Tumblr media
“ryuu-kun, c'mon! why are you so stiff? just relax!” you giggle softly, tugging on the poor man's black shoulder cape as you practically drag him toward the entrance of the haunted antique shop.
truth be told, akutagawa wasn’t hesitant —at least, not for the reasons you assumed. the idea of going against the king’s orders wasn’t something he took lightly. defying authority was not a habit for a devoted knight like him, and he had never imagined himself in a situation like this. but for you?
oh — for you, he would go against any order. he would take any risk just to see your eyes light up, to hear that carefree laugh of yours that always seemed to make the heavy burdens on his heart feel lighter. lord! how he loves to just see your cheeks flush, the delicate pink hue resembling the sakura in full bloom ー his new favorite colour.
akutagawa had been by your side for years, from your childhood through your teenage years, and now, as you stepped into adulthood, he couldn't help but notice how things had changed. he had seen your growth with his own eyes, and it disturbed him more than he'd ever admit. you were becoming someone who could get into trouble with ease, and while he was too loyal to question you, the protective instinct in him was stronger than ever.
“i’m relaxed, with all due respect, don't you think you're being a bit reckless?” despite his apparent annoyance, his eyes soften as they find yours. there was something captivating about the way your eyes glimmer under the poor light of the shop, like stars in a forgotten sky.
you step further into the abandoned shop, soft giggles echo as akutagawa’s reluctant footsteps follow close behind. the place feels like it hasn’t seen sunlight in ages, dust dances in the beams filtering through the cracked windows, illuminating shelves filled with eerie artifacts and relics of a forgotten age. for you? this was simply an adventure — a moment of thrill in an otherwise carefully controlled life.
“look, ryuu-kun! isn’t it fascinating?” you point toward an ornate mirror standing tall at the back of the shop. its frame is twisted, covered in intricate carvings that seem almost to shift as you stare at them. “wooah! i’ve never seen anything like it.”
the knight watches you approach the mirror, every instinct tells him this place isn’t safe, that there’s a dark enchantment here that could harm you. but your enthusiasm and willingness to explore, pulls him in against his better judgment.
“your highness...” he says softly despite the danger evident in his voice, “don’t touch it. we don’t know what kind of curse or magic might lie within that thing.”
but of course you’re already inches away, mesmerized by your own reflection in the mirror’s surface as if it almost seems to beckon you, whispering captivating, incoherent lullabies that you can’t quite decipher. your fingers reach out, grazing the glass searching for the source of the sound. but the moment you make contact, an odd chill courses through you, and the reflection changes, warping, revealing shadows of something darker within.
and suddenly, you’re not looking at yourself anymore. instead, you see visions flickering across the mirror — scenes of solitude, a vast, empty world where you stand utterly alone. the cheerful warmth in your chest vanishes, replaced by a cold sense of despair. you try your best to step back, but your gaze remains locked onto the mirror as if bound by an invisible force.
akutagawa’s eyes widen as he watches you freeze, your expression shifting from delight to horror. without a second thought, he lunges forward, pulling you away, but not before his eyes accidentally catch his own reflection. and again, the mirror’s black magic grips him, and for a fleeting moment, he sees something horrifying — the blood stained memories of his past in the port mafia, of every life he’s taken, every failure, every ounce of suffering he encountered.
“r-ryuu-kun…” you try to speak but you're disoriented...pale, leaning against him as you struggle to steady your breathing.
he shakes himself free, grip tightening slightly on your arm. “we need to leave. NOW.”
you nod, feeling a strange, lingering heaviness creeping inside your chest. arguing feels pointless, afterall he’s the reason you’re still alive and kicking up till now. you murmur a soft “i’m sorry,” but he doesn’t respond. without a glance, he strides toward the door pulling you along with him.
and just as he reaches the threshold, a sweet, floral yet infused with a dangerously intoxicating heady scent looms around you both, almost as if the scent itself seeps into your senses, leaving your body heating up and your thoughts hazy.
“ryuu?… i don’t feel well-… what do we—what's happening to me?” your voice is barely audible, the heat sensation spreading through you rapidly, making your cheeks flush more and your breaths come quicker, each inhale carrying more of that cloying scent, filling your senses until all you can think about is the knight by your side.
“it's the curse,” he mutters, “i-it won't break unless we give... blood, and... uh- more.”
you look up at him and it’s clear he’s struggling just as much, flushed and panting heavily. you instinctively cling to him, seeking closure against your own will, and he finds himself leaning closer, almost reflexively. despite the losing battle within him to resist, he begins to tell himself that perhaps fulfilling this desire is the only way to break free of the mirror’s spell? perhaps it's the only way to truly protect you? there’s no time to consider if it’s twisted or not, he's silently beating himself up for letting you get hurt in the first place.
he tries his best to keep his thoughts under control, but it's nearly impossible with the enchanted pollen's effect taking over his mind and turning him into a puppet of it's own making and the line between his sense of duty to protect you and his desire to make the aching pain in his pants go away becomes harder to see.
“your majesty..” he murmurs almost apologetically as he lowers his face close to yours, a deep blush spreads across your cheeks as you finally understand — this isn't just about you and him anymore. this is about survival, about breaking the curse that binds you. blood and cum must mix in order for the magic to release its grip. is it grotesque? yes, but in this moment, it’s the only way out.
your eyes are heavily half-lidded, lips parted perfectly, a few beads of sweat trace your cupid’s bow as you clench onto him with wobbly legs, your thoughts absolutely shameless, cunt instinctively clenching around nothing, are you actually craving him? the knight who has been by your side for so many years — the one who’s spent countless hours guarding and protecting you — is now stirring feelings you’d only ever brushed aside. you would be lying if you said that you never thought of him this way, there was something about the familiar warmth he carried that made you want to stay wrapped in his arms forever.
“ryuu-kun.. i-it hurts so bad— please make it stop.” you cry, though you're not sure whether you're asking for release from the curse or for something else entirely. the look you're giving him is so pathetic that he can't help but dart out his tongue to wet his lips, before smashing his lips on yours feverishly, you both grunt in relief, you're not sure what's happening but it's seems to work. he slips his agile tongue between your parted lips, spit mingles with lewd mewls as he pins you against the wall, hands fumbling with his garments, taking his pants off, unbuttoning his black tonic, almost everything as to free himself from the suffocating layers of fabric, before fully pressing his bare upper body against yours.
“your highness... i'm sorry,” the words are soft, but the look in his eyes is anything but. there’s a lurking emotion there that he rarely reveals— less guilt, and more... eagerness? surely he knows the stakes of this spell too well. he understands the strength and danger of it, how it could kill you both in less than an hour if you don’t break it. yet, akutagawa’s no saint. he's a deviant, laced with sin and shameless thirst, an absolute reprobate. even as he’s forced into this for your survival. there’s an obscene side to him he can’t hide, a filthy hunger in how his gaze trails over your body, wondering how it’ll feel when you’re wrapped tight around him, how you’ll respond to him thrusting into you. will you bite back a scream? will you moan his name, too breathless, too fucked out to form a word?
either ways, there's no point for him to guess as he'll be witnessing it shortly. strong and boney hands tremble as they run wild against your body till they reach your pants pulling them down, he's too engrossed in your details as a muffled groan escapes his pretty lips before he slides down your nectar-soaked panties, taking both your legs wrapping them around his narrow waist, holding you close as if he can’t bear the thought of you slipping away from him. with a shaky sigh as he pops the buttons of your shirt, catching the beautiful euphoric sight of your breasts spilling over your bra.
“there's no time, please trust me on this,” just a few words to trick himself that what he's doing is only for your survival. his disheveled black and white locks brush your cheek as he presses quick, breathless kisses to your temple.
you manage to nod, feeling his hard cock press against your puffy folds from beneath, and your hips subconsciously buck yearning for any friction to ease the swell of pain building rapidly in your core.
however, it's short-lived, as in mere seconds, he's plunging into you with a deep, throaty groan, his entire body trembling as if he's been transported to another dimension. a wave of tingling ecstasy floods through him, muscles tightening as his fingers dig into your bare shoulders, holding you close.
“f-fuhckmmh- your highness-” he whimpers against your ear, the heat radiating from his body is absolutely insane, “forgiv-e me—,”another thrust, “i am bound to protect you— not to desecrate you like this.”
“i-it's fine,” you murmur, soft fingers gripping his face to force him to look at you. “i trust you ryuu-kun.”
what other options do you have? none.
he just stares at you for a few seconds before thrusting again. his hips start moving leisurely at first, stretching you deliciously as you bury your face in the crook of his neck, inhaling his mesmerising scent, feeling every agonising movement of his flawless cock picking up its pace by each passing second and the instant he bottoms out, he practically 'pounds' into you deeper, harder, each stroke finding a new angle that leaves you gasping for air.
his own pleasure is muffling his ears. he still cannot believe it. he's been waiting for this moment his entire life, to finally fuck his monarch that's been taking over his thoughts each passing night, getting him atrociously horny.
“oh god, you feel ngh~ heavenly—,” it's a whisper more to himself, knobby hands gripping the swell of your ass as he rams into you manically, “blood...we- fuck! have to mix blood.”
before you can make sense of it, he conjures a faint trace of rashomon from his tonic, its shadowy tendrils coiling around his sleeve, sharp enough to slice yet gentle in his intent. he presses the edge to your palm, watching a bead of crimson pool against your skin.
the sharp sting pulls a gasp from your lips, your dazed mind barely registering the act before akutagawa does the same to himself. dark silver eyes smoulder with lust as he guides both your bleeding palms to his cock, smearing the mingled blood over it, the warm slickness adding to the sinful mess already coating him.
“ryuu-” you breathe, with a trembling voice, whether from pain or arousal, you’re not sure.
his eyes meet yours before you feel the soft clouds of his lips crash onto yours, it's all desperate and messy, teeth nipping at your lower lip hard enough to draw blood. the metallic tang spreads across your tongue, blending with the taste of him as he drinks in your broken moans, tongue delves deeper into your mouth, spit melding together as he aligns himself with your slit once more. his blood-slickened cock slides back into you, each thrust feels heavier, deeper, as if the leverage of the curse itself presses against you both, urging you to fulfill its dark demands.
“just a litt-le more,” he rasps, teeth scraping along the sensitive skin of your neck, leaving a delicate trail of violet bruises and ruptured vessels.
a borderline salacious symphony of sounds echoes, wet and obscene, sopping and slick, each thrust accompanied by a squeaky rhythm as his balls slap against your pillowy ass cheeks. your eyes roll back in a bliss, glossy lips parting lusciously in a wanton moan, every vein and ridge of him dragging you closer to euphoric oblivion.
“ryuu... i can’t...” you sob, nails digging into his back as the pressure in your core mounts, legs trembling around his waist. “i... i can’t take it anymore...”
“stay with me, your majesty haah,” he murmurs breathlessly, lips brushing against your ear as he drives into you deeper. “we need... to break it. just a little longer... please...”
his hands clutch at your hips, pulling you into each thrust until all that’s left is the white-hot pressure of the spell, of the lust, threatening to swallow you both. his cock throbs inside you, and it’s clear— he can’t hold back any longer.
“please, ryuu... i’m—” you bite your lip, unable to finish as the knot in your belly tightens, ready to burst.
akutagawa's focus narrows, all he can think about is you, how your breasts bounce with each thrust, body arching beneath his, exposing the delicate curve of your neck— everything about you is perfect in this moment, and he can't tear his eyes away. the sight of your face contorted in pleasure, the pout tugging on your lips, the way your legs tremble, how your hips move to meet his, how your nails drag across his back starved for his naked skin. is this his body on yours? is he finally feeling you? kissing you? fucking you?
'god, look at you,' he can barely think, his thoughts fragmented, lost in the instinctual need to bury himself deeper, to take more, to feel more. the way you tighten around him, the slick, wet warmth of your cunt — he’s fucking drowning in it.
'fucking beautiful.'
a few thrusts of akutagawa’s hips and his name tears from your lips in a breathless, desperate cry, the sound of your orgasm crashing over you like a truck, slamming into him with brutal force. your walls flutter and clench around his cock, milking him, dragging him deeper into the molten heat of your release.
his vision blurs, heart thundering in his chest as his hearing dulls to nothing but the wet, obscene noises of your bodies joined together. for the first time in his life, he is obliterated by the sheer, soul-stealing intensity of his orgasm, his cock still twitching violently as he spills deep inside you, his seed mingles with the blood smeared between you, the combined essence finally breaking the curse’s seal.
“i-is it over?”
akutagawa doesn’t answer immediately, his forehead pressing against your shoulder as he struggles to gather himself. his meaty length that's still buried inside you twitches, body refusing to move, refusing to let go of the impossible warmth and tightness of your walls. the thought of pulling out feels unbearable, like he’d be severing himself from something sacred.
“yes,” he finally rasps, “the curse is broken.”
still, he doesn’t move, his grip on your hips tightening imperceptibly. every inch of him aches to stay like this, to savor the raw, feral perfection of you wrapped around him. but he won’t say it — not to you, not to your highness. it’s not his place to speak such desires aloud. instead, he forces himself to swallow the words, forcing his breathing to even out as he pulls out of you despite the burning need still coiling in his gut.
without a word, he moves to gather your clothes, fingers brushing over your skin tenderly in a way that feels foreign coming from him, as if he’s afraid that, if he rushes, it’ll break something.
“rest, your highness. please, don’t move,” he ties the fabric hovering near your ear as his soft upper lip brushes your sensitive skin with a low murmur. “you’re safe now.”
“safe...” you repeat the word, almost testing it on your tongue.
“at least for now, but the curse... it doesn’t work like that. it’s not just broken once. it could flare up again in a few days... and when it does,” he pauses, allowing his words to settle in for a few seconds. “we’ll have to repeat the ritual.”
he’s a liar. a filthy, self-loathing liar.
the curse is broken. it has been broken since that moment. nothing will flare up again. it’s absolutely impossible. the ritual is complete. there is no reason for him to say this, no reason at all. but still, he can’t help himself. he lies, not to protect you—but to keep you. to keep you near him, just a little longer.
“we’ll have our next time soon,” he mutters to himself, he hates himself for it. every fiber of his being recoils at the thought of deceiving you like this, manipulating you with his twisted words, but the words are already sealed in his mind. mostly like a promise — one he will keep. and this time, he won’t stop.

bored so i filled an aa tierlist have fun looking at that if you want. based on aa1 through 5, dgs1 & 2, aai, and parts of aai2 (still haven't finished it!)
Tumblr media
honestly considered making it the women, phoenix, and ryuunosuke tier but ultimately had to bump ryuu down one because i don't think he's quite as entertaining as nick. but lets jsut say. i think so many people call him a "paragon protagonist" because they simply did not realize that he was having a wholeass beautiful arc alongside gina in adventures. which--gina is in the "i love their role" tier because it's not that i don't also like her on a personality/entertainment level, i just care more about what she represents wrt the themes of the first game and her relationships with the rest of the cast. she is shockingly irrelevant in resolve and it's a shame because she kind of needed that relevance for me to continue being invested in her... this stuff is why i say i prefer adventures
i am nothing if not a miney sisters lover
athena tier: i love her whole concept of "courtroom revolutionaire" i love her autistic swag i even love her kind of generic smile-so-you-don't-cry thing, she just got so fucking shafted by the story. couldn't even let her lead two cases when she should have been the main character. winner of the "most fucked over by the writers" contest not even dahlia can beat her. not even trucy. at least trucy had her game to shine before they killed her and replaced her with a robot
i like apollo juuust enough to not put him in fandom fav quarantine. can't get enough of his "disillusioned college student who gets three hours of sleep a night, such a fucking square and knows it, thinks everyone else in the room is a fucking idiot and that he can prove it by yelling louder than them" energy. and honestly his shit in aa5 isn't that bad on a macro level. aa6 is wild but in like a funny way. what i'm saying is who can blame him
speaking of the quarantine row i want to be clear i REALLY like all of these characters it's just that i don't care about them as much as fandom does so there's a part of me that's like "ugh" every time i see them :(
wish i could put iris and kay higher but to be honest neither of them are. that interesting. love them both, especially iris, but. yeah. i stand by my statement that iris is the heart of resolve but it's very much in a structural sense as opposed to one that centers her as a character.
i think shamspeare is way funnier than he really is
some clarifications with the "interesting concept" tier: yanni yogi is here almost solely because of the live action movie. they go really hard with him there. gregson because i don't care for him as a character but i really enjoyed the assassin twist. and with alita, it's not her "discount dahlia" bit that i find interesting, but just the general circumstances around her murder. aa4 just has a certain tone that can uplift even the boring characters. oh and you know now that i think about it i might have moved magnifi a little higher, above acro at least, because he really does loom heavy over the gramarye plotline despite his sparse presence
on "neutral but they have a good bit": doug and clay's bits are their stupid names, daryan and jezaille's bits are their stupid senses of style
actually i should have put van zieks in the good bit category too ah well i don't like how the racism thing played out so he can take being a little lower than he needs to be
i think all else is self explanatory. there are obviously more characters that could be on this list but none that i have interesting thoughts on. ok thanks for reading

Brewed With Intent, Part 3
[Read on AO3]
“You’re sure that you feel all right?” Shidan stoops— not far, but enough— to stare Obi right in the eyes, mouth furrowed deep into its concern corners. It’s habit to brace, to wait for her inevitable sympathetic flinch when that otherworldly something drives them back—
But it never comes. Shidan holds his gaze— a second, then two, then suddenly half a minute’s passed without a single shudder— and asks, “No itching or…hm…burning?”
Pencil-thin brows hike right up to his hairline, rumpling the scar that cuts across beneath it, both nothing and everything like Shirayuki had imagined. “Are those symptoms I should be worrying about, Doc?”
“Not a doctor,” Shidan reminds him absently, “and no.”
“What?” Obi sputters out. “Then why would you ask—?”
“The last time someone tried to cast something on you, you turned into a human bonfire.” Shidan levels a stare at him so flat she could skip rocks across it. “Taking some measure of caution seems prudent.”
It’s riveting to watch his mouth work, to see all the muscles twisting together to shape words that never quite manage to be more than a dissatisfied grunt. “Well, not a human one.”
The glare Shidan gives him could hang pictures. “Why don’t you go take a breather here in the back? Just in case. Last thing I need is a customer to spontaneously combust on East Broadway.”
“Please, I’m civilized, I’d make it to at least Belmont.”
“I still think it’ll be some frog action.” Yuzuri bumps the stock room door open with her hip, a box of vacuum-sealed herb packets teetering in her arms. “Or maybe a small mammal. I don’t know what your biology would do with something cold-blooded.”
“Best not to find out.” Suzu turns too-earnest eyes to him. “I think you’d make a handsome stoat.”
Obi presses a hand to his chest, shirt rumpling enough to bare even more bronze beneath, and ah, two buttons have never seemed so indecent. “That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me.”
“Hey!” A cardboard corner lodges under his sternum in protest. “I called you hot!”
“Yeah, but that’s just facts.” Obi’s palm shoves against one flat side, angling her back toward the aisles. “Suzu’s showing some imagination. A little faith, if you will.”
“Really? You’re gonna lecture me about moralism? A de—?”
“How long should do you think we should wait?” Shirayuki asks, if only to give her an excuse to do something besides letting her eyes trace the length of his cheekbones another dozen times. “I was hoping to do some of my rounds today if, er…”
It would be insensitive to say, if Obi doesn’t explode on them. Though it’s certainly not as career limiting for him as it would be for, say, either her or Ryuu, the whole business with Haki had still come as a bit of a blow. Even now his hair hasn’t fully grown back in, just a thick forest of black bristle he complains is at the whim of his pillow, even though Shirayuki’s half sure she’s never seen him use one.
Shirayuki casts a curious glance at the hand he runs through it, ignoring the itching of her own palms. Whatever he's doing, it’s clearly working for him.
“Can’t say for sure.” Shidan scratches at his goatee, giving Obi a squint for good measure, almost as if he could see the inner workings of the charm over him, like a clock maker inspects gears on a timepiece. “Fifteen minutes?
“Oh, like one of those vaccines things, right?” Obi doesn’t sit so much as free fall into the bean bag chair in Shidan’s office, long legs stretched across the carpet. “Miss made me wait with her once.”
Yuzuri huffs as she heads toward the shop, one ear flicking. “It’s bullshit that you can’t get sick. Totally unfair. Proof that the universe has its fucking favorites, to be honest.”
“Don’t blame me.” He hooks his hands behind his head, eyes at half-mast, positively lounging. She catches herself mid-star, her eyes nearly raking across ever leather and denim clad inch. And especially the few inches with neither. “Blame— what’s it you guys call it? Speciation? Different biology.”
“Well, some of it has to be the same,” Suzu muses, chin in hand. “You know, for, uh” —he stutters under Obi’s sudden glare— “reasons.”
Shirayuki blinks. “Re—?”
“All right, I think we’ve done more than enough agitation testing,” Shidan grunts, getting to his feet. “Let’s let the guy catch his breath. Give him some space.”
“To combust? If he’s going to do that, a few feet won’t really—”
“Suzu!” Yuzuri stamps her foot just outside the office, ears pulled so low they practically disappear into her hair. “You can’t just say someone is going to explode.”
“Why?” He blinks, craning his neck down to stare. “It’s not like it’ll hurt him.”
“Still. It’s rude!” The graphic part of his tee crumples beneath her fist as she reaches out and tugs, yanking all six foot two of him right off his feet. “Now just get over here already. The last thing I need is you turning into a pile of ash and making more work for me.”
Shidan sighs, running a hand through his already tousled thatch of hair. “Well, that’s the peanut gallery. Shirayuki…?”
“I’ll stay.” It’s supposed to sound supportive, stalwart, but with the heat that licks up her neck, tickling at the apples of her cheeks, she doubts it makes the mark. “Just in case.”
“Your funer—” Shidan coughs, hand scraping over his stubble— “choice.”
“Don’t worry, doc,” Obi hums, head tilted back, skin stretched taut enough she can see his throat bob as he swallows. “This isn’t Miss’s first rodeo. She can handle anything my biology can throw at her.”
Shidan hums, unconvinced. “Right, well, there is a fire extinguisher under the counter. If you need it.”
“I don’t think we will, that sort of reaction tends to be, er…instantaneous.” Shirayuki angles her most grateful smile up at him. “Thank you though. Not just for the, er, information. But everything.”
His shoulders hike up by his ears, as allergic to gratitude as every other master practitioner she’s met. At least he isn’t trying to rush her out the door the way Lata did every time he caught a whiff of sincerity on her. “Don’t mention it.”
It’s hardly a long walk from his desk to the door, but it’s enough steps to see how he’s favoring one side, like Grandpa did whenever the weather got too wet out. “I could brew you something for that, if you wanted.”
His hand hooks on the jamb, holding him steady as he turns a furrowed brow toward her. “For what?”
“Your limp.”
It’s astounding how quickly the red rockets up his neck, not even taking a pause at his cheeks, just barreling up from his collar until it crashes against his hairline. “N-no!” He coughs again, hand scrubbing over his face. “I mean— it’s nothing. Works itself out in time. Just…worry about yourselves.”
It’s in her nature to gently insist, to wheedle curmudgeons around to a show of kindness, but she barely has time to take in a breath before the door slams behind him. Hard enough that it rattles the walls, setting more than a few of his pictures askew.
“Well,” she hums, reaching over to fix one within arm’s reach. “That seems a little unnecessary.”
“Miss.”
There’s no reason for Obi's mouth to hitch like that, or for his arresting eyes to soften, overflowing with affection she can appreciate every ounce of now that instinct is no longer blaring alarm in her ears. And yet, here he is, too-sharp canines dinting his lower lip, shoulders practically shivering as he bites back his snickers. Poorly, she might add.
It doesn’t make the picture of it any less pretty. And it certainly doesn’t do anything to discourage her staring at him, that’s for sure.
“I don’t see what’s so funny,” she murmurs, her own cheeks flushed as she turns them away. “He’s injured! I was just trying to be helpful. That’s hardly a reason to get so flustered…”
“Miss.” The word practically squeaks out of him, laughter slipping out behind it. “How do you think he got that limp?”
“How would I…?”
It’s the pity that gets her, just the slightest sliver hidden behind the fondness in his eyes, the same kind Yuzuri gives her when she’s a little slow to understand something adult, and—
“Oh.” There'd been marks on Garrack’s neck, so fresh, only a handful purpled and even less yellowed. And a discount that she’d been so certain she earned them. “Oh.”
“There we go,” Obi hums, settling deeper into the bean bag. “Now you’ve got it.”
*
It’s only fifteen minutes— less time than it takes Ryuu to complete the sudoku in the paper, or Obi takes to make a sandwich— and yet every second of it is interminable, stretching by with all the speed of molasses down a bottle’s neck. No wonder Obi is always acting like he’s about to jump out of his skin at the library.
But this isn’t just an outright allergy to sitting stationary— no, Shirayuki has extenuating circumstances. The kind that make her wonder if that leather is as touchable as it looks.
“That bad, hm?”
Her eyes dart up, disrupted from the corners they’d been sneaking their surreptitious glances. His are still closed, head tilted back on his hands, like he’d be more at home with a hammock at his back than a bean bag, mojito within arm's reach. Only his smile’s strained, more teeth than teasing, braced for a blow. “Huh?”
“You know…” One large hand waggles over him, a sliver of gold peeking through his eyelashes. “The new look.”
Is it? That’s what she’d like to ask— if when he looks in the mirror, this is the face he sees, or whether Shidan’s charms have polished the edges off they way they’ve erased the extra eyelid. If this is just a human face plastered over a more eldritch one, more palatable to the small animal that is her brain, or what had been hiding beneath that miasma all along, waiting for a heart stout enough to be seen.
Instead she watches his eyelashes splay over the golden arch of his cheekbone and feels her mouth go inexplicably dry. “N-no! Yuzuri’s right. It’s, um…”
“Hot?” he offers, entirely too eager. Even rolls up to his side, one arm angled behind his head, like one of those pin-ups the Laxdo dorm boys had hurried to take down from the wall the last time she stopped by.
“Attractive,” she allows, ignoring the insufferable angle his smirk slants itself to. “You’ll certainly draw attention while we’re out.”
“Attractive.” He tests the word, savors it, and apparently likes the taste. “But am I attracting you, Miss?”
It’s mortifying how quickly her skin goes hot, a slight flush to lobster red in seconds. “Obi!”
“Kidding, kidding!” His hand fly up, but she’s in no mood to be placated, not when they tremble at the same frequency as his laugh. “All this being perceived— it’s going straight to my head.”
He deserves every ounce the scowl she gives him, gaining gravitas as it ramps over the forbidding fold of her arms. “Be that as it may, it’s still not very nice to tease! Especially when you’re not even interested in the answer.”
“I wonder.” There’s a strange set to his smile, like his mouth doesn’t quite fit on his face, like it belongs to a different man entirely— but it’s gone as quick as it arrived, disappearing behind what she’s quickly coming to realize is his usual grin. “So where to next, Miss? After the Doc gives me a clean bill of health, of course.”
There’s a plan, a list, but— but he stretches. Palms press flat to the wall behind him, exaggerating the arch of his back, and— and his shirt rolls up, baring the barest sliver of bronze right above his waistband. A dusting of dusky hair peeks above the brass button, trailing down to parts unknown, and her fingers itch, wanting to know it’s as silky as it looks, or— “I don’t know.”
He blinks, gold making his eyes all the more owlish. “You don’t know?”
“Ah, I mean…” She shakes her head, as if percussive force might knock her tongue loose of its tangle. “There’s a few places…that have put out requests, I mean! And I thought we might have, um…”
This isn’t working. Whatever this is— she’s got to get a hold of herself. With a steeling breath, she slaps her cheeks, hard enough to feel the sting.
Obi’s arches a narrow brow. “You okay there, Miss?”
“Yes, sure.” Barely. “There’s no requests for urgent consult, so I thought head toward the market first and maybe make out way n—”
“The market? You mean…” A groan really should looks so good “Don’t tell me, we’re going to the harbor.”
*
“What”— Kihal hooks her hands over her hips, thunderous as any squall over the Sound— “is that?”
Shirayuki blinks, tracing the finger she points right over her shoulder to where Obi lounges against the pier, jacket slung over his shoulder. It’s brisk this close to the water, but with the temperature Obi runs at, anything more than short sleeves is for aesthetic. Certainly no cause for alarm, but today—
Well, today she can see how the seam of his sleeve strains around his bicep, and the way his torso tapers right down to his waist, practically a triangle—
She swallows. “Obi’s trying out a charm Shidan made him.”
“Demon boy?” Kihal makes a disgruntled squeak back in her throat, half-threatening, half-cute, and all annoyed. “Oh, I don’t like that. I don’t like that at all.”
Shirayuki watches him unfurl from his lean, hips rolling as he saunters toward them, and can’t help but think, get in line.

I made my first Goromi fic, I say first because I definitely want to write more I love her and there's so much good art about her on here..my heart.
I'm not too sure about this one because it's written a bit differently than I usually do for practice.
Anyways, it's short and they are very much in love , freaky stuff aside.
“Can I? Please..” he asked, leaning forward until his nose almost met the fabric of the leather mini-skirt, only to be denied, the heel of Goromi’s shoe pressing into his chest, pushing him back. Kiryu groaned from the pain, but his expression betrayed how much he was liking this so she pressed harder, twisting the heel with a grin.
“How about no? How about I do what I want with you?”
"Yes, anything"
~aka, Kiryu wants Goromi to step on him (dont we all?)

barok van zieks, genshin asougi, mael stronghart, seishiro jigoku and herlock sholmes go
5) Jigoku. I like him, but I haven't thought much of him lol. The twist caught me by surprise, that's for sure, and it's fun to rewatch G1-1 and G1-2 after you know his deal. Yeah I wouldn't mind exploring his relationship with Stronghart ;)
4) Stronghart. What brings him down is how blatantly evil he is ever since you lay your eyes on him, and how GAA2 shifts from blaming British society to pinning all of the evils that happened to the cast on this dude. I think you could have done more with his gimmick of time tied with his control freakness. He was fucking terrifying as a judge though, and he has no question the best breakdown in the series, so that saves him :P
3) Asougi. Again, not a character I thought much of (I'm more of a Klint fan lmao), but he's cool! He was a sadly realistic victim of systemic xenophobia, but through and through an honorable samurai who cared deeply about both van Zieks brothers. It's also kind of funny that he, of all people, indirectly founded the Karuma/von Karma family :P
2) Sholmes. Yeah, count me in as one of the many who was won over by his zaniness lmao. I was honestly shocked to discover that he too had his shadier side ("Great detectives are wont to lie"). By the end, you almost get the feeling that a good chunk of his silliness was deliberate to "mentor" Ryuu :)
1). Barok. My favorite character in the series, very close to Ryuu :) yeah yeah I know all about the controversy and I have my feelings about it, but I don't know what to tell you, I love his flair (now that I've played CV his Dracula-esque mannerisms are even more hysterical), how under his theatricisms and unpleasant attitude he's one of the best and most honest prosecutors in the series, how he grows to be interested in Ryuu, how much he vocalizes his respect by the end, the unfairness of his backstory, and also best theme.

Anime Update V3 10
From Me To You - Things are now taking their time, with random fluff and incidents such as Sawako, as her one good deed of the day, sheltering a hilariously ungrateful and angry puppy from the rain, and the dog later gets adopted by Kazehaya. Then there's the start of the new school term where seatings have to be changed via drawing numbers, with almost no one wanting to sit next to, behind, in front of, or across from Sawako. Kazehaya ends up going "fuck it, I'm going to take some initiative here!" and physically moves his table and seat next to Sawako's. Yano, Yoshida, and this guy named Ryuu also sit in that end of the classroom, so I guess this is our main cast. My main takeaway is how our two leads are sort of inversions of one another - Sawako is introverted yet easily lets her emotions show, while Kazehaya is extroverted yet is good at being hard to read.
Hunter x Hunter - The Hunters' assault on the royal palace finally begins and with a great big bang. Netero and Zeno did this huge, shiny strike from the sky and Netero let out a display of his full power that hits Neferpitou, who is miraculously able to survive this. Most of the episode was filled with narration and there's even a glimpse into Netero's backstory for how he attained the strength he has now.
SHUFFLE! - Well on one hand, I've warmed up to Primula enough to give a damn when it's revealed what she really is and the focus gets put on her falling ill and needing to be taken back to the demon world and possibly out of the main casts' lives forever. On the other hand, I'm not sure I welcome this sudden swerve into drama. I'm pretty sure I was expecting it at some point given similar works like CLANNAD, but I was enjoying the fun, breezy and laid-back feel the show had going, and now even the opening card, mid-episode eyecatches, and next episode previews aren't the same as they were before! I'm going to be hopeful that this goes somewhere to make this trade worth it and that the charm doesn't completely fade away.
The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II - Had a real locked room mystery this time, one set at an estate that holds a magical workshop in the midst of a storm and had to be covered in two episodes rather than one! To make the case stranger, the client has some special eyes that allow him to see and visually communicate with a human-sized fairy that seems to be haunting the place. I loved that Reines actually got to come along in person for this one, as we got to see some good reactive comedy from her and some precious interaction between her and Gray, showing she's got more range to her than simply an evil girlboss. Also got to meet Ms. Hishiri Adashino, who Waver can barely stand, and Kairi Shishigou, a burly, shades and jacket wearing, gun-toting necromacer. Gray is confirmed to have a connection to Saber as she becomes instrumental in the fight against these terrifying black dogs. I think the one part that was iffy for me is that it repeated the "the father is the posthumous mastermind!" twist from Episode 3, only this time there was no actual ghost in the works. But it did lead to us learning of Rail Zeppelin, an underworld group that sells mystic eyes, paving the way for an unfolding story arc.
KonoSuba - The OVA episode was all kinds of priceless, if not a little bit aggrivating at points due to the characters' stupidity. Got to meet Megumin's self-proclaimed rival Yunyun, though the relationship seems to actually be one of a bully and her victim who've become friends/rivals/secret lovers. Her presence at Wiz's shop leads to Kazuma putting on a cursed choker that will drain him of his life unless his heart's wish from when it was first put on is granted. Since Kazuma is the fucking worst, he milks this situation and gets the girls to do whatever he wants them to do, hoping they'll pleasure him enough for it to be considered wish fulfillment. It doesn't pan out, so he has to confess all his sins before he goes, and long story short, he does end up dying again but it's not the choker that does him in.
Symphogear XV - With the main Symphogear girls at the lunar ruins and Shem-Ha planning on using the Curse of Balal to activate Yggdrasil so that she can distort all life on Earth, repopulate it with her own monstrous spawn, and become a true goddess, the final season is at its climax. Tsubasa and Maria work together and put up a great fight against Noble Red, but are too late to stop Shem-Ha from activating Yggdrasil, which is forming towers all over the planet!
Eureka Seven - Aside from some character growth moments for Talho and Holland, and the reassertion of Gecko State's goal, not much happened here! Basically just prepping for the fight ahead.
Gintama - OK, calling this arc "Yakuza VS Aliens" is either the most misleading thing the series could've done or it's secretly genius. The first of the three episodes sees a freak alien parasite running amuck in Edo City and famed alien hunter Umibozu arriving to exterminate it, and in the process talk his daughter Kagura into returning with him to their homeworld. Yeah, he's Kagura's father and there's a more complicated history behind Kagura's clan and why Kagura wanted to break away from it to live a normal, fun life on Earth, Kagura gets more seriously angered than we've seen her get to this point and has a fight against her old man that's settled by Gintoki making a save and....telling Kagura she should leave Earth with her father. He just gives Kagura up and walks away. What in the blazing HELL, Gin?!?

notes: gn! reader, none! just tanaka being a little shit (affectionate)
Tumblr media
TANAKA RYUUNOSUKE comes home from his daily runs and almost always chooses violence. as soon as he comes back to your shared apartment unit, you can hear him whistling and singing along to whatever song's playing on those earphones of his. sometimes you even get waken up by the fuss he's causing outside your bedroom door, accidentally knocking down stuff while he tries to pour himself a glass of water. no worries, you're almost always awake before he arrives, and he knows that! he walks into the shared bedroom and immediately locks eyes with you, only breaking it to strip off his sweaty t-shirt, exposing his toned torso where beads of sweat add shine to the otherwise smooth surface.
oh... no...
"ryu... no." you start, giving him a warning stare and inching further into the headboard, akin to seeing a cheetah hiding amongst stalks of wheat or grass. and like a cheetah with instincts of their own, he pounces at you with a playful growl, engulfing you in an affectionatly sticky, sweaty, and uncomfortably warm embrace.
"RYUU!! GET THE FUCK OFF ME YOU—" to no avail, you try and push him off of you, or otherwise wriggle out of the blanket that now wound tightly around you like a burrito. "TAKE A DAMN SHOWER OR ELSE YOU'RE SLEEPING ON THE COUCH TONIGHT." the koala-cheetah mf let's you go SO FAST and looks at you with the most genuinely concerned face ever.
"wait no do i really stink that bad?" he twists himself this way and that to sniff at his armpits. quick, you take advantage of this diversion to poke at his tickle spot, earning the LOUDEST SCREECH you've ever heard him spew out of his mouth since the first time he saw kiyoko in a black dress. you both looked at each other like 😐😐 before bursting into an even louder fit of laughter.
"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT SCREECH?!?"
"BABE DON'T DO THAT AGAIN PLEASE OH MY GOD" he is evidently embarrassed now thank you. not that he's never embarrassed himself before.
a knock on your front door interrupt the beginnings of a tickle contest, locking eyes again before tanaka scrambles off of you and zooms to the bathroom. "HAHA KARMA YOU TAKE THAT BLEH"
"YOU—" you try getting a grip at his joggers but only managed to pull it down enough for a piece of his favorite teddy bear boxers underneath to peep through. you groan loud enough for him to hear, groggily getting out of the bed to make yourself somehow presentable to the pissed off neighbor probably fuming at your door right now.

From your whole Ryunosuke bit earlier, how fast would he work out the revelation of PLvsAA? I feel like this version of him would have him work it out almost INSTANTLY, then the rest of the game would just be people going: "No Naruhodo-san that's stupid."
the thing about ryuu is that hes a huge scaredy cat with spooky stuff so i feel like he would be WAY too afraid of all the witches to even work out the big twist. hes so distracted thinking about how to defend himself against witchcraft that it does not occur to him to question the larger structure of what's happening here

fandom: kusuriya no hitorigoto tags: canon compliant, basen learning maomao's name others: basen & maomao siblings agenda
"hey, you," basen said as he entered the physician's quarters. maomao looked up, recognizing the voice, and promptly went back to whatever she's been doing. basen felt a prickle of annoyance — but that can't do. he's still on probation, and the moment his master would catch wind of his attitude, he'll get another beating from father. he thought back to the genial dog-like military official. "young…miss."
court physician ryuu's eyebrows are furrowed. he stepped forward by the door when basen tried calling to the apothecary his master favors. "please state your business."
"i'm here to speak to the court physician's aide," he said. no one said anything. he recognized en'en, the one who had been under jinshi's employ recently, and a girl of a similar age group, both who must have been the apothecary's co-workers. he cannot see her now, possibly having retreated to a different room. "the one acquainted with the tactician."
"we are strangers, though." she appears again. she was looking at court physician ryuu, for permission. "of what assistance can i provide?"
her words are polite, though lacking in any particular inflection. her gaze is indifferent, though he remembers seeing a somewhat softer gaze whenever she is around the eunuch with the limp.
"i request a consultation." she blinks.
"is it a medical issue?" he shakes his head. "is it urgent?"
he shakes his head but — "i'm afraid it will happen when i am not in the palace, when i have departed, and today is the least hectic for a while."
"i see." court physician ryuu frowns, but does not quite object. he only says to make it quick.
the apothecary leads him to an inner room, a storage perhaps, with all the shelves and the strong fragrance of medicine.
"what does basen-sama require of me?"
"you see--"
-----
days letter, when he meets with his master for a report, he is smacked upside the head by his sister. he dares not complain, but questioningly cries, "da'jie!"
"she has a name, you do know that right?" jinshi-sama says. his elegant face is twisted into something unpleasant, but retains its regality. "you can't just keep calling her you or court physician kan's daughter, or whatever it is you called her recently."
his sister turns to look at his master. "jinshi-sama. you too have realized that you cannot simply call her 'you' or 'apothecary', correct?" his master startled, looks away swiftly, and nods.
"rihaku-san calls her 'lass'." basen protests.
"the nickname came about since her inner palace days, and she finds no complaint about it. that said, i don't think she took to it kindly when you did so." jinshi-sama looks a little off-put by this, but not overly displeased. "considering their difference in age, how he is courting her sister, and their acquaintance since then, she was not averse. are you not just a year older than her?"
"as for you. don't you know it's rude? even father calls her with some affection." his sister whacks him again. he clutches the side of his head in pain. basen frowns. it's true though, that his father had taken to calling her Xiao-something. however…
"i don't know her name though."
three pairs of eyes look at him disbelievingly.
"it's been three years since you first met," jinshi-sama says first. he almost doesn't sound sure. "the fugu case that your father told you to accompany her on."
"well."
"haven't you worked together several times? wasn't she brought along the hunt? i heard from our father that you passed out immediately after eating the food she was eating."
"um."
to deal the crushing blow, his elder brother finishes with, "wasn't she the one kidnapped by the shi clan a while back? weren't you supporting his imperial highness on that ambush?"
having nothing to say, basen hung his head. jinshi-sama looked more troubled than before. "well it's not like she'd care, though…"
"you asked for a consultation with her without even knowing her name," his sister clicked her tongue. "pathetic."
and with that, she returns to the paperwork laid out before her. basen turns to jinshi-sama, who only looks at him in exasperation. his brother doesn't say anything, but there's an unmistakable exasperation in the air.
"…i will relay my report now?"
"go ahead."

“I now pronounce you, husband and wife.”
You met Tanaka’s teary eyes with your own, your love for him displayed in the depths of your sparkling eyes. Hands held together, he leaned forward and pressed his lips against yours. The distant whoops and cheers were washed away in the background as you melted into Tanaka’s arms.
Reluctantly pulling away Tanaka mumbled, “As much as I enjoy this, I don’t think this is supposed to last as long as we would like it to.” You giggled and cupped his face in your hands, pressing a light kiss on the side of his mouth. Hand in his, you both turned around and smiled at your friends and family. Multiple flashes lit up the area as pictures were taken.
The rest of the afternoon was filled with games, dancing, and your personal favorites, karaoke from Bokuto and Noya along with Yachi catching your bouquet. As the night crept up on the happy crowd, things were slowly put up and goodbyes were said. You and Ryuu had a honeymoon planned, but didn’t leave until the day after tomorrow.
“Well Mrs.Tanaka,” Ryuu said as he twirled you around to face him. “Shall we...head off?” He pressed kisses against the side of your neck, slowly trailing up to your jaw. It was moments like these that would stick with you, soft and intimate where Ryuu saw you as a goddess in his eyes. You smiled and let out a small sound of agreement, eyes closed and head tilted back. Ryuu smirked and lifted you up bridal style. You gasped and clutched onto his suit, sending him a playful frown as he laughed.
“How are we-” you were cut off by Tanaka’s tutting. “Ah ah ah, that my dear y/n has already been taken care of. It’s a surprise.” You wondered what he could’ve possibly pulled off but knowing him it could be anything. You tried to slide out of Tanaka’s arms, but he tightened his hold on you and insisted that you stayed in his arms. You made sure the ends of your dress weren’t dragging on the ground as he carried you to the entrance of the outdoor venue.
“No Ryuu...you didn't.” You stared in awe at what was a horse drawn carriage with flowers and lights decorating the cabin. Two beautiful and large mottled gray horses at the front, the driver sat behind them on a small bench.
“You like it?” Tanaka asked smugly. He was quite proud of himself for coming up with this (with the help of Suga) and knew you would love it.
“Do I like it?!” You screeched, hitting his chest. “This is like a dream come true,” you sighed happily. Pressing a kiss against your forehead, he opened the side door and sat you down gently. He climbed in from the other side and leaned forward to speak with the driver.
“Enjoy the ride and view,” the driver spoke with a charming heavy middle eastern accent. At the crack of the whip hitting the ground, the horses plowed forward and set into a trot. Giggling you gripped Tanaka’s arm overjoyed. You felt like a real princess with your prince in your carriage.
The ride was everything you could’ve imagine and more. The pleasing clop of the horses hooves and the light breeze that blew through your carriage windows paired perfectly with the twinkling lights that were strung around you. Tanaka made several sneaky passes at you but you quickly admonished his horny self so you could enjoy the ride.
You were disappointed when it was time to get off, you could ride that for hours living out your princess dream. As you sat daydreaming about the ride, Tanaka opened your door with a flourish bow holding his hand out to take yours. You grabbed it and stepped out, giving an exaggerated curtsy. You thanked the driver expressing your enjoyment for the ride and waved goodbye as the horses pulled him away.
“This way my queen,” Ryuu had picked you up again and carried you to your front door. Pausing, he looked at you intently then stepped over the threshold. You grinned and gave him a kiss, patting him to put you down. “Not a chance my love, I'm taking you to our bed and ravishing my beautiful wife.”
You squealed as he raced to your room, lightly throwing you on the bed. You sat up on your elbows with a hungry gaze as he took off his suit and tie, leaving him in a tight white button up and slacks. The faint outline of his abs pressed against the shirt catching your attention. Tanaka smirked and flexed before unbuckling his pants and practically tearing off his shirt. He crawled on top of you, hungry gaze traveling up and down your body.
“You look so beautiful in this dress y/n, I almost don’t want to take it off. But,” he drawled out before slowly pulling down the zipper on the back of your dress. Your breath hitched at the feeling of his calloused hands brushing against your back. Ryuu murmured compliments of every part of your body as he carefully took your dress off.
Bare in your bra and underwear, Ryuu traced kisses up your stomach to the middle of your chest. Sucking your nipple through your bra he expertly unclasped it with one hand, the other sliding down your panties. You lifted your hips and let out a faint moan, the ghost-like feeling of Tanaka’s lips on your breast seeping through the fabric.
“You deserve to be worshiped my goddess, don’t hold back I want to hear you.” Ryuu mumbled as he slid the straps of your bra down your arms before attacking your breasts with his mouth and hand. You let out a moan and fidgeted beneath him, grinding on the thigh he placed between your legs. Your clit pulsed and the feeling of an incoming orgasm tingled through you. “R-ryuu I’m gonna cum,” you moaned, gripping the sheets as he nipped at your nipple and tweaked the other.
“Cum on my thigh princess,” he growled before digging his thigh harder against your slit. You let out a wanton moan and grounded against him as you fell apart. You twisted your head as Tanaka stood up, the two of you breathing heavily. Your eyes drifted down to the tent in Ryuu’s boxers, the head of his cock poking out the slit. Without thought you pulled down his boxers, his cock springing up to hit his stomach. You wrapped one hand around it, your fingers struggled to meet. You pressed a kiss on the swollen head before peppering kitten licks all along his cock.
“Fuck y/n,don’t be a tease princess.” Ryuu pried open your mouth with his fingers before gripping your hair and guiding you along his length. Fueled by his moans, you pushed his dick further into your mouth and moaned. Tanaka hissed and ripped your mouth off. “Don’t get me distracted, love, this night is about you.”
Grabbing your ankles Tanaka pulled you forward before dipping his head between your legs and licking a long line up your cunt. You gasped and arched your back at the unexpected pleasure. He pinned you down with one hand on your stomach and the other holding your thigh. Ryuu devoured you like a man who was starved, tongue delving into your wet cunt, desperate to collect every drop of your juice. Your eyes rolled back as he lightly but your clit, sending you into a strong orgasm. You moaned and rolled your hips as Tanaka didn’t let up. He continued to suck your clit as another orgasm washed over you.
“Ryuu please it’s too much.” You whined, thrashing around. He didn’t say anything as he let you go with one last suck to your clit. “Are you ready for my cock princess?” He mumbled while sucking on the inside of your thigh. You nodded and whined, attempting to squeeze your thighs together. Tanaka pulled them apart with his large hands and positioned himself between you, his cock brushing against your pussy.
You gasped as he slowly sunk into you, your walls clenched tightly around him in anticipation. He groaned and muttered out, “Relax princess, you’re too tight. You’re gonna make me cum too soon.” You huffed and let your body relax, sinking into the mattress. He inched his cock forward before bottoming out, leaving you two breathless. No matter how many times you took his large cock, you would never be able to take it without struggle. His long and slow thrusts sent you into a frenzy, but you needed more.
“Ryuu...I need more, faster.” You whimpered, meeting his eyes. He smirked and pulled out before thrusting into you. The force pushed you back and you clawed his back and groaned. He pounded into you, his cock hitting the special spot that made your body twist and turn.
Tanaka moaned and wrapped a hand around your throat. “God y/n you’re so perfect, my little cock whore.” He gritted his teeth, quickening his thrusts. You gasped and threw your head back, letting out a scream as you came.
“Ugh fuck,” Tanaka held you in place, shooting ropes of hot sticky cum into your cunt.
Careful not to crush you, Tanaka laid on top of you supporting his weight with his arms. He pressed a kiss to your sweaty forehead, brushing your hair out of your face. “Ready for round two Mrs.Tanaka?” You smiled and cupped his cheek. “Am I ever Mr.Tanaka.”

Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime (Belle) Novel | English Translation | Chapter 2
Tumblr media
**This is a machine translation. I put it together by extracting text page-by-page from a .pdf version of the Japanese novel, and running it through Google translate. I have only minorly edited some of the more confusing lines to make it more read-able. It is still a very rough translation, but it’s good enough to understand what’s going on. If there is anyone out there who wants to properly translate the novel, I am more than happy to edit it, if you’ll contact me.**

Chapter 2: Suzu
"Buhaa!"
I got up from a thin futon and took a big breath.
That made me almost hit my head against the low ceiling. This is a shabby attic in the countryside, with rafters supporting the roof approaching just above the bed. "Ah, ah .... ah ..."
Tumblr media
It's morning. The sunlight is dazzling. The feeling of the glittering world up to that point remains. I close my eyelids because I want to reach for the residue. Certainly I was standing at the tip of the whale's nose and singing. Wearing gorgeous costumes, singing freely. When I open my eyelids, in front of me is a smartphone on the sheets with the display turned off. On the dark surface, you can see yourself illuminated by the sun. The faded pajamas I've been wearing since I was in junior high school. Messy hair from sleeping. Half-open eyes.
And the freckles scattered on my cheeks. It makes me very depressed. I sigh. Then, I heard my father's voice from the first floor, "Suzu? What's wrong?" I feel impatient. Of course, this isn't a soundproof room, it's just a miserable 7-year-old girl's room. The only way to prevent the sound from leaking out is to wrap it in a futon. Was my voice louder than usual? If so ... The cold sweat of regret floats on my back. "No, it’s nothing ...!"
I hurriedly reply that while crawling on all fours off the bed. What if he’s suspicious and comes upstairs? No, I don't think he’ll come. I changed into my uniform and went downstairs. I didn't see my father. He may be preparing to go to work. He opened the porch and left the window down to let in the cool morning air. He lightly cleaned the living room and dining room and cleaned up the magazines left on the table. While boiling the water, I put the flowers in the garden in a vase and placed it next to the photo frame in the kitchen. He puts a tea bag in a mug and pours hot water. Steam with the scent of black tea boils. My mother is still smiling in the picture frame today.
I'm eating rice. I was sitting on the porch, drinking tea. Dad, who wore a dark blue T-shirt on his tanned skin, came out to the garage with a backpack containing work tools on his shoulders. "Suzu, I’m leaving." I replied, keeping my mouth on the mug. "... Okay" "What about dinner?" "... I’m fine."
"... I see. Then, I'll go." Dad must have been in trouble. I could understand without looking. The engine of a four-wheel drive vehicle starts. After backing up, it turns back and goes down the slope. The sound of the tires travelling across the pebbles slowly drifts away.
I wonder how long I will not make eye contact with him. How long has it been since I stopped talking properly? I wonder how much time has passed since we stopped eating together. There was a notification sound. A balloon pops up on the screen of the smartphone. "Belle is the best beauty created by the virtual world "U." Languages around the world are translated instantly.
"Very unique and rare song" "Belle's song is full of self-confidence" "The most notable presence in 3 billion accounts"
The text balloons went up one after another, competing for the lead, and in a blink of an eye filled the area around the bell icon. But I have no joy, no sense of accomplishment, no sense of exhilaration. No matter how much attention Belle gets, it doesn't matter. With my mouth in my rimmed mug, I shut myself in my shell. The balloon with one comment swells up significantly. It is one of the functions of balloons to enlarge and display the comments that attract the most attention.
Of the tremendous number of comments, the one that attracted the most attention was "Who is she?" I don't think most people in the world know about it, but Shikoku and Kochi are proud of their rich climate, where the steep mountains that cover them, and of the beautiful blue shining clear streams that flow through the valleys. More than 150 years ago, we produced a number of people who dramatically reformed the long-standing feudal society of Japan, which is also one of our prides. The daylight hours are top class in Japan. Alcohol consumption is also top class. Perhaps because of that, my city’s personality is clear, and is said to be friendly and cheerful. But even in such a situation, some people are dark and are always looking down. One of them is me. My house is in the corner of a village with about 30 houses on the slope of a mountain.
A river called the Niyodo River runs ahead of me, and is connected to the opposite bank by a subsidence bridge. A subsidence bridge is a bridge without balustrades, and is designed so that it will not be washed away even if the river rises and the bridge sinks. I cross it every day unless this bridge sinks. The flow of the Niyodo River is still quiet and blue today. Occasionally tourists come by rental car and take a number of pictures on the subsidence bridge, saying that it's beautiful. It's a nice village, isn't it? They do not know the truth of the area. With the school bag on my side, I go down the stone steps and walk on a steep slope. A neighbor's grandmother who was sweeping and cleaning used to call out to me, "Oh, Suzu-chan, good morning," and so on. But not now. The shutters of many homes are tightly closed.
The number of people who live here gradually decreased as they died or moved to the city. There are many such settlements in the Niyodo River basin. It is said that it is near here that a sociologist coined the term "marginal village" long ago. I've been told many times since I was little that adults say that the number of people has decreased surprisingly compared to the village’s peak population. It is at the forefront of a declining population, declining birthrate and aging society, faster than anywhere else in Japan. That is an unmistakable fact. There is a stop at the end of the national highway after going up the slope. The rusty timetable at the bus stop only shows times in the morning and evening.
It's not yet time. After a while, the bus came. I sit in the usual seat at the back of the bus. No one else is in the bus. Passing through the stops one after another. No one is on board. While the bus is shaking, I dimly look at the bulletin board near the driver's seat.
"This bus route will be discontinued at the end of September.”
I live in a place where no one wants to live. It stands right next to a steep cliff approaching the rough sea. I reach the end of the bus route and transfer on to a train.
High school and junior high school students in uniforms from other schools come in little by little at each station. The closer you get to the center of the city, the less visible the floor is, and the two-car train fills up with customers. An announcement in the car tells me the name of the station I should get off at. I see many students of the same uniforms on the way to school. Together we climb a gentle slope. I am one of them. That gives me a lot of peace of mind, maybe.
The summer sunshine is dazzling. Last fall, the brass band was playing in front of the symbol tree in the courtyard. Many students surround it and listen to it. The announcement of the brass band is always popular. It's not just about playing. All players take steps as they perform. It's a lively and fun dance. All the instruments have the steps perfectly matched, yet the performance does not get twisted or shaken. I and Hiro-chan (short for Hiroka) also listened to it from the veranda on the 2nd floor of the gymnasium. When the first song ended and the second song started, a slender tall, beautiful girl was holding the alto saxophone in front of her. She came out. She shook her long, loosely waved hair and played her solo without any disturbance, taking attractive steps from side to side.
"……Cute."
I instinctively say it aloud. Luca-chan - her full name is Ruka Watanabe – I am sighingly fascinated by the lively beauty of her. I can hear the voices of other girls watching on the same balcony.
"Luka-chan is the princess of our school, isn't she?"
"She’s slim and has long legs.”
"Even if she wears a uniform, she look like a model."
They nodded together, saying, "Right~?”
Hiro-chan has a voice that only I can hear next to me, "The jealousy of kids who are neither thin nor slender...,” turning the pages of her book. The girls' voices can be heard continuously.
Tumblr media
"Luka-chan naturally acts as a coordinator for everyone."
"I'm sure everyone will come together like Ohisama," Hiro-chan frowned at the back of her silver-rimmed glasses. "They’re annoying. In that respect, Suzu is like the opposite of Luka, so it's easy for no one to come near us."
"Hi- Hiro-chan…"
"Hmm?"
"You have a poisonous tongue, I wonder if you can be a little kinder....."
"A poisonous tongue? Who?" At that time, a loud voice that interrupted the performance echoed in the courtyard. "Why don't you join the canoe club?" Everyone looks back. "It's Kamishin!" "Kamishin has arrived!"
Kamishin – full name Shinjiro Senzu - has a canoe paddle in his hand and a banner with "CANOE" written on his back, and appears randomly.
"Oh, senpai. What about the canoe club?"
"Wow! Stop, Kamishin!"
"Don't enter, that's it." He chased the boys, and then laughed and ran away. Then, he turned around and headed for the group of girls.
"Hey, why don't you do canoeing?"
"Kya ~~~!" The girls scream seriously and run away.
"Oh, hey, let's do some canoeing!"
"Dangerous, run away~"
He is serious, but the reaction around him makes the Kamishin look like a weirdo. He’s like a beast that jumps into beautiful women and rampages.
"Hey, canoe ..."
Watching the girls run away, I feel like defending the hard work of Kamishin.
"It's amazing to start a canoe club by yourself, isn't it?"
"But he's the only one in it."
"I wonder why.”
"I wonder~”
Hiro turned her eyes to Luka, who seemed to be anxious about the hustle and bustle while playing. Luka stiffened and turned her back to Kamishin as if she didn't want to see him. Hiro-chan does not overlook the gesture. She closed her book and turned her stern eyes to Luka. “You’re being looked down on.”
We left the gymnasium and wandered around the school. Chorus club, biology club, light music club, dance club. Various club activities. The activity was appealing to each. As I crossed the glass-walled corridor, I heard the cheers and applause of the girls from somewhere.
10N1 was held at the one-on-one outdoor basketball court. It is a solicitation performance of the men's basketball club. A ball is thrown into the court for the next game. You can see a boy in a hoodie who catches it with a lean hand.
"Ah ..." The game starts. Shinobu-kun, full name Shinobu Kutake, slowly dribbles and watches the situation. The opponent's senpai is raising his right hand as a checker, being wary of the jump shot. Shinobu lowers his hips. Shinobu tries to pull out with a low dribble, but the opponent's guard is tight and he withdraws. When he thinks he has stopped Shibobu, he suddenly shoots a jump shot from a short motion.
Tumblr media
He’s fast. The senior hurriedly reached out with his fingers spread out, but he couldn't reach Shinobu. The previous move was a feint. The ball drew a beautiful arc and passed through the goal net. The girls lined up in the corridor on the 3rd floor gave an enthusiastic applause. But Shinobu doesn't even smile. His coolness is attracting attention from girls in school. Before the applause stopped, the court had already moved on to the next game. Shinobu-kun, while measuring the timing, dribbles low to push the defense away. As if to say that you can't win even with power. If you forcibly cut in and pull out the senior in a blink of an eye, you will definitely go to the layup. There is a pleasant sound of the ball slipping through the goal net. Again, the girls' applause echoed on the walls of the school building. I told Hiro-chan,
"........ Shinobu-kun, I didn't think he would be that tall."
He’s my childhood friend.
"He was your childhood friend?"
"Ohon. Actually, I've been proposed to by Shinobu-kun."
"Seriously? What?"
"[Suzu, I'll protect you], he said.”
"When was that?"
"When we were 6 years old."
"....... Even if such an ancient story is spoken…"
Astonished, Hiro sighed. Another goal was scored. In the applause, Shinobu-kun, who finished the game, went out of the court alongside his senior without even smiling. Shinobu-kun, my childhood friend. He’s no longer within my reach.
I came back from school and crossed the subsidence bridge. I was with Shinobu from kindergarten through the lower grades of elementary school. After that, Shinobu moved to the city and we were separated. He was in my high school and we became classmates again. But it isn’t like it used to be. At that time, I didn't expect to become a child who is always looking down like I am now. There is a reason why this happened. I saw the quiet stream of the Niyodo River. Yes. That is an ancient story. A white bird passed low on the surface of the water.

Barok van Zieks compared to every other prosecutor
While Barok is undoubtedly his own character, I noticed that he has something in common with, or is a direct parallel of, almost every one of his predecessors.
Spoilers for every game of the series, of course.
Miles Edgeworth: Barok was clearly modeled to resemble Miles superficially.
Their designs are similar to one another: Barok has a messier version of Miles’ iconic haircut and they both have a cravat. Their similarities are more apparent if you compare Barok’s fancy outfit with Miles’ rookie outfit.
They’re both serious, reserved, professional (more or less) and not great with people. Miles is however more smug in court, while Barok is almost completely stone-faced.
They both have a scary nickname, the Demon Prosecutor and the Reaper of the Bailey - Barok is, of course, set up to be a subversion of the cliché started with Miles, the perfect untouchable prosecutor.
They both care a lot about finding the truth, even using questionable means to do so (coercing a testimony out of a mentally ill witness vs. trampling over Scotland Yard’s authority). However, Miles had to reach that point after grueling character development, while Barok already starts out this way - Miles helping Phoenix in 1-3 is considered a huge deal both in- and out-of-universe, while Barok helps Ryuu pretty much every time.
Both of them have a tragic past that involves the death of an older, dear relative and a miscarriage of justice that left them disillusioned. Interestingly, Miles eventually adopted the idea that “you never know who is guilty and who is not, so I always try to get a Guilty verdict in case”, while Barok specifically goes for people who are guilty and only escape justice through illegal means (until he meets Ryuu, at least).
Obviously, both of them were falsely arrested in a trial that forced that tragic past to come to light, although Miles learned something comforting (he didn’t kill his own father), while Barok learned something world-shattering (his dear brother was the Professor and Barok sent the wrong person to jail). They also got closer to their rival because of said trials.
From what I gleaned from the Japanese version of DGS, they both speak in a similar way, using watashi and not bothering with polite speech - with Barok it’s even more obvious with his iconic oyurushiitadakitai, “pray forgive the discourtesy”, which is non-polite keigo.
Franziska von Karma: not much, actually. Both of them come from a noble Germanic family, are cold and socially inept, look up to their older brother (but they express this in very different ways) and became prosecutors to follow in their family’s steps. Otherwise, Barok never expresses any feelings of inferiority over Klint, and his courtroom strategy is the total opposite of Franziska’s.
Godot: this is going to be fun :)
Both of them have a personal but unjustified grudge against their rival attorney.
Both of them drink a lot in court, and they like to use metaphors related to their drink of choice (at least in translation, in Japanese Barok is not as obsessed with wine).
Both of them disappeared for 5 years after something traumatic.
Both of them are still grieving the loss of a loved one, which is the reason they’re so unpleasant in the present.
Both of them do (and say) questionable things because of their unhealed grief.
Both of them eventually bond with a young perky girl with no parents.
Both of them are associated with death, but in a different way.
Both of them are a twist of the “perfect prosecutor” cliché - Godot never lost a case because he never prosecuted before meeting Phoenix, while Barok is not feared because he has a perfect record, but because of the legend of the Reaper.
And, as we know by know, Barok’s famous Legjection comes from a scrapped idea for Godot. Basically Barok is Godot’s counterpart!
As a contrast, Barok never killed anyone despite being suspected of doing so, while the final stretch of T&T is proving that Godot did kill someone.
Klavier Gavin: both Barok and Klavier looked up to their older brothers who turned out to be killers, although Klint is more sympathetic than Kristoph, and both of them were manipulated into falsely convicting someone with forged evidence. Otherwise, I don’t think I can say anything more than this post by @draceempressa hasn’t said already.
Simon Blackquill: they're both intelligent, dark and intimidating, and people suspect they might have killed people, but in reality they're full of sorrow and they've accepted the idea that they might die. They also both particularly outrageous in court, with Simon straight up walking away and Barok Legjecting :P there is a reason Capcom associated Simon and Barok in their Capcom Café art.
Nahyuta Sahdmadhi: they’re both racist against the protagonist. More seriously: they’re both associated with the concept of “predestined failure” and giving up to their fate: Nahyuta is fond of saying “let it go and move on”, sure of the fact that he can predict the outcome of the trial, and he also resigned himself to being Ga’ran’s puppet for the sake of protecting his sister and mother, even though he stood aside watching hundreds of people die (he protected his close circle and caused harm to the greater community); it’s commonly accepted that “van Zieks” comes from banjikyūsu, “all is over”, emphasizing the legend that no one can escape death once they’re prosecuted by him, and Barok himself, while knowing that he’s not the Reaper, resigned himself to accept his role to keep crime rates low, even though it meant being an assassination target for years (he protected the greater community and caused harm to his close circle). Oh, speaking of which, they were both used as instruments of deaths, but Nahyuta was aware of it, while Barok wasn’t, and Nahyuta wanted to protect a young girl related to him, while Barok was kept away from a young girl related to him to protect her. Their appareances are one the opposite of the other, similarly to how Nahyuta contrasts Simon: the Last Rite Prosecutor is associated with white and he’s holy looking, while the Reaper of the Bailey is dark, associated with black and dark blue, and he looks like a creature of the night.

Karasuno popsicle eating competition? 👀👀👀 (i saw you were bored so-)
Karasuno Popsicle Eating Competition
choco omg i loved this concept even though i was definitely not expecting it in the middle of fall, but also, i absolutely get. i spent all night thinking about this so thank you, you successfully cured my boredom, and now here it is, i finally wrote out all of my ideas. please enjoy because i had way too many thoughts about this ♡
Tumblr media
Karasuno
100% Nishinoya’s idea.
What? He literally adores Garigari-kun popsicles. A proper popsicle enthusiast and therefore of course it would be none other than him that would come up with such a plan.
You would probably be walking home with the second-years after practice after a quick stop into Coach Ukai’s store to pick up snacks on the way.
Classic meat buns and crinkly packs of chips that always felt like they contained more air than well... chips—that’s what most of you had gotten. But Nishinoya? It was him and his trusty popsicle (soda flavored of course).
You had to stop too many times to keep track of because he kept devouring them before you could even blink and somehow the lucky bastard kept getting the ones with the sticks that qualify you to get another popsicle for free. You best believe he was cashing those in instantly.
You bumped Tanaka with your shoulder to get his attention, not taking your eyes off of the back of Noya as he disappeared up the hill and back to the store. “Why doesn’t he just buy a whole box of them at this point?”
“Mmm,” Tanaka hummed in agreement, hand deep in his bag of potato chips. He stuffed a few more in his mouth, crunching in thought. “Good point.”
Noya was never gone more than a few seconds and you didn’t even get the chance to reply before he came barreling down the hill, blue wrapper in his hand—prize secured it seemed.
The group didn’t resume walking just yet, waiting to see if finally Noya’s reign of exploiting Ukai’s store for free frozen treats would come to an end. (You were hoping the stick at the center of the popsicle would turn out to be blank, not have another cheesy message about how “You won an extra popsicle! Take this stick to any participating retailer to cash it in.”)
“Aren’t you tired of running back and forth?” That was Ennoshita, chewing on his meat bun and looking like he very much wanted to go home.
Noya pulled the popsicle out of his mouth to reply, tongue already stained blue. “Nope! It’s good cardio, plus I get a reward at the end!” As if to prove his point, Noya punctuated the end of his sentence by shoving the popsicle back into his mouth. It wouldn’t be long until he reached the stick and you guys would (potentially) have to wait another five minutes for him to repeat the process all over again.
“It makes sense to buy more than one though. We’re never going to get home at this rate,” Ennoshita grumbled. He was clearly too tired to be dealing with this or he would have dragged Noya away from the store by his ear a long time ago.
Before Noya could bring up the benefits of running up and down a hill in the middle of the night (on a school night nonetheless) again, Tanaka cut in. “Yeah, why don’t you buy an extra one for me, dude. Then we’ll match!”
It was like a switch was flipped and Noya’s eyes lit up, widening. “Dude, great idea!”
“Right? It was (Y/N)’s idea actually.”
“Tanaka, that was not what I said.” You were quick to defend yourself, casting a nervous side glance at Ennoshita who was already glaring daggers at you.
“Either way, I still think it’s a good idea. I’ll be right back-”
“Oh no you don’t.” Ennoshita grabbed a hold of the back of Noya’s shirt to prevent him from running off (he’d already gotten in position to run up the hill—getting two steps in before he’d been stopped—and if Ennoshita had been a second slower Noya would have gotten away completely).
“Even if you did get one for Ryuu, I don’t know if it’d be very fair,” Narita cut in. Clearly he was just being nice and thinking about everyone, but words had a tendency to get twisted when it came to matters like this, especially when the other second-years were involved.
“Yeah, what are the rest of us, Yuu? Chopped liver?” Kinnoshita finished off his meat bun and crumpled the empty napkin he’d been holding it with into a small ball in his hand to throw away later. He was smirking mischievously and you could tell he wasn’t exactly opposed to the idea of free popsicles.
“True. You really should be offering to get all of us one.” Of course Ennoshita was the one to deliver the final blow. The trio could be real menances when they wanted to be and judging by the look they all shared, they were clearly enjoying poking fun at Noya.
And of course Nishonya took their words seriously, a thoughtful expression taking over his features. Sarcasm? Not detachable when it came to popsicles. “You’re right.” Uh oh… Nishinoya having that faraway look in his eyes was never a good sign. “And if I get it for all of you then… I should just get for the entire team!” His voice increased in volume as he spoke until he had the sudden epiphany at the end that he shouted. Energized by the thought, he made to go run towards the store again but seemed to forget the vice grip Ennoshita still had on him.
Nishinoya struggling against the hold and Ennoshita trying to pull him back so you guys could finally go home and work on your excessive amount of homework quickly turned into a yelling match. You should have known it would turn out this way...
It looked like things were about to get messy, so you decided to intervene, speaking hurriedly before someone lost a limb in the scuffle. “I think it’s a good idea. Let’s just all go ask Ukai now if we can have popsicles tomorrow for practice and then we can go home.” You said the last part looking pointedly at Ennoshita—listen, you were also tired so you knew exactly how to get through to him. How Noya could keep going like this after a full day was beyond you.
There were a few more moments of grumbling and arguing but eventually everyone caved and agreed. And thus you six made the trek back up the small incline to the store perched off to the side. (“No, Nishinoya, we can’t ask him to bring only soda flavored ones. Where is the variety?”)
The jingle of the bell had Ukai looking up from the magazine he was reading and he fixed all of you with an exasperated stare. “You six again? Don’t you have homework or something?”
It didn’t take much convincing to get him on board and he waved a dismissive hand, leaning back in his chair, cigarette between his lips, and opening back up his magazine. “Yeah, yeah, whatever. Just get home already. I don’t want to be responsible for you getting back so late.”
He for sure delivered on his promise because the next day at practice you found a cooler hidden away in the storage closet in the gym. About an hour into a grueling practice session, he called for a break and revealed the surprise (thank god because Nishinoya had been buzzing with anticipation all day, almost spilling the secret several times, and you were sick and tired of it, please send help).
To say the team was excited was an understatement. The sweltering heat of the gym wasn’t exactly ideal and everyone was dying to go out into the summer sun—at least in the outdoors you had the chance of a light breeze whispering across your neck and relieving some of the suffocating tension of the weather.
Moving everything outside, you helped set up the cooler in the nearby school field.
Takeda was surprised that Ukai even considered doing something like this out of the blue and you overheard Ukai admit that he had been working the team pretty hard for the past few days and that they deserved a break.
The atmosphere was relaxed as some of the team members took up residence on the grassy field, sitting among the bright green and running their hands over the cushiony ground as they got situated.
Leave up to Nishoinya to completely ruin that.
Parking himself right in front of the cooler near the top of the hill and thus preventing anyone from gaining access to the mouthwatering treats inside, he declared, hands on his hips for emphasis, “We should make this a competition!”
Daichi was not having it. “Nishinoya, get down from there, we are not-”
“Challenge accepted!” Hinata and Kageyama were already glaring at each other, determination written all over their faces. (You’re pretty sure either Tanaka or Nishinoya told him some lie before about how eating an ungodly amount of popsicles would make him better at volleyball.) At this point, they were simply waiting for Nishinoya’s signal to begin.
“Now that’s the spirit! Let’s start!” And with that Noya stepped away from the cooler with a dramatic sweep of his arm, bowing low. That’s all the confirmation Hinata and Kageyama needed before they made a beeline for the cooler—you should make sure not to get in their way during this part because they are taking this very seriously.
Tsukishima would just scoff at their childishness, telling them to hurry up and move because they’re hogging all the space.
Tsukishima would not participate in “stupid competitions” of any kind, although he would take a popsicle (begruidngly so after Yamaguchi kept pestering him to do so; secretly he really wanted one though).
You could probably find Tsukishima sitting on the gym steps, rolling his eyes at Hinata and Kageyama. He was also the perfect distance away to throw snide comments at them without risking his safety. Just adding fuel to the flames from the sidelines—that was his role.
Yamaguchi would be perched faithfully next to him eating his own popsicle and Yachi would be leaning up against the side of the gym building since there was no more space left on the steps, talking with him. She kept getting over excited or focusing too much on the conversation though, so the sticky juice of her melting popsicle would be trickling down her arm before you could warn her.
She gets very embarrassed over the whole thing once you point it out and then when she’s busy flailing her arms in apology, that just gets the juice everywhere and then she feels even worse about it, and it’s a whole cycle from there.
If you wanted to join the trio, Tsukishima would not be willing to give up his spot on the steps, but if you kept bothering him about it, he’ll probably give in eventually to get you to shut up or you could take your chances trying to shove him over.
Yamaguchi would take pity on you and squeeze over a bit so you would have room, even though he barely had any space for himself.
Or honestly just go stand next to Yachi, she would be more than happy to have someone else to talk to. The only thing is you have to keep an eye on her melting popsicle or else the above scenario will probably happen except you’ll be right next to her when it does. I sure hope you didn’t wear your favorite shirt today.
Kiyoko is the unofficial referee for the competition.
She was appointed after a unanimous vote was taken between Tanaka and Nishinoya—yes, only those two got a say in it—and technically she would be the official referee if not for the fact that the official default for Karasuno is always pure chaos. Rules? There were no rules. Was this even a competition anymore? Why is everyone taking this so seriously? Does no one have any ideas for a prize for the winner? Why is Asahi on the floor?
Speaking of Asahi, he’s in charge of giving out the popsicles and supervising them in the cooler.
Noya tried to get him to join in on the real action of competing, but Suga and Daichi were absolutely against it because Asahi just looks like he would win. To them, that was automatically cheating (poor Ashai).
Kiyoko helps him out because she doesn’t have much of a job if the boys are doing whatever the hell they want anyway.
Please go hang out with those two at the cooler. You’ll have direct access to all of the popsicles (you now hold all the power) and you can actually relax and have a calm conversation—perfect for some lounging around in the sun. And if you did want to witness the chaos of the competition? Well you also have a front row seat to that. It’s a win-win situation honestly.
Nishinoya and Tanaka were, of course, a part of the competition with Hinata and Kagayama. Now the debate of whether the challenge was to eat as many popsicles as possible or to just eat a certain amount as fast as possible was up in the air because by God, they were doing both. That couldn’t be healthy.
Daichi originally started off just watching from the sides, shaking his head in disapproval and barking reminders at them to slow down lest they choke while on his watch.
Suga was next to him of course, eating his own popsicle and telling him not to be such a stick in the mud. He was enjoying this a little too much and honestly was already hatching a mischievous plan to join in on the chaos himself. Definitely cheers for everyone in order to rile up the situation further and then elbows Daichi in the gut when he tells him to stop encouraging them.
On one such occasion, as he rubbed at the sore spot on his side that Suga kept hitting, Daichi narrowed his eyes at the popsicle in his friend’s hand, taking special notice of it now. “Suga… what flavor is that?”
“Cherry. Why?” He continued eating innocently, although he had an inkling of where this was going to go.
“Didn’t you have two cherry ones already?”
“...maybe.”
There was a gasp of betrayal. “You know those are my favorite! You’re trying to eat all of them before me aren’t you!”
The bold accusation leads to them sharing a look and a tense beat of silence passing before they both sprint to the cooler, digging among the other flavors for the highly coveted cherry.
“It’s mine!”
“No, you have to learn to share!”
They inadvertently end up in the competition through this alone, grabbing as many cherry popsicles as they can and piling their arms high.
You have to remind them that the popsicles are going to melt if they keep that up and then there will really be none left, which then sends them into a new flurry of ripping open the packages and chomping down on the glistening red treat inside.
If you join in on the competition, I hope you have a big appetite because everyone involved is not slowing down anytime soon. They’ve doubled over due to brain freeze a few times already but that doesn’t seem to be stopping any of them. If you chicken out at some point, you will be socially outcasted. You have been warned.
Ennoshita, Kinoshita, and Narita are actually being normal and sitting a bit away on the grass, eating their popsicles at a normal rate (not scarfing them down like some people) and actually enjoying themselves.
Ideal group to join—lots of space to sit near them and stretch out on the field, good view of the uh… “competition” (can it really even be still considered that? what do you call the absolute chaos that’s going on there? honestly, why is no one stopping them? where are you, coach? isn’t this your job?) but still a safe distance away from the chaos, and lots of things to discuss. That’s right, these three know all the drama going on in school so sit back, eavesdrop on the gossip, and enjoy. You may or may not choke on your popsicles a few times because how do they even know these things.
Lean back on the grass and bask in the sunlight with these three—the good vibes are there. You’ll probably all end up laying down in the grass after you finish eating and just talking, poking fun at each other and rolling around in the grass in laughter at the latest antic or joke you’ve come up with.
Coach Ukai probably should have thought this over a bit more because it’s hard to get anyone back to practice after having this small taste of freedom (also tensions are still high after the competition so no one wants to work with each other anyway—let’s hope the grudges don’t last long), so he basically gives up for the day and dismisses “practice” early (it had already spiraled way past that at this point so the term was used loosely).
Everyone who was involved in the competition either never wants to hear the word popsicle ever again or they’re feral for more once the cooler is empty (Nishinoya).
Who would’ve thought a normal walk home would turn out like this?

I'm curious who are your favorites out of your ocs?
I'm not sure what the series are that you're drawing them for, but they're all very elegant looking. So full of life 🤍
What are your favorites like if you have the time to explain?
OMG-- OOOOO THANK YOU FOR ASKING 😭😭💞💞 I APPRECIATE THIS A LOT 😭💞
Right now, i personally like Neo, the crazy(?) younger brother of one of my histories 🤔 He's a little childish, a little too Immature. Also he's obsesive over a girl who crearly shows her despise towards him (i think i didn't showed her yet), He kind of wants a motherly figure but twisted. He has a lot of traumas and his brother is in love with him so yeah ... Why my histories are so fucked up oh god. I like Than, the older brother, too<33 both of them got serious issues-

I like Yuu (Or Yoru? 🤔) too! He's a vampire king of a mixed kingdom! I actually don't have too much decided for him, whether he's a noble vampire or a converted one... I like him bc despite being small he's without doubt better than most of the adults out there💪🏻. Also even when he looks cold, he's indeed very kind hearted, loyal too<33 Truly a capable and trusty one

Also my alien girls, Thelgex and Melmex! Thelgex is the one who has shorter "hair", Anyways. They came from a planet where the population got reduced to only women! They have such high quality technology, even their bodies are so refined, they're top on all. BUUUT, They have almost no emotions. Despite that, there are no crimes, they're perfectly behaved and distinguish between good and bad. Anyways, the girls can have emotions! Though, they're considered anomalies in their planet, and aren't allowed to leave (They consider it dangerous, and actually it is, because they feel more intensely). Melmex is part of the few who has emotions. She slipped away when Thelgex was leaving the planet and got away with her dnkdfkfm.
