1. Zack’s stupid awful revised death scene where he does the dumb speech and it completely flies in the face of the original game’s message and intent and everything. I hate it so goddamn much and the fact that the fanbase absolutely loves it infuriates me even further. Come on guys, it wasn’t good even as a stand-alone scene. 

2. Genesis Did Nibelheim.

3. The bit about five hours in where Angeal starts talking about angel wings and you get this awful feeling in your gut that this game might be bad and it all goes downhill from there. (I’D LIKE TO POINT OUT THE ORIGINAL GAME DID NOT UTTER THE WORDS “ANGEL” ANYWHERE IN THE SCRIPT AT ANY POINT AND THAT ANY AND ALL WRITERS SHOULD BE BANNED FROM DOING THIS UNLESS THEY ARE LITERALLY ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT REAL ANGELS THAT ARE IN THE ROOM AND ARE MESSENGERS OF GOD OR WHATEVER, OKAY THANKS)

4. The bit where Cloud uses cheat codes to max out his social link with Zack over the span of a single conversation and they establish that Zack is now willing to DIE FOR CLOUD after a forty-nine second cutscene, and we never get anything after that establishing anything about their relationship. For the longest time I thought the whole “Spike” thing was at the very least part of the game, but that was fanon too. They establish nothing. Nothing. This relationship was a huge fucking deal and pretty much kicked off the events of the main game and you did nothing with it. 

5. The bit where we establish literally everything Aeris has ever done in her life, from selling flowers to wearing pink to having a ribbon, was all because Zack told her to, and then she pines after him for five years because ?????.
