He really, really wasn't, omg. Sometimes I'm really curious about their first meeting because Travis took him home, and then Emmett stayed, and then Travis just couldn't stop caring. Like, in those early episodes it's very much it's very much Emmett who is all "don't coddle me because I'm a probie" and "don't treat me differently because we hooked" up and "don't make a thing of it". And Travis keeps caring and trying despite all that. Until it becomes clear that Emmett isn't cut out to be a fire fighter and that hits him where it hurts and it catapults into the other direction. He never responds to any of it with a shrug, like, the "DON'T EVER SAY MY NAME AGAIN", that is some serious jilted at the altar dramatics, Travis.

IDK, so much of their early relationship happens of screen, but I feel like it's very obvious from Travis's strong reactions to everything Emmett does that he was really into him from the start.

I'd love to see or know more about their first meeting as well. Emmett was very much introduced as a one night stand that lingered a bit. And then oops, he starts working at the same place Travis does. And oops, he's in the closet! Awkward! So yeah, I'd love to learn more about how they got in contact.

I really have to do a rewatch because I've only seen it once, but Travis is definitely paying special attention to Emmett when he starts working there as a probie. The fact that Emmett is also a firefighter... Throwback to Michael. Does Travis feel like he's at risk of losing yet another person he's romantically involved with to the job? And then Emmett not wanting to be a firefighter at all... How does Travis feel about that? Relieved because now he's not in danger so much? Disappointed because firefighting is such a huge part of his life, because Michael was one as well, and how can anyone not want to become one? Mixed feelings for sure.

The fact that Travis is angry at Emmett for such a period of time tells me that he does in fact care. He probably doesn't know how to handle the fact that he's developing feelings for someone again. Because caring about someone equals being at risk of being hurt when they leave. Because caring about someone new after losing a spouse probably brings home a lot of new feelings of guilt as well. Is he "allowed" to fall in love again? Does that somehow dishonour Michael's memory and what they had? Does it mean he somehow cares less about Michael if he starts caring about someone else? I can see all those things going through Travis' mind.

On top of that, Emmett does some things Travis doesn't agree with. He stays in the closet longer than Travis would like. He lives his life (in the beginning anyway) in order to please his father and not to do what he himself wants in life. Travis probably can't handle the fact that he's developing feelings for someone who is so different than him. And all of that makes him so angry! But like I said in my tags, the opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. And the fact that Travis is angry shows that he's not indifferent to Emmett. At all.

So I absolutely agree with you that while we didn't see a whole lot of their early relationship (Unfortunately. I wonder if it was always the plan to get them to where they are now? Or if they gave Emmett a larger role on the show because of how good Jay and Lachlan work together?) it is clear from what we do see that Travis is not unmoved by Emmett, from the very start.

I’m not even a huge tremmet fan but this just didn’t make any fucking sense, either travis is bipolar or the writing sucks, I think I know which one it is 🙄

Emmett looked between the two of them, then back at Travis.  “Travis, who are these people?”  His voice was so genuine, so raw and sad that Travis finally took a step forward.  Emmett looked like a lost puppy, or more accurately, a tony lost rabbit and Travis wasn’t sure how to deal with that.

“Uh, Emmett, this is your dad, and Alicia, your fiancee, you don’t remember them?”  Travis hated to have to remind Emmett of a person that hurt him, and one Emmett himself was in the process of hurting, but he did it because, well, that’s what you had to do in a situation like this. Or he’s pretty sure it is anyway.

Emmett beckoned him closer and, while Alicia and Chief Dixon were giving him strange looks, Travis moved to his bedside. Emmett leaned in a bit, wincing at the pain, before he stage whispered “How can she be my fiancee Travis? I’m gay...”

I'm kind of glad you didn't go too much into detail with Edelwooded Ingo bit. (into detail as you do with their third encounter) That summary broke my heart and while I love the way you draw I don't think I could handle it. (same with Emmet getting Edelwooded before)

but I couldn't help myself but chuckle over Tringo... that sounds like something Elesa would also come up if the situation wasn't as serious.

The way I labeled that particular scene was: “Ingo is stuck in a sick parody of his point and call pose.”

‘Tringo’ might be actually be something Emmet teases Ingo about, to which Ingo sometimes calls him ‘Tremmet’ in return. Maybe. After a lot of therapy and they’ve worked through that whole mess of trauma. 8’D

"Oh thank god you're ok," Travis exclaimed as he rushed towards Emmett who was emerging from the hotel doors. A fire starting on their hotel floor was not how they expected their rare holiday to start.

Travis embraced Emmett in a tight hug and felt a wave of relief. He had been downstairs at the reception while Emmett stayed in their room. He had tried his hardest to get past security by telling them he was a firefighter, worried sick that Emmett was hurt, but he didn't manage.

Emmett was still out of breath as he sunk into Travis' arms, also relieved to see him.

"Those were probably the longest 10 minutes of my life waiting for you to come down," Travis said, burying his head in Emmett's chest, not wanting to let go of him.

"I'm ok," Emmett stated as they released from their hug. "Are you ok? I didn't know where you were and got worried too," he said as he caught his breath.

"I'm fine, I was on my way back up actually. Then I heard a bunch of screams and-" he cut himself off as he noticed a red stain seeping out of his boyfriend's trousers. "Is that blood?"

Emmett looked down at his leg warily and cringed as he saw the stain, barely noticing the pain due to the adrenaline he felt just moments ago. "Yes but that doesn't matter right now, what does matter is-"

"You're literally bleeding. We need to get that checked out," Travis cut him off as he bent down to inspect his leg.

"Travis I'm fine. What matters is that we got out," Emmett insisted.

Travis rolled his eyes at his boyfriend's stubbornness. "I'm going to bandage that up for you, how did you get that?" he asked as he led him to one of the aid cars and grabbed a first aid kit.

"There were so many people going down at once, I think at a certain point I got pushed against a wall and hit something sharp," Emmett admitted.

"And you weren't going to say anything?" Travis asked as he gently took care of him.

"Like I said, the most important thing is that we're both fine," Emmett replied. "Should we go see if anyone else needs our help?" he asked, eyes darting towards the crowd around them.

"Can you sit still for one second and let me take care of you?" Travis asked, making Emmett laugh and comply.

Congrats on running the little of what I used to love of the show and my father character. That season has been a disappointment to me since the beginning but yeah, I think I’m done.

And seriously, Travis telling a patient about how he’s feeling when it comes to a patient instead of talking to Emmett himself about it ?? It already happened!! Two seasons ago! At least then he wasn’t there to witness it.

This is the good stuff and good script that Krista promised us for Tremmet? Or was it for an episode later because I’m sorry but there this no recovery for that to me. If they ever otome me wrong, I’ll be happy to admit I was wrong but I doubt it will happen.

And I tried to convince myself that I loved the I love you scene but now I can admit that it was very underwhelming and weird and this is what we get after that?

I’m losing interest on S19, no even the little bit of Inconsistent Marina and Tremmet content is helping, they are really destroying the show….

I don't blame you! It's definitely been tough lately. What they did to Tremmett is so stupid and it felt like they never really got fully invested in treating them like a real couple, despite bringing Emmett back again. But the path they're going down right now isn't good and it's going to take a lot to get people back in their good graces.
