[Reporter Oh Hyung-joon] I met LABOUM, who is actively working with member Soyeon's self-composed song 'Body Temperature [Between Us]'. Laboum, who returned with a high quality song and a new concept enough to hear the term "rediscovery of Laboum," defined himself as a "creative girl group."

Laboum, who took off [their] cute appearance and returned with a more mature and sensual charm, perfectly digested the dreamy and chic concept with the charm of 5 people and 5 colors. After changing into comfortable denim clothes, LABOUM finished the photo shoot by creating a natural and bright atmosphere of their own.

In the interview that followed after filming, I first heard about the reason Soyeon's self-composed song became the title. ZN[Jinyea] said, “I liked it as soon as I heard it. We continued to express our opinions to the company to make it a title,” she said, expressing her affection for ‘Body Temperature [Between Us]’.

When I asked Soyeon about the background of the song 'Body Temperature [Between Us]', she said, "Sometimes I feel lonely or think, 'I wish I had someone I like by my side'. I think I wrote the song while thinking about things like longing for human Body Temperature [Between Us], anxious feelings if someone is not around me," she recalled her emotion when making the song.

"I also thought about a sudden change of route. ZN and Haein said, 'I wanted to show a mature appearance that fits my age naturally.' As I went with the natural flow, I came out with a song called Body Temperature [Between Us] and started to work," he said, adding that the concept of the album was decided.

The preparation process must have been different as it was [a] completely different [concept] from before. Solbin said, "The members had a meeting once a week and shared many opinions with the company. It is an album with a high level of participation by all the staff,” and Haein said, “I made a PPT for the first time since middle school. At the time of the meeting, we organized the music, video concept, and jacket photo concept we wanted,” she said showing the members' high participation and passionate attitude at the time of production.

Next, we asked ZN[Jinyea], who is currently working on group Uni.T activities, how it feels to be active in both groups. “After meeting many people, things like mind control and skills on stage seem to improve. The bad thing is that my stamina is slowly running out. When I was promoting with Uni.T, I used the dormitory of Uni.T, but when I was promoting with LABOUM, I used the dormitory for LABOUM.” she said, expressing her feelings of living under two roofs.

Looking back at the time when Haein and Yujeong appeared on KBS's 'Idol Rebooting Project The Unit', they said, "I never thought I would go on a survival program. But I thought, ‘I can show you a side that I couldn’t show with LABOUM’. It was a time where I learned a lot and I tried things I had never done before. It was a good experience,” she said, saying that appearing in ‘The Unit’ has been a great experience for them.

I was able to hear Laboum's thoughts on diet. Solbin, who became a hot topic for the chickpea diet, said, "It was a really extreme diet when I only ate chickpeas. I also experienced the yo-yo phenomenon and the stress was so great that I felt the need for a healthy and happy diet after that. Now I'm enjoying it," she said. Haein then said, "As long as you don't quit the girl group, dieting is your destiny. Now I don't do it recklessly. Little by little, I seem to have learned how to diet happily.”

Leader Yujeong confessed her hardships as a leader. “I have thoughts like ‘I have to do everything well’, ‘I have to be an example’, if I go wrong, everything will go wrong. I am human too, so I can be wrong, but I can't tolerate it. But there are many times when I feel proud. "I feel proud when the members recognize what is difficult even if I don't say it, when you feel that your skills have grown a lot since the beginning of your debut, even if I talk a little bit, I feel proud to let the members take care of themselves and move on.”

Haein also expressed apologetic feelings towards their leader. “Yujeong unnie has a strong sense of responsibility as a leader. She cares more about the younger members than anyone else and tries not to show her hardships. I worry a lot by myself, but I'm sorry that we don't seem to understand that part."

When asked if the members often drink alcohol, Soyeon said, "I drink small amounts when I'm not active. Little by little at or near the dormitory. There seems to be no member who drinks well, and Yujeong, Haein, and Soyeon are the three people who enjoy drinking.”

Solbin also tells the story of shedding tears in front of ZN[Jinyea]. “A person who does not know her may judge that she is simple and thinks only of herself. She is a passionate person who is immersed in her work. But at some point, I caught her off guard. I pick up the hard part of myself and say it. I don't think you're interested in me, but you're watching everything. Then I cry my eyes out and talk about all the difficulties. She praised ZN[Jinyea] attentiveness, which was different from her appearance.

Soyeon praised Haein's fashion sense. Regarding Haein, who recommends styles that fit the members’ body types and images, Soyeon said, “When shopping online, I always show her first. When asked about her recent interests, Yujeong proudly said that she had recently obtained a barista license, and quarreled that most of the members are obsessed with internet shopping. When asked if there is a difference that only LABOUM has in the flood of idols, Haein said without hesitation, "I have the ability to digest any concept." Solbin continued, “Didn’t Yoojung unnie write ‘Be the light’, and Soyeon unnie write ‘XOXO’ and ‘Body Temperature [Between Us]’? They are a versatile girl group. Also, the choreography of the second song is always choreographed by the members themselves. It's a highly engaged and creative girl group," she said, expressing her pride in the group.

Four months left in 2018. When asked what she would like to achieve within this year, ZN[Jinyea] chose to attend the year-end awards ceremony. Solbin continued, “Performance is important, but I think being healthy and happy is the most important thing. If you are happy, it means that you have achieved the desired result. I hope that both the company and the fans are happy and healthy.” They also had time to imagine what they would be like 10 years from now. Some depicted the future of getting married and meeting babies like S.E.S., and expressed their ambition to remain a legendary group like a myth.

Lastly, I asked what they wanted to say to the fans. Haein said, “Even though there was a one-year hiatus, thank you for waiting and cheering hard. There are a lot of new fans, but I hope that they will all become one family and be together forever.” Solbin asked fans to take care of their throats.
