every time a writer has batman refer to his children & mentees as his “soldiers” i get a step closer to sending frank miller an envelope full of anthrax.

new writers read pre-crisis (or even just like any pre-1990 writer other than marv “my self insert fucked a teenager” wolfman) comics challenge.

#& im not against there being strain or strife or like unmendable cracks in bruce’s relationships with them tbc #but there is a gratuity to the modern approach that makes it very clear that either a) frank miller (who originated this viewpoint in some #ways) is the only writer they’re familiar with #or b) they are trying to be a hashtag-sensation #so you get huge bombastic conflicts that are entirely fucking nonsensical (spyral) or way more physically violent & pointedly aggressive #than bruce would ever go (that red hood & the outlaws issue. also spyral or like any time he’s gotten mad at dick since the crisis)#(also as a red hood fan can we please stop pretending rhato isn’t shit??? the comic is like blatantly shitty & uninspired as are both team #make-ups the characterization is nightmarish & the guy who wrote it was an ass. every time somebody stops considering #it canon jason comes a little closer to getting a good writer)#bruce wayne #batman #dc #for legal reasons this is a joke & i have no genuine intent to send frank miller anthrax that would be fucked up #fbi please leave me tf alone thank you
