again I am thinking that the world building for t100 show is so stupid like 100 years? for the ARK to fall to pieces and make them return to the ground
100 years to create a whole new language?
like what? and everything about the grounders in the show makes no damn sense and I loathe it
#i need to rewatch so i can drown out the tag in the how romantic of lexa to bow to clarke in private swear allegience#(whilst clarke had to do it publically)#anti clexa#and the bellamy is a bad guy for not trusting the grounders who three months ago were their tentative allies who followed orders blindly#(there should have been more grounders trying to kill lexa for robbing them of their vengence)#we should have seen flashbacks of the ice nation attack on the kids for playing in snow#we should have seen someone realising that the cult leader is an idiot (grounders or skairkru or both)#clown on this post you will be blocked

Bellamy’s POV
I was inside, they kept me in chains and cleaned me from head to toe along with everyone else. Once they were done with that they injected something into my arm and shot a pill down my throat. They scrubbed us down so hard that I started bleeding, I couldn’t help but scream. I just kept reminding myself that this was for our people. At some point I passed out, maybe that’s because of the pill they shot down my throat. I woke up in a cage and there were so many other people in them around me. Most of them were shouting, some were too weak to. I tried to break the lock on the cage but it wouldn’t budge, not without something to break it open.
“Shof op. Emo teik daun yuj.” (Quiet. They take the strongest.) A girl in the cage next to me said.
“I can’t… I don’t understand you.” I said and she looked over at me pissed.
“Sky person?” She asked and I nodded, then she spit on me.
“I take it no one has told you we’re not enemies anymore.” I said and she just sat back glaring at me.
“I need to get out of this cage.” I whispered.
“And then what?” She asked.
“And then I’ll kill everyone in this mountain.” I said and tried to break the cage open again.
Y/N’s POV
When I woke up Cage wasn’t in the room, I guess he had work early. I got dressed in one of the many dresses Cage picked for me along with a pair of heels.
I started doing some art but then the door to the room opened maybe an hour later. I expected it to be Cage, but when I turned around it was two guards.
“Miss. Y/N?” One asked.
“Yes?” I asked worriedly.
“Please come with us, the President would like to see you.” The other said and I nodded. I followed them down the halls and to an office.
“Mr. President, we brought the girl.” One said and the elder man walked out from behind his canvas.
“Y/N, come in, thank you for bringing her, that will be all.” He said and the two men nodded. They left the room and shut the door behind them. One walked off and the other stayed by the door.
“Please, take a seat.” He said wiping his hands of paint. I sat down and looked around the room nervously.
“Why am I here?” I asked worried that I did something wrong.
“Relax dear, I simply wanted to know about the girl that peaked my son’s interest.” He said and leaned against his desk.
“So, you’re Clarke’s sister?” He asked and I narrowed my eyes.
“That was a long time ago, I’m not a sky person anymore.” I said with a slight edge to my voice.
“No one is a sky person or grounder here Y/N, you’re finally safe.” He said and I just nodded so we could move on from this. I wasn’t safe, but I wasn’t going to say that to him.
“President Wallace?” Jasper’s voice filled my ears before either of us could say something else.
“Can we talk?” He asked and I turned around.
“Jasper?” I asked and he looked at me shocked.
“Y/N! You’re okay!” He said relieved. I got up and hugged him and he hugged me back.
“Are you really okay?” He whispered in my ear and I nodded.
“Just want to get out of here.” I whispered back.
“What’s on your mind, son?” President Wallace said. The two of us pulled apart and turned to face him.
“My friends.” Jasper said walking closer to him.
“What about them?” Wallace asked and I looked at Jasper confused.
“Two of them are missing.” He said and my eyes widened.
“Who’s missing?” I asked worriedly.
“One of them is Monty. Tell me where they are.” He said.
“Jasper, I don’t know what you’re-”
“Stop lying.” Jasper cut him off.
“Excuse me?” He asked.
“You lied about there not being any survivors from The Ark.” Jasper said and I felt my spirits lift a little, I may not be one of them but if they saved me I could go back to Lexa and John could still be alive.
“You lied about Maya’s accident. I don’t even know how many lies you told about Clarke.” He said and I noticed he was getting worked up.
“Please, sit down and we-”
“No!” Jasper shouted and grabbed the sword on Wallace’s desk.
“Jasper!” I said shocked. He held the sword up to the President’s throat.
“You’re gonna tell me the truth.” He said.
“Jasper. Please, put down the sword.” The President said trying to calm him.
“Why should I?” He asked.
“Jasper, really listen to him.” I said and he glanced at me.
“If we find them Y/N, you can get back to Murphy.” He said and I bit my lip. I wasn’t strong enough to help him and he knew it.
“Are you gonna make us disappear next?” He asked and my heart sank at the thought, Cage wouldn’t let that happen to me right? I can’t believe I’m thinking that…
“Where are they?” He asked again.
“I told you, I don’t know that happened to your friends.” Wallace said. Jasper moved closer to him and I moved behind him, I doubt I’d be able to stop him in the state I was in, but I could try.
“Do I look desperate to you?” He asked.
“Because I’m feeling pretty desperate.” He said and I could tell, honestly I felt the same way. I wanted out of here just as much as everyone else did.
“You’re right. I did lie about Clarke. About the survivors from The Ark. And about what happened to Maya. I’m trying to protect you, Jasper. All of you.” The President said.
“Where are they? Where the hell is Monty?” He shouted and in seconds President Wallace had Jasper against the wall with the sword to his throat.
“Jasper!” I said shocked and worried. I moved next to Jasper and looked at The President.
“Please don’t hurt him.” I begged.
“This is not a toy.” Was all he said to us. He pulled the sword away from Jasper and I moved in front of him, just to check his neck.
“Are you okay?” I asked and he nodded slightly. He pulled me to him in a protective way as the guard from outside came into the room.
“Yes, sir?” He asked.
“Could you please find out where Dr. Tsing and my son are at the moment?” President Wallace asked. I looked up at Jasper and saw a few tears fall down his face.
“Anything else, sir?” The guard asked looking at us.
“Not presently.” He said and the guard nodded then left to do the job he’d been given.
“Let’s take a walk.” The President said putting the sword down and looked at us.
“Where?” Jasper asked as he tightened his grip on me.
“To find your friends.” He said and turned walking away. Jasper looked at me and I bit my lip. We followed after him.
Clarke’s POV
We got back to Camp Jaha and set the two injured men on tables. My mom was working on the Grounder that had been shot while I was with the Mountain Man.
“This guy’s from Mount Weather. We’ll need to keep him alive.” I told the guys that were helping me place him down.
“There was a tear in his suit, but we fixed it in the field.” I told Jackson as Raven walked up.
“Anything from Bellamy?” I asked her.
“No.” She said.
“Then why aren’t you with the radio?” I asked her.
“Octavia just took my place. So how about you back off?” She said to me.
“No. Leave it on. It’s the only thing keeping him alive.” I said stopping Jackson from removing his suit.
“How can we treat a guy if we can’t touch him?” He asked.
“I can rig up some scrubbers in the air lock.” Raven said and we looked at her.
“Give me 20 minutes.” She said then rushed off.
“Damn it!” My mother said and Jackson walked over to her.
“I’m losing him. I need the blood now!” She shouted. I watched as the light left his eyes.
“He’s gone…” My mother said. Indra walked over to him with her dagger out.
“Yu gonplei ste odon.” (Your fight is over.) She said and cut one of his braids. She looked at me and walked over to me.
“A keller lives while a warrior dies? This is your way?” She asked.
“I’m sorry, Indra. But he can help us beat Mount Weather.” I said.
“Then let me make him talk.” She said.
“No. We’re not torturing him.” I said.
“Clarke’s right. He might just talk because we saved his life.” My mother said.
“You people are so weak. It’s a shock that Y/N is from your blood.” She said and walked off.
“Are you okay?” My mother asked coming next to me.
“He’s gonna need a transfusion with our blood.” I said to Jackson.
“I’ll type him as soon as we can take off that suit.” He said and I nodded ready to leave, but my mother stopped me.
“Someone tried to kill you today. It’s okay if you’re upset.” She said.
“Just another day on the ground.” I said and she looked at me shocked.
“I’ll be in Engineering waiting for Bellamy to radio. Let me know when he wakes up.” I said and walked off.
Bellamy’s POV
I kept trying to bust the cage door open, but nothing was happening. I could tell the Grounder girl next to me was growing more and more annoyed, but I had to get out to save everyone.
“They come!” The Grounder girl said scared and tried to make herself look small.
“Quiet!” She growled at me and I stopped. I moved to the back of the cage as two men walked up to us.
“Yep, this one’ll do.” He said unlocking the Grounder girl’s cage. She looked so scared and I knew I had to do something. I kicked the cage door which grabbed their attentions.
“We got us a live on.” The man in a guards uniform said and he stopped unlocking her cage. The other man stuck a rob in my cage and zapped me. They unlocked my cage and I made an attempt to fight them but the man zapped me again. He then injected me with something and that was the last thing I remember. The next thing I knew, I was waking up and hung upside down. A girl crouched down in front of me.
“Who are you?” She asked and I looked around confused.
“You’re from The Ark, aren’t you?” She asked.
“Yeah.” I answered kind of out of breath.
“Do you know Jasper?” She asked.
“Maya?” I asked realizing who she could be and she nodded.
“How about getting me down, Maya?” I asked. She nodded and started pulling wires off my body. I heard the door open and she stopped to look at who entered.
“Lovejoy. Hey.” She said.
“What are you doing here? You’re not cleared for this facility.” The man said, I recognized his voice, he was the one that came in earlier.
“I know. I’m sorry. I just wanted to see what was so special about him. But...he’s dead.” She said and I shut my eyes.
“So he is.” The guy said and a few moments later I felt myself being lowered. He started taking off the cuffs on my ankles.
“You’re a brave girl, coming in here-” He was cut off by me kicking him in the face. I quickly took the other cuff off and he pulled his gun on me.
“Don’t move! Don’t move!” He shouted at me.
“On your feet. On your feet!” He ordered me. Maya stabbed him in the neck and I grabbed for his gun, but he pulled the blade out and slashed my arm before I could get it. The two of us started fighting.
“Stop!” Maya shouted holding the gun at Lovejoy.
“No, don;t! They’ll hear.” I said and punched him in the gut. He kneed me in the stomach and then pulled me back so my chest was exposed. He raised the blade in his hand and was ready to stab me, but the Grounder girl in the cage grabbed his arm and stopped him. I got out of his grip and grabbed his neck squeezing. He was dead within a few minutes.
“Thank you.” I said to the Grounder girl and looked at Maya.
“Are you alright?” I asked her. She was clearly shaken so I walked over to her and gently touched her arm.
“Hey, are you okay?” I asked.
“I’m fine.” She said and I looked at the dead body.
“Help me get him undressed.” I said and walked over to him.
“We need to get rid of the body.” I added.
We got him undressed and I put on his uniform. Best way to blend in is look like the enemy right? Maya showed me the shute they use to get rid of the bodies when they’re done and we sent Lovejoy down it.
“You’ve done enough.” I told Maya.
“You should walk away.” I added.
“You don’t know where you’re going.” She said.
“So draw me a map.” I said.
“No.” She said shaking her head.
“I’m in.” She said holding out a gun and knife.
“Okay.” I said and checked how many bullets I had.
“I need to get to the radio so I can contact Clarke. We heard Jasper’s SOS-”
“I helped them set that up. I know where it is.” She said cutting me off.
“Bellamy...Your people are disappearing. Two so far. Monty and Harper. And Cage took a liking to one of your people too. Y/N.” She said and I looked at her.
“What do you mean took a liking to?” I asked.
“He keeps her locked in his room, doesn’t let her see her friends, and he drugs her to keep her weak.” She answered.
“Okay, well I wanna see the others. Now.” I said.
“The dorm’s on the way to the radio.” She said.
“Okay.” I said and started walking.
“Wait.” She stopped me. She pulled the Lovejoy nametag off the vest.
“Everyone here knows everyone.” She said.
“Put this on and roll up your sleeve.” She said handing me a hat. I did as she told me.
“Tracking chip?” I asked.
“It’ll trip alarms once we start moving. We have to take it out.” She said.
“Do it.” I said.
“How’d you know what my name was before I told you?” She asked slicing into my arm.
“Clarke.” I said unphased by the cutting.
“Clarke said Jasper couldn’t stop talking about someone named Maya. She smiled and took out the chip. I put the bandage she gave me over the cut.
“Put this in your cage.” She said handing me the chip. I did and the Grounder girl looked at me, begging me with her eyes to let me out.
“I’ll come back for you. I promise.” I said.
“Take me to my friends.” I said turning back to Maya.
Y/N’S POV
We followed President Wallace down to an old creepy lab. If I had my strength I wouldn’t be so terrified. Jasper kept me close by just to be safe. As we entered the lab we heard a drill and some screaming.
“Mr. President.” Dr. Tsing said shocked.
“Put that down. Get away from that girl.” He ordered her.
“Jasper! Y/N!” Monty called from the cage he was in.
“Monty!” Jasper said and rushed over to him.
“Release him.” The President ordered and the other doctor in the room did. Jasper helped Monty out of the cage and they hugged. I walked over to them and gave Monty a hug as well.
“The ground is our birthright. You can’t keep us from that.” Dr. Tsing said.
“Watch me. Lock her up.” The President ordered. A guard helped Harper up and another grabbed the doctor.
“Go back to the dorm and tell your friends to pack their things. You’re going home.” He said.
“Thank you.” Jasper said.
“Take me to my son.” President Wallace said.
“Yes sir.” A guard said.
“Are you alright?” Jasper asked Monty and he nodded. I bit my lip.
“I should probably go back to Cage’s room, if he finds out I’m not in there he’ll-”
“No, you’re coming with us.” Jasper said and Monty nodded.
“You can’t go back to him Y/N.” Monty said and I sighed. Jasper grabbed me a dragged me with them.
Bellamy’s POV
I followed Maya down a bunch of halls memorising them for future use. We were making our way to the dorms. I needed to confirm everyone was alright before contacting Clarke.
“There are 382 people inside this mountain. If any of them realize you’re not one of us, you’re dead.” She said pulling out a keycard for the elevator.
“We’re on level two. The dorm’s on five. There’s a camera in the upper right-hand corner. Keep your head down.” She informed me as the elevator opened. We walked in and I kept my head down just as she told me to do.
“Hold the elevator!” A man called out and stopped the doors from closing.
“Hey Maya.” He greeted her walking in.
“You know I missed you in my Expressionist class.” He said.
“Yeah, I… I had some work to do.” She said, I could tell she was nervous.
“Oh, I’ll get you the notes.” He whispered. I placed my hand on the gun and looked at her. She looked at me and shook her head. The elevator stopped and two more people walked in. The elevator stopped again and Maya nodded at me that we needed to leave.
“Hey, you’re bleeding. Are you okay?” The man asked me as I was leaving.
“You’re exposed. We need to retrace your steps and find the breach.” Maya said thinking quick on her feet.
“You better go.” She said and the man started leaving.
“What about you?” He asked.
“This is my job, I’ll be fine.” She said keeping my back to him. Once it was safe, we left the elevator and made our way down the halls. Maya stopped me from turning a corner, I could hear kids.
“Come on.” She said after a minute or two. We started walking again and a sign that said pre-school.
“Mister?” A little boy said and tugged on my hand. I turned and saw him staring up at me.
“Are you on a ground unit?” He asked and he looked excited about it.
“My dad’s training for a ground unit.” He added.
“It’s pretty cool up there. I hope he makes it.” I answered. He smiled and walked off, that when I noticed the name on his backpack. Lovejoy. I killed his father… I took a deep breath trying to stop a tear from falling down my face.
“They’re just kids.” I whispered.
“What’d you expect you’d find here?” Maya asked. I looked at her and then she walked off. I followed behind her.
Y/N’S POV
We made it back to the dorm and Monty and Harper got dressed. Jasper gathered everyone up while Monty kept me close to him. I could tell everyone was worried.
“Alright. Listen up. There’s gonna be questions but there’s no time.” Jasper started.
“We’re getting out of here. So pack your stuff.” He said.
“What are you talking about?” A girl asked.
“They’re letting us go?” Miller asked.
“Yes. Right now, before they change their minds.” He answered.
“Jasper, what the hell’s going on?” The girl asked.
“They lied to us the while time about everything.” Monty said.
“The Ark is on the ground and we’re not safe here. Now do what he says.” He added.
“Now!” Jasper shouted. The two boys grabbed me and pulled me away.
“Is there anything you need to get from Cage’s room?” They asked and I nodded.
“I can get them quickly.” I said and they looked at each other.
“Okay, but hurry.” Jasper said and I rush to go get my things.
Bellamy’s POV
We were finally close to the dorms and I just kept my head down until we got there. Once we did I looked in and saw all my friends inside.
“There they are.” Maya whispered. A second after she did we heard an alarm go off. I looked over and saw the doors close and Jasper’s face appear at the window.
“What’s going on?” I asked Maya.
“I don’t know. It’s not a breach, but it can’t be good.” She said and we looked back at the dorm.
“Get me to that radio.” I said. She nodded and then we were off.
Clarke’s POV
They already started bleeding my friends. Hell my sister too! Y/N could be dead and it doesn’t seem like my mother cares all the much at all. I walked to engineering to tell Raven the bad news.
“We’re too late.” I said walking into the room.
“They’re already bleeding them.” I said and Raven looked at me shocked.
“It’s over.” I said.
“No.” Raven said.
“You don’t get to give up, Clarke. You killed Finn, and I didn’t give up.I’m building a damn tone generator, do your job.” She said with a raised voice.
“What is my job?” I said with the same tone.
“I don’t know. To come up with something.” She said.
“I have tried.” I said.
“Camp Jaha, this is Mount Weather. Anyone read me?” Bellamy’s voice came through on the radio before Raven could say anything more.
“Holy Crap.” She said and I walked over in shock.
“Camp Jaha, this is Mount Weather. Anyone read me?” He said again.
“Bellamy?” I asked.
“Clarke?” He asked.
“Are you alright?” I asked.
“I’m fine. But that’s it for the good news.” He answered.
“We have to talk fast. Something has changed. Jasper, Monty, everyone is locked in the dorm.” He said.
“But they’re alive? All of them? My sister?” I asked.
“I think so. For now. I haven’t seen Y/N yet. Apparently this Cage guy keeps her locked in his room.” He said and I sighed.
“Maya says they’re already using their blood. Things are gonna get ugly in here real fast.” He said.
“Maya’s with you?” I asked.
“She helped me escape. If not for her, I’d be dead.” He paused.
“And Clarke, there are kids in here. We need a plan that doesn’t kill everyone. Please tell me we have one.” He said.
“I hear you. But we can’t do anything until you disable the acid fog. Raven’s gonna help you.” I said.
“Got it. What else?” He asked.
“You have to figure out a way to free the Grounder prisoners. There’s a whole army inside that mountain and they don’t even realize it.” I said.
“Trojan horse. Good plan.” He said.
“What does Maya think? Is it doable?” I asked.
“She says it’s not a problem.” He said and I chuckled a bit.
“Clarke, if I’m gonna pull this off, I need you to buy me some time. It won’t be long before they realize I don’t belong here. And if that happens-”
“That can’t happen. I’ll come up with something.” I said cutting him off.
“Come up with it quick.” He said.
“Copy that. And Bellamy?” I asked.
“Yeah?” He answered.
“You came through. I knew you would.” I said.
“All I’ve done so far is not get killed.” He said.
“Keep doing that. You’re up.” I said and handed Raven the radio.
“What are you gonna do?” She asked me before I could leave.
“Keep on looking outside instead of in.” I said. I went to get Octavia and the Grounders that were with us when we came here. We all walked to where we were keeping Emerson. The guard that was standing in front of the airlock tried to stop us.
“Don’t.” I said to him and he moved to the side.
“Get dressed. You;re coming with me.” I said and he did. The grounders grabbed him and we took him outside.
“Clarke, what are you doing?” Kane asked but I ignored him.
“Clarke, stop.” My mother said and stood in front of us.
“No. I’m letting the prisoner go.” I said.
“Absolutely not.” My mother said.
“He hasn’t told us anything yet.” Kane said.
“He doesn’t have to. He’s gonna tell them something.” I said.
“Get the prisoner back to the airlock. Now.” My mother said.
“Yes, Ma’am.” One of the guards said and a few tried to get to him. The Grounders moved to protect him.
“You may be the Chancellor, but I’m in charge. And I’m getting my sister back.” I said and my mother looked at me shocked.
“Indra, tell your people to stand down before this gets out of hand.“ She said.
“No.” Indra said and there was a bit of a pause.
“People could get hurt.” My mother said.
“Not if you get out of my way. You need to trust that I know what’s right for us.” I said.
“The Grounders trust Clarke. Maybe we should too.” Kane said stepping in.
“Stand down.” My mother ordered and the guards did. We continued walking to the gate.
“Open the gate. Now!” I ordered and they did. The Grounders brought him outside and in front of me.
“Can you hear me alright? Because I need to make sure you get this.” I said.
“Loud and clear.” Emerson said.
“I have a message for your leader. We’re coming for him. You’re watching us, but you haven’t seen a thing. The Grounder army is bigger than you think. And even if you could find it, your acid fog can’t hurt them. And now thanks to you…” I said and pulled out the Tone generator.
“Neither can the Reapers. So you have one last chance. Let our people go, and we’ll let you live. It’s just that simple.” I said with a slight smirk.
“I got it.” He said and I grabbed his pressure regulator to see how much he had left.
“It’s an 8 hour walk back to Mount Weather?” I asked looking at him then opened the valve to let some air out.
“You’re gonna do it in six.” I said.
“Six hours? That’s not enough. How am I supposed to deliver your message?” He asked.
“That’s your problem. Now go.” I said and he started running.
“Clarke. You wanna explain to me how this helps my brother?” Octavia asked.
“I just told them we have a secret army to worry about. The more they’re looking at us, the less they’re looking at him. Bellamy is the key to everything, Octavia. If he dies, we die.” I said and she nodded. I walked away and the Grounders followed me. This better work or we’re screwed.

The 100 rewatch: 2x12 Rubicon
This is a pivotal episode of season 2, in some ways the show as a whole, because it marks the beginning of the gradual destruction of Clarke Griffin’s moral certainty. She has been forced to make tough decisions, but up to this point, she had not crossed the line and done things that felt really morally wrong, such as sacrificing a number of innocent lives. But this show isn’t willing to spare its protagonist and give her easy ways out, and puts her in situations where she is faced with impossibly difficult choices, where she eventually starts doing things that chip away at her soul and make her more and more damaged. This is basically her arc in season 2, in particular. A reference to “crossing the Rubicon”, a fateful decision, feels appropriate: Clarke gets to choose between sticking to her old moral views, and doing everything to save those she cares about, and it’s the same choice she’ll keep on making.
Meanwhile, the Delinquents trapped in Mount Weather make a big decision of their own, to fight back against their captors/killers.
And in the Jaha/Murphy storyline, the B storyline of season 2, which continues separate from the main storyline until season 3, one of my favorite characters is introduced.
Rating: 9.5/10
I’ve always liked Emori. She’s a great example of a good female anti-hero, especially one that eventually gets real character development – something that the show has tried and failed to do with some other characters. It’s also nice to have such a character not be a stereotypical “badass chick with a sword who’s strong because she can fight the best”, but a manipulative, roguish thief (though there have been popular female characters like that in various shows from Star Trek: TNG to Firefly, it’s not so overused, especially recently, as the latter trope is, and Emori has more depth than those characters did). She’s also one of the show’s two major characters with disabilities, but hers was congenital rather than something that happened to her as an adult, as with Raven.
I love the fact that the show didn’t go with the standard “bad man gets redeemed through the love of a good woman” arc for Murphy, but instead, had him change through love for a not-so-good woman. At first, it seemed it would go the former way, when Emori introduced herself as a damsel in distress and a sweet girl with a sad past, before putting a knife under Murphy’s throat and robbing the party, though she did help them reach their destination by whispering to him that they should go north. Which fits into this show’s tendency to create romance from negative interactions, but in comparison with some others, this one is not so bad.
It makes sense that this is who Murphy would fall for – someone who is a ruthless survivor and an outcast, more than he is. Or rather: Murphy, who likes to think of himself as the ultimate survivor, had a tragic childhood – like many on the Ark – but had an opportunity to be a part of a community with the Delinquents in season 1, and blew that chance – twice - due to his own negativity, tendency to antagonize people, and obsession with holding grudges and revenge. But Emori was an outcast since birth, due to her disability, which made her, in the harsh Grounder culture, a ‘freak’ that needs to be eradicated from the bloodline, as we learned earlier in the season. She’s known no protection or belonging, other to the criminal duo of herself and her brother. This is a difference that will matter in season 5: when she finally was given a chance to be accepted and valued as a part of a group, Emori was glad to accept it and learn, and she didn’t have the same insecurities that Murphy has, which made her more integrated into the group than he is able to be, because his issues are internal.
Murphy is at this point the character who gets the best lines (“Touch me and I’ll end you…In a non-violent way” - “Faith? No. I just got nothing better to do”), but he still has a long way to go until he gets actual redemption, because he’s still trying to justify his actions. (“I killed two people and tried to kill two more… I had my reasons, but nobody cared.” – Yeah, dude, everyone has reasons for what they do. Doesn’t mean they’re good.)
One of the things that struck me about season 2, and particularly in this episode, is the amazing cinematography with different color schemes: the desert scenes with Jaha, Murphy and the rest are full of a bright, blinding yellow, as opposed to the muted blue of the Quarantine and the vents in Mount Weather, while the other scenes have normal color balance and brighter colors.
In Mount Weather, the Mountain Men have started to drill and kill the kids. Cage and Emerson were apparently among the first to get treatments and be able to can walk outside, as did some other soldiers, like Whitman, the guy who performed the bombing of Tondc by navigating the missile and then picking up the survivors with a sniper in the following episode. It makes sense that guys who usually go outside on missions would be the first to get bone marrow treatments, while Cage took be the first or one of the first, and also forced one on his father. Dr. Tsing, unfortunately to herself, didn’t give herself one yet, probably thinking she had time, which had consequences in this same episode.
Bellamy meanwhile continues his mission by deciding to ask help from Dante, and manages to get it, though he wisely didn’t trust Dante enough to tell him who was helping him. He’s managed to get Jasper a gun, which allows Jasper to fight back, shoot a guard and save Monty again from being taken. Jasper has become sort of a leader of the Delinquents in their rebellion, thanks to his courage and determination to protect his friends, especially his best friend. Then other Delinquents start fighting with whatever they can to defend Jasper from being taken, before Bellamy irradiates Level 5, killing the present guards and Tsing. Tsing almost saves herself, by getting into another room, but Jasper stops her from closing the door and lets her die of burns in front of him. It’s interesting that Jasper, when he shot the guard, looked like he was surprised by himself, even though he’s shot people before (Grounders on the bridge in S1) and that he was technically the one who killed about 300 Grounders with the ring of fire in the season 1 finale, but he hadn’t participated in close range fighting like that before or killed someone he could see. But just a few moments later, he was clearly enjoying his revenge over Tsing, sarcastically repeating her line “I want you to know you’re incredibly special to us”. Which I can’t hold against him, Tsing was terrible and I doubt there was anyone who didn’t enjoy her death.
But the most important parts of the episode are about Clarke. She and Raven are both on the edge, just as in the previous episode, and arguing a lot, waiting for another one of Bellamy’s regular calls. Any time he’s late with calling, they cannot be sure if he is still alive. The Clarke/Bellamy talk starts with a rare funny moment where the two of them sound like a married couple bickering (“You’re late!” – “Are you through?”), but things get serious very quick, as they learn from listening in to the Mountain Men channel both that the Delinquents are being drilled, and that the Mountain Men are about to bomb Tondc, where leaders of all the Grounder clans and Arkers are about to meet.
Clarke lies to Bellamy that Octavia is not in Tondc, in order not to distract him, but Raven later lets it slip in another talk with him that she is - something that will come during their confrontation in 3x05, when Bellamy will accuse her, among other things, of letting a bomb drop on his sister.
Now, the question is, what exactly was going through Clarke’s subconscious when she left to get to Tondc as soon as possible, and then went immediately to talk to Lexa. She certainly thought she should warn everyone and argued it to Lexa, and was shocked when Lexa, apparently cold as ice, started convincing her that they should leave and save themselves without telling anyone. But Lexa managed to convince her quickly by arguing that alerting people would blow Bellamy’s cover in Mount Weather, and ruin the entire mission and lose them the war – and telling her that she must have known that herself deep inside, or else she would have warned people immediately. Clarke seemed struck by the realization that she really must have felt that way – which may be why she later didn’t try to defend herself when Abby called her out on her actions (“You crossed the line”) and took responsibility, when Abby asked her to tell her it was all Lexa’s decision.
While trying to convince the insecure and confused Clarke, Lexa used the phrase “It’s our only choice”, which will pop up a few more times during the show. She also praised Clarke’s “strength”, telling her “You showed real strength today, don’t let emotions stop you now”. But I don’t think that’s really what happened, at all. The decision to let the bomb drop on all these people was a cold, rational one for Lexa, the kind she thought good leaders should make and that would help her win the war (and maybe also help her politically, by killing some other Grounder leaders), but for Clarke, it was all about protecting Bellamy and the Delinquents trapped in Mount Weather. Clarke started off with a strong belief in the value of human lives in general, she cares about everyone, and she tries to save everyone – but it’s hard not to prioritize the lives of people you care about over the lives of stranger. It’s a common, human thing to do– it’s hard to be perfectly impartially ethical, if your loved ones are at risk. And Clarke has been acting extremely worried, impulsive and driven by emotion – it was really obvious. I find it hard to believe that Lexa, who is very perceptive, didn’t notice that, so that line sounded like manipulation. It was as if she was validating Clarke’s choice by telling her it’s a sign she’s strong and a good leader, rather than panicking and struggling to protect her loved ones. And Clarke later makes the same choice when she is about to try to kill Whitman, but then gets distracted by seeing Abby, and gets focused on saving her mother instead, losing her the chance to stop the missile. (But in all the chaos, she forgot about Octavia… oops. Which both Octavia and Bellamy will hold against her. It’s not that Clarke doesn’t care about Octavia, but the fact is that she is not as important to her as Abby or Bellamy are.)
But either way, whether Lexa was manipulative or just imparting her views, and whether Clarke was already subconsciously feeling she would have to make that choice, this is where it became clear that, while Clarke may be able to have good influence in Lexa, Lexa’s influence and her advice certainly doesn’t bring out the best in Clarke. I think that their dynamic was very interesting, and very well-written in season 2, because Lexa was a “Shadow” character for Clarke - at the same time that Clarke found herself in the position of de facto sole leader of her people, and had to make tougher and more ruthless decisions, she met Lexa, the embodiment of darker traits of her character, upped to 11: as a young ruler who came to power as a child, she is both enormously privileged and has had a huge burden of responsibility, which made her isolated and emotionally repressed, and she believes in unquestioned, tyrannical rule, ruthlessness and treating people as expendable, if needed for the “big picture” (because this is what Grounder culture values and what Lexa has been taught to be like). Clarke is not quite like that, but she could be like that, and starts becoming more like it.
The difference is that Clarke is constantly questioning herself and always feels guilty over everything bad she does, while Lexa seems to have convinced herself that her actions are right and necessary and what a good leader should be, so she is not showing any remorse or doubt.
And this is why I knew after this episode that Lexa is never going to be one of my favorite characters. I kind of have a thing against leaders who let bombs drop on their own people when they could have saved them, and think it’s a great opportunity to use casualties for propaganda purposes, asking for revenge -something that Lexa actually argues in her conversation with Clarke. (It also has some unpleasant real world associations for me, which puts me off even more.) But I can forgive characters a lot when they show genuine remorse, so I still love Clarke, who didn’t make her decision in cold blood, and who is obviously deeply tormented and ashamed of what she has done.
The only part of this episode I’m not that keen on – which is why it doesn’t get a perfect 10 – is the resolution of Lincoln’s drug addiction storyline, because it’s a bit too easy and unrealistic. One moment, Lincoln, having relapsed, is again serving the Mountain Man like a Reaper and knocking out a Grounder to bring him to Mount Weather to get more of the “red” drug. The next, it’s enough for Octavia to punch him and basically tell him to man up (“Grounders don’t give up, we fight” – again with the whole “I am a Grounder” thing, which makes no sense) for him to be cured of his addiction? I don’t think that’s how it works.
Background info: Apparently, Mount Weather didn’t have to use missiles that often, because the last time they did it was before Lexa’s birth – over 20 years ago. It’s safe to say that they didn’t feel threatened by any armies the Grounders could have formed during that time.
Timeline: This episode starts 6 hours after the end of 2x11, and 2 days since 2x10 (that is long it’s been since Jaha left the camp, taking 12 people and 12 guns)
Body count: More people died in this episode than in any other one in season 2. (Unless we count off-screen deaths of Arkers from various stations that either died in the crash of the Ark, or were killed, including the deaths of people from the farm station killed by the Ice Nation – but we don’t even learn about the latter until season 3.)
3 Delinquents, killed and drilled for their bone marrow by Dr. Tsing, Cage and other Mountain Men. None of them were characters we knew by name, so the emotional effect was small. 48 Delinquents still survive (45 in Mount Weather + Clarke, Octavia and Murphy);
15 Mountain Men (though Cage said 11) –Tsing and 14 guards – from radiation poisoning on level 5, after Bellamy irradiated it (unless the guard Jasper shot was already dead before Level 5 was irradiated), but Jasper also caused Tsing’s death by not letting her close the door. This means they are 365 Mountain Men still alive.
About 250 people (we find that out in 2x14) – Grounders and Arkers – in Tondcc, from the missile strike, killed by the Mountain Men: specifically Cage, Emerson and Whitman, but Lexa and Clarke are indirectly responsible for letting it happen. No info on how many of the leaders of the 12 Grounder clans were killed, but Luna and Queen Nia obviously survived, though we don’t see them in 2x13, so it’s not clear if they were even there, or sent someone else on their behalf (or if Luna even responded to the invitation).

You saying that Becho is toxic and still shipping Murven is the most hypocritical thing I've ever heard. Admit it, you just don't like Becho because of Bellarke.
Okay, I’m going to do the silly thing here and try to explain the differences between Murven and Bleggo, just because of the semi-polite way you phrased the question, nonny.
I’m a law student, and so I think it makes sense for me to use that when addressing issues with a logic. So bear with me, I promise this is going to make sense. (Even if you don’t agree with me in the end.)
Let’s start with Murven, shall we? So the main issue people have with Murven, as far as I’m aware, is that Murphy shot Raven in season 1, and that caused all the problems with her leg and constant physical pain as well as emotional issues, and also why she took ALIE’s chip in the first place, etc. And I believe that Murphy was the cause of all that, but there’s a big difference between causing something and being at fault for that. When you kill someone, there’s a lot more to being at fault for it than just pulling the proverbial trigger.
To give you an example, if a friend asks you to pick them up at an airport, but you decline because you can’t leave work, so they have to take a taxi and the sketchy driver robs them, then technically speaking, you’re the cause of your friend being robbed. Had you given them a lift they asked for, they never would’ve gotten into the taxi with that driver at all. But saying that it’s you fault just sounds ridiculous.
To transfer this example onto the show, one might say that had Bellamy not helped Pike kill the army of Grounders in their sleep, Clarke would’ve never had to convince Lexa that “blood must not have blood”, and Titus would not have tried to kill Clarke as a result of his anger with that policy and would not have shot Lexa. So technically, Bellamy was a (one of many) cause of Lexa’s death, but it was nowhere near his fault. With this logic in mind, while Murphy might’ve been a cause of Raven’s physical sufferings over the season, it wasn’t his fault or responsibility.
However, I’m not saying he’s absolved of any guilt at all, he did shoot her after all, but what I also know from doing law is that in any wrongdoing what matters most is the intention of the said wrongdoer. What he wanted to achieve is just as (if not more) important than what he did. I remember very clearly that when Murphy shot multiple times at the floor, it was because he thought Octavia was hiding under it (ironic, right? Lmao) and he wanted to shoot her.
He had no problem with Raven and no intention of ever hurting her. If anything, it’s Bellamy who should have a problem with him (and I’m surprised that the show kind of let it go) because Murphy wanted to shoot his sister, for goodness’ sake. And yes, he was reckless when shooting at the floor because he didn’t know who was actually hiding under it, but he never intended to hurt Raven.
Raven herself understood it, and she forgave him, and forgave him in a way that made sense, in a way that was developed on screen. And even before he knew she forgave him, he worked for his redemption for a long time, he supported her, pretty much babysat her when she needed someone to look over her, listened to all the insults and raging screams that Raven subjected him to, because he wanted to earn her forgiveness.
Now think of Echo and how she approached her relationship with Bellamy. She betrayed him at Mount Weather twice, and despite a lot of people saying that she led him away from there to protect him, I honestly believe her orders were to distract all soldiers so that they wouldn’t have a chance to stop the attack from happening. She threatened Clarke multiple times, knowing how important she is to Bellamy, spent a whole season trying to convince Roan to kill Clarke, so that he would take her power. She made sure Octavia would die, literally threw her off a cliff, already wounded (when she could’ve easily knocked her out and taken her hostage instead, if she really only did it because Roan ordered her to), and saved Bellarke & Co. in 4x12 (I believe) just to protect her own hide. All she said to Bellamy to justify herself - that we saw on screen, at least - was, “Do you think we’ll ever be able to trust each other again?” Like, damn. That’s not even close to an apology, and instead of using going to space with the crew as an opportunity to earn Bellamy’s forgiveness, she tried to kill herself, and it took Bellamy being the bigger person and basically pretending he was okay with her to actually convince her that she should try and do something with her life.
So no, while I see some parallels, I could never really compare Murven to Bleggo. I will never understand Bleggo, will never support it or admit that it’s just because of my love for Bellarke.

the 100 ask game
Tagged like over a month ago oops I didn’t mean to take this long by the amazing Kat | @viviansternwood, thanks love <3
1. What station on the Ark would you be from?
Apparently Mecha was formed from the AEB spaceship so probably Mecha?
*AEB is like the Brazilian NASA
2. What would you get arrested for on the Ark?
Probably for arguing with authority or some shit like that. I don’t take things at face value.
3. Would you take off your wristband when you landed on the ground?
Nah, I’d probably try to find a way to make it possible for me to read the vital signals it was detecting.
4. What would the necklace Finn would make for you look like? (Clarke: deer/Raven: a raven duh..)
Finn is a douchebag and I doubt I would ever get along with him, but anyways, I have several owl necklaces, so probably an owl.
5. If you could resurrect any MINOR character who would it be?
Zeke love of my life
6. Create a squad of 5 characters to go on missions with. Who are they?
Raven, Miller, Monty, Bellamy, Clarke.
7. What Grounder Clan would you belong to you?
I will say Trishana just because I like me some pretty glowing forest
8. What would your name be in Trigedasleng? (example: Octavia=Okteivia…just make it up!)
I think my name is already spelled like it’s spoken? idk
9. Thoughts on Finn? Some people hate him, and others love him, so I’m curious
I... I cannot remember my first impression of him. I also binged the first 2 seasons, so I never really got to form an opinion on him, I guess. But he is an asshole, no questions asked there.
10. Be honest. How willing would you have been to take the chip without knowing all the horrible things it does?
I don’t think I would.
11. What character do you relate to most?
Monty, probably. Or Raven, to a certain extent.
12. What character do you like the least?
Abby and Kane have been around for longer than they are needed at this point tbh and I never liked Gaia that much either, and Niylah just feels kinda ooc to me
13. Describe your delinquent outfit. (Would you wear something like Murphy’s jacket with the spikey red shoulder patch or have a trademark like Jasper’s goggles? Be creative, yet practical)
I wear a lot of black pants, and I have a biker style jacket that I tend to wear when it gets colder mine is suede though not leather. Oh, and colorful headbands if we are going for practical, I have a lot of hair I need to keep off my face.
14. Favorite type of mutant animal?
Mutant insects!!! They were never really shown but gimme all the bugs
15. What would your job be on the Ark?
I would probably be a scientist or teach science.
16. Would you have willingly pumped Ontari’s heart if Abby asked?
Sure
17. If Lexa wasn’t Heda, but she was still alive then who would have made the best commander?
I wasn’t her biggest fan, but Luna would have made a good commander
18. How would you act if you ate the hallucinogenic nuts like Jasper and Monty?
I’m a sleepy drunk, so maybe I would get sleepy? Or just like super absent-minded?
19. How would you have dealt with Charlotte’s crime? A more John Murphy approach or Bellamy Blake approach?
Bellamy Blake approach, definitely.
20. Who should have been the Chancellor, if anyone?
Honestly? I cannot picture anyone as a truly good Chancellor. Maybe David Miller? He seemed to have his head on the right place.
21. Would you have been on Pike’s side like Bellamy or on Kane’s side? Or Clarke in Polis?
Kane’s side.
22. Mount Weather had a lot of modern commodities. (example: Maya’s Ipod) What is the one thing you would snatch while there?
An Ipod, or some other sort of electronic device.
23. What would your Grounder tattoos look like? Hairstyle? War paint?
War paint around the eyes I would say, and then hairstyle a lot of braids probably, and tattoos... probably some sort of pattern using thin lines.
24. Favorite quote?
I’M TERRIBLE at remembering quotes y’all
25. If all of the characters were in the Hunger Games, who would have the best shot at winning?
Octavia or Echo
26. Least favorite ship? Favorite canon ship? Favorite non canon ship? NOT INCLUDING CL OR BC OR BE
Least - idk I’m not particularly against any ships
Fave - Memori or Zaven
Non canon - MINTY WE WERE SO ROBBED YALL
27. A song that should be included in the next season? If there had to be another guest star like Shawn Mendes on the show, who would you want to make a cameo?
Can we get Stephen King to make a cameo lol he watches the show right so that would probably be funny
As for a song, idk I don’t think I listen to the kind of music that matches The 100 vibe
28. What would you do if you were stuck in the bunker with Murphy for all that time?
Sleep... I feel like there must have been books in that bunker, so read them all and reread them all.
29. You’re an extra that gets killed off. How do you die?
Let’s be real, my glasses get broken and I can’t see shit without them, so I fall off a cliff or something very stupid like that.
30. A character you’d like to learn more about and get flashbacks of?
Echo, the founders of Sanctum. I wish we had learnt more about Luna and her conclave class or maybe had seen a flashback with Costia. Grounder culture in general? There was a lot of build up around it, but not that much telling, let alone showing.
31. A character you’d bang?
Raven, LINDSEY MORGAN IS A GODDESS and I’m a mere mortal
32. Would you stay in the Bunker? Go up to Space? Or live on your own in Eden?
SPAAAAAAAACE
33. In the Bunker, would you follow Octavia? What would you do to pass the time underground?
Probably I mean, I definitely wouldn’t want to die. I don’t know what I would do to pass time though.
34. What crime would you commit in the Bunker that lands you in the fighting pits?
Again, speaking against authority aka Octavia?

41. Would you start a war for the last spot of green on earth? What would your solution be to avoid it?
Sharing is caring
42. Would you rather dig out flesh-eating worms or stick thumb drives into bullet holes?
Either or?
43. Are you willing to poison your sister for the Traitor Who You Love? What would you do to stop Octavia?
This is a very subjective question, like if I knew my brother I don’t have a sister would recover from the poisoning, then maybe, otherwise I might just imprison them or something.
44. Would you go to sleep in cryo or stay awake like Marper?
Cryo
45. Who are you waking up first to explore the new planet?
The 5 I mentioned for my explorer team
I won’t tag anyone because we are well into the season... again I didn’t mean to take this long but I forgot I had this on my drafts 🤷♀️
