Gli ospiti del Lucca Comics & Games 2018

Quando e dove trovare i principali ospiti di quest’anno. 

Mancano ormai pochi giorni all’edizione di quest’anno del Lucca Comics & Games, l’evento che più di ogni altro catalizza l’attenzione di tutti gli appassionati di fumetti, videogiochi e animazione. Fra eventi, stand, mostre e quant’altro, ecco gli artisti per i quali varrà la pena farsi una lunga coda.

Junji Ito nasce nella prefettura di Gifu nel 1963. Il suo debutto, avvenuto nel 1986 fra le pagine della rivista “Monthly Halloween” dell'editore Asahi Sonorama, gli vale la menzione d’onore alla prima edizione del Premio Umezz. Tra le sue opere più conosciute troviamo “Tomie”, Uzumaki”, “Gyo” (dalla quale è stato tratto un film animato da ufotable), “Kubitsuri kikyu”, “Nagai yume”, “Amigara dansou no kai”, “Shibito no koiwazurai”, “Ito Junji no neko nikki - Yon & Mu.” Attualmente sta lavorando a “Ningen shikkaku” (Lo squalificato), basato sull'omonimo romanzo di Osamu Dazai. La scorso inverno è andata in onda la serie animata “Junji Ito Collection”, rodotta da Studio Deen e disponibile, sottotitolata in italiano, su Crunchyroll. 

Il maestro dell’orrore sarà ospite a Lucca Comics & Games in collaborazione con Star Comics.

Masters Of Horror, parte 1

La Villa Diodati del terzo millennio: Junji Ito, Dave McKean, Alberto Dal Lago e il regista Ruggero Deodato (accompagnato dall'artista spagnolo Miguel Angel Martin), saranno protagonisti di Masters of Horror, evento speciale di Lucca 2018 per celebrare all'insegna della creatività e dell'eccellenza il bicentenario della pubblicazione di Frankenstein. Un incontro al crepuscolo della notte di Halloween in cui artisti straordinari potranno ispirarsi a vicenda, creando nuovi contenuti nella splendida cornice di Lucca.

Masters Of Horror, parte 2

Il grande pubblico incontrerà gli artisti e le opere realizzate durante la prima parte.

Leiji Matsumoto (pseudonimo di Akira Matsumoto) ha debuttato nel 1954 ancora liceale, vincendo a un concorso il primo premio per il suo lavoro “Le avventure di un’ape” (“Mitsubachi no Bouken”). Inizia a lavorare sugli shoujo manga, pubblicati su riviste femminili con cui attira l’attenzione del grande pubblico. Passa in seguito a serie per ragazzi, specializzandosi in quelle di fantascienza che lo hanno reso celebre, caratterizzate dal suo tratto più attento alle suggestioni che al realismo. Tra i suoi capolavori vanno segnalati i pluripremiati “Otoko Oidon”, “Galaxy Express 999”, “La corazzata Yamato”. Nel 1979 esce la versione anime di “Galaxy Express 999”, campione d’incassi di quell’anno al botteghino. Ma il sensei è conosciuto e apprezzato nel mondo, soprattutto in Italia e Francia oltre che in Giappone, per la saga di “Capitan Harlock”.

Ha ricevuto tutti i principali premi e onorificenze nel mondo, tra cui la Purple Medal of Honour in Giappone e l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in Francia. Tra le sue varie attività odierne, è professore di Contenuti Multimediali alla Takarazuka University e visiting professor alla Sangro University di Kyoto.

Mikio Ikemoto esordisce con “Cosmos”, una breve storia pubblicata nel 1997 e nel 1999 sulla rivista settimanale Shonen Jump della Shueisha. Dopo aver lavorato a “Naruto” come assistente di Masashi Kishimoto, nel 2016 sempre su Shonen Jump dà vita a “Boruto”, uno spin-off dell'opera di Kishimoto sceneggiato da Ukyo Kodachi, del quale è in onda l’anime, sottotitolato in italiano, su Crunchyroll.

L’artista sarà ospite a Lucca Comics & Games in collaborazione con Panini Comics.

Incontro con il disegnatore di “Boruto” Mikio Ikemoto, l’editor di “Boruto” Hikaru Taguchi e l’Editor in Chief di Weekly Shonen Jump (già editor di “Naruto”) Hiroyuki Nakano.

Shintaro Kago, classe ’69, è un fumettista giapponese creatore del sottogenere “ero guro” definito “fashionable paranoia”. Artista affermato a livello internazionale, le sue opere sono pubblicate ed esposte in tutto il mondo nelle più prestigiose gallerie underground. Tra le sue più importanti collaborazioni ha curato copertina e illustrazioni interne dell'LP del celebre gruppo musicale Flying Lotus. A Lucca Comics & Games 2014 ha vinto il prestigioso premio Gran Guinigi come miglior fumetto breve. Dal 2015 ha iniziato a pubblicare i suoi nuovi lavori in esclusiva per Hollow Press e in occasione di Lucca Comics & Games 2018 torna ancora come ospite per presentare il quarto ed ultimo volume della sua nuova serie “Day of the Flying Head”.

L’autore sarà ospite a Lucca Comics & Games in collaborazione con Hollow Press.

Shintaro Kago, maestro del manga, ha diretto molti cortometraggi dove il suo stile bizzarro ed estremamente riconoscibile è ancora più potente.

Nell’ambito euromanga saranno invece ospiti di Mangasenpai due autori (per l’elenco completo vi rimandiamo al calendario degli incontri diffuso dall’editore):

Se il 2017 è stato l’anno dell’arrivo di “Radiant” in Italia, il 2018, con oltre 30.000 copie vendute finora nel nostro paese “Radiant” rappresenta una delle maggiori realtà del fumetto italiano, grazie anche ad una distribuzione capillare che ha portato il titolo nella rete Mondadori, oltreché nelle fumetterie italiane. 

Tony Valente, colpito dall’incredibile successo di pubblico riscosso alla scorsa Lucca, torna anche quest’anno allo stand Mangasenpai per festeggiare con tutti i lettori di “Radiant” (e ai curiosi che ancora non lo conoscono!) l’incredibile successo del suo fumetto nel mondo, di recente diventato anche un anime in Giappone, realizzato dallo studio Lerche, attualmente in simulcast per l’Italia su Crunchyroll. Proprio per questo, in Francia è stata pubblicata una speciale collector edition in occasione del traguardo del decimo volumetto, mentre in Italia abbiamo voluto omaggiare questo bravissimo autore con una variant cover del mitico volume 1, ormai giunto al traguardo delle 10.000 copie. E non è tutto qui, a Lucca infatti saranno disponibili tutti i numeri della serie regolare e verrà anche presentato in anteprima il 7° volume, che andrà in distribuzione solo a novembre.

Mangasenpai è orgogliosissima di avere nuovamente ospite tutti i giorni in Fiera a Lucca Comics & Games Tony Valente.

Dalla Germania la bravissima Marika Herzog. La talentosa autrice, già pubblicata dalla casa editrice nei due volumi raccolta "Comic2Byte”, vede infatti a Lucca la pubblicazione del suo recente lavoro edito da Egmont Manga in Germania “Whispering Blue”, uno stupendo volume unico in genere boy’s love, dall’approccio delicato e gentile, incentrato sul tema dell’accettazione. Marika Herzog, in arte Chasm, sarà presente allo stand per tutti i giorni della Fiera.
