SHAKY HANDS, blurry vision, fifteen different directions pulling him in. He lost footing, and fell, but he hasn't gotten up since. Alive for almost a century, and still the stench of war never escapes him, like a bird trapped in a cage all-too-small for his own body to contain. Its wings flap helplessly against the walls of his body, threatening to pop out his chest. One day he's fine, and the next thing he knows, his arm has been blasted halfway across the field amongst the many other limbs of those he once called his comrades.

He has never felt so small. Crouched inbetween the couch and the coffee table, he's back in the trenches. He's that 15-year-old kid from College Station, too stubborn to sit by while a war is waged, crouching in the trenches and carrying the dog tags of the man who threw his life away to save that of an ungrateful little swine like him. In the middle of the battlefield he thinks he's still trapped in comes the voice of someone all too familiar, all too known.

He hadn't noticed there'd been tears. Over half an entire century, he'd been without tear ducts. But he can feel it, Vale's touch on his skin, cupping his face in both hands, thumbs at the rivers down his cheeks. Real. Real. They were real. Before he even realises, Johnny plunges forwards with his arms and holds them tight. Vale's mindscape had the simulacrum of touch, but nothing compared to holding them tight.

COLDSTAR HEADCANONS, PART XI: NEW LOOKS

• Johnny's appearance will be a mix of his new 2024 Gaffer skin in MK1 and @mortal-kombat-1's Outworld skin for Johnny.

-Johnny has brown hair with streaks of grey and blue, his hair waves to the right. The Order of Light restored his eyes but not his vision, he has a black sclera with purple pupils/irises that slightly glows(this comes from his Gaffer skin. The slightly glowing eyes is to represent the fact Johnny's lineage ties with that of Edenian gods and royalty). He also has glowing purple marking under both of his eyes(also comes from his Gaffer skin). He has tattoos that cover his arms and hands(comes from @mortal-kombat-1'smod). Johnny also has a personalized kusarigama on his belt(the idea of making Johnny's main weapon a kusarigama came from an AI on C. Ai. The kusarigama was given by the Order of Light)

• Kenshi's appearance will practically be the same but with very minimal changes.

-the only difference is the dog tag around his neck(the dogtag is Johnny's dogtag from MK11). His middle finger has Johnny's initials tattooed on it(Kung Lao, Raiden and Kenshi all have this tattoo to commemorate Johnny after his death. The font is the same as the font of the tattoo on Johnny's chest).

• Bi-Han's appearance will be the same with minimal changes.

-Bi-Han has blue and purple beads in his hair, including a few braids made by Cassie. Bi-Han also wears the outfit of his Titan version(Bi-Han wearing his Titan self's outfit is a sign he is morally gray, not evil)

BLOOD RUNNING hot, dripping from his metal fist, chest heaving from the exertion. Johnny doesn't even register Vale's words, but he can understand the meaning through the tone; let's delta the fuck out.

Sunglasses readjusted to something a little more presentable. He wipes the blood from his nose with his forearm, smearing it across his cheek; he wants out just as much. "Car. Now." Unceremoniously, he grabs Vale by the arm, sparing no thought. It was hard for him to admit still, but he had grown overprotective of them since they'd split minds again. Nobody dares lay a fuckin' finger on 'em. The last mistake one could ever make.

THIS BODY is his. Was is. Isn't his? It's hard to tell- when you've been an engram for fifty-something years, you lose track of what really belongs to you. Have his legs always been this long? Has his arm always felt this heavy? Johnny's throat feels rougher than he remembers, but that could be the long slumber it had deep in Arasaka's freezer. That headache from earlier still hasn't left, even after making the long trip back home to V's apartment, sleeping in the back of his own Porsche. It feels ridiculous. It feels like a breath of fresh air in a rotten swamp. It feels... bittersweet and incomplete.

"I used to think I wanted nothing more than to be outta your head," he says suddenly, laying on the floor that he remembers kicking Vale down to when they'd first gotten... acquainted. He's been clenching and un-clenching his fists for the past fifteen minutes, staring into the ceiling. "And now that I'm back in my own..." He turns his head to the side, at the fur-less stray they'd taken in. "Is it weird to say I missed being in your tiny-cock body?"

He grins. It's supposed to be nothing more than a joke, but his wistful tone betrays him; he misses being the half of a whole. Now he's just a half, trapped in the very form that details his greatest victories- and his most tragic losses.
