Anyways, I did some sketch studies on Griselda Sastrawinata-Lemay's concept art! I really like how they drew Asha's hair in those sketches so I tried to focus on that.

Ooo and what interesting questions!

1. How did you pick TKORAT as its name?

There really isnt much behind it. I was just thinking about the rose isignia and how normally there are thorns on roses. Also since I was thinking of the term like how a rose seems beautiful on the outside, but are nasty (aka the thorns).

HOWEVER, there was another term that I have recently heard that fits pretty well. Where very pleasant thing, event, or situation can have a bad or unpleasant side.

Though I was also not thinking of the meaning very much at the time, and I thought Rosas....Roses....Roses has Thorns- AH-HA I got it! The Kingdom of Roses and Thorns. 👹

2. What inspired Bonzai?

Numero Uno: Opossums needs more representation. Plus its a character that feels unlikely for a princess to have (besides Cinderella bc yk the mice hehe)

Numero Dos: ...I didn't like Valentino in the movie lowkey...and I like goats however cannon Valentino is not the exception.

Also because they're a bit more easy to draw. However, I was between:

Ferrat, Great Eared Nightjar, and a normal house cat.

But the opossum just stook out to me sooo yeah :3

For color pallet though, it was on a image of a opossum I saw a while back and it really felt Asha coded lmao

3. How has Asha changed throughout your rewrite?

I feel like she hasn't changed much, however her situation definitely has-

PLUSSS she has another added thing that I personally added that does reflect off one of the main villains. (Then again it was my intention for the heroes to somewhat reflect the villains, not a lot but enough for people to see :3)

And I then remembered that I DIDN'T come up with funny shinanigans with Asha as a apprentice! And that itself is a sin done by me..BECAUSE IT IS SO FUNNY-

Like imagine restocking potions and then you go to see the king, then you see this Man on the floor:

How the royal couple literally not snapping until a star to reappear is insane (though ik why it happened much later to that moment)

4. Favorite character to write/draw?

Okay....its Magnus and Agatha-

I hate to admit it but I really enjoy writing/drawing their dynamic. And it is so much fun to see the irony in their characters. Cause believe it or not, they started off-

I still find enjoyment in Star's relationship with Asha, even if I kinda alr had figured it out :3

5. How many changes has your Star gone through?

Lets see...he went from "I want to prove the stars wrong!" to...

yeah that pretty much sums up everything

However where I am at with his character is quite dependant on how the Fallen Stars work in my AU. So when I figure out that aspect, he might change slightly.

But his personality largely stayed the same lol. They're a really silly guy. The only thing that changed was his outfit. I didn't drastically change their hair lol

ONe thing that did change was how the stars functioned. And they are still a mix bag of emotions.

On one hand they are nomadic...I think?

On the other hand...they're assholes.

Idk man its a huge lore thing that I gotta figure out sigh...

I’m also trans and now 2 months on T and I can literally already feel my body monologue going from “feeling icky about weight gain” to “but actually that would be kinda sexy though”. I’m not fat, but…would that be so bad?

As a small thanks may I offer…

If she hadn’t been there for apocalypse level events, I think the Everlight would have really enjoyed growing fat. Really enjoyed the aspect of mortality that is being embodied, but more than that, would have really enjoyed sharing in food, this central love language, with her mortal loved ones. She is the paragon of hugs, let her have some weight on her.

(Sidenote: chubby pike is canon, as is Scanlan gaining weight, and I love that for them 💜 . But. Genuinely fat Pike has my heart. Like femme muscle chub not-so-little monstah? Hell yeah)

Likewise, in the opposite direction, fat Asmodeus? Asmodeus who wants to take up all the space, who revels in being something some people are disgusted by and indulging instead.

Hell, the arch heart growing fat and seeing their body as an art form. Beauty doesn’t have to be thin; beauty can be round arms and artfully posing your fat rolls and having more room for tattoos.

The wild mother being fat in times of bounty and comfort, and preferring it to being bony or lithe, because she feels safer this way, gentler this way, more physically comfortable with some padding.

ive always felt every character of ashleys radiated chubby energy. the everlight is no exception. probably due to my own journey, but i cant untangle redemption & positive change from gaining weight. it's inherent comfort. it seems pike saw that too.

i am always invested in fat devils, because debauchery is literally part of their territory. i headcanon teven as a massive musclebear, so why not asmodeus? he no doubt shifts his body constantly - if everyone sees him differently, may as well make a show of it. he grins when he notices someone blush at this form, knowing their interests immediately.

i live and breathe the fat elf agenda, so i love an elf god being big. i really love cr has broken elven stereotypes constantly - corellon as THE elf progenitor played by a black man, many of the elves/fae having facial hair, and we even know a few who are fat! what makes an elf isnt some proximity to whiteness/thinness but rather how stunning they look, how strikingly beautiful that a human needs a moment to process it.

i dont know if you know anon, as your phrasing implies it's headcanon, but your idea for melora is exactly canon! her presentation as asha was pale & sickly like the burned world, but we know now in this age of exandria, at least pre-calamity 2, she has the round & fertile figure of a true wildmother. the land has grown bountiful & lush and so she has too. heres art of her right now!

im honored you find this foray into fat headcanons lovely. and im glad you're becoming comfortable with the idea of it. when i first looked for trans resources a decade ago i was bombarded with nothing but tips for "keeping weight off" and being a gym bro, and seeing others also see they could get bearish and accept it in this day and age is heavenly. not everyone has to engage with it but just being able to deconstruct the fatphobia so present within our spaces is worthy in itself.

@saltwaterwoods It's true and I was SO SURE that they were setting up the greyjoys for something big this season but it just....never went anywhere. I'm hoping there's something massive in the final but even if there is this season has been baffling in terms of screen time

yeah i was sure this season was gonna be greyjoy season  and i was so excitied but so far it hasnt been really -  and the pacing is kinda off  this series i dont what it is about it but some parts are really rushed through and other times it takes ages for things to happen but they hyped it up so much like it was gonna be big greyjoy content like with the storm is coming with the ships and everything but then to do  so little with them desnt make much sense unless something big happens with them in the finale but even so everyone including cersei focus on the white walkers makes euron kinda irrelevant no?  team dany mention like twice between them so clearly he is not a priority unless they are gonna include the  dragon horn thing which tbh doesnt seem likely atm  but i could be wrong but idk the show never seemed to like the greyjoys what with cutting a lot of them and doing precious little with ones included except i guess theon they never finished asha (/ yaras\?) plot and gave her victarions aeron isnt really in it and apparently is totally cool with euron but i guess he cant be like the king must be victarion if victarion  doesnt exist  euron was meant to go to dany not cersei  balon didnt do well anything alannys never even got mentioned by name  and even without mentioning the numerous eunuch jokes they cut theons tree scene and gave a lot his big identity moments moments to sansa instead even the i am theon greyjoy moment or the let me die as theon   i love sansa and even ship theonsa yeah i like their relationships but those moments are theons but people were like um whys theon in sansas plot and im like sigh and like i love iwan and i aint hid that  but ramsay was meant to be a side character in theons story not the other way around just why dont you love the squids got
