Miguel O’hara Masterlist

Miguel glances at his phone yet again, admittedly a little worried. The cute cafe you work at had been busy today, filled to the brim with customers. When you had texted him earlier that you would be late for your movie night, he understood. In return, he had replied that he could eventually pick you up, asking at what time you would be done. You haven't responded though, probably too occupied with cleaning the place.

It's thankfully not too late just yet, but it's started raining dogs and cats since about an hour back. He just hopes you'll catch the bus to HQ.

Thankfully, he doesn't have to wait all too long, a sudden knock at his door sounding through his room.

His room is admittedly bigger than the other spiders' rooms who stay. His looking more like an apartment, the only thing missing is a livingroom and a diningroom. It's basically a small studio apartment.

It doesn't take him long to open the door. The first thing he notices when he does so is that you're completely drenched. 

He sighs as he lets you in.

" Why didn't you take the bus? " He asks, going straight to the point.

" Because I would have to wait more than thirty minutes. Walking was faster. Hello to you too by the way." You roll your eyes.

He doesn't miss the shivering of your body.

" Yeah, hey. You should've called me. " He scolds you, yet again.

" Yeah, yeah. I won't die from a little rain Miguel, relax." You tell him, before sniffing once you've taken your shoes off.

The two of you suddenly find yourself in a bit of an awkward stare. The one where his thoughts are running through his head and you're really trying to figure it out without communicating.

' Yeah. she's going to be sick tomorrow.'

'Bet he's thinking about throwing some pizzas in'

" Are you thinking of pizzas?"  You ask him, making him blink.

" Yes, totally. Go shower while I throw them in the oven." He tells you, turning his back to you.

You blink, confused. You don't have a change of your clothes lying around at his place. However, before any words can leave your now opened mouth, a bunch of clothes are thrown at you, along with a towel.

" Just wear my stuff, I don't care. Just don't want your ass sick in the morning." He says, hurriedly walking into the kitchen.

That was a lie, he actually very much does care. Especially about you wearing his stuff.

Miguel is a domestic man, especially after all he's been through. The idea of the two of you hanging out, cuddling up like you sometimes do, whilst wearing his clothes creates a pleasant image in his head.

It doesn't take long before you're out of the shower, and soon enough the two of you are eating pizza whilst arguing over what movie to watch. Eventually (after a whole while, the pizzas are actually already through), the two of you set on watching an action film.

And as the two of you move to sit on his bed like usual, he notices you glancing at him a little more than usual.

" What is it?" He asks as he glances back at you.

" Can we cuddle?" You ask him, biting your lip.

He gives you a smile as he nods.

" Sure."

He hopes you don't notice the slight blush on his cheeks.

When he wakes the next morning, he notices a few things. One, you're pressed up to his side, cuddling into his large frame, your face buried in his chest. Two, how well rested he feels. It's been a good while since he felt like this. And three, you're way too hot to not be sick.

With a soft sigh, he contemplates on his decision. He wants to stay home to take care of you, but he's also supposed to look for anomalies a few floors down.

It's embarrassing how quick he actually manages to make a decision. 

Would it even be worth fighting for the multiverse if you aren't in his?

And so he finds himself putting together an amount of hologram screens and such to be able to work from his apartment.

It takes a while before you wake up, but when you do, you merely turn on your ass and fall back asleep in a ridiculous position again. However, not too long after that, you wake again, looking around a little confused whilst you sit up. You wrap the blanket closer around you, wrapping yourself completely up in it with the exception of your face.

" Hm?" 

" I feel like a boiled sausage." You grunt in annoyance, before flopping down on his bed again.

He can't help but smile.

" I'm afraid you're sick, Perla." He tells you.

You curl up.

" What? No I'm not. Feel great'." You grumble sarcastically.

He shakes his head.

" What would you like for breakfast?" He asks in return.

You let out a dramatic sigh.

" Nothing, my stumic feels queasy- Wait, since when are you able to work from up here?" You ask, noticing he now actually has a chair in his room. And a desk. And a lot of screens.

" Since today. And still, you should eat." He says as he gets up.

Whilst he walks off to do whatever, you take a moment to study his new set up. You've never really paid any attention to his work before, not really liking 'office work' as you tend to call it. A moment later he returns, a plate with food in hand. He hands it to you wordlessly. You get up from his bed to eat (you're not a psycho).

" Soo, am I helping with work today?" You ask him, leaning onto his chair from behind him. You try to ignore the obvious shivers of your skin. You definitely have a fever.

He glances at you.

" No. You're going to lie down and rest. I'm going to work." He tells you before he gets up.

To your utter suprise, he turns to you, his huge posture suddenly looming over yours. With gentle hands, he leads you backwards to his bed, your knees bending when the back of your legs touch the bed. He bends down to maneuver the rest of your body onto the bed, getting you to lay sideways. He tucks you in aswell, before the two of you end up staring awkwardly at one another yet again.

" G'night." He greets you, before turning to his hologram screens again.

You watch him work for a moment, studying the screens as well. There's nothing interesting currently happening. It doesn't take long before you doze off.

Miguel watches you once you've fallen asleep fondly. He's really falling further and further into the feelings he's hiding for you. In moments like this, he believes he could do it. Maybe he could be happily in a relationship with you while also helping the multiverse. He shakes his head, running his hands over his face before sighing deeply. What the hell is he starting to think about? He's spiderman. He can't have you, no matter how bad he wants you.

With another deep sigh, he makes a hard decision.

He has to create space between the two of you.

Tão velha quanto a própria Lichendorf, a família Hoffman é conhecida por sua bravura e lealdade. Todos os homens que carregam o sobrenome devem, por tradição, se tornar soldados de Arcanjo Miguel. Não só isso, como também devem honrar essa responsabilidade. O sonho de Oswald e sua esposa era dar continuidade ao legado, mas depois de três filhas mulheres, parecia que a sua linhagem seria o fim da tradição. Isso até o nascimento de Walden. 

O caçula dos Hoffman cresceu com muitas expectativas sobre os seus ombros. Por algum motivo, seu pai acreditava que ele poderia ser o melhor dos guerreiros. Ainda que dedicassem a vida ao trabalho de proteger Arcanum, a família de Walden desprezava todas as criaturas sobrenaturais. Oswald sonhava que um dia os humanos pudessem retomar o poder da cidade e ninguém menos do que seu filho seria o responsável por tamanha revolução. O problema era que Walden nunca levou jeito para coisa. Quando criança morria de medo de todos aqueles monstros e na adolescência mostrou completo desinteresse pela guerra. 

Apesar de sua personalidade, não havia outro destino para um Hoffman que não fosse a guarda mortal. Começou seu treinamento aos 18 anos e aos poucos seu corpo foi ganhando forma, enquanto sua mente absorvia todas aquelas táticas de guerra. O medo foi disfarçado por um semblante arrogante. Quanto mais antipatia transbordasse, menos teria que lidar com aquelas criaturas horripilantes, pensava ele. Tudo seguia bem, na medida do possível até a chegada de Lúcifer na cidade. Walden nunca pensou que a vida pudesse piorar, mas agora que os outros soldados cochicham sobre uma nova disputa de poder, só consegue pensar que deve existir uma maneira de escapar desse lugar.

005. AZAZEL — De todas as criaturas que assombraram a sua infância, essa é a que Walden chama de pesadelo. Ele simplesmente tem pavor! Por mais que tente esconder, é nítido que quase molha as calças quando esse ser está por perto. 

006. MUSE 6 — É alguém que não suporta a forma como Walden deixa claro que não gosta dos seres sobrenaturais. Essa pessoa vive questionando suas atitudes e se ele é mesmo qualificado para o posto de soldado.

when it came to the bradford family, they were considered the perfect all american family. william a well known fashion photographer, who grew up with wealth but still made a name for himself. emma bradford, an attorney, who's story really inspired people that no matter where you come from you can still become someone. and the moment joshua was adopted, it was like he had the whole world at the palm of his hands. his parents encouraging him to do whatever his heart desired.

joshua's story could have been different though. the first five years of his life he was raised by an amazing woman, his birth mother, lucy davis. his father was never in the picture, and that was okay, because he had lucy. but one night after a shift at the night and dine, a storm was brewing. driving back home was more difficult than expected, and out of nowhere a truck came driving towards her, ending in disaster.

with no record of his father, and there not being a next of kin to take joshua, he was eventually placed with the bradfords, who fostered the young josh. and they had fallen in love with joshua, even when he was so quiet and timid to begin with, but once he felt comfortable, they love how thoughtful, creative and sweet he was. they knew that they wanted him, and they decided to adopt him.

growing up with the bradfords, he was coming to his own. he loved his parents, and he loved what they did, always interested in what they do, specifically with his father's photography. his creative side being shown more and more, it was clear where his interest lied. so his parents had gotten him his first camera at thirteen. and his love for photography grew, amongst the rest of the arts.

he had accomplished a lot in his quarter life. winning photo competitions, going to college, and graduating with a business and photography degree. and now, he wants help young artist fulfill their dreams just like he was fulfilling his own. but there was still one thing he wanted to do before he started it all, he wanted to find who his birth father is. the problem was, there was no information on him. and he felt like it was finding a needle in a haystack. but he wasn't going to give up.

a love so powerful: this is the person that joshua never saw coming. yes, he has been in relationships before, and has hooked up with others, but this man really was someone he fell for first. the thing was, did he even feel the same? he never got so flustered like this before. and josh really is stuck feeling like that one awkward teenager he once was.

you are my brother: can be someone he grew up with and they are inseparable or possible the bradford's birth child. either way, him and joshua have been attached to the hip, and whenever one is around, so is the other. so watch out, cause they might bring some chaos.

best friends for life: if there was one person josh confided in practically everything, it was always his best friend. she's the girl that he tended to gravitate around for years, they even shared their first kiss together, and tried the dating, but decided that being friends was the right move. she's the one he always cared what she thought.

from bully to friends: it's crazy how the jock and the art kid once to hate each other. tale as old as time. but growing up had changed them both. one night out together and they ended up having a good time. who would have thought these unlikely duo would be good friends.

A/n: I really enjoyed this request!! I feel like I could go on forever on this dynamic. Is this me projecting my lack of a father figure on to a fictional character? Perhaps.

It took .003 seconds from you entering the dojo to when his eyes caught on you, and the theatrics began.

    “Hey,” Hawk nudged Miguel, shrugging off the top of his gi nonchalantly, as though it wasn't an obvious attempt to obtain your attention. “look. Recoloured the hawk to Red. Gotta keep him up with the times.”

Miguel didn't even have to look back to ask. “Y/n's here?”

    “Is she?” Hawk asked, his voice higher than usual – as it would get when he lied. “Didn't notice.”

That doesn't stop him from approaching you a millisecond later, his torso still bare. You're talking to Aisha when Hawk strides over, fist bumps Aisha and turns to you, giving you a long once-over.

    “Y/n. Looking fine as usual.” You can't help the blush that creeps up your cheeks. “You girls coming to the party at the canyon tomorrow night? I can come get you on my bike,” he finishes, looking at you.

You smile and part your lips to answer but sensei Lawrence beats you to it. “Students. Fall in!” he yells authoritatively as he eyes you and Hawk.

Not missing a beat, you all cut your conversation immediately to fall in to rows. Sensei Lawrence has Miguel warm up the class. Right after he commands you all in to an open square, standing at the open side to referee. “Tory. Aisha.” sensei calls, and no one needs an explanation as to what's about to happen. The All Vally tournament was closer than ever and Sensei had you all sparring constantly.

    The girls drive a hard fight, but eventually Tory takes the win. Both roughed-up Tory hands an arm out to Aisha, picking her up from the mat before bowing and returning to their respective places.

    “Y/n.” Sensei calls and you step forward. You were only three girls in his class so you were used to fighting the boys. You weren't shaken by it by any means – you were good – but the boys tended to go easy on you, fearing for your delicate hollow bones – despite you being fully capable of winning without them holding back.

    Both you and Sensei Lawrence scan the crowd of boys, trying to catch the eye of someone with the nerve to take you – when Hawk steps forward, signature cocky grin on his lips. “May I, Sensei?”

You loved how Hawk showed Sensei proper respect, knowing that outside the dojo he wouldn't ask anyone permission for anything, he'd just take or do what he wanted. Caring for Sensei Lawrence as you did, you appreciated Hawks matching adoration of your teacher.

    It looks like Johnny might turn him down before he says, “You may.”

    You and Hawk step towards each other and a surge of excitement rushes through you as you bow to each other. You take a fighting position and block when Hawk sends the first punch. Before he can recover you attack, spinning on your heel to deliver a kick so strong it knocks him over.

Usually Hawk jumps right back in to action when sparring with anyone else; but now he slowly peels himself off the mat, hand on his chest where you hit him. “Damn, Y/n. Was that a spinning back kick or am I just falling for you?”

    “Knock it off,” Sensei roars in annoyance, the heat in your cheeks rising furiously. You return to a fighting position without responding, trying to drown the whole thing out.

Hawk obeys Sensei and the rest of the fight goes by as any fight would, Hawk treating you as an equal – definitely not showing mercy, which, despite the pain, you appreciated – eventually ending with him straddling you on the mat, delivering a final hit to your chest, just under you clavicle. It wasn't a strong one, but it didn't need to be. Tournament rules declared him winner. Johnny called Hawk's name in triumph, but Hawk didn't seem to care. He was reluctant to get off you, the intense eye contact you held holding him back from breaking away.

    That is, until Johnny grabbed hold of his shoulder and forced him up and away from you. “Bow,” he commanded, and the intense irritation in his voice was unmistakable. You do so shakily, even though you know Sensei's irritation is not towards you. Sensei Lawrence had a soft spot for you, always had since you joined – and you reveled in it. He knew about your home life situation, and together with your quick learning and dedication to his teachings he quickly grew fond of you, and together with the fondness he became protective, as though you were his own.

    The rest of the class goes by uneventfully, apart from a bloody nose and chipped tooth, nothing that was foreign to you all at this point of your intense training.

The class dispersed. People headed out or to the locker rooms to change as Johnny called, “Y/n. My office.” You follow him in.

    “Is he bothering you?” Johnny asks, not bothering to close the door. You didn't need to ask who “he” is.

    “N-no,” you admit, slightly blushing as you do. If anything, you were enjoying Hawks attention on you, his actions fueling your crush on him even further.

    “Are you sure?” Sensei Lawrence goes on. “because if he is, I-”

    “I'm sure,” you quickly interject. You slowly shut the door behind you as you confess,  “actually, he kinda asked me to a party tomorrow. I'm going to say yes.”

Sensei's brow quirks. “You are not going to a party with that boy.”

    “Why not?” you ask like a disgruntled child at Johnny's words, holding them as a command though to be realistic – he had no power over you. No power that you didn't willingly give him.

    “Look, I-” Johnny begins to say, thinking back to the things he used to do as a teenager at beach parties, bringing girls along on his bike. “I don't like it.”

    “What's so wrong with Hawk?” you frown. “He's one of your best students.”

    “That's unrelated. Look, you can get in to all kinds of trouble at these types of things.”

You try to suppress your smile. “Don't worry about me, Sensei. I won't get in to trouble, promise. Besides, you wouldn't have this conversation with Miguel, would you?”

Johnny sighs, realizing he's fighting a losing battle. Grabbing his keys from his desk, he motions you out. “Come on, I'll give you a ride home.”

You feel a strange kind of contentedness as you leave the empty dojo with Johnny, who rattles his keys in his hands.

    You definitely don't expect to see Hawk waiting outside, leaning on his bike with an extra helmet in hand.

    “Hey,” he says and looks timidly from you to Sensei. “I – was wondering if you want a lift home.”

You open your mouth to reply, before shutting it and looking to Sensei pleadingly. He frowns. “Fine, go,” he huffs, acting annoyed. “Don't do anything I wouldn't.”

You send a final smile to your sensei before skipping over to Hawk, taking the helmet from his hands and mounting the bike behind him, your arms curling around him as you take off.

How I feel about this character: I honestly adore Miguel SO SO MUCH because he’s literally the realest twelve-year-old I’ve seen in any movie. He’s an absolute sweetheart and a dreamer, but he lets his selfishness get the best of him every now and again--which is part of growing up.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Nope.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: I have some feelings about his and Hector’s relationship.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He’s not a complete sweetheart. He actually acts like a brat several times throughout the movie, which is great. Because at twelve, even the sweetest kid is so wrapped up in their own goals and plans that they can end up being terrible to people who get in the way.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I'd love to see the same level of bonding he got with Hector with Mama Imelda. I think they’re far more alike than either wants to admit, and it’d make for some wonderful moments for the both of them.

Whilst conducting some research into the effectiveness of segmenting / targeting audiences using demographic models for my DiP Theory, I took the opportunity to also enquire about the potential ramifications that innovations in healthcare could see created, at least as far as data encryption is concerned.

My reasoning for this, is that if digital health evolves to mean more than a fitness app or wearable device such as an Apple Watch or a Fitbit - a data trail, a digital footprint so to speak is inevitably going to be left behind.

There have been many instances over the past few years where peoples personal details have fallen into the wrong hands, even after a promise was made to them by tech giants such as Apple and Yahoo, that their data would be secure.

When information concerning health falls into this mixing pot, the effect of a cyber-attack could literally result in life and death, at its worst.

Gazing into the distant future, narratives from films such as Repo Men (Miguel Sapochnik, 2010) don’t seem that unrealistic - it will be interesting to see what Tim responds, if he finds time.

Knowing him, he is an extremely knowledgable man - even regarding topics outside of his area of specialism so I hope to receive an invaluable amount of insight in the instance that he finds a few moments free. A telephone interview could be a great way to discuss this further if he is interested in helping, and would be a perfect way to get both his professional opinion and personal opinion and see if there is any difference between the two.
