So at this point I'm half using the royal au to come up with worldbuilding for the world/kingdoms I'm creating as a general setting for various stories lol but I haven't figured out much of it yet so for now. Prince Andrew and Lord Abram are wishing you all a happy new year in our traditional western/etc style :)

(although I'll put some random thoughts below too 👀)

So far all I have is that the new year in this world falls on/is marked by DarkNight (maybe a working title maybe not) which is the night that both the world's moons are new, meaning it's as dark as its ever going to get. Which could be so fun for candle ceremonies, lights, lantern festivals, SO MANY COOL THINGS and I don't know if you know this but. I love space and stars so this is perfect for that too hehe

But ahhhhh a festival of lights and stars. Abram would love to gently torment Andrew with gifts and nice words on the day dedicated not to Palmetto's Prince Andrew but to Abram's star. Unofficially of course but that was never going to stop him 💕

When it comes to my favourite stand there is really only one answer. I love that Diavolo uses it so much that some people theorize he IS King Crimson. Blurring the line between stands and their users is really fun. It's such a weird stand design too. I love it.

What are some of your favorite Mulder headcanons?

Mulder headcanons! Here we go! Some are extremely surface level and some are weirdly deep, so this might be a bit of a rollercoaster.

The bedroom in Mulder's apartment is used as essentially a dumping ground/boxroom/shed up until S6 because when he first moved out of his parents house he took literally EVERYTHING that belonged to him that he wanted to keep. He had zero intention of going back there to live on a long-term basis, and between going to Oxford and then going straight into the FBI, he never had to. So he has almost everything that he owns in that apartment (excluding what's in the basement office), and that's why he needs a box room to keep the place vaguely liveably tidy.

The reason he could sacrifice the bedroom to this so easily is because ever since Samantha's abduction, he's found that he has fewer flashback nightmares about it when he's not sleeping in a bed. This is specifically because I prefer the original abduction story he used in the Pilot what randomly got changed in S2.

He didn't have any partners on the X-Files before Scully (I Do No See Diana), and so when he felt like he needed to discuss a case with someone, he recorded himself presenting to a camera and then reviewed the tapes to make more sense of his ideas. (I have explored this in a fic!)

I think his fear of fire as canonised in Fire is very real, he just learns to control it more as the series goes on

Also in this scene he says that he hardly ever drinks and I believe that. We hardly see him drinking alcohol on screen as far as I remember. Also in the bar scene in FTF, I don't know how many shots of whatever $86 would get you, but he is GONE. He would never normally monologue like that to a random stranger. Also, he fully gives the wrong address for either himself or Scully when he gets in the cab. He may have a high alcohol tolerance, but he hardly ever uses it.

This is more of an AU maybe, but I love the idea of him being a trans guy. It adds so much to his character and viewing the series through that lens gives meaning to a lot of throwaway remarks, particularly ones like in Tooms when he says he even asked his parents to call him Mulder (and they notably didn't!). There are many good fics about this in the Trans Mulder Literary Universe AO3 collection!

This is more about other people thinking about Mulder but I definitely think that Frohike and to an extent Skinner see Mulder as a surrogate son.

When Mulder gets hold of the modern version of PowerPoint OH BOY. Scully regrets the Microsoft subscription immediately. There is so much word art. He tries to build every entry and exit effect into every slideshow. He uses the origami bird transition and the turning-to-dust transition and all the other cheesy ones. None of his documents are under 100MB between either amount of slides or amount of pictures. His hard drive is full almost immediately because he tries to turn every case file into a presentation. And Scully sits through all of them, because she loves him.

Like me, he celebrates the New Year rather than Christmas or another religious holiday in that season (though I do love the popular Jewish!Mulder headcanon). It's still a secular holiday, he just has a few of his own traditions that he likes to observe every year. I have a fic planned where he shares them with Scully which I hope to write and share this year :)

So finally he tells her he’s a fire bender

And then the rest of it slowly starts to come out

He starts with his real name

And then his uncle’s name

And then the fact that he’s banished

Next that he has a sister

Then how the Fire Lord gave him his scar

And that he was raised in a …noble family

Aaaaaaand eventually she just figures it out

So then she knows about him

He’s hopelessly in love with this sweet, ridiculous, funny, and completely untamed girl that’s completely different from anything he’s ever known

And makes him feel like he can forget about his honor and his shame

And just relax into his body without remembering its blemishes

And she’s starting to realize that he’s adorable

Like

He’ll give her the strangest things

And do all sorts of Blue Spirit-y stuff

He teaches her how to fight

And she teaches him how to survive in the wilderness, something that he definitely couldn’t do beforehand

Like, she knows how to hunt

And fish

And skin kills

And he’s like, how do you know this with stars in his eyes

And she just looks at him and says, I was raised in a village on the outskirts of a forest, not sheltered in royal life like you sweetie

Now cut the loose skin over the shoulder blades, there’s a dear

So they survive like that

As it turns out, having a royal fire bender as a heat pack on cold nights beats curling up under a blanket and shivering

After a long time don’t freak out

And then we get a little Gaang interlude where Katara asks Uncle whatever happened to his nephew

And Uncle just smiles and says something along the lines of, well, the girls in Ba Sing Se were always so pretty

And everyone is just like "wut"

But he provides no more context

They get it out of him eventually

Zuko decides he needs to see his old home again

Just to give himself closure

Jin agrees and tells him to come back soon, because we have two young children and I cannot be responsible for them more than pushing them out of my body

So Iroh’s taking a break from all the Fire Lord-ness and playing Pai Sho with some old buddies

And a shadow falls over the board in between games

And this man, who holds himself so loosely and confidently

With smile-lined eyes and shaggy black hair hanging around his face and green clothes and work torn hands

And a faded burn scar over one eye

Asks him to a game of Pai Sho

And Iroh smiles wide enough to split his face

And accepts

I think a dish in the usual morning/early afternoon rotation would be savory oats, they actually don’t do sweet oatmeal often! And if they do it’s an infrequent occurrence for evening desserts :) some additional toppings could be meats, mushrooms, or sautéed veggies, but this is probably your “basic” version of the dish:

"I needed something to write with and I'm out of ink for my quill, Loftwing quills only take pumpkin ink." The skyloftian continues his ministrations before raising the pencil to his eye. Seemingly happy with its sharpness.

"Im sorry did you say pumpkin ink?" Wild's eyes sparkled with wonder. "You can make ink out of pumpkins?"

"Yeah!" Sky placed the pencil and his carving knife down. "You can mix pumpkin juice with water and a few other things and it makes a form of ink. It's a nice orange colour, here let me show you..." The Skyloftian pulled his bag out from behind him. pulling out a letter, it was decorated with orange patterns. "Here see." He pointed to the page "This is the pumpkin ink."

"Thats pretty cool! You think you could show me how to make it sometime?" His eyes lit up, a hopeful look across his face as he fiddled with his hands excitedly.
