soooo like idk if u write angst. But from ur page i feel like u would be good at it. Maybe like a theo x slytherin!reader who like gets bullied by them and it’s kinda unrequited love and one day she gets entirely done with them and doesn’t leave her room for a while because something happened. Then classic theodore nott goes for a smoke seeing her alone in the courtyard or something and feels a little bad and they talk and he realizes how much of a dick him and his friends are because reader “is so done with all the shit” and plans to try and leave
bully theo nott x slytherin reader
angst
not exactly sure what to title this one but i hope it’s enjoyable, i don’t do angst much but it’s so much funnn

while going to hogwarts seemed to have been most young wizards escape, you unfortunately didn’t have the luxury of seeing it that way. ever since you’ve started at hogwarts and were sorted into slytherin you haven’t had such an easy time. granted now that you’re a 6th year you have a few friends, however one thing stayed the same since you’ve started; you were constantly bullied by the most popular of the slytherins.
you genuinely didn’t understand what made them dislike you so much, you didn’t agree with their pureblood praises though you were a pureblood yourself. maybe it could’ve been the fact that you weren’t necessarily the richest, coming from a lower class wizarding bloodline nobody knew of your family and simply getting the money together for your school supplies was often a challenge.
you tried everything you could to drown out any bullying, trying your best not to let any of it effect you or your studies. unfortunately due to you also being a slytherin not even your common room was an escape for you.
walking out your dorm as quietly as possible you held a book tight to your chest tiptoeing down the stairs making your way to a secluded chair, you sat down in front of the low fire and read to yourself silently for a few minutes before hearing laughter echoing from down the hall muffled voices becoming clearer and clearer.
trying to ignore the voices you regrettably recognized you kept your head down and in your book, not even reading the words simply trying to keep your breath at an even pace. “mate is that y/n” said a muffled voice. not looking up you closed your eyes tightly really hoping to be left alone. you had hoped coming down at one in the morning would give your freedom, not anxiety.
before you could process it there were footsteps heading towards you and a flick on your forehead “are you that dumb that you can’t even read a book, i mean don’t know your eyes have to be open for that” mattheo laughed at his own joke elbowing theo who was egging him on chuckling himself. “don’t touch me.” you gritted through your teeth still sitting looking at both of the mocking boys.
you attempted to get up and rush off to your dorm but mattheo grabbed your arm “you didn’t answer my question, that’s soo rude” he mocked still gripping your left wrist. “let me go” you protested struggling to get your arm free as theodore watched snickering. “alright let her go i’m trying to smoke” theo huffed snatching the back of mattheos jacket and dragging him along.
a large breath you had no idea you were holding onto fell out of your mouth the second they were gone. you plopped right back down into the cold leather chair and silently sobbed. so many thoughts ran through your head about how differently you should’ve handled the situation, how you should’ve shoved him harder, maybe you should’ve screamed, maybe if you just knew how to stand up for yourself. maybe you were stupid?
everything these boys did effected you so much to the point you became a shell of the person you were. your grades weren’t the worst, but the more the boys would mock, the more they’d tell you how dumb you were that you were a lost cause, you unfortunately began to believe it even if you didn’t admit it to them directly. never giving them the satisfaction of seeing you break down, never letting them know how it effects you.
“i think you might need a jumpscare warning, next time don’t come to class if you wake up like that” draco mocked giving you a disgusted look the second you sat down on the end of the slytherin table. a small eruption of laughter fell from all of the boys and their little follower pansy parkinson. “you guys have no clue i swear this morning her eyes were so swollen she looked like she got stung by a bee” she snickered trying to gain the boys attention.
not wanting to deal with this today you got up and walked out of the great hall not looking back. you didn’t feel like you had the mental capacity to deal with them and so you made your way to the only place you knew you could breathe.
you made sure to watch out for any oncoming professors and for filtch, knowing you’re not supposed to be out on the astronomy tower at this time of day or year. the walk was as long as ever and luckily most of the halls were empty besides a few students making their way to the great hall.
finally reaching the million stairs you made your way up to the tower slowly walking up taking your time. you began to think about everything these people put you through, thinking about how much everything they do makes you hate yourself and this school more and more everyday.
not a day went by that you weren’t picked on at least once by one of them, this realization and sad reality made a stream of tears fall down your face as your legs walked up the stairs starring down onto the wooden steps.
just as you were beginning to reach the top of the steps you quietly sniffed smelling an odd odor. you couldn’t quite put your finger on what you were smelling but you continued till you were at the ledge of the astronomy tower sitting down. you sat looking out towards the clouds covering the sun and tried to control your breathing and stream of tears.
once your tears began to dry up you noticed a thick trail of smoke coming from the right of you. you looked behind you and there stood theodore nott. he walked over cautiously, and here you were coming face to face with someone you definitely did not want to see. “ah, y/n what brings you here” he spoke taking a drag of what appeared to be a cigarette. you didn’t know wether to answer or just leave but you spoke out cautiously “attempting to get away from you and your goons” you huffed turning back around to face the clouds.
“come on, you know i don’t bite” he chuckled and you just shook your head in annoyance looking back up at him, “you don’t bite yet you’ve bullied me for over six years makes perfect sense theodore” you rolled your eyes standing up to face him. “seriously.-“ he scoffed “you know i’m like the least brutal of them i don’t even touch you” he added taking another drag. it was almost as if he was mocking you even more without even realizing it.
“i don’t care if you think that just because you don’t fucking touch me that it makes it okay?? you watch your friends bully, touch, and harass me nearly everyday what about that makes you any less of an awful person than them.” you let it all out with more emotion that intended yet the small tears coming out were nothing but anger induced.
“listen y/n i didn’t think it affected you that bad we make fun of so many people” he shrugged scratching the back of his head not sure how to react to your outburst of emotions. “that’s your problem, you don’t ever realize that you’re bullying your own housemate. you and those fuckers haven’t left me alone since year one and for what? all because i stood up to a fucking bleach blonde bitch? like seriously you take orders from a daddy’s boy and a guy who’s practically an orphan.” your voice was getting louder and louder, soon enough you were face to face with him just yelling.
“look y/n im sorry okay i swear, i don’t like doing it alright why do you think i never touch you i try to get these fucking assholes to leave you alone you’re just an easy target to them” he tried pleading with you but you weren’t having any of it. “what makes you think i’ll believe you?” you scoffed “you’re trying to excuse yourself all because i stood up for myself?? and what exactly do you do to get them to leave me alone because that obviously isn’t working” your tears dried back up and now just pure anger was holding you together.
“you see when i tell them just to come on, and most times they just say something to you and don’t even touch you.” he was searching your face but your expression stayed the same “have you ever heard of telling them to just stop? and what about me seems like an easy fucking target” you didn’t know what to even ask of him anymore not even understanding yourself why you were still standing here.
“y/n come on.” he looked at you but you didn’t budge just awaiting his response. “you said it yourself you stood up to malfoy, he didn’t like that so it started it. listen overtime it got more than that i guess matt went at you cause your grades are- were better than his . and well pansy goes after you because you’re hotter than her, blaise just goes along, and enzo does whatever enzo does.” he shrugged attempting to explain this twisted reasoning.
“well why do you go after me? because all of this shit seems so unserious for all of you to make me want to leave hogwarts and even this world all together.” you scoffed still heated at these other absurd reasons. he looked at you for a moment contemplating before he sighed “look i really am sorry i didn’t know it was that bad” he pleaded ignoring your question.
“i don’t care if you’re sorry or not that doesn’t take back all of these years theodore. and besides you don’t even have the fucking balls to tell me why you bully me so obviously you don’t feel sorry” you began walking away from him and he reached out grabbing your arm “y/n i just told you so many times i tried getting them to stop, look i don’t know why and i don’t expect you to feel the same but i just over the years ive wanted you more and more and look i just knew i couldn’t ever have you.” he loooked away yet still held onto your arm.
you stood there almost in shock. here you were complaining about everything your bullies put you through to one of those said bullies, and he confessed his crush on you. you didn’t respond just staring at him. “what.” you managed to let out. “i know it’s insane.” he sighed “look i don’t expect you to forgive me but i’ll try and get them to back off.” he spoke up letting go of your arm and walking off.
you didn’t follow or speak up to him, just allowing him to make his way back wherever he came from. sitting back down at the railing you took a deep breath trying to piece together what exactly just happened.

Stolen For Love
an anon asked for Ellie with Sweet Cheeks, so bringing this sweet little family back... and @notinmyvocab just wanted Sweet Cheeks in general... so I present to you, fluff.

When Ellie is in second grade, she’s placed in Janine’s classroom. With Melissa being her mother, it wasn’t in the question to put her in your wife’s classroom; apparently nepotism and favoritism is something that Abbott takes seriously- one of the few things that your school takes seriously. You supposed that it would be quite odd for your daughter to be in your class next year too, although you hope to God that your grade level partner does well with her.
It’s also the year that Janine has somehow managed to convince the district to give you funds for class pets.
At first, Melissa had been beyond resistant to the idea. You begrudgingly took in a hamster. You had to choke back your laughter when Gregory was ecstatic to get his requested pet rock.
You’re fairly certain that your wife was in the clear in terms of getting a pet- Janine hadn’t said anything else to you in regards to the fact that the redhead wanted nothing to do with a pet.
But then, just by chance, Melissa ends up passing the library while her counterpart is still handing out animals. She calls for your wife. And for some unknown reason, the redhead makes her way in. She exits with a guinea pig. And she looks pissed beyond belief.
You take your little rodent with you to catch up with the woman with a significantly bigger rodent. “Hun, I thought you said that weren’t going to give in even if Janine tried to push it on you.”
She huffs. “Yeah, well… her kids were talking to mine the other day when she was prepping her kids for it, and now… I look like the asshole if I don’t give my kids a stupid ass class pet.”
You smile at her sympathetically. “Trust me, I don’t want it either, but…”
“I can’t believe I was happy when pipsqueak decided to come back to Abbott,” your wife grumbles.
“Hey,” you nudge her gently. “You love her.”
“She’s damn lucky.”
“And I heard her say that she would take care of it for you.”
“An’ if she doesn’t keep her end of the deal up, I’m gonna end up with a dead guinea pig and a class full of sad kids.”
You roll your eyes playfully. “I’m sure that Janine will go above and beyond for that guinea pig of yours. She tries to go above and beyond in everything she does.”
“Yeah,” your wife huffs. “That’s how we got into this stupid mess in the first place.”
Come the end of the day, your third graders are absolutely infatuated with that little rodent on yours in the classroom. They’ve named her Squeaky- how original. Each one of your students passes by the cage with a sweet “Have a good night, Squeaky!” as you lead them out to the front of the school for dismissal.
Melissa comes out with her students not much later, and she looks beyond pissed. You have to say, you didn’t think a guinea pig would disrupt her class flow as much as she’s making it seem it is. You make your way over with a smile, hoping that will soften her up before you go home for the night.
“How was the rest of your day?” you tread waters lightly. She just presses a soft kiss to your head in response.
Ellie comes bouncing over with the brightest grin on her face. “Moms!” She launches herself at you- you catch her; you always do.
“Hi, my sweet,” you bury a kiss in her wild hair. “How was school today?”
“Miss Teagues got us a guinea pig! Her name is Miss Piggy!” Ellie announcing with a beaming smile.
“She would name it that,” the redhead mutters to you, nudging you gently.
You just smirk. “She really would.”
It takes a few more minutes for all of your students to be picked up, and then you’re heading back inside to gather your things for the night. You make sure that Squeaky is loaded up on food and water before flicking off the lights and heading to the room next door. You can hear the guinea pig in the redhead’s room squeaking incessantly.
“He’s so cute, Mom!” Ellie grins up at Melissa as she holds the furry animal with such care.
“He’s lucky,” your wife grumbles.
“Miss Piggy won’t let us hold her,” your daughter tells her other mother seriously. “She bites Miss Teagues.”
“Well, Sweet Cheeks knows that if he bites me, he’s being flung against the-” the redhead stops herself before she can finish her sentence. “Nevermind.”
“I think Sweet Cheeks needs a nice house,” Ellie suggests as she puts the animal back in his cage. “And better food. And a cooler water bottle.”
The guinea pig squeaks, whether that be in agreement or because he’s upset that he’s been put back into his holding cell for the night, nobody knows- but your little girl squeals. “See? Even Sweet Cheeks agrees.”
Melissa looks down at her class pet with warm eyes. “You really want to do that?” You’re not sure if she’s speaking to the rodent or to your daughter, but your little girl replies.
“Please!” Ellie begs, and her puppy dog eyes are strong. Sweet Cheeks squeaks.
You watch your wife pet the little critter through the cage before checking that he has enough food and water to last him until tomorrow. “I guess we’re going to the pet store tonight for a stupid pet I didn’t even want.”
You opt to stay home and cook dinner while your daughter drags your wife out to the pet store a few blocks down. You manage to get the meal out of the pot and plated, put on the dinner table, and they still aren’t home yet.
You put the plates in the microwave and oven to keep them warm before settling on the couch with some of the papers that you’ve yet to look over. It’s still a bit of time before the two walk in- or rather, Melissa walks in with multiple bags while Ellie skips in with a lollipop in her mouth.
“Melissa…” you furrow a brow. Then you look to your little girl .”Elizabeth.”
“Mom said I could!” your daughter protests immediately, pointing a finger at her other mother.
“She was good in the stores,” the redhead tells you. “It’s a lollipop hun. It’s not like it’ll spoil dinner.”
“Stores?” your furrowed brow turns into a raised brow.
Melissa sighs and drops the bags- you can immediately see that one is from the pet store and the other is from Michael’s. “The huts that they had for the guinea pigs were shit, so El and I are gonna make a better one for Sweet Cheeks after dinner.”
“Oh?” you chuckle.
“It’s gonna be the best house that a guinea pig has ever had!” Ellie announces with a grin.
“Well, you two better start eating dinner,” you laugh as you set your papers aside and go to pull the meal out of where you had stored it.
Dinner is wonderful, and then your two favorite people clear it and begin to set out on this quest that they’ve created for themselves while you settle back down on the couch to finish your grading.
It’s a couple of hours later, and they still aren’t finished, but you know that your daughter has to get in the shower and get ready for bed.
Your little girl protests immediately, wanting Sweet Cheeks to have that home ready as soon as possible- she claims that the little hut the district had offered up just wouldn’t do. When you questions if her classroom pet was okay with it and why Sweet Cheeks wouldn’t, Ellie’s face sours. “Momma, Sweet Cheeks is fancy,” is all she offers you.
Melissa has to bite back her laugh. “El, go on upstairs and shower and get ready for bed. I’ll finish up his hut, and we’ll take it in tomorrow, okay?”
Your daughter grumbles something as she hands your wife her part of the hut and heads up the steps towards the bathroom.
“Comb your hair too!” you call up after her.
Only when your daughter is in the shower do you unfold your legs out from under you and make your way back into the dining room to see what creation they’ve started. This hut is… whether your wife wants to admit it or not, she’s falling in love with the little critter in her room. She’s so focused on making this wooden house that she completely misses the fact that you’ve walked into the room. Only when you lay a gentle hand on her shoulder and press a kiss to her head does she realize that you’re right next to her.
“Jesus,” she gasps out as she jumps about a foot in the air. “Warn me next time!”
“Hun, I walked in front of you to get next to you, and I wasn’t quiet about it at all,” you chuckle. “Seems like you’re really into this hut building.”
Green eyes are rolled before she looks up at you. “I’m only doin’ this because your daughter thinks it’s necessary.”
“Mhmm,” you hum. “Sure, babe. Well, I’ll let you get back to it, but you’ll take a break if you aren’t finished to help me put El to bed?”
“You know I never miss the bedtime routine,” your wife promises as she glues another popsicle stick together.
Ellie comes jumping down the steps about twenty minutes later and immediately tries to run over to the craft.
“You just showered, little girl,” you cut in. “Come sit with Momma.”
“But I-”
Melissa comes into the room with the finished product behind her back. “It’s done anyway, hun.” She pulls it out in front of her and presents it with a smile. “Come sit with me and your momma while we do some grading.”
Your daughter investigates the redhead’s handiwork for a few seconds before smiling and snuggling up to you.
The next morning, Ellie skips into your wife’s classroom with the supplies that they had bought for the guinea pig. She greets Sweet Cheeks with the softest voice, and her giggle is absolutely precious when he allows her to pick him up.
Together, your daughter and your wife situate the cage to their liking before your little girl takes the rodent to the back corner with a book and begins reading to him. When you catch Melissa taking a picture of the two of them and then joining them, you keep quiet.
Lunch is filled with your wife complaining about the guinea pig that she ‘just had to do so much for’. There’s a sparkle in your eye- she wouldn’t be making this much of a deal okay out of it if she truly hated the animal. She would ignore it in the way that she ignores people she can’t stand.
And then by the end of the day, you get a text that tells you Melissa had to leave just a few minutes early because she forgot she had an appointment, and she’s so sorry that you and Ellie will now have to take the bus or walk back home. You’re just the slightest bit confused when you read that message- she hadn’t written any appointments on the calendar for today. Still, you shrug and continue on for the last few minutes of the day.
At dismissal, Janine has your wife’s class, and she looks… why does she look like she knows something that she probably shouldn’t?
Ellie makes her way over to you with a smile that quickly turns into a frown when she doesn’t see Melissa standing next to you as she usually does. “Where’s Mom?”
“We’re going to have to walk back home today,” you tell your little girl with a ruffle to her hair. “Mom forgot she had some sort of appointment.”
“That’s what she’s calling it?” Janine cuts in. Then she hums suspiciously and walks away.
You roll your eyes- your shorter coworker can be so odd sometimes. With a shrug, you usher your daughter back into the building to gather your things. You’re not looking forward to this walk home. It’s getting colder, and you have quite a few things to lug back home with you to go through.
Luck seems to be on your side though, because Melissa’s name lights up your phone as you’re attempting to get Ellie to stop trying to pick up the hamster in your own classroom and out of the room.
“Melissa Schemmenti,” you grumble. “You better have a good reason to have abandoned me at work.”
“I didn’t,” your wife tells you. “I’m sitting out front- my appointment got canceled, so I came back to drive you and El home.”
“We’ll be out as soon as Elizabeth puts down Squeaky,” you tell the redhead, although you are giving your daughter a pointed look. How she got your hamster to let her hold it, you will never know.
Your little girl scrunches her nose at you, but she does listen. And then the two of you are heading out the front doors of the school, and there is the smiling redhead.
You get Ellie into the car and put your things in the back with her before sliding into the passenger seat, pecking your wife’s lips as you do so.
“Sorry for the confusion,” Melissa mumbles against your lips.
You chuckle. “Just be lucky I didn’t have to walk home with all of this shit, or I would’ve been a lot more pissed.”
The redhead knows that you are not going to be happy with her decision to bring home the guinea pig that she snuck out of her classroom- the real reason she left early for the day. So, she makes the choice to really attempt to butter you up- put you in a good mood so when you discover what she’s done, she won’t face your wrath to its full extent.
“I was thinking that maybe we go out for dinner tonight?” Melissa suggests softly.
You lift a brow. “What do you want from me that you’re buttering me up?”
Your wife smirks. “Nothin’. Just think we deserve to go out tonight- especially with the crap we’ve been dealing with from the district.”
“Like the class pets?”
“And other stuff,” the second grade teacher tells you. “Now c’mon, d’you wanna go out tonight or not?”
“I think that sounds nice,” you concede. “Where?”
“Where do you want to go?”
You, your wife, and your daughter all end up in one of your favorite cozy little diners in the city. It’s exactly the meal that you were hoping it would be- warm and cozy and filled with laughter.
But then you come home, and Melissa stops you from entering the house before she does. She goes as far as grabbing your hand off of the front door knob.
“Mel,” you roll your eyes. “C’mon. I’m full, I’m tired, I have to shower.”
“Just- just promise me you won’t be mad?” your wife says, and she almost sounds nervous- scared.
“What did you do?” your eyes widen, yet your brows furrow.
“Nuh-uh,” Melissa shakes her head. “Promise me you won’t be mad.”
“Did you kill someone?”
“I kind of did the opposite,” your wife shrugs.
You grumble under your breath, “What the fuck does that even mean?” and push the front door open. Almost immediately, you hear a squeaking noise that can only mean one thing.
“Melissa Ann Caterina Schemmenti,” you shout. “Did you actually steal Sweet Cheeks and bring him home?”
“You did what?!” Ellie also shouts, but her tone is much more excited than yours is. “Sweet Cheeks is here?!” Your little girl entirely abandons your side to follow the sound of the guinea pig noises and find her furry friend.
“Melissa!” you whip around and point an accusatory finger at her. “Tell me you didn’t.”
The redhead stays quiet.
“Melissa!”
Finally, she throws her hands in the air in surrender. “Okay, I did. But hear me out.”
“What am I supposed to hear you out about?” you ask her in disbelief. “You brought that rodent into our house when it’s supposed to-”
“Honey, I’m sorry, but I-”
“But you what?” you plant your hands on your hips.
Your wife has to stop herself from telling you how attractive you look when you’re pissed with her. “I just… I thought about how he was so sad when El put him back in his cage yesterday, and Janine told me the kids would take turns taking him home, and I… I fell for the little booger. I don’t want him getting hurt or nothin’.”
“Mom!” Ellie comes running into the room, and she’s all giggles as the little ball of fur cozies up to her chest. “Look! Sweet Cheeks is so happy to be getting extra Ellie cuddles!”
“I’m sure she is, El,” Melissa chuckles, and then she looks at you. “Look how happy the kid is, and Sweet Cheeks is gettin’ love in a safe space.”
You pinch the bridge of your nose between your thumb and forefinger as you close your eyes, sighing loudly. “Melissa.”
“I did what I thought was right,” the redhead stands her ground.
You look up at the ceiling. “You thought stealing the guinea pig from your classroom was right?”
“You stole Sweet Cheeks?” Ellie asks with wide eyes. Her hand stills on the guinea pig.
“What are you going to tell your students?” you ask.
At that, your wife bites her lip and hesitates. “I’ll- I’ll have to give them the death talk.”
“You’re going to fake the death of your class pet and give them a wrongful death talk?” you ask her incredulously.
Melissa shrugs. “It’s a talk I would have to give inevitably when one of their other pets kills him. This way, at least he has a fighting chance.”
“You’re crazy, you know that?” you ask her, although she can tell that you’re about to give in.
“And you love me for it,” your wife replies cheekily. “So, what do you say? Can we keep him?”
Ellie repeats the question, puppy dog eyes big and sweet, pleading.
You groan as you know you’re going to give into their pleas. “Fine. But I was not part of this kidnapping, and the two of you are taking care of him. I’m not lifting a damn finger when it comes to him.”
You’re immediately being attacked with hugs and kisses, and even Sweet Cheeks squeaks in approval and thanks.
“El,” Melissa says seriously though. “You gotta keep the secret that he’s here. If anyone finds out that I took him, I’m gonna be in some trouble.”
Your daughter mimes zipping her lips. “If anyone asks, Sweet Cheeks is dead.”
“Good girl,” your wife ruffles her hair. “Now c’mon. I think we have some things to hash out with his new cage.”
“You got a new cage?!” you yell as the two go running off to settle the guinea pig in.
The next day, Janine is all over your wife. She’s figured out that Melissa took the guinea pig, despite Ellie’s insistence that she saw the guinea pig belly up this morning when you all came into the school.
Eventually, the redhead confesses, and your little girl looks absolutely miserable when Janine tells her she has until lunch to bring him back.
Your wife begrudgingly brings Sweet Cheeks back to Abbott, but then she somehow manages to convince Janine to let her keep the original Sweet Cheeks and she’ll front the bill for another guinea pig for the class.
So, when you leave the school, Ellie is holding the rodent in her arms with so much happiness in her heart, and Sweet Cheeks squeals with excitement. You can’t help but smile at how happy this stupid little guinea pig makes your daughter, and also your absolutely ridiculous wife.
That day after school, Melissa goes out and buys another guinea pig that looks similar to Sweet Cheeks, but both she and Ellie can identify a few differences to tell them apart upon closer inspection.
“It’s like twins,” your wife chuckles. “Always got at least two differences to tell ‘em apart.”
The next morning, you, your wife, your daughter, and the replacement for Sweet Cheeks load into the car and head off towards Abbott Elementary.
You think that the problem is solved between your wife and her grade level partner in regards to class pets, but come the end of the day, Melissa picks up her belongings and the guinea pig that she has affectionately started calling ‘Honey Buns’.
“Melissa, we are not stealing another guinea pig,” you sigh heavily.
The redhead grins, as does your daughter. “We ain’t stealin’ him. Me an’ my class talked, and we all agreed that with my students’ other pets at home, it wouldn’t be fair to the guinea pig, so we’re takin’ Honey Buns home, an’ I told Janine I’ll take a pet rock like her weirdo of a boyfriend.”
“We are not taking Honey Buns home,” you try to put your foot down, but you already see the way that Melissa has grown attached to this guinea pig, and if Ellie’s giggles as she tries to share a piece of carrot with the animal is any indication, you know you’re going to end up with two new pets in the house.
“Momma, please!” your daughter starts to plead, only for the vegetable to fall from her mouth. She just barely manages to catch it before feeding it to Honey Buns. “Please! Mom and I- we’ll take care of him, just like we’re going to take care of Sweet Cheeks!”
You groan as you run a hand through your hair. “I hate you guys,” you grumble as you turn on your heel to start walking out of the school.
“No you don’t!” Melissa calls after you.
Ellie runs after you and all but tackles you in a hug, looping her arms around your waist. “You love us.”
“You’re lucky,” you roll your eyes as you lean down to plant a kiss on your daughter’s head. Then you turn back to the redhead a few paces behind you. “I better get some good dinner tonight.”

Treat You Better ➵ Matt Sturniolo
Tumblr media
summary: matt could treat you better than your current boyfriend. he's sure of it.
It’s raining, of course.
Matt pulls his hood tighter around his face, eyes cast down as he trudges through the wet pavement on his way to class. The rain isn’t that heavy, just a slow drizzle, but it feels heavier with every step, like the sky is mocking him. The world around him feels gray, blending into the dull ache he’s been carrying for weeks now, ever since you started dating him.
Matt clenches his fists in his pockets, trying to shake the thought away, but it clings to him, relentless. It always does.
He imagines you now, sitting in his car, laughing at some joke as the two of you drive to class together. He picks you up every morning, without fail. The perfect boyfriend.
And Matt? Well, Matt walks alone.
He can picture it so clearly: the way your eyes crinkle at the corners when you smile, the way you throw your head back when you laugh, like you don’t have a care in the world. He can almost hear your voice, light and carefree, filling the silence of the car, a sound that he’s only ever heard from a distance.
Because you’re not his.
In his head, though, you are. In his daydreams, in the moments when he allows himself to think about you—and God, does he think about you all the time—you’re his. You’re sitting next to him, your hand in his, your head resting on his shoulder as you talk about everything and nothing. You’re his, not some guy who doesn’t even seem to appreciate what he has.
Matt kicks a loose rock down the road, watching it skid along the pavement before it disappears into the gutter.
He hates that guy. Not just because he’s your boyfriend, though that’s a big part of it. But because Matt knows—he knows—that he could treat you better. He knows that when you’re feeling down, he’d be there for you in a heartbeat. He wouldn’t let you hide your pain behind that brave smile you wear so well. He wouldn’t just brush it off like it’s nothing, the way your boyfriend seems to do.
Would he hold you when you’re feeling low?
Matt shakes his head, trying to clear the thoughts that are starting to spiral. It’s not his place. It never was.
He stops at a red light, watching the cars pass by, and his heart sinks when he sees a familiar car pull up to the intersection. Your boyfriend’s car. And there you are, sitting in the passenger seat, looking out the window with that same distant expression you sometimes get when you think no one’s watching.
Matt bites his lip, hands tightening in his pockets. He knows he should look away, should keep walking, but he can’t. Not when you’re right there, so close yet so far away.
As the light turns green, your boyfriend’s car pulls forward, and Matt watches as you disappear down the street. The rain continues to fall, soft but unrelenting, and he’s left standing there, alone again, wondering how he ended up here.
He doesn’t even remember when he started falling for you. Maybe it was that day in biology class when you partnered up for a project, or maybe it was when you started hanging out more with his brothers and him, laughing with Nick and Chris in a way that made Matt’s heart twist with something unnameable.
Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter now.
Because you’re not his.
But, God, if it were him, he would love you in a way that would make you feel like you were the only person in the world. He’d hold you close when you felt like everything was falling apart, he’d be there for the big moments and the small ones. He’d make sure you never had to feel alone again.
Matt swallows the lump forming in his throat. He’s never been good with these kinds of things—feelings, emotions, letting someone in. But with you, it’s different. With you, he wants to try. He wants to let you in, to show you the side of him that he hides from everyone else, the part of him that’s terrified of rejection but even more terrified of missing out on something real.
If only you weren’t with him.
Would he say he’s in love?
Matt snorts bitterly to himself. He doubts it.
Sure, your boyfriend’s got the car, the looks—everything Matt doesn’t. But does he love you the way Matt would? Does he even know how lucky he is to have you?
Matt kicks at another rock, his heart heavy in his chest.
You deserve more than someone who treats you like a prize to be shown off. You deserve someone who looks at you like you’re their entire world, someone who holds you when you’re feeling low and doesn’t just brush it off.
And if it were him, Matt knows he’d do all of that. He’d love you with everything he has.
But he’s not him. He’s just Matt, the guy who walks to class in the rain while you ride in a car with someone else. The guy who’s stuck on the outside looking in, constantly playing a game he’s destined to lose.
Reality ruined my life.
The thought hits him hard, sinking into his chest like a stone. Because no matter how much he dreams about what could be, no matter how many times he imagines you being his, it doesn’t change the fact that you’re with someone else. Someone who, for whatever reason, has what Matt wants more than anything.
But Matt keeps walking. He always does. Because that’s all he can do. Keep moving forward, even if it feels like the weight of unspoken words and missed chances is dragging him down.
Would he treat you like I would?
The answer is no.
Matt knows that. But you don’t. And that’s what hurts the most.
With a heavy sigh, he turns the corner, his mind still spinning with thoughts of you and what could have been, the rain falling around him like a reminder of all the things he can’t control.
And he keeps walking.

try wishing for it: magical girl au (scarabia x gn!reader)
Tumblr media
inspired by @ceruleancattail's magical girl au and @yan-lorkai's yandere genie fic. note: i also imagine scarabia's mascot form to look like this. title is ripped from tohma's magical girl eudaemonics. content warnings: -yandere (if you squint, since scarabia's taking the role of kyubey in this fic. references of manipulation and general moral grayness.) -fic uses "magical girl" but means it in a gender-neutral sense (reader is referred to with they/them pronouns) word count: 2.7k words
Being a magical girl means gaining the power to do virtually anything you can dream of.
The first time you defeat a wraith, you stare in awe at your hands, breathing heavily from sheer excitement rather than exertion. With one final roar, the beast falls to the ground, before dissolving into black smoke.
“Woah, you did it! You really took it down!” Kalim barrels into you, gushing praise after praise. “See, Jamil? I told you they were going to be powerful!”
Jamil is more mindful of you, instead floating over to land on your other shoulder. “Nice job.”
“You’re a natural!” Kalim’s bouncing with joy in your palm, waving his little stubby arms. “You probably won’t even need to use your three wishes!”
Right, there was that. In the case that you were against an overwhelmingly powerful foe, you could draw on your familiars’ magic—a ‘wish,’ they called it.
“Don’t jinx them, Kalim.”
“...What happens if I asked for more wishes?”
“It doesn’t work like that.” The stitches of Jamil’s plush smile don’t change, but there’s a note of something foreboding in his words. “Though, you don’t seem like the type to squander them. Don’t worry about it too much.” Despite their cartoonish appearance, your familiars’ words and warnings carried a grave weight
Your gaze drifts to the slain wraith. All that remains is the tarnished metal collar that hung around its neck, until it too crumbles into dust.
There’s something hauntingly beautiful in that faint shimmer of gold as it gets blown away by the wind.
Being a magical girl means toting around two innocuous round plushies of your familiars to class.
With your new double life, you get two new companions following you around. It means bearing Kalim’s excited chattering as you take notes, dealing with Jamil’s snide teasing as your classmates point out your new bag charms.
What you don’t expect is to see the two of them sitting in your living room the next morning, clad in your school’s uniform.
“Good mor—oof!” Your book bag collides with Kalim’s chest and you use the momentum to drag him and Jamil by the elbow out of your house, ignoring your dad’s concerned calls with a loud “I’m heading out!”
You didn’t get the memo that being able to transform was part of their repertoire as magical familiars, but you should’ve expected this. Between Kalim’s thousand-kilowatt smile and Jamil’s calculating gaze, you very much prefer them as small round plushies.
(It’s strange that your schoolmates and teachers don’t question the two new additions to the class, but you appreciate that your cover wasn’t blown with this curveball. You suspect it might have to do with the red glow in Jamil’s eyes. You decide to question them at the end of the class day.)
“It’d be better if one of you stayed as a plushie.”
“Then that means it would be Jamil since he’s better at keeping attention off of us.”
“By that logic, they’re talking about you, Kalim.” Is it you or is that a hint of a smile on Jamil’s lips?
“Oh.” Kalim’s expression falls into a pout. “But I like attending classes with you!”
He probably wouldn’t like it as much during exams week. “I wouldn’t be able to keep a low profile if people noticed you…guys following me around.”
“Aw, I guess so…Thanks for treating us to ice cream, though!”
You offer to buy them another one, just to make their one and only day at school special. You start heading towards another freezer, there’s a special lottery on these soda popsicles.
Jamil’s attention turns toward the counter. He’d been eyeing the person at the cashier. “Wait, something seems—”
And that’s all the warning he can give before a group of wraiths crashes through the convenience store wall. Ending up in a sprawled mess of tangled limbs was not ideal. It’s settled, you definitely preferred them in their plushie forms.
Being a magical girl means getting woken up by Kalim in the middle of the night to patrol the city.
As a hand-sized plush ball, he’s already pretty strong. But under the cover of night, he can shed his disguise and drag accompany you around to see you deliver justice to evildoers.
Your drowsiness fades away as you leap from rooftop to rooftop, dispatching fledgeling wraiths hiding in narrow alleyways, stopping drunken confrontations, watching over lone pedestrians traversing through seedier parts of the city.
“There’s another one, it’s a low-ranking wraith!”
“I’ve got it!” Magic gathers around your weapon, bathing it in golden light as you swing and cleave the monster into two.
It didn’t even get a fighting chance to writhe or fight back. All it can do is dissipate into nothing.
Which is for the best.
“That was so quick!” Kalim bounds over to you as your weapon fades out of view. “You’re getting better and better at fighting!”
“Well, you did say it was a weak one…” You tug at the collar of your outfit. His praise feels like staring into the glare of the sun, straight on. “I’m probably not that much better than those other magical girls before me.”
“Still! It doesn’t make you any less amazing—Are you hurt anywhere?” Kalim starts looking you over for any injuries that he might have missed.
Too close. “Not a scratch. Come on, let’s head home.”
Though you should’ve expected things would go sideways at some point, that the night would bring untold horrors instead of passing peacefully. In a mix of your carelessness and Kalim’s overexcitement, an avian-like wraith appears and catches you both offguard, talons closing around his midsection and carrying him into the sky, each powerful beat of its wings taking him farther and farther away from you.
Adrenaline surges through you and the asphalt of the sidewalk cracks underneath your soles as you leap to the sky in pursuit. “Kalim!” Just before you can close the distance, he screams at you to get back, making you falter. A long shadow whips through the air—a prehensile tail of sorts—preventing you from approaching.
Switching tactics, you aim for its wings. Better to bring it to the ground.
(Miraculously, Kalim got the cue to turn into his plushie form to avoid getting caught in the crossfire. You manage to catch him before the both of you crash. Though, Kalim’s awed gushing was probably going to give you a sunburn.)
Being a magical girl means Jamil takes your healthcare into his own hands, sometimes.
“It’s the sleep deprivation.”
“No, it’s not.” A coughing fit strikes you at that moment, betraying the extent of your sickness.
“It’s because you’re overexerting yourself with your ‘nightly escapades.’”
“Fine—so what if I am? Isn’t that what I’m supposed to do? To protect helpless people day and night?”
“Obviously, not at the cost of your own wellbeing!”
You didn’t think you would ever end up in this kind of situation, being yelled at by a floating plush ball while confined to your bed of messy blankets and used tissues.
The angry heat in your face is making your headache worse, makes you see gray for a moment before you could fire back.
“...I’m sorry,” you spit without an ounce of penance.
Jamil sighs. “Well. There’s no use in pressing the matter any further.” Just before he disappears, he tells you to get some rest.
Easier said than done.
The minutes inch by agonizingly slow. Your room is so silent, magnifying the buzz of your own thoughts. Up until this point, your life became a whirlwind of academics, extracurriculars, and fighting evil monsters. But at this moment of standstill, you can’t help but come to the realization that he was right. With your rashness, you basically incapacitated yourself. Sure, your familiars were also capable magic users. Sure, they could hold off wraiths from doing any major damage, but the thought that this entire situation could have been avoided, that this was entirely your fault—
A tear slips down your cheek, then more and more, until you’re quietly sobbing, frustrated, into your palms.
The mattress of your bed dips with the added weight of another person. “Mom—”
Jamil shushes you. “Drink this first.” You hear the rustle of plastic—did he go to the pharmacy?—and feel him press two tablets into your hand. As you swallow them, he hands you a glass of water. His other hand rests against your sweat-covered back, thumb rubbing soothing circles into your skin.
(It is a stark contrast to his rough words from earlier.)
“I thought you…” They probably had other magical fighters to watch over, didn’t they?
It’s probably the fever messing with your senses, but there’s an uncharacteristic softness in Jamil’s voice. “Shh. No more of that, now.”
“...then why?” Were you really the only one?
“Just focus on getting better.”
“But—”
“Your mom’s making soup for dinner, she will come to check on you in an hour. I’ll stay with you until then. Rest.”
His words are not enough to placate your worries fully, but there’s a soft glow of red in his irises that makes you acquiesce and close your eyes, all while clutching onto Jamil’s wrist.
Being a magical girl means thinking up new ways to explain your many conversations “to yourself.”
Your parents are easy, it’s just the angst of youth. But your siblings are a little more difficult to convince. In addition to your moments of listlessness, they can hear your frantic back and forth pacing and the thump of you throwing your plushies against the paper-thin walls of your room. It can only mean one thing—
“Get out! I’m not having romance issues!” You slam the door behind your sibling’s cackles.
Your familiars remain still, seated on your bed until the sound of footsteps is sufficiently out of earshot.
“Are you really seeing someone?” Kalim pipes up.
“No!” You bury your face into your hands. “I—How would I have the time for that?”
“Besides,” Jamil chimes in, “we’re the only ones who’ve been accompanying them. Unless—”
Your body moves of its own accord, snatching Jamil with both hands and giving him a threatening squeeze, an unspoken ‘don’t you dare finish that sentence’ left hanging in mid-air.
When he stays quiet, your death grip lightens up. Just a little bit. A heavy exhale leaves your frame. “Look, for all that we’ve gone through—”
(A part of you is hesitant to admit it but, having gained them as new companions made your journey as a magical girl feel less daunting. You felt safe knowing that you could rely on them to watch your back, in spite of the close calls you’ve had.
As for whether or not you’d started looking at them differently, well, you’d need more time to think on it. There. End of conversation.)
“I guess… I’m glad I met you. The both of you,” you finished lamely.
The silence that followed was deafening. For once, you’d wished their plushie forms could emote more instead of giving you that placid smile.
With a pop! and shower of golden sparks, Kalim’s arms close around you in a tight hug. A bright grin splitting his cheeks. “I’m happy we’re friends too!”
“Stop squeezing me!” Jamil grits out.
Being a magical girl means double checking your word choice, especially for any quips and retorts.
The first time you transformed, you commented offhandedly about your footwear and Jamil made a little adjustment to your attire.
With a snap of his fingers, a golden bangle clasps around your ankle. Lightweight, no doubt it would look beautiful when the light hits it at the right angle, but—
A frown pulls at your lips.
“Would you like another one? Just for some…symmetry,” Jamil suggests.
You decide better against responding to that.
“Think of it as a gift from me and Kalim.”
Was this something they bestowed to every magical fighter they took under their wing? “...Some gift this is.”
“Relax, you still have three wishes left. I won’t trick you into wasting them.”
Well, that diminished most of your initial doubt. “How can I be sure of that?” you question.
Jamil’s head tilts to the side, appraising you with an eerily-observant gaze. “All you have to do is ask. Anything that your heart desires, anything your mind can conceive.”
You don’t like how his eyes are trained on you, making you feel small. You pick at an imaginary speck of dirt on your top, straighten out the already-impeccable fabric.
A thick silence falls over the both of you.
“...Will you—will you both ask me if I’m sure, before granting my wish?” It’s such a stupid thing to worry about, to fuss over the intricacies of your arrangement as Magical Girl and Familiar.
“Of course.” Jamil gives you a smile. “Shall we head to where Kalim is?”
“Yeah.” Your weapon appears in your hand with a flash of gold. “Let’s destroy that wraith’s nest.”
(More than desires you want fulfilled, there are anxieties you want quelled, fears you want silenced. Miracles to the myriad of unfortunate catastrophes that plagued your home—the flawed world that you lived in. So what if you contained untold power at your fingertips? You were only one person tasked with the protection of hundreds. At the peak of your distress—in the midst of sirens and flashing lights—you call for Jamil and utter your first wish through choked sobs.)
Being a magical girl means not relying on your powers, sometimes.
The trapped kitten gives another pitiful wail, thrashing against your grip as you clamber down the tree. In holding onto it tightly, you earn a set of angry-red scratch marks along the backs of your hands before reaching solid ground. The kitten bounds away with a final hiss.
“Why didn’t you transform?” Kalim asks.
You shrug, running a finger over one of the scratches. “I guess it’s ’cause I didn’t wanna mess up the outfit.”
“What do you mean?”
Bashful, your gaze ducks to your shoes, worn from years of use but sturdily hanging on. “It’s just, lately, the wraiths have been getting more and more powerful. And I…” Feel weak? Pressured? Alright, maybe you were still hung up over leaving a little crater at a major intersection, but it was either that or letting the ursine wraith lay waste to the nearby shopping center. There wasn’t any time to dwell on those shortcomings.
(But your mind liked to circle back to it. Was there any more you could do? Why couldn’t you do more?)
They warned you about this, that at some point, you would end up facing more destructive wraiths. That you would have to choose among innocents.
He takes your injured hands. “You can always make a wish.” Kalim’s healing magic washes over you, cool and gentle, like a stream of water. You watch the scratches slowly close up until they become nothing more than a set of faint white lines. “That’s what me and Jamil are for.”
“That’s true…”
“Anything you want.” Kalim repeats. “I’ll make it happen.”
It’s those simple words— and the sight of him cradling your hands in his palms—that grant you the courage to speak your next words, your second wish.
Being a magical girl means weighing your soul against the lives of people, friends and strangers alike.
“Come on, you have to get up.” Tears are streaming down Kalim’s cheeks, his hands hover by your prone and bloodied form, unsure of which wounds to heal.
Wearily, you gaze cranes upwards as if every bit of movement caused pain throughout your body.
Jamil has witnessed this scenario a thousand times. He keeps a stoic face. “Are you just going to let them destroy everything?”
“...I can’t let them…”
“You’re hurting yourself! Jamil, you have to do something!”
“It’s not my choice to make.”
When in the face of an unstoppable threat—a horde of chimeran wraiths that will lay waste to your home, will you make that final third wish and trust in them?
Jamil knows how you’ll answer. Rather than using them as quick and easy schemes, your first two wishes werein some way—made for the good of others around you. For someone who won’t even know or care about that small bit of kindness. At the core of every human is a desperate self-preservation instinct that pushes them to make a final wish. And like clockwork, you will follow like the rest of the magical girls that they created. It’s a strategy that has benefited him and Kalim. And he has been fervently waiting for this moment, for a powerful one like you to—
“I’m...not giving up…!”
Or not?
His lips curl into a smile. “Then give them hell.”
They can wait this out. Compared to their infinite lifespan, your emotional fortitude was only a drop in the ocean.

Finding Your Balance
Tumblr media
Pairing: KK Arnold x Reader
Word count: 2349
My Masterlist :)
...................................................
The late afternoon sun streamed into the practice gym, casting long shadows across the court. KK Arnold’s sneakers squeaked lightly as she paced back and forth, her mind racing. The air felt heavier than usual, like it wasn’t just basketball weighing on her today.
For the past week, things had been off between you two. You had always been close, whether it was holding hands in the halls, stealing quick kisses between classes, or staying up late talking about everything and nothing. Lately, though, you’d seemed distant, more focused on your schoolwork, disappearing into textbooks and assignments with a determination KK couldn’t compete with.
At first, KK didn’t mind. She knew how important your studies were and figured things would balance out soon enough. But then days turned into a week, and your responses became shorter, your calls less frequent. When you did talk, you sounded tired, distracted, like your mind was a million miles away. It was starting to get to her.
KK leaned against the wall, her heart sinking at the thought. Was something wrong? Were you pulling away on purpose?
She couldn’t help the gnawing feeling inside her, the voice in the back of her mind whispering that maybe you were losing interest, that maybe this was the beginning of the end. The more she tried to shake the thought, the stronger it grew.
"She’s just busy," KK told herself for the hundredth time. But the reassurance sounded hollow now, like she was just lying to herself.
After another night of watching you rush off to finish schoolwork, leaving her with nothing but a quick kiss on the cheek and a half-hearted “I love you,” KK couldn’t take it anymore. She needed advice. Her teammates always had her back, on and off the court. Maybe they could help her figure this out.
The next day at practice, KK found herself fidgeting with her water bottle, eyes scanning the group as they took a break between drills. Everyone was in their usual spots—Azzi and Paige chatting quietly, Aaliyah sitting with her head back against the bench, and Nika stretching nearby. The sound of bouncing basketballs and the rhythmic hum of sneakers on the hardwood filled the air, but KK’s mind was far from the court.
Gathering her courage, KK cleared her throat and stepped closer to the group. “Hey, can I ask you guys something?”
The others looked up, sensing the seriousness in her tone. Azzi tilted her head, eyes softening as she saw the tension in KK’s expression. “Of course. What’s up?”
KK hesitated for a moment, wondering how to even begin. “It’s about my girl…she’s been really distant lately. Like, I know she’s got a ton of schoolwork and stuff, but it feels like we’re not… connecting anymore. I can’t help but think maybe she’s pulling away from me, like she’s losing interest or something.”
The words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of her worry. KK hadn’t said it out loud before, and now that she had, it felt even more real.
Paige gave KK a sympathetic smile. “That sucks. Have you talked to her about it?”
KK shrugged, shifting her weight uncomfortably. “I’ve tried, but every time I bring it up, she just tells me she’s swamped with work. I don’t want to add to her stress, you know? But it’s getting to me. What if it’s not just school? What if she’s getting tired of me?”
Azzi frowned, shaking her head. “I doubt that. You two are solid. But if you’re feeling like something’s off, you need to talk to her.”
Aaliyah chimed in, her voice calm and reassuring. “She probably doesn’t even realise she’s doing it. School can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to get tunnel vision when you’re stressed. I’ve been there before, but the best thing to do is communicate.”
Nika, never one to shy away from giving her opinion, piped up from across the circle. “KK, you can’t overthink this. She loves you, right?”
KK nodded slowly, her chest tightening at the thought. “Yeah, she does.”
“Then trust that,” Nika said firmly. “But also, don’t just sit here wondering. Talk to her. If you keep everything inside, it’s only going to make things worse. Just tell her how you feel. And trust me, she’ll probably be relieved you brought it up.”
KK exhaled, the tension in her shoulders easing just a bit. They were right. She couldn’t keep going like this, pretending everything was fine while letting her insecurities eat away at her. If she didn’t speak up, nothing would change.
Paige reached over and gave KK a pat on the back. “Just be honest. She’s probably so caught up in school she doesn’t even realise how much it’s affecting your relationship.”
KK nodded, grateful for their support. “Yeah, you’re right. I just… I don’t want her to feel like I’m adding to her stress, you know?”
Azzi smiled softly. “You’re not. If she cares about you, she’ll want to know how you’re feeling. Just be there for her, and let her be there for you too.”
Practice ended, but the conversation stayed with KK as she made her way back to her dorm. Her heart was still heavy with uncertainty, but now it was mixed with resolve. She couldn’t go another day like this. It was time to talk to you, to let you know how much this distance was affecting her.
Later that evening, after showering and grabbing a quick bite to eat, KK sat on the edge of her bed, her phone in her hand. She stared at your name on the screen, her thumb hovering over the keyboard. Her heart raced, but she knew she had to do this.
Taking a deep breath, KK typed out the message:
“Hey, can we talk? I know you’re busy, but I miss you. A lot. I feel like we’ve been distant lately, and I just want to know if everything’s okay.”
She hit send, her stomach flipping with nerves as she waited for your response.
A few minutes later, her phone buzzed. It was you.
“Of course, baby. I’ve been so buried in school stuff, but I miss you too. I’m sorry if I’ve made you feel like I’m not around. Can we meet up tomorrow after my last class?”
KK exhaled, relief washing over her. Maybe this was all just a misunderstanding. Maybe things would be okay.
The next day couldn’t come soon enough.
-------------------------------------------------------------
The tension that had gripped KK’s heart for days had started to unravel, but there was still so much she needed to say. Your apology had brought some comfort, but she couldn’t help feeling that you both needed to go deeper, to talk about how to keep this from happening again. She wasn’t the type to just brush things under the rug, especially not when it came to you. She loved you too much to let distance—whether emotional or physical—get in the way of what you had.
As you both started walking away from your dorm, your bag slung casually over one shoulder, KK felt her mind racing, but not in the panicked way it had been for the past few days. This was different. It was like she was finally seeing the situation clearly, and now she needed to know if you both were really on the same page.
She gave your hand a gentle squeeze as you walked beside her, and though you looked more relaxed, she could tell you were still carrying some of the weight of the past week.
“You know,” KK started, her voice soft but steady, “I was really scared.”
You glanced up at her, concern flickering in your eyes. “Scared of what?”
“Of losing you.” KK looked straight ahead, trying to find the right words. “I know it sounds dramatic, but… when you were so distant, I didn’t know what to think. It felt like I was just watching you slip away and I couldn’t do anything about it.”
Her honesty caught you off guard. You had known KK was worried, but hearing her say that she was scared made your stomach twist with guilt. “KK, I never wanted to make you feel like that. I’ve just been so caught up in everything that I didn’t even see what it was doing to us.”
KK stopped walking, tugging gently on your hand so that you turned to face her. Her expression was serious, but her eyes were filled with warmth, with love. “I know you didn’t mean to. And I get it—school is important, and sometimes life just gets in the way. But I need you to know that I’m here for you, and not just when things are easy. You don’t have to shut me out when you’re overwhelmed.”
You nodded, feeling the weight of her words. You hadn’t realised how much you had been trying to handle everything on your own until now. “I guess I didn’t want to burden you. I thought if I just pushed through on my own, I’d figure it out, and then we’d be back to normal. But it didn’t work like that.”
KK’s hand came up to cup your cheek, her thumb brushing lightly across your skin. “You’re never a burden to me. If something’s bothering you, I want to know about it. I want to be there for you, just like you’d be there for me. That’s how this works.”
Her touch, her words—they were soothing in a way nothing else had been. You leaned into her hand, letting out a breath you didn’t even know you’d been holding. “I’m sorry I made you feel like I didn’t care. I never meant to.”
KK smiled, her eyes softening. “I know. But you don’t have to go through stuff alone, okay? I want to help you, even if it’s just listening or hanging out while you study. I just… I miss being with you. I miss us.”
You felt a pang of regret, knowing that you had let your stress get in the way of something so important. “I miss us too. I’ve been so wrapped up in school that I didn’t realise how much I’ve been neglecting the other parts of my life—especially you.”
KK pulled you into another hug, tighter this time, like she was trying to erase the distance that had grown between you. You hugged her back just as fiercely, the warmth of her body grounding you, reminding you of what really mattered.
After a long moment, KK pulled back just enough to look into your eyes. “We’ll figure this out together. But you have to promise me something.”
“Anything,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Promise me that the next time you’re feeling overwhelmed or like you’re drowning in school or life or whatever, you’ll talk to me. I don’t care if it’s at midnight or if you think it’s not important. I just want to be there for you, the way you’ve always been there for me.”
You nodded, emotion swelling in your chest. “I promise.”
The relief that washed over KK’s face was palpable. She kissed your forehead softly, lingering there for a moment before stepping back and taking your hand again. “Good. Now, let’s go get some food before we both pass out from hunger.”
You laughed, the sound lightening the mood instantly. “Deal. I’m starving.”
As you walked toward the dining hall together, the conversation from earlier played on a loop in your mind. You felt lighter, but you also felt determined. You weren’t going to let this happen again. The stress of school was still there, but now it felt manageable. KK was right—you didn’t have to go through everything alone. She was your partner, in everything, and you were going to make sure she felt that too.
When you reached the dining hall, it was buzzing with the usual dinner crowd. KK led the way, weaving through the tables until you found a quiet corner. You grabbed trays of food, and before you knew it, you were sitting across from each other, enjoying the easy conversation that had been missing for the past week.
“So, what’s the plan for the rest of the night?” KK asked between bites of her sandwich.
You grinned. “Well, I do still have some studying to do, but I figured we could hang out. Maybe you could help me not fall asleep in the middle of my reading.”
KK smirked. “I can definitely do that. And after you’re done, we could watch a movie or something, if you’re up for it.”
You nodded eagerly. “That sounds perfect. I’ve missed just hanging out with you.”
KK’s expression softened again, her eyes meeting yours across the table. “I’ve missed it too.”
The rest of dinner passed in a blur of laughter and light conversation, the tension that had once sat heavy between you both now replaced with a sense of ease. It wasn’t just that you had talked about the distance; it was that you’d both made a promise to be better, to communicate, to show up for each other even when life got chaotic.
Later, back in your dorm room, you set up your textbooks and notes on your desk, but this time KK was there, sitting on your bed, flipping through her phone but glancing up every few minutes to check on you.
“Need any help?” she asked after a while, her voice teasing.
“Maybe just a little encouragement,” you admitted, laughing softly.
KK grinned and came over, resting her chin on your shoulder as she peered at the book in front of you. “You got this,” she whispered. “And after you’re done, you’re all mine.”
You smiled, feeling the warmth of her presence beside you. “Deal.”
With KK by your side, the stress of the past few days seemed to fade away. It wasn’t that school wasn’t important anymore—it was. But you had found your balance again, with her. You had found your way back to each other.
And that made everything feel a little easier.

I have a simple thought
Tav making or trying to make Gale fail No Nut November
Woof-
Dearest Anon, I am giving you the most enthusiastic high-five right now. 🙌💯💯💯
Not only because this ask is magnificent, and not only because I squealed when I read it, but because you sent it to me at 10:28pm on November 1st.
Anon, the fact that you couldn’t even last 24 hours into No Nut November before sending in an ask about No Nut November is absolutely perfect. And do you know why?
Because being unable to last 24 hours into No Nut November is exactly what would happen to Gale.
Truthfully, the hardest part of this ask was coming up with why in the hells Gale would ever agree to participate in NNN in the first place. In fact, I think he would be positively incensed at the very idea: “…an entire MONTH of abstaining from pleasures of the flesh?! Simply to prove that it can be done?! Well! I could chop off an arm and cast spells one-handed to prove that it could be done, but it’s hardly something I’d willingly partake in!”
However! For the sake of this fantastic ask, we’ll say that he was convinced and agreed to try.
But the real crux of the matter, and your actual question, is what Tav would do about this situation. And the truth is, I really don’t think Tav would even have to try hard (or uh…at all) to make Gale fail at NNN.
Picture this series of events with me, anon:
Gale waking up with Tav in his arms (or he in theirs)
Drinking in the sight of his beloved as he does every morning
Noticing that Tav’s nightshirt is unlaced, their shoulder and chest uncovered and in full view
Their leg draped over his, thigh fully exposed
Gale already uncomfortably hard due to it being the morning
Tav innocently shifting and repositioning themselves to snuggle closer, their leg brushing over his bulge
Gale doing everything in his power not to audibly moan, thoughts flooding his mind of how they’d made love in the morning just a few days past. Remembering Tav pulling him from sleep by riding him as though their life depended on it. Thinking of Tav’s thighs clamping around his midsection, and then around his head, the taste of Tav on his tongue as he—
Gale not rolling out of bed so much as falling out of it.
Apologizing profusely, frantically getting dressed in his teaching robes, giving Tav a chaste kiss on the forehead, and all but running out the door
Tav joining Gale for lunch at the Academy as usual
The faculty lounge being so crowded that Tav has to sit on Gale’s lap
Beads of sweat forming on Gale’s forehead as Tav blithely chats with the other Professors
Gale trying not to think about Tav’s perfectly shaped ass
Gale trying not to think about how good it feels pressed against him
Gale trying not to think, period
Fumbling or dropping his fork every time Tav shifts slightly
Apologizing for his clumsiness to the point of babbling, even as Tav reassures him it’s fine. Tav finally just putting their finger over Gale’s lips to get him to stop
It taking every ounce of willpower for Gale to not take Tav’s finger in his mouth
Lunch ending with Gale looking as flushed and sweaty as if he’d just ran a marathon rather than sat for 45 minutes
Tav asking him if he’s okay and Gale reassuring them that he’s fine
Grateful that they cannot see his orb scar through his thick teaching robes, certain it is glowing blindingly bright purple
Kissing Tav goodbye, this time on the lips. Instantly realizing his mistake as the thought occurs to him that he could just dimension door them both into his private office, and—
Hastily breaking the kiss and telling Tav he hopes they have a good afternoon, he’ll see them this evening, he loves them
Spending the rest of the afternoon steeling his resolve
Barely able to pay attention to his class
Muttering to himself that it’s just 30 days! Surely that is surmountable! His bond with Tav is incomparable, they are tethered at the soul, their love goes beyond just the physical, even if that aspect is magnificent and life-giving and—
Ending class early when he realizes he’s mistakenly conjured Tav’s likeness when he was supposed to be channeling the Weave
Arriving home, escaping to the kitchen to start dinner, praying that Tav is busy elsewhere in the tower
Relieved to find a note that they will be home a bit later
Focusing on dinner preparation to the point that he doesn’t realize how much time has passed
Looking up to see Tav has arrived home. The air suddenly thick with their sweet musk
Gale, realizing from their glistening muscles, flushed cheeks and battle gear that they have been off doing their weekly practice at the local armory
Gale, completely mesmerized as a single bead of sweat rolls down their neck and over their heaving chest
OhGodsNo.jpg
Tav, greeting Gale with a quick kiss, suddenly finding themselves caught in his embrace
A purple hue rapidly covering Gale’s chest
His eyes dark, face flushed
His mouth hovering over Tav’s, his voice sounding parched. “Forgive me, my love. I seem to have made a mistake.”
Performing a quick spell with a single hand motion, changing the date on every calendar in the Tower. “I thought it was November 1st when we awoke this morning. My most humble apologies. It appears to actually be December 1st.”
Tav, their lips brushing Gale’s, laughing. “Oh? My goodness, November seemed to absolutely fly by.”
Gale, pulling Tav even closer, his lips brushing theirs as he whispers, “With any luck, December will feel like it lasts a lifetime,” before claiming their mouth with his own.

I was thinking of writing a muggle AU fic where James gets paired with Sirius’s estranged younger brother for a history project in class, not just any project though it’s the end of the year final and it’s worth half their grade so if they don’t make it work they both fail. James doesn’t like him at first just going off of what Sirius has told James about their family but one day regulus comes to school and he’s clearly hiding a black eye and a couple more bruises under small sunglasses. Eventually regulus has to take the sunglasses off due to school policy and he uses the excuse he fell down the stairs. James can’t get it out of his head because that’s the same excuse Sirius used before he was able to tell James,Peter, and Remus about the abuse he was going through at home.
So James being James makes it his mission to help regulus get out just like he helped his best friend.
He goes from being hostile about working with regulus to being empathetic and caring and the sudden overnight change overwhelms regulus but he tries to ignore it because he just wanted to get this history project done so he can get a good grade for the final so his parents won’t be upset and then he will never have to see them again.
I haven’t figured out how I want the story to end yet but it would be endgame Jegulus, side pandalily, acesexual Peter/demisexual Sybill, wolfstar(slowest burn possible with mutual pining since they won’t be the main focus), Marlene/dorcus/mary as well
I want feedback first though if anyone thinks this would be a good fic idea or tell me if it’s been done before so I don’t waste my time lol??
I would be using the American highschool system because I have no clue about the British schooling system 😅

!Pairing: Loser!Jake x Cheerleader!Reader!
Genre: Strangers to lovers, mutual pinning, fluff.
Warnings: Swearing, make outs. [Let me know if I missed anything!]
Tumblr media
Jake Sim loves a lot of things.
He loves his dog, Layla.
He loves his family.
But he especially loves School Spirit Fridays, In fact, those are the days he looks forward to most on school days simply because It means he gets to see you all dolled up in your cheerleading uniform.
You are [Y/n] [L/n] the cheer captain you were the kind of girl that guys wanted and girls wanted to be. Jake believes you came from another planet simply because you were able to pull off the hideous school color combination of red and yellow, now normally, these colors together would be fine but the problem was all people could think about was McDonald's when looking at the cheer team. While you managed to pull it off others looked like they should pull it off since it didn't suit them. On these specific days Jake makes sure to show up in rooms or hallways he knows you walk down simply so he could catch a glimpse of you and if he was fortunate enough he’d catch a whiff of your strawberry-scented perfume. Naturally, his friends make fun of him for this and tease him relentlessly, especially Niki the youngest of his friends, “Dude, you really need to stop with the [Y/n] obsession.” The tall boy teases, “It's seriously embarrassing for you.” He finishes but Jake just brushes him off “You don't understand Niki.” He sighs blissfully, “It's not an obsession, it's love.” Jake states, staring at you with heart eyes as you walk past him once again, “Listen, Jake,” Niki chuckles at his hyung, “You should try just talking to her,” Niki shrugs, “Besides the worst that can happen is she’ll reject you.” This makes Jake whip his head towards the boy with a scowl on his face, “What! No way dude!” He refuses, “What if she thinks I’m weird or something? Or what if she laughs in my face!” He spirals his fingers tugging at his hair in worry.
Meanwhile, you walk into your next class and search the room for the familiar head of your friend Mina. Once you find her you quickly rush over, “Mina!” You squeal, “Guess who I saw again!” You giggle girlishly, and she rolls her eyes, every Friday you do this. you walk down the same hallways so that you can see the boy you for some reason think is cute. She sighs, “Was it your little hallway crush again?” She guesses gruffly, you sequel again and nod your head violently, "Yes, I saw him again!” you smile widely, she laughs at your actions and pats your head making you pout, “You should seriously just go up and talk to him.” she tries to reason with you “Besides no guy could turn the cheer captain down.” She encourages but this just makes you pout more, “But what if he only says yes because I’m the cheer captain?” you cry out “Nah, I’m sure he wouldn’t do that.” She tries to comfort you.
Later you’re sat in class staring at the clock as the minutes tick down until lunch begins. You groan and place your head on the cold surface of your desk glancing over at Mina who is paying attention to the lesson up front. “Psst!” You hiss out trying to catch her attention “Mina!” You whisper shout in her direction finally gaining her attention from a few seats away, she side-eyes you before rolling her eyes and finally paying attention to you, “I'm so boreddd~” you moan out quietly so you don't get in trouble with your teacher, “And what does that have to do with me.” She whispers out sharply, and you groan again, shifting positions “Nothing, I guess but I need you to cure me of it.” You say your voice muffled by your desk, she chuckles at you before turning back towards the front. After she stops paying attention to you you start thinking of random things like what your next cheer choreography should be, and the one you spend the most time thinking about, your hallway crush.
On Fridays you always see him heading down the same hall as you and your heart skips a beat, you’ve always thought he’s rather cute and you like the glasses he wears, not to mention his accent, gosh do you love a man with an accent. When you stop daydreaming you glance up at the clock and see there's still a whole five minutes before class ends, groaning you place your head back on your desk and jump at how cold it is you hate how cold this teacher leaves his classroom so you try to pull your skirt down lower on your legs to try and stay warm, your saving grace being your long-sleeved uniform top but even the fabric was rather thin and didn't fight well against the elements, but you always made sure to wear it on School Spirit Fridays since you are the captain. You somehow manage to fall asleep and abruptly wake up when you hear the bell go off as you jump to your feet and rush out of the classroom and towards the cafeteria unfortunately for you, you're not watching where you’re going, and end up crashing into some poor individual sending you both down crashing to the cold tile floor. When you look down to who you’ve crushed underneath you you’re mortified to find it's your hallway crush.
Jake’s eyes widen as he sees the incoming floor after somebody had rudely shoved him, when they both fell to you floor the person had somehow managed to fall on him, I mean the nerve of some people, but when he glimpses over his shoulder to see his attacker he catches a whiff of perfume he could never forget, his eyes trail up and land to see your blushing face. No. Fucking. Way. He nearly combusts, but before he can even say anything you’re quickly rushing to get off of him spouting out intelligible words and all he can catch is “I am so, so sorry!” He smiles at you and pushes himself up too before speaking, “N-no worries.” He tries to calm you down but keeps stuttering over his words, you giggle at how cute the boy in front of you is but you immediately regret it because his face looks scared and you immediately apologize again “Sorry, sorry I promise I’m not laughing at you it’s just you look really cute.” You accidentally blurt out the last part, at hearing your words Jake’s face feels like it’s on fire, he can’t seem to get any words out of his mouth, you being the overthinker you are think his wide eyes mean he’s taken offense to your rushed compliment and you immediately try to apologize but his face begins to show a large grin and he starts to laugh you stand there confused but you then join him laughing at the ridiculous moment you shared. Jake’s laughs slowly die down as he wipes an imaginary tear away “Sorry I didn’t mean to laugh it's just that I think you’re really cute too.” He smiles at you and suddenly it feels as if your whole world is brighter, you shyly thank him and offer to buy him lunch as an apology, Jake swears he's dead and has  gone to heaven, “Oh, Uhm sure.” He agrees trying to act nonchalant but you can still see the flush on his face, you then grab his large hand in yours and walk off towards the cafeteria leaving both your friends and his standing there in disbelief at what just happened.
Back at the cafeteria you and Jake sit and start to get to know each other, you talk about a lot of different things, and he ends up showing you a picture of Layla and you instantly fall in love with her, “Oh my gosh!” You squeal, “She is so adorable!” you take his phone from his hand and start admiring the photo up close, Jake laughs at your reaction and grabs his phone from your hands brushing his fingers against yours in the process, causing the both of you to blush, “Uhm, If you want I could introduce you to her someday.” He says shyly avoiding eye contact with you and rubbing the back of his head, You quickly grasp his free hand leaning over the table and pressing it against your chest “Really? You’d do that!” You ask excitedly, his eyes dart down to where his hand is and immediately looks away nodding his head, “Y-yea.” He gulps, and you smile brightly at him, “Oh,” you gasp, “I forgot to introduce myself, I’m [Y/n}.” you say sweetly, he smiles back and you mumble a quiet “I know.” you ask if he said something but he shakes you off and says “Oh, I said I’m Jake.” You mentally congratulate yourself on figuring out your hallway crush’s name “You have a nice name, Jake.” You compliment, he stutters out a meek “You too [Y/n].” causing you to giggle.
After that day you would always seek the boy out during lunch so you could talk to him more, the more you got to know him the more you fell for him, little did you know he felt the same way, he couldn’t believe the girl he’s been crushing on since sophomore year was actually talking to him, he knew you were pretty but you also had a great personality on top of that? God, he's in love. You’ve been hanging out for a couple of weeks now when he finally offers to have you meet Layla.
Jake stands there next to the gate of the school waiting for your cheer practice to end and for the two of you to walk to his house together, he waits there for a few more minutes before he sees your figure in the distance jogging towards him and shouting his name, he thinks you’re so adorable your school uniform is neat and you somehow still look perfect even though you've just finished jumping around for an hour, when you finally reach the boy you practically jump him wrapping yourself around him like a koala, as he rushes to catch you, you both stand there for a moment giggling to yourselves before you finally let go and grab his hand to start dragging him away from the school, “Come on Jake, we can’t keep Layla waiting.” You laugh out, he smiles at you as you drag him away chuckling at how perfect he believes you are.
After Jake stears you the correct way to his house he pulls his keys from his backpack and unlocks the door, the first thing you’re greeted with is the golden border collie jumping up onto Jake and the sweet sound of his laughter, you coo at the scene and immediately drop your things to rush over and start babying the good girl, she definitely enjoys the attention and starts to jump onto you making you laugh as she tries to lick your face, Jake is nervous that you won’t like that so he tries to assist you in getting her off of you but you glare at him and he puts his hands up in surrender and lets the puppy continue to tackle you. After playing with Layla for a few hours you both decided to watch a movie, you wanted Barbie movies but Jake insisted you watch the Andrew Garfield Spiderman movies, after playfully arguing and a game of rock paper scissors to see which movie you’d watch the winner came out to be Jake, so as he opened the app to watch them, you sat on his living room couch cuddled up with Layla laying over both of your laps.
You were now on the second movie and you had shifted over closer to Jake and laid your head on his shoulder, Jake felt that he needed to stay perfectly still but that made you more uncomfortable so you looked up at him and when you did, you noticed him already looking at you. Your faces are inches apart, he could feel your breath fanning over his face, your noses brushing against each other, Jake’s gaze drops to your plump lips and he gulps his Adam's apple bobbing, you stay there staring at him for a couple of seconds before closing the gap and pressing your lips against his, you can feel his glasses bump into your face and your nose brushing against his flushed cheek,  your lips splitting as you hear a wet pop, all the color drops from your face and you start to sputter out an apology “I’m so so sorry oh my god,” You panic, “I should definitely not have done that I’m so sorry I-” “[Y/n]” Jake tries to butt in “I’m so so-” you’re suddenly cut off by Jake placing his hands on your flushed cheeks and pulling you in for a second kiss, this kiss is more passionate than the one you shared before and it pulls you in deeper and deeper, it's dizzying the way Jake kisses you it's messy and desperate but more than anything it perfect.
After kissing for a few minutes you finally pull apart from each other and Jake rests his forehead against yours both of you stilling trying to catch your breath eyes closed but holding each other tightly in your arms, After catching his breath Jake finally works up the courage to ask you out, “Uhm,” He breathes out his voice hoarse, You stare at him with your foreheads still connected, “c-can I be your boyfriend?” He asks, his voice hesitant but filled with hope, you quickly pull your forehead away before tackling him to lay down on the couch, your arms wrapped around his neck and your face on his chest breathing in his cologne, “Only if you’ll let me be your girlfriend.” You giggle out, “It’s a deal.”

(A/N: sorry about the long haitus, i was grounded for awhile 😓)
you glance at bakugou quickly as you take your seat.
you cant help but let a small smile etch across your face. you grab your phone out your backpack and open messages,
"katsukiiii"
you glance up to see him furrow his brows and open up his phone.
"yeah?”
"so to be clear we're keeping this a secret right?" "since we have exactly started dating yet and all.."
"yep. i dont want all these extras bothering us anyways"
"hey dont be rude theyre our friends kats😋"
"says who?"
"nvm then. ig theyre js my friends.." "but im your friend right??" "you have no other choice sooo 🤗"
"ur annoying as shit."
"dw ik u love it😙"
you smile at your phone and glance at bakugou only to find him staring at you. you give him a quick grin before pretending not to notice him so no one would notice the interaction between the two of you.
"admiring my beauty i see"
"stfu" "was not."
"awwww... r u flustereddd?"
you chuckle to yourself before hearing the bell ring, and put your phone away to prepare for the start of class.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
you sigh packing up your notes back in your bag slowly. you wait for the class to empty out for lunch before walking up to bakugou with a smile, "ready?"
he nods, "yeah lets go" he walks beside you as you both walk to the training room for lunch again.
"so..." you start, feeling the quiet to be awkward. you glance at him, "uh.. you feel any better now compared to yesterday..?"
he nods, "yeah im not staying up all night anymore thinking of a certain pestering face" he quips playfully.
you make a sound of fake hurt, "rude..! i am a very entertaining and comforting thought to many!" you say with a slight giggle.
"damn right you are.." he says with a tiny smirk. your lips curve into a genuine smile and you knock your shoulder against his.
"okay softie.." you tease softly. he chuckles before opening the door for you, "oh how chivalrous of you" you grin as you step in.
he rolls his eyes, "here step back out and ill let you open the door for me if thats what you want" he smirks.
"no thanks kats" you say with a wink. you turn and head to the locker room, "give me 5- imma change" he makes a sound of agreement and sets his stuff down.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
you step back into the room and walk up to bakugou. "you stretched already?" you ask as you start to do so yourself.
he nods, "yeah i did.. imma go to the bench press, call me if you need anything aight?" he says walking off with a water bottle and towel.
he nod before quickly glancing at his body, "gyatttt damn..." you mutter lowly.
"i heard that you damn perv!" he yells, flipping you off over his shoulder. you let out a loud bark of laughter that was soon followed by his.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
you grunt as you work on your last set of rdls. you breathe in deeply looking at your feet to distract yourself from the feeling of your tensing muscles. "cmon genso- you got a good 5 more left in you." you hear bakugou say from behind you.
"h-huh?" you gasp from between breaths, "im literally- struggling..!" you grunt.
"nahnah.. cmon" he places his hand on the flat of your back and stomach, "3 more.."
you feel your face flush as you feel his touch on you. you quickly finish the set and drop the weights before stumbling to regain your balance.
"woah there genso..." he says steadying you, "why are you so dizzy? have you eaten anything today?" he asks slightly concerned.
"nah i just need my water.. had a protien shake this morning so im fine.." you manage to gasp out, "dont get too hungry anyways.." you say gulping down your water.
"woahwoahwoah.. you havent ate anything all day?" he repeats, "genso you gotta eat- especially if your working out. here- i have an extra snack bar.." he says grabbing one from his backpack. "your not leaving till you eat it."
"b-but.. what are you gonna eat..?" you say not accepting the bar.
"i have lunch, ill give you some too.. i made some spicy curry.." he says sitting down and taking out his utensils. "what are you doing just standing there? sit down" he states, patting the space beside him.
you nod slightly sitting down quietly.
"i dont have an extra utensil, so you can eat first" he say pushing the container in front of you. you glance down at it before looking at him and hugging him, "thanks kats.. it means a lot to see you care so much about me.."
he freezes shocked but returns the hug awkwardly at first, but melts into it soon after. "course dumbass.. you need anything im here for you.." he mumbles into your neck softly.
you smile before pulling away and taking a bite of his food. your eyes widen in shock, "kats this is so good..!" you say smiling. you take another scoop and hold it up to his lips, "here have some!" you say excitedly.
he widens his eyes, "b-but- you just-" he stammers.
you wave your hand dismissively, "who cares- ahhhhh" you mimic, opening your mouth. he opens it slightly and you put the spoon in his mouth softly.
"my god- i dont know what i did to get so lucky and get someone who can cook and workout well too..!" you say between bites. "eat some more or else i will" you warn.
"um first of all- hell no. second of all- slow down woman!" he chuckles grabbing the spoon from you. "gonna choke yourself at that rate.." he scoops some curry and brings it to your lips, "open wide.." he mutters quietly.
you widen your eyes but open your mouth nonetheless.
you smile as u chew and swallow, "sooooo.... whats up with u and izu?" you ask as casually as possible. you glance up to see his mouth form a frown, "oh cmon katsss..."
"he just pisses me off. we knew him since forever- he told us he couldnt get a quirk and then out of nowhere he manifests this strong ass quirk!" he runs his hand throigh his hair frustratingly, "i didnt have to worry about the damn nerd before but now- i cant let him beat me, he cant look stronger than me." He stresses looking at his palms.
you sigh pursing your lips, "oh kats... thats what this is all about..?" you rub ur thumb over the back of his hand softly, "i dont care if you were the 197th hero ranked out of 50- i would still be here for you. i dont like you because of how youre  better then everyone else and never lose... i like you because your the most attractive, smart, strong, determined, and hard working guy i met. and thats all that matters okay?"
he glances up at you with widened eyes. he opens his mouth to talk but instead shuts it and scoops you into a tight hug.
"Oh-" you freeze slightly before relaxing into the warmth of his body against yours. "i know dont wanna say thank you, but ill say your welcome nonetheless" you giggle playfully.
Bakugou tightened his grip on you and said a silent prayer,
Please god let me keep this one..

The familiar sound of muffled beeping rang through the house and on any normal night you'd be banging on Tendou's door, shouting and begging for him to turn it off but tonight you found your mind elsewhere, too occupied with thoughts of yesterday to care for the sound emitting from your siblings' room.
Pushing the blankets off your warm, now cold, body you realized you hadn't gotten any sleep that night and you're sure it'd come back to haunt you later on. But how could you get any sleep at all when all you could think about was the way his hands felt on yours? And the way his olive eyes scanned your body, how gentle he was in the few moments he let his guard down. And the worst part was you didn't even show any signs of a minor concussion.
Walking to the bathroom you debated taking the day off from school to get back into your usual routine, and since it was Friday you'd have a three-day weekend to clear your head but you knew your parents would kill you if they found out you had skipped a day of school without a genuine reason other than you 'felt off'. You'd just have to power through the day exhausted and irritable.
Looking down at the sink you noticed Tendou's red toothbrush, the one you told yourself you'd replace hundreds of times. You felt guilt creeping up the back of your spine as you let your expression droop to a slight frown. Reaching into the cabinet below the sink you grabbed a thin box, an extra toothbrush you bought yourself a few weeks ago but never used.
Grabbing the old toothbrush out of his cup you placed the new one in, promptly throwing the old one in the bin. Now you were sure there was something wrong with you.
The walk to school was like any other and so was the walk to your class, passing by your friends on occasion and giving a little wave not wanting to participate in chatter and you're sure they understood.
Hooking your bag in the link you took your seat like you did every day, placed your things upon your desk like you did every day, and waited for the bell to chime like you did every day. Only it wasn't like you did every day, today your hands were shaking, today your heart felt like it'd beat out of your chest, and today you didn't even hear the friendly chime ring throughout the school.
You felt as though you'd throw up when you saw Ushijima out of the corner of your eye take his seat next to you.
Ushijima knew there was something off with the way your face was flushed red, and how you shifted uncomfortably when he sat next to you. Had he done something wrong? Was it when you bonked heads? He was used to you being mad at the world, and especially mad at him for reasons only you knew, but he wasn't used to this.
Before he could ask if you were okay the teacher walked up to the board, shushing the classroom as people shuffled to their correct seats, though his thoughts never left you.
As Ushijima opened his notebook he realized he had again forgotten his pen, maybe if he asked you once again he could figure out what was wrong with you.
"Do you have a pen?" Ushijima whispered, leaning over the gap to get closer to you.
His voice hit you like a train, almost spooking you as you quickly turned to your left now facing him barely inches away. Your eyes were as big as bugs as you swiftly nodded, shoving the pen in your hands practically into his face.
"Sorry," You spoke softly, giving an awkward smile. If you were paying closer attention you could've sworn you saw the slightest hint of a smile splay across Ushijima's lips.
The class had swiftly gone by and before you knew it the lunch bell was ringing and the shuffling of students began once more.
"Here's your pen back, thanks for letting me borrow it," Ushijima placed the pen next to your hand, your skin brushing against his.
A part of you was hoping he didn't return it, that you'd have an excuse to go see him again in the gym, that maybe you'd get to see him one last time before the weekend came but your silent prayers weren't heard nor answered.
You stared up at his standing figure, still seated, "Yeah, thanks," You muttered before he took his leave. You fiddled with the pen in your fingers, the ghost of his warmth still embedded in the plastic.
Before you could even think about it you abruptly stood up and made a B-line to the gymnasium, you weren't sure what you were doing, it was like your legs were thinking for you and before you could fully process what you were doing you were faced in front of the gyms entry net. The sounds of sneakers could be heard from where you were standing.
What would you even say to him? Would you just stand there watching like a weird stalker?
Your thoughts were quickly cut short.
"What are you doing standing there?" A voice spoke from behind you, a voice you instantly put a face to, the same face that's been plaguing your thoughts.
It didn't take you long to come up with a quick excuse, "Tendou forgot his lunch I was just bringing it!" You blurted out, putting your hands up defensively. Only to realize you didn't have anything in your hands, which Ushijima noticed as well.
His eyebrow raised as his eyes flickered between both of your empty palms.
"Tendou already had lunch," He spoke, "Are you alright?"
His question caught you by surprise, you for sure thought you tricked him with your behavior.
"Yeah, why do you ask?" You replied, putting on the most convincing face you could in the moment, feeling vulnerable under his gaze.
"You've been acting off lately,"
"Like how?" You laughed nervously.
"Every time I see you your face is red, are you sick?" The back of his hand gently made its way to your forehead, feeling the warmth.
His dorsal side was a cold contrast to the warmth rapidly developing your body at his touch, which didn't fail to send a shiver down your spine.
"Im fine, really," You say, placing your hands around his wrists and bringing it away from your forehead.
Ushijima felt his heart skip a beat at your touch, the way your hands couldn't even fit around his wrists, how your eyelashes fluttered, and how you had to crane your neck to look up at him. Even in your flustered state he still thought you were absolutely stunning. Maybe he was the one coming down with a fever, how could he be thinking this about his best friend's sister?
A minute had passed with neither of you attempting to move, to entranced in each other's presence to realize the amount of time that's passed.
"What're you guys doing out here?" Tendou appeared from behind the net guarding the entrance to the gym.
You were the first to remove your hands from his wrists, Ushijima missing the touch instantaneously.
"I was, uh, just gonna tell you it's your turn to wash dishes," You speedily said, not giving Ushijima any time to speak.
Ushijima simply nodded as Tendou looked between the two of you. You couldn't tell if he believed the story or not, but not even you knew what you were just doing with him, and you were sure Ushijima couldn't come up with a better excuse.
"So not fair," He pouted," Ushijima coach told me to tell you to hurry up before you miss out on drills," Tendou said before retreating back into the noisy confines of the gym.
You let out a sigh you didn't even know you were holding, it's not like this was a big deal, nothing had even happened between you two besides a simple hand-holding, and it wasn't even his hand for crying out loud it was his wrist.
"I want to see you," Ushijima said bluntly, though it may not have looked it, he was fighting impossible demons inside his head. He knew he shouldn't want to see you outside of school, he knew it was wrong to go behind his friend's back, but something about you drew him in all the right ways. He wanted to figure you out.
A confused look struck your face, "I'm right in front of you,"
Ushijima let out a small smile of amusement, and in that moment you swore you could've melted. He had never looked more pretty.
"I want to see you outside of school,"
You didn't know how to reply, so instead you stood there, repeating what he said over and over in your head. He wanted to see you? Why would he want to do that? To torture you even more? Though he didn't exactly know he was torturing you he was still guilty of doing it unaware or not.
Ushijima took your silence as an answer that he had overstepped invisible boundaries that he was unaware of, maybe this was his sign to take a step back and rethink how he truly felt and how he should approach the situation from a different angle, or to just simply not approach the situation at all. To leave you alone and let you return to your usually angry form.
"I apologize if I-"
"I'd love to see you outside of school!" You blurted out before he could get any more words in, you may have blurted it a little too loud as students peered out the open windows of the classrooms near the gym.
"Sorry…" You laughed awkwardly as you brought a hand up to the back of your neck.
Ushijimas smile never left his lips as he stared intently at you. He wasn't sure where this go if it would go anywhere at all and he wasn't sure how it'd affect his friendship with your brother but at that moment he couldn't care because he had the most beautiful girl in the world staring back up at him.
Maybe glitter gel pens weren't that bad after all, and maybe it was a normal day.

red, it was absolutely everywhere when you woke up this morning.
on your sheets, the comforter, and, of course, a huge bloody stain on your favorite pajamas.
in your sleepy daze you thought you'd been murdered in your sleep, and your soul was looking at the aftermath of your bloody death.
though, with a sharp pain searing down your lower belly to your legs. you'd been notified of mother nature doing her periodic appearance in your life.
your period.
the word alone made you groan.
although at the end of the day, you were glad your body was healthy enough to actually have a period. there was a long list of reasons you of why dreaded shark week.
from expensive sanitary products, to the extra laundry you had to do, to the most inconvenient of all-
bloody cramps..
every time, you didn't fail to convince yourself a little devil was in your womb, poking at prodding at its walls.
it was only a matter of health issues, that made your cramps extra painful.
everyone close to you knew about it. you were lucky enough to have an environment that understood and helped you out when you desperately needed it.
though, you had recently started dating kenan, who knew absolutely nothing about the way your menstrual cycle worked.
of course, he wasn't an ignorant piece of trash. he knew the basics everyone should have been taught in biology class.
how a cycle works, and what happens in every different part of it.
he knew of the cramps that came with a period, but had never seen anything close to what you would experience every first day of your period.
maybe, that's why you freeze up when you open your front door. peaking your head out, fully expecting the delivery driver to bring you the new shoes you had ordered earlier this week.
no, it most definitely isn't the delivery driver- it is your boyfriend. who had to show up at the most random time- without notifying you beforehand. while you stand behind the door in a bloody outfit like you'd just committed a sinister murder.
"hey, baby! I missed you.."
the words fly out of kenan's mouth. his dimples showing as he flashes you a giddy smile, before he comes barging in.
when he starts pushing the door open slowly. you back up, hiding behind the door.
a chuckle leaves his mouth, as he thinks you’re teasing him. so in return, he grabs the door handle, practically slamming it closed behind him as you make weary eye contact with him. leaving you standing there like you had a stick up your ass.
fuck, the cramps were killing you..
you watch kenan frown at your lack of enthusiasm. you're certain he'd just finished his morning run, as he's dressed in his sweatpants and a hoodie.
he looks so cuddly and soft. if it weren't for the bloody pants, and the painful storm in your lower belly, you would just cling onto him and never let go.
"uh- sweetheart? you okay?" he questions, stepping closer to you. his hands reach for you, his eyes raking up and down your morning face.
"I'm fine, just woke up!" you squeak, eyes widening as you hold your hand out to stop him from moving any closer.
having a period was the most normal thing on planet earth, but the bloody stains on you made you feel incredibly uncomfortable.
"I'm on my period- and there's blood everywhere. I thought you were the delivery guy, so I opened the door thinking it would be a quick package. but- you're here now, I guess.."
you blurt out the words in one deep breath, ending your sentence with a questioning tone.
looking up at kenan, you watch his brows go up in realization, the warmth in his eyes returning in a gentle understanding of your frenzied behavior.
"why didn't you say so, baby? I'm a grown man, don't have to tippy-toe around you being on your period with me.."
he says, reaching over to fix your bedhead a little, his eyes exuding worry and concern.
"I know- I know.." you say, waving him off.
"I guess, I'm just a little- shy about- all of the blood.." you swallow, clenching your thighs together.
you watch your boyfriend’s eyes dart down your pants. he does grimace a little when he notices the bloodstains.
"no need to be shy. I want you to be comfortable around me, our relationship is too important to me. I'd never want you to hide your pain or hurt.."
maybe it was the hormones, but the words sent a straight warmth to your heart. though, seems like you felt it in your womb with how much it was starting to cramp.
"are you well enough to take a shower?" he questions, frowning at the slight way you're clenching onto your lower belly.
you meet his brown eyes, nodding.
"yeah, just- give me a couple of minutes.."
he nods, before watching you wobble away with small steps.
kenan runs his hands through his brown hair when you're gone. sighing as he makes mental preparations on how to proceed further with the situation.
first, he decides to wash the outside germs off his hands. heading towards the kitchen sink, he washes his hands thoroughly before making his way to your bedroom.
he grimaces at the sight of the bloody mess on the bed. rushing to change the bedsheets for you.
the man was a football player, and with the bloody injuries they would get into, this was absolutely nothing crazy to him.
thanking his mom mentally for teaching him how to do laundry, he smiles when he gets the laundry machine to work.
he's done by the moment you come out of the shower, quickly having changed into the clothes he'd put on the bathroom counter.
"feeling better?" kenan questions, opening his arms to meet you in a comforting hug.
you sigh when you press your face into his chest, wrapping your arms around his waist.
"hurts so much.." you pout, barely able to contain yourself from screaming in pain.
a soft sound of worry leaves kenan's mouth, and he doesn't hesitate to pick you up and place you on your clean bed.
"you changed my bedding?" you question through a painful groan.
"mhm, I did. but, that doesn't matter right now. how much does it hurt on a scale of one to ten, baby?" he asks, hands running up and down your thigh, eyes focused on your face.
"like- seven right now. I just have horrible cramps every time, especially the first day. I've been to the doctor lots of times, but they just can't find a reason as to why it hurts so bad.."
tears start pooling at your lower lashline. both of helplessness and pain making you crumble right in front of your concerned boyfriend. your body goes rigid as cramps tingle down your back and upper thighs.
"I'm so sorry about that, baby. how can I help you? anything specific I can do?" kenan's voice is as soft as ever, his hand reaching to cup your cheek.
"nothing helps.." you begin to explain, sniffling.
"It's so bad- I faint almost every time. I took a painkiller already, and it's not helping..”
sweat starts appearing on your forehead, and pained groans start leaving your mouth. you bite your bottom lip to contain the noises, but your eyes water as you throw your head back.
"fuck, baby.." your boyfriend curses in helplessness. his hands reach down your belly, and he watches your nod in consent- before he rubs up and down your lower belly.
"it'll be okay, just breathe in and out, princess..”
he knows his words alone won't make the pain go away. but he's so desperate for the pain to stop, so he keeps trying to talk to you, soothe you with his words, and the hands rubbing up and down the places that hurt the most.
opening your eyes, you look at him with tears running down your face. with a shocking move, you grab onto his arm, digging your nails into his flesh.
"woah, baby.. hey-" noticing the change in your demeanor, he lets you squeeze and grip onto him as tight as possible.
"it hurts so much- I.." you pause as a wave of nausea and dizziness hits you. your head falling forward, as you take in a sharp breath.
that is his last straw.
he can't take seeing you in so much pain, that you're on the verge of fainting..
it breaks his heart into pieces. the very heart that started beating for only you the night he fell in love with you.
"enough. I can't watch you literally pass out from pain."
you don't even protest, knowing that this time, you really couldn't stand the pain anymore.
"we're going to the hospital now. I'd be a monster if I let you suffer any longer. give me a second.."
he pressed a reassuring and gentle kiss on your throat, before getting off your bed.
you squirm in pain on the bed, trying to regulate your breathing. the stabbing pain worsening by the second.
kenan quickly collects your phone, car keys, and necessary id card, before coming back and scooping you up from the couch.
you can feel your body tingle from pain, and you grab onto kenan's sleeve as another wave of cramps hit.
"hurts so much. make it stop, please.." you sniffle, begging for some relief, wanting to scream and cry- but even that took too much energy from you.
"I know, baby. I know, we're going to the hospital- it hurts a lot, but stay awake for me. hm? I'm going to get you some help, honey.."
you clench your teeth the entire drive to the hospital, sweating bullets as you scream out from pain on the hospital bed.
"it's okay, you're fine- I'm here. It's going to stop, just let the meds kick in, baby.."
kenan tries to say every comforting thing he can think of. his heart beating faster in the heat of the moment.
you look up at the iv hanging above your head. clenching your teeth together as you mentally pray for the liquid medication to work as fast as possible.
"did you see the doctor? didn't you want to dye your hair the same color?.."
a distraction could help, kenan thinks- so he blurts the words out before second-guessing himself.
your jaw clenches at the seemingly stupid question, but the off-topic conversation manages to distract you from your cramps for a few minutes- until your eyelids become incredibly heavy all of a sudden.
"I'm sleepy." you mumble, your grip on kenan's bigger, rougher hand loosening. the meds had kicked in faster than you thought, causing a wave of exhaustion to hit you.
"that's okay, sweetheart. take a little nap. I'll be right here when you wake up." kenan speaks, a relieved sigh leaving his lips as he nods at you.
with an exhausted nod, and free from the aches and pains in your body- the last thing you can register is the adjustment of the blanket on your body.
not to mention- the sweet kisses placed on the dried tears on your cheeks, before you drift off the sleep.
just like he promised, kenan is right there when you wake up, pain-free.
only, this time with a takeout bag of your favorite food.
oh, how he was the most loveable man on earth.
and he was all yours too...

you're not him
@b-l-a-n-k-d-r-e-a-m inspired this batch of HCs! Send your love to them! (I hope the tag worked!)
TW- Meltdown, Panic attack, Bullying, Mention of SA and Murder, mention of Jimmy (character), fighting
Actor! Jimmy x Reader
ACTOR AU: Jimmy is feeling distant and closed off- curly has even taken notice and brought it to your attention. Maybe this role was too much for a first role?
Continuation of Jimmy's last part
And yes, Curly's partner is a ACTOR AU! version of Y/N from the part 1 scenarios! They're referred to as (P/N)(partners name)
-Jimmy was excited to start the project. Him, Anya, and daisuke hit it off right away
-it made Curly so happy to see Jimmy coming out of his shell and becoming more and more comfortable around his co-actors.
-it made you happy to know that you finally could get your thesis done.
-you started noticing a few older guys in your film class hanging around to talk to Jimmy, though you chalked it up to Jimmy making more friends
-you knew the guys as dudes who kept hitting on Anya, though she couldn't care seeing as they didn't take it too far and well. Anya doesn't like men.
-one day, Jimmy just didn't show up to film a shot
-you had seen him in class that day, and around campus, so you knew it wasn't sick
-now that you thought back on it, Jimmy had become slowly reserved all over again- hesitant about any form of touch.
-so you went looking for him
"Sexually aroused by horses? Oh- so your a freak freak."
You paused up on hearing the familiar voice of your classmate, and the familiar line that Anya improvised one day during filming (truthfully it was funny enough to not only make the cut but encourage a retake because curly wouldn't stop laughing. His partner had to bring him water because he wouldn't stop wheezing)
You found the corner in time to see Jimmy practically curling into himself. Now, Jimmy wasn't small. He was in weightlifting with Curly since the 10th grade- (you learned that while texting Jimmy late one night talking to him before the first shoot)
With that being said
Jimmy hated confrontation. He wasn't a big fan of physical altercations- and only ever went as far as wrestling in the grass with Curly. (Which resulted in (P/N) scolding them for staining their dry clean only varsity jacket)
"What's going on?" You quickly butted in. Pushing past the two over grown men to stand next to Jimmy. Your side pressed briefly to Jimmy's though he was quick to lean away. He was tense, and looked a bit pale. What's wrong with him
"Just talking to Jizzy here-"
"Jimmy." you spat his name, correcting the rude ass boy almost immediately with a glare.
"-right.. we're just having a chat is all. 'bout horses and shit" the other guy laughed at his friend's comment. But the way it made Jimmy's fist ball up as a distraction from the uncomfortable situation, the rage boiled deep in your skin
"if that's all.." you pushed through grit teeth. "We'll be taking our leave now" you sneered and tried pushing past
The two boys whistled as you and Jimmy went past them "Go one now Jimmy boy- Master's callin'!" One whooped after he said that, the noise ringing annoyingly in your ears
You turned so quick the world felt dazed for a moment as you got up in the guy's face. His hot stank breath making you more pissed than before "you got a fuckin' issue, bud? Cuz we'll fix it." You snapped
"I don't, but maybe put horse fucker on a leash. Or not- maybe he'll diddle you next-" the man laughed in your face
The insult made your blood bubble and burst. In your peripherals, you could see Jimmy tense up at his words almost uncomfortably.
"fuck off man!" You snapped, shoving him back without properly thinking first.
You watched his red shoes stumbled back a few steps before sliding forward. Barely having time to process it as a stinging feeling ripped through the side of your face.
You whipped your head up at the man to strike back, only to be met with the back of Jimmy's head and his arm. Stumbling back a few steps as you watched wide eyed
The normally reserved and peaceful man- the one you would watch wrestle in the grass with Curly after shoots. The one who ever showed a hint of anger (though it was more confusion) when he and Anya could understand why Daisuke was winning (you're positive he was eating the game pieces), The man who you would eat being reassured by curly after every shorty that he was not his character..
You watched the same man's fist sink into the center of your classmate's face- a loud crunch sounding as his nose was crushed between his face and Jimmy's fists.
+-+-+-+
"it's not that bad" you sighed, sitting on your coffee table and holding a small mirror as Jimmy looked at his reflection.
a bit of blood seeped into and crusted on his scruff that he grew out for the sake of you movie. His bottom lip was puffy and split open on one side. An ugly bruise on his cheek spread to his eye that had nearly shut. While his nose has started bleeding- it was still bruised and banged up. On top of that his knuckles were raw and red from the fight.
Truth be told, you weren't in the best shape either. Your nose has started bleeding from that initial punch from the guy. And your sides ached from where you got hit.
The guys tried ganging up on Jimmy, and you tried jumping in to help.
"on a good note... I think I kicked them hard enough so one won't have kids" you chuckled, but Jimmy didn't reciprocate your enjoyment of the joke.
You paused for a moment, then silence almost suffocating
You grabbed the Gauze and Neosporin as scooted towards the edge of the table, your knees barely brushing against his
"here- I can-" "please don't"
You watched in shock as he tore his hands away from your own, grimacing at the touch
"Jimmy wha-...?" You furrowed your eyebrows and shook your head in confusion "what's going on"
When he didn't respond you pushed more
"Jimmy, you've just been acting weird- I tried talking to curly but he doesn't know either- is it the role? Jim, if it's too much you don't have to continue-" he yanked his hand away when you grazed your fingers over it accidentally.
You blinked in surprise
"What if they're right?" Jimmy choked out, head in the heels of his palms as his fingers curled into his dark brown locks. "What if I'm just like him- and that why I play him so well?"
"What?- oh.. Jimmy-"
"what if I end up like him- end up hurting everyone- hurting Curly-- he's like my brother man- I can't hurt curly" he choked on a sob.
"Jimmy.. I-" you sighed and ran your hand over your head as you tried to think of proper wording "This-.. you're feeling upset about playing a fucking horrendous character. That's completely normal- Seasoned actors have a hard time playing a role like this- You're a first time actor, for you to be thrusted into acting- having to play- y'Know.. it's normal to be upset or unnerved, but you have to talk to us, you can't just suffer in silence"
Jimmy shook his head, lifting it to meet your eyes with his dark, bloodshot ones. "But Those guys-"
"Drew and Max are pissy because you get to work so closely with anya- meanwhile they're barely allowed in the same proximity as her" you crossed your arms
"but-"
"are you sexually attracted to horses?"
"..what?"
"are you?"
"no-"
"have you ever...?"
"God no! I'd cut off my nuts before I'd ever-"
"ew dude! TMI" you giggled, grinning as he slowly sported a small smile
"and as far as I'm concerned you haven't off'd anyone or been a 'Manipulative Conniving Dictator', so you're fine" you heard him snort at the dictator part
"I just-"
"Jimmy- look at me" you slowly took his hands in yours- your eyes searching his for a moment as you drew circles on the back of his hand using your thumb "You're not him"
+-+-+-+
BONUS:
"Found you n Jimmy on the couch this morning" Anya hummed as she ate a granola bar, helping you build a medical bed by simply holding the screws
"We watched a movie last night and fell asleep- talked for a bit before hand but nothing happened" you muttered, hunched over a rod as you screwed it to the bed frame
"talked? Like when I hear you giggling at 2 am on the phone with him?" Anya has a lazy, teasing grin as she stared down at you, her tongue sticking out from between her teeth as she quietly giggled
Your ears felt extremely hot, and your heart felt like it stop
"shut up!"
You playfully picked up a piece of foam and threw it at Anya's legs
+-+-+-+
YAYAYYAYAYAYYA! up next will be part 2 of Anya x Circe reader, then imma do part 2 of curly, then part 2 of Daisuke!

Max Meeting The Gang
"A whole weekend?" Max raised his eyebrows, watching the football practice as if he understood a single thing about the game. Next to him, Vince was his perfect opposite, actually enthralled by it all and occasionally cheering.
Vince was wrapped up in a cardigan on top of his sweater and he hadn't shaved in a couple days, so his perpetual five o'clock shadow had leveled up into a full beard. He still looked pale and gaunt from that horrible flu bout, despite more than a week having passed since. Frankly, Max had been surprised when Vince showed up to his classes on Tuesday, instead of taking the day off.
"Yeah, we leave Friday after class and come back Sunday night," Vince answered, waving to his sister as the cheerleaders entered the field, "it'll be fun, Max."
"I don't know, Vince," Max shrugged, rolling his eyes as he saw a bunch of girls look in his direction and start to giggle, "they're your friends, not mine."
"Yeah, that's how you make new friends," Vince reached in and squeezed his nape in affectionate manner, shoving Max slightly, "you know my girlfriend already, that's two."
Max crossed his arms, chewing on his bottom lip, "I guess... I'll think about it."
"Well, don't think too hard, I need to know by Thursday because I'm grocery shopping before heading there," Vin shivered violently, pulling his cardigan tighter around himself and Max eyed him worriedly, but didn't say anything, "if it's anything, I think you'll really like them."
That wasn't what concerned Max. Vince clearly was really really close with his friends, if anything they seemed more like family than just friendship, and Max had a weird fright deep in his guts, like he was just about to meet Vince's parents. Not that it made any sense, he had never been the type to meet the parents of the people he dated, he knew Mr. and Mrs. Monacelli already and, oh yeah, he was not dating Vince.
However the fear was the same, that he was going to meet Vince's friends, they'd decide they hated him, and he'd kiss his friendship with Vin goodbye.
"Get out of your head," Vince jabbed his elbow in Max's tummy, not too hard, "it's going to be fun... I'd like if you came."
And really, did Max ever stand a chance against such words?
-------------
Since Max had a car and Vince was going to go grocery shopping beforehand, they decided to go together. Max wasn't so sure about all of this, he wanted to bolt and his stomach was churning with nerves, but Vince was making a damn good job of making sure he couldn't, like by riding along with him.
"VIN!"
Max looked up in time to see a blur of dark hair and then Wendy was tackling her boyfriend into a hug, kissing his face all over, "oh my god, you look horrible," she whined mid kisses and Vince chuckled, planting her down on the ground.
"Thanks?"
"You look so pale, doesn't he look pale, Max?" Wendy cupped her boyfriend's face, "this is like the third stomach flu you had in six months, I'm putting you in quarantine."
Vince laughed at that, wrapping his arms around Wendy and giving her a hug from behind, pressing a kiss to her temple, "you sound like my mom, honey."
Wendy let out a little scoff at that, but it vanished quickly as her green eyes paused on Max and her pout melted into a smile, "hey, I'm so happy you decided to come," she perked up to give him a hug, leaving him stunned.
Max's whole face was a shade of red, when the front door of the cabin opened and a group of people stepped out. He recognized Vince's friend, Luke, immediately, the one with dark wavy hair and just as tall as Vin was. He was chatting with two other men, who were holding hands and clearly a couple.
"Guys!" Vince called out their attention, "Max, these are Luke, Leo and Jon. Guys, this is Daniels," he introduced them with a smile and Max wanted to shrink in his shoes. He felt clammy and nauseous all of sudden, but forced up a lopsided smile that communicated he wasn't so anxious he could vomit.
The man Vince had pointed out as Jon, raised a hand, all smooth and formal, "nice to meet you, Daniels."
"Just Max," he cleared his throat, shaking Jonah's hand and then Leo perked up to do the same, although he looked much more friendly than his boyfriend.
Luke didn't shake his hand at all, only offered him a tight smile, "hi Max."
"Where's Bell?" Vince asked, frowning and squeezing Max's shoulder, "oh there she is."
Max followed Vince's gaze and then raised his eyebrows as he saw a stunning ginger getting out of the house. She was wearing a black bikini top and jeans shorts, curly hair falling like a mane around her face and Max's jaw all but dropped.
He stepped aside in order not to be stepped on by her, as Bella apparently didn't even register him before tackling Vince with a hug. She squeezed him tightly, murmuring in a strained voice, "I've missed you."
Then her eyes landed on Max and she raised her eyebrows, scrutinizing him, "that's Daniels?"
"In the flesh," he answered before he could think better of it and she seemed momentarily surprised she had asked that out loud and that he had answered. Bella measured him up and down, then smiled.
"I thought you'd be taller."
"Well, this isn't awkward at all," Vince teased, while Wendy wrapped an arm around his waist and laughed, "let's go inside the house."
Max was more than a little dizzy with the amount of information he had to absorb in such a short time. Vince and Wendy shared a room upstairs, as well as Jonah and Leo. Downstairs, Luke and Bella had the third room and Max was delegated to the sofa bed, in the living room — which he didn't mind in the least but still made a big show of complaining about, just because he enjoyed watching Vince fumble over himself in search of a solution.
"You're mean," Leo whispered, leaning in his direction, as Vince continued to try and argue with Jonah and Luke that they should all draw straws.
"I prefer fun," Max retorted, smiling back at the other man, "so how long have you known Vince?"
"Since his first week of college," Leo shrugged, resting his back against the kitchen counter, crossing his arms to his chest, "he came to college already in the team, but I was doing try outs. Adopted me on the spot."
"And here I was feeling special," Max rolled his eyes, "he does that a lot?"
"Adopt strays? Not as much as Luke does," Leo let out an amused huff as his boyfriend told Vince he was not switching room and that was final, "not you though, he hates you."
"Couldn't have guessed," Max snorted, as if he could ignore the way Lucas was all stiff around him or the over the top PDA he was displaying with his wife simply because Max had looked at Bella.
"He's just jealous that Vince likes you," Leo shrugged, patting Max's arm, "it'll wear off by the end of the weekend, Luke can't hold a grudge."
Across the kitchen, Luke said something in a low, snappy voice that caused Jonah's eyebrows to jump and Vince to frown, shutting his mouth in a tight line.
"Maybe we should intervene?"
"Nah, let them hash it out," Bella's said, pushing herself between them and resting her back comfortably against Leo's arm. She was holding a beer and looking Max up and down like he was a zoo animal, "so how long you were in?"
"Jesus, Bell, you can't just ask people that," Leo exclaimed, while Max let out an amused snort. He hadn't ever told Vince that he had done time, so he wondered how she knew this.
"Just two days, protest arrest," Max answered, but never quite started that conversation, since Wendy wrapped a hand around his wrist and tugged at it, all the while saying loudly:
"Enough with the gossiping, we were all gonna go in the lake."
He did not, in fact, want to go in the lake. Ever since the day before his stomach had been a mess, which Max was chalking up to nerves, and he felt weirdly self conscious of stripping before this group, when his belly was sticking out, bloated and crampy.
Still, it was a warm, sunny day out and he had no excuse not to go in. He paced around the shore, as Bella raced Wendy down the pier and they both jumped, followed by Luke and Leo, the blonde spluttering up water and pushing his hair back as he yelled, "c'mon guys! Jon!"
Jonah was all smooth, unlike his friends who still behaved like kids, he took his time to strip and neatly fold his clothes, before walking into the lake instead of jumping from the pier.
"Aren't you gonna get in?" Vince patted Max's shoulder and the man shrugged, feeling horribly out of place.
"I don't know about this whole weekend, man," he started to complain, but Vin cut him off with a dramatic gesture. He always talked with his hands, really not helping the stereotype.
"You haven't been here for an hour," he said with a heavy sigh, kicking off his shoes, "if you still wanna leave by night, I'll drive you back, alright?"
Sounded good enough, even if Max felt a pang of guilt at the idea of Vin wasting another 3 hours of his weekend by driving Max back to Doveport, then back again to the cabin.
"Alright-" he stripped off his shirt, wincing slightly when his stomach let out a nauseated growl and rolled, breakfast sitting like a fucking brick.
Next to him, Vince stripped his shirt and threw it on top of Jonah's carefully folded pile, messing it up and causing the man to shout all the way back from the lake, "VINCE!"
"C'mooon, get in, Vin! Max!" Wendy squealed, drowning Jonah's shout and climbing on his back so she could have some leverage. She was the shortest of the group and while Luke was standing on solid ground, Wendy was panting as she struggled to keep her head afloat.
Max let his eyes wander, roaming over the expanse of Vince's naked back and biting down a dreamy sigh. By now he had seen Vin shirtless - and fully naked, thanks to the recent flu from hell - more than he ever thought he would. Still, the guy was a vision.
He removed his own shirt and grimaced at his stomach, wondering if it was visible to anyone else how upset the organ was, then dumped his wallet and cell on top of his shirt and kicked off his shoes, joining the group.
The water felt extremely cold against his skin and he shivered violently, letting out a string of curses when Vince promptly dunked his head in the water as soon as Max was close enough.
He came up spluttering and cursing, only for Wendy to be smiling at him and shut him up easy like that, "Welcome to the group, Max," she whispered in his ear and Max opened his mouth to reply, only for Bella to dive and tug at his feet, causing him to go underwater once again.

the vices of mice

Tumblr media
Mice.
No offense to Wormtail, they were not James' favourite. But unfortunately, actions always have consequences, and this was it. Mice, popping up in their room, out of nowhere! Someone has retaliated to one of their pranks, and as hilarious as it was to watch Sirius jump around before he had the idea to turn into Padfoot and run away, it had become a nuisance, just in the span of a day. Sirius had made it very clear he wasn't scared of them (he definitely was) which "comforted" Peter (no it didn't, it was very clear that he was scared).
Remus had very explicitly said he would not do it, because he respects his friend's kind. But when after a week, the mice had taken over the dorm, running over sleeping bodies, ruining clothes, eating hidden stashes of sweets and chocolates, it was very clear what needed to be done. The predicament became much more severe when Sirius started wailing about his "lost hair" which had been "eaten by the rats". That's because it's shedding season Pads, Remus jokes.
Some would say this was a diabolical move, as the announcement to finally get rid of the mice was made on a Monday, the exact Monday when it was James' turn to keep the dorm clean, an exercise started by Remus. Previous week, it had been Remus's shift, but the full moon had rolled around, and James didn't have the heart to accuse his friend. If he can go through the extensive process of becoming an animagus, he can get rid of mice, though the former was a much more interesting project.
But this was not his biggest worry of the week, as surprising as it must be.
James had gone on a date.
And now he wasn't sure how to ask for another one.
Oh, the horror.
It had been a week since the date, and you had had a great time. The date had been a success, even though you were pretty nervous. James and you had known each other for a while, and it took much coaxing from Sirius and Peter and a particularly meticulous plan made by Remus to get you two to go on a date.
Now, both of you shut out again, a game being played on who will ask first. Bit of you wanted to win, but the paranoia of losing was much too great.
Two days went by but there had been no progression. Remus, again, had to take matters into his own hands.
"James, just go ask her out. She's not gonna say no!" He exclaimed to the bespectacled boy, who was now rolling his fork to capture his noodles in a spiral, but as he lifted his fork they fell down and James took a bite of a single noodle. But he kept his vision glued to yours. You were unaware of your admirer, or as Remus put it, stalker.
"Actually, I don't care. Just get rid of the rats." He said, shooting a quick apologetic glance to Pete which he responded to with a wave of his hand. He slung his backpack and began leaving the Hall, with Sirius and Peter hot on his tail. James took his time, finally took a few bites of his food and started cleaning up.
He took his last bite when he heard a voice say, "I thought you four had all the same classes."
His head perked up and he saw you, sitting opposite to him, nibbling at Sirius' leftovers, or well, the crusts of bread he had cut off. Fucking prince, you thought.
James was caught a little off guard and he couldn't explain why he decided to slurp the single noodle in his mouth before responding. He had anticipated the wait to be around five seconds, but it seemed as if the noodles had no intention of ever ending. He tried to speed up the process but that only added to his embarrassment.
Your eyes lit with amusement as you took small bites of the crusts,"Take your time." you tease.
He finally let go of the noodles, cleared his throat and spoke as calmly as he could, "I don't take Astronomy. And Remus has Divination."
You hum and a silence follows. James had been nervous before, and now he was panicking. It wasn't a welcome feeling. He had known you since you were kids, it was always easy to talk to you. The nervous anticipating silences bothered him. Fuck this, he thought.
"We have a mice problem."
"Let's not call Pete a problem."
"Not him, you idiot."
You grin but ask,"Who else is a mouse?"
He sighs before responding, having flashbacks to Remus' lectures."We  got payback for a prank we pulled. I'm willing to bet this was your friend Marlene's work."
You were willing to bet on it too. The Slytherins wouldn't do something so secret. They liked to show that they had won.
"Suddenly she's only my friend?" You ask with mock skepticism,
"Real friends don't do this."
"Speak for yourself." He grins wide, caught in his own accusations.
"How do you plan on solving it? Burn down her dorm?"
"Unfortunately, I can't. Something very special to me belongs there." He says, a pleased smile taking over his face, which made you smile in return.
"Huh? What do we have of yours?"
"You. Can't let your pretty head burn, can i?"
This took you by surprise, and there were no quips you could respond to him with. A quick blush covered your cheeks and he tilted his head, his smile contagious. You rolled your eyes playfully and tried to brush off your giddiness, "Alright, what are you gonna do?"
"Well, if I don't clean up the dorm by today Remus is going to be my head." James says, thinking back to a few minutes ago. He also remembered how he had told him to 'just ask her out', and a terrible idea popped in his head.
"Would you help me?" He asks, his voice a little quiet. He tried for an air of nonchalance, he didn't think he had achieved it.
"You want me to help you shoo out mice?" You ask, your eyebrows raised.
He only shrug his shoulders, a pleading expression on his face,
"Alright. Sure." You agree, as if you would ever give up a chance to spend more time with him. "I've always wanted to chase mice anyway." You make an excuse, which makes no sense.
"You've 'always' wanted to?" He asks skeptically,
"You have your fantasies, and I have mine, Potter."
"Strange fantasies you got there." He says, slinging his bag over his shoulders and extending a hand, inviting you.
You follow his lead, a bright grin on your face and James' heart does a few cartwheels.
…
"Let me get this straight," Sirius says, holding up his hand to any obstructions, "You asked her to clean YOUR dorm room, which is infested with mice because of YOUR prank, and she's still coming?"
"She's not cleaning it for me." James tries to justify his poor choices,"None of you pricks will help me. So I had to ask for help."
"You must be packing for her to agree with this sorry excuse of a second date."
"Wouldn't you like to know loverboy?" James extends his hands and makes kissy faces towards Sirius when Sirius swats his hands away and escapes him,
"I'll pray for her well-being. You're clearly not right in the head." Sirius says, opening the door rather dramatically before leaving the room with a grin.
"Wow, so it's not cool to kiss homies now?" he shouts after Sirius.
Remus and Peter bark out a laugh at this. They both get up and head towards the library.
He waits impatiently, fiddling with his hands and running his hands through his hair then fixing it, then doing it again and again. He was in the process of deciding whether his glasses looked better on his eyes or resting on his head, when he heard a knock on the door. The same time you always use to indicate it's you who's knocking.
A smile graced his lips and he made a last futile attempt to tame his unruly hair before opening the door.
"I brought cheese!" You hold up a bag, and sure enough, James sees a block of cheese inside.
He barks out a laugh,"For us or the mice?" still chuckling.
"I thought we could share." You say shyly and James wraps an arm around you in pity (or that's what he tells himself).
"Well, at least this will go well with the snacks." He muses.
"Do we have snacks?" You ask excitedly and he points to a pile beside his bed and you run over with grabby hands but he's quick to stop you.
"One snack for every mouse. Think of it as a treat."
After a bit of arguing over the snacks, and opening three chocolate frogs, you finally get down to business. Your hair is pulled back in a ponytail and you've set rat traps around the room when you huff,
"Tell me again why we can't use magic to summon them?"
"You don't think I've tried?"
"This is the last time I'm helping you."
He only grins and gives you pieces of cheese laced with rat poison,
"These are NOT for you." He reminds you.
You giggle and start placing the blocks where they need to be and you've already spotted the first rodent bastard, "James, look!"
James sprints towards the rat, barely catching it, his body jumping off of beds when his feet get tangled in his sheets and he falls with a thump on the bed, his hand still outstretched to reach the rodent. You both sigh in defeat when the rat escapes his reach.
"Goddamn it."
You pat his back comfortingly trying to contain your laughter and say, "It's okay, soldier."
This continued on for a while, and now it had turned into more of a laughing contest than catching (or rather chasing) rats.
You're on the floor clutching your stomach when James disposes of another rat, alive in the bag they had been collecting the rodents. James caught the first one and couldn't bear to kill it, saying it reminded him too much of Wormtail.
Your bag had two more rats than his, not that this is competition, which he has pointed out later in the game, so you were winning.
After having two rats crawl over you before catching them had you at your end, and after what seemed like a few hours of this, it felt like you both had tackled the mice problem.
"You think we're done?"
"Think so."
Both of you headed to the Care of Magical Creatures professor, feeling it more fit to hand them to someone capable. It had taken a while to explain exactly why we had so many rats in bags with us, but he had let us go.
The day had ended and both you and James headed towards the kitchen to grab a bite, after extensively washing your hands.
Sitting down at a corner the house elves had prepared for you both, a bit too nicely than either of you deserved with your untimely demands, but they didn't seem to mind.
The silence after a day of chaos was comfortable, but there was an inkling in your brain that just wouldn't go away.
"I won the game, what's my prize?"
He looks around confused pretending he has no idea what you're talking about, "What game? There was no game."
"I caught more mice than you."
"Oh, did you? I didn't notice."
You nod your head with a smile, a grin fighting to break out. As you take bites of your food, occasionally casting each other a look after a day of enjoying each other's presence, it feels an awful lot like…
"James…" you trail off, his eyes on yours, asking you to continue. Your bottom lip rolls between your teeth to suppress a smirk when you ask, "Was this a date?"
His chewing stops momentarily and he fixes his glasses, pushing them onto the bridge of his nose,
"Could be if you want it to be."
You scoff, amused, "Your idea of a second date is catching mice together?"
"I just wanted a helping hand from a friend-" He stops at your raised eyebrow, his own smile mirroring yours,"I didn't ask you about this as a date. It just…" He trails off, looking for the right words,
"... happened."
"Yeah. Something like that."
His eyes flicker to your lips and there's a moment of hesitation but he leans down anyway, slowly. His lips are just a whisper away from yours,"We could make it an official date."
Your hands rested on his chest, another barely holding onto the piece of orange from your plate, "Good idea."
His smile is wider than ever when his lips lock with yours, slow and teasing as his hands curl deeper into our hair. You sigh into the kiss and you can hear James chuckle, and you swat his chest, which is only responded with him deepening the kiss. You abandon your orange to free your hand when you hear a loud hiccup, "Oh, Missy apologizes deeply. She didn't mean to see that, or interrupt you. Missy feels sorry, please forgive me, I will leave." A house elf, her eyes wider than they already are is covering her face with her hands.
"Missy, no, it's alright, wait don't leave-" She's gone into thin air before either of you could say anything.
You look at James with a defeated look and he says, "I'll find a better place for the third one."
"This one might need a do over, though." You gesture between the two of you,
"Oh, really?" He asks, a teasing edge to his voice,
"Mhm. Multiple runs, so we know which one's the best one."
"I like the way you think."

sinopsis | When Sunghoon’s jealousy over his best friend’s relationship with other guys leads to a heated argument, emotions spill over, revealing feelings neither of them had ever confessed. After accidentally destroying a piece of art that meant everything to his friend, Sunghoon’s guilt leads him to finally admit the truth: he’s been in love with them all along.
pairing | bestfriend!jealous! sunghoon x painter!bestfriend!reader
genre | angst, fluff
You and Sunghoon have been best friends since you were kids, practically growing up together because your families are so close. You guys are pretty much glued at the hip, and every Friday is your thing. After school, you hit up your art academy, then head over to his place, just two houses away, super convenient. You spend the night watching movies, messing around, and just cracking up until you’re both in stitches.
You both keep to your group, but somehow end up in each other’s orbit all the time. There’s always that playful vibe between you two, like you both might have had a cute little crush on each other at some point, but never really talked about it. You’d catch him staring at you from across the room and pretend you didn’t notice, or he’d tease you when you tried to act all serious about an assignment. The kind of teasing where it’s obvious there’s something more, but you’re both too chill to ever make it awkward.
There’s that unspoken thing, something that feels light, easy, and maybe a little more than friendship, but neither of you wants to ruin the vibe. It’s more fun this way, right?
There had always been moments with Sunghoon that left you second-guessing everything, like when he’d act a little too protective or make comments that seemed to hint at something more. It felt confusing because he’d send mixed signals. One minute, he’d say things like, “That guy’s not good enough for you,” and the next, he’d do something that made you question if it was just his way of looking out for you or if he actually had feelings. You wanted to believe there was something more there, especially when he made sure to veto every guy you tried to bring around. But things shifted the day you saw him texting other girls.
That moment left you feeling off. It made you wonder if you were imagining everything or if it was just the weird back-and-forth that came with your friendship.
That day you were carrying around your unfinished masterpiece from class. The teacher had given you some extra time to work on it, so as you walked down the street toward his house. When you reached his front yard, you didn’t even need to knock on the door. It was always left unlocked for you, just like the countless times before, like you’d always been welcome. You could just walk in, no questions asked.
You found him sprawled out on the couch, phone in hand, eyes glued to the screen. As always, he didn’t even look up when you walked in, but you could tell he’d heard the door creak open. It was just the way he was, relaxed, laid-back. You cleared your throat, just enough to get his attention, and watched as his gaze shifted toward you. That half-smile tugged at his lips, his eyes flicking from his phone to you. You could swear you saw his fangs just barely showing as he grinned.
“Hey” he said, his voice casual, almost distracted.
“Hey” you replied, setting the big Canva project covered with a plastic bag down on the coffee table in front of him. Your eyes flicked to his phone for a brief second, a little nagging feeling creeping in.
“What’s that? Is it what you’ve been working on?” he asked, tossing his phone to the side before standing up. You couldn’t help but notice how tall he was. Sunghoon was just massive compared to you, and when he stood up, his presence seemed to tower over you.
You nodded, trying to keep your voice casual. “Yeah.”
“Can I see?” He leaned over, trying to get a better look at the canvas, but you instinctively pushed it away just a little.
“Nope, you can’t. It’s not finished.”
“C’mon, just a quick look.” he urged, trying to get a glimpse.
You shook your head, a playful smirk tugging at your lips. “Nope.”
“Man, it’s not like I haven’t seen your drawings before,” he teased, sitting back on the couch. “I still have the one you gave me when we were kids, you know. Pretty sure that’s more embarrassing than whatever you’ve got now.”
“You still have those?” You blinked, honestly impressed that he’d kept them for so long.
“Yeah.” he said with a shrug, a small grin appearing. “I’ve got them in a box somewhere.”
The mention of those old drawings made something tighten in your chest, a mixture of nostalgia and awkwardness. You never thought he’d keep those silly little sketches from when you were kids, but hearing him talk about it so casually… it made you realize how much you meant to him without him ever having to say it outright.
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t hide the slight smile that tugged at your lips. “You’re such a dork.”
“Hey, don’t knock it.” he replied, giving you a mock-offended look. “They were masterpieces.”
You shook your head, laughing quietly. “Sure, Sunghoon. Sure.”
“Okay, fine. But you’ve gotta show me that masterpiece when it’s done, alright?”
“Yeah, sure. When it’s actually worth showing.”
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow, looking over at you, his smile softening. “You don’t give yourself enough credit, you know that?”
You shifted uncomfortably, shrugging it off with a casual wave of your hand. “I don’t know, just feels like it’s never good enough.”
“Pfft. That’s nonsense.” he said, leaning forward slightly, the teasing gone from his voice. “You’re way better than you think. I’ve seen you work. It’s pretty damn impressive.”
For a moment, his words hung in the air, and you couldn’t help but feel a little self-conscious. You were used to Sunghoon’s casual compliments, but this time, it felt a little more sincere, like he meant it more than usual. It made you feel… weirdly exposed.
“Thanks.” you mumbled, hoping the awkwardness wouldn’t last too long.
Sunghoon, however, didn’t seem to notice the shift in your mood. He grabbed the remote, flicking on the TV. “Anyway, let’s not talk about art. Let’s watch something. You wanna pick?”
“Sure.” You both tossed yourselves onto the couch, the familiar comfort of his home surrounding you. The couch was a bit cramped for two, but it was your usual spot. Sunghoon grabbed a pillow and hugged it against his chest as he sprawled out, making himself comfortable, while you sat next to him, a little too aware of how close you were.
The movie started, but Sunghoon’s phone buzzed, breaking the silence. He didn’t even look at it, keeping his focus on the screen, while you couldn’t help but notice the buzzing. You knew it was probably one of those girls again. Annoyed and clearly jealous you glanced at Sunghoon. This time, though, he was looking down at the canvas you’d brought.
“It’s Jake’s face.” you blurted out without thinking, like a jeaand immediately, you saw his face change.
You smirked, watching Sunghoon’s face shift from his usual laid-back expression to something more… irritated. Bingo. You knew exactly how to push his buttons.
“Why would you draw that motherfucker’s face?” he asked, his voice laced with attitude, clearly annoyed.
“Because he’s cute?” You shrugged, trying to sound casual, but inside, you were kind of enjoying this. It was fun to see how much Sunghoon could get worked up over something so silly.
Jake was the kind of guy who always tried to win your attention, asking you out on casual dates, always being sweet and charming. But you didn’t really feel anything for him. He was nice, sure, but no one could beat Sunghoon, not in your eyes. However, the way Sunghoon reacted when he saw you even talk to Jake was kind of hilarious, and you couldn’t help but tease him about it.
You hadn’t actually painted Jake’s face on the canvas. That was just a bluff. You loved to see Sunghoon’s reaction, especially when it came to things like this. You were a little curious, though, how far you could push it.
“So what? He’s not good for you.” Sunghoon said, sounding a bit defensive, like he was genuinely concerned.
“Oh, c’mon, you always say that.” you chuckled, rolling your eyes, trying to downplay it.
“I mean it,” he said, his voice suddenly serious. “You deserve someone better.”
You blinked at him, your teasing grin faltering for a moment. You brush it off and laugh. “Yeah, well,” you said, trying to mask the unexpected warmth you were feeling. “You don’t always know what’s best for me.”
Sunghoon tilted his head, raising an eyebrow, that signature smirk creeping back onto his face. “I think I do.”
You couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay, Mr. Know-It-All.”
You leaned back against the couch, continuing to watch the movie, but Sunghoon’s thick eyebrows were furrowed the entire time. Every guy you had ever been with wasn’t good enough in his eyes. He didn’t like any guy that got close to you, or flirted with you, even when he was right there with you. It was like he hated seeing you with anyone else, but it wasn’t enough to stop them. They kept doing it, like they knew that you and Sunghoon were just friends.
Jake. The thought of him, even just from the little joke you’d made with the canvas, seemed to make Sunghoon’s jaw tighten. The frustration was clearly building in his face. He was about to lose it, but you didn’t stay long enough to catch it.
“I’m going to the bathroom.” you said quickly after a few minutes have passed, walking away toward the bathroom downstairs.
Without hesitation, Sunghoon grabbed the canvas off the coffee table, holding it in his hands without a second thought. The black plastic bag was still covering it, hiding whatever you’d drawn, but that didn’t matter to him. He didn’t want to see what was under it. He just needed to get rid of it.
He stood up and walked to the yard, his steps steady but tense. His grip on the canvas was firm, and he didn’t care to look at the artwork, it was the principle of it. You hadn’t even finished it, and yet, it was enough to make him act like this.
He grabbed the firelighter and without a second thought, flicked it open. The flame danced in his hand for a moment before he started walking toward the small firepit in the yard.
He wasn’t going to let Jake’s face, or anything that symbolized you with another guy, stay in his presence. He was going to burn it, destroy it. Just like he had destroyed every other reminder of you and any guy you’d shown interest in.
It wasn’t about the artwork. What bothered him was that you’d even considered another guy enough to paint his face. Jake, the guy who had tried to flirt with you before, who had been around more than he liked. And that gnawing feeling in his chest wasn’t just about jealousy, it was about something he wasn’t sure how to name.
It was about something else entirely. Something he wasn’t quite ready to admit.
His fingers gripped the canvas wrapped in plastic, his jaw tight as he stared down at it. For a second, he considered stopping, pretending like it didn’t bother him, but he couldn’t. His mind was too clouded with jealousy. You were his best friend, and every time another guy came up, it felt like he was losing something.
He took the wrapped canvas to the firepit. The flames were already hungry when the plastic caught. As the fire slowly devoured the canvas, a wave of relief washed over him, but it didn’t last long. He heard your footsteps behind him, and before he knew it, you were right there next to him.
“What are you doing?” Your voice was sharp, filled with disbelief. The water hose was in your hand before Sunghoon could even react, the cold spray hitting the burnt canvas in an attempt to save what little remained.
“Why would you do that?” you asked again, your chest tight with frustration and confusion.
His jaw tightened, and for a long moment, he didn’t say anything. You could feel his gaze on you, heavy and intense, like it was digging into you, trying to figure something out. Then, finally, he spoke, his voice low but steady.
“Do you like him or what?” he asked, the words hanging in the air like a challenge
“What?” You were out of breath, confused.
“Jake,” Sunghoon muttered, his eyes narrowing as he stepped closer.
“What the hell are you talking about?” You were dripping wet from the hose, completely caught off guard.
“Every time you talk about him, every time you get all excited”
You froze, You were dripping wet from the hose, completely caught off guard. The shock registered first, but then it was quickly replaced with something you couldn’t ignore: the sting of his jealousy, but you couldn’t still believe he could do something like this before. “I was messing around with you, I don’t like him like that.”
“The why would you draw him?” he shot back, his frustration growing.
“I didn’t fucking—” You stopped yourself, feeling your anger rise again, but then it turned into something else. You dropped the hose to the floor with a loud thud, your hands reaching to your face in disbelief. “I did not draw him, it was a Joke Sunghoon.”
You dropped to your knees, reaching what was last of the plastic bag, feeling like everything you had worked for was just being crushed. Sunghoon’s face was scrunched in confusion, his brows furrowed, but he didn’t fully understand why this was such a big deal for him. You unwrapped the remaining piece of the plastic, revealing the painting. Sunghoon’s face, the one that had been on the canvas, was staring back at him, eerily smooth and perfect, contrasting with the charred edges of the canvas.
The sight hit you harder than you expected, and the tears you’d been holding back started to fall. Everything you had worked for, all your effort and your emotions, ruined. Sunghoon stood frozen, his own heart racing as he finally pieced together what you had done. His jaw tightened, and his eyes flicked between the ruined canvas and you.
“I didn’t mean to…” he started, but the words didn’t feel like enough.
You wiped your eyes quickly, feeling the anger and embarrassment burning inside you. The effort you’d put into this painting, something that had meant more to you than it probably should, was now in pieces. And Sunghoon had made it worse by throwing it into the fire.
“That’s… me?” Sunghoon’s voice trembled as his gaze locked on the painting. The edges were scorched, but his face, the face he hadn’t expected to see there, stared back at him, hauntingly calm.
“You ruined my canvas.” you said, your voice sharp and tight.
He stared at you, his jaw clenching as he tried to process your words. Then, he looked back down at the ruined painting, his breathing uneven. “I didn’t… mean to ruin it,” he muttered, softer now. “I just… I don’t know. I guess I was mad.”
“Mad? At what?” you snapped, stepping closer, your anger spilling over.
“Because I thought you actually painted him!” Sunghoon’s voice cracked as he looked up at you. “Jake. I thought you— you painted him. And I couldn’t stand it.”
The words hit you like a sudden gust of wind, and you blinked at him, incredulous. “It was a joke!” you said, your voice rising. “For the love of God, Sunghoon, it was a stupid joke!”
Sunghoon opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. He stared at the burning canvas, his face shadowed with regret. His hands clenched at his sides, trembling slightly, before he turned back to you.
“I didn’t know.” he said finally, his voice hoarse. “I thought—” He stopped himself, shaking his head. “I thought it meant something else.”
You folded your arms across your chest, glaring at him, but beneath the anger was a flicker of exhaustion. “Of course, it meant something else. You didn’t even ask, Sunghoon. You just—destroyed it. How could you?”
He took a step closer, his eyes pleading. “I didn’t think. I—I was jealous, okay? I didn’t know what to do. Every time you talk about Jake or anyone else, it feels like I’m… like I’m not enough.” His voice cracked, raw and unguarded in a way you hadn’t heard before.
For a moment, the anger in you softened, replaced by something heavier. You looked at him, standing there with guilt etched across his face, and you weren’t sure whether to scream or to cry.
“Jealousy doesn’t give you the right to destroy something that matters to me. Do you even understand how much time I spent on that painting? What it meant to me?”
He lowered his gaze, his shoulders slumping under the weight of your words. “I know I messed up. I know I ruined it. But—
“I don’t destroy everything you do when you flirt with bitches on the phone!” you snapped, the words spilling out before you could stop them.
“What?” Sunghoon froze, his eyes widening as though you’d slapped him.
“You heard me!” you shot back, anger and frustration boiling over. “You keep telling me all of this, that you’re jealous, that you’re scared of every guy who comes up to me. But then you turn around and flirt with other girls like it’s nothing. You just give me these confused signs, Sunghoon!”
His brows furrowed, his expression twisting into something defensive, but underneath, there was a flicker of guilt. “What are you even talking about? I—”
“Do you like me or not?” you cut him off, your voice rising. You weren’t sure if the question was fueled by anger, desperation, or both, but it hung in the air, sharp and undeniable.
Sunghoon opened his mouth to respond, but nothing came out. He stared at you, his lips parting slightly as if he was struggling to find the right words. His silence felt louder than anything he could have said.
“Exactly.” you said bitterly, crossing your arms and stepping back. “You don’t even know, do you? You don’t get to act like this, like you have some kind of claim on me, when you can’t even figure out your own feelings.”
“That’s not fair!” Sunghoon snapped suddenly, his voice louder now, the frustration finally breaking through. “You think I don’t care about you? That I don’t—” He stopped, running a hand through his hair as he struggled to keep up with his own emotions.
“Then say it!” you demanded, tears stinging your eyes. “If you care so much, say it! Stop playing these games where one minute you’re jealous, and the next you’re flirting with anyone who’ll give you attention!”
“I’m not playing games!” he shot back, his voice cracking. “I—” He faltered, his shoulders slumping as the anger drained out of him. “I’m scared, okay? That’s why I don’t say it. Because what if I say it, and it’s not enough? What if I lose you anyway?”
“You’re losing me now” your voice trembling. “I don’t know how much more of this I can take.”
Sunghoon looked at you, his eyes wide and desperate and panic flashing across his face. “Wait—” he said quickly, his voice breaking. “You’re my best friend. You can’t—don’t say that. Please.”
You let out a bitter laugh, wiping at your eyes. “Exactly. I’m your best friend. That’s why this hurts so much, Sunghoon. I don’t even know where I stand with you anymore.”
“You’re—you’re everything to me!” he blurted, stepping closer. “You’re the only person I trust, the only one who really knows me. I can’t lose you, okay? I won’t.”
“You say that..” you snapped, shaking your head, “but then you go and do stuff like this. You tear apart things that matter to me because you’re jealous. You send all these mixed signals, and I’m just supposed to stand here and take it? You don’t get to put me through this and then call me your best friend like it’s all okay.”
“I didn’t mean to—” he began, but you cut him off again, your voice rising.
“Then what do you mean, Sunghoon? What am I to you? Do you want me to just sit here and be your backup while you flirt with whoever you want? Or do you actually want me in your life?”
His face twisted, pain flashing in his eyes. “You don’t understand. It’s not like that.”
“Then explain it to me!” you shouted, your chest heaving. “Because I can’t do this anymore! Do you even like me, Sunghoon? Or am I just someone you keep around because it’s convenient?”
“I like you!” he yelled, his voice louder than you’d ever heard it and everything fell silent. His shoulders slumped as he exhaled shakily. “I like you.” he repeated, softer this time. “More than I should. More than I know what to do with.”
For a moment, you just stood there, your mind reeling. The confession you had been waiting for, the one that had lingered in the back of your mind, finally out in the open.
“I’m sorry, okay?” he said quietly, his voice breaking. “I shouldn’t have done what I did. I should have talked to you. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“What about those girls?” you asked, your voice quieter but still sharp. “You’re always flirting with them, getting jealous over nothing. And then you go and do this.”
Sunghoon winced, his face reddening. He opened his mouth but paused, struggling to find the right words. “I don’t know what I’m doing. I get jealous, and I hate it. But I don’t want to lose you. I didn’t want to mess things up between us.”
You stood there, trying to make sense of it all, the anger slowly melting into something softer. “So, you’re really sorry? After everything?”
“I know I messed up.” he said, his eyes pleading. “But I don’t want to lose you. I care about you more than I can put into words.”
“Do you really mean that?” you whispered, barely able to hold his gaze.
“I do.” he replied, his voice barely audible. “I love you, and I care about you more than I know how to say.”
Your eyes flicked down to his lips, and before you could stop yourself, you stepped closer, drawn to him like magnets. He didn’t hesitate. Sunghoon’s hand reached for yours, and the next thing you knew, you were standing face-to-face. Then, in one swift motion, he closed the gap between you.
His lips met yours gently at first, soft, and tentative. The sensation was electric, sending a wave of warmth flooding through you. Sunghoon’s hand cupped your face, his fingers tracing the line of your jaw, urging you closer. You could feel the urgency in the way his lips moved against yours, tender yet desperate, as if he was pouring every word he hadn’t said into that moment. His other hand slid to your waist, pulling you closer until there was no space left between you.
His lips parted slightly, and you felt his breath against your mouth, warm and ragged. You responded instinctively, your own lips parting to deepen the kiss, the taste of him, the warmth of his hands, filling you completely. It wasn’t just a kiss anymore, it was everything you had both been holding back, all the emotions finally spilling over into something real.
When you pulled away, both of you were breathless. Sunghoon’s forehead rested against yours, his breath still shaky. “Are we okay?” he asked, his voice low, vulnerable.
You smiled, a genuine smile this time, your heart lighter than it had been in weeks. “Yeah,” you whispered, “We’re more than okay.”

can i request the 3rd dialogue in modern au with poly law and kidd??? gn or fem reader is fineeee. i would like for it to be crack-ish where it's really just idiots to lovers, kiddlaw/law x reader/kidd x reader can be established since i want one of the three to be in absolute yearning hence the idiots to lovers bc the yearning character is constantly mistaking the advances of the established two towards them. like i want the yearning character to be equal parts annoyed, endeared, and angsting over the established two. you can make it a bit angsty but happy ending is the endgame hehehe.
KIDD & LAW; soulmate
*pls ignore the wrong ask i uploaded the other day 😭 there were so many asks i got confused (this was before the ask i mistakenly uploaded so mbmb)

Tumblr media
trafalgar law has a crush on you. and it's not just silly little crushes he used to have when he was a child, it was an embarrassingly huge crush. the one that he'd feel warm and fuzzy even for the slightest things.
like right now when you're so close to falling asleep on his shoulder during lecture. you guys just finished a long quiz and lost all fucks to give so your body is giving up completely.
not law though, he was perfectly awake. the rapid beating of his heart was keeping him on his feet as he felt your head precariously land on his shoulder, your forearm brushing by his tatted ones. he tried his best to keep still whilst taking notes and actively listening to class.
what felt like hours turned into seconds because the professor dismissed you all. the shuffling of the seats as your blockmates stood up woke you up.
"shit, how long was i out?" you ran your fingers through your hair as law busied himself with packing up his stuff, all the while trying to hide his blush.
"beats me." he aloofly replied, because if he said more he'd just embarrass himself with nonsense.
you two made your way out the room and eventually out the building, only to find your boyfriend waiting out with his motorbike. he had his helmet on but you knew it was him, from the gaudy color of red of his vehicle and helmet. you smiled at him, all your exhaustion vanished as he welcomed you with a hug.
"baby, you finished class early?" you mumbled on his shoulder, speech muffled from your embrace.
"mhm, thinkin' we'd stop by a diner. and since it's a little early, do a little bit of billiards and drink some booze. how does that sound?" his hands crept up your waist, embracing you tighter as you looked up at him and he reveled on how you look.
"heaven." you smiled. "but we've got some stuff to do, exams are coming up and... law and i..."
"right, of course." he sighed. "do we fit in this bike on ride home or?" kidd gestured to law, looking around as if gauging the impossibility if the three of them would fit.
"i'll take the bus. don't worry." law smiled at him wryly, "i'll get going, traffic's a pain." you waved him goodbye.
"man that guy's so hard to talk to. 's like he always got a stick up his ass. how're you friends with him?" he fetched you your helmet and made space for you behind him.
"oh shut up, it grows on you really. he's a nice guy. just acts like a jackass sometimes. kinda like you." kidd gave you a grumble after that.
law had been in your dorm more than the amount of times you can count. he's your friend and you always study and do some work with him, just like now. he's smart as hell and you two are pretty close. to him, he finds you the least insufferable out of all the people in your university.
"i'll just piss." law excused himself, heading to the bathroom. only to find kidd using the toilet too. his shirt was off, but his back was facing law because of how the toilet was positioned.
"oh fuck, sorry." law turned around.
kidd snickered, finishing up as he pulled his sweatpants up. he headed to the sink to the side, looking at law by the mirror who still had his back turned.
"it's alright, torao. no biggie walkin' in."
law finally turned around, meeting eyes with kidd who was now facing him with crossed arms. as if waiting for law to do something.
"should've locked the door."
"my bad, then." kidd stood upright, walking by the doorway where law was leaning on the side. "i'll keep it in mind next time."
at that moment where kidd and law bumped shoulders on kidd's way out, law heard the same bell he's been hearing whenever you and him touch. kidd thought it was just him imagining it but before he could confront law about it, law had already shut the door and locked it out of sheer panic.
law first heard the bells with you when you accidentally hugged him during an icebreaker at class, you two got paired up that time. you two were the only ones who got a correct answer so your excitement took over you. that was also the time law started having a crush on you. he just didn't act on it because you had kidd already.
this soulmate thing was so stupid and bothersome to law. especially when his "soulmate" is off with someone else. he was starting to think that it was only him hearing the bells. because see, you hear bells when you touch with your soulmate. the ringing stops when you both confess and get together. pretty fucking dumb if your soulmate already heard hers with someone else.
but law shook it off his head, he washed his face and took a deep breath. he relieved himself and prayed kidd wasn't waiting outside. he soon saw the redhead chilling by their couch, booting up a video game. law was relieved and headed back to their dining table to continue some work for the two of you.
unbeknowst to the black haired, kidd was eyeing him the entire time. not out of negative intent or some sort, he was amused and interested. he definitely heard that bell. he and law never really had interactions, much less touch each other. so when he did earlier, it was no mistake.
evening came and law went home, leaving you and kidd to your company. you whipped up some dinner and ate with kidd by the couch as he got some movie playing for you two.
"babe."
"yeah?"
"i heard bells with torao earlier."
your food got caught in your throat kidd had to physically tap your back, tears were coming out of your eyes as the food you previously had in your mouth got all over the floor. he handed you some water after your accident died down.
"damn, you alright?" he rubbed your back, a puzzled face as he assessed how you look.
"that's- i do too, kidd! i hear bells with him too!" you wiped off your mouth with the back of your hand, holding kidd's hand in yours. "ever since the start, i kinda hugged him-"
"you hugged him?" he was quick to reply with a raise of his brow.
"yeah- hey wait, don't get jealous on me now! i got excited, we got a point because of him. only us!" you narrated the entire thing to kidd and he did the same with the bathroom encounter with law.
"that's fuckin' weird, right? i mean, we heard bells with each other, right? or is that not..." kidd scratched the back of his head, placing his plate down because the conversation was getting intense.
"we did, dumbass. of course we did, we even tested it out, right?" you giggled, remembering having sex with him without a confession. you two had to stop because it was bothering you both you two couldn't get in the mood. and that's how you two confessed, naked in kidd's bed on your tenth date. "but is it possible to have another one?"
"you said you're hearing bells with him, and i did too. no way it could be far fetched if it's the two of us, aye?" he rubbed his temples. "wonder what's he thinkin', he'd be lyin' if he says he ain't hearin' shit."
law was losing his mind. he was doomscrolling on the internet. a polyamorous relationship from the soulmate phenomenon, something to explain the dramatic rhythm of his heart that never calmed down. from the way he felt kidd's eyes lingered and gave him a fistbump by the chest when he was about to leave or how you always hit him lightly for his sarcastic jokes. his head was fucking imploding with the bells.
"i think he was hesitating cuz we're already together. b-but are you okay with it? if we three ever get together?"
"i don't exactly hate it. i found him reaaally damn amusing when you introduced him at first. that attitude he has, it pisses me off so much." he scrunched his nose, remembering how law somewhat ignored him on their first meeting. "but i know for a damn fact, if we didn't get together first. i'd have a crush on him, heavily."
"right?!" you hopped on his fanboy train, fawning over law. "he's so good looking, kidd! right?"
"you know what? i've got an idea, babe. it torao is strugglin' on keepin' it all to himself, why don't we help him out?" kidd had that knowing grin, eyes gleaming with his scheming.
"you want to go to a concert with me?" law pointed to himself, looking at kidd like he grew another head.
law passed by the university gym and stared a little too long when he saw kidd benchpressing. like a rabbit in heat, he gawked like a whore. so much so, kidd had noticed and decided to execute the first step of your guys' plan.
"us three. name wanted me to pass it on." he grinned. "heard you're a fan of the strawhats too, name and i always go to their gigs."
"that's fine."
"mm-mm. you're comin', it ain't a question." kidd crossed his arms, sweaty biceps bulging before law. since kidd was taller, law had to fight the temptation to look ten times harder.
"sorry?" law raised a brow, shifting in one foot as he got a bit irritated.
"wear your best shit, torao." kidd nudged him intetionally, playfully punching his shoulder. and there it is again, the bells. law almost felt like vomiting. not from disgust, but sheer disbelief. he hears the same with you from the start and that was cemented. but with kidd too? this is just too much for him.
"do you think he'll come?" you worriedly gaze over kidd, frantic as you held his hand from his arm around you. law was apathetic, but he's not an asshole to keep you guys hanging. atleast you'd hope he is.
"course he would. i'll drag his ass out his dorm if he didn't." kidd gave your hand a reassuring squeeze. "hah, speak of the devil."
you see law rounding a corner donning a striking, jaw-dropping, toe curling fitted long-sleeved mesh top in black, teasing slivers of his tanned skin littered with tattoos from his chest down to his arms were in full display. he paired it with his signature dotted denim pants in a lighter shade of blue. his boots made him almost taller than kidd. his hat was off and his jewelries were hanging idly. the dim ambiance outside the venue wasn't helping, law's bedroom eyes looked unimaginably deeper. he looked like sin, dripping with felony they would commit over and over with no remorse. he was fucking hot, illegally so.
"traffic kept me. it hasn't started yet, right?" law thought he had something in his face or was wearing his shirt inside out because you and kidd were just staring. it worried him but he kept a cold face. "you two look like fucking idiots. something so wrong with my face?"
you cleared your throat. "i-it hasn't- yeah, uh- we um-" but you were unintelligible. literally just opening your mouth just to keep your drool from not falling. but the silence was also suffocating you.
"you sure could fuckin' dress, torao." kidd slung an arm around law, pulling him closer. kidd had a whiff of law's cologne and fell in love instantly, even the bells ringing was dulled.
law smelled like coffee. he exudes a little burnt sugar and caramelly scent, but he still smelled strong and smelling sweet was far from what he had. it was palpable that it had a tinge of the smell of alcohol, it was inviting and warm once it entered your system. it burned a little when it settles down your throat. and kidd was so close to losing himself and pulling this man into a kiss. you fell in love everyday really, it feels like cheating.
while you were busy gawking at him, it took everything for law to not pull you to a room and take everything off with the way you donned your fit. he hated how kidd being close to him made him quite vulnerable with the feeling of kidd's frame on him, pulling him close. how his torso was pressed to his sides, fingertips squeezing his deltoids. and you pinching his cheek as you playfully invited him to go inside already. he was overstimulated at this point.
so far the concert was a blast, until it wasn't. at the climax of one of their songs, the power went out and the collective disappointment of the crowd was way louder than the string that snapped on sanji's guitar. but you, your world ultimately stopped.
the dark had always freaked you out. it makes the walls of your heart clench and suddenly you forget how to breathe. you had to hold onto anything to not lose yourself completely. you held law's hand as a reflex, you felt him stiffen up from his grip on you but he didn't let go.
"what- why are you?" he asked, you can hear his raised brow from his statement. he soon realized it from the way you cling onto him, your hand shaking in his. he sighed and patted your head. he soon fished out his phone and opened his flashlight. "there, not so scary anymore."
he sounded crass as usual, but you knew he meant well. he always does. whenever his tone seems off and not match his true intent, you know him so well to recognize that he meant it with genuinity.
kidd apparently was four people away and only found you guys from law's flashlight. he somehow got stowed and made friends with other people during one of the tracks. he knew you'd immediately have a difficulty with the blackout.
"hey, hey, it's alright, babe. we got you." kidd placed his arm around you and law as he stood behind in between the both of your frames.
"i'm fine, jackass." law mumbled. yet he didn't shake off kidd. as a matter of fact, he loved it there. but he'd never admit that really.
"hm? think ya need it too tho?" kidd's words were suggestive, or was law delusional?
kidd's hand that was initally placed on law's shoulder pulled him closer, his forearm now hanging loosely down law's chest. law just glared at him, soon keeping his head down as he took advantage of the darkness to keep his blush.
"how you feelin', love?" kidd mumbled to you earnestly, pulling your head to his chest as you shifted to hug him and let go of law's hand.
"that was so fucking scary." you let out a deep breath, feeling safe as kidd finally engulfed you in his warmth.
"thanks, law. sorry i suddenly held your hand. i get super freaked out in the pitch black darkness." you sheepishly got back to him.
that thing you did, the bells went crazy with it. but you are law's priority, so the chaos in his mind and heart was nothing. but as he looked back and with you bringing it up, he found himself melting in putty as you looked up at him with that cute little blush that makes his chest hurt.
"don't be shy about it, then." he gave your chin a playful rub, not hesitating anymore as he couldn't contain that little smile you elicit from him. "isn't like you."
even kidd felt that rush down his stomach. it's like you both felt butterflies with his response. law was always austere and inexpressive, that just now made you two all the more sure that maybe, just maybe this thing between you three is actually something.
from that point on, law got comfortable. jamming with you both, touching each other more, and finally letting loose.
"i'll pay for the food." law fished out his wallet from his bag.
"no no, i got it." kidd shook his head profusely, preparing to stand up to go to the counter.
"okay, hell no. just listen." he asserted, slapping off kidd's hand that already held his credit card. "first, you guys paid for the concert. and now, the food too? now you're just making me look like an ass." law rolled his eyes.
kidd took a long look at law then at you who was giggling and then back at law with a raised, annoyed brow. man this guy amuses him down to the depths of his fucking core. he wants him so bad. he finds the sass so damn hot.
"right. by all means." kidd raised his hands in defense. as law stood up, you volunteered to go with him. you somehow wanted more of him.
"did you had a good time, law?" you looked up at him, the alcohol slowly taking over you as you subconsciously leaned closer. there was some waiting time as the cashier processed your food bill.
"i did. thanks." he smiled a little, letting you cling on him. "and you're very drunk right now." he pushed your forehead with his forefinger, away from him as you dangerously got close.
"pffft, i'm not drunk. i just like looking at your eyes."
"yeah?" law got a little too brave, your perfume clouding his senses. even with the staff looking at two of you, he remains unbothered. which was unusual.
"and i like your hair," you reached and combed through his raven locks and law just let you, even though the bells were driving him crazy with your proximity under him. "and your tattoos." your fingers traced his tattos which were peeking from his collarbone down to his arms and roughened fingers. you can feel his goosebumps as you glide your fingers across the surface of his skin.
"ah, you got a thing for them?" he smirked, raising his brows as he shifted on one foot.
"a bit." you grinned, scratching your nails lightly on the prominent veins of his forearm.
"listen, name. i don't -"
"shh." you cut him off and were playfully squeezing on his biceps. "don't you like it too?" you looked up at him as your head rested on his shoulder, completely inducing the vibrant red in his cheeks. "kidd will be fine with it, if that's what you're worried about. trust me on it."
because really, as kidd watched you two from the table, he couldn't help but marvel in the sight of law being totally frozen when you finally touched him. he savored the sight of you two all clingy by the public, suppressing the need to just surrender it all.
and when you two came back, law tried to flush everything down his system with a bottle of whiskey. which was uncharacteristic of him because usually, he'd be level headed enough to not do dumb decisions like that. tonight was full of unusual things.
"slow down there torao, come on. if you don't stop, you're gonna end up like this baby right here." kidd had you in his arms, cocooned in his warmth. he served as your pillow because you were fast asleep from drinking too much whiskey with law.
law held his alcohol pretty good, he wasn't a lightweight but his blush was getting in there. he was a bit tipsy, a few more and he's gonna pass out. but he and kidd kinda had this competition to see if who can stay up the longest.
you grumbled when kidd gestured to you, hitting his chest a little.
"you ever heard your bells, torao?" kidd broke out, the rum loosening his restraints to ask him. law's breath cut short but he maintained his composure.
"yeah," he chugged a shot of whiskey, an arm on the headrest of the sofa as he leaned back. he met kidd's eyes through his half-lidded ones.
"ah, you got someone already?" kidd tried to act coy, his arm was around you as he reached over to your chin, tracing down your jaw to wake you up a little.
"sort of. what about it?"
"felt electric, ain't it?" he grinned, he looked down at you catching your lips to kiss you while looking at law. kidd didn't do it to make him jealous, because god forbid did law felt something else.
something tight down law's pants it made him chug the entire bottle of whiskey as he saw you two make out. "i remember when she and i felt it. got freaked out but, it was well fuckin' worth it when she and i got to confessin'."
"don't fucking care." law rolled his eyes, "get a room." he acted indifferent, but his pants says otherwise. law was starting to lose grip on himself as the bottle was slowly slipping out of his hands.
kidd caught it, drinking the rest of it while maintaining eye contact with law. "best if we get home now, aye?" law just stared at him with a hiccup, his cheeks embarrassingly red. he's so ful with the whiskey it's comical.
right about now, kidd had you slung across his shoulder while law stumbled over his own steps on your way home on kidd's side. law's dorm was too far away so he just went with you guys.
kidd let out a breath of relief as he plopped you down the bed, waking you up and letting you drink a glass of water before you fall asleep. kidd was very tipsy really, he just did his best so you guys can get home. so he lied down next to you while law just crashed down the floor next to the bed. and now you three were dead to the world.
the morning after you guys prepped him some breakfast, you slipped in a pillow under his head and gave him a blanket. placing a kiss on his forehead subtly.
"smells good, baby. might wanna gobble it all myself, hm?" kidd snaked his arms around your waist, peeking over your head at the breakfast you were whipping up.
"we're making good progress so don't spoil it!"
law awoke to the aroma and instantly shot up the floor, seeing if his clothes were still there. he got out and saw you two feeling each other up by the kitchen. you saw him in your periphery.
"good morning, law! we made you breakfast." you smiled, gesturing to the plate you made for him.
but he felt diffident that you're doing this all for him, almost feels like a burden that you're going out of your way. also, he's been third wheeling enough. "yeah, this was a goddamn mistake. i'm going home. sorry about all this."
"wait law, it's fine- don't leave-"
"no this is a mistake, okay? i shouldn't have slept here. or went to that concert and got fucking hammered."
"law! hey!- fuckin' screw it, screw the plan, name. i'm doin' it." kidd stood up and grabbed law's shirt, his rash actions making it look like he'll start a fight with law. "are you plannin' on confessin' or do we need to sweep you off your feet to make it happen?"
law glared at him through flushed cheeks, you got in between them to reduce the tension. "kidd, for fuck's sake just... let me handle it."
you held law's face in your hands, "we know you hear the bells too. i've heard it since day 1. you do too, don't you?" law's once tensed up frown softened, sighing as he placed his inked hands over yours.
"it's fucking me up, really. you two're always so loud in here." he rolled his eyes and you found it endearing, cuz you see how hard he's fighting off that smile. but he soon latched your hands off his face gently. "but i don't wanna be a pain in the ass to you guys, i can't just simply butt in."
"fuck are you on about?" kidd started, the knot between his eyebrows becoming tighter. "not even gonna give us a shot, you shitty bastard? thought you're damn smart enough to understand how soulmates work?"
law chuckled dryly. "you really do have a foul mouth, huh?"
"suppose i do when you're bein' a jackass."
there it is again, this tension between them like they're gonna start something. law flipped kidd off, middle finger held up so adamantly even if kidd was fuming.
you were afraid they're gonna start punching each other but really, if you hadn't got between them they're gonna start kissing with the way they're eyeing each other's lips.
"he's pissin' me off, babe." kidd placed his arm around you. "one confession outta him and we're all good."
"so you guys are down for a poly?" law alternated looks between the both of you.
"of course! why else we would take you out in a concert, have a dinner date after, and then cook you breakfast today?!" you frantically laid it out for him, slowly losing your mind having to explain everything.
and that's when it clicked to law, that hey, you guys weren't fucking with him. you two like him too! i guess when you explode like that, even an idiot like him would be pressured to understand.
"okay, damn." law chuckled, placing his hands on either of your shoulders. "no need to get riled up, yeah? i like the two of you, so very much. i hate doing all this love shit but the bells are freaking me the fuck out so... screw it all and let's go out together."
just like that, the ringing stopped and everyone let out a sigh of relief.
"didn't know your bastard ass is capable of romance." kidd nudged law, placing an arm around him.
"it won't be if you won't shut the fuck up."
"now i've got one other headaches other than kidd."
