VERSACE: NEW GLOBAL AMBASSADOR

ATEEZ Himari joins Stray Kids Hyunjin as the fashion house's representative.

Following the attendance of ATEEZ vocalist Himari at the La Vacanza fashion show, many expected an ambassadorship announcement to follow closely behind yet when the awaited post came only one idol had been put forth for the position. While some speculated that the young woman simply did not fit Versace's criteria, others claimed that due to the group's busy schedule KQ Entertainment had turned down any offers for external work.

On September 17th however all rumors were silenced by a singular post released on the brand's account, which contained a picture of Himari wearing an outfit similar to the one Hyunjin wore in his own announcement with the caption: 'The house of Versace is proud to announce that K-Pop's Princess, Min Himari, will be joining our Prince as global ambassador.' Merely minutes after the statement's upload countless comments began flooding in, for the most part conveying how excited they were that the idol was finally making an official entrance in the high fashion world.

This was not entirely unexpected as during the few months following the fashion show she had been seen almost perpetually wearing at least one Versace piece. It is quite possible that KQ Entertainment wished to wait until the group's schedule cleared to let the artist pursue external offers, hence teasing the collaboration.

'When we met in person for the first time there was something about her very being that immediately had me mesmerized, which is quite the feat because when working in an industry like this you see so much beauty that it almost desensitizes you. To me she truly did look like a princess not only in her visuals but the way she spoke, the way she moved, her posture and immediately I thought to myself 'that's her, if Versace had a human form it would be her'. Throughout the show she tended to stay near Hyunjin and when I saw them together I realized why people call them K-Pop royalty, so much so that I couldn't imagine our house being represented by simply one of them.' - Donatella Versace

Both South Korean artists are recognized for their artistic abilities so it came as no surprise when the fashion brand's creative director expressed her desire for their pieces to inspire a future collection. In the past Himari had shared several images of reformed clothing, a skill she learned from ATEEZ leader Hongjoong, which makes this idea becoming a reality all the more likely.

Himari's attendance at Milan Fashion Week will be her first official appearance as a Versace ambassador, with many more schedules to come. Meanwhile her visage has already begun appearing through displays in stores based in Korea.

The duo's stunning visuals as well as their creative minds is sure to bring the House of Versace to new heights and we eagerly await to see what will come out of the artistic synergy. With a few of their bandmates having been chosen as ambassadors (Hongjoong for Balmain and Felix for Louis Vuitton) we can also look forward to more members making their way into the fashion industry.

Words aren’t the easiest thing especially since she renders me speechless half the time (or dying of laughter) but omg yunjin is everything. Shes just so silly all the time like there is literally never a moment where she isnt being goofy asf and the high energy is just so infectious it makes me happy seeing her happy and having fun with the other fimmies.

Shes so pretty and her visuals are just amazing. Girly pulls off red, orange, black, brunette and blonde hair so well its crazy. (SHES BLONDE AGAIN RARGH) Yunjin also manages to be simultaneously sexy/hot and cute/adorable. Like at one point itll be like omg shes stunning wtf and the next itll be omg why is she such a loser. Her personality is lowkey one of the best parts abt her, shes seems so genuine and sweet and just an amazing person overall. But back to the loser thing istg she is the biggest loser idol ive seen so far, she really puts the HUH in Huh Yunjin 😅🤣 Actually her and kazuha in particular are the most loser duo in the whole group (Shinez my beloved 💕) i swear they only have one braincell when together but omg they both fit the loser in a hot body description so well. (Exactly my type lmao 🤭🤭) AND THEM IN GLASSES 😫😫 We love a hot nerdy loser gf moment

But aside from how entertaining and beautiful she is, she deserves kudos for even being here. Yunjin is literally (like every other idol) just a person with a dream. She could’ve given up when she got kicked off p48 and got all that hate just bc the public favored someone else at the time. (which btw her performance was great and those vocals 😮‍💨 she deserved the position) She could’ve stayed in america and finished business school but she got up and gave it another shot. I legit wrote about her im my english exam bro im not even joking. The question was something to do with celebrities being good role models or something and guess who got a fucking A? Me. And i hate english (mostly the writing) Its just the effect of Huh Yunjin 🤪

And for the record shes doing fucking amazing. She helps compose and produce not only songs for the group but also for her solo songs too. Shes got 4 solo songs in which shes done basically everything herself and theyre all very good. The lyrics are well written as well, each with their own meanings behind them and she can play multiple different instruments. Basically shes talented asf. Also i read somewhere shes in the top 10 kpop soloists with the highest spotify streams or monthly or something (dont come at me if this is inaccurate) and she hasnt even properly had a solo debut album or anything yet. Oh and the solo songs have had little to no promotion either so what does that say about how great she is?

Yunjin is so adorable and precious to me i have no idea how i got so attached but shes my ult bias without question.

A Plague Tale Requiem - Thoughts (SPOILERS)

I've just finished playing A Plague Tale Requiem and well…it became my favorite game ever. lol

It was a perfect sequel to Innocence and it improved in all aspects compared to the first game, even where I didn't think it was possible.

The gameplay was smoother and felt more nautral, I loved the new way we had of controlling the rats, which I found a bit too hard in the first game. Loved all the new ways of killing enemies, including the crossbow, and how all the weapons just felt instinctive to use.

Also, I thought that Sophia's prism was a very creative way of avoiding the rats.

The visuals were even more stunning than Innocence, which was BEAUTIFUL.

In Requiem, though, literally every scene was straight out of a painting. I spent so much time wandering around and trying to catch every little detail and glimpse of this beautiful world.

I was particularly impressed by chapter 9: such a big space to walk around compared to all the other chapters, and it was just as beautiful and full of details as the others.

The music was perfect in every moment and was fundamental to convey the strong emotions of the story, exactly like the dubbing that was just amazing. (When Hugo said 'I love you' to the tree my heart sunk in my stomach lol)

The story was very well written even if (of course) it leaves you with a bittersweet feeling at the end. And I think that's how Amicia feels at the end too: the plague has been stopped but… yeah, you already know.

The new companions were written flawlessly and you grow to care for them exactly like it happened in Innocence with all the kids.

It's insane how this game is capable of making you see a character in all his facets, and makes you appreciate characters that you first considered enemies. Like it happened with Arnold but even with the rats themselves: they first were a threat, and later they become an asset to help you go forward in your path.

Also, the very last scene where we see the new born baby bearer of the Macula, suggests that, if there will ever be a sequel (I HOPE), it will probably take place in a more modern setting, given the sound of the mechanical respirator we can hear in the back. And I don't know how to feel about that😅.

Because, obviously I would love another great game and to know more about the story, but at the same time I want Amicia, Lucas and Sophia to be back!😭 I'm not ready to leave them yet.

And this brings me to the only sour note about Requiem: why didn't they bring Melie back?

They told us in the finale of Innocence that she left the group because she was scared of Hugo basically.

And this left a big scar on Amicia, like we can see with Sophia: when Sophia sees for the first time what Hugo is capable of, Amicia is terrified she will leave them, exaclty like Melie did… (part number 324234232 where my heart broke).

Amicia can handle when strangers look at Hugo fearfully, but Melie was her friend and they built a strong bond during the first game.

All the kids were like family, that's why it felt so wrong when she just left… no goodbyes, no last scene.

She was clearly torn apart by the pain of loosing Arthur, and she couldn't help but blaming Hugo for it, but I really hoped that when this wound would've healed a little, she would've come back to the only friends she has.

And now, more than ever, that they have both lost the only brother they have, they could've been there for each other and understand each other like none else could.

That's the reason why I hoped to see her again until the last frame of the game, but also simply because I grew attached to her character and I missed her. *sigh*

But yeah, if the hypothetical sequel will take place in the future, there is less than 0 chances of seeing her again. Of seeing ANY of them again, for that matter.

Bottom line, this game was ridiculously good and it broke my heart from start to finish, when I was just trying to hold back tears (unsuccessfully).

It's a shame A Plague Tale isn't more known, because it deserves the same recognition as games such as The Last of Us.

P.S.: favourite funny moment, Silent Lucinda, and Hugo being terrified of goats ever since. lol

There is something so refreshing about shipping an Idol with someone who would make their world feel surreal.

This ship is a partial oath to making you smile and giving you a gift, but the rest is fully reliant on the fact that deep down Wonbin is the one cherishing this relationship that bit more than yourself.

This doesn’t mean you don’t love him, but there is always this part of himself that feels things to a deep extent. That’s part of the reason why he loves you so much, it’s the fact that your existence and the presence you have in his life makes him ponder over everything that has happened to him so far.

 Oddly enough, despite his stoic nature, you inspired a sense of unmistakable confidence in him. It wasn’t even the normal type of confidence; it was just him feeling like he could fully express how he felt. There was no way he could ever go back after smiling at you like that.

Quickly interjecting with something on your visuals. First of all, you’re absolutely stunning, honestly, you’re such a natural visual it’s insane! But the standout point is the kindness that you possess. This isn’t necessarily touching on your personality, I’ll get  to that, but you’re the definition of being beautiful inside and out, your appearance is a type of window into your soul. This is a huge reason as to why I ship you with him, both of you have such good visuals but they speak louder than your words do.

The whole quiet-spoken sweethearts-who-are-so-alluring-with-their-appearance thing is so refreshing to see. Even though it seems you’re just visuals case closed there’s a lot more complexities that comes with that.in the way that you aren’t the same.

You have such a gentle look to you; you seem almost angelic with your sweet appearance whereas Wonbin is known for his more striking appearance that literally rivals ai. This really makes for a beautiful couple, you’re both coming together in such visual harmony.

Visuals can only take you so far, and while you are so complimentary in that sense, we shouldn’t discredit the harmonious way in which your personalities come together. It sounds so mystical when you put it that way but what I mean is that there is little to no conflict with both of you. You’re both existing on the same wavelength and it’s so cute how you literally can just say how you feel and the other will totally get it.

It’s the perfect backdrop for your love of communication, Wonbin may be a bit timid at first but once he gets started, he will hardly ever withhold his true feelings.

In many ways you are a great source of inspiration for him. Wonbin can’t help but swoon at your charming nature, he is so attracted to your reserved and polite nature, you just seem so dainty and doll-like in his mind,  yet he also knows how fascinating you can be when you actually share your perspectives with him.

You’re both so incredibly gentle with one another, Wonbin is more inspired by the fact that you are so kind even if you have moments where you can’t read him.

He wants to just live in a bubble of innocence or at least feigned innocence, while he seems so dismissive when talking about you to his friends, he is just casually protecting your relationship with his entire being.  

Wonbin may live life seeming almost as stoic as you, but nothing will ever fully erase the fireworks he feels when he nudges you awake after having fallen asleep with your head resting against his shoulder.

He would feel guilty but then he reminds himself that both of you have admitted, on a particularly sleepless night, that neither of you are scared to wake up since your life together is better than any dream you have.

❤️ - What's one memory of your practice that you reflect the most fondly on?

There are many, but I think my all time favourite memory is the first time I talked to Loki all these years ago. I was considering myself norse pagan by then, but had a necessary break after toxic relationship - in truly fucked up way, norse things got kinda associated in my head with my ex and had to take a step back until I was ready to pick it up again. When I was, it became obvious who's changing out around me, and finally on one misty autumn morning I decided on a whim to go take photos in the forest and also decided that I'm gonna sit and talk to Loki while I'm there. It turned out to be intense and beautiful talk, and I feel warm inside every time I think about it. It was also stunning visually, all these autumn leaves and they was they looked - I want to paint them like that one day (and I think I finally feel like I'm on skill level to do that moment justice) I wrote a bit about it before on my dw here

🪦 - Do ancestors or human spirits play a big role in your practice?

Yes! Both in general way, when I feel connected my a looong chain of humans that came before me, and when it come to my own ancestors - I pay special attention to my grandma's side of family, as they were a working class family with strong leftist values for few generations and I feel a connecion with them. I have grandma's photo on my altar, and recently my mom found the only photo of my great grandfather (only other than the one Auschwitz memorial has sent us - he was aiding the reistance during WWII) and it made me very emotional, even tho it's a small group photo that's overexposed, but it's very candid and so *real*. thinking of him helps me find a strenght when times are dire.

🧭 - What led you to your practice?

I'm not sure I can pinpoint one specific thing. I was always a weird kid that looked for *more*, I read a lot, including various mythologies, and now I think there might have been a moment that could lead me to exploring paganism - when I was maybe six or seven, I asked an adult (teacher, I think) why nobody worships greek gods anymore (I was raised in mostly atheist household) and they replied that it's a thing from the past. I understood it in "mom said it's my turn for religious worship" kinda way and thought that maybe I should try worshipping ancient gods in the future so it will be fair. I suppose it stayed with me in a way. as for picking up heathenry... I'm not sure. It just resonated with me the most from all I explored. This, and talked back to me, which wasn't my end goal, but a nice bonus.

my thoughts on taylor's grammy nominations

i still think midnights is criminally underrated in the fandom, so it would be amazing to see her getting the awards she deserves! absolutely taylor's most cohesive album to date and you can just see how proud she is of it. the lyrics, the production, the visuals, the narratives, everything, just pure pop perfection. i'd expect nothing less from the legend that is miss taylor swift.

1. record of the year - anti hero.

anti hero is a fantastic song, i will never understand why people hate it all the time. it showcases something i think taylor is super good at and that stands her out from other artists - pumping endorphins into the most heart wrenching lyrics. this award is mostly for sound and production however - i'll come back to lyrics later. i think anti hero separates itself production-wise from the rest of midnights (which has a dreamier vibe to it) which i love because it's more raw and personal and honest than the other songs, which are more narrative or experience based. i wouldn't suggest it's the best song on the album, but it's absolutely a deserving single and winner of this award.

it has some super tough competition for this award - it's been an amazing year for music - especially sza's "kill bill" and victoria monét's "on my mama" (both of which i'd be equally happy with as winners). i would say myself that anti hero shines far more in its lyrics than its production, which might hurt it in competition, so if she loses out on any awards, it may well be this one.

2. album of the year - midnights.

in my eyes, midnights won album of the year as soon as it was released. it's just stunning in every possible way. again, there's lots of tough competition from all different genres, but midnights is in a league of its own. the production is gorgeous and (unpopular opinion probably) very different from what she's released in the past, with this amazing dreamy and nostalgic quality to it that brings to life the album concept without it being ostentatious. it follows a clear but not garish or derivative narrative path, again subtly and tastefully presenting its concept. the lyrics are consistently reflective but present differing emotions, which again is indispensable in this particular concept. it's absolutely a 10/10 album in my books, and clearly one of her best, if not her best overall.

3. song of the year - anti hero.

okay, this one is for songwriting, which we know is what taylor swift came to do, and what she will always dominate in. i said about the record of the year nomination that anti hero will be known for its gut wrenching honesty and not necessarily for its sound, and i stand by that here. for me, taylor's selling point is her ability to write music that is obviously deeply personal to her, but also general enough that any of us can relate to it and feel heard and seen. anti hero is a masterclass in this - every word is perfectly crafted in such a way that you can see yourself and your own struggles in it, even if they're nothing to do with hers, without a scrap of taylor's personal feelings being lost in it. it combines beautiful poetic lyrics with a punchy hook that somehow remains perfectly tasteful and never cheap or lazy, and every second of it is dripping with genuine emotion. this is one of the songs of hers that will outlast us, and deserves to be recognised as such.

4. best pop duo/group performance - karma (ft. ice spice)

i will be one to say this song is WAY overhated. it's a grower for sure, but i love it. ice spice is just so excellent with wordplay and rhyming, it's great to see them on a track together. karma is a brilliant song anyway, it's so tongue in cheek it regularly crosses into comedic in an artful way. i don't expect it will win, if i'm honest, not because it's not a good song, which it is, but because it has too much competition for it to live up to standards. most likely it will go (deservedly) to "candy necklace" or "ghost in the machine".

They dedicated so much of their time and energy to their patron god and for what? A swift and grueling punishment for simply attempting the Song of Ruin. What kind of demon would [ ] be if they didn’t try to cause some mayhem? …Though they weren’t a *true* demon, just a pathetic human who was saved by their patrons' good graces, as they so lovingly like to beat into [ ] with every perceived slight and minor mistake.

This marks the first time their patron threw them back out into the human realm though. [ ] was confused, why just drop them completely after working to build them up as some kind of new magical development in the demon realm?

Whatever, [ ]’s not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth, they’ll take their voice somewhere where it's truly appreciated.

Shoto could smell something.

His gifted sense of smell was picking up an all too familiar stench of hell demon’s carry but under that, there was… something human?

Then he heard it, a beautiful voice, singing. Coming in the same direction as the peculiar smell.

‘Some kind of siren demon?’ his mind supplied, but Shoto couldn’t leave well enough alone. He may be retired on his sweeping killing spree of every demon, but if one is potentially hurting humans he’ll take them down like he used to.

Shoto made his way through the trees, now walking off the beaten path to investigate the voice. He was trying to reach the next settlement on his journey to see what the world has to offer outside of killing demons.

Following both his ears and nose he wadded through the trees and shrubbery, Shoto finally had a visual on the source. There, in a small clearing, a humanoid figure sat upon a tree stump, singing to an audience of small blue flames dancing in the air. Shoto found himself staring at the stranger's face, entranced with their soft facial features and white hair, styled in a wolf cut.

They finished their song, voice falling quieter as they hung on the last note. Their eyes, which had stayed closed during the entirety of the time Shoto observed them, finally opened and revealed stunning yellow gold eyes.

‘OH NO THEY’RE HOT!’

Shoto’s heart was betraying him, speeding up as they locked gazes. Shoto didn’t know what to do, he never felt anything close to this warm feeling directed at a demon before. Before there were plenty of objectively attractive demons Shoto had seen, physical attractiveness being a tool in a demon's arsenal, ready to be weaponized. But that was when his eyes were still clouded with the single purpose of killing every demon he came across, their looks all blurring together as Shoto cared only if they were alive or dead.

The little blue flames took notice of Shoto, following the stranger’s gaze to see Shoto just standing there in the forest shrubbery.

“Another fan?” one flame piped up, then the entire group of them erupted into murmurs, soon coalescing into a single fireball that shifted into … the shape of a hand?

The flame hand then shot towards Shoto, who panicked at their approach and began to take a step back, but he lost his footing on a large tree root, and started to lose his balance. But before he could fall, the fireball darted just past him, then he felt a large warm hand on his back, saving him from his fall but also pushing him into the clearing.

The hand didn’t stop their pushing until Shoto found himself face to face with the singer. Shoto was too close for comfort to what could still be a dangerous demon.

Though... standing this close to them his nose picked up that human smell more strongly, the smell of fires and sulfur drowned out by strawberries and-

“...Are you sniffing me?!” They break the silence to look at Shoto incredulously, who had closed his eyes subconsciously to focus on their smell and was indeed sniffing them.

“Wh- w- Wait it’s not what it looks like!”

“Then what DOES it look like, bitch!?”

The gaggle of flames having dispersed into their individual forms, were now watching with bated breath at the scene unfolding they kinda had a part in playing in. There could be small voices heard as some commentated:

“Oooooo someone is in trouble~”

“It is rather weirdge of that guy to be sniffing someone they just met, no?”

“Wish U-san would call me a bitch…”

“Um um um well you see, I have a magically gifted sense of smell so, when I noticed a demonic smell overlapping a human one I imagined- I thought maybe a demon was attacking someone?” Shoto’s voice cracks at the last syllable, utterly lost on how to handle the situation.

But then they just started laughing. “You- You’re telling me you have a magic nose?” they dissolve into a fit of giggles.

“Wh- what? That's what you're choosing to focus on?!”

The giggling pauses as they turn to the peanut gallery of blue flames, “Anybody else think this guy reminds them of a dog?” The blue flames start giggling in turn, some nodding in agreement.

“W- Why does everyone think I’m some kind of dog boy?!” Shoto is fully embarrassed now, blush growing more noticeable in color and size.

He is never beating the dog boy allegations.

“Well if me, a complete stranger can pick up on your “dog boy” energy, then maybe that's on you?”

“ANYWAYS!” Shoto trying to move away from this topic. “Y- you-” He audibly gulps as he’s trying to calm himself down. “Are you human?”

“...Not sure, really. I mean- I was born a human, sure but then this demon got his hands on me when I was in the middle of drowning- so now I got these things-”

Suddenly from their back, sprout jet black wings, with some feathers falling off in process. Some fire balls "ooo" and "aaa" at the sight. One goes to eat the stray feathers.

Shoto is bluescreening at the information that demons can seemingly alter humans, but also from the fact that this person is somehow even hotter now with the addition of wings.

“But-” the stranger interrupts Shoto’s thoughts. “They chewed me up and spit me back out for trying to sing a song that can raise hell” they sigh. “So I’ve just been chilling, searching and finding an audience for my singing.” They gesture towards the floating blue flames. Some start doing a lil dance. Their gaze turns back to Shoto, a chill running up his spine as they ask “Did you like my singing?”

“Y- yeah! Your voice is really nice! I- I’ve been trying to learn singing myself but wow your uh- voice makes me feel like I shouldn’t even bother-”

They suddenly come up to hold Shoto, one around his waist and another cupping his face as they talk quietly to him. “Don’t. I’m sure your singing voice is great judging by your regular voice. Don’t doubt yourself, you can always improve, yeah?”

Shoto is done for now, he thinks, their beautiful face just inches from his. Their quiet voice drips in what is no doubt their love for their craft but Shoto finds himself taking the words of assurance and encouragement as compliments. He finds himself staring at their lips.

“..do you have a name?”

“Pffft, HA!” the intense mood is broken as the stranger now steps away from Shoto, who thinks he might die if they don’t come back to hold him and keep whispering sweet nothings to him. “That’s the million dollar question everybody wants to know, yeah?” They go to sit back on their tree stump seat. “Well, I have no answer!” They groan in frustration, leaning back at letting their torso rest flat on the horizontal surface of the stump, wings spilling out on either side.

Shoto feels terrible now, having so suddenly soured this beautiful mood with a single innocent question. He stares at his shoes, trying to find the words to make this right, but they just met each other he doesn’t know what to say-

He feels a sudden warm feeling on his cheek, he looks up to find one of the small blue flames in front of him, ramming its adorably small body repeatedly into Shoto’s face. “What?”

“They’re unnamed for now, but we u-rei’s like to call them U-san ‘cuz the first letter in ‘unnamed’ is U and -san is a gender neutral suffix to refer to someone politely," the flame ball states rather matter-of-factly.

Shoto shoots a glance back at the singer, still laying there, eyes looking to the sky, looking like they’re waiting for something. “Do you guys know why they don't have a name?”

“Um well, from what we’ve gathered, the demon that experimented on them took their name, in the most literal sense, when they booted U-san out here. Wherever their name was written, there’s only a blank spot. They described recalling memories of their name being spoken aloud as if the sound was made abstract and incomprehensible. The memories of their friends being re-weaved to exclude U-san’s presence in their lives, alienating them from their old life.”

Shoto is… disturbed for sure, a demon that can just wipe a person’s name from existence, rewriting people’s memories…? But he puts that aside for now, arming himself with a determination to help this beautiful stranger. He leaves the little flame be, and walks toward them. “Hey.”

“What?” They don’t look at him.

“Have you heard what your little fanbase has been calling you?”

“...They’re calling me by a name?”

“Yeah, it’s U-san. Just the letter U with the -san suffix.”

Slime Rancher 2 First Impressions

These are just my thoughts. I'm not a reviewer or anything. But if you want to use this to influence you to buy or not buy the game, go right ahead!

Shorter, spoiler-free thoughts: The game is everything I'd hoped it would be and more. There was built hype within my friend group as we all waited until it dropped to check it out, so I was a little worried I'd be heading in with overbuilt hype. It's early access after all, so my expectations shouldn't be too high. But the hype was not overbuilt in the slightest. It's Slime Rancher 2 alright! Same vibe and energy as the first game, with more content, some quality of life, and some more intrigue in the story and lore of the game.

The progression of certain aspects from the first game, such as Slime Science and upgrades, are very altered, but in a way I felt was much better and well-integrated, making the progression feel more natural. Towards the later part of the first game, the progression felt more like just going from area to area instead of upgrading along the way. I felt this was fixed by this new game.

Slime Rancher 2 is beautiful even on low settings, and just overall a good time. I had some minor issues while playing, like slimes and chickens getting stuck, or at one point I somehow managed to launch myself into the air, but those are to be expected of early access. I had no major glitches or bugs for my entire several hour play session.

If you loved Slime Rancher 1, you will love Slime Rancher 2. Simple as that.

Upon launching the game, I switched all my graphics settings to the lowest possible option in almost every category and capped my FPS at 60. I'm playing this game on a Macbook through a virtual machine, so naturally I'm not going to have any ambient occlusion or anything like that. But even on the lowest settings, with crappy texture quality, no bloom, and no impressive lighting settings, the game is gorgeous. The lighting is beautiful, and even just sitting still and staring at the menu screen, or the spawning area, the game is just absolutely stunning. 10/10 visuals. I have a bit of lag. The game runs at maybe 30-40 fps when playing normally. But my eyes adjusted to the lower fps and it isn't that big of a deal to me. You probably won't be able to run it if you have a potato computer, but most computers with decent graphics cards will probably run it on low settings no problem. I can't imagine how gorgeous it would look if you had a good graphics card.

Instantly there are some small changes that I feel add to the game very nicely. It feels as though the run speed is a bit quicker in this game than it was previously. My partner pointed it out while they were playing and I noticed it once I started too. The vac pack slots also have a little popup that tells you what item you're holding when you switch to them, which is both nice and aesthetically pleasing.

Slime Science is integrated immediately. You don't need to purchase the area that will contain the lab; the lab is right under your feet once you spawn in. This is great, of course, as one of my minor problems with the first game is that I felt Slime Science was poorly integrated with the overall progression. This makes it a natural part of progress. The resource nodes are gathered by vac instead of through harvesters, which is also a huge plus. Those harvesters always felt tedious to me, and I never got too deep into Slime Science because of them.

However, this comes with one big change: your upgrades, such as your jetpack or energy core upgrades, are part of slime science now. They need resources to craft instead of only requiring Newbucks. This change is a good one, I felt. Not only does it encourage more use of Slime Science, but it also alters your progression. In the first game I found myself buying upgrades almost instantly after unlocking them. By around the halfway point, I had them all, and I hadn't really done much to earn them beyond throwing a few plorts into the market. This makes them feel much more integrated and much more earned. I felt incredibly satisfied when I got an upgrade I'd been looking for. Some of them feel a tad expensive on the resources end, like the water tank, but if you go out of your way to get them it shouldn't take you more than fifteen minutes once you've unlocked the islands you need to make them.

The areas and level design impressed me. The area you call home is visually stunning, and the surrounding areas inspired a lot of exploration and travel. I'd often depart from my ranch with an objective in mind, then find myself in a completely different part of the map, getting distracted with feeding a gordo or gathering resources for Slime Science. The way the game is structured makes it so that it's much harder to skip over parts of progression. Instead of locked gates, you travel to new areas through portals. Gone are the days of climbing over every locked door with my jetpack.

Speaking of, the jetpack feels more like an intended part of the game than a fun gadget you can occasionally use to skip progression. Some areas require or encourage its use, while major progression is kept away from its abuse. Overall the levels feel built around using the jetpack rather than built around only running, making it feel much more like a part of the game and not an exploit.

I don't think this needs to be said, but the new slime designs are adorable. I've noticed they seem to be overwhelmingly based off animals, though. There are bunnies, angler fish, bats, butterflies... I love the animal-like slimes from the first game, with saber and hunter being my favorites, but that's my only real complaint about the designs. I feel like they could take from a wider range of inspirations. But I don't mind, really. All the slimes could be based off animals and I wouldn't mind too much! They're all adorable and make some really cute largos!

As with the first, this game is incredibly relaxing. I could see this becoming my go-to game when I need to cool off and wind down after a stressful day. It's slow-paced, with no rush to your objectives. The only real spikes in heartrate come with tarr outbreaks or nearly tripping and falling into the ocean. It's a quick gasp, then back down to calm. I'd definitely recommend this as a relaxing game if you like slower games for that, like Stardew Valley or Minecraft.

I could definitely see myself getting a bit carried away with long sessions, though. Maybe set a timer if you only want to relax for a little bit, otherwise it'll suck you right in!

Despite the early access nature of the game, I only had a few minor issues, as said before. There are some little nooks where smaller slimes or chickens can get stuck. At the start of the game you spawn in with 5 pink slimes on your ranch. I thought they lowered it to 4, but it turned out my pink slime was stuck in a corner of the ranch, along with the starting roostro. It's a quick fix though, just a vac and firing it off into the sea or wherever I want it to go. At some point, while running around my ranch, I launched myself upwards like 50 feet into the air. I don't know how it happened, and I couldn't recreate it, but that's as far as bugs and glitches go for me. Nothing too extreme. No severe lag, no frame drops, no falling through the map, no crashes, nothing. It's quite polished for an early access game. I don't know if my experiences line up with others', but from watching my friends play or talking to them about it generally, I found that to be a common experience!

This is a bit of a messy post, just a dump of my thoughts, but overall I would definitely recommend if you like cute slimes and slower-paced games. Not going to give it an out-of-ten rating, as it is still in early access, and I don't believe that's a terribly good metric. But I thoroughly enjoyed it!
