Chinese Historical Periods: Bronze Age to the Development of Writing
Tumblr media
By Guss - Own work, after Li Liu, Archaeology in China, p.214, Public Domain, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=32701410
The Bronze Age Started around 3100 BCE in China and can be divided into three main periods: early, middle, and late. Some scholars prefer to divide the period between the Shang (about 1600-1046 BCE) and Zhou (11046-256 BCE) dynasties and the Warring States Period (476-221 BCE) into four parts, almost poetically called the heyday, the decadence, the mid-emergence, and the decline.

The earliest culture that created bronze artifacts that we've found is the Majiayao culture near Gansu, which is near the upper Yellow River. The object found was a knife. From Majiayao, bronze working spread along the Yellow River through contact between cultures. It is also thought that domesticated animals may have entered China through this area, also called the Hexi Corridor, or possibly through the Mongolian plateau around 3500 BCE, so it's quite possible that there was communication between Eastern and Western Asia through this passage.

The next major culture was the Erlitou culture, which was also focused around the Yellow River valley from about 1750-1530 BCE. They are considered to be the first true Bronze Age culture, being fully within it, and spread through hundreds of sites. Within this culture, the Xia dynasty ruled from about 2070 BCE through 1600 BCE, the first dynasty in Chinese history that we know about. Until 1959 CE, there weren't any sites discovered that were directly related to the Xia dynasty or a way of differentiating them from the Shang and Zhou dynasties. With improved technology, it became possible to separate out artifacts from the dynasties and establish the historicity of the Xia dynasty.

The final part of prehistoric Bronze Age was under the Shang dynasty. The center of the late Shang dynasty was around Xiaotun Village in modern day Henan. During this time, oracle bones scripts, usually carved on shoulder blades of oxen, began to appear, the earliest form of written Chinese that began to appear around 1250 BCE. There are 150,000 known pieces of oracle bones with about 5,000 different characters, of which 1,700 are recognizable to modern readers of Chinese. There is also a rich array of pottery, bronze ceremonial objects, carved jade, and many stone and bone tools, letting us develop a fuller picture of how people lived and what they valued during this time.

Much work has been done to reconcile the received or traditional history with the archaeological record by a group called the Xia-Shang-Zhou Chronology Project. With the large gap between the Xia dynasty and the beginning of the use of oracle bones, there are schools of thought that doubt its existence, considering it only legendary. Using the best tools available, they're working on narrowing the range of artifacts to identify when they were made. Certain sites are identified with each dynasty as well as certain types of artifacts. By being able to tighten the dates that items found at the various sites, the project has been able to date the currently known sites and identified gaps in the cultural record (cultural transitions between dynasties and predominant technologies).

The pages in this category are redirects from names that are unsuitable for inclusion in a printed version of Wikipedia. To add a redirect to this category, place {{Rcat shell|{{R unprintworthy}}}} on the second new line (skip a line) after #REDIRECT [[Target page name]]. For more information follow the links. Never substitute redirect template(s), nor place them on soft redirects.

This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories.
This is a tracking category. It builds and maintains a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. They are not part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme.
This category is hidden on its member pages—unless the corresponding user preference (appearance → show hidden categories) is set.
These categories can be used to track, build and organize lists of pages needing "attention en masse" (for example, pages using deprecated syntax), or that may need to be edited at someone's earliest convenience.
These categories also serve to aggregate members of several lists or sub-categories into a larger, more efficient list (discriminated by classifications).
"Unprintworthy" redirects are redirect pages on Wikipedia that aid online navigation, but would have little or no value as pointers to target articles in a hard-copy book. The name of a redirect may be unprintworthy for a number of reasons, including being nearly identical to the name of the target page, containing typographical errors, or not being encyclopaedic. Redirects are not unprintworthy just because the name may be offensive to some, unless the name is also not encyclopaedic.

Treating Survivors of Satanist Abuse

Treating Survivors of Satanist Abuse discusses the clinical issues around the treatment of survivors of ritual Satanist abuse. Authors from the United States and the United Kingdom look at the historical foundations of ritual abuse and clinical accounts from children and adults. The book has definitions of ritual Satanist abuse. It discusses issues in psychotherapy involving clients suffering from ritual abuse.[1]
Valerie Sinason is the director of the Clinic for Dissociative Studies, London and a psychoanalyst and consultant research psychotherapist at the Psychiatry of Disability Department at St George's Hospital Medical School, London.[2]
The book has been reviewed by the International Journal of Psycho-Analysis[3], the British Journal of Psychotherapy[4] and Survivors of Spiritual Abuse[5].

"Most of the book is written by therapists who have lived through a very real trauma themselves: that of slowly coming to believe that the appalling stories they are hearing may be literally true. Some therapists have further paralleled their patients' experience by meeting disbelief or dismissiveness in their professional colleagues. Far from an overeagerness to accept these stories, virtually every contributor describes initial extreme reluctance to believe them, only gradually overborne by the weight of the evidence....we also meet the courage and devotion of many impressive therapists, who have persevered and very often won through, and we are also, very practically, given a great deal of helpful and directly useful information: what to do and who to turn to if we think we may be faced with these issues. This book is not fun, but it is admirable and necessary." https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1752-0118.1995.tb00797.x

I have Autism + Alexithymia, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, DID & BPD
We’re a DID system and use We/I/Me/Ours/Etc pronouns. i don't talk about my DID often because its kinda awkward :”). Our Alters consist mostly of Ink, Lust, CANON C!Nightmare, Error, Cross, & Killer. But there are many more and we are NOT our source. I am also in almost complete control of this sack of flesh xP, Tho 99% of the time I’m co-fronting with Ink!! *paint might get acrylics own text tags one day if color so desires <3*
I petre sometimes! Often times I am a crow, cat, or dog! And I purr and chirp/caw even out of petre <3
Tone tags are VERY VERY preferable! I am tone def a lot of the time so please use tone tags otherwise I will take it the wrong way and start to p a n i c
I'm an Irl + Fictkin (Ink sans) !!!
Yes I can be cringe and idc :)
i am VERY silly, expect maximum silliness from me at all times.
If you’re are uncomfortable with something you see block the tag and move on do not harass me.
Please do not ask personal info/give about me unless I'm willing to give or I give permission. This includes Name, Age, Basic stuff like that.
please do not mention topics of rape, sexual assault, plushophilla, grooming, Addiction, Animal mutilation/Murder, etc. these are very triggering topics for me and make me remember events forced on me in my life I do not want to remember.
DO. NOT. REPOST/TRACE. MY. ART. WITHOUT. PERMISSION. I will find you.
Inbox is always open! You can be as silly as you want or say the most random stuff! 99.99% of the time I’ll also answer with a little doodle! And if u want me to remember you add a little signature! Ex : 💥 anon or smth like that :D
Another thing! You can send asks/talk with the Alters! Cannot guarantee we will always reply as some of us may not wish to, but still! This being said..BE RESPECTFUL TO ALL OF US IF YOU DECIDE TO INTERACT!! If you are not you get the ban hammer<3. Sometimes Alters may take over an ask if they want to! Regardless if it’s unintended for them or if the other wishes not to answer so don’t be surprised if you see someone else instead of who you intended :)
My DMs are always open !! I love love love meeting new people and making friends (I DONT BITE!!!!) :]
I'm fine w/ tags, comments, & spam-likes/reblogs! They make me rlly happy :3
I might spam-like (I get a lil excited sometimes..especially if I REALLY like your stuff, if you don't like this please let me know and I'll stop!!)
We do make suggestive jokes and we are hypersexual but that doesn't mean we’re not sex-replused most of the time.
I'm Nonhuman !! Pls do not refer to me as human. I prefer Skeleton terms & Crow terms over everything else. I'm just your average Paint Drinking Souless Skeleton <3
We tend to make random remarks, say out of pocket things, have trouble w/ volume control/typing in all caps, making inappropriate jokes, flirt & tease (w/ my close close friends/moots) if you ever get disturbed by this please let us know & we’ll stop.
all flirting and teasing we do is NEVER romantic. If we do these things with you they are purely us being silly, never showing romantic interest. Do not think otherwise. If you do you’re blocked Immediately.
I am VERY Blunt. And might say something rude or offensive and if I do please let me know because my Alexithymia makes it hard for me to understand if I upset people.
I unapologetically ship the most toxic abusive ships I can, and idc <333

Later Marriages in History
In contrast to other pre-modern societies—and for reasons that are subject to debate—Northwest Europe was characterized by relatively late marriages for both men and women, with both sexes commonly delaying marriage until their mid-20s or even 30s.[41][42][43] The data available for England suggest this was the case by the 14th century. The pattern was reflected in English Common Law, which was the first in Western Europe to establish statutory rape laws and ages of consent for marriage. In 1275, sexual relations with girls under either 12 or 14 (depending on the interpretation of the sources) were criminalized; a second law with more severe punishments for those under the age of 10 was enacted in 1576. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the British colonial administration introduced marriage age restrictions for Hindu and Muslim girls in the Indian subcontinent.[30]

I Hate Memorising, so I Created a System to Remember Everything If you’re struggling, consider therapy with BetterHelp #ad. Studying doesn’t need to be as hard is it feels: after 5 years in medical school, I just finished my final exams, and this is the method I used to study. I’ve been avoiding lectures since my first year of medical school, and using just one notebook, I’ve managed somehow to learn and memorise everything I was expected to know to become a doctor. If you also struggle with memorising facts and mnemonics (like me), hopefully this will offer an alternative! Let me know what you think! Thanks for watching, and best of luck with any exams you have, may your university studies always be as un-stressful as possible 🩵 Sources mentioned: 1. Richardson, Virginia. (1997).

Justin Gershman
Anish Kapoor is a Indian born artist from Mumbai who moved to London to study art at the college of Hornsey. He learned at this college that he had a love for bright colours and using intense pigments. He was heavily inspired by Indian culture especially the holiday of Dewali. While at these festivities people will often have dyed water thrown over them in a stunning display of colour. He graduated from his college with a bachelor’s degree in fine art. He refers to himself as a painter that works as a sculptor. He was the artist who thought of the sculpture Cloud gate more commonly referred to as the bean in Chicago. He is well known for using very vibrant pigments in his works rarely using more than three different colours for one piece. When he creates sculptures he likes to go big and extravagant. He created pieces that take up entire 30 foot rooms all the way to creations that are 145,313 square feet in size. He works with all different kinds of mediums including powders covering polyester, wood, and cement as well as natural resources such as dust, water and metals. Recently Anish Kapoor has come under the spotlight of the public eye for buying the sole rights to a colour. This is something that has never really been done before. Being able to sue anyone who buys, sells, or uses this colour had sparked outrage among upcoming and well established artists alike. There were people who had exclaimed their concerns on social media and others who protested outside of his showings though that was much less common. There was another artist who was particularly upset with finding out that a colour which absorbs 99.96 percent of all light that goes into it was off limits to all people but one. The artist is named Stuart Semple, Stuart is an artist who had a hobby of creating pigments and decided to make his own absolute colour. He had created a colour called the pinkest pink and forbade Anish Kapoor from getting his hands on this super refined pink pigment. The feud between the two continued for a few months with them going back and forth with each other. Anish Kapoor had showed his distaste for Stuart and his dyes by dipping his middle finger in the pigment and flipping everyone off through a tweet on twitter. Stuart Semple of course had to respond to this rude gesture by creating a new glitter called diamond dust which was infused with fiberglass with the intention of Kapoor being unable to deface this statement with his finger. Stuart Semple had later gone on to create a pigment called Black 2.0. He marketed and sold this colour to everyone but Anish Kapoor. Their feud went to a standstill after a threat of a lawsuit from Anish Kapoor that never actually saw the courts.
