Here’s a list I posted a year ago. And here’s a few more recent smut fics. I’ve definitely got some others I’ve been reading, and you can search the “fanfic rec” tag on my blog to find some others I’ve linked!  Or you can browse my bookmarks, though I have to admit, I haven’t read everything there.  I bookmark fics that catch my eye so I can come back to them later.  

One of the most recent fics I’ve gotten into is a Frans fic called Bestiality, but please be mindful of those tags because it has quite a few TW’s.   But Red is the literal monster under the bed, and yep, Frisk falls for him.  I love it.

Evil Scarecrows, Witches, and Nostalgia: A Starshine Legacy

While I feel like I’m more in the middle of the latest dramatic story arch in SSO rather than the end (when I usually post about these things), I’m kinda tired, but not tired enough to go to bed, but not awake enough to do much else, so let me fling some screencaps at y’all and tell you about my latest adventures. xD

Honestly, I hadn’t really ventured beyond the Wolves in Shadowhills until these quests made me and it turns out this is what lies beyond the North Iron Gate. xD It’s dark and a little bit creepy and hard to navigate because the bridges are narrow, but this is Cauldron Swamp, where the famous Pi lives! She turned Emberblaze into a stick horse and I’m still not okay with that. I don’t even care that she turned me into a toad or frog or whatever... She turned my beloved steed into a stick horse! NOT OKAY! THAT’S MY BOI! Yeah, I was... That wasn’t what I was expecting...

Also, this wild update is one of the best things since SSO itself. I used it a lot in its first days coming out, but now I’m back to riding around a la normal horse and rider. Partially because I’m a creature of habit. Partially because I really like my tack on most of my horses. And a lot because important shit started to go down, so I needed me and my bae Emberblaze to take on the world. Obvs. Well, tail Dark Riders, at least.

But lookit how cute my little bean was. He’s so handsome. And I love him. Also, is it just me or has there been a slight... hike in the amount of people I’ve seen riding their starters lately? Maybe it’s just the areas I was in... I don’t usually stop and investigate someone’s level on a regular basis to say whether or not it’s just because story things and not enough money or if it’s an actual thing. I wonder what most people think when I slide past them or beside them on my maxed out starter horse at level sixteen rocking up some story quests though. xD

Okay, Linda, I think, was supposed to be sitting a little further up and not kinda like... in... Emberblaze??? But this was still totally cool! We were riding with a Soul Rider from one of the original games! 8D My heart!! Tbh, I’ve almost replayed some of my Starshine Legacy episodes over Thanksgiving break because... reasons anddd.... this me being bored and tired, but not tired enough to go to bed hasn’t exactly been an unknown feeling over break, lol.

But I did, one night, play a little bit of Winter Riders and I’m somewhere between loathing that it doesn’t have some of the pretty changes of SSO and sighing in nostalgia. We could care for our horses anywhere we needed to and every stable had horses. Winter Riders, I think, was a pretty empty feeling game, granted its been a long time since I’ve played it completely because of my meh feelings towards it. I think it’s my least favorite of the four. I just really wish I knew where my copy of Autumn Riders ever went. >.> But hint: one of my great joys of SSO is that you can actually turn your horse without having to make them go forward first, which is not, in fact, something you can do in Winter Riders, and I think the other Riders games, too. I’m so used to being able to waddle around in a circle before I have to go forward and it’s... very helpful for not bouncing your horse’s nose off a wall or a fence sometimes, ya feel?

So let me just digress into my other nostalgia, too. So, I’ve finally reached the story bits including Scarecrow Hill and I actually got part way up the hill before a stupid live Scarecrow had to go and chase me out, the jerk. I’m in the process of researching with Linda how to appease these scarecrows (and break into Jarl’s Tomb, whoops, sorry, dude, just need to borrow something, yeah? >.>) so I can bounce up the hill and get a Golden Apple so Pi won’t turn my dear Emberblaze into a stick horse next time.

Like, dang it, girl, we have important questions to ask!! What are you doing to Justin’s horse??? Why are you turning my horse into a stick horse??? HE’S DONE NO WRONG, LEAVE HIM BE, HE’S MY BEAN. >.>

Anywhooo, so, of course, the events of Episode Four of Starshine Legacy are, much to my delight, mentioned in these quests - Alex doing the Scarecrow Hill race against Katja.

I also never thought I’d get one of the Star Stable Seasonal games reminiscent style hoodies in SSO, but I think this one (in the last pic) I found in Firgrove and I’ve been really feeling a red theme lately (also hence the change in tack... aka me taking it off of Windriver and putting it on whatever horse I happen to be riding, lol), so I got it and it actually goes nice with some of the stuff I got from the Lifetime store in Moorland, which was also mostly things I thought I’d never really use, but decided to try anyways because I really wanted a change. So, now I’m really feeling it! Though I could maybe use a different helmet... Still thinking about that one. It also puts me in mind of the standard look of the season Star Stable PC games, especially while riding Emberblaze, and I’m kinda down with it.

And usually I would ride Wintermint in Dino Valley, but since I was already up there today, I decided to take Emberblaze and just get it over with while I was in the area, lol. Plus, it’s the only wintery place currently in the game and I felt like I needed a more wintery snap of me and my favorite horse, so I figured a snap in the valley would suffice for now. xD

My crisis now that I’ve unlocked the Fjords though is whether I want a Fjord first or the North Swedish Horse in Goldenhills Stable I’ve been saving for. The Thanksgiving code shaved a week off of my saving for a North Swedish, so, with my current Star Coin count, saving for a Fjord would technically have been the same amount of weeks as I initially calculated for a North Swedish, and I would have about 40 left, so it’d just be another seven weeks before I could buy a North Swedish. I’ve kinda talked myself into getting a Fjord first with that, but I’m still not 100% sure. I think I’d be happy either way, it’s just a matter of what do I want first. xD

Because even as I’m writing this, I’m thinking of that giant floofy face at Goldenhills and leaning back towards the Norht Swedish. AND this is not even letting the fact that a new breed is probably coming out soon as SSO said they were releasing and Aideen knows I’ll probably want one of them, too. xD I’m thinking at least one variation of it will be going in at Fort Pinta because the bay Pintarabian was moved over beside the English Thoroughbred a little bit ago.

And even though its a bit late, I hope everyone had a good holiday, if you celebrate! :3 And even if you don’t, I hope you’ve had a good week/weekend/day, whatever you want to fill in there! :)

Alrighty, here’s the plan. Chickweed takes out the part-Steel types. Snowdrop and Daisy go for the pure Electrics. Draining Kiss may not be SE, but it’s also not resisted, and if she gets hit by Electric moves, up goes her sp.atk! Aggie, Milkweed, and Sequoia stay the fuck away :D (Especially the two WATER/FLYING types, yeesh.)

Inwards! Onwards!

Guitarist Kirk leads with Magnemite, level 16. Time for my level 25 Fire/Fighting type, haha. Next is Electrike, level 16. Snowdrop’s Bite is a OHKO! Bless being overlevelled.

Upstairs we go!

Youngster Ben has a single Electrike, level 17. Snowdrop (level 23) again OHKOs it. Nice.

Battle Girl Vivian has... a Meditite, oddly enough? Level 19. Normally I’d use Aggie, but this is an ELECTRIC gym, so gonna get Daisy in in case it does have an Electric - yup, Thunder Punch XD Ooh, that Draining Kiss will be extra painful :D Confusion gets in a bit of damage, another Draining Kiss heals most of it!

Guitarist Shawn leads with Voltorb, level 15. I am... not actually sure how Snowdrop bit it, but it’s a OHKO nonetheless XD Now another Voltorb, level 17. And another OHKO!

Holy shit yes Milkweed you can learn Mega Drain.

Time for Wattson!! Leads with Magnemite, level level 19. Bringing in Chickweed! He takes a Thunder Wave, annoying. Ooooh, Volt Switch, you pain in the arse. Voltorb next. It uses Charge, and Chickweed gets in a Double Kick that takes it out! Nice job! Magnemite back in, ANOTHER Volt Switch, yeah yeah yeah. Now it’s the Magneton, level 21 - right into the Flame Charge ;D Down to the reds, I assume Wattson will now heal up so I’ll do the same! Going for health, those Volt Switches do a fair bit of damage. Chickweed dodges Supersonic, but doesn’t get the Flame Charge out. Oof, this Supersonic hit, but so does Flame Charge! Back down to the reds for Magneton! Another Volt Switch I s2g... and Chickweed hits himself XD;; You know what dude let’s switch Daisy in briefly, haha. She tanks a few Tackles while I see to Chickweed, send him back in in fine form, and Magnemite is down to... 1 HP, Sturdy you dick. Another Thunder Wave then Volt Switch, really? Well that’s okay, Flame Charge just takes out Magneton instead XD Back to Magnemite, and it’s dooown!

That was moderately irritating, but still, done! :D

Also I now have a Gyarados.

Now that I have Rock Smash, to the north! To the desert! Prayer circle for a Trapinch, please please pleeeease...

Whoops, was hoping to avoid the trainers, haha. Picknicker Irene leads with a Plusle, level 16. This would be a lot easier with a Ground-type XD Snowdrop chomps on it. Next is Illumise, this is Chickweed’s! Level 18. Flame Charge eviscerates it.

Dangit! I can’t even get into the earliest parts ;_; Ugh fine into route 112 for plot - hey, Brendan! Free heal and Strength HM, though!

And the route catch is... a Numel XD Okay why not, haha. She shall be named Lithops.

Now for trainers! Camper Larry leads with a level 16 Taillow. Snowdrop is leading, Ice Fang does it. Next is - yikes, Zubat. Daisy can have this one! It’s level 18, Electro Ball takes it out.

Picknicker Carol has a level 19 Gulpin. Snowdrop Bites it, it uses Sludge, and she finishes it off with another Bite.

Hiker Trent leads with a Geodude, level 17. Since both my Water types are also part Flying, let’s stick with Snowdrop’s Ice Fang, haha. Another Geodude! Also level 17. Sturdy you dick. And finally, hold on to your asses, another level 17 Geodude! This time without Sturdy.

Hiker Brice leads with Numel, level 18. Sequoia still doesn’t have any Water moves, so this is Aggie’s! Next is Machop, level 18. Still Aggie’s! ...So I hit Water Pulse instead by accident, but it confused the Machop, and it... punched itself unconscious. That works XD

And now Aggie evolves!! :D

Looks like the Aquas are blocking the cable car? Cave it is, then! Fiery Path, so I can get a new friend! UGH IT’S A GRIMER. Okay, a new box-only Pokemon :| Oh whoops I OHKOed it. What a pity. What a shame.

Back in route 112! And a battle against Street Thug Jaylin, who has a Mightyena! Level 21. Mine’s 25, haha. Anyway, this is Chickweed’s.

And back to route 111? Well, okay! Ace Trainer Wilton leads with Electrike, level 20. Let’s try Daisy! Hmm, Draining Kiss doesn’t do THAT much, but it does at least keep healing the damage from its Quick Attack. Third time’s the charm! Next is BAGON <3 Level 20. Snowdrop’s Ice Fang is a OHKO. Last up is Makuhita, time for Aggie! Level 20. Takes two hits, but it’s down!

Backpacker Deon has a Linoone, level 21. You know, Milkweed hasn’t done much in a while? Mud Sport, okay, no problem there XD Odor Sleuth, ditto. Air Cutter gets it down to half, that works. Headbutt does a bit of damage, Air Cutter finishes it off. Nice :)

Oh jeez a Fairy Tale Girl. Fairy Tale Girl Cece has a... Spoink? That’s not a Fairy-type! Snowdrop it is, then, and assume she can tank any Fairy move. ...Or Confuse Ray, you pest. Bite fail XD;; Odor Sleuth does nothing, next Bite goes through! Next up is Mawile. Hooboy, this’ll be risky! Level 19, Chickweed is level 28, hopefully Flame Charge is a OHKO... not quite, oof. Vice Grip, that’s okay!! Next Flame Charge does it!

Okay, let’s see. I’ve been hella debating what to do between Aggie and Sequoia, since having both is a little redundant. Aggie makes use of both Fly and Surf, but Sequoia is the one who learns Dive, which is essential. Sequoia also has a better moveset overall (or, at least, will). With Edelweiss, I can use Fly on him, plus I’ll have a Fairy counter with STAB Steel moves, AND a Rock counter, as well as another Ice counter.

Sequoia doesn’t have any Water moves - yet. On the plus side, Surf is coming up at Petalburg Gym. So I think I’m going to keep using Aggie until I hit Lavaridge Gym and Mt Chimney, switch Edelweiss in so he doesn’t get left behind, level-wise, and switch out... Milkweed, who hasn’t really done much at this point. Then, once I finish Petalburg Gym, I’ll let Aggie retire!

Poke Maniac Steve has an Aron, level 23. Water Pulse gets it down to 1 HP, it roars and brings in Edel, it protects and then Edel finishes it!

Probably cheating to use the radar to try and find a Pokemon you want in a Nuzlocke lmfao. Okay fuck it I mostly wanted an Altaria because flying and I have Edel now, let’s just. Dive in XD And it is... Seviper, ew XD;; Off to the box, Rauvolfia!

WOOOOOOO DOUBLE FUCKIN DIGITS YO. This is fantastic. So last time we left off, Dirk and Jake were gay and dumb. Now we are getting into the most anticipated interaction yet, Rosejade. Yeah, it is quite watery. this is the post-scratch earth I believe, so that would make sense. I think, at least. I never know with all this time shit.

ROSE: (It certainly looks that way. It's just another unfortunate consequence of the scratch.) ROSE: (Though I think it might be a slight improvement over the barren ball of basalt our earth became after that cataclysmic meteor shower.) ROSE: (We’ll just have to make do.) ROSE: (We might want to do something about all that ocean, though.) ROSE: (At the very least to make the planet somewhat more aesthetically pleasing. Oh yeah, there’s gonna have to be a lot more land for all that LIFE. Do they have a way of making more land though? It’s probably not gonna be a problem, it’ll just be interesting to see how they do it I guess.

pfffft. Those snakes were awesome. And even if they are just a puzzle, that doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate what they are aesthetically! I mean, come on Rose. You gotta stop resenting things for what they’re supposed to be!

Wellll, I don’t know about that! I mean, yeah, they are game constructs and all. But like all the consorts, I think it’s safe to say they’re sentient as well! Sooo... Hm. Why would Jade’s Denizen have wanted her to take them all in the first place? I mean, to save them from Jack I suppose, but what’s the point if they would die from the big “your winner” screen at the end anyways?

They are a core mechanic of the game in their relationship with the maturity of the battlefield and the power of the black and white monarchs, and they don’t even have consciousness.) Hmm... thinking back at it, Rose sort of did treat Jade as just this object of mystery. Dave was always suspicious of her too, but Rose was seemingly always trying to point out when Jade said something that didn’t add up.

ROSE: (I was never a very good friend to you, Jade.) ROSE: (There were, and perhaps still are, some things about you that made me feel...) ROSE: (Insecure.)

Hmmm again.. I could understand insecurities in the past, but now Rose is practically on the same level as Jade. Is it a personality thing? because that doesn’t seem likely.

ROSE: (And, well. I was very petty, and allowed myself to wallow in jealousy while shoehorning you into another of my many imagined rivalries.)

Oh, damn. I guess I should have suspected something like that, considering how competitive Rose really can be when it comes to just about anything.

Legitimately smart, where I more often than not felt the need to pad my intellect with random facts I learned on the internet. DammIT, this is a large part of the reason I wanted them to interact. there was so much misunderstanding between them before, and once Rose finally knew how Jade did the things she did, it just went.. unmentioned.

JADE: (oh yeah... ugh, i thought i was soooo smart :\) JADE: (just thinking about all those dumb vague hints i used to drop makes me cringe!!)

I mean, it’s not like you didn’t always do what was best for your friends. Come on! You gotta feel a little smug when you understand all of the complicated bullshit about sburb. Even though you didn’t, in the end. you still thought you did. Plus you were 13. Nowhere near as mature as you are now. Which I suppose can be said for everybody, really.

This was a really fun Rosejade conversation though. We got to learn more about how they felt about eachother in the past, and how those feelings have changed since. And not to mention, some plot details on the plans for the new Earth.
