All right, so. First of all, the main story this blog stems from can be found on @edward-hydes-letters !!! There are snippets relating to the main story here. However, Hyde/Jekyll’s RP and I have decided not to tag them under their tag, since they aren’t necessarily relevant to the story, as well as me not wanting to take away from their blog.

Secondly, I don’t like to break character often, so if anyone would like, I have a side blog on this account (@the-gentlemans-puppetmaster) for OOC discussions/chatting. <3

Honestly i really do get the feel that he was mad at Linuj for his treatment of the character (especially looking back at how he spoke of her in his Dr mean girls post) and that clouded his judgement when it came to inserting Kizuna in the story which led to him wanting to fix her by changing core aspects of the characters from the get go instead of starting off with those and having them adressed and subsequently fixed during her development. This is the same issue i had with some people who were going like "I hope they change Kizuna" when news of the Dra remake started coming about because to me the issue isn't necessary on her character, just the way Linuj treats her and goes about writing her.

Tho in Asoot specifically i do feel like she was also affected by the blog's rapidly building ships, as you mentioned, which is a shame since Yuki and Kizuna can work as a pairing but time is something they really need in order for it to work without coming off as odd or having issues.

This sorta thing is something I tried to avid when i started writing -2+2, like it's blatantly obvious to anyone that knows me that it's a Hatamori fic but when i started to wtite it a just that i really didn't like how it was turning out because while i was writing a pairing i like a lot it just came off as really OOC for both parties because Kizuna changed too abruptly and i basically completed ignored Ayame and Akane's bond. So i scrapped this first oneshot and went on to make it into something bigger because if i wanted to write these characters in a way that feels engaging and believable i need to give them more time, so much so that the entirely of Ch3 (from the Ayame and Kizuna aspect) was spend just building up their friendship on top of the character's individual struggles/arcs and the overall narrative of the killing game happening as well, to the point that it's only the most recent chapter that romance-y things are starting to come to play, and even then it isn't even anything huge. And i like it a lot better this way because now that i set up this foundation for the pairing actually getting to write these kinds of moments is a lot more fun to me than if i had already started pairing them up like that from the get go.

//Like yes LINUJ has some... interesting viewpoints to put it mildly and Bubbles hated how LINUJ viewed Kizuna as a shallow gold digger and nothing more, but this really did affect his portayal of Kizuna as it seems like the canon roots of Kizuna...weren't there, as even when she first showed up in Connections, she was already not a total bitch like she is in Danganronpa Another, which given the memory wipe, is what we would consider baseline Kizuna.

//The idea that the remake will change Kizuna is stupid since again, all the remake is doing is making some not so clear points more clearer. Given how HORRENDOUS the original Danganronpa Another translation is, its very much needed. I have been neglecting it but I have been commenting on Creeper's Dangancember countdown, and when he got to A-5, I mentioned how Mikako's death was completely ruined because the dogshit translation made it unclear on how she died. Like did she take poison so she died before Monokuma could execute her as the trial was rigged? Or was it the emotions she was experiencing that were overloading her brain and cause her to bleed as a result? Its not made clear whatsover and it massively diminishes the emotional impact.

//All the remake's writing will do is be more accurate to the source material, probably change some nicknames in the process (RIP Kobazang and Mitch) and not have stupid translations errors. Got a problem with the actual writing? Too bad, its gonna stick around. At the end of the day the Danganronpa Another remake is more of a visual upgrade then a story telling one.

//If there is one major criticism I can give to Bubbles' writing pre-Puppetmaster, is that he really does focus more on ships then actual bonds. As you mentioned Yuki/Kizuna is easily a viable ship, but it does need time to cook, which ASOOT failed to do so. Fortunately in the improved writing for the hypothetical video game adaptation, one major takeaway is that the ships take a lot longer to develop. Yuki/Kizuna could still happen, again player choice means they could just stay friends. But if they do, or you are in the canon mode, its way more of a slow burn.

//And yes, having slow burns means that you don't completely ignore the other bonds like Ayame has with Akane, and you can add and develop the impact of those bonds. While I don't really plan on adding any actual relationships in the Voidship, if they do occur it will be the result of a friendship, one that has been around for a while, slow burning into a relationship.

//There's quite a few friendships forming on the Voidship at the moment, and come next arc, well...you already know what one I'm gunning for and it will be quite interesting.

Oh yeah, they definitely dislike eachother. Rachel definitely hates Harvey more though- Harvey is the one person that Mike will put ahead of Rachel's happiness (see Season 5b, Rachel begged him to turn on Harvey and he wouldn't do it- and freaked out to the point where she panicked and dropped it with him). I think Rachel hates Harvey more because of this fact alone, and she partially wanted to move to Seattle to get Mike away from Harvey.

Rachel only really got Mike in the first place because he was fighting with Harvey. Hell, she wouldn't have even glanced in his direction if Harvey hadn't hired him and given him a chance to make something of himself. She acts like Harvey seduced Mike into it, corrupted him, whatever, and she really only blames Harvey for the whole thing when Mike could have walked at any time after his grandmother died. But no, Harvey is evil. Especially after he doesn't pay enough attention to her as his associate because he really just wants Mike back. He doesn't see how special she is as a rule, and it pisses her off.

Maybe it's because Harvey knows Mike can do better than Rachel. He was the one that Mike ran to when Rachel cheated, who gave him a place to land- away and seperate from her. He called out her behavior with logan as cheating at the mock trial. We know that Harvey really doesn't like that sort of beahvior and it was very ooc for him to tell Mike to forgive her (and very much Donna playing puppetmaster if you ask me- she was clearly on Team Rachel). Rachel helped Logan cheat before and encouraged Louis to cheat later- but gave Mike shit about his relationship with Tess before they were even together.

I also think that Harvey has a tendency to think no one is good enough for Mike.

No because Harvey and Rachel's relationship on the show is honestly so... interesting? The weird tension and the condecending, passive aggressive quips? Because on one hand you have Rachel constantly fighting with Mike over him choosing and valuing Harvey's opinions over hers (rightfully so, tbh. I understand where she's coming from) like prison and leaving the firm for example. And on the other hand, you have Harvey who never seemed to like Rachel especially since they were together (ex. Harvey getting mad at Mike for telling her "their secret"). Like both of them showing up at the apartment right after Mike went to prison and both of them saying they miss him? I believe there's a good amount of evidence to confirm my suspicions that they didn't like each other because of what each of them meant individually to Mike.
