@i-trust-in-love phoebe halliwell for coop halliwell
phoebe glanced at her husband, feeling strangely shy for some reason. she knew him, knew everything about him, but after running into each other when she had no memories and then gaining them all back? she still felt strange and off. "do you.. do you want to just walk around and look at things? i think there's butterflies here somewhere."

it wasn’t unusual for prue to get attention when she went out. she wouldn’t call herself vain though, but sometimes it was fun to take advantage of it. like accepting a second drink for the man across the bar without going over. prue sipped on it happily as she turned to the other. “i’m pretty sure i have enough time to slip away to the toilet if he decides to come over,” she said, making it clear she had no plans of talking to the man. “mean? maybe, but i’m also not the only woman he’s been sending drinks to.”

we represent the workers in all magical industries, both evil and benign. (from Phoebe) @ofcelestialstories
"hmm," emma said at the other's statement. "well, that's reassuring, but i'm still not going to reveal which side of the spectrum i'm on. for self preservation, you see." because people could easily turn on her. but what she had approached the other for wasn't even evil. emma was sick of being confided to the shadows again. she needed something to be able to walk in the sun. "but what i'm getting from that statement is the rumours are true. you are magical?"

∘⡊ ☾ ˚⊹ @lavendaers asked: “ sometimes , all it takes is a good friend to remind you of all the things you like about your life . ” \ phoebe halliwell for jane porter
"I am inclined to agree," she speaks with a small smile as the other spoke. "I don't think I have a good friend here. Well," Jane pauses, thinking about Tarzan. "I have a friend, but he's more.. a lover, really. We both come from a place, I'd say.. out of time. If that makes sense?"

“yes, minus that part. just set me up on dates with you instead of other guys.” phoebe teased. while she hoped that it wouldn’t end up being what happened, she knew where they lived and the fact that anything was possible. one day they could be fine and the next, everything could change. they had no control over that. as awful as it was. she drew in a deep breath, relaxing the longer his arms were around her. “i think.. i think i need time before i see her. i’m very happy that she’s here, but i need that time to prepare myself.”
"And if you ever forget me, I'll happily romance you all over again. Just like when we met... minus the part where I was setting up dates for you with other guys, obviously." Coop responds in a loving but humorous tone before basking in the warmth of her smile. As they held each other in a loving embrace, Coop thanked every source of good fortune that led him to this chance at a once in a lifetime love. He was so proud of and astonished by not only how much Phoebe fought through to get here but also how strong she was to not lose herself along the way. The cupid holds his wife a little more securely. Although he had never experienced the loss of a sibling, he imagined it must have been a near unbearable pain for her. Coop nods and responds in a soft tone. "It's true, you have her back. She's here, somewhere. I'll happily help you find her. My ring is yours to use whenever."

"it's a new pleasure," lincon admitted. as grounders, they didn't really have too much music. not like of the stories he had heard of the world before it ended. they had it occasionally, but only for ceremonies. mostly singers. nothing like the bands of this world. "i have not heard this band before, but some people were speaking about they were really good, so i thought i'd come see for myself."
.。.:*☆ "Oh, I am sure the band will be delighted to hear that," Phobe mused while turning around to grab a fresh glass for the beer. "So, you are into music then?" She knew it was always good to make some smalltalk with the customers. At least with those who'd actually wanted to talk. Which Phoebe only could find out by trying. "Or is it just the music here that you do enjoy?"

The further I get through these later seasons of Charmed, the more it’s got me thinking about why they just don’t resonate with me the same as the first three seasons did. And yes the obvious big reason is both Constance M. Burge and Shannen Doherty being forced off the show but I’ve been trying to examine it beyond that in a “what specifically in the narrative isn’t working” way and I think one of the reasons I’ve landed on is that the sisters aren’t effected by something that haunts their every move as much as in the first three seasons.
Let me explain. Throughout seasons 1-3, there's Something that is constantly influencing the way the sister's behave and interact with each other. For Prue its her fear of ending up like her parents and thus abandoning her sisters. For Phoebe its feeling like she can't measure up to anyone and will never be adequate. And for Piper it's that this life that they've fallen into will rip away everything she loves. And sure, there's some of that in season 4 and beyond but it feels more because that's how the characters were originally built than intentionally written in. (Brain Drain is the only exception but that episode is written as Piper "conquering" that fear--though you do see her experiencing remnants of it with the preparation of her upcoming child being born but I'm not sure if that's intentional or, like I said, built upon the Piper we've seen in the previous 4 seasons.) But overall we don't really see these deep rooted ghosts repeatedly coming back in the same way that we did in the first season which is a huge miss, in my opinion. As I touched on, Piper's fear of being a witch taking away everything she loves would be a really interesting part of her pregnancy journey and preparing to be a mom. Or Phoebe feeling as if she'll never be enough would make her choosing to stay with Source!Cole even though he's evil really interesting and layered or later when she completely consumes herself with her work. And yes, there are remnants of both of those but the way those themes were so overt in the first three season really helped the show feel grounded and about people who also happened to be witches. There was a relatability that I think the later seasons are lacking because the sister dealt with every day issues that the audience could be experiencing in addition to demons and warlocks and the like.
I think Paige is the biggest example of this theme falling off the radar the how goes on because she doesn't really have something haunting her throughout the show. There are plenty of opportunities for that something to arise--comparing herself to Prue (trying to measure up to a sister she never met), Phoebe telling her off when she thinks Cole is evil (being the odd one out in the three of them's sibling relationship because she wasn't there for most of their lives), her meeting Grams and then Sam (not wanting people to replace the family she's already had), her not wanting to live in the house anymore (feeling stifled as an only child who is no longer an only child)--but it doesn't really. Or at least nothing really sticks. Which I think is a huge missed opportunity. Giving Paige an overt theme that haunts her throughout the show, informs her actions and pushes her forward, would be really good for the narrative. When Phoebe got upset at her at the end of The Fifth Halliwheel for not trusting Cole, I legit thought there was going to be a whole Thing about how Paige doesn't feel like she quite belongs as a Halliwell and what that means for her and there sort of are bits and pieces of that but it didn't really catch on. Not in the same way as Prue throughout her centric episodes or Piper every time she tried to give up her powers or Phoebe as she tried to get a job and couldn't and then eventually went back to college. It's there but it's not really.
Don't get me wrong, I love Paige and I enjoy these seasons but it's missing the same spark that drove me to spread out the episodes so I wouldn't finish a season too fast and caused me to obsessively think about the characters and their motivations rather than how the show structures its narrative. And I definitely think that not having those core motivators that haunt the character's every decision is part of the reason for that missing spark
#I'm sure psychology has a better term for what I'm talking about#i just don't feel like researching it atm lol#the other reason is that the sisters feel less like sisters which isn't really something that can be tangibly explained but i feel like wha#i'm talking about here bleeds into that#like there's that groundedness that the characters are missing that makes them feel more like witches who happen to be sisters and#not so much sisters that happen to be witches#maybe its the shared trauma that's missing akdafdaf#skipps speaks#charmed#ps if you disagree you're welcome to just be nice to me /lh

"You have got to lay off the rhyming, Prue."
Prue Halliwell Appreciation Week 2024 - Day 2: Favourite Power/Spell
To See The Unseen Spell - Season 3, Episode 3.
In this tween time, this darkest hour We call upon the Sacred Power Three together stand alone Command the unseen to be shown In innocence we search the skies Enchanted are our newfound eyes
No matter how well Prue's spell worked, Phoebe won't stop complaining about the over-the-top rhyming. Read below the cut or on Ao3.
Author's Note: Not only do I love this spell, but I also love Phoebe's little "you have got to lay off the rhyming" line afterwards, which is the inspiration for this ficlet.
“Alright, so Piper and I will work on the potion, and Phoebe will write the spell.”
“Wait, me? Why do I have to write the spell?” In typical youngest sibling fashion, she placed her hands on her hips and frowned as she complained.
“Hey, you’re better than us at writing spells. Plus, the Book doesn’t have too much information, and you have the extra intel from your premonition.”
“Fine,” Phoebe groaned. And so she was sat at the kitchen table struggling to think of words to string together while Prue and Piper chatted away making the potion. She secretly knew that Prue was right—she was the best spell writer, but that didn’t mean she always enjoyed it. To think she hated poetry in high school and now was the one stuck rhyming words every other week. The bubbling pot on the stove was a much more exciting alternative.
“How’s that summoning spell coming along, Pheebs?” The elder sisters had fallen silent some time ago to help Phoebe work, and Prue’s voice snapped Phoebe out of her trance.
“Huh? Oh,” she glanced back down at the notepad in front of her, where a few lines were written down and a lot more were scribbled out. “I’m getting there. Just having a bit of trouble coming up with it today.”
Prue rounded the kitchen island, leaving Piper to bottle up the potions. “Do you want me to do it?”
“No, I can do it.” She snorted. “Besides, after your last spell? All that rhyming made me feel like I was on a children’s show.”
“The spell worked, didn’t it?” Prue folded her arms over her chest. It was a damn good spell! She combined three different spells to make that one and it worked perfectly! Phoebe wasn’t the only spell writing expert around here.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah…” Phoebe grumbled, twirling her pen between her fingers.
Prue rolled her eyes and left the kitchen. A few years ago, such an interaction between the pair would have been full of tension—Piper would have stayed off to the side simply to avoid the conflict. But Prue and Phoebe were playful in their bickering, poking fun at each other with a banter only shared between siblings. It was for that reason that Prue returned with a book, dropping it on the table in front of Phoebe.
Phoebe raised an eyebrow. “A rhyming dictionary?”
Prue tapped the book encouragingly. “Hey, don’t underestimate how valuable this thing is. It’s gotten me through a lot of spells.”
With an eyeroll, Phoebe pulled the book towards her, opening the front cover.
“I can tell.”

phoebe nodded her head slowly, “cinematography?” she repeated, glancing over at her. “i’ve never really been into the arts. my sister was, but it was never really my thing.”
(¸.• ♛ → "thanks." she took it from the other one, honestly the real deal was better but right now she didn't really have time for that. "cinematography." the girl commented. "i'm studying arts so basically that."

Ok, so another random question. If you were to write a Buffy and Charmed crossover, what do you think it would be like? Like would it just be Buffy meeting the Charmed Ones and them all being badasses saving the world? Would it just be soft and fluffy friendships, allowing all of them to finally get a day off? Is it romantic (and if so, what ships do you think you'd include? Any crossover ships?) or is it funny? Adventurous? Just... what do you think it would be like?
As a side note, I know I said write but this could also be something you'd want to read or generally just the "perfect" story.
DEMON RECOVERY.
I need the Charmed Ones to meet Anya Jenkins. Also Spikey. Just. I need them to see, realize and acknowledge that demon =/= evil. That there can be good.
Basically, the Scoobies help 'em redeem Cole properly so he doesn't have to die because fuck that shiiit.
No crossover ships because I am pretty content with the canon ships in both shows (sans, ya know, Cole dying and Phoebe marrying the replacement).
I want Willow to make witch friends. And I want the Halliwells to make witch friends (ALWAYS bothered me that we never got recurring witches, like, few things tease as much as when they actually DO interact with a coven of witches just for them to NEVER APPEAR AGAIN). And I think Willow and Piper would get along?
But yeah mainly, magical means of redemption.

"you could say it's kind of like my job, but more of a volunteer kind of thing." phoebe admitted, a small smile on her face. "no, i don't think that makes anyone a coward. you were protecting yourself and that's okay."
"that is a solid point, actually. i am very impressed with your dedication to protecting those who are innocent." blaine admitted. "thank you for not thinking i was a coward.'

Day 6 of #Prueweek2024 - A Prue AU
My choice: A Cop!Prue AU
In this, Prue has become an inspector for the SFPD, and Darryl's colleague, instead of her working at Buckland's.
She has shown an affinity for this line of work throughout the original series (her figuring out Cole was Belthazor or at least considering him a suspect through extensive research and connecting dots, her combat abilities and her good sense of judgement) and her working with Darryl would connect the Morris family to the Halliwells for longer and would therefore give Darryl and his family more reason to appear on screen. Also, their friendship would be better developed and established from the beginning.
It would also be really interesting if Andy still joined them at the time he did in the original series. And Prue, not believing in the supernatural, would maybe look down on (or at least be amused by) Andy who is kinda open to these things before she got her own powers. It would be so funny to see her change her attitude towards these supernatural occurences on their cases and either pretend she still doesn't believe or to watch Andy be confused by Prue's sudden change of heart.
Besides, it does come in handy to have connections to law enforcement when you're fighting the forces of evil!
And just imagine her interactions with Phoebe. I'll bet you she threatens to arrest her lil sis on the daily...jokingly (most of the time)!!
