a short list of SG-verse Karadox fic recs

because there are not nearly enough, but what is there is very, very good!

first of all, again, everything @winterskywrites writes

also the fics written by @sholiofic and @padawanton and @nancywheelxr and @ithinkthingsaboutstuff and @loveofshows and @mistyautumn

and, uh. me. (although some of mine are from before brainy was introduced, and thus, inaccurate. but still, whatever.)

but! expanding beyond Tumblr, there is:

Clouds Between Their Knees, an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE fake dating AU fic! oh my god. so beautiful. @fairyroses is so wonderful and I’m glad we have her. brilliantly captures Kara and Brainy’s points of view, and their relationship, cannot wait for more of this

everything written by @elektrawwf? an amazing future AU, with some great fics featuring more background on Brainy and his family, as well as an original character I won’t name

The SuperBrain Chronicles by @crypticbeliever123. more set during season 3, but still really good, exploring Kara and Brainy’s relationship in that time period.

A Scattered Dream by @brainy-storm, focusing on Brainy’s dreams before he’s woken up in 3x10. Great character exploration, leading up to his first official meeting with Kara, contains a lot of allusions to other versions of Brainy!

Blue as a Daydream by @prurientpuddlejumper , set after 3x10 and focused on Kara dreaming about him sometime afterwards, and how he reacts to that. Very cute, very wholesome.

Perfect by thegreatstoryteller, very short but still sweet, implying some less wholesome things but still good!

Behind her smiling eyes by @miraculousagentsofkrypton has only hinted Karadox, but I love it so much so I wanted to put it in here anyway! Kara-focused, Danvers sisters + Brainy movie night, set after season 3. Basically a perfect fic. A little bit sad, but also worth it.

Mutual Understanding by local_loser, another set after season 3. A little bit long for a one-shot, but written very well, captures Brainy and Kara’s perspectives and voices excellently.

Love is Not Ours to Command, even though it’s only kind of Karadox also, but @peskyshortcake did such a good job with it that I still wanted to put it here. The other fake-dating AU, sadly not canon because someone screwed up time and prevented it from being possible. anyway. it’s great. read it.

Care by thelastcall, another longer one-shot, set after season 3, focused on Brainy- appropriately enough- taking care of Kara. Again, cute and wholesome, one of my pages on my phone’s internet since I read it.

Boy Trouble also by thelastcall, set after 4x04, including how the events of 4x02 affected Brainy! definitely looking forward to seeing how this goes, moving on. love this one so much. super cute. this author captures Brainy and Kara’s voices, again, perfectly. just the best.

Teo Torriatte by EmmyGracey, adorable and sweet and the ideal Karadox proposal/engagement oneshot fic, I think they’ve also written a couple more very good Karadox fics

Arrowverse one shots by YunaVeerle, they’re not all Karadox but they are very good

this wonderful fic by @twoheartsofsteel

reasons not to kiss her (reasons to kiss her) by @uarejeff , an absolutely beautiful fic exploring a universe where kara originally lands in Kasnia, instead of superman finding her. I’ve read this one several times, I love it a lot.
