I also think he's smart, but more so, he's good at memorizing and regurgitating information. He usually isn't the one to make actual connections. My personal least favorite thing about SRIV is how they handled Johnny Gat tbh. He's my favorite of the core side characters up through three, but in four he's just... kind of obnoxious. I would've thought it would be cool if the aliens had brought him back to try and infiltrate the gang, and then he turns back to their side when he realizes how much the Boss and the others really do care about him and didn't forget about him, but the whole "Wow! Look at Johnny Gat! He should be the real leader of the saints!" bit that carried over into GooH was just unfunny at best and outright meanspirited at worst. We've had three games up to this point that've established why Johnny isn't the leader of the gang and respects the Boss as a person. I know his character isn't exactly the deepest well in the universe but there was something interesting in that dynamic, where despite his capability for violence and charm he wasn't suited to actually leading the gang. Why ruin that for jokes that just didn't land. But that's just my personal take on it, obviously others are allowed to feel differently!

i think you’re onto something and it’s not just a johnny issue, it’s a larger problem of the actual handling of all the characters in sriv. johnny gets it pretty bad tho. we get the most banal, surface level introspections on characters who have had 2-3 games by now to have gotten this exploration. the idea of simulations is reflecting their fears/regrets/etc is a good idea when done well, but the game can’t even be bothered to give everyone that much. pierce, kinzie. i’m so sorry.

and what you bring up about johnny i 100% agree with—the game feels more concerned w being quippy and referential and painfully unfunny rather than like. giving us any of the apparent reflection it wants to give. you’re right, johnny isn’t better equipped to handle things than the boss, and i think it’d actually be interesting if there was conflict related to that. the boss got them into this mess, and if others think johnny would be better whereas johnny doesn’t feel that way or is unsure, it could’ve made for interesting, long-lasting tension. or even the idea you brought up w him being primed and used as a mole could’ve been fascinating. in the original drafts of sriv, it was gonna have (a clone of) johnny be the antagonist. and while i don’t think that route would’ve been…..ideal, i do think setting up johnny and the boss against each other makes for engaging conflict. ofc it would be resolved bc we know johnny respects and cares for the boss immensely, and instead of just bad jokes about it we could have the space to show and explore that connection. sr2 works so well for the boss and johnny’s dynamic bc we really see that love come into play w the lengths they’re willing to go to for each other.

it’s why the idea of undercover w there being an actual schism within the saints is interesting. why the conflict between pierce and shaundi in srtt is one of its strongest points. why dex and troy have one of the most interesting dynamics. why the reboot’s “power of friendship” angle fell flat for me. bc saints row’s cast works best when there’s conflict between them that means something. instead of just wasting it on bad jokes and problems that get resolved by the time the cutscene is over.

maybe i got away from the original point but. yeah. johnny deserved better in that game. also imo i do still think the boss is the worst written character of sriv. but i think i’ve talked about that before so i won’t repeat myself. but everyone got it bad. at least sriv let us kiss johnny gat tho right😭

Swap would probably be a Inkling, but he’s from the swap universe so that would mean the way Inkling and Octolings act would also be swapped. So he would most likely appear as a Inkling, as that would be the most common species found at Black Mesa (due to the scientists most likely being Inklings)

There is also a reason for Swap to be a Inktoling, as he’s an alien and therefore wouldn’t really know the difference between Inkling and Octolings. It would also make sense as they technically can’t exist (due to it being mostly genetically impossible) and it could show that he doesn’t have the best knowledge on Inkling and Octoling (it’s shown that he didn’t have the best knowledge on humans)

Weapons

Undercover Brella for the sole reason that Neo made a joke about it, and Swap just went with it.

Kittle / Malcom

Octoling

Malcom would be an Octoling due to the fact of the knowledge he has on coding and his general knowledge on things. But also shown that he’s kinda a recluse and Octoling were separated from almost all other species and became recluses.

I can see him playing Chargers and Stringers. He would most likely play Splatterscope and Inkline Tri-Stringer

Stantized Octoling

Player has issues figuring out who he is, and Sanitized Octolings technically all following the same orders and acting the same. It would help show Player’s issues knowing who he is, especially with Malcom being an Octoling it would help Player struggle a bit with who he is.

Weapons

I can see him playing a weapon from every class really, but I feel like he would play Sloshers and Dualies the most. Playing Tri-Slosher Nouveau and Light Tetra Dualies.

Doc

Fuzzy Octoling

Come on he fell into a thing of goo (even tho it was green and would prob be whatever is used to make Sanitized Octolings) and gained powers of sorts. And i think it would be funny if he was just a Fuzzy Octoling instead of a Sanitized Octoling.

Weapons

I see him as a Splatling player that plays a bit of every Splatling, but he would play Heavy Splatling Deco and Heavy Edit Splatling the most

Freeman

Octoling / Sanitized Octoling

Hear me out, Freeman was originally a normal Octoling, but when his G-man ‘gave’ him his job he became a Sanitized Octoling. It would make sense as he has to follow set rules and Sanitized Octoling follow every order and rule given to them. And after Freeman gets his memories back and G-man is gone he (possibly) gets turned back into a normal Octoling as an apology from the employers.

Weapons

I feel like he would only play Shooters, but plays the same weapons. He would most likely play .96 Gal, Jet Squelcher, and Squeezer.

it honestly depends on what’s needed and his approach, but his recent strategies involve growing thick beards and playing up his longer hair. and i think that works most of the time, mostly because the trend is still for men to have short hair, especially those in law enforcement. like, he’s not disheveled or gross, but he definitely doesn’t look like some undercover government stooge. also, beards really change your face shape and that’d be like, half the work right there, right out of the gate.

he’d probably lean more towards using makeup over any sort of tech if he really had to change his look. he doesn’t really like relying on something that can be taken away quickly in general, and even tho he’s used image inducer tech before, to make his metal arm appear/feel like a normal one, it’s not really a tool he wants to rely on all the time because if the tech fails or isn’t right there, he still needs the skills he has in order to make himself blend in.

since bucky’s side business is essentially providing a henchmen witness protection program, he’s pivoted from disguising and hiding himself to teaching others how to do it, but in a more casual way. tho that also means he has to blend in just as well, because if people realize that the winter soldier is around, they’ll start snooping and find all his clients. so, while he’s pulled away from the assassination side of the business, he’s still utilizing a lot of the skills he picked up, and augmenting them into more long-term solutions than the quick get in, get out type spy stuff that he’s used to.

Because a lot of people did so, here my contribution to the Walker kids (also shamelessly to just talk about one of my OCs that i never manage to talk about):

Grace, born right in the middle of David and Logan, in April 2000, tho to a different mom, which is all fine and well, they all three were together for awhile and happy about the kid. Grace was a papa's girl, she loved Elias a lot

Tho when Grace was 8, they split up and Grace went with her mum to her home country of Germany (why? I'm german it's the only reason) There she still grew up around military, because her step dad also was a soldier, just in the german airforce.

She started growing resentful to Elias, because she thought that he didn't want anything to do with her anymore, because there were no calls, no letters, nothing from him. Eventhough she wrote him countless times, til she was 14 and gave up.

After ODIN took place she used her us-citizenship (cause she was born there) to join the us army too, given that she never really lost her sense of home to the US and also partly to see if she can manage to run across Elias or her brothers along the way and see if they even remember her.

She worked her ass of, becomming one of the best and coming on Merricks radar and getting pulled into the ghosts, where she for the first time again sees Elias, who does not seem to recognise her (she isn't running under the name Walker, but her Step dads name that she took when her mum and him got married). She plays along, staying distant to Elias, because she doesn't wanna get close to him again, not if he doesn't remember her.

She does tell him or rather everyone, in a fit, when she couldn't hold it down anymore. She basically turns to scream everything she had in her since she was 9/10 and started thinking her dad forgot her. Everyone is perplex, because Elias did say that he has a daughter out there somewhere, they all still thought she was (more or less) safe in Europe. Hesh and Logan are stunned that ther sister is back, without anyone knowing, especially because they thought that she left them, never to be heard from again.

Elias is just hurt and angry, not at Grace tho, he lets her scream everything out, before hugging her and apologizing that she felt that way and that he could never forget her, before telling her his side. Because what Grace and the boys didn't know was that the split wasn't nice behind the scene, that's why Grace's mum took her onto a whole different continent and that she left without an address or a number that he can call to keep in contact, he wanted to but he couldn't. (Also he did write letters for her birthdays and other stuff, had them in a drawer for the day that they actually either meet again or he finds an address to send them to, but they got lost in the destruction of ODIN) Basically her mother cut off all ties and the letters that Grace wrote, seemed to never have been sent out to Elias in the first place. Which obviously leads to a whole other sort of anger, but they decide to try to contact her mother, when the shit around them dies down a little bit.

When the shock dies down the boys get excited that they got their lost sister back. And they all do grow closer againm and start to catch up about how life went while they were apart.

That's it for now, also don't ask how that worked with custody and everything, in my head basically Elias gave up his, because it all would've been difficult with Grace being on a diffrent continent, but i don't know, not my area of expertise. And to the fact that he couldn't find them, if you don't manually agree to be put into the telephone book here in Germany, no-one can find out your address without illegal methods (unless you post it somewhere else yourself, we take privacy very serious)

the shatter me series is set in a dystopian world, basically humans fucked the world up enough to more or less make it unliveable in (food was poisoned cos animals ate trash and shit e.g., illnesses like cancer were very common etc.) and then the re-establishment takes over. the re-establishment was elected by the people, promising to re-establish life as they knew it (spoiler alert: they didnt) and then took over the world, turning it into district 12 from the hunger games more or less, except its more technologically advanced (the technology is used to monitor civilians tho not to help them) while the psychopaths (really theres no better word, i dont even think that word is strong enough) at the top enjoy life

now more on my backstory (its basically just juliettes backstory from the books cos i dont have a creative bone in my body):

i was created by evie sommers (juliettes mother) whos also the supreme commander (kinda like president) of oceania in a petri dish out of her dna and maybe someone elses? idk but she modified the dna to basically make me the perfect specimen for her little project. my memories of all this are erased regularly btw so i dont talk about it to other people i coincidentally meet (this is before the re-establishment took over completely, which happens when im around 13-16?) bcs what shes doing is obviously lowkey illegal. anyway at some point (in my head when im around 4-5) she starts letting me play with the kids from the other future surpreme commanders (theres one for each continent) which is also where i get my name (as a project i dont need a name so evie never gave me one) which is juliette (its a bit complicated but basically juliette in the book is really called ella so for the sake of logic ill call her ella from now on and im juliette) and was given to me by aaron cos he likes shakespear and thought it fit me soo juliette it was. after evie discovers emmalines (ellas sister) abilities she decides to abandon me and puts me into a foster family similar to ella in the u.s. (for plots aka aaron and my love stories sake) and since theres this whole plot no-matter-how-many-times-they-erase-my-and-aarons-memories-we-always-fall-in-love-again anderson (aarons dad) thought itd be funny to make ellas undercover name juliette ferrars to see if itd make aaron change his mind (he does these fucked up little experiments for fun) or smth idk i dont understand that guy. anyway my powers (also in the introduction post) start manifesting when im like 10 or so and we have to move a lot after cos i cant control my powers yet. when im 14 it all escalates when i accidentally kill a classmate with my powers (he was an ass tho not to excuse my behavior but just wanted to add that) and after that my parents decide its best for them to give up guardianship for me and hand me over to the re-establishment / government. ella at this point already escaped her family to omega point before she ever touches that little boy in the grocery store. anyway the next few years are a lot of moving in between facilities and rehabilitation centers which ends with them locking me away in an asylum when im 16 and thats the point i shift to.

after that its mostly just the plot of the books which is i get pulled out of the asylum after a little less than a year on aarons orders, he wants to use me as a weapon for the re-establishment (but secretly not), i escape with adam (temporary love interest) and get to omega point along with kenji and then anderson takes 2 hostages from omega point and wants me as an exchange, i shoot him, we kidnap aaron, bla bla adam and i break up, aaron and i have this denial thing (from my side), aaron escapes, omega point fights against the re-establishment and gets defeated, anderson shoots me to teach aaron a lesson, i survive cos aaron saves me, we find the survivors of omega point, aaron gets them on base, we kill anderson and take over north america and then after that its the other books which are a bit more complicated but i can get into that too if anyone would like me to :)

Ive pretty much been here since the first few months of twst being launched. And with the way the fandom acts ive learnt that I cannot really trust leona stans unless theyre black themselves.

But i cannot blame the fandom to much (even though you guys are in fact in charge of your own opinions and the way you look into characters, especially poc ones. Which ive learnt a lot of you as well do not care or take the time to look into them but god forbid someone gets something on idia wrong (no hate to idia himself. Or his fans he just came to mind.))

And u might ask? Why can't I fully blame people? Because of the writing. Yes, Yana's writing was good at some points, but IN MY OPINION!!!! MY OPINION!! The writing got sloppy after heartslabyul slowly. But Savanaclaw was not written as well as the other chapters. Leonas' story was poorly written, imo it was okay, but there was definitely more that could've been done. Which is why many people dehumanize him, yes he did in fact hurt ruggie in the story (which is a reasonable reason to not like him i suppose?) But i feel like people just use it as an excuse to be an undercover racist (if it doesnt apply, let it fly btw.) But a lot of you hate leona and his fans (mostly cause of heavy mischaracterization in the fandom) then go and defend vil (not all vil fans btw. Like i said doesnt apply let it fly?) Even tho he quite literally almost killed someone as well like? Just a little weird thing in my opinion but you know !!!

But also the way savanaclaw as a whole throws me the hell off as they're shown to be "aggressive" and always ready to fight. Not to mention the fucking outfits for godsake its hot as hell and your telling me theyre wearing leather out there?

reporter!jimmy/CEO!sea. this is actually the very first scenario i've ever imagined for another jimmysea series and im still ridiculously fond of it. the plot is about sea as a young CEO who gets involved in a scandal about money laundering and jimmy as a reporter who sees this story as a chance to finally make it big. the two of them start out fully hating each other because jimmy believes sea is just another rich guy who thinks he can do whatever he wants, while sea already hated reporters in general but having jimmy constantly poking around his business and even trespassing is making him dislike them even more. except at one point jimmy ends up finding something that proves that sea is innocent so they begrudgingly team up to find the truth. also features guypapang as a side pairing.

and they were roommates. oh my god they were roommates. inspired by the maybe this is love mv, this was originally a very lovely anon's idea which i still really like. it features jimmy as a grumpy reclusive writer with a too big of an imagination and sea as a down to earth sunshine florist. they somehow end up living together and becoming best friends and falling in love. you can read some more details here and here if you want!!

medical drama. something like hospital playlists or a poem a day meets one of those big american medical dramas like ER or grey's anatomy. i don't have much of a plot in mind, but i would love to see a thai BL version of the daily life of doctors with jimmysea as the main pairing but also with a lot of focus on friendships. in my mind we also have forcebook, namtan, jamie and prigkhing in the cast, and it's just all of them eventually forming a big found family and helping each other getting through life (i know that jimmy being a doctor may make this redundant but i still want it!!!!!).

ONCE AGAIN IM NOT SURE ABOUT THE PLOT ALL I KNOW IS THAT I NEED JIMMYSEA IN DARKER ROLES!!!!!! my very first idea was sea as a boxer who is accused of murder and jimmy as his lawyer, but i thought that maybe it was too similar to the reporter/ceo one (as in, jimmy's characters help clearing sea's name). so my next idea was jimmy as the witness of a murder and sea as the rookie cop who finds himself having to protect him from getting killed. THEN i also went darker and thought about rival assassins sent to kill each other but oops they fall in love??? jimmy as an undercover cop who ends up question what's right and what's wrong as he slowly falls for crime boss sea????? ALL OF THESE????? IDK SOMEONE TELL ME IF ANY OF THESE SOUND GOOD.

reality tv singing competition. this just popped into my mind yesterday and i fully blame the LOL fanfest for it. it's probably not particularly good but.. jimmy as the leader of a rock band and sea as half of an acoustic duo. they are rivals but they get close to each other throughout the competition despite their better judgement (because you know.. there are cameras everywhere and not everyone would be happy about it and someone still has to win).
