So the reason I love Minthara so much is because she is my first significant encounter of female on female SA being represented, and the first I have related to a character so deeply.

I know the Orin stuff is never clarified and up for interpretation but it is fair to say Orin abused Minthara in some way. It is specifically the way Minthara copes is how I relate to her. She is angry, furious, she wants revenge, she is embarrassed/irritated that anyone could take advantage of her that way.

When I realised what was happening to me, I felt the same and that anger I felt was something that people around me didn't accept. They didn't like that I was reacting to it (which is insane I know but it's quite common) and they didn't like how angry I was. I was even called 'bloodthirsty', and it forever changed my relationships with family members.

I don't want to get into any specifics because it is something I have moved past and put the work in, and specifics won't help anyone lmao - so dw guys I'm good!

Anyways I am a very ambitious person and that part of me (used to) despised myself for letting that happen to me, to let it affect me. I was quickly assessed and they found that I had CPTSD, which is a lifelong mental disability, I had manage it there was no quick fix and there would never be a 'fix'.

(I would really recommend looking up the difference between CPTSD and PTSD as it they are commonly mixed up. Link here xox )

But I had an education to complete, university to get to, I had big plans. And eventually I did all that, I completed my education, and higher education and I have big plans.

Well Minthara was the first woman I saw have a similar reaction to me, she was a mix of fury and shame, but her anger was so palpable I could really relate to it. And throughout it all she's like "yea so when I rule the underdark" or "when I take over this cult" and I'm just like fuck yeah you go!

Minthara has that awareness that yes this super fucked up thing happened to me and I am going to get my revenge, but I'm also going to take over the world so can we just get to it?

I could list the other million reasons why I love her but this is the main one. I have some artwork of her that I bought of etsy that I have hung up and whenever I'm feeling down I just look at her and go - what would our lord and saviour miss sexy drow lady Minthara do right now? (wwolasmsdlmdrn)

The answer would canonically probably be illegal but hey still fun to think about.

Anyway hope this kind of illuminates why Minthara is my favourite character, definitely not the response nonnie or anyone was expecting.

if elain and azriel actually end up together, would you still read the book?

Let me be honest with you there was a time I thought Elain was going to end up with Az and I was NOT coping well lol

I tried so hard to gaslight myself into liking them and trust sjm for making me change my mind about them but it didn't work. I used to think if she made me love Nesta, she can change my mind about them too lmao

But sjm has a way with words. That even if she's not confirming anything she can tell us what she wants to do subconsciously. At least this has been my experience with her books and stories. Just like when people were screaming Bryce and Azriel are mates, I read the first scene Hunt appeared with Bryce in CC1 and I knew they were endgame. Although I didn't have this feeling toward Gwynriel but I knew Elucien would serve the best angst specially after I read that scene where Elain takes half a step toward Lucien and I knew they would be my kind of couple.

And after CC3 I'm 90% sure that the next book is about Gwynriel and 5% chance that is about Elucien.

The other 5% though... I want to give sjm the benefit of doubt if she wanted to do something absolutely insane like throwing the plot away and make Elain and Az endgame instead...

And if that happens I would still read it. I might not like their dynamic but the main couple of the next book is not my only reason to pick up this series. I still want to read about Feysand, baby Nyx and what shenanigans he might bring, the inner circle, Nessian, Gwyn (!!), her possible friendship with Rhysand, EMORIE... There's so many reasons that would make me read their book but it might not be my favorite book ever!!

And that's fine I made my peace with it. Because canon is a choice the author decided to go with, you don't have to agree with it. There's no law about shipping the canon couples!!

So the answer would be: yes. I would still read it. And yes I would still ship Gwynriel and Elucien because that's my preference :)

Hiiiiii! I am answering this like 50 years late because I got shy about posting about OCs for some reason, but thank you! <3 I will answer it now because he is on my mind again 🥺

5. Would they ever turn on someone they just met in order to save themselves?

In order to save himself? No, I don't think so. He usually takes the diplomatic approach, opting to try and work with someone even if they oppose him and find peaceful solutions or ways they could work together (even at a risk to himself). I think the only time he'd outright turn against someone is if things broke down enough that others were in danger, escape was impossible, or if his own death would do more harm to others than good (ie. there's still work left to do that only he can do) and the only way out is to incapacitate or kill the other person. 11. What are your character’s coping mechanisms?

Most of them revolve around Junior, his mabari. Though he isn't trained as a service dog or support animal, he is well attuned to Edan's emotions (having grown up with him) and reacts accordingly or goes to get help when he needs it. Edan is also generally pretty good at regulating his emotions (at least as he grows older) though during late Origin and early Awakening he developed some anger issues and cracked under the pressure, shoving people away, punching walls on occassion, and isolating himself. After awakening, though, he got a better and healthier handle on his emotions and was finally afforded the time to process his grief and trauma and step up as a leader by choice instead of by force :)

16. What are your character’s vices and bad habits?

His main vice is his lyrium usage, which he developed as a result of templar training with Alistair prior to him realizing what it truly meant to be a templar and becoming disgusted with the whole thing, even though he never intended to actually become one and Alistair had encouraged him not to use lyrium. Though he never ended up using the powers (as they were tools against the oppression of mages and his initial desire to learn had been based on dangerous biases and misconceptions), he remained hooked on it. However, he does eventually overcome it by attending Cullen's rehab (and making amends with him because they had a particular disdain for each other after the events at Kinloch Hold a decade prior. But that's a story for another time! He also has a terrible habit of being too trusting, wishing to see the good in others and validate their potential to change even when they are covered in red flags or he knows they are being deceptive. This affects him the most when Roderick was revealed to have partially him in Origins (not part of the mod, I made it up!) and in his inquisitor AU when he knew Blackwall was lying about being a warden but chose not to call him on it or tell anyone because he assumed he had his reasons and considered him a dear friend, only to discover that he had slaughtered a family (BIG trigger for Edan of course). But again, stories for another time lmao.

hi what do you think would've happened to tanjirou if nezuko had died as well

Mmkay so I let this ask roll around in my head for a bit and slowly I'm starting to enjoy the concept the more I think about it. Now I mean to say this without completely overhauling his canon personality but I think Tanjiro would become a very Hateful person with alot of Hate in his heart. His hatred and compassion can very much co-exist! Tanjiro deserves alittle darkest rotting within. As a treat.

(I bolded my main points so if anyone wants to, they could just skip through and understand without having to read several paragraphs lmao)

The first thing that came to my mind was @wynsnerdyrambles wonderful character analysis that Tanjiro's empathy for demons was, in a way, a coping mechanism. To shorten it, he has to believe that there's something more to demons. Something good. Because if he doesn't, then what is he fighting for? In canon, it's just a given that he would empathize with demons because of Nezuko. With her, he had a perspective from both sides, but without, there really isn't a reason for him to think that way. The only demons he encounters are ones that are blatantly cruel. (Excluding Tamayo and Yushiro)

I think he just wouldn't be able to find it in himself to sympathize with the sadness or fear they feel when dying. The hand demon laughs about how many of Urokodaki's apprentices it's killed, but is upset at it's own death. Kyogai trapped people in his maze-like house to kill and eat but cries when he's killed, feeling unappreciated in the time he was alive. On top of killing humans, Rui mistreats his own family but grieves when Giyuu finally decapitates him. There's a pattern there that Tanjiro picks up, but instead of being able to empathize with them, I think he would misinterpret their grief for their past life as self-pitying. And it.... infuriates him. All he's ever seen is the pain they've caused to himself and others, so his view of them is that they're creatures who feel entitled to take lives then act sorry for themselves afterwards.

Also on the topic of Rui, even without Nezuko, I think their fight would be very, very personal to Tanjiro. Witnessing the way Rui mistreats his family when Tanjiro has lost everyone.... oh boy. Oh boy. I think that would be the final straw for any and all of his composure, even if Giyuu was the one to deal the finishing blow to Rui, I think Tanjiro would end up in a screaming fit like he did after Akaza ran away. We'd probably get alot of those, actually! He's not here to make demons feel forgiven in their last moments anymore, he wants to make sure they know they aren't forgiven. He going to make sure they don't forget all of the pain amd suffering they caused. Tanjiro will be hand-delivering every demon he kills to hell himself if he has to. <3

But like I said, his anger and compassion can co-exist. He would still be very kind to other people, though more short-tempered and less tolerant of asshole behavior.

Zenitsu is still mostly the same (If not at a higher risk of being headbutted for disrespecting women. Tanjiro's momma raised him right, dammit.)

Inosuke too. Tanjiro's a bit less patient now though, so honestly they might clash a bit more but nothing serious.

I think this version of Tanjiro has mixed feelings about Giyuu. Tanjiro doesn't blame him for his family's death, but there's just some uneasiness between them because Giyuu blames himself. Obviously Tanjiro doesn't know this yet, but it's because they have such similar backgrounds. Giyuu can't help but see himself in Tanjiro and it hurts to think that there was a possibility he could have saved his family so their interactions end up being sort of stiff.

Overall I don't know if that many of his relationships would change for the worst, but I do think he would manage to make new ones!

This Tanjiro and Shinobu are very similar in their anger. Because of this, they probably get along terrifying well and whether it's good or bad, learning from her definitely nurtures his anger. I don't think she would ever purposely encourage it, as it's not a trait she likes in herself, but Tanjiro would be especially impressionable when it comes to her. He's around her alot, they get along well and deep down, he probably yearns for a motherly/sister figure, so it's only natural that he might imitate her.

And I think by extension he should also get along with Aoi. He's lacking without Nezuko, he needs more girlbosses in his life.

that said, i do definitely tend to think of the cat king as one who has less restraint regarding what kind of touch is appropriate or proper for which kinds of situations.... which. sounds Suggestive but i just mean that natori would probably personally prefer in more public settings, that their interactions, physical and otherwise, remain fairly businesslike to anyone looking in from the outside and not show such overt familiarity and/or comfort with each other in a way that might imply anything beyond that of a working relationship

no, but, i do imagine a lot of. Trouble in the beginning, bc natori has some particular skills that would come in handy, but he is also, as mentioned above, not exactly a fighter. as strong as his protective impulses might be, they won't amount to much when he struggles to lift six pounds and is winded after running short distances i'm sorry natori i don't mean to roast u i love u

while the king certainly has more. uhhh. vigor? sure but also doesn't have near as much of a cooperative or goal-oriented attitude, and it might take a pretty dire situation for him to change his tune (were lune with them for some reason, it'd be a much different story, but natori doesn't inspire quite the same desire to protect in him, at least not, well, without an outside trigger, like i said. if something did happen, and natori did end up in danger or injured, then that’s probably what it’d take to get the king to start taking it more seriously. it’s also what would probably for possibly the First Time Ever cause him to have that epiphany that natori is an immensely physically vulnerable creature bc even in like the main verse here he doesn’t fully Register that)

What makes me laugh about Sam's death is that the entire point was for the writers to explore the emotional impact it had on the surrounding men in her life but imo, even that has been half-assed & sloppy. I get that everybody handles grief & their emotions differently but so far I don't believe a single tear has even been shed for poor Sam... Iain's guilt appears to more so be directed at the repercussions he's had to face regarding his job and tbh a few pent-up emotions and fist fights p1

It just doesn’t cut it. No wonder Ruby hasn’t been getting any focus. The writers can barely handle the grief of 4 petulant/choleric men as it is. & what’s more is that it feels like there’s so much that is relevant to the story that we haven’t seen because they’re allocating their limited screentime for the sake of pointless scenes. I don’t particularly care for it but if you’re going to do a sl at least do it properly. Don’t give a character a few brief moments of angst & call it PTSD.

the thing that baffles me about the writers, is how the storyline they decided to follow sam’s death with was “man pain but without the man pain” like ?? out of All the possibilities, i don’t understand why that was the one they went with. the two characters they decided to focus on aren’t even doing Anything asdfghjk.

they didn’t even fight because they lost sam, they fought because dylan can’t keep his mouth shut for ten seconds and iain took offense at being blamed for the accident. and their fucking “”argument”” lasted half an episode. like ??? if you want a conflict storyline So badly that you write iain suddenly going off at ruby (who, by the way, has done Nothing wrong in her fucking life. ever) then why would you not just keep the dylan/iain conflict going for several episodes considering that they, oh, y’know, actually had valid reasons to hold a grudge against each other ??? 

(i mean i know why. it’s because ruby’s the kind of character who won’t defend herself which means it can go on for Ages until she finally tells someone or iain realizes he’s a giant fucking Dickhead. oh, and because she’s also exactly the kind of character who would forgive iain for treating her like that. three cheers for female characters being treated like crap by men who will either face zero consequences for behaving like That or have said behavior excused because they’re having Such a hard time right now.)

“everyone grieves differently” is Fair but it only counts when the characters are actually grieving asdfghjk. of course the main reason they aren’t is because of Bad writing but imo they also definitely picked the Wrong character to focus on in dylan. the only reason they chose him is because he had a “”history”” with sam, like. he was rude to her when she returned and basically ignored her for the rest of her tenure. (that and he also just. doesn’t react to things that much so focusing on him during a grief storyline ?? what did they think was going to happen really ??) i mean, ruby was closer to sam by the time she died than dylan was and yet she didn’t even go to the fucking funeral lmao.

the team can’t juggle their cast effectively in general so i’m not surprised that they can’t handle 2-4 male characters even though they’re all doing basically the Exact same thing. iain, dylan and jacob in this sl are like that whole “can i copy your homework?” “yeah, just change it up a bit so it doesn’t look obvious you copied” meme asdfghjk. but that’s just another reason for why ruby should have had a part in this storyline. 

like.. if it were me, i would’ve focused on ruby/iain and the contrast between both their reactions to the crash/sam’s death and how they cope with it. and then how they come together to move past it and honor sam by being the best they can be. so like��� for the episode we just had, for example, i would have completely taken out dylan’s patient storyline and allocated that time to ruby and sam’s funeral. ruby forfeited going out of (irrational) guilt and when iain gives his speech, it cuts to her in the ambulance when he says a certain part. dylan’s still in the episode so we can see his (much better written) grief; he still gets to make his dickish outburst at the funeral, and iain still gets to knock his lights out, but he’s only a supporting character in the storyline. 

i’m getting carried away though asdfghjkl. so anyway !!

i don’t care for this storyline at all but i would certainly be less annoyed by it if it was done properly and with at least some semblance of logic. if the characters don’t grieve then that’s basically just telling me that i shouldn’t either. sam might as well have just transferred to a different hospital for all the unemotional fallout we’ve had. (and, like, don’t get me started on how the two male characters they chose to focus on had exclusively rude/violent reactions (or, in jacob’s case, no reaction At All) which is such a fucking stereotype lmao like god damn let your male characters cry and actually mourn their loss ???)

1. i personally really like how the body looks, i love the aesthetic that we mostly have, the piercings, the dyed hair, and the tattoos. just a bit annoying that the body doesn't quite look like what i look like or have the same age sometimes, but we’re pretty close so its cool. i think i might be the one who’s most content with how the body looks besides bee aka bailey (the host and main/core). tyler just reminded me that they really like the dyed hair and piercings and confidence that we have.

2. dude i love that pretty much everyone has a different style/aeesthetic! i think its pretty cool. bee, esther, tyler, and i have similar aesthetics, but we each have our own twist on them. jax and i guess riley and possibly evan?  have the most different aesthetics. jax is a total soft plant boy/mom. tyler is the little emo. lol pretty cool.

3. ooh! im not sure, i don't think so? but evan may be a fictive/factive (he’s new we don’t know a lot about him).

4. yeah!  bailey is really nice and has made everyone our own playlists! including for times when we’re co-fronting. she's sick ands is music. :)

5.  bro lol i don't really do anything to cope with memory loss idk our system just has a bad memory in general and add, so its hard to tell what's what lol. i guess i help write songs, draw, and write down edgy feelings/poetry sometimes.

6. oh dude i think esther and blurry have the most different personalities. ahh esther likes to read books,  and blurry is just sometimes (sorry mostly) mean and destructive. everyone is mostly pretty nice and kind. yeah possibly tyler? i mean we’ve come a long way since our early teens, but we’re growing stronger everyday (yes tyler that means you).

7. ooh dude we think blurry was the first alter to. ‘be born’/created; all the sudden bailey feels like she had two parts to her and was SUPER. edgy and just depressed. and shut almost everyone off. ahah,, so yeah that's the first memory

8. ooh we love dancing actually. i mean none of us. really do it a lot,  but bailey used to be in dance for a while. i and tyler headbang along with bailey a lot lol. we. like to just jump-and down and around a lot lol it makes riley happy and excited. :)

11. sort of? idk? we should do an experiment. :)  i think we’re all pretty good at art, but we have similar yet different styles, approaches, and ideas. jax would love to actually get something out into the actual world that looks remotely like what they come up with. sort of sad and frustrating. :( bailey, jax, and i like to doodle/draw/sketch sometimes. but its really discouraging when what we’ve done looks nothing like what we had in our mind.
