When you’re lamenting shows, books and movies changing Monkey Kings Backstory until its unrecognizable and everything that made him him is gone, wanting a version that doesn’t butcher his character so thoroughly, wanting something where he’s smart, and clever, and silly, and terrifying and values his monkey fam- and then your remember you already have that version and can just go read the book
