🍇 The Cowboy!

🍇: What sort of friend are they? Where are they in the group dynamic?

Anon ily but I have no way of knowing who this is ab bc I have a whole verse of cowboy guys 😭 So I will answer for the 4 that come to mind. There are technically like two more but they don’t have bios so I won’t talk ab em yet. SO

The first three are from my supernatural cowboy-verse!

Antez (he/hymn/hiss):

Antez is the enabler. He loves doing new things, and seeing how people react in different situations, and he also just enjoys doing stuff with people he cares about. He’s a bit flighty and can sometimes get sidetracked, and oscillates between being very talkative and very quiet, but either way he’s always observing very intently. He can be really fun to be around, but is also a bit oblivious and impulsive, so while people may love doing things with hymn, he can also end up very draining, or seem like he’s overlooking people’s needs and wants. Overall, the one who spurs the group into activities. In modern day, would be an avid windowshopper, and would buy people random scam items from the internet because an ad was convincing enough. Still very loving though.

Romero (he/him):

Romero is the mom friend. He listens, and even though he’s somewhat doing his own thing any time the group hangs out, he’s always pretty aware of people’s needs. He’ll bring snacks or make dinner, or casually sew up someone’s jacket if he notices there’s a hole in it. He’ll make people custom jams and jellies for special occasions, with a flavor profile he thinks they’ll enjoy, and always puts extra care into the presentation. He’s a bit of an introvert though, so he’ll sometimes go fully off on his own, tending to his ranch or his garden, and won’t interact much for a few weeks. It’s not that he doesn’t like people, he just also enjoys exploring and engaging with his hobbies by himself, or with his husband (Antez) and other people don’t always factor in. Just a silent but very caring guy.

Moses (he/him):

Moses isn’t really a cowboy, and similarly he’s not exactly the best friend. He’s someone you hang out with casually, who’ll come over to play music or knock back a few beers and talk, but he also gets jealous and angry easily and that leads to a lot of issues. He’s the on and off friend, the one you have arguments with but keep coming back to, keep assuming it’ll get better. And it will for awhile, but there’s always friction again. He has a tendency to self-isolate if he’s pissed, or give the silent treatment, but he’ll still show up to things and do things with people, just quietly and with an angry face. He’s messy, but in good times, he’s insightful, creative, and comfortable. If only it would last.

And now from the vampire verse instead!

Louis (he/him):

He’s the best friend type, grounded but also willing to go along with dumb ideas. He’s a bit awkward but he’s also usually the most aware and solid in social situations, and he’ll check in with people if they seem overwhelmed or like somethings off. He may not be equally close to everyone he hangs out with, but he’s always good at making conversation if he ends up one on one with people. He’s just like… a guy. He’s vibing, and he’s kind, and he laughs a lot, and he can make anyone feel comfortable, but he’s definitely unaware of how likeable he is. He usually ends up the responsible one if people are being reckless, but he’s not a parental friend, he’s more the reminder to be careful, the eyeroll and the “you’re a fucking idiot dude.”
