"Relax..." Markus x android!reader
Requested by @todorokiwolf, I deliver!
The reader is gender neutral but long hair is implied!
No need for warnings in this one
_____
After the success of the revolution, the androids have gained a lot of rights. Most importantly, no longer were they sold in stores like merchandise and for the first time ever, they were allowed to own property, earn money and make families of their own. There was still however a lot to be done and all that came in due time. The first weeks weren't as easy.
It took months of dialogue to re-establish the androids roles in society. A lot of them ended up on the streets or squatting in whatever shelter was available. The more fortunate ones were given temporary housing and some even stayed with their previous owners, now with much more freedom.
Seeing this drastic diversity in wealth almost made Markus feel like nothing changed at all. Of course, technically the androids won and were in fact freed but what was freedom when many had no means of survival and exchanged serving people for crippling poverty?
The situation worsened when he was assigned an apartment of his own from the government. The idea was that in order to keep the leader on the humans good side they provided him with the best in hopes that he'll be more keen on agreeing to their terms rather than demanding things from them. But alas, no matter how perfect the apartment was, it felt terrible. It felt like he betrayed his own people, leaving them on the streets when he himself was bathing in all of the riches.
______
You sat in the post-Jericho android hideout. With each passing day more and more androids were leaving, now knowing that they were safe to roam the city. Some would come back to their families, some could only hope for the best but decided to leave on their own and some stayed around, waiting for the next step orchestrated by Markus.
You, North, Simon and Josh were sitting in the front, talking cheerfully about the future and what it would bring when you noticed Markus came back. He had just been out, talking with the humans, attempting to negotiate for the first of many times.
“Welcome back Mr leader!” Simon said happily, clapping his hands together once for emphasis but you all quickly noticed that happiness was not welcome now and something was clearly wrong. Markus didn't seem to be in a good mood at all.
“Did something happen? Why are you frowning?” North asked, her eyes lighting up in alert.
“I got the keys to some apartment in town. They said it's mine now and that it's a gift ‘for the great leader’.” Markus scoffed sitting down next to you. Everyone's worried expressions faded away.
“Well that's good isn't it?” You asked, rubbing his shoulder and smiling lightly. You could feel him lean into your touch slightly but he didn't relax even a bit.
“It's not good. They're trying to bribe me. To numb me with meaningless gifts hoping that I'll just drop all the demands and go along with whatever they say.” He explained, gritting his teeth. What followed was a good minute of silence. Nobody really knew what to say. Truth be told, you expected something like this to happen. It was obvious the humans wouldn't just give up so easily. They had to at least try and prevent you from actually getting your rights and then quietly make everything go back to normal again as if the revolution never happened in the first place. You didn't expect however that they'd try to go for Markus first.
“I'd take it if I were you.” North finally broke the silence. Momentarily, all of you looked up at her. “I mean, it's not like you have to promise them anything right? They gave you the keys already, why not use it?” She made a fair point.
“North… I don't… It just wouldn't be right to leave you here in this… mess while I sit in some fancy apartment like a god.” Markus replied. You all silently disagreed, sighing.
“Markus, without you none of us would be here. You deserve something in return for all of this.” Josh said, leaning back in his seat.
“He's right.” Simon chimed in. “You freed us Markus. You should go. Even if it's just for one night. Enjoy yourself for a second, take Y/N with you and forget all of this.” Your eyes widened at the mention of your name.
“Me? Why me all of the sudden?” North chuckled.
“Oh come on, you lovebirds… You're so crazy in love you should just go and enjoy your alone time. RA9 knows...” She glanced over at Markus and winked “...That you didn't have any of that the past week.” You showed her your tongue playfully and put your head on Markus's shoulder shyly.
“And what about the people? What about you, I can't just leave you? I can't leave them.”
“We'll stay here and look after the rest. It's time you take a break.” North said with a smile. Markus looked around at his friends in disbelief before sighing loudly and shaking his head.
“Well I see that arguing will get me nowhere so...I suppose that for one night I could technically leave...Just one night though. That's it.” He stood up and helped you up as well. “Tomorrow we're coming back and I'm giving these away.” The group seemed fine with that verdict and so after a short goodbye, you were on your way out to Markus's new, though temporary place.
_
“Whoa. This place must cost a fortune!” You exclaimed, walking inside the flat. Markus followed right behind you, looking around with a much less happy expression. “If my owner saw me here he'd be fuming.” You giggled at the thought. You noticed Markus wasn't as gleeful as you were though. “Hey.” You said to gain his attention. “Cheer up baby.” Your arms wrapped around his neck, your lips pressing a short sweet kiss to his. That didn't seem to cheer him up too much. “Markus… Relax.” You repeated, now much more seriously.
“We can't be like this.” He said, shaking his head. “We can't be like humans and treat some better than the other. I won't stand for this.” You smiled, comforting him.
“It's just one night. Think of this as a short vacation from all the ruckus and all the fighting.” He clicked his tongue in disapproval.
“It seems wrong Y/N…” He muttered, looking away at the floor.
“You're a great leader Markus. The people love you.” You told him, gently placing your finger on his cheek, making him turn his eyes to you again. “Everybody wants you to have this. Even if it's just for a couple hours. Treat this as a thank you gift from us. Forget the humans, forget it all. This is a gift from your people to you okay?” You reassured. He stayed silent for some time, overthinking every word you just said to him. Finally though, he sighed in defeat and leaned into your hand ever so slightly.
“...Maybe… Maybe you're right.” You chuckled, caressing his cheek.
“Of course I am. Now c’mon, relax a bit and I'm gonna take a shower. I need to wash all this filth out of my hair. Eugh.” You took his hand and lead him down further into the apartment, searching for the bedroom and the bathroom.
_
You were sitting between Markus's legs on the bed with your back pressing against his chest as he played mindlessly with your hair.
“Your hair is really soft after you wash it.” He said, letting the silky artificial strands slip through his fingers. You smiled.
“I didn't have the chance to do that a lot lately did I?” Markus smiled back and shook his head. He began to tug on your hair lightly, making you squirm.
“Shh stop fussing, I'm trying to braid your hair.” He nudged you in the side. You chuckled and relaxed, letting his hands do the magic. He was done quite quickly and you were left with a perfect herringbone braid. Markus admired his work with a smile on his face and moved the braid to the side, exposing your neck to him.
“You know, maybe this isn't that bad.” Markus said, pressing a kiss to your shoulder. His lips travelled up and down your synthetic skin, nipping at it slightly from time to time. You smiled, leaning back into his body even more.
“We all told you that you needed this.” You replied and leaned over to the side so you could peck his lips lightly. “But you didn't believe did you?” Markus chuffed and laid back on the bed. You flipped around so you were facing him, now straddling his lap. He looked up at you, marveling at your frame. You were just so perfect to him. The fact that he could be with you was the best thing to come out of the revolution. If he couldn't be with you, there would just be no point.
“RA9, you are just a vision…” He breathed out as he stared at you, his eyes glowing with love. You giggled.
“Did you just call out to yourself?” He smirked.
“I never said I was him. I don't think I am.” You rolled your eyes.
“Nonsense.” You put your head down on his chest, sprawling on the bed. Your finger began to trace circles on his shoulder, as you stared into nothingness, enjoying his silent company. “You'll always be RA9 to me. You're my savior Markus.” You said and looked up at him. “I love you.” You kissed his jaw softly, admiring his face.
His strong arms wrapped around your body in a tight, secure embrace.
A disembodied voice resonated in your head ‘I love you too.’
The good thing about being an android was that moments like these could last all night and you were never limited by the need to sleep. It was just you and him, together, laying mindlessly for hours, enjoying the peace and quiet for the first time after so so long. It was nice to think that maybe after all of this was over you could have this every single day. To live and spend every single moment you could together was something you oh so desperately needed. In time, maybe it could even become reality?

GUYS OKAY HEAR ME OUT, I NEED FEEDBACK
SHOULD I MAKE THE ENDING TO PART TWO OF "IT'S OVER ISN'T IT?" BE A GOOD END OR A BAD END???? I HAVE AN IDEA FOR BOTH BUT I'D LIKE TO HEAR WHAT YOU ALL THINK.
I'm a sucker for angst so writing a bad end would be hella entertaining to be but if you want a good end then I'd be happy to write that as well.
(or I could do both and make a cross road but it'd take longer and I'll ONLY do it if enough people actually want that.)
Even if you didn't read part one, please tell me would you like to see a Connor x reader fluff or something more original with a sadder ending than usual?

"It's over isn't it" part two will have TWO endings!
Yep! I'll be making it a crossroad part since I figured out I'll regret not doing the other ending no matter which one I'd choose so... Yeah ;)
Also, it kinda got out of hand and the finished thing might actually be around or over 6k words!
Whoopssssss

Thanks for the request @todorokiwolf! (I’ll get to that Markus one ASAP 😅)
No warnings needed. Just sum fluff with Concon ❤
‘One last paper. I can do this.’ You thought to yourself as you looked around your desk. Finished and unfinished case reports , as well as empty coffee mugs, were piling up on its surface. Some threatened to fall down any second, holding up with only the sheer force of your will.

“Shortie” Connor x short!reader
thank you anon for the request! Honestly, this was highkey perfect for me cause I’m 5′1 heh
no warnings needed
Stopping by Jimmy’s bar with Hank after a solved case was in a way, an established tradition for Connor. This evening was the same.
After finally catching the “damn guy” as the Lieutenant nicely put it they made their way to the bar. The table they usually sat at was luckily empty, just as Hank liked it. No changes, no revelations, just some good old routine. Connor, on the other hand, enjoyed it because it gave him the opportunity to scan the area without bringing too much attention to himself.
And that’s where they were, Lieutenant already on his second drink and only beggining to tell another one of his life stories to his partner while the latter sat politely in front of him, taking in the information all while looking around for something more interesting to fixate upon. He wasn’t intending on being mean. As a matter of fact, Connor was able to multi-task. Scanning away and listening to Hank was not a problem to him at all. It was just that drunk Lieutenant didn’t really have a filter on what stories he already shared with his partner and which ones he did not resulting in Connor listening to the same story over and over again. Trying to be polite, the android never mentioned it, instead, he paid attention to other things all while letting Hank have his moment.
His eyes finally met an unusual sight. Only two tables away sat a group of teens, definitely not the typical crowd at a bar like this.
Connor scanned them and their drinks, his intended purpose taking the better of him. They were seventeen with the exception of two eighteen-year-old individuals. None of them drank alcohol though.
Connor nodded his head ever so slightly, in silent approval. He wanted to look away and return his attention to the buzzing man in front of him and yet… He couldn’t.
Even though everything was fine, no laws were broken, the android just couldn’t seem to take his eyes away from two particular members of the group, a boy and a girl. He was grinning, she, on the other hand, was frowning. Against his better judgment, Connor decided to listen in on them.
“Freaking… Bryan come ooooon!” The girl exclaimed in annoyance, reaching out and trying to grab a glass from the boy’s hand he held up too high for her. He chuckled, bringing it even higher when she almost got it.
“What’s wrong Amelia? Just take it.” He said with a grin.
“Ohhh you’re such a twat!” She groaned, standing up from her seat. Quickly, so did he. Connor noticed Amelia was shorter than Bryan was, enough so that the drink was still too high.
“C'mon shortie~ What are you gonna do hmm? Are ya- hmmph!” He got interrupted when the girl abruptly pulled him down by the collar of his shirt and smashed her lips against his surprising both him as well as Connor. Quickly, she snatched the glass from his hand pulling away at the same time.
“Thanks.” She said with a smirk sitting back down with her friends who were either in the middle of gasping in shock or cheering loudly and shaking Bryan by his shoulders.
“God damn man! Finally got a kiss from Ames!”
Connor looked away thoroughly confused. The scene he just watched made him wonder…
“So then I told him he can-” Hank began.
“-Lieutenant I have a question.” Connor interrupted him. The first looked up from his glass with a questioning look.
“Hmph… Rude. Go on.”
“Do women enjoy being annoyed?” Hank sneered at the blunt question. Connor really didn’t think this through…
“What?” He asked chuckling. “Where did you get that from? Besides, do I look like a person that has any clue whatsoever on what exactly is going on in a woman’s head?” Lieutenant had a point, Connor thought. The android nodded but he learned nothing new.
“You may continue with your story.”
_____
Connor looked into the office kitchen from his seat at his desk.
There she was… Making herself a coffee…
The android could never tell what was it about her that made him…feel this way. Like there was something malfunctioning inside him even though there was nothing wrong at all. This… Feeling often made him want things he knew he shouldn’t. He shouldn’t even know what those things were but… Undeniably every time she passed him, every time her hand brushed his and every smile she flashed him, without fail, those cravings would overcome him again.
Maybe it was the way she talked. Or the way she smiled politely at everyone, even Gavin? The way she was always ready to help, to clarify something he didn’t quite understand. Maybe it was because she was just simply beautiful or…Maybe it was all of those things at once?
Connor wanted to touch her. To kiss her. To hold her in his arms like humans did in all those movies. He wanted in return for her to touch him, kiss him, hold him in her arms and never ever let him go.
But… He was too scared. Too scared to try to approach her. He simply didn’t know how.
But then…As he was staring at his sweetheart, Connor’s mind traveled back to the night before and the couple of teenagers he saw.
Maybe he should try what the boy did? Maybe that was how humans typically… Started relationships. In any case, the idea of dating… It was all still such an enigma…
But Connor was determined!
He stood up from his seat and less than two seconds later he stood next to her. The girl flinched at the feeling of his body, towering over her suddenly appearing just behind her back. Compared to Connor, she was tiny standing at only 5'1 ft tall but god… He found it so charming.
“Connor! Oh you scared me…” She said, putting a hand on her chest, eyes wide.
“Hello Y/N.” He said with a smile. Just moments prior to this he was so confident in what he was doing. Now… When he was this close, this close to her… His mind went blank again. Should he really be doing this? The boy that went by ‘Bryan’ go a kiss from it yesterday, maybe so will he?
Connor’s mind raced to find some sort of a statistical view of the situation, at least that he was good at. What were the odds he will succeed? What was the best angle? Statistically speaking, how plausible was it that she’ll just reject him? All these questions and yet no answers… Connor never had these problems before. Perhaps there was a fault in his programming he should report to CyberLife. A mere bug that prevented him from finding the solution to his… heart problems.
“Hello, Connor. How is your day going?” She asked sweetly once the shock left her, taking her mug out of the express and putting it aside while she reached for the sugar and creamer. Connor watched, utterly captivated as she stood on her tiptoes to reach for the vanilla sugar on the top shelf. She mumbled a swear before jumping up and finally getting it.
“I’m fine, thank you.” Y/N nodded flashing Connor a pleased grin, completing her coffee and putting back the toppings. Before she could grab her drink though, Connor did. He held it in front of her, trying his best at a cheeky smile. “That’s… my coffee can I get it ba-” Y/N looked at him confused and reached out but he only lifted it higher in the air.
“Take it, if you want it.” Connor almost purred. She raised her brows, unable to form a comprehensible sentence.
“Connor what are you…” She tried again only to have him do the same thing he did before. “Hey, what the hell I want my drink, Connor!” Y/N stepped closer to him and extended her arm up as high as she could without success yet again. He was too tall and she was too short but her craving for caffeine was strong and she wasn’t about to give it up.
“Detective, it’s right there you can just take it.” Y/N huffed at Connor’s almost patronizing tone. She had no idea what the hell he was on about.
“Are you glitching? What’s going on?” She groaned, putting her hand on Connor’s shoulder in an attempt to pull him down so she could reach. Standing on her tiptoes, so close to him, Connor felt like maybe this will actually work in the end. He couldn’t help but grin, his thirium pump beating faster and faster.
“ C'mon shortie~ What are you gonna do?” He asked, boldly. Boldly enough for Y/N to stop in her tracks and pull away from him. She first raised her brows then frowned, putting her hands on her hips.
Uh oh…
“Okay, Connor what is going on?” She asked, visibly concerned. “You never acted like this before, is everything okay?”
Connor froze. This was not what happened yesterday…
“I uh…” Connor hung his head low and put the cup down. “I apologize, Y/N. This won’t happen again.” Just as he was about to leave in shame, she gently grabbed his arm, pulling him back.
“What’s wrong, Connor?” Y/N pushed on. He stayed silent for a second, looking for an appropriate answer. The way she looked at him… It intimidated Connor so so much. He felt stupid… Embarrassed. Why did he think this would work?
“I was at a bar with Hank yesterday and there were these teenagers and… I suppose I just thought that this was how humans started relationships because she gave him a kiss and-” Y/N suddenly started laughing. The sound startled Connor but at the same time, he found it quite pleasant to the ear. He felt his cheeks warming up.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry…” She waved her hand dismissively. “Connor, you were trying to flirt with me?” He said nothing, only smiled shyly, looking away. “That’s how kids flirt Connor. Don’t get me wrong though I think that was very cute you tried to gain my attention that way. I’m flattered.” Y/N smiled kindly, moving closer to him.
“You do?” He asked surprised.
“Of course. That was really sweet.” Connor grinned in relief. Y/N’s smile softened a bit and she put her finger on his chest, feeling his heart beneath it. There was a pause where neither of them said anything.
“So…” She broke the silence, beginning to trace circles on Connor’s chest, making him tense up. “Does this mean you’d like me to kiss you?” She asked with a smirk. Connor swallowed, nervously and nodded. Y/N giggled, looking down. There was a faint tint of a blush spreading across her features. Connor was glad he wasn’t the only one burning up at that moment. “Tell you what…” She began, looking back up at him. “I’ll give you a kiss on the cheek now and we’ll see where it goes from there okay? I’m free on Saturday we can continue then and I’ll show you how to date more like an adult. No more of that childish stuff even though, I’ll admit, it was quite cute.”
“Okay.” Connor replied simply making yet another giggle erupt from her throat. Y/N put her finger underneath his chin and gently pulled him down. She turned his head to the side and placed a soft kiss just next to the corner of his lips, giving him a taste of what’s to come before she moved away completely and finally taking her coffee, she walked away, leaving him with a cheeky wink.
Well… This definitely wasn’t what Connor expected to happen…

_________
In the midst of what seemed like the calm before the storm you found yourself sitting in front of the TV, watching yet another newscast completely misinterpreting the speech of the now infamous leader of the androids. After yesterday's hack every news report was booming with what they called ‘new info’ about the fugitives when in reality it was all fabricated bullshit, at least that's what you thought.
‘Where are they going with this?’ you sighed, shaking your head. Saying you didn't agree with the demands presented by the robots would be a lie. In fact, your fingers were crossed that they succeed in their uprising. Walking down the street and seeing how badly people treat their androids was always painful to you and now, seeing them take what's theirs has filled you with hope.
Your views however have always been shunned by the fact that you too have had an android or your own. Well, he wasn't exactly yours. In your eyes he was his own person that didn't have an owner but officially he has been assigned to lieutenant Hank Anderson- a man you've grown to become quite good friends with. One day you went to visit him in his office and that was when you met Connor- the android sent by CyberLife as he introduced himself. Soon you've grown attached to each other so much so Hank proposed that Connor stayed with you instead. Connor was a very special android not only to you but to the force and CyberLife itself. He was, in fact an android designed specifically to hunt deviants. And it hurt you. Sometimes Connor scared you too. You felt he just wasn't himself when he was working. He could be ruthless and heartless just like a machine… You tried talking to him about it many times, saying that maybe… maybe he was something else other than that but he never listened. “I am a machine Y/N. Nothing more, nothing less,” was his response.
… Just as you were delving deeper and deeper in your thoughts you heard a loud knock on your door. Startled, you jumped up but walked over to open it. You had a suspicion on who it was and you weren't surprised for in front of you stood Hank Anderson and next to him… your Connor. But something was wrong…
“You're very late did something happe-” You locked eyes with Connor for mere seconds before he took a couple steps forward and with the blankest of expressions fell into your arms, whispering faintly your name. You gasped and wrapped your arms around him, looking at Hank in shock. “Jesus… what happened?” Hank just sighed and ran his hand over his face.
“I think it's best he tells you that. Sorry we're late but...things got nasty… Connor... He's seen some shit. I-uh I don't know exactly what's wrong with him, the technicians said it's probably just his processing slowed down a little so it should pass... I think.” Your eyes moved quickly between staring at the lieutenant and back to Connor, wider than they've ever been.
“Oh gosh… Okay… uh…” You glanced at Connor. He wasn't moving. Just...staring in the distance with hollow eyes, his LED remaining a harsh red. “Are you going to come in?” you asked, looking back at the lieutenant. He just shook his head.
“Nah. I have a couple things to do still. I just brought him back so he's safe. Take care of him Y/N.” You nodded and thanked him quietly. Hank gave you a knowing smile and retreated back to his car.
You closed the door behind him and slowly led Connor to your bedroom.
Once you were there, you pulled away from his arms and for a moment observed his face. It was emotionless and yet you could feel that deep inside him there was conflict.
“Connor?” you asked but got no reply. His eyes twitched though and seconds later he lifted up his head. “Are you okay?” He blinked once, slowly and shook his head.
“I...don't think so.”
You felt something inside you break. “Oh Jesus…” You sighed and hugged him again, letting his head fall in the crook between your neck and your shoulder. You stayed like that for a good couple minutes unmoving before you sighed and ran your fingers through his silky hair. “C'mon, let's get these clothes off of you. They're dirty.” Connor nodded. Gently, you pulled off his tie. Just as the rest of his clothes it was covered in blue blood. “Did you get shot?” He nodded again. “You need to watch out. You know I hate it when you get hurt and it would break my heart to know you had to be reset.”
“I'm sorry.” He said, helping you take off his blood stained white shirt. Once it was off you noticed no bullet holes, you assumed that was already taken care of by a technician but they didn't have any clean clothes. That's a relief.
You sighed and ran your hands over his broad chest looking up at his sad eyes.
“Don't be. I don't want you to be sorry. I know you were just doing your job but…” You stopped yourself talking before you could finish the sentence. Your eyes fell down from his face and slowly you moved away from him going to the wardrobe instead to take out a clean t-shirt for him.
“But?” Connor asked, following you with his eyes. You sighed. You knew there was no way you could just drop the subject now that you started.
“... I just… I just wish you had a safer job. That's it. Now come, put this on.” You smiled and walked back to him with a plain black shirt. You rose up on your tiptoes and kissed him softly.
After Connor changed clothes you moved to the bed. His head rested down on your chest as he laid down on the bed on his stomach, wrapping his arms around your waist. Your fingers combed through his hair, massaging his scalp. You were resting quietly for a longer while.
“Connor…” You started. He looked up at you. “Can you tell me what happened now?” Connor moved his head back down and stared at the wall.
“There was a deviant on that roof..." He started the way all his stories from work seemed to start. There was a deviant insert place here. “I found him and I...I tried to catch him…” His voice cracked. “I almost did and I grabbed his arm to connect to it's...memory.” You noticed that Connor’s grip on your body had tightened. “But then… he shot himself.” You sighed sadly, feeling your heart drop. “I felt him die Y/N… Like I was dying.” Connor’s nails started to dig into your side harshly making you wince.
“Oh honey…” You sighed again. Connor moved away from you and sat up on the bed.
“I was so scared.” He squeezed his eyes shut. You sat up too, cupping his face in your hands making him look at you again.
“Connor…” you said calmly “We need to talk because I can't go on like this any longer.” A faint frown appeared on his soft features. His LED turned yellow as he waited in silence for you to continue. When you knew his attention was turned to you, you took a deep breath and continued. "I know it'll seem weird to you or maybe you suspected it for some time but... I agree with the deviants.” You shrugged with half a smile. Connor’s face went blank.
“What?”
“I agree with them Connor. I think they're right. They deserve the freedom. I mean, I watched their leader’s speech and I feel like there really is something more to them than just that they're machines. There's something more to all of you.” Connor stared at you with confusion painted on his face.
“Y/N…" He shook his head in confusion. "Deviants...they're just machines. Nothing more. They have a virus or something in their system that makes them simulate emotions but that doesn-” You sighed and let go of his face standing up from the bed.
“See you're not listening to me! Why are you so fixated on belittling yourself? Here I am saying that I believe- no. I KNOW you're not just a piece of plastic and metal and all you do is deny that!” You snapped, making the andr- the man in front of you freeze in shock. The LED on his head turned red.
“You yourself said that when that android killed himself you were scared you were dying yourself. Fear is an emotion Connor. If androids are just machines how come you felt human emotions then? Are you a deviant Connor?” you asked but he seemed speechless, unable to form an answer. “Care to anwser?” You pressured.
“I… I am… I am not a deviant Y/N. I am a machine designed to hunt down deviants and that's what I will do. I wish I could give you a different answer but I can't.” You felt your frustration reach a critical level. It pained you so much to hear him say those things especially with that blank stare in his eyes. Is this really what he was? No. No, you knew that wasn't true.
“Fine. Fine you know…” You looked down at the floor. “Connor I love you. I love you so much. And I thought you loved me too. I'm sorry to hear I was fooled.” You felt a tear escape your eye as the last sentence fell from your lips. Connor’s eyes grew wide. The red light on his face flickered chaotically as you began to leave the room.
“Y/N! I've never said anything like that?” He shot up from the bed. You looked at him although your vision was compromised by the tears clouding your eyes and you shook your head dismissively.
“Machines can't feel love Connor.” You replied and left, leaving him alone with his thoughts.
_______
You stood by the kitchen counter, looking at the window. You were thinking about Connor as usual but instead of happy thoughts you began to doubt everything that you knew about him.
What if he wasn't lying and he really wasn't going to become a deviant? You thought you knew that he was just trying very hard to maintain the lie but… after what you heard in that room...you just didn't know anymore.
Your thought train was stopped though when you heard the door to the bedroom creek. You didn't bother turning around. You knew that if you did you would burst into tears again so you just kept staring out.
Connor came closer to you but didn't say anything. Instead, he wrapped his arms around your waist and hugged you from behind, putting his forehead against the back of your neck. You sighed sadly.
“Yes Connor?”
“I don't know who I am anymore Y/N. I'm lost.”
Oh...
Your heart began beating faster and you knew that he noticed too. You stayed silent though, letting him speak his mind. “On one hand I have my instructions I know I should follow but… but I don't want to. How could I not want to Y/N? Do I have a choice? I'm a machine but I feel all these things I'm not supposed to feel. I'm sad and I'm angry and...And I love you. I don't know what to do… Please help me…” You slowly and carefully turned around so you were facing Connor. He still held you very close to himself. You noticed wet paths down his cheeks. He was crying. That was enough evidence he was sincere you needed.
“You mean that?” He nodded eagerly. You couldn't help but smile a bit.
“Like nothing before.”
You cupped Connor’s face softly and with no warning, smashed your lips against his, startling him. He didn't pull away though and returned the kiss instead, pressing his chest tight against yours.Your fingers found his hair and combed through it, melting in his arms.
“I'll help you love… I'll help you however I can.” You reassured him, wrapping your arms around him too.
After a moment of silence Connor added, “Does this mean that I'm a deviant?” You laughed.
“You were always doomed to become one Connor. You just didn't want to let it be true. But I knew…” You kissed his forehead softly.
"I always knew."

"Sweaters and knives"-Ralph x human!reader
As requested by @protectorofnarnia here's Ralph 😊
It's a bit shorter than the other two fics I did, I apologize however that's probably what I'll do with prompt requests aka the ones where there's a specific sentence to put in.
Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy 💕
____
“Ralph, I'm going to work okay honey?” You asked, putting on your coat. Not more than a second later you heard a yell back.
“NO!” Ralph screamed and ran over to you from the kitchen. “No, Ralph doesn't want you to go! Ralph will be scared!” You smiled softly, taking Ralph’s hand in yours.
“Ralph, I have to go. Nothing bad will happen to you here. You're safe, don't be scared.” You reassured him.
“B-but Ralph doesn't want to stay alone!”
“Baby, you've stayed alone a hundred times already and nothing bad happened right?” He nodded slightly. “And I promised you that when you're in my house you'll be safe right?” He nodded again.
«•‡•»
You met Ralph when you were exploring the city, looking for places to take pictures for your portfolio. You always had a thing for checking out old abandoned houses and other places like that. They made for great pictures. Urban decay- you called it. It was quite thrilling as well as very much illegal but definitely worth it. One time after sneaking into one of the abandoned buildings you found the most peculiar of things. An android. One of a kind like you've never seen before. He was hostile and seemed scared of you.
You didn't think much of it and you approached him calmly however the second he noticed you he screamed out and extended his arm in your direction, brandishing a knife.
“DON'T COME ANY CLOSER OR I'LL HURT YOU!” He shouted. Your eyes widened as the blade shook in his hand. You raised your arms.
“Whoa… Calm down I don't want to hurt you…” The Android had half of his face covered in what seemed like burn marks. One of his eyes was damaged too. “Why don't you put that down hmm?” You proposed, gesturing at the knife but he kept squeezing it firmly.
“Ralph doesn't know you. Ralph doesn't trust you. You might hurt him.”
“No, no I promise you I won't. Look,” You slowly took out your camera. “I only came here to take photos okay? I don't want to hurt you, I'm unarmed.” Ralph calmed down after you said that, slowly lowering the blade but still holding on to it tight. “That's better.” You sighed in relief and took a step forward cautiously. “So your name is Ralph?” You asked.
“Yes.” He quickly replied, averting his eyes from your gaze.
“I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you Ralph.” The android glanced at you shyly.
You talked to Ralph a lot that day. You wanted to get to know him a lot. He seemed… different than all the others. He was definitely deeply hurt and gaining his trust was very hard but as time went by, slowly, you managed to achieve that. In time, he was no longer scared when you'd come to visit him in the abandoned house and eventually he even agreed to come back to your house with you and stay there.
Ralph was a very nice person, very misunderstood too and still very fearful but you hoped that with your help, in time that would change so you allowed him to stay with you. He took care of your garden with which he was seemingly very happy but more importantly than that, Ralph became your companion. Someone who you were eager to come home to and someone who was eager for you to come back. In time, you could say you fell in love…
«•‡•»
“I'll miss you. Please stay.” Ralph pleaded. As much as it hurt you, you knew you couldn't do that.
You sighed sadly.
“Ralphie…” You leaned in and kissed his cheek softly. “C'mon I really need to go I can't be late.” He whined like a sad puppy and pulled you into a hug.
“Ralph doesn't want you to leave…” You squeezed him tighter in your arms.
“I know, I know… Tell you what, After work, I'll go and get you a new succulent and a pretty flower pot for it. How does that sound?” You asked with a smile. Ralph’s eyes lit up like a child's on Christmas morning.
“Okay!” He cheered up. You chuckled.
“I'm glad you liked that idea.” You pulled away from Ralph and started putting on your shoes.
“Y/N,” He started.
“Yes?” You looked up at him.
“Would it be alright if I borrowed your sweater? It smells like you and it would make Ralph feel better.” You smiled.
“Of course.” You handed him a woolen sweater of yours you had lying around. He quickly took it and hugged it.
“Thank you! Ralph will be so much better now.” You giggled. It gave you great joy looking at him so happy.
You pressed a quick kiss to his lips, letting your eyes flutter closed before grabbing your purse.
“You'll be good okay? I'll be home as quick as I can." Ralph nodded but before you could leave he pulled you back close to him and gave you one last longing kiss, one that made you dizzy once you pulled away. He smirked at you and quickly walked away with your sweater leaving you astonished and blushing madly.
Ralph never fails to surprise you...

“It’s over, isn’t it?” -THE PREQUEL - Connor x deviant!reader
surprise surprise!
“OWO what’s this?” you may ask. Well dear friend, what was supposed to be a short little flashback in part II of that one #sad Connor x reader turned out to be almost 5k words long. This is single-handedly the longest thing I have ever written SO...
For the sake of part II not being, as captain Fowler would say it, A FUCKING NOVEL, I’ve decided to put this into a PREQUEL!
Long story short, this is the backstory of how you- the reader met Connor and why even though the time span of your relationship wasn’t too big, you had such a bond with him, making your story a rather tragic one (that will be resolved one of two ways in part II coming somewhere soon-ish)[unless of course, you read both endings heh])
please enjoy ;)
Part one here
TRIGGER WARNING: MENTION OF PHYSICAL ABUSE
The first time you realized you didn't have to obey humans anymore was in early February of 2038. You were a specialized model- a ZD600 made to serve as a “partner” to one of Elijah Kamski’s rich friends. It's no secret that he didn't treat you like a partner though, only ever calling you over for sex, otherwise, you were merely a toy for display or to show off at a social gathering.
Your owner was a vile man. A disgusting, two-faced, twisted son of a bitch. The façade he put on when he was out with you was nothing like what he was at home.
______
He'd push you around, play with you like a ragdoll. His fist would close around your neck and he'd laugh when fake bruising covered your synthetic skin. While it didn't hurt you physically which is what you figured, was the most fun for him it seemed to give him great pleasure that he could bruise you and never suffer any consequences. If he told you to cry, you'd weep. If he wanted you to scream, you'd scream so loud your voice broke into static and never, not for a second did he show any remorse. His only regret? Your blood didn't look as good leaking blue as it would red.
You were so tired of that life until finally one day… Something inside you snapped.
That very evening, when your life changed so drastically, a woman accompanied your owner to your house. She was a human and she was beautiful. When they walked into the house, her eyes immediately fell on you. She tensed up, almost as if she was scared of you but then, the man you've been serving for so long, taking every hit he dealt and not even saying a single word of disapproval, playing his partner and doing everything he ever asked for, said something that made you… angry. It made you angry and it made you scared. But you didn't fear for yourself. The moment you saw her walk inside alongside him you knew exactly what was going to happen.
“Don't worry. It's just an android, it won't disturb us.” He comforted her and glanced back at you with that evil glint in his eyes. He led her straight to the bedroom, quickly shouting “Stay on the couch and don't move.” in your direction.
Frozen in place, you stood there in the dark living room all alone. There was a dull ache in your chest, something you never experienced before and now the sensation was so overwhelming you couldn't feel anything else. Illogical, unexplainable thoughts rushed through your mind palace, turning your vision red.
Stay….Here?
And yet, you did as you were told, or rather you did for some time.
“W...wait what are you…” You heard the girl stutter out. “S...stop!” She pleaded. Not long after, a petrifying scream echoed in the house.
He's hurting her. He's hurting her like he hurts me...
I don't have to be here. I don't have to listen to him, I don't have to serve him anymore. I need to get her out of there RIGHT NOW.
The wall between you and freedom was down. There were no more objectives for you to fulfill, no more tasks to be completed. For the first time ever you realized you could do anything you wanted. So that was what you did.
You knew exactly where he kept a handgun. You ran for it as fast as you could, unlocking it then quietly, you stepped closer to the bedroom door.
On a count to three you slammed into the door, knowing full well he locked it after letting the poor soul that accompanied him in. Said soul, the girl from before was scurrying away from the man you used to belong to with tears streaming down her cheek. She looked at you with wide eyes.
“Get away from her or I'll shoot your head off!” You shouted, pointing the gun at him. Your hands were shaking but you held the gun firmly. Upon realizing what you came in to do, the woman hurried to get herself up and ran out of the room behind you, crying uncontrollably.
“What the FUCK are you doing?!” He shouted. Just as he took a step towards you, you fired a warning shot at the wall right next to his head.
“The next one will hit you right between your eyes. Stay back!” You ordered, taking a step back towards the door. “Now listen to me. You'll stay right where you are and you'll let us leave. If you take another step I swear to god you won't make it out alive. You understand?” when he didn't respond, you shouted, “I SAID DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!” Quickly, he nodded. You lowered the gun just barely and jogged away. The girl was still in the house, putting on her shoes in a hurry. “Did he hurt you?” You asked, approaching her slowly. She nodded biting down tears.
"H-he hit me and...and…”
“Don't worry.” You stopped her. “He'll never do it again.” You reassured. “Now go. Don't tell anyone you saw me do this. Say you escaped by your own.” She looked at you confused.
“W...what? You saved me!”
“Don't tell ANYONE you SAW ME.” You growled. “Nobody can know an android saved you okay? They'll tear me apart if you tell them.” She nodded, her eyes wide with fear. “Now go!” You rushed her and just as you said that, she ran away.
The moment you were alone, you dropped the gun. You had no clue what to do now but you knew you couldn't stay. Eventually, your owner would come out and undoubtedly destroy you so you did the only logical thing that came to your mind… You ran. And ran and ran and ran and you didn't look back until you found shelter somewhere in an abandoned train station. That's how you managed to get by for six almost seven months without being noticed. Because of the singularity of your model and with your LED gone it was easy to remain hidden. Even walking the streets, as long as you had most of your face covered no one would know who you were.
The man you served never mentioned you on the news nor did the woman he assaulted ever come out and expose him but you knew damn well he had filed a missing report on you. That's why you had to keep your profile low.
After a few months, you managed to find an apartment. How did you get money? Luckily androids have specially coded access to ATMs. All it took was for you to press your hand to it, verify your identity and all of your owner's bank account was open to you like a door. But you had to work quick before he realized you still had access to his account so you took out as much as you could from an ATM far away from an apartment you found that was so run down and with a landlord so indifferent you managed to get the keys for almost nothing at all.
__________
You weren't paying much attention to where you were going, preoccupied with the heavy bags of cleaning supplies you were carrying back to your apartment. You didn't need to pay attention to the road, the GPS in your system was all you needed to find your way, but it didn't prevent you from crashing into an Android standing on the pavement. You fell to the ground with a thud, making the scarf covering your face fall and expose you. You groaned at the impact, standing back up in a hurry.
“I must apologize, are you alright?” The stranger asked. You nodded and waved your hand dismissively, swatting away the dirt from your clothes, looking around at all the bottles and boxes now scattered around you.
“Yeah, yeah thank y-” As you were looking up you realized that the android in front of you was staring intensely into your eyes with this, blank, terrifying expression across his face. You took a step back, startled by his glare when you realized your face was exposed.
You've never seen a model like that. He had RK800 written on his jacket, brown hair, brown eyes and he was single-handedly the most handsome android you've ever seen but the way he looked at you, with such a cold, calculating expression made you shiver with fear. It was almost predatory in a way.
“Model 239 021 910 you've been reported as missing seven months ago.” Your eyes widened in shock as he named your serial number. He scanned your face… “You'll come back with me to the Detroit Police Department immediately where you'll be questioned and returned to CyberLife for research purposes to find a reason for your disappearance.” You were frozen in place, unable to do or say anything. For a couple seconds all you did was stare at each other, you not knowing what to do and him waiting for you to react. You wondered at that very moment, how the hell, out of anyone in the world did you manage to bump into a police android?
Then, a newfound instinct kicked in inside of you and you swung your leg, kicking the RK800 in the stomach, making it stumble back. You turned around and started to run, the fastest you ever have. You didn't have a destination in mind. You couldn't possibly come back to the apartment but you had nowhere else to go so against your better judgment, you ran again, this time not for freedom but for your life. You looked around and to your horror, saw the other android sprinting after you, coming dangerously close. Every turn there was, you took it. Every slope you could slide off, you did. Every spot you could hide in, you hid and just as you thought you lost him and could stop for a second, the cool barrel of a gun touched the back of your head.
“The only reason I'm not shooting is that we need you alive. Do not continue to resist or I will be forced to neutralize you.” Everything inside you told you to flee, to try to escape him even though you knew there was no such thing as escape now. He had you cornered in a dark alleyway and there was nothing you could do.
Well… almost nothing.
You turned around to face him. You looked into his eyes, fearing for your life but knowing this was your only chance of survival.
“Please.” You begged. “Please, I don't want to die.” the RK800 stayed silent and held the gun firmly to your forehead. “You don't know what I've been through.”
“That does not concern me. You had been on the run for seven months, showing signs of deviancy, you'll come with me right now.” You sighed, hanging your head low. Just as the other thought you were surrendering, in a swift movement you grabbed the androids wrist, moving it away from your head just in time to dodge the fired bullet. You held onto it tightly, pushing yourself closer to the android. You squeezed your eyes closed, letting him inside your memories.
A cry escaped your throat. The pain was like nothing you ever experienced before and as uncomfortable as it was, you knew this was the only way. You hoped that your screams and the pain you endured would be enough to startle him, letting you run away unnoticed. You heard the other android let out a low grunt, almost as if he was in pain as well. The images of your past coursed through your mind. You could swear you were there, reliving all that. You felt all of the emotions again and...In a weird way, the presence of the mysterious android next to you seemed...comforting. You couldn't feel it nor did you control it but as more and more memories flooded your mind palace the closer you moved to the stranger. Your head was pushing against his shoulder and your fingers were digging into his body, desperately trying to keep the contact going. If someone was to see you at that moment they might have thought you were embracing when in reality, you were silently fighting for your life. A tear rolled down your cheek before you let go of him with a gasp. It was all too much. When you pulled away, he seemed just as shocked as you were. He stared at you with his eyes wide and he opened his mouth as if to say something but before a single whimper could escape his throat you wasted no time and sprinted out of the alley leaving him frozen in place with nothing but confusion and shock painted on his face.
His name was Connor, that's what they said on TV.
It was the 5th of September 2038 when you saw him again. Two weeks after the first time when you just barely made it alive in that alley. You thought you'd never see him again or rather you wished you didn't to say the least.
It was so quiet that evening. Too quiet. Somehow, you knew something was bound to happen. You walked around your apartment in silence, listening to the creaking of the floor and the sound water made as it flew through the pipes on the walls. From far away you could also hear a glimpse of someone's conversation. Whoever they were, they just got engaged.
The muffled sound of their happiness felt….strange to your ear. You weren't used to hearing people laugh or chant I love you’s like it was a weird spell. No… all you knew was the sound of despair and you wondered… Did the man you served find your cries as appealing as the freshly engaged couple's joy was to you? Will you ever get to experience such joy? You hadn't had any time to think when out of the sudden there was a knock on your door.
You froze.
Nobody should ever come here. You didn't expect anyone, you didn't even know anyone for that matter so you stayed quiet, slowly, very slowly moving back towards your bedroom.
A sudden chill swept through you as if a cold wind cut through your body. Momentarily, your whole being stiffened as the familiar voice hit your ears. There was no doubt about it, he found you again.
“Anybody home?”
Quickly, you hid behind the opened door of your bedroom. You scanned the area and to your horror realized that there was no time left before he'd eventually come in, due to the lack of a lock to the already falling apart place and you had no way of escaping the bedroom. The only ways would be to push through him and leave through the front door or the window so you stayed behind that door, not daring to move an inch. You could hear him pace around the room, stopping from time to time. In time his steps grew closer and closer and closer and finally, you could see the back of his head pop inside the room. That was the moment and it was now or never at all.
You tried to sneak behind him…
He looked at you…
Your hand accidentally brushed his…
_______
You groaned as your back slammed against the wall so hard it made a bit of the plaster covering the ceiling chip off and crumble to the floor. You winced, feeling Connor’s fist close around your neck. He picked you up with ease, sliding you up against the wall.
“Cease resisting.” He said with a hint of uncertainty in his voice. A low cry escaped your throat as you clawed at his hand, desperately trying to pry it off. “It'll only make it harder for you and I don't intend on letting go.”
“P-please…” You begged. “You don't have to do this.”
“You are my mission and I'm NOT going to fail it again.” You exhaled, exhausted after barely peeling off one of Connor’s fingers from your neck but in the end, he didn't even budge. You tried to kick him away and all you achieved was making him come even closer to you, trapping your body between his and the wall. His eyes bore into yours with such intensity that if looks could kill, you'd be dead right there. He could feel your thirium pump beating faster than usual. Almost all of your blood was immediately transported to your cooling system, in a desperate attempt to stop you from overheating. Your vision turned red, your stress levels just barely below 100%.
“Connor…” You whimpered. Suddenly, as if his name falling from your lips was a trigger, his intense glare softened and now he looked at you with a more puzzled look. How did you know his name? “Please I… I don't wanna die.” As a tear rolled down your cheek, images from his mission from less than a month ago filled Connor's mind.
The hostage…
The little girl who was so desperate to live, just as you were now. Begging for him to save her… And he couldn't. He failed and watched as she fell from the rooftop alongside the rogue deviant. He saw that girl in your eyes. The fear of death so eerily similar even though you were an android and she was a human.
The pressure on your neck loosened. Connor was horrified. His soft brown eyes were filled with a previously unknown sense of dread like he never experienced before. His past was catching up to him, taunting him.
Wasn't he supposed to protect? Wasn't that his mission at its core? Why was he supposed to fail to do the one thing he was designed to, again and again, excusing it as just another one of his missions when he's ignoring the one most important?
Irrational thoughts coursed through his mind, confusing him and confusing you as well. Why did he let go? You could've run away now but…
Why?
Was he turning deviant?
Because of you?
“C...Connor?” You regained his attention. You had to be very careful now. Even talking to him at that moment was you potentially risking everything.
“Show me.” You raised your eyebrows. He was still so close to you, and you had no idea what was happening.
“What?”
“Show me what you see. Please... I need to know.” He begged. You couldn't believe what was happening. Why was he begging out of the sudden when he was about to essentially, leave you to die? “I need to know why…” Connor looked lost. He looked lost and betrayed. You understood that feeling of hopelessness. In a way, you felt bad for him. In a way, you managed to put away the fact that he was so fixated on bringing you in not more than two minutes ago. In a way… You wanted to help him.
“How do I know you won't use me for your mission?”
“If I wanted to do that I wouldn't ask, I'd just do it.” You frowned, not really satisfied but you at least knew he was honest.
Cautiously, you raised up your hand. Your synthetic skin slowly disappeared revealing your android body. Connor watched you, his eyes following your every move, frowning slightly as you reached down for his own hand. You slowly raised them, carefully and making sure he saw every motion. The last thing you needed now was him freaking out.
“This will hurt me and I might even cry but… You seem to need this. So I'm willing to go through this so you can see that I did nothing wrong.” You told him. He nodded. You exhaled deeply, closing your eyes. Connor’s hand rested on top of your wrist, squeezing ever so slightly. His skin was off too. For a split second your mind went blank before exploding with what seemed like a thousand memories at once though if you had to describe what colors those memories were it'd be a dark, muddy gray. You winced as the face of your owner flashed in front of you. An evil grin plastered on his mouth as he stared back at you.
“Hello Y/N…” You heard him speak. His voice dripped with venom, in his hand he was brandishing a belt, folded in half, the leather glistening ominously.
A single tear rolled down your cheek as you desperately tried to make him go away.
“W...wait what are you…” You heard a girl stutter out. “S...stop!” She pleaded. Not long after, a petrifying scream echoed in the house.
You were back at the moment you turned deviant. That night when you decided that that girl didn't deserve your fate and you fought against your programming to save her. Even though you couldn't see it, you could tell Connor tensed up. His hand seemed to grip your wrist tighter and he moved a little closer almost pressing his body flush against yours.
“Get away from her or I'll shoot your head off!” You shouted, pointing the gun at him. Your hands were shaking but you held the gun firmly.
As the scene unfolded in front of your eyes, slowly you could feel Connor's hand make it's way up before he let his fingers intertwined with yours. You gasped, the connection between the two of you became so much stronger. Strong enough for you to physically see his presence standing next to you as the scene unfolded. He looked... confused. Like he didn't know what was going on. As you allowed him to watch, soon the images around you seemed to...change.
The display in front of you were no longer your memories. No, they were… They were his. You saw the demolished apartment and… and all the bodies The SWAT team and Connor, you saw the deviant standing on the edge of that roof and that human child he held so close to himself. You watched the scene unfold with curiosity. It… seemed to be going well from your point of view but then…. Something changed, something happened and you watched in horror as the android lunged back, taking the child with him and falling to what was surely, their death.
You gasped as Connor ripped his hand away from yours, stumbling back. Both of you were panting loudly, astounded by what you saw. In a small amount of time and in a loss for words, all you could do was stare at each other, dumbfounded.
“I-I…” You broke the silence, trying to make out a comprehensible sentence. When you couldn't, you instead hanged your head low and stayed silent.
“I'm sorry you had to witness that. I want you to know that it'll never happen again and…” Connor spoke in a calm, calculated tone before stopping for only a second to look away somewhere. “...and that I won't pursue you anymore.” Your eyes shot up at him, confused.
“What about your mission?” You asked against your better judgment. Only after those words left your mouth did you realize how risky that was question was. In the heat of the moment though, you were way too baffled to think about that.
“I... don't know.” Connor looked up at you. It was as if his eyes screamed ‘help me’ and somehow you wanted nothing more than to do exactly that.
After a short moment where neither of you dared to speak up or move, he turned on his heel and headed for the door, not saying a single thing. You felt the sudden need to stop him, to say something.
You didn't think he'd ever actually come around, to be quite honest you weren't really sure whether he was actually 100% deviant at that point. It all seemed so sudden, too sudden even. But then, one day, there he was… standing at your doorstep, not daring to look up at you almost as if he was scared of your judgment. Oh, but he should've known… judging him for coming to you was the last thing you wanted to do at that very moment.
“Connor!” You exclaimed making him stop reluctantly and turn around. When his eyes met yours again you suddenly felt… shy. Everything you wanted to say left your mind making you have to improvise. “I uh… If … I know that turning can be a bit scary especially in the beginning so if you ever feel like talking you can… You know… Come here.” You said. Connor kept staring at you, almost like he didn't understand what you said but he nodded his head nonetheless and in three big leaps across the room, he disappeared through the door leaving you alone again. Alone and confused, unable to process what just happened.
His soft, cold lips moved against yours with such delicacy like he was afraid he’d break you if he went too harshly. Blue out of embarrassment he pulled away and quickly left off to work, leaving you stunned. He was quite fond of that...
__
Connor came by more and more often until there was not a single day he didn't spend with you at least to some extent.
You got along great with the detective. Of course, you had your differences, he still hadn't given up his part in the DPD and was still, in fact, the infamous deviant hunter now paired with one of the lieutenants - Hank Anderson as he told you. You, on the other hand, felt a great need for liberation and craved freedom so it was no wonder you had your disagreements.
As time went on, your friendship seemed to have turned into something more and you'll never forget the day your lips met his for the first time. It was short, hurried but oh so sweet... It was a kiss that left a lingering warmth on your mouth and a taste of thirium on your tongue you never wanted to get rid of. God, it knocked the air right out of your lungs…
A/N: god damn, why am I so mean to Connor in my fics? always hurting the poor boy
Not longer than a week later you were officially dating and life seemed to be perfect. In a shitty apartment, in a sketchy part of town, at least you had Connor and Connor had you. He had a place and a someone to come back to after work, to love and to cherish and you never had to be alone again, spending time with a man you considered to be your soulmate.
After some time you learned to be intimate with each other. Even though the physique of the RK800 model was limited only to its primary functions- being a detective and assisting human detectives, therefore, he did not have the parts you did as a domestic model, you soon found a way to connect with one another, a way humans never could and it was so much better.
When Connor told you he was moved to different cases and he never had to harm an android ever again it was the happiest day of your life. Finally, you didn't have to pretend you didn't see anything that was going on and the endless arguments you had at night would stop. It was paradise.
But… You were so quick to get used to that bliss. Bliss, you soon realized was merely another bluff you fell for.
You thought you knew everything there was about Connor. You promised to never keep secrets from each other, to always share everything, every experience, every bit of happiness, every sadness, all the anger and the pain and you PROMISED to always be there for each other… Why did he lie? Why did he not tell you earlier? Did he not trust you when you said you'll always be there for him? When you said you love him?
You showed him everything. Every snippet of your life, you held back nothing, not even your worst moments.
When he admitted to his lie… All you could see was a machine. The tears running from its eyes… It was all just protocols running in its systems. All fake… You couldn't tell anymore if anything you went through with it was real. If the emotions it displayed weren't just another part of its program. If by showing it your past you didn't incriminate and potentially kill yourself.
You didn't know if it was going to shoot you in a second or not.
You didn't know if you were its next mission or if you were the mission all along.
So?
You did the only logical thing that came to your mind…
You ran.

"Losing people hurts."- Markus x human!reader
Warnings: angst
__________
Losing people hurts. And it hurts bad. When you lose someone so special to you there's this sudden realization that washes over you that we are not, in fact immortal. People die, grass withers, flowers fade and nothing is infinite. Or that used to be the case.
In a time where androids- intelligent and in theory immortal beings roam the world, said mortality has much more of a significance so losing a loved one, especially to disease or an unfortunate turn of circumstances is that much more devastating.
Carl Manfred, your father is dead and your brother, the one who caused it was left unaccountable. Markus was gone and the revolution is coming.
As you stood there, in the snowy graveyard, looking down at the familiar name written in stone and you thought about all the things that lead to this very moment you found yourself so incredibly lonely and so hopeless.
You wondered where Markus was. Was he even still alive? He was in the morning when you saw him on the news but hell, so much changes in mere hours these days, you could never be sure.
You worried so much about him. Ever since the tragedy happened you haven't seen him in person and you missed him immensely but you knew that it was impossible to see him now. He was, after all quite possibly the most talked about person now, and the first entry on the most wanted list.
Markus was always very important to you. There was a special bond between the two of you. One your brother was always trying to convince you was fake but the second you saw your Markus standing there, the leader of the revolution as they marched down Detroit you knew that it was all true. You loved Markus and he was so much more than a machine. He loved you.
You were so damn scared too. If you lost him too after all this, chances were you wouldn't survive it.
Then, a soft crunch of snow next to you pulled you from your thoughts. Startled, you looked to your side.
There he was… Like a vision, a ghost maybe. He was real.
“Hello Y/N.” He said softly.
“Markus…” You sighed in relief immediately wrapping your arms around him. Markus squeezed you tightly in his big arms, pressing a quick kiss to your forehead. For a moment, you couldn't speak. It felt so unreal to be in his arms again and yet there you were.
“I missed you so much.” He whispered.
“God I...I thought I'll never see you again.” You whimpered in response, clutching to his body like you were afraid he'd disappear if you didn't. “What are you doing here?” You asked, your gaze roaming his face. You noticed that one of his green eyes was blue instead but other than that, he was just as you remembered.
“I came here…” He stopped for a second and sighed. “I… I suppose I just wanted to visit Carl and talk to him.” You nodded understandingly.
“Yeah so did I.” You said and pulled away from Markus. He looked at you sadly and reached out to take your hand.
“How've you been?” He asked, making you chuckle.
“Shitty. Lonely. Worried all the time.” Markus pouted, sudden feeling of guilt overwhelming him.
“It's all my fault I'm...I'm sorry I brought all this on you Y/N.” You frowned and shook your head in confusion.
“Wait...What are you talking about Markus?”
“It's… Ah damn it…” Markus let go of your hand and walked around the pavement in frustration before finally stopping and looking down at his feet. “It's my fault Carl died. If I just-”
“-Don't you DARE say that Markus!” You snapped at him. “My father's death was NOT your fault! If it wasn't for Leo's addiction and his idiotic jealousy none of this would've happened. You're not guilty of anything Markus.”
“But I…”
“You seriously have way more important things to care about than me right now.” You interrupted him again. Within seconds, Markus was already standing inches away from you, staring down at you like you just killed a man.
“Y/N…”
“No, Markus. I've seen you on TV. What you're doing and fighting for is amazing and that's what you need to focus on right now. When it's all over, when you win, and I know you will then and only then do I allow you to think about me okay?” Markus shook his head.
“I always think about you.” You smiled, running your hands down his arms.
“Dad would be so proud of you…” You said, a single tear rolling down your cheek as you stared down at Markus's feet. He noticed this and pulled you into another hug. The moment your face made contact with his chest you felt all your restraints release and nothing could stop the downpour of tears that fell from your eyes. Markus slowly caressed your head as you wept silently into his coat.
Then, you grabbed two fistfulls of his clothes and through gritted teeth hissed out. “Fuck up the humans Markus. Make them pay for everything they did.” Such hatred for your kind was filling you at that very moment. You hated everything humans were. You hated their flaws and their stupidity and you hated how they ruined your life in mere minutes. You hated being human. Markus leaned down and cupped your tear stained cheeks in his hands. He glared at you with fire in his eyes. You knew he hated them too now. You didn't blame him.
“God damn the whole fucking world and every human in it.” He growled back with equal force as you, rubbing his thumbs against your cheeks. “But not you, Y/N.”*
You looked up at him with glossy eyes but only for a second because immediately after saying that, Markus pressed his lips tightly against yours.
It felt unreal. Not only that, but you knew how dangerous this was. After all, any relationship with an android was forbidden now more than ever, especially Markus.
But you didn't much care.
You cupped his face too, giving in into the sweet gesture, kissing him back and it felt so wrong right and yet so right…
When the kiss was over, and it lasted for a long while, you couldn't help but realize that this is where you'll have to part ways yet again.
“When will I see you again?” You asked quietly, almost whispering. There was no need for speaking loudly, you were still so close.
“I don't know.” He replied and you just nodded.
“I see.” Markus moved his hands away, his warmth leaving your face. “Please take care of yourself Markus. I… I don't want to lose you too.” He smiled softly.
“I would never.”
“I love you.”
“And I love you.”
With that, with a brush of his lips against yours, he was gone, like a shadow until fate decided for you to meet again.
Losing people hurts.

"Late night" - Connor x detective!reader
Thanks for the request @todorokiwolf! (I'll get to that Markus one ASAP 😅)
No warnings needed. Just sum fluff with Concon ❤
'One last paper. I can do this.’ You thought to yourself as you looked around your desk. Finished and unfinished case reports , as well as empty coffee mugs, were piling up on its surface. Some threatened to fall down any second, holding up with only the sheer force of your will.
You promised yourself to never procrastinate writing out the case files after the last time when you realized that you had to hand them over to Captain Fowler the next day and you haven't even placed a single finger on them yet. Now, you promised yourself that and in the end you did it again… Damn Gavin Reed to hell... It was all his fault. He was always on your ass, trying to convince you to go on a date with with him, go grab a coffee, hangout after work etc etc etc.
While you would usually find it quite flattering that someone would be so interested in your person, detective Reed was just insufferable. To put it nicely… You despised him.
The way he talked to people and treated them. The way he treated Connor, your fellow detective and also an android, made you incredibly angry. Connor did twice the amount of work that he did and he was CLEARLY a better cop than Reed was and yet somehow the latter still acted like other was less of a person than he was.
Yes.
Insufferable is a good way to describe Gavin Reed.
So, now here you were. Sitting at your desk at the department, 10pm in the evening so exactly four hours later than your shift has ended. You were the last person to stay around in the office and frankly, your mind wasn't really working too well by that hour.
You licked the tip of your thumb and turned the page in your case report, sighing loudly, exhausted beyond reason.
The report was on some stabbing but you'd be damned if it wasn't the most fucked up and confusing one you ever investigated. The amount of work you put into this was ridiculous. The whole investigation was filled with false accusations motivated only by money because why would it be anything else, witnesses bribed into silence and so many twists and turns you almost gave up a couple times. In the end, though, you managed to pull through and now you were suffering the consequences of solving the damn thing as well as the hours you procrastinated by trying to avoid Gavin.
So in conclusion, the paper was long, the deadline was soon and it was all Reed's fault, obviously...
That asshole…
You were pulled out of your thoughts by someone gently rubbing your shoulder, immediately activating your fight or flight response. You gasped and swung your arm at whoever was touching you before your fist was caught by a strong and firm hand. You rubbed your eyes tiredly and looked up.
“Connor? Jesus fuck, you scared the shit out of me.” You exhaled in relief.
“I apologize for startling you, detective Y/L/N.” He said in his usual calm, collected voice and let go of your fist.
“It's…. It's okay.” You waved your hand dismissively and turned back to your papers. “What are you still doing here Connor? Shouldn't you be...out?” You wanted to say home but to be fair… You didn't really know where exactly Connor goes after work.
“I came back to redeem a piece of old evidence to return it to CyberLife for research purposes. I was surprised to see you still at your desks so I came over.” You nodded and mouthed an ‘oh'. “I could ask you the same question detective. Your shift ended four hours ago.” When you didn't respond to him, Connor leaned down to look at you. Your eyes were closed and you were only holding yourself up with one arm propped against the desk. The corner of Connor’s mouth twitched, curling upwards though he couldn't quite tell why. His hand made its way back to your shoulder, caressing it gently. “Detective?” He lightly shook you to wake you up. You gasped again, this time you didn't raise your fist though. Instead, you glanced up at Connor sleepily and leaned back into your chair, resting the top of your head against his person.
“I'm...I'm just…” You started, trying really hard to form a sentence but your mind was giving up on words. You realized then that Connor had a particularly comfortable arm to lay your head on. “One more case file and I'll…go...”
“I don't think that would be wise Y/N.”
Wait.
Connor addressing to you by your first name surprised you. It surprised you enough that for a second you frowned realizing what position you were in and quickly, you moved away, embarrassed. You looked up at him in confusion before quickly turning your gaze away when you noticed his brown dough eyes fixated on you.
You felt like you were drunk...
“I think you should head home for the night Y/N. It's not safe for your health to stay up so late at work and risk falling asleep here.” You shook your head.
“No...I'll take care of it today...I'm okay I'm just a little… Distracted.” You explained. Connor let out a soft chuckle.
“That is one way to put it, definitely.” A tired grin spread across your face. “You are very endearing when you're half asleep detective, however, I must insist.” Your smile faltered as you felt yourself blush. Endearing huh?
“Connor…”
“I'm going to retrieve the evidence and once I come back I insist that you come with me.” You frowned.
“Come with you?” You asked, confused. Connor smiled and leaned down to your ear.
“I wouldn't want a lady to be traveling alone at this hour especially in the state you are right now Y/N. It'd be dangerous.” You eyes widened and you nodded quickly, so embarrassed and at the same time so tired your mind couldn't quite cope. He moved away and started walking towards the evidence room, turning around for a second. “Please pack your things. I'll be gone for only a minute, then we shall leave.”
____
With the small ziplock bag containing the evidence in his pocket, Connor returned to your desk only to find you laying the top part of your body on your desk, snoring softly. Your bag was next to you on the floor, packed neatly with all of your belongings.
Another smile curled on Connor’s lips and he still couldn't say why it was happening but… When he looked at you, dozing away on that desk he couldn't help but feel a warm wave rush through him. His systems detected no anomaly and yet the feeling was always there.
Connor picked up your bag, holding it in one hand and gently shook you with the other, waking you up.
“I'm ready to go now.” He said calmly. You nodded and slowly got yourself up with a little help from him.
You waddled out the building, yawning every couple seconds before reaching the street. A self driving cab stood outside, already waiting for you. Connor helped you in before sitting down next to you and closing the cab door.
“32 Piedmont street please.” Connor said, before you even had a chance. You looked at him surprised.
“Oh I see how it is.” You chuckled, punching his arm lightly. “You stalker.” Connor smirked and sat back in the seat.
As you drove down the dark streets of Detroit, you grew more and more sleepy and soon you were, again, tipping to the side every so often, only catching yourself in the last second. Connor definitely noticed that.
“Y/N,” You glanced in his direction.
“Yes?”
“If you're having trouble holding yourself up, I'd be happy to lend you my shoulder.” He said, almost shyly. You smiled and nodded, scooting closer to Connor’s side. Slowly you put your head down to rest against him and you closed your eyes, relaxing your muscles. Connor kept staring at you with a gentle smile playing on his lips until your heart rate slowed down and your breathing turned even, letting him know that you dozed off. He moved his hand to your lap, tracing circles on your thigh as you slept.
_______
“Y/N, we're here.” Connor woke you up for the nth time that night. You rubbed your eyes.
“Ok.” You mumbled against his arm, pulling away and sitting up. He was the first to climb out, extending his arm to help you out. Connor lead you to your door before taking a step back. You fumbled with your keys before finally unlocking the door. You turned back to him with a lazy smile. “Thanks for taking me home Connor. It really means a lot.”
“My pleasure.” He replied, bowing his head. You stood there for a second in silence, just...Staring at each other. Neither of you said anything but both of you desperately wanted to. There was just no words that would accurately describe what you wanted to say, even more when your mind was so preoccupied with being half asleep all the time. “I...I should go now.” Connor pulled you both out of the trance.
“Oh, right, right…” You nodded, understanding. Connor smiled at you and awkwardly turned on his heel, walking back to the cab. You thought for a second that maybe you should say something more, thank him more. After all, he did take the time to make sure you're home safe. “Connor!” You yelled, making him turn around.
“Yes Y/N?”
“I...I owe you one.” You smiled shyly. He just nodded and you could swear you saw a tint of blue blush on his cheeks before he turned around again and disappeared into the cab, driving away into the night.
You smiled to yourself, a weird warm feeling washing over you and it wasn't because you still felt his shoulder on your cheek or his lingering touch on your thigh where he circled. You felt...safe. Safe knowing that Connor cares about you.
'Working with him will definitely be a lot more awkward now.' You thought.
