Hades x Odysseus idea!

For short, Hades decided to kidnap Ody because he’s done with Zeus and Poseidon always arguing over him. But then Hades and Persephone fall in love with Ody they decided to sharing him. Zeus and Poseidon are doesn’t like it, not even a little bit.

*drops this and runs* Time loop Ody becoming increasingly more demigod and stockpiling experience and power with each loop which catches the gods’ attention because what the heck. Athena looked away for a couple months and now her ex-champion- ex friend?? is a Demi god. The crew and Eurylochus become very worried, and the second in command can’t help but think, ‘Did the gods do this? Did that wind god do this? Was it the bag?’. Guilt racks him every loop he came to that conclusion. Every loop, they noticed how distant Odysseus is, like a dead man playing with toys just to see what happens. Some loops they grow scared of him and Odysseus pushed down the sparks of guilt in favour of mischievous amusement.

Things sort of are consistent depending on the actions Odysseus takes and some are consistent regardless of his actions. It’s gotten to the point where he can safely predict what’s going to happen next and could only experiment until the day he drop dead for real.

Yet during a loop, something changes. It’s subtle at first; haunted looks, headaches from others, things Odysseus sort of shrugged off but then it becomes a pattern spanning across time. Eurylochus sometimes collapses from horror, unable to look at Odysseus in the eyes. Athena rushes in, frantic and panicked like she saw her champion die. Odysseus would have questioned the changes but he’s too apathetic and more curious than anything to see changes he never created, in the end though it wouldn’t matter. Then Poseidon and Zeus happened and both of them have unreadable expressions on their faces.

Slips of the past flicker in, love, hatred manipulation all unveiling slowly, leaving only the gaps for them to peer in. Odysseus is connected to him, he has to be.

Why else would they sense the titan of time’s power in the fallen king?

Honestly I can see Ody and Zeus having a competition on who can top the other the most. Poseidon helps sometimes because he finds it really hilarious to take his brother down a peg but when Ody gets a bit too cheeky he tops him himself in front of Zeus or if he’s feeling generous, helps Zeus which Ody would gasp dramatically at the audacity.

Neither Zeus nor Odysseus win this competition, that honour goes to Penelope who Zeus can’t really touch because Hera would strike down on them and I honestly see them as having a surprising platonic relationship (shocking I know) and Odysseus… Look the man is a very big wife lover even when in relations with literal gods he would absolutely bend over for his wife if asked.

The preludes to telos

Sand drips down like heavy rain, a never ending cascade in the hourglass of her realm. Athena sighs as she steps down onto the platform, a tapestry weaving together before her very eyes.

“Old friend…” She says, her brow furrowed. “You’ve changed drastically since last I saw you…”

“Remember me…” The tapestry sang, detailing Odysseus’s mistake as he glared towards the blinded cyclops. “I am the infamous… ODYSSEUS!!”

That was the last she saw of her champion after their… fight. Yet in her absence something changed. Something unnatural, mythical yet dangerous. It forced her to stay back by orders of her own father, even Hera has become wary… Yet her concern doesn’t waver, her thirst to know what happened to her champion— her friend… It needs to be quenched. Though she made sure to be extra careful, only viewing the bare minimum. If Odysseus had truly somehow caught the attention of K- him, then she must tread with upmost caution.

“Let’s see where you’ve been..” Athena says, taking a deep breath as she let the tapestry weave forth, surrounding her as strings of yarn shape forth the events.

“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” Aeolus singsongs, the goddess took note that the man before her was still mortal, still alright.

That all changed in the next scene as the storm roars and the seas crash, her champion holding her uncle’s trident, it’s prongs buried deep into the god’s throat. Silver cracks dance around his skin, like thorns wrapping around the man, digging in and prying him open. He snarled, his voice taunting and his mouth curled up to a sinister grin, yet his eyes once full of life have nothing behind them; not boredom, not malice, nothing. “Didn’t you say that ruthlessness is mercy upon our-“

She leaps back to when the bag was opened, maybe it had something to do with that? No, Aeolus may be mischievous but even they wouldn’t dare to play around with forces beyond their control. All the goddess of wisdom could fathom was that Odysseus changed after he woke up when the bag was opened. Did he struck out and reach for him while he slumbered, weakened from 9 restless, sleepless days? Athena barely registers the ichor seeping from her fist.

“Protecting them is all you want to do.” Odysseus said in the next scene, tossing in herbs and leaves as Circe stares in bafflement behind him, dagger in hand yet she makes no move to attack. Maybe she couldn’t, not when there’s the abyss of the unknown seeping out of the man before her. She lets him turn his men back from pigs and leaves.

In the next, her champion is in a cave, his eyes so empty now have the smallest spark of sympathy and bittersweet sorrow, extending his hand to the beast before him, “Why not come along with me, fellow monster and perhaps comrade?”

Wait- that didn’t happen. That couldn’t have happened. She leaps back to when they were on Circe’s island, staring towards the ocean where the ships have departed, they all went back around the direction of where the cyclops reside, nowhere near the way to Scylla’s lair. So why did she see a scene that should not exist?

The tapestry shifts and Athena found herself leaping through memories of memories through her friend’s eyes. Some were similar, most were inconsistent, a few were things she wished she’d never seen yet none of these happen. None of these ever took place so why does it feel like it did?!

“I’m so glad we see eye to eye—“

“There are other ways of persuasion-“

“Die-“

“Where is my brother? Why do you wear his skin?”

“Odysseus king of Ithaca is the name, and do remember me as I engulf your island in flames-“

in the walls of Odysseus’s home, flower petals drifting around as her friend laid on the bed, exhaustion painting his face from the deep eyebags he had. His eyes were to her relief, not empty, yet the life in them was flickering, struggling not to be consumed by the pools of sorrow and resignation. Beside him was his wife Penelope, smiling gently through tears as she rests her husband on her lap but what shocked the goddess the most was seeing her father on the other side of the bed, his hand cradling the back of Odysseus’s head. Never had Athena seen such warmth, guilt, love, anger, sadness and more swirl around her father before, not even with Hera did Zeus display such a side so viscerally.

“I don’t want to sleep…” Odysseus begged, his cheeks dried from tears he could no longer shed. “If I close my eyes, I’ll have to say goodbye….”

“My heart, you must rest. Do not see it as a goodbye.” Penelope reassures, kissing his forehead. “Rather, view it as a good night. Perhaps we might not see another day with you, but let us spend it together now… One day you will be free, and Helios’s light will greet you.”

“I’ll make sure you will see the next morning sun.” Zeus promised, his eyes narrowing as his hair turns dark and clouds start to gather outside. His body simmers with righteous fury akin to a massive storm approaching in the horizon. “I think I know who is responsible for your endless plight.”

“It won’t matter, you’ll forget…” Odysseus choked out a defeated sob and Athena barely held herself back from rushing towards the memory. The thunder fades and Zeus can only give an apologetic smile, patting his head, “Perhaps, but eventually I will succeed in saving you. We will succeed in saving you. So until then, wait little king.”

“Wait my heart.” Penelope says as the two give their kiss to the man about to enter Hypnos’s realm. “Soon, you will see the next morning sun.”

“… I wish I could believe that…” Odysseus muttered, yet despite his lack of hope he gives a small smile as his body slumps and his eyes close, “Good night…”

Athena blinks away the tears, finally noticing her body trembling. So…. That was why Odysseus suddenly became a demigod with his powers slithering around him.

“Several years…” She exhaled, her voice threatening to break, “He’s kept you trapped in an endless role… Such torture would take a heavy toll…”

“And that’s quite enough, little girl…” A voice echos from behind, plunging the goddess’s heart straight to Hyperborea. She swallows, not daring to turn around because she knows exactly who it was. Who had made the sands of her hourglass stop, who had started to shatter her realm slowly like it was nothing but glass. The titan who had tormented Odysseus, slowly poisoning him to be his champion…

“Kronos…” The titan hummed upon hearing his name, even when he’s not there physically, the goddess can sense her realm being destroyed with each step he took. He stopped, and Athena doesn’t need to turn around to see his smile, “You are quite impressive little girl, but I’m afraid you cannot dig deeper anymore. Soon my champion will slumber, and you will forget, and the cycle will continue again and again…”

The sound of a tug snapped across the area like a whip and Athena’s eyes widened in horror as she finally realised what he was doing. “NO—“

“Goodbye.”

The tapestry unravels, flames licking and following the interwoven yarn. Athena rushes forward to save whatever she could, but her spear and weapons rust upon her touch. She can’t forget, she cannot afford to let her friend suffer even more! It’s all decaying too fast... She must not forget, she has to do something! Her friend needs her! Odysseus needs her! She refused to bow down to time’s whims!

She refuse, she refuse, she refuse she refuse she REFUSE—

She was so focused on her goal, it took her standing up after completing her project to finally took note of the piece of cloth falling from her lap. Curious and confused, she picks it up, examining the burnt edges, hasty weaving, warp threads and decaying yarn. Strange, this seems to be her handiwork but she doesn’t remember having it on her lap. However, when she turns around to get a better picture of what it was, she found herself frozen in place.

Her former champion, the one she had been avoiding dwelling on stood in the center of the tapestry, arms above his head as multiple chains wrap around his body, and shackles rest tightly on his wrists and ankles. His expression was empty, something that shouldn’t- didn’t belong to a man such as he. Behind him depicts a figure of no appearance with the exception of a clock on it’s face. With one hand, it held Odysseus’s wrists, almost possessively while the other holds a sickle, the tip of it pointing directly at where his heart is. And at the bottom were simply two words unevenly weaved yet they conveyed their message clearly;

SAVE HIM

DIES.

Ok but Odysseus as the god of Puppeteering & Mind of Shadows would completely flip the story on its head. I imagine that in order to topple the gods, he’d want to do it without arousing suspicion because what kind of puppeteer would he be if he was discovered right away? So he played it sneakily. When he catches Athena’s connection, he already has her snared in his trap, a connection made that he can pull back on when the time is right. I’m not sure if he’ll still be connected to Hermes or the lost deity’s powers had overwhelm and erased it but he and Hermes will eventually meet. He does love Penelope and hates how he can’t tell her who he really is otherwise someone might catch him and ruin everything but he does put protective blessings on her and his son who might have inherited his powers, he’s gonna seal that up real quick until the time is right.

As the Trojan war comes, Odysseus played it cool but secretly made connections to the gods that appear whenever they made themselves known like Ares, Aphrodite, Apollo and Artemis. The only exception was Zeus due to him being more powerful than the rest and while he did have to drop the baby, he did save him and leave him to his minions who I imagine are puppets he made. Every death during the odyssey, Odysseus secretly saves them and puts them in his pocket dimension because of his attachment to them. When Athena leaves, he’s saddened but disappointed; I feel like a part of him wanted to give the gods a chance but after Athena left, he no longer saw any good in them and what’s going to be a divine invasion would be considered justified. He thought Athena could change, but he supposed that he was wrong…

From there, it becomes much more easier to manipulate now that Athena isn’t watching him. He knew that by revealing his name, he’ll draw Poseidon’s attention where he can make a connection using their hatred towards each other as the basis so that it can click. He’s not someone who can see prophecies like Apollo, rather he knows what to do to make things play out how he wants. He does want to go home, but the deities were getting impatient so off to Scylla he goes where he lets her eat sirens instead. Mutiny happened and while it did hurt, he never blamed his crew because he understood them and finally… He encountered Zeus. Helios was actually his target but he’ll take the top god and other ways of persuasion him to form a connection using lust. He even learns some unexpected things from the king of gods which he files away for another time due to how they made his chest feel weird.

And with that, everything is in place and soon, he’ll no longer be Odysseus. It’s like the song ‘The main character’ but in a more tragic light; as much as Odysseus loved living as a mortal, he can’t be seen as human. He’s the vessel of the forgotten deities’ anger and it’s either he fails, gets taken/hurt by the Olympian gods never to see his family again, or finally put his plan into action. He thinks himself as a puppet ironically, after all he was created to bring ruin to the gods, much like how Pandora was made to give a punishing gift to humanity.

So, he pulls the strings, ignoring the squeeze in his heart as he turns away from Zeus and wonders if Penelope could forgive him for what he’s doing.

#1: auhhhh u put the Last Minute Titles I made 4 Ody’ to good use 🤩🙏 him analysing his situation so to not cause suspicion is very him, AWBGAS him establishing ‘connections’ to The Gods, probably to manipulate them by info access but also maybe these Connections r like invisible Magic Strings that Odysseus can use to weaken them when, as u put it, the time is right AKA Dimension Invasion Time omg ouggggg— either way, very kool <33.

I still think he’d have some DNA-related connections to Hermes, it mostly being there too give him a base 4 when he accesses his Godly Form :) (in my mind, Ody’ was sent into This World as a Little Shadow Blob, the first form he took was when he incarnated as Ithaca’s Newborn Prince :33)

Bad. Morally grey, absolutely if not as well a bit sympathetic, but never rlly. Bad. A few of them even learn to care 4 Ody’ as they observe him growing up <), still pushing their goal onto him n guiding him to fulfil his purpose, but they also make sure to treat him as a person. A young person that needs to be nurtured. (mostly 4 the plan to work out smoothly but there’s some care 4 their infiltrators wellbeing,,,)

Despite all of this, Ody’ is still not having a great time dealing w/ everything,,,, obviously. It’s a pretty morbid way to live.

Your reincarnated elderich horror Odysseus gave me a spark of an idea based on that au, but it’s kinda silly so I apologise in advanced for this.

Long ago before Hera, Zeus had a lover, a minor but powerful god of potential that challenged Zeus and was constantly at odds with him. However, that rivalry later turned them into lovers, with the small god being the few who can openly criticise Zeus and get away with it, though sometimes they suffered from a few… steamy punishments courtesy of Zeus.

However, that all changed when one day, a remnant of the Titans’ army killed them and cursed the god to reincarnate, always being able to reach their fullest potential but at the cost of tremendous suffering. And if they were to remember their past through talks about them or falling in love with Zeus, they would die painfully after a day. Zeus tried and tried to save his lover but no matter what, he’s forced to watch them suffer over and over until he’s unable to take anymore of the pain and gave up, making sure no one mentions their lover again before he eventually married Hera. Only the eldest of the pantheon knows of the god of potential’s existence and connection to Zeus.

Later on, during the Trojan war, as Zeus ordered Odysseus to kill the baby, he realised that this was his lover reincarnated. Even after trying to give up on his lover, he can’t bear the thought of making him suffer by him, the few times he did to other reincarnations are sins he can never forgive himself for. So, he lets Odysseus keep the baby after Ody found a loophole in the prophecy, and a minor part of Zeus’s heart squeezed painfully upon seeing that he still has their wit.

And Zeus, he can’t look away. He knows what will happen, he knows that Odysseus is going to suffer but despite Zeus wanting to pull away once more, the guilt that had built up over the years made him stay and watch.

You ever think that Hermes is the first to realise what’s going on? As the messenger of the gods and Odysseus’s great grandfather, he’s bound to encounter Odysseus, mostly on Circe’s island or sometimes through Aeolus coming over and telling him that he needs to get everyone now there’s a mortal with K- HIS powers! Every loop where Odysseus shows even a slimmer of his demigod power, Hermes grows concerned. Every loop where Hermes sees the titan of time and harvest’s powers he tries to get Odysseus to realise the danger, to try to figure out what happened but without knowing, he’s asking them too late as Odysseus is too far in the time loops to properly care. Every time Hermes tries to inform the gods, to stop a great threat, to save Athena’s friend and his great grandson. He flies, he runs, he goes as fast as he can…

But time was never on his side.

And Hermes wakes up to a new loop, ever so merry and cheeky as he makes the rounds, unaware of the origins of the brief pangs of guilt and panic in his heart. Maybe he should check on his great grandson to ease the worry, it’s been a while since he last saw him after all!

Idea #1: in The Modern Day, a Merfolk! Poseidon, suffering through one of his Heats, and having ventured On Land looking for a preferable Human Partner to seduce and relieve himself with, ends up hooking up with a unsuspecting Odysseus, who turns out to be a surprisingly skilled and thrilling Lover to Engage with, both Sexually and in general. The encounter is so satisfying that Poseidon decides to spare Ody’ the last bit of The Tradition on How Single Merfolk deal with Heats, the cover up of their Encounter, in which is to eat the Human Partner once done with their Cycle :).

Poseidon was careful enough and had enough control over himself to not give away anything about what he is, so it’ll be fine to just walk away this once, right?. And it probably would’ve been, if he hadn’t accidentally Knotted inside during a very passionate round.

Almost a month later, Poseidon is forced to begrudgingly acknowledge that it was the Human’s sharp mind that drew him in, after the riled up bastard somehow tracked him down and ambush tackled him during a Brotherly Rockpool Hangout, screeching bloody murder about how he got him pregnant.

Many an embarrassing scoldings were had from Hestia, (“I thought you had better control over your spend than this!!!”) while his now Partner Responsibility glared at him sourly, looking like an angry feral cat with his swollen belly :),,,

Idea #2: during a seaside trip, while exploring a patch of muck-covered beach, a kid Ody’ and Ctimene find a washed up bottle containing some strange Murky Blue Liquid, which turns out to actually be the trapped Soul Parts of the Ancient Spirit of Posęadon, Corrupted alongside Hïs fellow Gods by The Boiling Rage of Humanity from The Ancient World, now on the very tip of Rising once more, ready to set off Humanity’s Destruction and Awaken Hïs Siblings, but first, all Hě needs to do is deceive Whoever comes across Hïs Prison and get Them to open The Bottle,,,,

Or Hě would have by now- but it seems The Fates are still around to cause inconvenience, because Hě keeps getting interrupted by either the Little Shits inabilities to just listen for one moment, instead looping around the subject in favour of chattering about their lives or asking him stupid questions like:

Sometimes, when the unwillingly nicknamed ‘Stewseidon’ observes them, Hě truly wonders if they might be descended from The Gods pre-corruption or at least certain Greek Royal Bloodlines, especially when looking at the youngest boy’s (who found him) face,,, something Familiar about it,,,,

Idea #3: inspo from The Little Mermaid, Merprince Poseidon ends up falling in love with a Travelling Scammer Family’s son, Odysseus, while they were making a stop at the Seaside Village, and plans to introduce himself disguised as a Human. Unfortunately, due to a track record of dating so horrendous that Poseidon has had to be set up in a Arranged Marriage for any hope’s of producing suitable Royal Heirs, his siblings, specially his brothers, don’t believe that he can possibly pull this guy. And from what they’ve managed to pry from the middle brother, his little crush is Human, which downright convinces them that Poseidon is joking with them or just straight up lying for attention.

Extremely pissed from the lack of faith, endless taunting from Zeus and accusations of damn falsehood, Poseidon makes it his mission to woo Odysseus and then bring him to meet his siblings to show them that he can hold a fucking relationship!!!.

But unfortunately, once having met the Merchant Son for the first time, it seems it’s going to be a lot harder to carry out said mission with how much of a stubborn, snarky, shithead of a person Odysseus turns out to be,,,,

A lost dream, a lost song

“Countless time loops…” A lone voice sang, tired, grief-stricken yet reluctantly accepting the pain and plight. Darkness blanketed the skies, with the constellations as the only audience.

“Countless time loops I have played and tried… All just for one goal in mind…”

There’s no one else here…

“No one at my side, with each reset everything rewinds. With the exception of my mind…”

“How long can I stay, spinning in this wheel of infinity… I can’t do this anymore-“

“So you will give up now? That would be pathetic, mortal.” There’s someone here.

“Poseidon?” Odysseus blinked, glistening eyes staring at the god of the seas as he rises towards him, the wave gently crashing against the cliff.

“I have grown tired of your bemoaning and laments Odysseus. Selene’s chariot has gone past halfway through the sky.” Poseidon said, crossing his arms. Odysseus, too scarred to be threatened, rolls his eyes. “Oh hush, you don’t know what I’ve gone through. What are you even doing here?”

“Do I need to repeat myself? Your bemoaning and laments have become truly irritating.” Poseidon scoffs, crossing his arms, careful not to aggravate his bandaged injuries.

“So you stuck around after our deal is done huh? Figured you be too salty to leave.” Odysseus shrugs with an amused smile, making the god glare at him in offence, “Excuse me?!”

“Just… Look, I don’t want to do this… We made a deal right? I beat you, you take my ships back home, and we already fulfilled each side of the bargain.” Odysseus then said, closing his eyes as he lets his tears fall, his smile strained and weak. His body slumped over, exhaustion wearing down his bones. “There’s no need for you to be here.”

“Hmph, the deal did not include me leaving you alone.” Poseidon pointed out, making the king sigh in defeat. “Yeah, you’re right on that. Just let me sing a little longer and no interrogating me about it… please.”

Poseidon held back a taunt and gloat, his eyes narrowed as he shifts to a more human appearance, sitting beside the mortal king on the ledge. Something in his heart aches from Odysseus’s pain, whatever it was, though Poseidon cannot tell why that is. He doesn’t know why he chose to stay after the deal where the mortal through some miracle had stomped on his pride, nor does he know why he felt the urge to comfort the man. Still, with a reluctant hand on the other’s back, Poseidon listens to Odysseus’s hymm.

“My heart grew big with love, a love that never could come back to me, ohh… Ohh~”

“Would they love me again? I highly doubt that, they might not even care… Not anymore, not like before…”

“I thought I would love one alone… But now more ensnared my… Heart… That’s so cruel, taking what I can’t get… Back……”

“..osei… Ze…. I lo……. Lik… I… ‘ove… m’wife…… I don………”

Poseidon didn’t know why he woke up with tears slowly cascading down his cheeks, nor why the last though he had before awakening from Hypnos’ realm was that wretched mortal. The god of earthquakes and seas huffs as he resumes his task on finding the coward. He may not remember what the dream was but it matters not, the mortal’s luck will run out soon and he will find glee in making him suffer and beg.

… He hastily dismisses the guilt and pain that clawed at his heart from such thoughts, he didn’t know why he felt such a thing but it didn’t matter. Why should he care? That mortal deserved no sympathy from him.

Hi, it’s me again. I made another Drabble as you can see but I’m kinda wondering if it’s alright for me to make a story from your au? It will take some time though, I don’t know how long but I won’t do it without your permission. Aside from that, here’s the Drabble, I hope you have a good day/night, take care ^^:

The cry of grief

Zeus circles around the shoreline below him, thunder clapping with each flap of his wings. He eyes down his target, a lone mortal watching as his ship sail away. Did they leave him to die? So much for a loyal crew, but they have good preservation.

The king of the gods can’t help but wonder on how to punish the fallen king. He could kill his crew right in front of him, but that seemed too easy and too light of a punishment for the mortal who slew one of Helios’ cattle. Truthfully, the god of the Sun would be the one giving out the punishment but according to him, something felt… Wrong. Dangerous even.

It was ultimately curiosity that drew Zeus in, wishing to see what about the pathetic man struck fear into Helios but even miles above in the sky, he could feel it. A simmering power, threatening to boil over and combust. Something unnatural that twists and snaps the law of the lands that paint the world, too weak to identify yet terrifyingly powerful enough to sense.

He has to look into this.

With a swoop downwards that no bird would survive doing, Zeus’s body becomes engulfed in lightning and struck down right in front of the king of Ithaca, inches away. His smile was wide, his presence dominating yet his eyes hide his true thoughts, veiled to assess the situation until the time comes to strike.

“Pride is a damsel in distress.” He started, watching as the king’s head hung low, body trembling. Though it is not of fear or shame he had noted in his mind before continuing. “Hiding away where only I can undress her. Try as she can not to confess-“

*SLAP*

Zeus blinked, his mind slow to register the blooming pain on his cheek. Did that mortal just-

He looked down and finally met the king’s eyes, full of anger, guilt and sorrow as though he had been deceived by someone he held most dear. Heavy tears rolled down his face, blending with the rainfall as the mortal hissed, ready to strike once again, “Shut up..! JUST SHUT UP YOU LIAR!!”

“Liar?!” Zeus repeated in offense, his hair raised through his fury at the accusation. “Have you gone mad since your encounter with Poseidon?!”

“Of course you won’t know… Of course..” The mortal muttered, a few broken laughs of disbelief slip away from his mouth. “What did I expect? Not even you could stop this! Why did I believe you?!”

Zeus held back a retort, his body crackling with electricity in a vain attempt to expel his anger. He would almost call this situation pitiful, a king driven mad during the tragedies to return home, believing something the god of the skies had never claimed. However, there was clearly something the mad mortal knew that he didn’t, things don’t add up and Zeus would not be satisfied with letting that be. Plus, if someone was perhaps impersonating king of Olympus himself, oh that won’t do.

“Tell me, Odysseus… What was it that ‘I’ had claimed?” Zeus questioned, taking a step closer. He caught the man’s wrist with ease when he tried to slap him again, staring down at the crying mortal before him.

“What does it matter? You would not remember this…” Odysseus hissed, his pupils glistening with silver, the power inside him threatening to erupt. “Just like before, and even now… Eventually you’ll forget all of this.. you and everyone else won’t remember what will happen. Only I- I’m the only one who— damnit! Why did I call you a liar, when you aren’t even to blame?”

He sobbed, silver streaks split open around his face like the cracks found in old statues on the ends of their use. Those cracks travel around where his tears went down, extending downwards to his neck and free arm. The sand shifts in the violent winds, flowers wilt and grass grows simultaneously at different speeds. To Zeus’ horror, he finally recognised who this power really belonged to. “How did you-“

He summons a bolt of lightning to strike, but it fizzled away before it could even harm him. Odysseus jerks away, too lost in his grief to notice the danger that had latched onto him.

“Curse me, curse my heart that still loves.” Odysseus choked out, broken and defeated as he raised his sword to his heart. Zeus wants to reach out, to stop whatever he’s doing and cease his plans but his body would not respond, left unmovable even with the king of god’s best efforts. Odysseus locks eyes with him again, and it finally hit Zeus that there never was any pride to undress and find. Laid bare before him was pure grief; chaotic, erratic and mournful, calling for someone who is no longer there.

“I’m sorry… I don’t know what I’m even doing.. Perhaps I am going mad, but it certainly wasn’t because of Poseidon.” Odysseus laughed, his smile wobbly as the tip of the blade starts to cut through his clothes. His voice cracks with anguish, only scraping the surface of the true depths to his plight, “I can’t do this anymore Zeus… I’m so tired… I’m sorry, you’re not a liar… I just- I missed the Zeus that I loved. And, he can’t come back…”

“What?…” Zeus could only stare, puzzled and confused as Odysseus gave him a look, one full of unrequited love and lamentation that had struggled to crawl out from the chaotic storm of his emotions. “Goodnight Zeus… And goodbye.”

The last thing Zeus heard was the sound of a clock coming to a halt, the world becoming silent as the grieving king plunged his sword through his heart.

The next time the king of the gods woke up, he continued on his day as though nothing was different. His confrontation with Odysseus, his promise to free him from his cage, all lost to the hands of time with only the king left to mourn the memories of what no longer had occured.

I can see the other deities just comforting Ody and telling him they can work things out and not end the universe on accident. Meanwhile in the pocket dimension after the remaining crew arrived to keep them safe from whatever retaliation or fight may happen, Eurylochus is very VERY confused seeing a bunch of men he long saw dead and Polites with the baby in a strange world where they’re tended to by puppets until one of them shows an orb displaying what’s happening outside and- IS THAT THEIR CAPTAIN WHY DOES HE LOOK NOTHING LIKE A MORTAL!?!?! Bonus thought for lost deity of puppeteering and mind of shadows Odysseus: He also has to choose to let him and the other deities have the right to exist again or fail and lose their chance. He knows that none of them want to die but who knows what will happen with their interference? It may be unjust to the Olympian gods but to them, it’s an act of survival. And seeing the Gods’ behaviour just only add on to the reason, much to Odysseus’s disappointment.

Ah, hi, it’s me the anon who wants to write your time loop Ody. You can call me Voli to make things easier. Sorry, I’ve been trying to work out the ins and outs of the story and have been busy with other things too. I hope you’re doing well. I will be posting it on Ao3 if that’s alright and while I’m here I would like to ask a few questions since you are the creator of this au.

Without spoiling things, I have already outlined a plot line for the story and are currently arranging characters, seeing who fits and who needs to sit it out. Tiresias, Artemis, Dionysus, Hephaestus, Hestia and Demeter are the ones still out on debate. What I’m wondering is if there’s any character you feel is important to include to the story or should be better off just mentioned or briefly touched on out of the six? Apollo didn’t fall into this because of his gift of prophecy and he and Aphrodite have cut it very close. Aphrodite is there too due to her connection to Ouranos, though she’s unfortunately not gonna have a big role. That whole thing is still being workshopped so I might update on that later.

Another question is one I’ve honestly been struggling with and that’s concerning Rhea. Since she’s still around on Olympus, she does stand a chance against Kronos even when he’s not really there so if it’s alright, how should I tackle this so that the story doesn’t get cut short without discrediting her? I feel like Kronos will find a loophole around her but I’m not sure how so if you or anyone have any suggestions please let me know.

Okay, first, I’m gonna get this out the way by saying I am not confident (atleast, in my opinion) in my ability to do & / or help ‘plan out’(???) / structure fic related things, like for example character placement, plot points / lining (if that’s the word :/), keeping said characters as in character as they should be, etc :’)

-Demeter is. There. Unfortunately, I can’t rlly see anyway 4 her to be,,,, important, which is a shame in my head :(. Ig u could involve her when maybe suspicions of Kronos’s presence is confirmed n like- the Six Siblings maybe get together to discuss n worry ‘bout it, but apart from that, I unfortunately don’t have rlly much to give about her placement 🥲 (hey ho, acknowledgment is good enough 4 me <333 and maybe badass Demeter/joking).

-hmmm, right off the bat, my first thoughts were that Dionysus also felt unimportant. Which also sucks. idk I just can’t rlly see a way that would fit him in w/ the main,,, THING of the story smoothly, I mean, u got his whole reincarnation aspect + his connection w/ Humanity thru him once being Mortal, so maybe that’s something that could be brought up w/ Odysseus, seeing as reincarnation + Timeloop = kinda similar, but more on that Dionysus could have major sympathy 4 Ody’s’ insane suffering, understanding that a mere Human can’t be put through this sort of thing without lasting consequences bc of his own understanding of Humanity :D.

uhhhhhhh— idk, I think he would work better as a minor character u see Odysseus interact w/ during Loop Moments or maybe as a supporting character helping in the back during some big moments lol I’m not sure, there is probably something that could be done with him either way, who knows :) (Demeter could also work as these 2 things as well <D).

-now Hestia. I can see something. It’s only a lil’ bit more than the previous but I can see. Something. Idk like I said, I’m useless at this most of the time lmaooooo- but not much :’). Maybe comfort related things or maybe a notable place during some big moment idk I’m not sure 😭😭.

-Artemis n Hephaestus r tied w/ each other bc they could both very much have spotlight moments but at the same time, could both easily fade into the background most of the time. I have a clearer image of Artemis’s moment, obviously something 2 do w/ Apollo (bc her bro def has some idea of what’s going on, causing maybe a interaction like: “hey Apollo wtf is going on???????”), Hephaestus is unfortunately blurry, but there is an idea mostly just him being grumpy w/ this bullshit hajdhs <D.

-Tiresias in my mind, is quite important, despite Apollo already being there bc I like to think he’s one of the first to notice the Timeloops thanks 2 Prophecy Powers. But he’s also important in my head bc I have this stupid idea of, during one of the Loops, Ody’ kidnapping him from The Underworld & abandoning ship 2 run off & talk w/ them bc they know what’s going on with him + at that point Ody’ needed someone to properly vent to & also. Comedy :) that was such a shitty explanation why.

and as 4 the second question,,,,,

What a fun yet frustrating thing u are to try and tackle.

In my mind for the fifth time this post everytime Ody’ resets, the thing she resets to is sitting in one of the gardens, staring at a massive fractured, rusted & black stained mirror, one of the very few things from Kronos’s rule that stubbornly remains. It looks cursed, & in Rhea’s opinion, yes. Yes it is fucked up on some level. And he can talk to her through it,,,,,

I think Rhea somehow knows that the Timeloops r happening but doesn’t actually remember any of them. All she knows is that Her Husband is up to no good &,,,, she doesn’t rlly want to deal w/ it. She can’t persuade him to stop, she can’t even physically stop him. He’s a ghost, floating invisibly through the air, watching their shattered reality & his champion grow, yet by some cruel joke, only Rhea can constantly see his glitching & writhing form, like oil mixed w/ electricity blobbing around, appearing on that unnerving mirror, grumbling about Olympus & their children’s terrible rule & bla bla bla bla—

Yeah, so her decision to not help is very, very selfish. Uncharacteristic. But she’s so tired. She just can’t bring herself to care about whatever nonsense Kronos is causing.

(On the other side, Kronos likes talking to her, it’s. Nice :). Even if she won’t listen to what he’s trying to get at. It’s annoying, but, at least they can converse. Lol, these two r so fucked in situation yet so funny to think about idk <333)
