RP Guide

Hi, I'm Cloud, and god gave me a pair of hands and too much to do with them.

I rarely rp on tumblr these days because my good friend carpal tunnel likes to cast Numb Your Hand if I type too much at a time, especially on my laptop. I am also far more available on discord (my username is cloudbat) during my work days.

I like to rp all kinds of things, but I favor long-running narratives, humor, and exploring Alternian social norms. I have a deep and enduring love for complex platonic relationships, though I find romantic shipping fun too.

I don't write nsfw, though I have characters who will make risqué jokes and the like. I'm fine with rping violence and manipulation, though I'm not interested in gratuitous heavy gore or edgy material for its own sake.

My characters range from very canon compliant to not at all, and I'm overall happy to work with others' headcanons, since this is a shared setting and all. If something is a hard no for me, I'll say so.

I really like cavern jades, helmstrolls, the Alternian medical and psiionic fields of study, and biotechnology. If those things interest you too, I'd love to talk about them!

I'm having a nostalgic day and thought this might be fun. I'd like to see your oldest troll creation wise (earliest made), and your oldest troll age wise! Feel free to do multiples of each if the times are iffy!

I'll start with mine under the cut!

My oldest creation wise are a tie between Brekah and Avrith! There's their very first art/designs in the middle from way back in 2012!

Age wise would probably have to be Infina (who is in major need of a full design/update) who is tens of thousands of sweeps old. A rainbowdrinker matron of one of the oldest caverns on Alternia, and with connections to many others as her followers and descendants go manage their own caverns. There may or may not be a magic vampire cult involved.

But for a bit younger but more story meat on their bones we also have

Lytner and Montig nearly tied in the high thousands, with Lytner just a few sweeps older than her wrigglerhood friend. A mage, scholar, and exorcist on one side, and an emissary to the writhing, dark, and horrible on the other. Their lives have taken very different turns, but they try and catch up every few centuries.

She's a grubtuber with a good amount of followers for an olive. She does make-up videos. She's notoriously for hosting parties and allowing trolls of every caste inside, be them invited or not.

A jadeblood who has an blog where she posts about her daily life in the Brooding Caverns. She complains about how boring her job is and how annoying the rustblood Tirona Kasund is. A typical rebel teenager who spends too much time pouting and using her phone. She wishes she was a rainbowdrinker, so she could overcome even a fuchsia.

A great example of how looks can fool. Except that culling several trolls is already to be expected of a purpleblood like her. However, she chose to only cull trolls who she thinks are deserving of death, instead of random, innocent civilians.

He does want his mansion’s picturesque cliff and lake fixed, and he doesn’t feel like footing the bill from last sweep’s explosion all by himself.

So a deal has been struck, caegars have changed hands, and now the undead and the mirthful go hand in hand, all indulging in their own delights beneath the chandeliers of the Alternian Yule Ball.

I followed for the one piece x homestuck meta lore

yk what, anon. as a treat ill explain what ive been thinking about earlier

(spoiler warning for up to wci, i think. its hard to remember what lore was revealed when, sorry.)

for the context of this world, devil fruits probably exist. or they can be psionics, but im honestly not sure which route i wanna go. celestial dragons are for sure fuschiabloods, no doubt. the alternian government is just the marines and are led by highbloods. alternia’s hierarchal system fits pretty well into one piece i’d say. the empress would just be imu, but there would be more than one fuschia running around. perhaps the world is a lot more flooded than alternia and theres different islands so the maps pretty similar to the one piece world. thus, its a bit harder for the troll marines to enforce their laws.

gol d roger was a limeblood who forever changed alternian history by telling people of his hidden treasure, the one piece. this led to a huge wave of pirates, and more open opposition against the empress. limebloods such as gol d roger to this day are still being hunted down by the government due to the threat they pose to it. the oppressive nature of the marines is the exact same as the alternian government, so i hope i dont have to explain it too much.

hancock’s been on my mind a lot lately, her tribe as well. i think they’d all be jadebloods that were once cloistered and now live on their own away from alternian authority. hancock and her sisters were enslaved by fuschias at a very young age, eventually escaping and forming their independent tribe. she has a strong distaste for highbloods.

i felt like jade fit very well for hancock as well as her whole tribe considering jadeblood culture. jadebloods are also pretty rare compared to other castes are are almost always born female. cloistered jades are also isolated from the rest of society to focus on their duties, and have much more pacifist views compared to the rest of the world. yada yada i think it fits perfectly. i also think hancock and her sisters would be rainbowdrinkers… that could be why the rest of the kuja tribe worship/respect them. rainbowdrinkers are regarded as myth in alterian culture, but are worshipped/romanticized by cloistered jades like theyre all twilight fans basically

big moms pirates just feel like theyd be a group of juggalos to me? a huge family of purplebloods obsessed with violence and food.

the vinsmokes… oh man. judge was an indigo scientist who strived to create the most cracked goldbloods; living weapons of destruction that can hold in immense power. goldbloods are often used by highbloods to power things such as ships, and are typically regarded as just living batteries. since goldbloods are known for their great psionics, judge wanted to combine their powerful psionics with the strength of a highblood, since highbloods tend to live longer and have more natural physical strength. sora is forced to participate despite her efforts to foil the experiment. since the vinsmoke children are a mix of goldblood and indigoblood dna, their blood is an odd shade of green/teal; because of this, sanji ends up disguising himself as a tealblood. his abilities are not unlocked until much later, but the genetic modifications done to his body explains his fire psionics and unnatural strength. the other vinsmoke children are some of the mutants permitted by law since theyre being used to benefit the alternian government and empress in the long run.

i will probably write more posts but im just trying to get some of my thoughts out while i still remember. please talk to me about this im down to talk about anything. i can also classpect characters and explain why i think that if anyone wants

I truly do love making Ji's life more difficult because he dates Jamie and Viltau, since Takamis are Not Supposed To Date Highblood Murderbastards; they're supposed to keep the trust of their low and midblooded staff and not run the risk of being dominated or used by higher castes.

Unfortunately for Jikiro he values both his bad taste in men and the trolls who work for him, which takes some careful handling to keep both sides happy.

Rose & Kanaya doing a version of the Twilight scene where its like "what are you" "say it" "vampire" but Kan just goes "What???? I'm an alien?" And Rose is like "I have to leave immediately. For no particular reason." And she just sprints away. Cut to Dave hanging out on their couch or whatever and Rose runs in out of breath like "SHE'S AN ALIEN NOT A VAMPIRE. FUCK" and Dave's like "what" and Rose is like "ALIENS ARE, LIKE, 75% LESS HOT THAN VAMPIRES, DAVE" and Dave's like "okay and" and Rose goes to sulk and brood. Smash cut to the next day and Rose stumbles on Kan drinking like. Vriska's blood and she's like "??????" And Kanaya's like "You discovered the other half of my Dark Secret. I'm a rainbowdrinker" and Rose fistpumps for a solid minute before enthusiastically making out with Kan. Cut to Kan carrying Rose into her house & Dave is still on the couch and Rose just shouts at him "SHE'S AN ALIEN VAMPIRE, THE WEDDING IS BACK ON" and Dave is like "okay? what wedding?" And then Rose ignores him & directs Kan to her bedroom so they can have gross vampire alien lesbian sex The End.

Since we’re talking Kanaya, the fandom forgets how much she was Jade’s counterpart to the Sgrub session. Her house literally was built to look like a moon tower of prospit/derse, like Jade. She takes gardening, like Jade, and she lives right next to a frog temple, like Jade! She does diverge from Jade taking an interest in hunting the undead and rainbowdrinker romance novels, which the fandom seems to forget because much of Kanaya’s story gets tied to romance! She was the last landdwelling troll introduced in Act 5 Act 1 and she starts of as the “meddling fussyfangs” as described by Vriska!

Her character introduction is losing her flushed interest with Vriska but still pining for her so she vacillates Eridan and Vriska’s kismesitude after Vriska mind-controlled Tavros to kiss her and Eridan broke his moirailigence with Feferi. Her only interaction in Act 4 is talking with Rose (and mistakenly one time with John who was on Rose’s computer) and that settled the dust, Kanaya bounces from one romance to another until she landed on Rose, and she had enough superficial traits and prose to her serious-straightforward-clear-intentions attitude that was flanderized in the progressing acts.

Fans still forget Kanaya’s “impromptutations” quip she gave to Karkat, in fact people forget how much Karkat worked out her love issues at the end of Act 5 Act 1 and some of Act 5 Act 2.

I don’t ship Karkat/Kanaya as flushed, but there is appeal to the dynamic since Karkat is the one person who, despite being all shouty, doesn’t ask of anything from Kanaya, and listens to her issues. It also correlates that Karkat’s refusal to engage with Rose’s troubling behavior and alcoholism that damages her flushed pairing with Kanaya and Terezi’s pitch romp with Gamzee after (possibly) dating Dave for a short period of time. It goes to show even after Karkat’s shipping concerns and fear of inter-species connections was overblown, he is a crux to hold the meteor together.

Back to Karkat’s shipping, we know he drew Jade with Dave and Rose with John, but didn’t account Rose being into women. As it turned out Rise may have had a subconscious Freudian bullshit crush on Jade, since Rose hooks up with Sgrub’s version of Jade Harley, and when Jade needs to surrogate a child. In secret. With a married woman… Rose doesn’t seem to refuse. Maybe, just maybe it’s because Rose does still want that smart, cheery, independent girl she knew all those years.

To summarize, if Kanaya is to be a good character with depth and realism, keep her close to Karkat. If you want Rose to stay monogamous (in the specific way she isn’t seeing a secret lover) keep her FAR AWAY FROM JADE HARLEY and if you want Rosemary to work as a ship, KEEP KARKAT AS CLOSE TO KANAYA AT ALL TIMES.

Don't forget that John had to remind Karkat about them being made in ectobiology and that incest was a taboo in human standards, much to Karkat's annoyance since incest is fine on Alternia. He had considered shipping DaveRose and JohnJade. Karkat and Kanaya are also close also parallels to The Dolorosa and The Signless relationship. The Dolorosa raised The Signless/Sufferer, but sadly had to watch him be executed and be sold off as a slave. Only to die later by Dualscar's jealousy. Karkat being able to save Kanaya from grief and pain would give a good closure for their ancestry.

Rosato Sekaan is definitely not a rainbowdrinker. As if vampires are real, that's ridiculous. He would remember if he had died, and the fact he developed this gross glowing skin disease and can no longer eat his favourite garlic dishes could mean anything. And he definitely does not drink any blood, that's disgusting and unsanitary and he doesn't want people's fluids anywhere near him. Yuck.

Though, this man is not just in denial about his undead status, he legitimately cannot remember ever dying. As far as he's concerned, he got ambushed one night, then woke up some time later covered in blood and with a splitting headache. Since then, he's had problems with retaining memories (both short- and long-term) and long periods of blacking out then waking up with no recollection of what happened in those missing moments. He thinks its nothing he should care about, anyone else knows he's been going feral and feeding indiscriminately, and perhaps the bandages covering his eye that he refuses to remove at all costs is hiding something...

When not being Totally Not A Vampire, Rosato runs a winemaking business and tends to the vineyards on his property, and also enjoys painting landscapes and still lifes. Yellow is his favourite colour, it tastes the best.

Some extra fun facts:

His lusus is a giant tortoise, who he has named Coco.

He wears a mask and gloves and bandages up any visible skin whenever he leaves the hive. No he will not simply wear longer sweaters, he likes his crop tops too much.

He can't stand the sound of people chewing, sniffing, and swallowing. He also can't stand the sound of gagging, but he'll gag at the sight of any bodily fluids and set off his own misophonia in a terrible feedback loop.

The last jade troll on an island where their cavern was closed up Faidca did not have the privilege of cloistered life, she instead spent her time micromanaging her friends in the form of anonymous hate asks and sockpuppet accounts commenting on their chittr posts.

She likes to say her hobbies are her friends.

In between this she manages to have an online flirtation with the titular Keiyju, who she initially only knew as the lunatic up the hill but, when getting to know her through some mutual friends and/or enemies developed a rapport with. This resulted in her getting killed by Keiyjus kismesis matesprit in a convoluted act of jealousy and blame throwing for some nasty computer viruses, which in turn (heh) turned her into a rainbowdrinker.

Unfortunately she does get sent to a cavern on some other planet when she ascends, and is once again forced to only talk to her friends though msm. Someone better break her out before she looses her mind. She also has a minor mutation in her eyes which is why she wears the glasses, they're kind sensitive to light.
