“Blending art and function” - Ecological Salvation Committee A-Class Fertility Installation (ESCAFI) “Gaia 5″

By the 2340′s, various laser light installations began appearing in at-risk ecological zones across the world. Branded as “eco-art”, the ESC claimed responsibility for most of these citizen initiatives, equipped with military-grade fertility radio wave emitters, seed spore release caches, and beneficial genetically modified commensal organisms. The installations and their ecological work could be viewed through several online streams set up by the Committee. Although the installations would emit painful noises when approached by humans, several of them became tourist destinations. The impact of tourism ironically further weakened several at-risk ecologies.

While photographs like this don’t get nearly as many “likes” as just car photos, I love these. One of my influences is a wonder photographer by the name of Jesse Alexander and many of my favorite images from him are of drivers in their cars in unposed moments. They are timeless and feel so human and tell such a great story for me. This photo could be from the 1960’s (well, except fro the GoPro mounted to his roll bar) and I love that about it. . While this image doesn’t tell as much of a story that stands out now in 30+ years from now this will be a historic photo. The currently “modern” helmet, goggles, GoPro and clothing will be “vintage” and will help to tell the stories that we are blessed to live today. I love this stuff. Starting line. Sonoma Raceway, Sonoma Speed Festival, May 2019. I shot quite a few photos of drivers sitting in their cars on the starting line. I don’t know why, but I am a little fascinated with them. I know that I’ve said this before but I wonder what they are thinking and what they are feeling. I’m sure everyone is different but it’s an interesting idea for me. . . The staring line for the Sonoma Raceway faces directly into the afternoon sun so it is really bright when the drivers are waiting–especially those with open top cars. This gentlemen had his eyes closed for quite some time so this wasn’t a shot where I caught a blink. Whether he was praying, pre-visualizing, thinking about __________ or just shading his eyes from the sun I don’t know.
