It is a common misconception that yolo is an exclamation, or a phrase, when it is in fact a verb. A verb you must conjugate properly. “To yolo” does not follow the normal rules of English conjugation. Here are its forms with explanations.

You-yolo. You only live once.

Me-yolo, because it is a rhetorical you, unless one happens to be speaking to an entity who does not only live once, like a cat. In this case the proper form is iolo. The i replaces the y. We will see something similar to this across forms. Please note iolo can sound very similar to i yolo when spoken, which is why taking a pause between words is customary for the latter.

He-holo, pronounced hoe low, rhyming with yolo. Not pronounced hollow.

She-Sholo. Solo does not work. This is because that would be too confusing when solo, pronounced in a way that rhymes with yolo, is already a word, and a subpar Star Wars movie.

They- tholo, just to keep consistency with the she form. We use sounds, not letters to start the yolo forms.

It-drop the I. Olo. Why? Because you’re removing a human subject, you’re removing letter one.

You (plural)- because yolo is already an abbreviation, and all you plurals start with y, to avoid confusion, this one is y’allolo.

We-wolo. The we form is a bit special: strong emphasis on the wo. Because whoaaaa. Y’know? Y’whoa?

PAST TENSE- add ded to the end of the present form. The reason is after you lived once, you dead.

PRESENT PARTICIPLE-add wing to the end of the normal present form.

Fun fact: Yodelayheehoo is a scottish word that originates from yolo.

Wolo, so it’s important to yolo right, before you guys lose the chance to y’allolo and regret it. Or your children will believe that thdolo. What does thdolo mean? Well that’s something advanced for you to learn in the next lesson.

You know what’s really funny to me? There’s this saying in Latin that pretty much translates to “let us live since we must die”. “Vivamus moriendum est.”

It’s comical to me that the English equivalent is basically YOLO.

TMI Tuesday!

Helloooo friends! My inbox is open for all the things. Also, some updates:

-An Ever-Fixed Mark is complete T.T I loved writing it so much, I never wanted it to end. But with new endings come new beginnings and absolutely cursed and unhinged sequels so....potentially be looking out for that >> xD

-Wrong Number is going to go back to updating once a week for a bit because I am taking a (brief) (flexible) hiatus from writing fic while I work on an original project. If I go down to once a week, then I won't have to take a hiatus from POSTING fic xD

-NEW FIC COMING TO YOU: A nostelle fic with Barney Thomson and possibly maybe potentially an unhinged accursed AU sequel to An Ever-Fixed Mark. The nostelle will probably be posted next Wednesday unless I decide that it's starting this week. WE'LL SEE. we'll see. never say never amirite?

To be honest, Yuichi is having a great time. Of course it's a little frustrating to clearly not be quite as good at this game as he remembered (or perhaps he just had just been playing against easy CPU opponents). But he's never been great at fighting games, mostly just button-mashing along with a couple familiar moves.

He gets a few good tail-smacks in, but has a poor time trying to stay on the platforms. Even when he occasionally manages a thunderbolt hit, he isn't experienced enough to know how to take advantage of it, so overall his performance is PIKAPIKA-piss-poor.

But, he doesn't really care all that much, because honestly, it's just nice to hang out with a friend and not worry about much else. If getting his ass handed to him in Smash is the most of his problems at the moment, it's a good time.

"Wow, you're really good," he remarks after his fifth straight loss, party hat-wearing Pikachu clapping in the background on-screen. "Definitely better than the easy mode bots..." (It's a joke, even if it's true).
