The one in Salem was Derby Square Books! Though I spent years calling it the Fire Hazard Bookshop. You could also barely see the man behind the register, he had so many piles of books around him. And alarmingly long fingernails iirc. Visiting that shop was more like checking out a local attraction than a place to buy books because it was NOT browsing friendly. I was sad to see it go. Wicked Good Books took its place and it was ok, if really sparse, but then THEY moved a few streets over and now I believe it's just another tourist shop for witchy junk. Alas.

I'm not defending Salem by any means. But I don't understand how some people say her motives aren't clear, or that she's evil for no reason. As if she's a generic BBEG.

It's all about Ozma. It's always been all about Ozma.

Her initial lie of omission to the Brothers was for Ozma. Her rebellion was for Ozma.

Then?

Ozma and Salem had a fight about how the new humans should live. Salem wanted to rule over them, while Ozma did not. This argument, and Ozma's betrayal, led to a fight.

We've seen Salem and Ozma fight before. Salem uses rainbow colored rays of energy. Ozma is the one that causes explosions strong enough to destroy whales (and castles).

Salem obviously loved her daughters, and blames Ozma for their deaths, as we saw when Salem thought she was meeting Ozma again:

And then, what did Ozma do? He became the king of Vale. And helped build the other kingdoms. He built the huntsman academies to protect the relics. He subtly created a whole organization of powerful allies to influence the councils of every kingdom.

Ozma did what Salem had suggested anyway.

Ozma (secretly) runs the world.

Of course she wants to tear it all down. Of course she doesn't care about anything else. Ozma betrayed her, and at least in her eyes, killed their daughters. Ozma did this so Salem wouldn't run the world with him. And instead did it alone.

Salem could overrun the kingdoms with grimm easily. But that's not what she wants. She wants to undermine Ozma's work. Because it's what Ozma sacrificed their life together for.

So she goes after relics. She kills huntsmen. She destroys huntsmen academies. Because they are what Ozma chose over her, and what she thinks Ozma killed their children over.

I don't agree with it. But like, I get it.

In a town far from civilization

Ruby: *Looking at the view of the forest* Wow, I have to admit that this adventure has its moments. What a beautiful view.

Jaune: And it's only going to get better. I booked an eight-hour mule ride to get to the other town.

Ruby: Jaune, doesn't that sound dangerous to you? The terrain doesn't look so good.

Jaune: Ruby, what could go wrong?

Moments later

A terrible storm falls upon our heroes. Jaune, at the front with his mule, tries to guide everyone to safety.

Jaune: GET TO THE BRIDGE IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!!

Nora: AND WHAT ABOUT PEPITO?!

Nora says as she grabs onto Ren and points to one of the mules being taken by the flood created by the rain.

Jaune: PEPITO NOW BELONGS TO THE FOREST!!

(Pepito was later rescued safe and sound)

It's funny how Watts is clearly more nervous of Tyrian than he is Salem because he knows Salem's smart enough to not kill him so long as she has need of him but Tyrian has a switchblade where his brain should be and is entirely liable to just stab Watts to death because he felt like it that day.

I like the idea of Adam as a character more than I like the actual character of Adam. I just can't get the idea of what could have been out of my mind. A badass swordsman, who actually cares about faunas rights but eventually becomes like the very people he hated.

I’m so curious as to the results of this (also if other please let me know who).
