Rolling the idea around in my head that the Goat is from a reality that is, at Least aesthetically, a mirror of The Lamb's. Lambs are often depicted as innocent and pure for sacrifice, and in the game our lamb deals with a lot of creatures that are very "demonic" in design. Goats, on the other hand, are often associated with more satanic sacrifices and imagery already. So imagine if in their world, the gods and enemies they face don't look demonic... They look angelic. Pale forms and eyes and haloes and wings. Goat enters Lamb's reality and nearly trips over themself when they see the Mystic Seller because usually things that look like that want to Kill Them. (And as a bonus, Lamb's form/magic we glimpse in the final boss fight has feathered wings - so maybe the Goat's has more batlike wings and an impish tail instead~)

ok. okay. i started working on my timeline again, and wanted to place the time verlaine stopped being black no. 12 and started being verlaine. this is gonna be a longer post so i'll add a cut here but for the love of god read it please. the parallels between dazai & chuuya as compared to rimbaud & verlaine are driving me mad

in rimabaud's last journal entry (the one about giving verlaine the hat for his birthday, the one before the suribachi incident that releases chuuya) it is stated that it had been four years prior.

now. i got this number off the bsd wiki because i can't find a translation of rimbaud's profile in the third official guidebook, but according to that, rimbaud was 27 at the time of the 15 era.

the suribachi explosion happened 8ish-9ish years prior, putting rimbaud at about 19 at the time.

which? following this, rimbaud and verlaine met when rimbaud was 15. quoting rimbaud's journal, before this verlaine, aka black no. 12, had been "pan's guard dog."

now, parallels time. first of all, the obvious, fifteen goddamn years old.

though verlaine's case was much more violent and also shitty in general, technically speaking chuuya was also relieved from being the sheep's guard dog at 15. by dazai. as verlaine was aided by rimbaud.

there's something to be said about rimbaud's constant insistence that verlaine is human despite the evidence compared with dazai's assertion chuuya is human throughout stormbringer as well, but that's a given

i had more thoughts in mind but, damn. it all comes back to being fifteen years old, doesn't it.

I think there's a lot you can tell about a Ninjago fan based on what objectively mediocre season they're unhealthily obsessed with.

it's been years and it's still genuinely crazy to me that the first two seasons of stranger things had this throughline where all the bad things that were happening in hawkins were directly caused by the us government and that they were excusing the awful things they were doing to their own citizens (children!) through cold war/red scare reactionism. and then in season three there was a secret russian base under the town mall.
