Flora was pretty visibly shaken after losing her best friend, so that night, while she was sitting alone processing, Fanaedar sent over a dancing light in the form of a butterfly to try to "subtly" comfort her... and then promptly attempted to disguise that it was him who did it

so, turns out Radar has an alter ego, Decay, locked away in his head who somehow, through some weird mental connection we don’t fully understand yet and crazy feywild magic, is shifting the power balance and affecting Fanaedar

A little moment from a few sessions ago where Flora was checking on Fanaedar's eye discoloration to try and tell if the feywild-magic-stealing fey soul he's helping keep in a mental prison has been able to get more control

the druid, Zenny, has been teaching Flora (my pc) sign language since we’re both traveling with a mostly mute npc and dealing with a super deadly mushroom that can suppress your ability to speak

one of the npcs that has been guiding our party through the underdark has something up with eye contact..... here’s a look at what Flora saw when she looked him in the eye

#and yes I looked at this guy and immediately made heart eyes I love him #dnd #ttrpg #dungeons and dragons #dnd pc #artificer #ranger #flora sweetie i'm so sorry for what falling in love with this man is gonna put you through #flora #fanaedar #fanora #no this moment was not romantic #in fact she was being stubborn and refusing to leave kro behind (see last post)#and broke her 'dont look fan in the eyes because he deserves to be able to let his guard down around someone' oath to herself #(basically he and whoever looks in his eyes are forced to see horrific visions and he doesn't wanna inflict that on himself or anyone else #so he just never makes eye contact)#flora had been keeping her own gaze down so he could relax and not have to be so vigilant about it so he got in the habit of looking at her #and when she was being stubborn about not leaving Kro behind she got pushy and looked him in the face #and since he was used to looking at her they made eye contact #thus leading to the above and flora feeling super guilty lmao

flora keeps getting charmed - in this instance by a beholder - and she tried to convince Fanaedar to stop fighting by standing in front of his bow
