i need to debate with someone on the 1 billion lions vs every pokemon argument to cleanse my soul.
the pokemon win and it isn’t even remotely close. all the pokemon could win again 100 billion lions and it still wouldn’t be a close fight debate me

The 1 Billion Lions vs Every Pokemon debate is really funny to me because without fail the pokemon fans will take the debate way too seriously and come up with actual arguments as to why the pokemon would win, and all the lion defenders have to do is come up with shit like a Lion Catapult or the Lion Orbital Strike and they win every time

Debate on every pokemon vs 1 billion lions I think Miyuki would be on the side of the lions and drive all his opponents up the wall.
For reference refer to the Schlatt vs Jaiden debate on it (first one) I think he'd use the same talking points she did lmao
#Im on the lions side btw#so dead serious about this damn question#but idk much about pokemon#while we're here have a list of people I think bet on the lions#Kominato Ryousuke#Okumura Koushuu#Shirasu Kenjiro#Yūki Tetsuya#Furuya Satoru#Furuya would just say Pokemon don't exist and think that's enough of a point to win#Daiya no Ace#Ace of Diamond

Ok I saw the 1 Billion Lions vs 1 of every Pokemon debate on twitter again and wanna add something to it.
One thing I think we should do is separate it into 4 different categories since Pokemon is such a wide spread thing with so many different mediums and rule sets.
TCG logic vs Lions
Anime logic vs Lions
Videogame logic vs Lions
Lore logic vs Lions
TCG:
I actually know nothing about the TCG so you'll have to discuss that in the notes
Anime:
I haven't seen all of the Pokemon anime but its fair to say that this would probably be the most evenly matched. The Lions having an advantage in Numbers and the Pokemon in basically magic idk. In the Anime Pokemon are very similar to animals, though arguably more sentient and capable of communication with humans wich could be an argument for higher intelligence. At the end I think the Pokemon could win simply by the nature of basically being magical creatures.
Videogames:
Similar to Anime logic, but honestly considering Pokemons limited move poll and pp + only seeing attacks hit a max of 2-3 aponents at once, its fair to assume that videogame Pokemon could in fact, not beat 1 Billion Lions
Lore logic:
Yeah no debate here going by just lore you could probably make a team of 6 (to be fair legendarys and ultrabeasts) and wipe out the Lions without to much issues. Lore for some singular Pokemon is actually insane, a big amount of overgrown cats isn't gonna be able to do much I'm afraid.

I am now going to make a semi-sincere argument for the lions
Game rules: if its treated as a massive team battle then the lions just need to outspeed earthquake spam. given the fact that earthquake is a ground type move and ground types are (typically) not very fast at all that would make the lions a clear winner, taking 1 BILLION turns before the majority of pokemon could move
Anime rules: you have to consider the fact that the lions might not be able to fly, but can still dodge. even in the anime pokemon get tired after attacking for a while, so maybe a charizard or salamance could attack from the air... for a while. but eventually it would need to sleep. and then its dead.
I have three proposals for ghost types
in the pokemon universe pokemon and humans have ghosts. this is not disputable. therefore lions would have ghosts too.
lions do not have infinity energy so their "bite"s wouldn't count as the move bite EXCEPT that humans can absorb infinity energy through long term exposure to pokemon. this means that some lions would be able to learn tackle, crunch and bite!
it is technically possible that ghost types would be unkillable, in this (unlikely) scenario pokemon would win.
its pretty simple actually, 1 billion lions is just way, way too many. even things like slugma would eventually be smothered by the sheer amount of attacking lions (I estimate 1000-100000 at the absolute maximum) the only pokemon that could stand a chance would be shedninja as it has the ability to only take damage from super-effective moves. unfortanately shedninja is a ghost type, and is as such susceptible to bitestrats (described above)
I think people assume too much about 1 billion lions vs every pokemon, charizard needs sleep too! even a hyper beam in the anime takes it out of the pokemon using it. absolute best case for the lions ends up with a mountain of dead lions slowly smothering the cornered pokemon.
counterpoint: what if they were all the 1 billion lions and all the 1000 something pokemon were friends 🥺

The 1 billion lions vs every Pokemon debate is fucking stupid and those who say the lions would win think the only pokemon that exists are Pikachu and Rattata.
Pokemon has:
-Yveltal, Legendary Pokemon of destruction, if their life is coming to an end, they'll drain the life energy of everyone around them, thus killing them. If the lions kill Yveltal, they doomed themselves because Yveltal will drain the life out of them all.
-Arceus, the Pokemon God, do the math here.
-Dialga, Legendary Pokemon of time, they could just travel back in time to make sure lions never exist, or just freeze them in time forever.
-Giratina, lord of antimatter, they could just send every lion to Distortion World, a lot of them would fall into the void.
-Hoopa, their rings can teleport anyone anywhere, so they could just teleport all the lions to a volcano
And lastly:
-Victini, it is said if you have a Victini with you, you're guaranteed to win every battle. If the Pokemon keep Victini safe, they're guaranteed to win.
And i'm talking about legendaries here based off Pokedex entries, but even if we didn't count that, not even 1000 lions could do anything to a Steelix who is purely made of metal, and don't get me started if we Mega-Evolve them.

random question but
1 billion lions VS every Pokémon
who would win. ( personally I think the lions would win ngl…)
Hmm... I'm not versed in the actual count of Pokemon, and I would say, do you mean 1 of each Pokemon? Or *all* of them?
I feel like All of them would amount to more than 1 billion, so let's go with an assumption of one of each.
My money's on the Pokemon, honestly. Lions are pack hunters, so the numbers would be some advantage for them, but only the lionesses know how to fight. They generally outnumber the males, so there wouldn't be too much loss there, but also they're not coordinated nor do they work well with others outside of their pack.
Plus, frankly, they just don't have the same diversity of capacity. The utility available to even the lowliest of Pokemon is far and above what a lion has available, and that's not even touching the Literal Gods that are part of the Pokemon pantheon.
One Jiggly Puff and a speaker could put whole swathes of lions to sleep without much effort. Especially since lions do love to sleep.
I'm not sure I'd give the lions good odds even if the only Pokemon they were up against was Mew, to be honest. Generally averse to battling, if it's either one or the other to be left for survival, Mew wouldn't hesitate.
I... didn't expect to answer this so in-depth, considering I have a neutral love of Pokemon and I'm not a massive fan, but there you go xD

I know the 1 billion lions vs 1 of every pokemon thing is supposed to be absurd and in most cases bait, but in all honesty if pokemon were in our real world and needed to fight lions, it'd be a draw because Macargo has a surface temperature of 10,000C /18,000F.
That is the temperature of the sun.
Nothing would be alive and the earth would burn.
because of this friendly fire snail.

1 billion lions vs 1 of every pokemon
what a flawed question that is, pokemons power is very inconsistent. are we talking about how they would battle in game? are we talking about how the Pokedex describes them? are we going off the anime?
does slugma just existing mean a win for pokemon?
how do the lions plan on taking on guzzlord or gigantamax eternatus?
can deoxys just stay in space and wait for the lions to die of natural causes?
how does pyroar feel about this battle?
realistically wouldnt bidoof just kill all the lions at once?
these are questions we need answers to

I know I'm probably massively late for the discussion, but 1 billion lions vs one of every pokemon has to be one of the best trolls on the Internet.
Like, I'm not master of the lore, but I know it enough to be sure that pokemons win, BUT that being said, if you ask me? I'm gonna fight teeth and nail on the side of lions, no matter what will think about I'm gonna counter it.
Pokemons have god? That's cute, lion atheism.
Eq stab? Can't hit it if all lions are on lion planes.
Dialga can time travel? Lion time travel negation field.
Lions have bite which is dark type move so it eliminates ghost types argument.
I can keep going whole day, so if you think you can take me bring it on.
