Regarding Isis Morales —
By the time women are 40, 83% of them will be mothers. If you do not care about the systemic oppression of mothers, you do not support the rights of most women.
Isis first became pregnant at 17. She was a baby herself, not yet finished with highschool. She described the men who were the fathers to her first two boys as “from the hood”. She stated this was an unstable and unsafe place for her children, and left.
Isis did at one point have a job which paid 90k (before tax) annually, however working a 40+ hr a week full time job is an incredibly difficult task when you are the mother of two children who aren’t old enough to be enrolled in government-funded school and need to be cared for 24/7. Childrearing and homemaking are labor, so in reality she had two full time jobs. No, on 84k a year (after tax) you cannot hire a full-time nanny, which cost an average of 60k a year in California.
America is one of the few developed countries that have no government-mandated maternity leave. Women with children are left to fend for themselves for three to six months, and often lose their jobs upon returning. We have no subsidized childcare for working women past a certain income threshold, nor child health insurance. Putting your children through college costs tens of thousands of dollars each.
Isis was homeless and had two unsheltered children with nowhere to go after her lease ended with her ex. At this point, it’s likely her and her children had no health insurance either. Her husband said he would only give her a place to stay if she married him. This is coercion. Essentially, he bought her. This is exactly what men want. They want women to exist in a society where they are vulnerable and have no place to go, where women are expected to both work themselves to death and do all domestic chores, or legally sell their body to men.
Marriage is an arrangement where women legally sell their bodies in exchange for safety. We live in a country where women are encouraged to financially rely upon men and yet we blame women for financially relying upon men. Every facet of government encourages marriage— tax breaks, shared ownership of assets, shared retirement fund, widow’s pension, shared medical insurance, and more. Whereas single mothers don’t get shit.
And yet, everyone is more upset with Isis than her husband, who raped his own biological children, aged 2 and 4. We are upset because Isis married a rich man, in an attempt to secure her children’s future. We are upset that Isis didn’t ‘make sure he was good’ as if men who seem sweet and kind don’t murder their families again and again. We’re not talking about the man who raped his own toddlers.
Isis and her trophy-wife guides are simply a reflection of what society demands of women: shave your arms, do whatever men want, pretend to be whatever they want, dress nice, don’t gain weight, be submissive, do housework. She was teaching women what men want, and she was right. Men don’t want an individual, they want a blow up doll. She did not create these standards. Men did.
Isis states, “I built this whole channel around being this man's wife.” Then, “I didn't realize that the person I married was actually going to be my biggest nightmare."
Isis herself was the product of rape and had been sexually assaulted in her childhood, and always kept a close eye on her children to keep it from happening to them (they were not allowed to be on family members laps, or kissed, or hugged if they did not want it.) Learning her husband who she devoted her life to was abusing their toddlers absolutely destroyed her.
Instead of screaming “men should stop raping their babies” feminists are screaming “she’s so stupid for not knowing better”
Some statements from feminists about Isis:
Some women would rather advocate for forced abortion, eugenics and sustaining the deeply abusive foster care and adoption system than let mothers have human rights.
Tell men in the government to give single mothers adequate financial security. Tell men to stop raping toddlers.
Focusing all your energy on yelling “stop making tradwife tiktoks” and “scope out men first to make sure they’re nice” are going to get us no where. This is why feminism is so unproductive. ‘Nice men’ is a misnomer when women are more likely to be murdered by their husbands than anyone else. Marriage needs to be abolished and women should receive government-funded full childcare support. We don’t blame men because it’s just too easy to blame women.

An Essay For your Consideration
The Manson Family, Heaven’s Gate, The People’s Temple; all are fairly well-known cults. They are known because of what they did. They all made the news in the worst possible way. The Manson Family murdered innocents because their prophet commanded them to. Heaven’s Gate ended in a mass suicide. The People’s Temple ended with a mass murder/suicide. These are all traumatic and shocking events. It is because these are so well known and present in the public eye that these cults in particular have shaped the way people portray cults in the pieces of fiction they write. This is evident from The Order in the Silent Hill Series by Keiichiro Toyama to The Village by M. Night Shyamalan. The cults in the media are always dark, unhinged, or at the least upsetting to most people, which is why the viewer generally ends up rooting for the hero. In a particular fictional cult they express several of the above traits. In the 2019 horror comedy musical Black Friday, written by Matt and Nick Lang with music and lyrics by Jeff Blim, there is a cult that goes about the mall doing similar crimes. This kind of behavior is extreme. In general, cults while still awful and problematic in their own rights, do not go to such horrific lengths. The Wiggly cult in Black Friday has extreme behaviors, even by cult standards.
When the cult first formed in the mall in Black Friday it was not completely horrible, unhinged yes, but not completely irredeemable. Over the course of a few mere hours they turned to savage actions in order to get what they wanted. It started off with just burning down the Cinnabon in the mall as a “sacrifice to a dark god”. Their actions only escalated from there. The cult’s prophet, Linda Monroe, slit the throat of the manager at Toy Zone when he could not get her a Wiggly doll immediately, even though he tried to bargain with her saying that he could contact the manufacturer and get her a Wiggly doll. She later tried to have one of the cultists murder a teenage worker at Toy Zone, presumably for lying about having one of the Wiggly dolls. She lied about the Wiggly doll to protect her sister who carried it, unknowingly, in her backpack. The teen worker managed to escape and find help in the end, but she was supposed to be murdered. The cultists also ended up finding this worker’s sister and taking her back to Linda who threatened her with a knife when she found out the sister no longer had the Wiggly doll. She most likely would have been murdered by Linda if there had not been help coming from her sister. The cult eventually died in a fire when the whole mall burned down due to the Wiggly doll being set on fire, because they refused to leave the Wiggly doll that they had gotten ahold of and were fighting over who would be the new prophet since Linda had been shot and killed. The cultists literally burned alive instead of escaping because of their cult and them wanting to be the new prophet. That is an absolutely horrific and painful way to die. Them burning alive for their god is a prime example of extreme behavior. Even when it comes to the more extreme cults, they generally do not end up with cultists burning alive, voluntarily. This kind of behavior is why the Wiggly cult in Black Friday is not a regular cult.
Cults show up on the news on occasion. Those cults are generally more violent and upsetting because what they do or what they did has to be something awful to get them onto the news. NXIVM is a cult that has made headlines semi recently since they did awful things like brand women and make women give them blackmail materials so they could not leave the cult once they joined. This sounds bad and horrific and is only scratching the surface on what truly was going on, but they did not commit murder or mass suicide. This is also just one case, a case that made headlines no less. When it comes to the easily recognizable hallmarks of cults the ones that come to mind are the manipulation of their members, brainwashing, and the separation of members from their family and friends. Cults usually end up separating the members away from their family and friends in order to make them more vulnerable and likely to stay within the cult. The cults also sometimes take money from their followers who, believing that will be put to a good cause, give it to the leader. That money is usually used to benefit the leader of the cult in some unorthodox way, like buying a sports car or nice worldly possessions. While that sucks and no one should take advantage of people like that, it is still far better than murder. In Wiggly’s cult they were willing to kill for one of the Wiggly dolls. Their prophet wanted four of them, but not a single person in the cult had one until the end and when they finally got one it was Linda’s, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. The people that also were part of the cult had problems because that was how Wiggly ensnared them. They were part of the cult of comfort because of their own issues and wanted relief. That is the same reason why many people joined NXIVM. Keith Raniere presented his cult as an MLM that sold courses for self improvement. In Black Friday Linda had an affair with her lawyer and desperately wanted to be adored. The other cultists had similar issues, one had recently lost a job, another was homeless and so on. This cult of comfort had people under its thumb believing in their new god, Wiggly.
There is also the issue where people blend the lines between cults and religions. The fact is that they do overlap in areas, and many cults are based upon being a religion. Thomas Robbins explains that the ways religions have become more cult like has affected the studies of the sociology of these religions. Then the other group that cults overlap with is political parties. There are a number of political cults as well. The Cult of Cheka in Russia is a big one. The public sees that “the FSB continues to promote a positive image of the Cheka in the public imagination”. This cult is pushed to be in the public eye and is supposed to be thought of as good. It is literally a government supported cult. That is because this is a secret police kind of deal. That implies that this lies on the more extreme side of cults as well, but that is the way most of the well known ones are. Wiggly’s cult has both of these aspects to it. Linda is Wiggly’s prophet because he is a dark god from another dimension, but the reason people love and believe in him is capitalism. Wiggly is not only an interdimensional being with the powers of a god, he is also the little dolls that were sold in the Toy Zone, and all over the USA. The commercial for those dolls promised relief from the woes of the world to his followers. They were convinced that this product would make everything better. That is why they were willing to burn with the doll rather than just letting it go.
Most cults that end do not do so by such tragic means but rather they just split apart or fizzle out on their own. Sometimes there are legal issues, but they are generally something smaller scale than murder, such as tax fraud, insurance fraud, etc. Those are still crimes and they are seriously wrong but not nearly as bad as killing someone.
The time in a cult does affect the mental health of the individual. The ex-members of some organizations would say that they suffered from “cognitive deficiencies (e.g., memory, perception, decision-making, or information-processing deficits) and emotional impairments”. The separation from family and friends makes it harder for people to leave. The cults do, generally, let people leave though, and people do choose to leave. This is not the most common, but nor is it completely unexpected. While people who leave their cult do consider it to be rewarding, they also have problems afterwards. They can have physical issues, emotional issues, psychological issues, or some combination of them. These are regular cults, the more extreme variety could have one committing serious crimes like murdering, being an accomplice to murder, or straight up ending with them dead, whether by their own hands or not. Those people in Wiggly’s cult did not leave; they would rather die than leave their cult of comfort, so they did.
The people that ended up in the cult in Black Friday were there because Wiggly and by extension Linda promised to fix the holes in their lives. They just blindly followed and believed her when it came to what Wiggly could and would do for them. They would not take responsibility for their own problems and try to solve them themself. The cultists wanted the fake promises of comfort Wiggly gave them rather than trying to fix them because it was easier to just rely on Wiggly. They wanted someone else to fix their problems like their failing marriage, losing their job, their messy divorce, losing custody of their kids, their dead wife, etc. This is something that probably drives real life people to join cults as well. Bad circumstances can have one turning to ill advised sources of comfort and relief. In some cases that ill advised source of relief could be cult. These are the kind of people that a real life cult would target to try to get them to join their ranks. These are people who might turn to a cult in times of trial which is exactly why a cult would try to convert them simply because they are easy targets. Even if the actions of Wiggly’s cult are extreme the member’s reasons for joining are ordinary and understandable. That gives this cult some sort of connection to a more realistic cult. The actions from this cult do align with some cults, namely The Manson Family and The People’s Church.
The Manson Family was also a very extreme cult when it came down to it. The Manson family with the myriad of crimes they committed. Those crimes including murder, torture, hostage taking, the attempted assassination of the president and other lesser crimes like grand theft auto and forging a check from the treasury. The trial was no less disturbing with Charles Manson trying to represent himself and after a few days being found incapable of doing so. He also entered the courtroom with a cross carved into his forehead. Manson demanded to be allowed to testify and they agreed. He testified that he was a product of the criminal justice system since both his father and mother ended up in prison at some point. The court also ended up having members of the family testify and they told the truth of what Manson said and believed. They actually ended up testifying against Manson. The cult was following his orders and it was on his orders that they killed. They also believed what he was saying about Helter Skelter being a huge war of which the Family would come out on top of. Manson said that was the true meaning behind the Beatles song by the same name. The cult also had members afraid of Manson and they were scared to disobey so they did what was asked of them whether they wanted to or not. That kind of behavior from a cult is intense, extreme, and rare which is why it was in the public eye as much as it was. This is exactly the kind of cult behavior that Wiggly’s cult from Black Friday also expressed. They also had similar behavior to another cult, that cult being The People’s Temple.
The People’s Temple started out with good intentions, but ended up with a large amount of its members dead. It started as a genuine religion but changed for the darker as the leader, Jim Jones, started faking healings and doing drugs. The healings would bring in more people and more money and with that money eventually Jones started doing drugs which evidently caused him to change, personality wise. He started wearing his signature sunglasses at that point to hide the fact he would have been doing drugs. He eventually got so paranoid due to the drugs that he decided to start his own little paradise for his followers out in Guyana. He started a small village with cottages and called it Jonestown. Many of the followers flocked out there, but once they got there they were stuck. They did not have enough money to leave, Jones kept their passports in a locked box, and all of the mail coming in and out was monitored. Those combined conditions made it practically impossible for anyone to leave. Life in Jonestown was miserable; they did not have enough space or food for everyone. Eventually concerned family members were able to convince U. S. Congressman Leo Ryan to go check on Jonestown in 1978. He and a bunch of reporters visited on November 17th, 1978 and at first it was okay but Ryan invited the followers to leave with him. Jones got very upset at how many wanted to go and as a result one of his lieutenants attacked Ryan with a knife. He escaped without harm. Jones then ordered for Ryan and his companions to be killed. They were ambushed and murdered as they attempted to board planes to leave. Then Jones ordered everyone in the main pavilion where the older member and nurses injected the young with poisons and drank poisoned Kool Aid. That kind of thing is very extreme. It is uncommon and made the news.
The extreme cults are rare and have radical ideas and views. Wiggly’s cult is extreme and so is The Manson Family and The People’s Temple. They are all alike in the committing murder area of cult behavior. They also promised to be the ones safe from the world and would be left alive when the apocalypse would come. Wiggly’s cult ended in suicide as did The People’s Church. That is an extreme reaction to the situation that was going on and there were far better options that just were not taken. Manson and Linda were alike in that they would delegate the murdering to someone else. Linda and Jones are alike in that they did actually get their hands dirty. Linda’s cult may have been fictional and had some serious supernatural elements, but it still reflected actual cults behaviors even if those behaviors were extreme and part of the one percent of cults.

Independence council approves budget; retiree health insurance benefits hang in balance
INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – The future of health insurance for retirees who used to work for the City of Independence may not be known until this fall.
On Monday, the city council approved a budget that calls for changes to its retirement insurance plan.
But the council also unanimously passed a resolution for a special insurance advisory committee, in hopes of addressing concerns by those impacted.
Sandi and Dean Mosley are among some 1,500 former employees and spouses who believe the city is balancing its budget “on the back of retirees.”
“It’s going to cost us,” Sandi Mosley said. “We pay the city, our premium, $182.84. We will be paying almost $300 in premiums.”
“We have good insurance now, and we paid for it,” her husband added.
Dean worked for the water department for 30 years. The 73-year-old said he took pay cuts over the years to ensure him and his wife would be covered by the city’s insurance plan, known as Stay Well, long after retirement.
“If they drop us or drop the whole thing, then if I pass away, she has nothing,” he said.
The newly passed budget calls for cuts to retirement health insurance that will save the city an estimated $5 million annually.
Zach Walker, the city manager, wants retirees over the age of 65, along with their dependents, to move to a Medicare supplement plan and use the city’s insurance as a secondary source.
“Retirement health insurance is such a unique offering among public and private employers,” Walker said. “In fact, when we were doing our work on the budget, we found that only 18% of employers nationwide are offering retired health insurance in some form or fashion.”
Walker said tough decisions had to be made in order to make up for a $3.5 million deficit, without further cutting city jobs and services.
“I do understand the moral argument that people are making, so what we’re trying to do is find that sweet spot between providing responsible and comprehensive coverage for these retirees but also making sure we have the funding in place to provide the basic services that our citizens rely upon us for,” he said.
Walker said no one would lose their insurance.
“Business will continue as usual,” he said. “Coverage will remain the same for all city employees, all pre-65 retirees and all of our Medicare-eligible retirees.”
Walker is hoping that a Special Health Insurance Review Committee, authorized by the council to review Medicare plan options, will alleviate some concerns by those who opposed the city’s decision.
“We’ve had a lot of good conversations,” he said. “That committee will go and review options that are out on the marketplace, assess their coverage, the cost of those and eventually make recommendations.”
Kirk Stobart, president of Professional Firefighters of Independence Local 781, thinks the committee is a “sign of good faith.”
“It lets them have their time to look into the plan changes, see what’s best, what’s going to hurt and what’s not going to work and let the system work like it should,” Stobart said.
However, he said discussions surrounding the issue should’ve happened months ago.
“Most people come here for the benefits,” he said. “We’re not the highest paid. We’ve committed our entire lives, our careers and we felt like this was really an attack to take that away from us.”
The Mosleys warned that all employees – retired or not – should be worried.
“We’re all in this program together, so this will be a domino effect and it will affect them eventually,” Sandi Mosley said.
The SHIRC will consist of nine members: three representatives from Stay Well, three City Manager designees and three retirees. The committee have until October 14 to present its recommendations to the city council.

4 Insurance Rules That Will Guide You In All Your Protection Needs
There has been a growing demand for insurance products in terms of savings and investments, but the level of awareness regarding protection among Malaysians is surprisingly low. While many often take it for granted, it should be considered a household requirement as it could be your (or your family’s) knight in shining armour in times of need. Hence, here are the top 4 insurance facts you need to grasp before you turn away another insurance agent.
1. What are the types of insurance out there (and which do you need)?
Insurance is not a complicated product once you understand the concept. In summary, it is a contract between a policyholder (you) and an insurer. The main reason many sign up for insurance is to obtain financial aid to cover the costs associated with life’s unfortunate events such as death, disability or even, unexpected home repairs costs. The policy (your insurance) may reimburse or cover such costs immediately (these are called “claims”) encountered by the insured person during his or her policy term. The policyholder will have to pay a certain sum, known as a premium, to be insured with the coverage. The premium can be paid once a year, twice a year or even in monthly instalments. Additionally, there are investment-linked insurance plans (usually merged within a life policy) where a certain percentage of your premiums will be allocated to an investment fund, which can potentially help with your savings for the future. Sounds good? As good as they sound, not everyone needs every insurance policy available. Hence, it’s best you know the different types of policies out there before you sign up or build your protection portfolio. To make it easier for you to decide which policies to sign up for, we’ve also matched some personalities to an appropriate insurance portfolio. However, keep in mind that there is not one formula for deciding which you may or may not need – this depends solely on your lifestyle (which we will discuss later). [table id=1062 /] Now that you have the basic knowledge of insurance, let’s dive into the other details you must know.
2. There is an insurance policy for everyone
Sometimes individuals who already have a pre-existing medical condition will face a hard time in getting an insurance policy. However, these are often the people who need insurance more. For example, people who have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or high body mass index (BMI) are more susceptible to four critical illnesses (heart attack, stroke, cancer, and kidney failure). In view of the needs, there are some companies that offer plans (known as “high-risk policies”) specifically centred around such pre-existing conditions. One of the products that are available in the market is Allianz 3H Cover, which provides life protection designed specifically for people with high cholesterol, high blood pressure or high BMI. On top of that, it comes with an optional rider - 3H Critical Cover that will provide coverage up to RM200,000 upon diagnosis of the 4 critical illnesses which they are susceptible to. Other specialised insurance policies include Allianz Diabetic Essential, which is a medical plan developed for diabetics and takes into consideration the health complications which arise from their condition. It even allows you to enrol for a tailored care programme known as their Diabetes Care Programme by Advance Medical. These unique solutions also reward you when you take care of your health via premium discounts or improved coverage. So don’t lose hope! If you have any health conditions, you can still consult a qualified agent as they are able to match the most suitable protection plan for your specific needs.
3. Managing your policies for optimal coverage
Reviewing your insurance portfolio regularly is important, especially after every life cycle as your needs and situation may change over time. For example, if you have gotten married, you may want to update your life insurance with medical benefits as well as update the beneficiary of your policies to meet the needs of your growing family. Additionally, you can also update other insurance policies you may have, such as reviewing any new home appliances you might want to be insured under your home insurance plan. You can also update your policy with “riders”, which are extra benefits you can merge with your policy for optimal coverage – these riders can offer benefits such as critical illnesses, coverage against personal accidents and so forth. However, updating your policies isn’t just about upgrading your sum assured or adding on riders, it also includes reviewing your insurance portfolio annually to re-adjust minor details such as your personal details and more. Hence, here are some common things you should look out for when you review your policy:
4. The right insurance coverage can make a huge difference
The main reason for applying for insurance is for the coverage benefits. Alarmingly, 90% of the life-insured Malaysians are under-insured, which translates into inadequate protection for their family members should anything happen to the insured. Furthermore, the probability of Malaysians being underinsured was between 94% and 98% last year! This is dangerous territory as it means your family will not have enough to cope financially should anything happen to you – even the costs of your funeral could stretch between RM2,000 and RM150,000! Thus, having adequate protection is imperative as it means having enough for your family to cope in dire situations such as a critical illness, permanent disablement (which could leave you unemployed) and even, death.
So, how do you gauge your sum insured?
The sum insured refers to the limit your insurance policy will cover. For example, a RM100,000 sum insured for life insurance means your beneficiary will receive RM100,000 upon your death to help them cope with your loss. While you can’t calculate the exact costs of such unexpected situations, you can gauge roughly on how much you need by listing and answering questions like these. How do these questions help you? Here’s an example. Thus, Jack’s priority is his family, which means he should get a life insurance to ensure his family has a financial source to rely on if anything happens to him. From the details above, we can assume a sum insured of RM50,000 will not be enough for his family should anything happen to Jack, as this would only be half a year’s worth of income. Even a sum insured of RM100,000 would only last his family a little over a year as they would have to cope with expenses, such as household bills, expenses or any debt commitment he left behind. Furthermore, his family would need more time to get back on their feet, considering his wife would have to find a stable job. However, be careful not to over-insure yourself. This means you have signed up for an insurance policy (or policies) that is financially more than what you need or that it overlaps with another policy. Thus, you would be paying more than necessary. For example, Jack takes up an investment-linked insurance of RM200,000, when he already holds a life insurance policy of RM100,000. So, how much is enough? The best way to ensure you will have adequate protection with the proper sum insured is to speak to a qualified agent. Once they understand what your needs and expectations are, they would be able to recommend the right amount for your particular needs.
But, remember these quick tips
Consult an agent: An agent will be able to match your needs to the right policy. They will listen to your concerns and tailor your policy to ensure you have adequate protection according to your affordability. You can also get help from your agent when it is time to review your policy.
Understand your affordability: You could be paying more than you can afford if you are opting for a sum insured that is higher than your required amount. Conversely, paying the least possible amount to combat a large deduction on your earnings might leave you underinsured and without proper coverage should you get into an emergency. Thus, evaluate your affordability, how much you need and find a coverage that ensures your policy matches your list of priorities.
Read your policy: Make sure you take the time to read your policy, so you are aware of all the clauses and coverage that you are entitled to.
[caption id="attachment_34915" align="alignnone" width="800"] Allianz Needs Discovery tool[/caption] Should you wish to consult an agent, you may want to consider meeting with an Allianz Life agent as they have recently launched a Needs Discovery tool, an easy and interactive tool that provides a glance of your financial situation and identifies gaps in your insurance coverage. This tool puts you in mind, and help tailor make insurance solutions for you based on your needs and finances. On top of that, Allianz has also launched their ‘Allianz Discover A-Z Campaign’ where you can know more about the different insurance products and services in a fun and engaging way through the campaign microsite. Throughout your journey of discovery, you can also earn entries to a contest where you stand to win prizes like mobile phones, smart TVs, Fitbit activity trackers, shopping vouchers and more. AAA insurance will only pay body shop?
Hi there, My mom was rear ended by an uninsured motorist while driving my car. I have uninsured motorist coverage and AAA estimated the damage to be approximately $1000. I own my car (it's paid off) and I would rather buy the bumper and someone I know replace the bumper, rather than go to the body shop of AAA's choice. AAA does not want to give me a check and is saying they want to pay a body shop to do it. Can they do this? I looked at my policy and it doesn't say anywhere that repair costs are to be paid to a body shop, rather than the car owner or driver. I certainly don't have anything signed that says that and there is nothing in my policy details. Thanks for your help!""

Questions about car insurance?
I understand that I will need car insurance and when I do get my first car my insurance will be high (I'm 17). My parents don't drive, so I can't rely upon them. Tell me if I'm wrong and help me out... 1. So the big picture of car insurance is that if I get into an accident, the money I put for my car will be paid for with the money I put in? 2. Will car insurance cover anything I do with the car? (Such as swapping parts, oil change, etc.) 3. Why does insurance quotes matter? Doesn't the more you pay the better coverage you have? Why do you need to save money? Are they trying to make you pay less so you if your accident can't be paid fully, you will pay with some other type? 4. How much will insurance supposedly cost? My first part-time job will only pay approx. 30k a year, I don't know how much I'll lose. 5. Does the type of car affect how much I will pay? (Hopefully, but I will be getting a Scion FR-S automatic) 6. Which car insurance company is mostly recommended for teenagers? Thanks for your help!""

How much is Progressive auto insurance for one car?
I'm 18, almost 19 years old and I recently figured out that with American Family Insurance that my parents have for me, I'm actually paying like $40 more than everyone else in my family just because I'm a young male driver. I think that our current insurance company is total **** so I wanted to look up how much a different company would be (in this case progressive because it seems to be one of, if not the best insurance company out there). But I went to their website, and I couldn't find jack about how much car insurance would be with them. I saw stuff like discounts, information about bundling (or something like that), but not a goddamn thing about how much it would be to be insured by them. Can I sue my Car Insurance Broker?
I recently got into an accident. I was at fault. Rear-ended a guy, who rear-ended another car because of me. Was talking to my children in the backseat. Just bought a NEW car, a month ago, October 13. When we purchased the car, my Insurance Agent mentioned there was a problem with our insurance, that they needed to correspond with New Jersey Indemnity about some drivers that could be associated with my insurance. The Insurance Agent then called us back, said everything was okay, we purchased the car, and was able to drive it out from the dealership with our new insurance (full cover) on October 13. On October 16, the Broker made an appointment for an Insurance Inspection Report. We also paid an Endorsement to Insurance Company via our Insurance Agent. My accident was a month after the purchase of the car, November 12. Got our police report, went to our insurance Broker, they say that our policy was cancelled October 15, TWO DAYS after we purchased our new car. Please educated answers only. Can I sue my broker? What else can I do? I have children, would never drive without insurance...""

Driving without Insurance charge - I have Insurance?
A couple of weeks ago I got pulled over for an outdated sticker. When I handed the officer my insurance, it was last years paper (I cleaned out my purse the week before, I obviously took the wrong paper out). He gave me a ticked for the outdated sticker and a court summons for driving without insurance. He told me that if I brought proof of insurance to the station, he would cancel the court date (proof I had insurance before that date). So I brought the paperwork to the station, had another office photocopy it and leave it for him but I haven't heard anything. I don't want to assume that it's been dropped without having been told it is. Should I show up to court on the date just in case? What can I expect if I do? BTW I live in Ontario if that helps.""

My daughters car insurance has more than doubled because she got 9 penalty points in the last year. she wants ?
me to get insurance on her car and then get her put on that insurance. if she gets more points while she is under my insurance would that affect the price of the insurance on my own cars or would only if she caused an accident make my insurance go up. i could get a years insurance on her car for less than the price of 1 monthly installment she would have to pay for her own insurance. what do you think. if she gets 3 more points she will be disqualified from driving . if that happened while she was on my insurance would that put my insurance prices up even though she would be off my insurance if she did get disqualified. what i have wrote might not make sense. i want to know if i do this for her and she gets disqualified while being on my insurance would that put my insurance prices up for all my cars or what or would it only effect my insurance if she causes an accident. while shes on my insurance. * 41 minutes ago * - 3 days left to answer. Additional Details 40 minutes ago we live in the UK. sorry this is very long i found it hard to write what i was really trying to ask. 33 minutes ago i know if she causes an accident while she is on my insurance ot would effect how much my insurance costs but if she was to get disqualified while she is on my insurance would that effect me inurances oin anyway. if she gets disqualified then she wont be on my insurance anymore. 14 minutes ago only 3 of her penalty points are for speeding. she told me the other 6 points are because there was a mix up with her insurance last time and she was uninured for 4 days and was caught by the police. she got 6 points for that in court a few months ago. she said she that she had phoned them and accepted the policy they sent her to renew it and thought it would continue automatically but she hadnt been to the office to sign for it so she got caught for that. she was only uninsured for 4 days because of her mistake that time. sorry if you already answerd this but i put it on US yahoo answers by a mistake and it didnt show up in UK yahoo answers so i needed answers from people who knows about car insurance in the UK

The manager is relocating and has been offered a full-time job at their main office (with what I am assuming is a decent raise) about 4 hours away. I am being offered a possible part-time job at a lesser position some 3 hours away - there is no garantee. Well, I have kids so there's no way I'm doing that for a measly part-time position with no benefits. I will be without a job as of May 31st. Our part-time workers will be finding out about the closure on May 1st. For those employees that would like to stay through until the end, they will be offered a monetary bonus or compensation. I doubt it's more than a few hundred dollars. If I cannot find another full time job by then, would I most likely be eligible for unemployment? If I take the bonus money at the end, does that mean I wouldn't qualify? What kinds of questions should I be asking before this happens? State farm car insurance question?
My bf was in an accident recently where he was rear ended at a stop light. The other driver was ticketed and no one is contesting the fact that the other driver is at fault. My bf decided to go through the other driver's insurance (state farm) rather than his own so that he wouldn't have to pay a deductible. He needs about $600 worth of body work done. After going through all the hoops, he was told to take the car to a local body shop & that he would be approved for a rental car while it was being repaired. Today, he took the car to the shop, but they told him they won't take it until March 21st (about 3 weeks from now). Until then, they expect him to drive his DAMAGED car. He drives long distances pretty frequently (usually visits me an hour and a half away every week or two) and neither of us are comfortable with the idea of him getting on the interstate in a damaged car. What recourse does he have in this situation? It seems pretty unfair that the accident was someone else's fault entirely and he is going to be stuck waiting almost a month to be put whole again :( I suggested that he call state farm and let them know that he's not satisfied with their solution, but he doesn't think it will get him anywhere. Why do we have to pay car insurance for other people's cars?
As I understand it, the car insurance we pay is to fix other cars and their drivers in case we hit them. I don't understand why the law requires that we must pay for others' protection. Why shouldn't everybody pay for his own protection? If car insurance is required for everyone, then it would make no difference anyway, and I think, it would make people more motivated to get insurance. For example, if I pay $150/mo for car insurance, and if someone hits me who has no insurance and no money, then my car will look terribly even though I kept the law. This doesn't sound fair to me. If someone hits me, then their insurance should cover their damages and my insurance should pay for my damages. Why should I suffer a loss because they didn't keep the law?""

They sued for an insane amount of money, but it wasn't our fault completely, so our home insurance and their health insurance settled out of court for a lot less. Still, the settlement was expensive, and our home insurance didn't like covering a 6-digit figure claim because of the dog so they dropped us. Since then, all home insurance companies don't want to cover us, even if we don't have a dog , this information is by my father who doesn't like the dog already. There is only one house insurance that will cover us, according to my father, but they will only cover us if we don't have a dog, and even then they will charge 4 times as much. I'm not old enough to completely understand how insurance and claims and contracts work, but I'm just trying to save my dog, because my father is going to put him to sleep by the end of this month. I just need a good starting point or phone numbers that could maybe discredit what my father has been saying, or anything that could help. We live in Southern California. Apparently Akitas are listed as vicious, but at the age of 10, he's old enough to be mellow, but still too young to put to sleep. Any help would be appreciated.""

Court Finds Severance of Divorce Would Not Result in Disadvantage for Ex-Husband Who Will Lose Health Benefits
/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/steve-johnson-582007-unsplash-min.jpg An Ontario court recently ruled on a motion filed by a wife who wanted to sever her claim for divorce from her claims for collateral remedies. The husband in question opposed the motion, arguing that he would no longer receive medical benefits from the wife’s insurer once they were divorced and wanting all outstanding issues between the parties to be addressed at the same time.
What Happened?
The parties began living together in 1998. They were married three years later and had one child (a son born in 2010). The parties ultimately separated in 2015. They live separate and apart but share parenting of their son on a 50/50 basis. In June 2016, the wife filed for divorce, custody of the son, equalization of net family property, sale of family property, and costs. The parties signed a Separation Agreement settling all outstanding financial issues between them in July 2017. The Agreement released both parties from their spousal support obligations, but provided that:
6.1 Tara and George will maintain their respective medical, extended health and dental coverage through her employment for George and Mitchell for as long as it is available to her for (their benefit)… … 11.6 On Execution of this Agreement, Tara may move to obtain a divorce on an uncontested basis. Either George will withdraw his Answer or Tara will make a motion to have the divorce severed from the corollary issues. This paragraph may be relied upon if Tara needs to bring such a motion. The divorce will proceed on an uncontested basis.
Following the execution of the agreement, the only outstanding issues between the parties were the divorce and parenting matters. The parties attended a Case Conference in December 2017 where they agreed that they would settle the remaining parenting issues through counselling and mediation. The wife requested an order severing her divorce claim, but the husband opposed the request arguing that, once they were divorced, he would no longer be eligible for medical coverage under the wife’s group benefits plan at work. The parties were ordered to exchange information about how a divorce would affect the husband’s coverage under the wife’s insurance benefits, and what costs the husband would incur if he had to obtain comparable coverage for himself.
The Evidence
Both the husband and the wife are employed, part-time, with the same employer and have health benefits for themselves and their son. However, since the wife earns more the value of her benefits coverage is greater than the value of the husband’s benefits coverage and cover medical, dental and travel benefits for the spouses and medical and travel benefits for the son. The husband’s benefits cover some of the son’s dental costs. The wife’s lawyer provided information that once the parties were divorced, the husband would no longer be covered under the wife’s benefits. The lawyer also notified the husband that the wife was prepared to maintain coverage for the won on her benefits, and that the husband would therefore only need to find coverage for himself. The lawyer requested information about the costs of such coverage. The husband failed to provide the requested information. Instead, he wrote an email to the wife pointing out that, per the terms of the Separation Agreement, she was required to maintain his coverage for as long as she herself had coverage. He also noted that he was in the midst of looking for a new job and might not have coverage for the first 3-6 months of new employment. The wife filed her motion in January 2018 requesting severance of her divorce claim, and costs.
The Law
Rule 12(6) of the Family Law Rules states that splitting a divorce from other issues can be ordered if:
Neither spouse will be disadvantaged by the order; and
Reasonable arrangements have been made for the support of any children of the marriage.
“Disadvantaged” was explored in an earlier decision in which a judge noted:
[27] In my view, the word “disadvantaged”, as used in rule 12(6)(a), must mean legal disadvantage that the responding party may suffer if severance is granted. It must mean more than simply allowing the divorce to be withheld or delayed as a form of leverage for other issues that can be pursued separately.
When a court makes a decision about severance, it must specify the particular legal disadvantage that the other party would suffer if the divorce was severed. In another earlier decision, the court granted a wife leave to appeal the severance of her divorce as she would be disentitled to spousal benefits, noting:
The appellant wife is in limbo. She has no spousal benefits and if the husband dies, she will have nothing by way of survivor benefits. She has been denied the interim award she sought and is appealing. The trial of her issue as to corollary relief is yet to be held.
On the subsequent appeal, the Court of Appeal noted that summary judgment for divorce should not be granted where it would result in the other spouse losing benefits such as health insurance coverage prior to the determination of the corollary relief issues. In a previous decision, the court refused leave to appeal from the motion’s judge’s refusal to sever the husband’s claim for divorce. The motions judge gave reasons, with specific reference to Rule 12(6) and identified the particular legal disadvantage that would befall the wife if the severance was granted. Specifically, her entitlement to a share of the husband’s estate would terminate. In that case, the court noted that the judge had placed no weight on the impact that a divorce might have on the wife’s coverage under the husband’s insurance policies and noted that this is a fact-specific exercise:
The weight that the court, in the exercise of its discretion under Rule 12(6), gives to the loss of insurance coverage as a potential disadvantage that the other spouse may suffer as a result of the early severing of the claim for divorce depends on the evidence in the particular case.
The Decision
The court noted that, in the case at hand, since the husband had waived his claim to spousal support in the Separation Agreement, the only collateral issue that remained outstanding was the husband’s claim for child support. The court went on to say that severance of the divorce would not cause a legal disadvantage to the husband with respect to that claim because the wife had consented to an order that required her to maintain medical and dental coverage for the son and to pay for any such expenses not covered by her insurance. The court recognized that a divorce would result in the husband losing coverage under the wife’s benefits. However, while this would result in a financial loss for the husband, the court noted that “this is not the type of disadvantage that Rule 12(6) is intended to prevent. Delaying a divorce would only be legally justified be in a situation where allowing the divorce claim to be dealt with earlier than the other issues would negatively impact the husband’s claim for other remedies or would impact an order requiring the wife to contribute to the son’s expenses. In such instance, fairness would require all claims to be addressed at the same time. In the particular circumstances, however, the severance of the divorce claim would not result in any legal disadvantage to the husband and must be granted. Looking to Diversify and Get Consistent Dividends? 2 Possibilities
Investors might have much of their wealth in various stocks and assorted mutual funds, but this doesn’t mean they’re really diversified. Plenty of investors think they’ve diversified their holdings when, in reality, they haven’t. These investors are often only diversified in a single asset class, such as domestic or international equity.
SEE ALSO: How to Strike It Rich: Investing in Real Estate
As we saw in 2008, having too much wealth in a single asset class can lead to major losses during a market downturn since all of the investor’s proverbial eggs are in one basket. Too many investors find out too late that their holdings simply aren’t as diversified as they thought.
Avoiding Stock Volatility Can Pay Dividends
To avoid this, investors should consider tweaking their retirement plans to incorporate different diversification strategies as they look to fund their retirements. Investors who are looking to avoid the more volatile sectors, which is certainly not a bad strategy as they approach retirement or have already retired, may want to consider asset sectors that are not correlated with the stock market.
There are plenty of investment opportunities off the beaten path, and some of them produce dividends. If investors choose to go this route, they could find a generally reliable source of dividend-producing investments with privately held companies. Contrary to some commonly held beliefs, there are plenty of investment opportunities in private offerings that provide dividends while helping cautious investors avoid the volatility of the stock market.

One Choice: Multifamily Real Estate Companies
Take investing in multifamily real estate companies, for example. This sector continues to see solid growth across the country, which may be because Baby Boomers and Millennials increasingly are choosing apartments and resort-style options for their living needs. There are plenty of reasons for the continued growth in this sector. As they start their careers with a flurry of job hopping, including changing locations if needed, Millennials want the freedom to go where they want, when they want. They certainly don’t want to be tied down with a mortgage, and so they avoid buying homes. All of this makes Millennials good customers for multifamily housing.
On the other end of the spectrum, with their mortgages paid off and retirement either a reality or just around the corner, many Baby Boomers now prefer the conveniences of pools, dog parks, fitness centers and the other perks that are increasingly common in multifamily complexes. Plenty of older Americans are finding that to be a better option than homeownership.
With more Americans preferring living in apartment communities, multifamily real estate continues to be resilient for investors. Many privately held companies operating in this sector continue to offer dividends. Investors looking for opportunities that can provide security and dividends may want to take advantage of this sector’s continued growth.
Another Option: Storage Companies
Storage companies also remain a good opportunity for many investors who prefer less volatile options while still wanting dividends. Even in the worst of economic downturns, privately held storage companies have proved resilient. As we saw in the 2008 downturn, people are far more likely to pay their storage bills than their mortgages. It’s a far less costly expense and one that’s more likely to be paid. Simply put, people always want their belongings to be secure. With a constant base of customers and generally little in the way of overhead, storage companies, many of which are privately held, continue to grow and show no signs of going away no matter how the stock market is doing. Many storage companies provide investors dividends on a consistent basis. Like multifamily housing, privately held storage companies are a generally safe but often profitable investment.

Private offerings also offer investment opportunities in other sectors: health care, data and even energy, for example. Several companies in these areas have established track records in recent years in providing dividends to investors. While they often provide stability, these kind of investments provide a good chance for growth — many of them offering distributions or dividends of 5% to 8% — which investors can use to accumulate funds for years to come.
For the most part, these privately offered dividend-focused investments are in sectors that are more conservatively managed. There isn’t as much volatility in some of these areas as there is in stocks and other investments tied to the global economy. When there’s a Brexit or another overseas issue, many domestic, privately held investments, such as storage, simply aren’t affected as much.
For investors who want to find a consistent source of dividends without encountering high volatility, these kinds of privately held investments often provide an excellent option. Investors planning to diversify their holdings should, at the very least, consider them.
