ARE YOU? IT'S entirely possible you're on different wavelengths right nowβ you can't be too sure with someone you don't really know. but something about her, and the way she carries herself, tells you that whatever her train of thought may be, it can only be fun. what kind? who knows, but you're interested anyway.
βMAYBE, OR MAYBE not,β is your easy response, a grin playing at your lips as you watch her over the brim of your glass (not that you even need to drink, but sometimes it's better than chewing on bullets or scrap metal and getting endless questions for it). a gulp or two later, you set it back down on the table and drape your arm across the back of your chair, regarding her with keen interest. the crosshairs in your eyes even narrow slightly, but it's with a sense of delight and intrigue rather than any actual intent to harm.
βWHY DON'T YOU tell me anyway? or do you wanna instead keep me on my toes an' see if i can keep up with whatever plan is cookin' in that head of yours?β you probably wouldn't mind that eitherβ adapting going with the flow in any kind of situation is something you think you've gotten quite good at, all things considered. maybe it'd liven things up around here, too. which, naturally, brings the risk of drawing attention to yourself and ruining your little game, but when has that ever stopped you? if anyone trying to collect your bounty notices and wants to intervene, then let them try.

A few days ago (I think), Eve sent me an artist that draws a lot of Boothill and Clara interacting together, siblings stuff and such. And it has only intensified how much I think Boothill both adores children, as someone who was a fatherβ and simultaneously is so pained when he does interact with them. Loves them to pieces, would think Clara and others are such good kids, but he can never fully ignore the pang of nostalgia and missing his own kid that comes with it.
#* . βΉ πππ£π£ππ£π π©ππ πππ’π’ππ§ βΊ out of chara#child death /#it's just part of his backstory but man#i think about how his kid was just starting to walk#and thus he wasn't even a father for a long time#at most it wasn't much over a year#even if it was a kiddo he found in the snow the same way graey and nick found him. she was his everything for that time#at least in my head#when he gets to interact with kids now he just misses them so much and i think about it constantly#i keep looking at that twitter account and just (cries into my hands)#i love love LOVE him interacting with clara and other kids but i think it truly just comes with at least a vague sense of pain and loss#returning to the front of his mind#i wish i had the words to properly explain what i mean but man#all i can do is think and sob about it lksmfvlkdm#so hi guess where my head is at today
