my favorite thing ever is whenever we do our weekly D&D campaigns, we’re always in a dead end somewhere. So now every time I say something stupid the rest of the party always follows me so here we are, 9 players teaming up to seduce a couple of vampires and a werewolf just because Aurelia (me) here was trying to flirt her way out of being bit and killed because that’s all she knows how to do 😭

when in doubt, just seduce the enemy and they’ll most likely let you go (unless you’re the wizard of the group who keeps rolling straight 4’s with their modifications between 1 and 5) 💅🏻

#imagine being like. one of the last dudes to join the 'awake' people #everyone's so used to treating you like an npc already #or like. towards the beginning when the group that's already connected up figuring out who else is looping #based what crazy hijinks happen across town #''who do you think's hit day four this time?''#does the loop finally end when everybody's aware of it?#if most everybody is awake does it stop feeling like a real time loop?#like there's no carryover of material consequences #but everyone still remembers what you did #someone is pretty sure they are the original looper but maybe the first one was actually a loner retiree who does the same thing every day #and didn't even notice until like day 30 #anyway imagine the possibilities

#hua cheng is the dm and he plays favourites #he’s only doing this because xie lian thought it would be fun #xie lian doesn’t know any rules and somehow never rolls above a 10. and yet #mu qing does know all the rules and made the most min maxed monk possible #feng xin spent a very long time making his paladin and begging Xie Lian to convince Hua Cheng to let him smite on ranged attacks #and then forgets to actually name his character until the first session #they all made their backstories connect #even though xie lian’s is the only one that hua cheng uses for plot #san lang is hua cheng’s overpowered self insert dm npc that feng xin and mu qing hate and xie lian loves #shi qingxuan joins late with a storm sorcerer and an incredibly fucked up backstory #he xuan plays because hua cheng makes him #he spends more time eating snacks than actually role playing #mu qing dies like 5 times in the bbeg fight and has to keep getting revivfied #feng xin gets knocked unconscious in round one and is so mad about it #uhhhhh xl and hc just make out in real life and then hc gives him advantage or inspiration #this is not good dnd. they are not good at this. but they’re having fun

the thing about X6 is that he's essentially a slave given to the Sole Survivor by the Institute. and I think that the fandom's treatment of him would be different if the game addressed it or even just said it

#forever crying cause x6 has no companion quest #i mean like. would be cool if fallout fans could read implications but also i think im one of the very few who actually think about x6 #like. what the hell.........#also obv the institute synth slavery plotline was incredibly mishandled and also bad but like. everyone knows that #fallout 4 would be SO good if it was good #one thing i think about the synths. is that there are different divisioms of gen 3s #the common one: normal artificial human-cyborg basically. BUT has a short life expectancy (like... 10-15 years? short in general)#for the coursers i cant decide whether theyre upgraded commons (which would make them 'a class above' with some 'gifted' individuality)#or if theyre just. made to kill. superior physically and mentally. proficient with weapons. uncommon. even shorter life expectancy tho #and the impersonators made specifically to inflitrate the outside world. who have a life expectancy much closer to a real human #but theyre uncommon (usually community leaders) and theyre hard to make. so the commons are also sent up a lot of the time #and the institute goal in all this is to secretly control the commonwealth societies AND to use the synths (with 'a shorter life anyways')#to clean the commonwealth of radiation and create safe spaces and generally make it good and safe. and also perform eugenics on the humans #so that after the commonwealth is safe and non irradiated etc. the institute humans can actually come out and have the world ready for them #and they'd be provided for etc etc. which would make a convincing goal for a vault-like society AND have the ss actually consider joining #but with obvious flaws in their plan (maybe not even their grandchildren would see the outside. the synth slavery obv (with disregard for #their lives). the basically slow genocide of the outside humans and ghouls and all mutated life. like itd be so good #also the short life cycle of a synth (especially a courser) would make an x6 story so tasty. like. hes probably what? 6 or 8? not a lot #is he a child? not really. an adult? i dont think so. hes just here and hes going to die soon and theres nothing you can do #could be a nice ground for a companion quest where hes free and learns how to live to the fullest for his remaining years or smth #also the short lifespan (finally remembered thw word) could actually be a reason for synths to be considered less than human #cause in the base game its just like. theyre just some guys with metal in their heads and i guess they were made in a lab (noone could tell)#coming back to the institute. they would be so full of themselves and scared of the outside and pretty pathetic that thered be no way #to talk them into changing their plans and working with the outside world. but youd have to think about it a bit cause their supplies #WILL run out. its a matter of time. and they will NOT work with the other factions no matter what. so if work against them youll doom them #which is why we could use some innocent institute npcs too. or like... show some children there or whatever. make them human too #but you also see how much destruction theyre causing in the outside world (insert quest about synths like... the mcdonough quest or smth)#damn and i thought i wouldnt go on a tirade in the tags again.... alas #well here are my almost 2am thoughts about the institute and that its stupid in base game #fallout 4 would be so good if it was good

the dude whose content i tend to recommend as a better alternative to pat's unhinged rambling put out a new video in his 3 part skyrim series and he has bad stormcloak takes too

(i dont feel like being eloquent so im just gonna ramble in the tags)

#i shouldnt be surprised considering pat promotes him at the beginning of his video but i was holding out hope #its at least a little more sound than pat's owning the libs rant #dude makes salient points using ulfric's dialogue and tries to argue that 'skyrim belongs to the nords'#refers not to removing every other race but to returning control of the province back to its ''native'' inhabitants #instead of the empire (full acknowledgement here that nords as native inhabitants is incorrect but it's the easiest way to summarize this #point he's making. significant amounts of the land belong to the forsworn etc)#which from galmar and ulfric's dialogue may well be true given they dont Bar you from joining the stormcloaks and seem to lean more into #the imperial conflict when prompted #but regardless of what ulfric and galmar may say the overall influence of their movement has incited racism on a mass scale and they grey #quarter and argonian dockworkers still exist #stormcloak aligned npcs as a whole will still insult you and tell you you dont belong unless you're a nord #dude argues that the two guys harassing the dark elf woman in the front of windhelm arent representative of the stormcloaks because they #arent soldiers but theyre clearly aligned with ulfric's side #(he also insists that the woman saying it's 'not [her] fight' (irt the civil war) is selfish on her part somehow #and then goes on to give the whole 'but the dark elves are meanies too >:(' argument pat does #theres also the ex stormcloak guy who talks directly about ulfric being a racist but op writes him off because his dialogue mentions #khajiit caravans and the like who he says arent ulfrics citizens #but it reads more to me as bad bethesda writing than that dude being written to have shit arguments #as op and pat are trying to posit #i dunnou man I think if we're gonna argue this we need to look at what the game actually gives us and not what we think #bethesda was TRYING to say if we're gonna pick apart this questline in good faith #you cant just be like 'well i think todd didnt MEAN for them to be as racist as they are so theyre not THAT bad'#and then take all the other content in the game at face value and criticize it that way #cake eating it too etc #anyway sorry for being MIA outside of the queue im working on a restraining order against the wizard at work

my toxic trait as a dnd is player is that I'm obsessed with making fantasy communities and if you leave me alone with my thoughts for too long I'll turn my characters simple backstory into a whole fucking town that has its own history and culture and then walk up to my dm and be like 🥺 "Can you put this in your world please?" 🥺

#My first dm ruined me this way #Bc he gave each of the players their own side missions based on backstory n love that I did this #bc I've written like half of the quest for him already Including NPCs #I invented a religion in his world to justify some character choices I made for my barbarian #And he just rolls with it and it's incredible #Like I go 'my character has a twin sister who went to magic school'#And 'when my character left her tribe she joined a crew under the captain Tommy Wisgnome on his ship the antechamper'#And then my dm goes cool #Your sister graduated magic school and now works as an advisor to a power dragon king #And Tommy actually is a former agent to a disbanded CIA like government agency but still retains some powerful contacts #Anyway yeah they'repowerful but if you want help from either of them you have to deal with the politics they're deeply embroiled in #Like God fuck yeah #I still have to get used to the fact that other dms don't Do That #Bc I'm over here crafting nuclear story bombs of NPCs from my backstory on accident #Bc I cannot stop fucking thinking about absolutely ridiculous concepts that have nothing to do with the main story #And then putting them in my characters backstory bc they sound neat #Like girl help me #I pretty much always turn my characters family/caretakers into NPCs bc like how you were raised influences you a lot #And I like being like my character is this way bc they grew up around these ppl #And then my brain took it a step farther and went #Okay now I'm going to create a whole ass setting bc my character acts this way bc of the culture they came from as a whole #Like hello!!!#It feels rude to just be inventing cities at someone else's table but also I'd love it if my players did this #I have no idea what is proper dnd etiquette #Anyway currently having big thoughts abt the village my teifling gnome is from

#yeah this is about Theo and Tsumaki. who else 💀#I don't remember if I've explained why they're important to me. tl;dr they're my dnd blorbos and I need them to kiss or I'll go crazy(/ier)#Theo and Maki are original characters Pigeon created to use in a dnd campaign 3 years ago. Maki was her player character #when I joined the campaign late and without a character. so she asked me if I wanted to play would-be npc Theo. I accepted #and these ocs were always childhood friends... but then we concocted a romance betweent the two #that campaign was canceled before we could play out said romance. but we never stopped writing and drawing about them on our own time lol #that was Nov2020. then in May2022 we rebooted them to use when the Overlord campaign started :)#anyways it's Feb2023 now of course. and Theo and Maki are STILL on their slow burn bullshit (/aff)#I need their romance to be canon IN SOME UNIVERSE and THEN I can die peacefully #anyways abridged theomaki lore dump over.
