so, i don't really have a lot of them, but here are a few

Dream is like a plant in the sense that he can do photosynthesis shit. so sometimes after a battle or just a long day in general he'll disappear to lay in the fields to heal. also, because of the plant-like nature: green blood or just straight-up sap.

Classic, after spending enough time with Toriel, turned out to be a pretty good baker, with even Muffet complimenting him greatly. It scares him.

I’ve always liked to think he has like. Golden blood. So sap would make sense.

And!! I like the idea of Sans baking too. Cause there’s the whole thing in Undertale where I think papyrus mentions him baking?? It’s somewhere I think so. I do like that too

I’m bad at actually remembering my headcanons and also I don’t have many coherent ones but I’ve always like the idea of Dust taking walks during the rain. Especially if it’s like thundering or something in the distance y’know. Idk I just think he would. Cause I like the think he likes the sound of rain, since when everyone in the underground was killed I’m sure it got very quiet. Like the bad kind of quiet. And rain’s all noisy y’know

Also I just literally came up with this one just this second I’m not even sure where it came from cause I don’t think about him often at all but I like to think Ink doodles on his scarf. Cause like doesn’t he write stuff down on it to remember? And I doubt there aren’t like. Some doodles on it

Also I’ve mentioned this so many times before I feel but to me Cross is a guitar guy. I don’t. Have much else to say about that but he plays guitar he just does to me. Or at least has some interest or want to.

The Overworld Theme

(And the Men from Another World)

Well! Well well well well welly well well....

I know most people are sick of theories based solely on the OST. So I decided to annoy y'all with another one, anyway.

I've been playing these games for over 2 years and I'm still discovering new things about the OST's. I may even be the last UT fan to notice these, but here goes.

So, Waterfall, Another Medium, and The Core all have the same intro. Some time ago, I finally noticed this intro does appear in Ruins, just not as the intro- it's actually near the very end (starts at 1:20- listen to the bells in the background).

But it wasn't until this comment on YouTube:

...that I went back and checked Ruins against Another Medium and The Core. Listen to Ruins again, starting at 1:02. Compare it to Another Medium, from 0:07-0:51.

And to The Core.

The ending of Ruins gets remixed in all of them. Or Another Medium got remixed into the Ruins. Anyway, it's there. It's a little hard to tell if you're not looking for it- or it was for me, anyway- but it's there.

Now, we all know that every one of Undyne's themes on a Neutral Route is a remix of Ruins (Waterfall, Quiet Water, NGAHHH!!, Spear of Justice), BUT... even Battle Against a True Hero has a bit of Ruins. Listen to the bells in the background at 0:38- it's the beginning of the middle BAATH (1:36).

Now, then...

It makes sense to me that Undyne's themes all get remixes of Ruins, since I now know that Ruins is pretty much the Overworld theme. Undyne is the hero of the Underground.

So then, why does Mettaton have so many themes that are remixed from the Overworld theme?

Death By Glamour is, of course, just a remix of The Core. So that's one very obvious place where Mettaton reuses the Overworld theme for himself. BUT:

Starting at 0:26, we can hear the intro to Spear of Justice. This also gets remixed, much more softly, in "It's Showtime" and "Live Report."

For the longest time, I thought Alphys had just included a bit of Undyne's theme into Mettaton's coding. But now I realize the whole thing isn't specifically Undyne's theme but rather an Overworld theme. So as it turns out, then, Mettaton is just incorporating the Overworld theme into his own themes, just as Undyne does.

This makes sense when you think about it. Undyne is the Hero of the Underground. Everyone knows her. Why shouldn't she be allowed to use the Overworld theme? Mettaton is the Star of the Underground. Everyone knows him. Why shouldn't he be allowed to use the Overworld theme?

This, then, brings up one more question:

Why doesn't sans use the Overworld theme? We see him literally everywhere in the Underground from Snowdin to the MTT Resort. sans speaks with Toriel, so he has a connection to the Ruins. We don't see sans in The Core or New Home, but we do see him in the Judgment Hall in Asgore's castle. sans is EVERYWHERE, even more so than Undyne and Mettaton. Why doesn't he use the Overworld theme?

It could just be his style, his preference- he simply prefers that little jazzy theme of his. But... Papyrus doesn't use the Overworld theme, either. And he's almost as "everywhere" as sans is, through our phone calls, through chatting with Alphys via the Undernet, through knowing Undyne. Not to mention the fact that Papyrus is arguably the most important character in any run, since so many Neutral endings hinge on whether you killed Papyrus or not. (And then, of course, there's Papyrus' notable absence from Deltarune, but we're not talking about Deltarune today.)

"sans" appears anywhere that sans appears, whether it's Grillby's or one of sans' sentry stations or the MTT Resort (albeit remixed into "It's Raining Somewhere Else"). "sans" also permeates sans' entire house, EXCEPT for Papyrus' room, where no music plays at all.

But neither of the brothers uses the Overworld theme. In addition, "sans" doesn't appear outside of sans themes, except for "Bring it In, Guys". Same goes for "Bonetrousle"- "Bring It In, Guys" and STMPWYFS are the only non-Papyrus songs in which "Bonetrousle" appears (and, like, it's pretty obvious why we hear the trousle of bones in a song that might play you fight sans, amirite?).

The skelebros show up more often in the Underground than any other character. And yet they have no musical ties to the Underground whatsoever.

Could that be because they're not from the Underground at all?

my top ten undertale songs of all time

(my opinions are very unpopular. also, spoilers for undertale below!)

the top ten undertale songs of all time are as follows (my opinions are extremely unpopular, and one is the best):

10) ghost fight (it's just so groovy and fun! i like it better than dummy because the simplicity of this one just makes it more groovy and fun.)

9) undertale (just because this song is seven minutes doesn't mean it's number one. i still really love it though! the orchestrations are gorgeous.)

8) respite (oh my gosh, it's such a sweeping melody, it brings me to tears whenever i hear it, especially when i remember when this song plays. this part of the ranking up is when you can really start to hear toby fox's talent for putting feelings into music and giving each song the exact message and vibe that it's supposed to give. in this case, that vibe is that feeling of knowing that the world is so much bigger than it used to be, and there's so much potential, but it also makes you feel so small. things are never going to be they way they were before, and you're forever changed.)

7) bonetrousle (this song is the perfect mix of goofy and sophisticated, which makes it the perfect papyrus song! the orchestrations are amazing, and the melody is very unique! i've never heard anything like it, and it just flows. this song gives me the image of somebody with a lot of bravado who internally believes they're this grandiose, dangerous, person, but really, isn't seen as an explicit threat by those around them.)

6) it's raining somewhere else (man this song is just so good. the little background noise toby added for ambiance just adds to the piece even more. the melody is so bittersweet while also being smooth and almost jazzy. it reminds me of somebody who hears bad news, and suddenly, time has gotten slower, and everything's still except for them. they feel lost and cold, but slowly, whether it's from somebody else or it's from within, comfort emerges, and warmth starts to seep into their body again.)

5) waterfall (i just love the mystery to this song, the way it's calm and relaxing, but there's a strange sort of darkness to it that only reveals itself in the smallest and most inconspicuous ways, as if it doesn't want to be detected. it gives the air that waterfall is an enchanted place, but it's not harmless. the energy is just so cool, and it's another amazing melody.)

4) asgore (i just love this song. it's super epic, and the harmonies are just so good, it's such a musical piece. it doesn't tell as much of a story as some of the other pieces, but it just had to be high up on this list because of the sheer emotion in the music. it almost feels like a declaration, a decision that can't be reversed, so you might as well go all in.)

3) battle against a true hero (man this song...it's so amazing. it's definitely the most advanced boss song musically, i think. there's so many melodies, so much of a journey from the beginning to the end. i think how long the song is represents undyne's desire to keep pushing past her limits. the song almost feels longer than it naturally should be, because undyne is pushing herself past her natural limits. it's another song that is so representative of what is happening while it plays.)

2) heartache (this song is the BEST boss song, and i cannot be convinced of otherwise. sure, other ones are more "epic", but heartache opens up toriel's mind and heart, it shows the listener how she's feeling so acutely: desperation, fear, pain, loneliness, dread, and love. hesitation creeps in, and the entire song is toriel battling with herself, even though she knows that no matter what she picks, she loses the game that she created for herself.)

1) core (okay i'm gonna feel like a goof because all these other explanations are so meaningful and deep...i just like this song because it's a bop. objectively, it is just such a good song, it has me dancing in my seat every time i hear it. and it has an intensity to it. i think since the core is the last real location before new home, it builds up to something very climactic as the player realizes how close they are to the end. it's really spectacular!)

It's been about a year and a half since the Barrier shattered. With Alphys's help, Asriel is able to retain a soul, Chara has his own body, and Gaster has been successfully pieced back together from across space and time. Frisk lives with Toriel and Asgore. Today, they, Chara, and Asriel are having a sleepover at the skeleton brothers' house.

Papyrus is in the kitchen, making fettuccine, when he realizes that it's suspiciously quiet.

"Where's Frisk?" He asks Sans, who's sitting on the couch.

"i'm pretty sure they're at grillby's."

"What're they doing at Grillby's?"

"beats me," Sans says as he stands up. "i'll go get 'em."

"Thank you, Sans."

"no prob, bob."

Sans shortcuts to Grillby's and finds me sitting in one of the booths. It's quiet today. Not a lot of people are here.

"heya, bud," he says as he sits across from me.

"Hi, Sans," I respond. "What brings you here?"

"i could ask you the same thing. why are you here all alone?"

"I needed some time alone in a place that has calming music."

"last i checked, grillby's has the same music as my house."

I shake my head and say, "Not today. Today, it's raining somewhere else."

Sans realizes what I mean and chuckles.

"i've something to tell ya. 'member back at mtt resort, i led you through a shortcut and talked to you about stuff?"

"Yeah, I remember that."

"there was somethin' i was gonna tell you, but i forgot what it was. i remembered what it was just now when you said it's raining somewhere else. you have something that only one other person on the face of this world has."

Undertale - despite everything it's still you.

Soooo, I finally got the chance to play this game after a long time. I've been wanting to play this game for a very long time, but I've always postponed it. And now I regret postponing it because it's a great game, it made me wish I'd played it earlier.

I care more about the story than the graphics in the games I play.

While playing the game, I was drawn into the story of the game, and when I finished the game, I felt like saying goodbye to people (?) I've known for a long time.

Basically, humans drove the monsters to underground which has become the home to the monsters, and a human child falls into the this underground and story begins.

According to your choices, the game has multiple endings. If you have never played the game, I recommend that you play it without any spoilers for better experience.

If you haven't played the game and you care about deep and meaningful stories in the game, I definitely recommend you to play the game.

The characters are very well written, plus soundtracks are amazing...

NOW IT'S TIME FOR A REVIEW WITH SPOILER, if you didn't play this game before please don't read.

First of all, I didn't play genocide run, I spare all of the monsters... because I really liked all the characters and I didn't want to attack them. ╯︵╰

But I might have killed Toriel first because I was trying to get used to the game and to see if I could reach different endings at the very beginning of the game. But then I searched without spoilers and found out that the game did not end at the beginning of the game like other games I've played. Then I restarted the game. I was a little scared with Flowey's breaking the fourth wall.

These little chit chats with Sans really warmed my heart. Especially, the cutscene where we had dinner with Sans. The soundtrack, the ambience, the dialogues, everything was amazing. It was like taking a break from all the panic and no disco.

Since I am one of those who gets caught up in the atmosphere of the game, this scene made me feel very comfortable. (≧◡≦)

And ''... you'd be dead where you stand'' part somehow was not scary to me... I don't know why. But I did a little laugh that between awkward and scared.

Either because of the music or the character, Mettaton's fight was my favorite, this fight was the one I had the most fun with. Other than that, Asgore's, Muffet's and Undyne's fights were so hard for me...

I really liked all the characters, but my favorites are Papyrus, Mettaton, Sans and Toriel.

I'm not gonna talk about Neutral or True Pacifist endings.

I didn't do but watched the run video of the Genocide ending, it was really scary. So in this run the game doesn't become scary for us, what we become is scary. Asgore can't even recognize you as human anymore in the Genocide ending... now that was terrible. In this route who was real monsters really?

''My brother would really like to see a human. So it would really help me out... if you kept pretending to be one.''

That. That broke my heart.

In short, the game made me laugh, upset, excited and sometimes scared. Now I'm thinking about playing Deltarune too. I'm sure Deltarune is good as Undertale. I wish I had played the game without postponing and experience this feeling way sooner. But better late then never, right?

Oh I just realized during undertale the theme “it’s raining somewhere else” is playing when you have dinner with sans and in your scene where sans is talking with toriel it’s raining.....I don’t know if that was intentional but if it was then that was a super cool detail!!

okay most times I get the undertale ships being gross but why Soriel? They're both adults aren't they?

They are, and I think so too. I truly don't know why people dislike Sans x Toriel, though I have a couple of guesses. I know there's a section of the fandom that passionately head-canons Toriel as a lesbian, which is totally valid, but I just tend to interpret her as being attracted to men myself, if only because of her past with Asgore and her present with Sans. There are others who prefer these two as friends, and that's also totally fine. I'm sure there are some Asgoriel shippers as well, who don't like Soriel because it's in conflict with their ship. That's to be expected, there's usually a rival ship out there who won't like your ship for that clear cut reason. I have nothing against Asgoriel, I think they were cute together....it's just abundantly clear that Toriel has moved on from Asgore and I don't see her getting back with him ever, even if she forgives him one day.

The final reason I've seen is based on a theoretical age gap. Like you said, they're probably both adults. But I've also seen people who head-canon Toriel as adopting Sans. I'll admit, his age is technically indeterminate. You could make the case that he's closer to being a child. (Which is why I don't really think Fr*ns is as problematic as people say, even if it's an absolute NOTP for me.) Sure, you could say that you interpret Sans as a child. That's fine. But I simply don't. I think interpreting him as an adult is just as valid. Seriously, there are clues in the game that he basically raised Papyrus. I like to imagine Sans and Toriel bonding over parenting experiences as well as their shared sense of humor. I really don't think this ship is a problematic one at all, even if it's unpopular - and hey, it wasn't always. When Undertale first came out, this ship was all the rage. I'm totally fine with them simply becoming besties, but I can't listen to "It's Raining Somewhere Else" and not read a romantic subtext.
