I think the reason people are upset about having to filter missing eyes is that in real life if someone has a missing eye and isn't wearing a prosthetic then their eye socket is gonna be visible, and being told to filter characters with visible, detailed eye sockets feels a little too reminiscent of how people act like your appearance is disturbing and needs content warnings when you have a facial difference

short answer is... in universe, it's not clear either! the general consensus is nope! he doesn't know.

and the longer ("word of god") answer is... a chatty informal loredump/thoughts under the cut lmao

(disclaimer: i am not an entomologist nor a biologist so if any of this sounds weird please understand im just generally enthusiastic about bugs and am drawing on my knowledge of random animal facts to loosely worldbuild for fun 👍! plus i like taking creative liberties lol)

Specific patterns and coloration varies, but Praxian Enforcers are generally characterised by colour (black/white, with a little blue and red) as well as their loud sirens and flashing lights. The combination of doorwing-elytra and chevrons is also an overall species indicator. Also, the markings on their doorwings/elytra are kind of meant to act like the eyespots that some moths have :]!

Jazz' mimicry isn't intended to hold up to intense scrutiny- it's mostly just to dissuade/scare other cybugs and predators from messing with him at a glance. He lacks the chevron and lights, which is a dead giveaway for him NOT being a Praxian Enforcer. He can however make siren like sounds, and has enough similar traits that would trip Prowl up into viewing him as an Enforcer.

Prowl probably knows that Jazz isn't a fellow Enforcer (he's a smart cookie!) but he also continues to act as if Jazz is one because of warring protocol and instincts. Logically Prowl knows this isn't true, but Jazz still FEELS like one of his cohort, yknow?

There's also a certain element of "cheetah and emotional support dog" to the way they work imo. Without a colony to defend and protect, Prowl would be a lil lost, so he kinda latched onto Jazz for that reason too. I like to imagine that usually Enforcers work in lil sets of 2-3 to defend colonies, so he was also probably a bit lonely at the time :(( I kinda imagine that he treats Jazz as another Enforcer (albeit a particularly unruly one) and ALSO as another member of the colony to look after/protect. It's a confusing time for all involved.

Now they have The Grub though :] Which... probably just complicates things further LOLOL

(Also! something I wanted to mention in the original notes was that this mimicry came about specifically to offset certain subspecies' generally easygoing/lax attitudes [which puts them at risk of predation and capture] but I ran out of room lol)

In the beginning, yes, G was a trooper and very starry-eyed and wanted to change the industry and use their platform for good but now not really. G is jaded and finds it all pointless and doesn't really try anymore beyond throwing money at a charity and calling it a day unfortunately

Thank you. A part of me wishes for the entire world to be affected by my weird and unsettling comics, but that's some highfalutin' thinkin' that gets me stuck when it obviously doesn't or won't (setting aside the meme). But to know it does reach out to someone, or many someones, is encouraging. When I wonder if this is worth it still ("this" being comics online, in particular), these reminders make it feel so. "Wow."

The new Falcon’s smile makes your heart give an unexpected jump as he strolls towards you, hands casually clasped in front of his chest as he takes in the scene in front of him.

"Sam called me in for backup but it looks like you got it all under control." What’s that in his voice? Admiration or just amusement? Either way, he doesn’t look surprised at all, and you decide you like him.

"Just about," you reply lightly, glancing at the unconscious men at your feet. One of them is bleeding from a laceration to his temple; your boots would never forgive you for this mission. You hold out your hand. "Joaquín, right?"

There it is, now, a twinkle of quiet yet pleasant perplexity. "That’s right."

His fingers are cool and calloused around yours. It makes you shiver ever so slightly.

"Cap’s told me a lot about you," you say, tilting your head. Up close, his grin is even prettier. A curl of dark hair falls loosely across his forehead.

"Me too," he replies, clearing his throat. "I mean, he told me about you. I guess I didn’t expect …"

It doesn’t escape your notice that he doesn’t let go of your hand as his eyes flit down the length of you before quickly returning to your face. You wonder what shade he’d blush if you took another step closer.

"Don’t flirt with him," Sam warns through the comm piece in your ear and you laugh.

"So," you say, stepping over the bodies towards Joaquín, "what do you do when you don’t dashingly rush in to save hapless young agents?"

His cheeks do darken ever so slightly as he scratches his neck. "Don’t think you needed much saving."

You hum in agreement. "But you did rush in dashingly."

He huffs, still looking at you like you’re some fascinating riddle he wants to solve. You’re not opposed to letting him try. "Are you hungry?" he asks, and a smile grows on your own face.

"Starving."

"Jesus Christ," Sam sighs in your ear, "there’s two of them now."

Hii! I just wanted to ask what program you’re using and how do you practice drawing anatomy? ^^

I usually use Clip Studio Paint EX, for regular art & animation! Sometimes I draw on magma.com too (free website where you can draw with others), their brushes are pretty good! As for anatomy practice, I recommend combining references with this pose search that comes with a 3d model so you can understand all the different perspectives of parts of the body! I also really love referencing poses from bayboyzone's art but I don't tend to post those; they're sincerely amazing at drawing characters interacting closely with each other!

i think the funniest thing about the cybugs posting is that whenever you mimic tumblr posts i instinctively go to read them like you would on actual real world tumblr as multiple separate posts in succussion. which is bottom to top. you absolutely should NOT stop doing them top to bottom bc of this it's better for all around readability but it's funny that i'm so tumblr brained i started reading an image from the bottom.

listen i was SO tempted to do exactly that when making them because SAME ehfjfhdkgbek

i think i decided against it specifically because there was only one image that would be affected and thus for General Readability reasons i did it top to bottom but. i feel you.
