i cant ever imagine chrobin as having a robin who is anything other than kinda like scary and tired and burned out and jaded and a little tricky yk like has a bit of that slimeball charisma but is also like really emotionally shut in and repressed gay who is like really overly cautious to make any moves on chrom and when one of the girls who likes him gets touchy and flirty he sinks into his crossed arms on the table and scowls across the room and lets his heart grow darker and darker and more and more insecure in his love and attraction. i also cant ever see him as younger than or the same age as chrom i always think of him as older by at least 3 or 4 years. i also feel like his whole "stolen away by his mom which saved him thing" doesnt really mean his relationship with his mother was great and ive always written his mom as being a bit 2 sided and being one of those moms who kinda didnt care about their kid once they stopped being a cute baby like the baby fever wore off and she was like "well shit now i have to feed this thing that gets in the way of my sex life and expendable money and lord knows our economy is fucked" and it def effects his attitude towards women like he's lowkey misogynistic sometimes because he's just such a insecure gay who to boot also had a mom who pushed him out of the house too often and now he sees any lady who makes a move on chrom as both a threat to his 'claim' and also as his mother.

like i see chrom and robin as being like perfect counterweights to eachother. chrom is a stupid, far too trusting and openhearted, young and innocent, jock-y and talkative dude who likes to follow rules because he doesnt know what to do if someone hasnt told him what to do. robin is shaped by this by being a wise and intelligent, wary and a bit close hearted, older and torn up chess master style nerd guy who's more of a listener than a talker and kinda scary (old as hell evil spirit lingers but also he's just like that) who does not really give a shit about anything anyone says and just does it his way.

considering a major aspect of robin is suicide themes it just feels right for him to be more blatantly the "passively suicidal" type who just does whatever drugs he wants to and stays up for days on end to do paperwork and self starves and has emotional blow ups here and there and makes risky decisions for himself and lashes out at strangers he doesnt like even in a professional setting. he's the brains but chrom's the charisma when it comes to their duo of making the country run. robin can do the paperwork but he's liable to do some stupid shit in front of political figures if he doesnt respect them.

it's always such a weird whiplash to see the majority of chrobin both canon and non canon is like... short uwu robby when like i never read him like that at all. he lit his own battleships on fire. the dude has a ancient evil demon dragon for a soul and he just raw dogs live like that. just because he's a mage doesnt mean he HAS to be super cuted up. like, i usually appreciate it but robbie is a bit of a filthy oil-y guy i feel like. the type of guy that makes it make more sense when fredrick is like "chrom this dude looks suspicious as fuck" at the beginning of the game. i do imagine robin as a fairly manly dude in terms of build i just dont think he's jacked. he's got a desk job assumably when he's not doing like, war stuff. is arms and legs are probably fairly muscular because he uses them a lot but he's a mage, he's still squishy, he spends time sitting down and writing a lot, he doesnt have abs. of course, my robin has a in universe somewhat fluctuating physical appearance but i tend to think of him as somewhat broad shouldered with hips you would notice if you saw him standing around naked or whatever but not an hourglass he's still more shoulder. a bit of a hunch, a face creased by stress and scowling, thin hair that always seems to be falling out like a shedding animal, scabs on his shoulders and neck where he picks at his skin, bad posture. i think like whereas chrom has a "well fed jock whos fighting depression" body type, robin looks like a predator animal with mange. like, he can look handsome but it's always gonna be "scruffy handsome" and it wont stop him from giving the "im 5 seconds from breaking this bottle over your head" stare
