Hi! Little update on the Quizlet-like app, henceforth known and tagged as Innaflash. (One of my friend's ideas, and I'm a sucker for puns :) )
Tl;dr of below is i'd like opinions on the UI mockup so far, maybe some alternative color theme ideas.
No coding has happened yet, but I started making a UI mockup to get the brain juices going and also bc i just love messing around with color themes and graphic design, hee hee. I think I'm going with a webcore theme. Default will be purple, but there will be the option to change the theme (i already have the code for this so it's easy to implement). A couple images are above, I'd like to hear what you all think :)
Chill day of programming. I started on a new Android project where I would create a simple notes app. The objective of this project is to become familiar with themes, UI building, and also concepts like recycler view, and how to implement databases into the app.
Ok turns out if you don’t practice your problem solving skills often there is a 100% chance your brain will regress to the state of your 6 year old self and you will forget how to solve the most basic problems.
Strange set of circumstances on my current project, all the experienced developers keep coming in over estimate, while the rookies are all going under. I wonder what causes it?
(The experienced developers keep having to clean up after the rookies)
did a really quick doodle for an outfit challenge !! it's java ^_^ ( @aethersleftearring you should totally draw striker in that outfit too.. they can match)
Hmm, most of the troubleshooting I do is weird architecture issues that won't impact anyone running Debian for x64 but off the top of my head
If you know exactly what package you want, command line package manager use is just fine, but GUI frontends are pretty nice for searching through things if you want to actually read some details on what you're installing. Yeah you can just use debian's web-based apt stuff but it's not convenient to do that. Using a frontend is convenient.
This is non-debian-specific advice but most of the time if I need to do something more complex than like, crop an image or maybe put a color filter on it, I just use photopea because it being online means it works on just about anything. It's not quite as advanced as Photoshop but most of the capabilities it lacks are rather small and niche, as opposed to like "You can't do outlined text" (thanks GIMP) (Also you can run whatever image editor in wine if you want and if you have a better computer than I currently do (rip to my good one) it's worth giving a go. Sometimes you need to do some config but lovely linux users on the internet will often give you the exact settings you need to get the program working :))
MComix is a good CBZ viewer
If you install imagemagick, it may change or mess up your settings for default image viewer. imagemagick is a divine and beautiful program but its image viewer totally sucks so change it back if it does this.
This is mostly fairly specific huh.... Most of the time my computer Just Works for me. I can do troubleshooting for a great many issues but generalized advice is a little harder X'D
Thinking about making a free quizlet alternative in java, I'd like suggestions on modes to add. Maybe I'll put it on github or something if I end up with a usable product so others can use it? (More details under cut)
Using quizlet for the first time in awhile and DAMN it sucks. Not only was the whole UI changed and made worse/ more corporate, EVERYTHING requires a membership now??? The asteroid mode (my favorite </3) was either removed or made pay only. Literally scrapping what i can thats free to study. Ik i can get a free trial but its about the principal.
ANYWAY. I've been building a java library that builds off FX (graphics library) that has made making programs w/ graphics quicker and easier. Plus, I already made a typing game similar to the asteroid mode in high school. Basically everything would be super easy to code I think, once I have the time.
Very chaotic coding day — I started off by trying to complete a discord bot but then I realised that a lot of information online are outdated and that I had to read the docs in order to get the correct information. But whenever I try to read a documentation I zone out—
Well. Someday I will.
I decided to recode my unfinished Calculator App project because the first one died (don't ask me how idk either) so that was fun.
Hoping to get some more of the project done tomorrow !!
i am doing great! currently piled on with a project that's due by the end of the week so i haven't been able to do any writing as of late. but we've been persevering and its going quite well i must say! :D which is great because i struggle a lot with this project.
hope you are doing good too anon! hope you have a wonderful day and remember to stay hydrated! ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა
