working my way through the evangelion rebuild movies and cruel angel's thesis is once again sinking into my blood and bones
#also holy shit watching this in my late twenties is an astonishingly different experience#to watching the original series in my early twenties#i understand misato on a soul deep level like YEAH SHINJI all you need in a fridge IS ice beer and snacks#(at least that's the case when you're pretending functionality as a thin veneer over deep trauma hahaha)#asuka continues to be worst best girl#i am highly sceptical of the new girl but clinging to the hope that the rest of the writing is so good#hopefully they don't shit the bed for the sake of shoehorning in a random mary sue#tbf i've seen two scenes with her so far and i do kind of like her#like GIRL you are FUCKED UP i cannot WAIT to see the details of your particular neuroses#kaji seems more overtly sleazy than i recall but otoh that first scene with ritsuko was hilarious#misato having a full on nuclear meltdown on the other side of the window#adore that kaji set up a camera loop so he and ritsuko could fuck but neglected to think abotu the HUGE FUCKING WINDOW into the office#also omg asuka having the doll with her broke my heart like BABY#crossing my fingers and hoping against hope she and shinji get a better ending in the rebuild bc they deserve it#(as if anyone gets what they deserve in evangelion lmao)
