i love bratz as dolls but i fuckin hate mga as a brand. fuckin idiots
#u make it so hard for me to play with my dollies. evil!!#tales from diana#i am like honestly thinking about how many stupid decisions that brand has made in the past year and like#the fact that they have the gall to be snide about their fans' complaints in a little spotify wrapped meme#girl...#U KEEP BEING STUPID!!!!!#i miss the energy they had like 2 years ago#even their repros recently have been getting so obviously worse#who the hell was asking for more babyz. who was doing that?#like if anything bratz babyz were like a kitsch embarrassing piece of toy history to remind ppl#that yeah even though theyre like a millennial girly twitter meme now. bratz was once unambiguously a brand for kids#and they made stupid toys for kids including but not limited to cunty little baby dolls#not to hate on them for existing at the time. hell i even had them as a kid but i didnt like them as much as the real bratz#and the way they did a poll on which line they should reproduce next and tokyo a go go won and they went and made slumber party anyway#probably because it was cheaper i assume!!! and it's like so silly bc like if youre an adult collector brand now... why do you think#that we want dolls in pajamas? theyre cute but that's not as fun to display as like legitimate fashion pieces#and all their legit collector releases being an asbolute mess#kylie being overstocked and flopping and then the manufactured scarcity for the mean girls and karol g releases#that were all bought up by scalpers in 2 seconds and sold on ebay for several times the original price#but mga doesnt care bc it's like oh we can say 'we sold out' 💅 yeah idiots because of BOTS u did nothing to circumvent#all this and their new dolls arent even as good as their old ones. like alwayz bratz... i was really happy for it but i gotta be so for rea#they're fine. they're cute. but they are NOT on the quality of 2000s bratz at all. theyre so obviously cheaper#and we don't even get the second outfits anymore which was such a staple of the fashion mixing-and-matching originally#it's not even the same brand anymore but they wanna act like they're the hottest shit in the world. best thing to ever happen to dolls#oh please. u will never be barbie. u can't put us through all this and expect endless fawning and support#i just wish the secondhand market for bratz were any better but it's actually worse. so. yaaaaaay

back from the barbie movie and I certainly have Thoughts on what the movie was doing but overall I do think it's worth seeing! it's fun
#☢️.txt#spoilers in tags!#i think what they did with ken is actually really fascinating and while i do get why the movie doesnt focus on his motivations#or the fantasy politics of barbieland#i AM personally interested in them#like his frustration is coming from a legitimate place and the movie does acknowledge that both barbie (margot) and the barbies overall were#Not In The Right and its not the actual solution to the issue of feminism#in the same way that the movie acknowledged that barbie didnt solve feminism and in many cases ended up playing into#the very ideas that prevent women from pursuing the jobs barbie is often shown in#im sure ppl will critique the movie for not going far enough but like. i dont think their point was to make a massive statement?#so much as it was to make a campy blockbuster that gently acknowledges the ways people can so often feel left out#its not the feminist piece of a generation so much as it is a love letter to barbie that acknowledges how shes#an inherently flawed consumerist brand. but one thats deeply cherished by generations and has left a massive pink stamp on our culture#(its probably worth noting that i have generally positive memories of barbie)#(despite being a weird fat kid i never personally felt alienated by barbie and my memories are extremely fond)#(i didnt like baby dolls bc. i never have liked kids but barbie was a fantasy in sparkly dresses)#(she was married to my dinosaur toys. ive always known what im about yes)#my favorite barbies were swan lake a halloween witch barbie and a halloween ghost barbie#(also idk is this an autistic thing for me to only learn most young girls compared their bodies to barbie at like 14?)#(like it just never dawned on me to compare my looks to a toy tbqh. i was more upset by the actual lack of clothing in my size)

Happy meal toy themes from 2001 ranked most to least gay. 1. The mist gay to theme has to be tiger techno action toys from April of 2001. I had like 3 of the dinosaurs. They were a perfect combination of things children were expected to like, like dinosaurs, ferbys, dogs, the ocean, and robots. Every little girls dream if she wanted to enter a stem field. And if u were a gay kid that's what u wanted to do. They are diverse, tap into the niche market of treating girls like they can do math, and they were pretty cool imo. 2. The second most gay is emperors new groove. I think it got little gay girls thinking about marrying for money instead of love which i fully support. I got the alligator every time which, while unfortunate, establishes the fact wlw like reptiles. Also kusko looks femme and dresses fly and I had a crush on every girl he ever turned down so like, gay. 3. Robo-chi. OMG I treated these like actual toys I loved and cherished all my robot cats. Everyone ways got cats and the cats came with fish like can you get a less obviously gay toy? No. Also the two cat toys I had the most of were purple which is clearly a gay color. 4. Animal alley was like higher quality mcd beanie babies. The feature a bear wearing a bow tie which is classic butch fashion and a pink unicorn with purple ribbon choker which is classic millennial femme fashion. They also have frogs and everyone knows a wlw who was obsessed with frogs as a child. 5. Hello kitty. It taps into the wlw and cats bond. It also featured the clearly butch lesbian black bird. The key chains also had 1 hello kitty wearing plaid, one playing tennis, and one wearing a purple hair bow all of which r things gay girls enjoy. They arent higher bc str8 girls loved hello kitty too and u probably saw lots of str8 first graders with these on their backpack. 6. Buzz light year toys! So space is gay, we all know that. They have a blue alien girl which we all probably wanted and would have cherished. Also I only got the villain and while hes purple and wears a dress and cape (Very Gay Chic) hes also the villain which us why this set is so low. Clearly a homophobic toy set since the girl alien Didnt have the villains fashion sense. 7. Atlantis. It features the 3 hottest female figures in any early 2000s movie driving cars. How gay. Audrey is clearly the butch role model of our dreams. Kida the femme. Also you could get a crystal just like kidas and gays love their rocks. Its low on the list bc I never got a crystal and it also has a lot of ugly dudes in motor vehicles too. 8. Halloween pails- Halloween is a gay staple and the best holiday. It features bat handles which is every gay goths fave animal. Its low bc u know str8 kids went trick or treating with them too which means str8 kids were getting the same amount of candy which means these r homophobic. 9. Hot wheels. We never actually got these bc we got barbies instead but we always stole them from our brothers who Didnt mind BC they all had 100 other ones already. They had trucks - lesbian staple in the car world, classic red cars- bi staple in the car world, and cars with flames- pan staple in the car world. Why didntbthey give these to girls again??? 10. Barbie. The nutcracker had come out so we could all get the fairy princess and prince set but they also had pop stars, doctors, and McDonald's employee dolls. I always got the fairy with purple plastic wings which is super gay. But also achieving your feminist dreams and being a doctor or popstar is gay too. Also gay girls work at McDonald's so. The token str8 toys r the action man figures which r too generic aggressively masculine to be gay.
