Hey all my lovely followers and friends - it's Marti and it 4:45 Sunday morning, Jan 5. I want to apologize for not being as active here on tumblr as I had planned, but, being 74, things do go wrong physically. My ailment du jour was officially diagnosed yesterday as something called Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), or simply vertigo. I've never had vertigo before, a dizziness when standing, getting out of bed, or just turning my head. Something about tiny crystals in one's inner ear that help with balance that leak into other parts of the ear or something like that. All three of our physicians on site (two retired - Dr. Li and my brother-in-law Lawrence and our official physician Shannan), our nurse Gina, our physical therapist and site manager Dana, and our household manager and nutritionist Gail diagnosed me as such but there was always that little "but. . ." hanging around as well as my personal worrywart Michelle. So Michelle, Gina and I drove 90 minutes in bad weather to the nearest hospital so I could get some tests and, yep, vertigo. They gave me some prescription strength Meclazine - a motion sickness drug - and sent me home.

OK, enough said there. The result of all that is the several movies and videos I was to work on to start the year have been postponed until my balance returns. I can still do photo sessions, however, though the couple I have done so far in 2025 required several breaks. Hopefully, I'll work through this and get back to normal soon.

yeah. right down. yeah. Like, let's start to, like, straight, you know, like..

JM: Oh, you're talking about your jeans ripping.

FI: yeah

JM: Okay. I hit record a minute ago. I thought I was gonna have edit this out.

SS: no no no I thought you said sharp.

FI: Yeah? Well, they must be sharp because they're ruining my jeans,

SS: because they're ripping, yeah.

FI: So like this, my left knee and then my right testicle are sharp. Are sharp, apparently, and they destroy jeans. And so the other day, I was wearing these jeans, and it was like, what I imagined wearing a skirt is like, because it was like, breezy and it was really cold. So I was like, I have to go get jeans now. So I had to, I had to go. Good thing it was Black Friday, I got, I got some, I got a good deal on jeans... that I imagine my balls are gonna rip through."
