They uploaded the video where Agumon, Gabumon, Veemon and Wormon will call out names of fans and look! We get a glimpse at Taichi, Yamato, Daisuke and Ken's rooms!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know what this means? It's time for a certified Ayushi breakdown 🫡
There is so much blue in Taichi's room hahaha (taiyama win!), the soccer magazines + jump manga reference is so on point. And he has so many bags! Taichi why do you need so many backpacks, one for every outfit? 😆 THE DUMBBELLS THO my boy is working out to maintain that body we got a glimpse of in Tri 😌 The whistle hanging on the wall is also a nice touch, is it Hikari's whistle from when they were kids? 🥹 Or even if it's not, I'd like to imagine a scenario where Taichi helps Hikari with her kindergarten schoolwork occasionally by coaching football to the little kids in his free time! Can you imagine him running around with little kids who are about as tall as the football itself 🤣 I tried to zoom in to figure out what the magazine on his desk is for, and I could make out the word Nakano, so maybe it's just something he picked up on his way home (maybe he lives around Nakano?) since it looks slightly crumpled too, like it was shoved in his bag in a rush. His phone (and is that a wallet?) feel pretty standard. He is the only one who doesn't have a lamp on his desk + has some kind of reminder post-its stuck to his desktop, maybe he's not so good with passwords? Koushiro probably always lectures him about this every time he visits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now let's talk about Yamato, FIRST OF ALL I WILL SCREAM ABOUT THE KOD TSHIRT! HE STILL WEARS IT! I'M CRYING RIGHT NOW!!! And then his guitars because I swear I did a one hour deep dive trying to figure out the brand and model and I think they're both Fender (an expensive brand I would say) which once again makes me wonder how much money does the TakaIshi family has for their sons to have expensive, bikes, cars and guitars. TO TOP IT OFF Yamato is definitely an Apple bitch too like look at that monitor and keyboard, that's Mac and his phone is very clearly Iphone. Now his room follows a very warm, muted tones of black and brown. We can spot some music related magazines on his shelf and a big, plain tote bag on the ground (see Taichi one big bag should be enough 🤣) which looks like something he uses for grocery shopping. Yamato is the only one who doesn't have a wheelie computer chair, but rather a wooden one. Now whether he did this to follow the aesthetic of the room (highly likely) or because he doesn't actually spend a lot of time in this space is something we can all think about. He has a framed portrait or photo(?) up on the wall and I did consider him more of a framed art guy over a poster guy always so this is good to see too. Also nice to note that on his desk, he has THE HARMONICA 😭 And the same Jump issue that Taichi has on his shelf! His room is honestly a lot like how I imagined it to be in terms of the furniture and colours so I'm very happy with this sneak peek!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am not qualified to comment on Daisuke and Ken's rooms, so will leave that to 02 fans!

YES! Digimon Adventure 02, my favorite *starts rubbing hand together* i'm going to be so obnoxious.
Anyway since you're done with Adventure could you rank the Chosen Children up to now? I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts.
Let's see. Chosen Children from Most Favorite to Least Favorite, since I don't actually have any I dislike.
1 - Tachikawa Mimi. I'm sure there are no surprises about that one. Mimi's job is to be the relatable everykid. The one who acts the most like what an actual real-life ten-year-old thrown into this situation would act like. She cries, she screams, she wants to go home.
But she still pulls it together and has a lot to contribute all the same.
All of the kids do a great job of being relatable, honestly. But Mimi has the most interesting journey to me,
2 - Kido "Joe" Jou. You know, as a kid, I adored Yamato so much. He would have been my #2. But as an adult, I can't help but appreciate how hard Jou-senpai worked at the mostly thankless job of trying to be responsible for these kids.
He's just as scared and confused and lost as they are, and in the beginning the burden of responsibility weighs so heavily on him that it nearly breaks him. But he rises to the challenge. Even after they decide Taichi is officially team leader, Jou is always looking out for them, always trying to guide them as their senpai nonetheless.
Jou giving his life to save Takeru is my favorite Crest activation of the lot.
3 - Ishida "Matt" Yamato. He's still up there, just not as high as Jou. Yamato is the most damaged of the Chosen Children at the start, though it may not be immediately obvious. He comes into the series with more baggage than anyone. He's already carrying his parents' divorce on his back and emotionally spiraling down a defensive rabbit-hole before we even know his name.
Yamato isn't capable of being a selfish person, and that much is on display left and right. His kneejerk reactions are almost always for the betterment of the group. He can't help himself but to care about everyone else. But he's so messed up that he thinks that's a character flaw. Who he is and who he wants to be are miles apart, and who he wants to be kinda sucks so that's a good thing.
4 - Takenouchi Sora. Sora's carrying some damage on her heart as well. She's similar to Yamato, in that there's a stark disconnect in her character. Not who she is vs. who she wants to be, but rather who she is vs. who she thinks she has to be.
I love how much attention her dynamic with her mom gets in the Vamdemon arc. Sora has the most interesting and dramatic home situation out of any of the kids.
But it does feel like the show starts to de-emphasize her over time, particularly in the Dark Masters arc where Sora routinely has to be protected or saved and rarely gets to be the one who looks cool. Whether she's propping up Takeru, Hikari, or Yamato, Sora often ends up taking a backseat as the series draws closer to its conclusion.
5 - Takaishi "T.K." Takeru. I didn't actually like T.K. as a kid. He just seemed like an annoying little kid. But that's because of the dub downplaying his growth and his strength. Ironically, Takeru is probably the one of the original seven who already has his shit together the most from the start.
He's innocent, naive, and abhors violence, but he's not a helpless baby either. Takeru is resourceful, strong-willed, and contributes as much as anyone to the children's survival. Which is, itself, a key factor in Yamato's arc as much as his own.
6 - Yagami "Kari" Hikari. Hikari suffers tremendously from entering the series so late. She has very limited opportunities to shine, something that 02 will help her with.
She makes good use of what she gets and has a lot of great moments nonetheless. Granted, she's a little bit deus ex machina-ey, but she's literally the Light of the Eight Gods so we can forgive her for that.
7 - Izumi "Izzy" Koushiro. He made my kid cry.
No, I jest. Koushiro's in a rough spot where, as the computer nerd of the group in the Digital World, he has to try and walk a tightrope between "Koushiro OP plz nerf" and "It feels like Koushiro should be doing more."
It's not a tightrope he walks easily. He gets off to an interesting start as he's building out his understanding of the Digital World. But that kinda reaches a head at Etemon's pyramid and after that he just starts leaning on stuff Gennai gives him.
Once the setting is well-established, we don't get to see him do cool things like writing a program that will display a holographic map of Etemon's pyramid in physical space anymore. Gennai gives him all of his tools going forward and he just... sorta becomes the Pokedex.
8 - Yagami Taichi. He yelled at my kid for grieving dead friends.
That's less of a jest. More generally, Taichi has a lot of good points. He's the one who keeps his eye on the ball during the Dark Masters arc and keeps pushing forward while Mimi, Jou, and Yamato are having their respective crises. He's usually the guy you want to lean on in a crisis.
But wow, can Taichi be insufferable at times pre-development. He's reckless, self-centered, occasionally sexist, and utterly insensitive to the thoughts and feelings of others.
Taichi is a wild card. You never really know if you're gonna get "gets everyone caught by Etemon because he thought it'd be funny to cause trouble" Taichi or "pulls this team back together after they split up" Taichi.
Though meeting Homeostasis near the end and hearing the background of their adventure seems to do wonders for Taichi putting all of this to rest and becoming an emotionally stronger leader.

What school clubs the Digidestined partook in
Since Japanese children are expected to join a school club in their time as students, I thought it would be fun the speculate about the school club participation (or lack thereof) of the main characters from Adventure, 02, Tamers, and Frontier. I was going to speculate on the others well, but that sounded exhausting (plus in the case of Savers, I think it's obvious that none of the main characters were participating in school clubs, at least not during the events of the show).
First, I will list the characters whose club participation has been canonically
Taichi, Daisuke, Ken, and Takuya all play soccer. Sora used to play soccer, but switched to tennis in middle school. Koushiro and Miyako are both in the computer club. Iori is on his school's Kendo team
Now that we've went over those characters, let's speculate on the club participation (or lack thereof) of rest. And since joining more than 1 club is frowned upon in Japan, I will be writing this under the assumption that the kids only do 1 club with a few exceptions .
Adventure
Yamato- I got the vibe he was part of the 'go-home' club
Mimi- Mimi is probably 1 of the few characters I can see participating in more than 1 club. But if she had to only do 1 club, I say she'd be in the drama club, or perhaps a fashion club or cooking club.
Jou- I can see him joining a literature club or perhaps he could be part of a library committee like Komachi from Yes Pretty Cure 5.
Takeru- either basketball or some kind of literature club. I'm leaning towards the latter.
Hikari- Probably photography club.
Tamers- quick note, while I don't think any of them were already in clubs during the events of Tamers, I can see most of them joining clubs in junior high.
Takato- probably art club
Ruki- maybe some sort of sports team or mechanics club
Jian- probably computer club like Koshirou and Miyako.
Juri- home ec club? band? gardening? animal caretaking?
Ryo- I'm just gonna assume he's a member of the go home club
Kenta- upon entering middle school, Kenta considered joining the Chorus club, but much to the relief of everyone's ears, some of his friends out of it, and he instead winds up joining Drama club or literature club.
Hirokazu- drama club
Suzie- she's a little young for me to able to pinpoint what her interests in middle and high school would be, but maybe an animal caretaking like Kotaro in Ghost Game (Hopefully by this point, she's learned to be more gentle with living creatures).
Frontier
Kouji- I can see him joining his school's Kendo or Bōjutsu team.
Izumi- maybe literature club, as she's seen reading in at least 1 flashback
Junpei- one of the CD drama revealed that he took up Opera, so maybe a club relating to music
Tomoki- Once he's old enough to join a school club, I kinda like the idea of him joining cooking club or a home economics club.
Kouichi- maybe a literature club (then again the only time we ever saw him reading a book was in Takuya's imagination). Or maybe soccer, since one of the CD drama reveals that he apparently likes soccer.

Digimon Adventure 02: Revenge of Diaboromon
Wow...somehow this one just completely fell off my radar, otherwise I would have watched it a long time ago lol. I seriously thought I was all caught up with pre-Tamers anime until I saw this on the 02 TV Tropes and was like "oop..." It was a good surprise though, I can never get enough of these Mamoru Hosoda style shorts! (Looks like he didn't actually work on this one though).
I watched this dubbed first to take screenshots and then subbed. It's hard to find a non-crunchy version of the subbed short. The OG Japanese was a lot stronger imo because, as usual, the dub ruined some stuff with it's jokey tone and music choices. Still decently faithful though. Full thoughts below.
Notes:
So this is like a midquel, I guess. I don't know if there's an exact place within 02 I was supposed to watch this, but I didn't feel like my immersion was wrecked or anything haha.
While the aesthetic of the short was great, I felt the story was pretty redundant and eye-roll worthy. "Oh Omegamon/Omnimon is back for some contrived reason and the OG chosen children's digimon can't defeat him like they did last time...for some contrived reason. This looks like a job for the 02 protagonists!" Whatever, it doesn't have to be deep to be fun.
The early 2000s CG looked pretty good actually. I thought it added a fun otherworldliness to the Kuramon.
Kuramon look a lot like Takodachi (Hololive fans know what's up). I wonder if there was some inspiration there on a subliminal level.
I wonder if Daisuke's character designer intended him to be from a southern part of Japan. His tan skin sticks out more in this art style.
I feel like Diaboromon got uglier somehow compared to Our War Game lol. Armagemon's design was deliciously creepy though. He looked like something out of an Alien movie. His entrance was epic and probably would have freaked me out a lot as a kid. Weirdly, they never actually said Armagemon's name so I just assumed it was Diaboromon until I googled it just now lol
Sora and Mimi were like two sides of the same coin in this. Mimi was useless, but in a delightful way. Sora was useless, but in a boring way lol. Seriously, she didn't need to come all the way home from her tennis club trip to just go "I'm here!" and then do nothing. I'm not saying there was much she could do anyway, but I get really pissed that they never gave her character a real point aside from "bland love interest" in any Digimon show/movie.
Loved Mimi's interactions with Koushiro. Their awkward "we're in the same friend group but have nothing in common" chemistry is so fun.
Yamato seemed extra cool with his rings and stoicism. I do kind of wish he and Taichi got a little more dialogue though.
Really didn't like the direction of the fights inside the internet. They were either animated too up close or too distant so I felt like I couldn't really follow what was going on half the time. Also, the choreography wasn't that inspired. The IRL fight at least had a cool Evangelion vibe going for it. The harbor was a really aesthetic setting for a final fight.
I've started shipping DaiKen for funsies (there's some really cute fanart) so it was nice seeing them together in the elevated art style hehe.
Daisuke has a Yamato phone strap! So cute and supportive
Tumblr media
It's funny how the digimon sizing suddenly changes when we're in movie-mode. Angemon and Angewomon were huge in this! I was excited to see the 02 digimon, but they mostly looked the same as they looked in the show tbh.
The Shibuya vibes, complete with Hachiko statue, were fun. Was 02 set in Tokyo? I honestly don't remember...
Seeing all those children running around at night without any worries about safety...must be nice, Japan.
When Omegamon "ran out of energy," I had the thought of like "can a jogress digimon die in the real world or would they always just de-digivolve??" I guess they'd never go that far for plot reasons anyways
Imperialdramon gets a new mode! Paladin mode, according to Google. Were these names in the credits or did they just decide things later for the TCG or something...?
We got the 02 theme inserted towards the end and even the OG show's theme as a ring tone. Really cute touch. (I was a little triggered to hear Bolero again for the millionth time though).
All in all I'm glad the 02 kids got their due in this style. Was it groundbreaking? No. Was it worth 30 minutes of my time? Absolutely!

Chapter 4 - Author’s Notes
Tumblr media
Hey! Thank you everyone for your patience. I’ve probably said this, I’m aware my update speed isn’t the fastest and even then each update isn’t that long (writing is hard)...of course this is just a personal project for myself first and foremost, but even I wish I could chip away at it a bit faster lol. Either way I don’t want to overpromise anything with this dumb little story so just come along for the ride, feel free to drop off and get on wherever 😂 Thank you for checking it out!
This chapter’s notes covers a bit on Akihiro and Zemimon, but also some stuff we saw in the chapter.
▶Go to: - Continue to Chapter 5
Akihiro
Akihiro’s given name (秋 Akihiro) literally means autumn ‘秋’ wide/vast ‘広’. Ok so with the reveal of the gods(?) in this chapter actually their names kinda have some meaning! A bit! I’ll write more about it below.
His family name (小川 Ogawa) literally means small ‘小’ river ‘川’. That completes the family names being based on water 😂 I think they were supposed to be more important in the story, but now it’s just more of a...theme thing?
I remember in one of my old posts someone commented something like he gives off Iori (Digimon 02) vibes...yes!!! I guess I made him kind of the ‘good boy intellectual’ of the group haha, with some traits similar to Koushiro (Digimon Adventure) and Iori.
Zemimon
So, Zemimon’s initial design was actually meant to be like an insect-dino cross:
Tumblr media
It’s a pretty cool idea right!? But I couldn’t really get any ideas for his evolutions, and also him being a dino kind of overlaps with Pangorumon’s dino-based evolution line. I do honestly like the idea though and might like to use it for something else in the future...
Tumblr media
Zemimon’s next design is more bug-like, but leaning more mechanical? I wouldn’t mind it but I guess it’s hard to make bug designs look balanced as a cyborg (I feel like they can go either organic or mechanical-looking, but I struggle to design something that looks clearly in-between). And since there is that subtle theme of ancient gods(?) in the story, I kinda wanted to go for something more organic-leaning. Which brings us to the current Zemimon design!
Other notes
As mentioned earlier, the kids’ given names have kinda a bit of relation to the gods:
“Haru-no-Kami, the god of spring, he watches the heavens and the stars.” Haruka’s name (春日) means ‘spring sun’.
“Natsu-no-Kami, the god of summer, she watches the earth and the seas.” Natsumi’s name (夏海) means ‘summer sea’.
“Aki-no-Kami, the god of autumn, he watches the great expanse and all who exist within.” Akihiro’s name (秋広) means ‘autumn expanse’.
“Fuyu-no-Kami, the god of winter, she watches the flow of time and every moment in eternity.” Chifuyu’s name (千冬) means ‘thousand winters’.
Hahaha so the names have (a bit) of meanings...what does it mean?? Let’s hope I manage to survive and continue the story to the point where it’s explained a bit better 🤣
Also we saw Murexmon this chapter! I was already set on her general body shape but so indecisive regarding her helmet lol.
Tumblr media
Also yes she can come out of her helmet! She doesn’t usually do it because she’s totally defenseless in this form. Imagine a soft slug, but without the slime...the texture would feel like a plush toy but alive, kind of. Does she have legs? It’s a mystery O:
Tumblr media
Lastly, the enemy Digimon of this chapter is the official Digimon WaruSeadramon! Yes if you’ve watched Digimon Adventure there’s the not-so-subtle parallel of WaruSeadramon triggering Dedemon’s evolution like how MegaSeadramon triggered Ikkakumon’s evolution in Adventure lol 😆
That’s all for now! I start a new job tomorrow so I don’t know what that will mean for my already slow update speed 😵‍ I hope it goes smoothly so I can continue their story!

D02's "The Beginning" if Toei let 02 Chosen think this through even more Rationally
02 Chosen: (*seeing a YOUNG TAICHI & HIKARI*, VERY Confuse) Someone like Daisuke or Hikari: But HOW do we get back HOME?? ? Ken: If Taichi-san and the younger Hikari-san are here, then *the rest could be*, too. Ken: Which could *also mean*, *KOUSHIRO*-SAN... We *could* 'LOOK' *for Koushiro*. Hikari: I remember where Koushiro-san's {place} is!! Miyako, worried: But wouldn't Koushiro-san be *very young* here?? Ken: *Maybe*... but it's *worth a try*. DAISUKE: HOW would it be *worth a try* if Koushiro-san is like a 5-going-on-6 year old?!?? KEN: Koushiro-san probably had at least a *starting* computer setup *even back then*. EVERYONE: !!!!! Iori: Koushiro-san's computer might be able to open up the Digital Gate to take us back home!! Takeru: That's right!! Even *at a young age*, Koushiro-san had an interest in gathering knowledge, and *may* even have had a computer - or the laptop - even back then!! KEN: If *I* try to go back home and use *ours*... KEN, HESITATING: (OSAMU would likely find me.) KEN: (If Osamu found us, it could turn out BAD.) Ken: (Because Osamu would likely *instinctively* Know it's Me, somehow...) Ken: ... It wouldn't be good if someone from "our time" sees and recognizes us, but Koushiro-san *doesn't know us Yet*. Hikari: Koushiro-san is very dedicated to our cause, if it came to it, Koushiro-san would keep our secret! Miyako, getting kind of excited now: So it's settled! Let's *look for Koushiro-san* then!! DAISUKE: I can't believe we're seeking the help of a *five-going-on-six year old* Koushiro-san... Rui: If it means we can *find and HELP* Ukkomon, I'm willing to try, even if I don't know Izumi. (They reach the Izumi household...) Young Koushiro, upon outside the Izumi household already, looking at them as if they're SUSPICIOUS (because They Are): Who are YOU??? DAISUKE: (*ERK*...) (To Be Continued, Maybe...!!)

i’ve seen a lot of ‘what if the animorphs were in x situation instead?’ questions around but comparatively few ‘what if x characters were in the animorphs’ position?’, at least recently
right now the question for me is ‘how would each of the Digidestined groups handle the Animorphs pressure/situation?’ and i’m just going to ramble under a read more about that :]
covering them in order of release, and assuming they all use the construction site-elfangor-meeting first incident;
i think the original adventure group would do fairly well, as long as you don’t see Jou spilling the beans to the wrong adult too quickly - having human Controllers on-site would do well to discourage him from telling anyone, unless he goes right to someone he trusts who is a Yeerk target… particularly a doctor, if they pull a hospital infestation scheme i think Taichi would do well to handle some of the difficult decisions Jake has to handle, and he wouldn’t be as aloof as he is in Adventure where he thinks the Digital World is a video game - he knows this is real life. however the bigger problem is trust - can he obtain and continue to have everyone’s trust to lead them? none of the group would pull a David and betray anyone, but even forming a split faction could cause a lot of trouble or even result in accidentally sabotaging the other team. all that and - i don’t think everyone would end up part of the group. takeru and hikari might or might not have a reason to be at the construction site with the others, but if not, their older brothers would have every reason not to involve them in this. additionally, Mimi would likely wish to withdraw/stop with missions at some point; she’s similar to Cassie, but doesn’t quite have that steel core to pull off ruthless decisions that Cassie has. so that would reduce the main group to Taichi, Yamato, Sora, Jou, and Koushiro for a time, which seems like a pretty good group, as long as they can get to a zoo for good morphs.
the 02 group also seems likely to pull it off as long as no one makes rash decisions - i especially don’t see the ‘andalite bandit’ ruse working with this group, since Daisuke himself would sound too ‘human child’ and find it hard not to talk to anyone, especially if they do anything nasty to innocents - which is always.. they’d certainly rely on guidance from the Adventure group a lot - I imagine they could be a group of kids that wander in on the Adventure group morphing, and swear to work with the group and never tell another person of what they saw, eventually getting morphing powers to join in since they’re determined to help. Taichi is still in charge, but Daisuke and Miyako trade off being the ‘uniting push’ of their little cell of younger kids. if Hikari and Takeru were involved from the start, they’d sort of become more direct mentors and contacts with the 02 kids, since they’d be in classes together and raise less suspicion. there’d still be a slight distance between them, but it would be known from the start rather than discovered later on that Hikari and Takeru already have history, so there would also be less drama between Daisuke and Takeru. in the case that Hikari and Takeru were brought in later, they’d probably form closer bonds to the other 02 kids, since they all know less of what’s going on, and both Hikari and Takeru might be very upset their older brothers kept them out of the loop so long, even with the intent of protecting them.
Tamers is a little rougher to estimate, mostly because it’s been a little while since I’ve seen it and gotten a fresh look at their characterization. I’m bound to think Takato would be too bold/reckless messing with morphing at some point and get found - he seems the type to be all in on cool animal powers like Cassie or Tobias, and probably be the first to try mixed-DNA morphs to emulate fictional creatures. Rika would be tougher at first to motivate into helping out unless she had something personal at stake, such as discovering a family member of hers is a Controller, or she merely drew enough satisfaction from the fight Rachel-style. I don’t think Rika necessarily has a strong desire to get to fight in a war, even if she is competitive, and in canon was willing to kill Digimon, so she wouldn’t exactly be a Rachel-type. Henry would probably take point among the three, excepting times Rika argues for a different plan and Takato has to try to mediate, since he wouldn’t want Rika to make all the decisions and has a strategic mind of his own. He’s probably the most afraid that any of them lose their reluctance to kill; Takato doesn’t think about it for ages until he himself snaps, and Rika’s already aware of the possibility/reality they’ll need to kill and could face and adapt to that quicker. Jeri would be susceptible to stress, and I think is most likely to become trapped as a nothlit; not necessarily trying to ‘escape’ her family, but getting herself in a bad situation where she can’t demorph. Kenta and Kazu are significantly less helpful as a main fighting force, mostly because they’re worse with subtlety and might want to show off morphing if they ignore how gross it is, or avoid facing the awful aspects of the war. I think they could still be wrangled in, though, and are probably another set of ‘stumbled in on Tamers-Animorph operations, thus becoming witnesses and involved with the group’. Suzie won’t be involved at all here except perhaps as a Controlled hostage - there’s no reason to bring her in intentionally since she’s so young, and she wouldn’t be a desirable Controller. Lastly, the lack of Digimon - I would argue that this only strongly affects Tamers and Fusion, mostly because in those series, the Digimon more often act contradictory or independently of the human cast and as their own character. Even still, the fantasy novelty of Guilmon is still introduced with the wonder of morphing, Henry’s worry of becoming battle-hungry is transferred to himself, Takato, and Rika instead of Terriermon, and Rika is the only one strongly affected, having no friend in the background of her life and having to resort to Takato and Henry for understanding and companionship. Additionally, her more pragmatic attitude of being willing to kill enemies will be more useful against the Yeerks than it is against Digimon when they can be sent back or befriended.
Frontier - and here’s a ragtag group for sure!! I think it’d be a bit important to note many of them could be considered ‘outcasts’, and so they’d either be more or less notable for all grouping up as friends suddenly. Takuya’s probably the one to first reach out and contact the others about what they saw in the construction site last night, whereas Koichi would likely be the first to try out morphing. They’d all get along decently - brought together moreso by the war than anything, but still finding that they like and respect these others. The reveal to Kouji that he has a twin is definitely overshadowed by the alien crash landing right afterwards, and Koichi’s plan to properly introduce himself to his twin is likewise ruined. (I'm imagining a plot where, like Jake getting infested and being impersonated by Ax for three days, Kouji becomes a Controller temporarily and Koichi takes his place the most out of anyone - with necesary gaps so he can have time with his own mother to avoid suspicion, and others take their turns as Kouji.) Takuya would probably be more of a Rachel pushing the group along without real leadership power - at least at first, while he's still intent on 'trying their best' being able to overcome any odds, while Kouji and particularly Koichi both know that this is not true and too much optimism could make them reckless or dead. It likely takes a close call with nearly becoming a nothlit for Takuya to wisen up some - like the Dark Trailmon/Flamon encounter he has in canon. He's still steadfast once he stops shaking from the trauma, and winds up becoming a better influence over the group than before. Instead, I wonder if they'd even have a true 'group leader' before that, or if it all just comes to a vote. Izumi might be candidate for leader, or perhaps Kouji if he pushes on Takuya's ideas enough and suggests his own? And Tomoki - he definitely does NOT want anything to do with the war, which doesn't have nearly as many redeeming aspects as becoming an epic Digimon superhero warrior. He'd enjoy playing with morphing and avoid getting involved with any real action against the Yeerks, up until something like a Veleek or morph detector forces him to choose for certain which way; abandon morphing forever and clean his hands of it, or join the group and take the risk to have support and get to morph safely? there could be a lot of fun ideas here :] i’m inclined to say they could make it, but would have a few bumps along the road
last one I'm covering is Fusion - i'm only 3 episodes in to my rewatch after only having seen the dub years ago, so I'm coming at this with my only concrete knowledge being very early characterization. Taiki is a pretty easy sell for helping out against the Yeerks, there's no way he could possibly ignore an Andalite's last dying request and hope, even if it didn't personally concern him as a member of humanity. Akari and Zenjirou would be against it at first until Taiki points out that they’re all affected too, whether they fight back or not - all they can do is choose some resistance, or let things progress as they already are, out of sight. Taiki being the sort of guy he is, he’s naturally going to be their ‘Jake’ with the plan and mid-battle orders. This is the team with the most charismatic AND strategically talented leader imo, only held back by the conviction Akari and Zenjirou have to fight at all. They’d find some soon enough, though. The bigger question is how the other Generals come into this - there isn’t more than one Elfangor, after all, and the alternative is shifting Taiki’s group to the ‘kids who stumble in on Kiriha/Nene’s operations’ to maintain that they are the newbies to the game, or giving them a meeting with a different Andalite such as Ax somehow, to still obtain morphing in a unique encounter, but not be the most in-the-know. Or having them all share the same first encounter, but form their own teams - maybe after all getting morphing tech, Kiriha or Nene make away with the Escafil Device, being the only ones capable of recruiting, and doing so when they’re certain someone would be safe. They’d also more often get in one another’s way if they stay separate, making it dangerous to still form separate teams, but Kiriha’s ruthlessness would put Taiki off from joining with, even if some ruthlessness is necessary and Taiki himself is a tad too soft with letting Controllers back free, risking one of them seeing something before reporting back. This set might be in a precarious position because of that, even if otherwise they have plenty of skill and intelligence to tackle the Yeerk invasion.
and that’s all yippiee :D if you’ve read this, I thank you sincerely and wonder what you think - did i miss something? remember something wrong? is there a different cooler idea that i should’ve thought of? i’d love to hear :D

Creating News/Status
Help I have too many projects on the brain D: Info beneath the cut, if you're interested.
Puits d'Amour
I have about 2.5 updates worth of written content remaining from Nanowrimo 2022. Only 1 of these updates can be posted soon-ish, because I need to add material in between the next chapter and the one after that (basically I think I need to write a new chapter in the middle to cover some stuff that occurred to me post Nanowrimo).
My next update will be Kido-Sensei. After that, there will likely be some kind of pause to PdA. I'm not sure for how long.
Tri: Integrity Lens
I have one chapter that's looking quite good! It has a ton of Yamato, a truly lovely scene with Yamato and Takeru, and then some Yamato and Koushiro. I love writing characters together who don't interact as much in canon, so I'm really looking forward to this chapter, and I think it's great.
After that, I've got about 10k ish of bits and bobs, a third of a chapter here, a scene there.
Four Years and Four Years edits
There is literally zero progress on this, whomp whomp.
Infinite Possibilities
This upcoming story has three phases, and one is entirely planned (!!!!!). I worked on it a lot in 2020 after the initial Kizuna feels, then... Um... Forgot about it? Left it? More about this here, here, and here! It’s a story that begins before Kizuna and explores the aftermath.
Super Secret Project
I meant to publish this in October 2022, but too much was happening and too much continued to happen and it's almost a year later and THERE IS. STILL. TOO MUCH.
Usually I spill the beans waaay too early- see fic the announcement from February 2020 above that has not come to pass lmao- but I somehow managed to keep this one quiet! I probably shouldn't be this impressed with myself for not blabbing to my blog, lmao xD
So basically, it seems like I will update PdA next, then TIL, and then...
I have no idea. None.
I also have a lot of art to do. I want to make a piece for the 02 countdown event, Jyou week, and- Oh uh, right, um. I'm hosting a Koushiro week in October. And I should. Probably. Have. Content for that.
Basically, I can't promise anything right now, and I'm not even sure what my Nanowrimo project will be, or if I'll... Well, tbh, I'm not sure how viable Nanowrimo is this year? I was thinking I could write the first phase of Infinite Possibilities for Nanowrimo 2023, since it's planned and I... Don't have PdA or TIL planned out in detail. I guess I could use the remaining time until Nanowrimo planning one of them? Maybe I should do a um poll?
I have no idea... If you have a preference, let me know!

Interesting~
In this case it would certainly be someone they didn't expect to do it. Daisuke & V-mon could be perfect suspects, but they wouldn't kill someone. They're a bunch of walking messes when doing things in the shadows and obviously Ken would catch them before they could commit the murder. So, they're spared.
Miyako and Hawkmon are also walking messes but they have a certain sincerity in their actions and in their hearts. And Ken would also catch them quickly. They're spared.
Iori and Armadimon are a suspicious duo. Iori also has the deadpan face and the coolness on his side -- he's a future lawyer after all. He knows how to play dumb or to not show emotions if calm. But we know if you make him angry or cornered he will slip into casual speech because that's how Iori reacts in those scenarios. Plus, Armadimon is a little box of surprises. But no, I don't think they would murder Yamato & Gabumon if they respect their seniors. So, they're spared.
Takeru and Patamon are jesters who would definitely catch Ken's radar (Wormmon's too, don't worry -- when i say "Ken" i'm always making it on a combo  Ken-Wormmon) because they're pretty sus in his opinion. Why would Takeru kill Yamato? Well, for funsies! But that wouldn't track well... Takeru would adore messing with Yamato like a good little brother would do, but murder him? In Ken's mind he would think Takeru would rather go after the killer instead! So, Takeru and Patamon are not the murderers! Spared!
Hikari and Tailmon are suspicious because they're pretty good at hiding feelings and there's the fact Hikari has manipulative skills -- She can pretty much commit the crime and manipulate everyone to not suspect her. She's on Ken's watch list. But why would she murder Yamato? I mean, she got no beef with him since she met him for the first time... Maybe she's not the person to commit murder. Spared?
Wallace and the twin-mons are here because they know most of the 02 kids, but Ken never met him before -- he's a rare card in this game. Wallace is observed to be a trainwreck and wouldn't commit murder of someone he barely knows. Wallace only knows Mimi, Koushiro and the 02 group. He had heard stories about him being pretty shady and hiding stuff from others. Also, he's a flirt. Why not kill Yamato to get Sora's heart? Suspicious... But he's also a trainwreck by what Daisuke told him before (and not during this game) -- So Ken would know if he had committed murder or not. In this case... They're spared.
Now let's go further -- we have the older six, some of them would definitely murder Yamato for some reason. Everyone knows the young kids might not have murdered Yamato and Gabumon, so they're all staring at the biggest suspicious duo: Taichi and Agumon.
Taichi had fights with Yamato, but would he and Agumon murder Yamato and Gabumon? The answer is... Yeah, probably. Taichi would do that for funsies, just to make Yamato mad. He loves to tease Yamato to the point he would like to kill his friend in this dummy murder mystery game. EXCEPT not. No, it would be too fucking obvious folks. Taichi would be the one getting framed by EVERYONE but Daisuke and Hikari. And since this is obvious, Ken is not buying it at all. They're spared.
Sora and Piyomon are obviously spared because well... Would she kill his boyfriend? Depending on Sora's role in the game, she could get the ambitions of i dunno, get Yamato's money or something else. But I think everyone agrees Sora would rather murder the killer than being the killer. She and Piyomon are spared.
Koushiro and Tentomon are quite sus. But they wouldn't murder Yamato and Gabumon, right? Well then, he could get a reason for depending on his role in the game... But Ken knows Koushiro well enough to deduce Koushiro would rather be on the investigation team than committing a murder. So, Koushiro and Tentomon are spared.
Now, now... We got two left: Jou and Mimi.
Jou and Gomamon are the first ones to get into Ken’s suspect list. Not that they’re that bad, but Gomamon is almost a trickster and we know Jou would get the guts enough to commit murder if something like blackmail is on table. But at the same time… No, why would Jou murder Yamato? They get along pretty well, they’re on good terms. It couldn’t be him! Could be!? Well, Ken is sparing them for now.
Mimi and Palmon are suspicious, but maybe not. Mimi has the guts too, despite being pretty nice and against battles. Mimi doesn’t need to commit the murder by herself! It could be by accident! Or she ordered someone to kill Yamato for her. Anyway, Mimi wouldn’t murder Yamato either, because she wouldn’t like to. So, maybe she and Palmon should be spared…
So, who's the liar? Which set of kid-digi committed the crime? 🤔
02 Kids murder mystery party game. Ken is the detective, of course.
Who do you think is the victim, and who do you think is the murderer?
Rules:
The digimon cannot kill their own human partners
Both kid and their digimon are the victims and another set are the murderers
Ken & Wormmon are detectives, don't frame them, ok :|
Yeah you can include the older six and Wallace. Sorry no Meiko/Maki/Daigo/Menoa/Imura because they all didn't know them. (Rui might be out of this too, since we don't know much about him yet )
Ok, discuss~

[fanfic] A New Dawning
Taichi wasn’t used to sleeping outside or traveling all day long. When he woke up, he was used to waking up inside of his pleasant bedroom, with guards in their usual places. He would eat with his parents and Hikari, meals that held the greatest and most variety of flavors.
Everything he had, everything he did, just seemed so soft compared to how he and the others lived now. He slept every night near Yamato, if not in his arms, and for every meal someone, usually Mimi, went out to gather whatever she could find for them to eat.
Which was often strange, because as a dryad, she could and did eat things that humans considered either moss or algae or whatever. She was getting better at finding what he, Takeru, Iori, and Hikari could eat safely, though.
Not all of the others needed to be as careful. Yamato was undead – something that he had to admit unnerved him if he thought about it too much – and only quietly slipped away to find what he needed when he had to. Sora was an angel of love, and Taichi had to admit he had no idea of what she needed to eat. He’d seen her eating a few normal fruit, but she’d also said she could go without if necessary.
Daisuke and Ken ate – things. Taichi refused to look too closely at what they ate. Ken was half-demon and could probably have eaten anything from nail shavings to dust and still gained nutrition out of it. Daisuke was a construct, a creature built of magic, and frequently shared Ken’s meals, no matter what they were. Both of them could eat almost anything, but he’d noticed that since this journey began, they shared whatever there was enough to share, with the four humans getting the first pick of it all.
What are Jou and Koushiro going to be like? He vaguely recalled having met Jou once or twice, back even before Yamato’s revelation as being a siren and subsequent – issues.
He didn’t really want to think of those issues being “sentenced to death for the crime of being a siren, throat being slit, and thrown out, only to be brought back as a vampire” and everything else that came from that. So he didn’t.
What he’d heard boiled down to the fact Jou was a vampire now as well, and Koushiro was a werecat.
And I’m going to be a werecat too. At least they hoped that he would be. He had to be something supernatural to avoid being affected by Yamato’s voice. If that didn’t happen, Yamato wasn’t ever going to talk around him again.
That wasn’t ever going to happen. He’d make Yamato bite him if he had to!
He knew he’d have a hard time convincing Yamato of that. So he didn’t worry himself about it right now and concentrated on gathering the wood for the evening fire. He had no idea of how far away they were from the kingdom, but they’d been traveling for weeks.
I should send Mother and Father a message. They’d want to know what he was doing. He’d probably be disowned and cut off from being heir. But he could manage that. Becoming a werecat probably wouldn’t help with that anyway.
So what else would he do with his life? He’d been raised and trained and taught everything he knew to be a prince and later king. Would Hikari return? She hadn’t had quite the same lessons, but it had been more or less assumed she’d enter into the priesthood and not have to worry about ruling.
His eyes flicked by the small white cat – or a not-cat – seated at Hikari’s side as she checked over Miyako. The phoenix – who went off to do her own hunting on a regular basis – had almost healed from the injuries she’d suffered during the battle against Vamdemon.
Even if she doesn’t rule, she might not join the priesthood regardless. Not when she had her very own guardian angel, and the potential to ally them with the phoenix clan.
That would all have to wait for later, though. First he would ensure that Yamato’s supernatural voice couldn’t affect him – at least not anymore than it normally did, since the blond had always had an amazing singing voice. Then he’d figure out what being a werecat meant and if it would cut him away from his realm forever.
His gaze shifted over the circle of people as he settled the pile of wood down and began to sort it properly. He’d barely known how to do this when their journey began. Just one of the many things he’d learned.
A vampire-siren. Four humans. A dryad. An angel. A construct. A prince of demons. A phoenix.
Two that he’d not yet met, but he had high hopes they’d become friends as well – another vampire and a werecat. Everything he’d heard said that they were decent people and that was what mattered, wasn’t it?
They were all his friends, and were going to be his friends if all worked out. If he couldn’t stay to be king, then they’d help him find someone who could. Ken surely knew people! If his parents didn’t trust a demon prince’s judgment, then wouldn’t that of a cupid or a phoenix be worthy?
They were his friends. He had problems and they would help him work through those problems.
I wonder if we can keep traveling after this. Maybe that was something he could do for his people, if not be king. He could be an ambassador, traveling all over the world, to all different types of realms. This could only be the beginning. They could make connections, forge alliances, and meet new people from one end of the world to the other.
His friends would help with that, too. He believed that down the core of his soul. A fresh start for all of them. He hoped it was an auspicious one.
The End
Notes: They have so much ahead of them. And one day I will write it. I hope.

押花の栞
enlightenmonth // [day 13-16] flower or animal managed to write a koura interaction on a koukari event, specifically on the timespan that was supposed to be my birthday, about flower—which happened to be the meaning of my real name. setting: somewhere after 02, except the flashback of course.
___
Somewhere in winter, his mother suddenly announced the arrival of Taichi and Sora in their apartment. Noticing that it was already six in the evening, Koushiro couldn’t help but frown at the somewhat ungodly visiting hours. However, he quickly stopped questioning once he realised that, like any other students in their final year, both of them probably just finished some extra hours of studying at the cram school, which happened to be located near the Izumi’s residence.
Koushiro had opened the door to his room as an invitation, but instead of going in, Taichi flew down the corridor so fast he almost tripped himself before disappearing from their visions.
“Well. As you can probably tell, we—I mean he—come for your toilet,” Sora sighed, somehow a bit embarrassed. She entered Koushiro’s room, immediately scooted closer to the heater. “He would probably tell you that it was because of the cold, but I know for sure it’s because he ate too much spicy ramen for lunch.”
Koushiro muffled a laugh, making his way back to the desk. “Don’t worry. Please make yourself comfortable. Sorry if I can’t talk too much right now. I have to help Miyako-san,and it’s a bit complicated.”
Sora didn’t have to ask; she knew it was definitely about the Digital World stuff. “Oh, don’t mind me. I’m the one who should apologise for interrupting,” she said, still kneeling in front of the heater while rubbing both of her palms. “Please, continue.”
Being the polite one as always, Koushiro gave a slight smile before retreating his sight to the computer. With his back facing Sora, he could only rely on his ears to predict whatever Sora was currently doing. Small steps then led to the sound of turning pages; perhaps she was reviewing the materials for the upcoming mock test.
“Oh, wow.”
A hint of admiration in her tone raised Koushiro’s curiosity and pushed him to spin around. To his surprise, Sora was standing in front of his full-wall, library-like bookshelf. Her hands were holding a book titled Algorithms Unlocked, and Koushrio’s brow once again furrowed—not only because it was such a thick book, but he didn’t know that Sora had an interest in mathematical science.
“This is nice.” But then he found out his assumptions were again incorrect because Sora picked up something from the middle of the page. It was a bookmark with pressed purplish flowers in the middle that—funnily—made Koushiro’s eyes widened.
“Where did you find it?!” He jumped out of his chair—causing Sora to startle and reflectively extend her arms as if she was defending herself, only to make it easier for Koushiro to take the bookmark. “I’ve been searching for this for a long time!”
“Really…?” Sora asked groggily, still feeling the shock of his sudden ‘acrobat’. “I didn’t know you are interested in flowery things. Where did you get it?”
He was about to tell the story straight away before the sense of nostalgia put a halt to his excitement outburst. Koushiro suddenly wasn’t sure if he wanted to share the little tale behind the thing he currently held tightly.
Back when he was still in grade school, Taichi also came to Koushiro’s house pretty often, except his little sister would also tag along on some occasions. At some rare opportunities, Taichi even had the ‘nerve’ to drop Hikari alone in Koushiro’s care because he needed to go to soccer practice and no one was at home to watch her. These were the days that made Koushiro felt a little uneasy because frankly he didn’t know how to interact with her. Hikari was always the one who sat beside Taichi in silence, patiently waiting for her brother to finish playing with his friend. Koushiro never heard about what she liked the best, and his lack of social skill only set the barrier higher.
One day, however, she brought a couple of flowers in her hands.
“I saw some petunias on my way here,” she explained. “My teacher once said we can keep the flowers from being wilted by pressing them between a very thick book.”
She stopped before continuing. “The books in my house aren’t thick enough. Can I borrow yours?”
Koushiro allowed her, although the books in his weren’t exactly his. Most of them were his father’s collection because the room used to be Izumi Masami’s workstation before he turned it into a bedroom for his son. Nevertheless, they decided not to move the shelf because there was no space left in their tiny apartment.
It wasn’t right to let little Hikari picked the book by herself, so Koushiro assisted her by grabbing the first book he considered thick enough. Hikari placed the flowers carefully in the middle of the page, covering them with a sheet of blank paper so the flowers wouldn’t leave a stain, before closing the book tightly.
“Then we have to wait for about a week,” she said. “And we cannot open the book at all before the time runs out.”
Koushiro only nodded and returned the book to the shelf without any intention of pulling it out. In fact, he almost forgot about it because Hikari never came to his house within the next seven days. The moment she showed up in front of his door again was on the ninth day, but this time she came with Taichi, and she brought a paperboard and stationaries like glue and scissors. She took the initiative to pull the book by herself before doing some crafts while the boys were playing the game console.
Just when Taichi won his third round, Koushiro got two taps on his shoulder. The moment he turned around, he was greeted by a bookmark with pressed petunias in its centre.
“This is for you,” Hikari said with her right hand still stretched so Koushiro could observe the thing a little bit closer. “I understand you like books, so this will surely help you to keep track of your readings.”
While Koushiro was taken aback by her small present, Taichi complained in jealousy (“Why don’t you give it to me instead? Is it because you don’t strike me as a bookworm?”). Hikari didn’t faze with his brother’s knack, however, and still held out her arm in the direction of Koushiro as she waited for him to take it.
And when Koushiro decided to take the bookmark, the curve on her lips grew wider before she said gleefully, “Thank you for letting me use your book, Koushiro-san.”
“…it’s a gift.” Smiling faintly, Koushiro decided to settle on a more generic approach to answering Sora’s question. “Someone gave it to me.”
Sora paused for a moment, but then she also smiled with a knowing expression on her face. “Judging from your reaction, it’s from someone important, right?”
Koushiro blinked.
“Don’t worry. I think the one who gave you the bookmark also thought the same,” Sora continued. “Petunia means that your presence is soothing, Koushiro. I believe whenever this person is with you, there is a sense of comforting—which make you precious.”
It was only natural for Sora to know such things. She was a daughter of an ikebana grandmaster, so she might have the fluency of floral language. However, Koushiro wondered if Hikari also shared the same knowledge—she was always full of surprise, after all. Did she really pick the flower because she happened to pass a patch of wild petunia on her way to his house? Or did she deliberately search for this particular species because of the hidden message she tried to send?
The only thing that he knew for sure now was the burning sensation on his cheeks as if he had the ability to mimic the heater where Sora nested earlier.

Digimon Astrology Journey - 'Head first' buddies: Koushiro & Taichi
So I’m back with some headcanon Digimon Astrology and I’m diving into it head first! Something fierce leader Taichi would do, however he needs his loyal ‘brains’ there with him and that will be Koushiro. Where Koushiro is a thinker, analytical in every way due to his pragmatic Sun and Rising, Taichi is one of action due to his Moon and Rising (and Mars!). However don’t underestimate them, they have some serious airy energy going on, making them vocal, diplomatic and charming in their own individual ways.
Tumblr media
These boys are so different, yet work together very well. They just have a hard time… talking to others or each other about… the complicated, personal specific stuff feelings. Must be the stars, right?
It’s been a while, but you can read back all things Astrology (basics, background, etc.) in previous posts Part 1 | Part 2. Furthermore, exploring Taichi and Koushiro’s birth charts is part 2 of this series, you can read the exploration of Sora and Mimi’s birth charts here.
The important stuff
Koushiro Izumi, August 26th 1989 (around 05.30AM)
Sun: Virgo (earth-mutable)
Moon: Gemini (air-mutable)
Rising: Virgo (earth-mutable)
Taichi Yagami, October 15th 1988 (around 5PM)
Sun: Libra (air-cardinal)
Moon: Sagittarius (fire-mutable)
Rising: Aries (fire-cardinal)
Warning: IT’S VERY LONG! I’m sorry in advance…
A little disclaimer before I start rambling: These are headcanons! Their given birthdays are not canon at all, but just me having fun combining my love for Digimon and my love for Astrology. It can be highly self-indulging, but maybe you can find some truth in it as well! If you want to know how I calculated their birthdays, read my previous posts as stated above. I use these birthdays in my own fanfiction, but feel free to use them as well. Some credit in the form of a reblog, like or mention of these posts and/or my Tumblr would be highly appreciated! See something you want to discuss? I love to learn and talk! As said these are my headcanons, but I’m not afraid to change my mind or to defend what I have if necessary.
Everything charts and the why under read more!
Koushiro Izumi - August 26th 1989
Tumblr media
Assigning the Virgo Sun to this boy was the first thing I did, because I myself am convinced Koushiro Izumi is the embodiment of a true Virgo. I could be wrong, as I did not study Astrology and am a simple hobbyist, but everything I read about Virgos always lead me back to this particular maroon headed anime dork for years now. Hence why I gave him the same Sun and Rising sign, because Koushiro is who he is. Anyway, let me try to convince you.
For starters, here are a few (or actually all the) things about Virgos in general, for both Sun and Rising. Virgos are bright, practical, pragmatic, orderly, respectful, critical, perfectionists, security driven, communicative, tidy, nervous, detail-oriented… Can I stop already? Okay, now pick one of the above and tell me it’s not fitting for Koushiro.
Hm, I know. It’s hard, isn’t it?
Maybe his tidiness is questionable depending on the situation… But the guy is orderly and the chaos only exists in times when his perfectionism takes over. The nervous part from the Virgo can be seen in shyness or even being obedient. All of that makes Koushiro a dedicated friend who would do anything in his power to make everything work for you. Danger is that he will efface himself, thinking he’s not worth as much as the others. This is what happens in Adventure episode 28 right after he solved the card riddle. On the top left corner either the Agumon or the Gomamon is right, but he doesn’t know which one and he apologizes, which is not necessary at all, with: “I’m sorry I couldn’t live up to your expectations,” which is such a Virgo Sun/Rising thing to say..! The Virgo dynamic is alive and kicking.
It’s even more alive and kicking in his other strong Virgo placements: Mercury and Mars. With Mercury in Virgo, Mercury is in it’s sign of its rulership, making it a strong placement. And precisely that planet is the planet of thoughts and knowledge! The combination of his Sun, Rising, Mercury and Mars in Virgo makes him be, engage, think and act like a true Virgo. Detail-oriented, thoughtful, respectful, orderly, practical and curious!
The hardest part for his birthday calculation was his Moon placement. The Moon is all about emotions, needs, wants, behavior, responds, et cetera. I first gave him a Capricorn Moon, but my boyfriend is such a Cap Moon and it didn’t fit the bill for Koushiro in my opinion. So I read and searched and eventually came to the conclusion it had to be an Air sign Moon, simply for the fact that our boy Koushiro is the bearer of the crest of Knowledge and Air signs can be seen as the intellectual ones of the Zodiac! Eventually I went for the Gemini Moon and I’m going to explain why exactly.
One could say Gemini is the bearer of Knowledge just as much as Koushiro is. Gemini LOVE to know things! They are naturally curious and are great communicators, when it comes to knowledge (pun warning if you’ve seen the reboot: they love to bring joy to their knowledge). Gemini tend to be a bit superficial when it comes to having and sharing knowledge and of course we know that’s not the case with our Koushiro here, due to his many Virgo placements, making him more observant and inward. What the Gemini Moon DOES to him is making this boy very talkative! He likes to spill what’s on his mind, he likes to share what he thinks, he likes to ramble and rant. It’s something we see him doing in Tri a lot, especially that one scene in Reunion part 3 (episode 3) where he keeps on rambling about all the strange events and he misses the first part of the conversation between the other DigiDestineds (about the news and Jyou’s ‘girlfriend’ poor guy no one believes him). Koushiro misses the conversation because a) his Gemini Moon likes to ramble and keep rambling, and b) because his Virgo placements can make him a bit unaware of his surroundings quite the time…
That’s not a bad thing per se, Koushiro is just very much focused on his work and d e t a i l s, which is a VERY Virgo-ish trait. But lets not forget that his priority is to help others with that knowledge and that the combination of his Virgo placements with his Gemini Moon makes him a great mentor. Brings me to his role throughout the entirety of Adventure 02: The Mentor. You’re welcome.
Another Gemini Moon thingy is rudeness. Now we know Koushiro is the most polite person out of ALL DD’s, always using honorifics, even saying Hikari-san instead of Hikari-chan, because Koushiro IS respect. But Koushiro is not afraid to tell you what’s at stake in times of ‘danger’, he’s not afraid to tell the truth. There are a few examples for that in Adventure, Adventure 02 and in Tri, but I’d like to refer to one of my favorite moments in whole Digimon Adventure history. Because Koushiro x rudeness brings me back to Diaboromon strikes back when he’s obviously so done with everyone, then Mimi enters the scene and he doesn’t even care. In the English dub she literally says “How rude”. Ooooohhh Koushiro, you little rude demon… It’s not the biggest proof it’s a simple one and my personal favorite.
All of the talkativeness and rudeness is something we mostly see Koushiro doing when he’s most comfortable. So we won’t see him being all talkative all the time -sharing more than just plain, superficial knowledge and instead more personal helpful knowledge- with everyone, but we do see him being talkative and speaking up to certain characters he’s most comfortable with. Now name one boy he’s very talkative to compared with literally all the other characters… You know what? Scroll down.
Last thing and then I’ll stop rambling about this beautiful and lovely nerd. His Venus, planet of values (and love…) is in Libra. What does that mean? Well, I’ve seen quite some fans type Koushiro as a bi-sexual, or something in that direction. Or even better a ‘disaster bi-sexual’. I already agreed on that, but when I saw this birth chart… IT’S (HEAD)CANON! Seriously, Libra is the zodiac sign of doubt, decision making (or actually no decision making, but I’ll get there with the next boy) and relationships and if you have your Venus placed in Libra you’re doomed to be a disaster when it comes to making decisions in your love life both romantically and platonically! Venus in Libra creates the desire for a good and loving relationships, but Koushiro’s Virgo Sun/Rising makes him more shy, his Virgo Mars makes him hold back. Once again, the Virgo Sun/Rising-Libra Venus dynamic lets him efface himself in relationships, thinking they have nothing to offer, but they have!! And so Koushiro gets left behind with his unresolved feelings… the boy has a hard time in love, let’s give him all a hug!
Taichi Yagami - October 15th 1988
Tumblr media
The protagonist. Okay, let me compare this goggle headed protagonist to another goggle headed protagonist outside the Digimon franchise: Naruto. This is probably more interesting to people who have watched and know Naruto, so you can skip the part. To me Naruto is the classical protagonist type; bold, adventurous, playful, (a little) obnoxious at some times, hot headed… These are traits we easily assign to fire signs in the zodiac, especially Aries. So I would immediately give Naruto the Aries Sun placement. However, when we see Naruto grow up, his behavior and the way he speaks and leads grows up with him as well. That’s only natural. And based on those changes I wouldn’t necessarily give Naruto the Aries Sun placements, although the Aries placement or another fire placement is very likely to be present in his chart.
Now I could go even further, explain the development from child to adult through Jung’s theory about cognitive functions, but that’s incredibly complicated and a looooong stretch I won’t be making here today. In short, Jung’s development theory is interesting, because it shows how we first see the obvious traits in a child which are the traits the child engages (Rising sign) the world with before it develops the other functions showing the person’s true identity (Sun sign). So we could say we first see someone’s Rising sign more clearly before the Sun comes shining through. Like with Naruto. And the same could be for Taichi in the case of this headcanon.
To tackle his birth chart and big three, I’ll be starting with explaining his Rising Sign before his Sun sign. And the Rising sign I assigned him is Aries Rising.
Like I said above, Aries is bold, adventurous, playful and above all: courageous. Especially the Aries Rising placement which is more courageous than its Aries Sun counterpart. Aries are born leaders, can be extremely competitive, are somewhat restless and desperately need to move. In Taichi’s case with the above birth chart, that urge to move is magnified by his Aries Mars placement. The dynamic of his Aries Rising and Aries Mars makes Taichi a mover, an adventurer, and incredibly determined. This could be both positively, always wanting the best (especially for yourself, as Aries is a pretty selfish sign), and a tad negatively, always going and going and going. In the Adventure series this could be the reason why he makes Greymon dark-evolve, because he wants things too bad and too fast. Aries are hot headed and can grow impatient if things don’t go the way they want. And the Aries Rising and Mars dynamic makes Taichi a very physical guy. Mix that with the impatience and he is not afraid to pick fights and use his fists.
All of this can make Taichi a very stormy and reckless boy (boundaries? What’s that?), but also a fearless leader. The exuberance, the impatience and restlessness comes back in his Sagittarius Moon placement as well. This Sag Moon in combination with his strong Aries placements in Rising and Mars makes Taichi a sportive, physical, optimistic and forward leader that is incredibly courageous and adventurous, which could make him a bit ‘superficial’ as a protagonist. But the Sag Moon also deepens and strengthens his leader skills.
Sagittarius is a sign pictured by a centaur with an arrow and bow. The centaur’s horse legs make the Sag want to move and be free, but the arrow aims in a clear direction and aiming takes knowledge and focus. Sagittarius thus is an adventurous fella, but also a philosopher. Taichi’s Sag Moon placement makes him a pro in seeing the bigger picture and connecting dots next to his never ending energy. He will make sure we’re going in the right direction by overlooking the whole situation. So we absolutely shouldn’t forget Taichi is a true strategist! He sees, understands what’s at stake in a situation, connects the dots, comes with a strategy and like a true leader knows his team and can place everyone in his right spot to get through the toughest of situations (once again referring to Taichi asking Koushiro to pick the cards in Adventure episode 28). Speaking about a great leader, gosh, Taichi, you’re truly amazing! <3
However, it’s his Aries Rising and Mars that often make him act before he thinks, preferably alone (Taichi is a teamplayer, but the selfish and reckless Aries in him makes him act alone. And the sum of teamplayer + acting alone = self-sacrifice mode… which happens ALL THE DAMN TIME). Or actually makes him act while thinking without doing a short reflection beforehand. Seriously, I’m convinced that this reflection in advance could have saved him a lot of trouble throughout Digimon Adventure. Let’s blame it on (t)his (headcanon) birth chart…
Also, all of the above vouches for Taichi having an amazing intellect, but the guys needs to be challenged… Hence why he’s always staring out of the window during classes in Tri, daydreaming away to where the adventure is. He feels trapped, needs to be outside and should use his intelligence for things he finds important (like saving the digital world, soccer and saving friends and the world). The daydreaming could also be his Libra Mercury who can make Taichi lose his focus and could make him lazy. Luckily Taichi has a very active Aries Mars in opposite aspect from his Libra Mercury that neutralizes that lazy and dreamy Libra Mercury.
Okay, back to topic. Now you maybe think: But if Taichi is good in knowing where to go, being the fearless leader, also an intellect who has the knowledge to aim straight and shoot… then WHY is he so lost, down and in doubt in Tri and so unknowing of his future in Kizuna…??!! I have an answer to that. And that answer is his Libra Sun.
I know I know, this is a very VERY unpopular Sun sign to give this goggle leader, but please hear me out. For starters, Libra is the sign of diplomacy and if we believe the 02’s epilogue what’s Taichi’s job? Right, a diplomat. We also know he studies something like political sciences in Kizuna (which I think is AMAZING and vouches even more for Taichi’s intellect! Politics is a tough study…) and to make it in the political field you really do need diplomacy and charms.
Taichi is an absolute charmer, in my eyes at least. I mean, look at his 02 self! He’s such a smooth charmer in every way… The way he sends off Sora to Yamato while acting all cool and collected, phew, that requires some serious smoothness. And still we often see Taichi depicted as a down and broody boy besides his energetic and bold (sometimes indifferent…) character, especially after Tri. That too could be due to a Libra Sun placement.
Like Sagittarius is depicted by a centaur, Libra is depicted by scales and those scales are all about harmony, balance and justice. Libra is the opposite of Aries in the zodiac, but also about weighing opposites in the sigh itself. When we look at the Aries/Libra opposite placement: where Aries can be quite selfish, Libra as an opposite is the people’s pleaser. Where Aries is reckless and impatient, Libra is thoughtful and patient and one could say that an Aries acts where a Libra waits. Where Aries makes the impulsive decisions, Libra keeps deliberating leading into constant doubt and confusion. And how do we see Taichi in Tri? Ah yes, in doubt and confused.
A Libra Sun desperately wants to bring peace and harmony, driven by justice, in a diplomatic way. Libra Suns are deep thinkers which can make them very doubtful, making them spiraling down into a hole of overthinking and doubts. The Libra Sun-Sag Moon dynamic makes this all even more deep and almost philosophical in a way there will always be more and more questions, but never answers because Libra simply can’t make choices. All while being solution-oriented!
As Taichi grows up from a middle schooler to a high schooler, it’s that doubt coming from the Libra Sun that kicks Taichi hard. It conflicts with his carefree and bold Aries Rising nature and as that Libra Sun comes shining through, we see Taichi becoming more cautious and reserved compared to his younger self. The guy has a strong inner dialogue always looking for the best solutions to please everyone and bring harmony (I wanted to say ‘balance to the world’, yes to all the avatar the last airbender cameos) to the people and world(s in case of the digital world) around him he so desperately wants to protect. This is what we see happening in Tri, where he can’t choose what’s the right thing… Most of the time that inner dialogue is hidden behind his Aries Rising (and Aries Mars and Sag Moon).
So under that tough and courageous Aries Rising demeanor (remember that a Rising sign is all about engaging and how you come across to others) is a very soft, sweet, friendly and overall smart Libra Sun boy who has troubles expressing himself because the boy is in conflict with himself (which we see in the Dark Master’s arc in Adventure where he expresses his concerns towards his sister to Koushiro… it’s so hard for Taichi to let it all out, even when he needs it badly). It’s so sad, he’s such a complicated character, but that’s also one of the most beautiful things about Taichi. He’s layered af. He could be the best listener (Koushiro’s feels this, that’s why Koushiro can talk so open and freely to Taichi, because Taichi lets him thank you Libra Sun) if it weren’t for his strong fire placements opposite from his airy Sun sign. But give the boy time and space and he can show you his charms in a way no one else owns those charms.
So Taichi’s Libra Sun is hidden away most of the time due to his strong Aries placements. Usually his Rising and Sun sign being in opposite aspect from each other, should neutralize the placements, but Taichi’s Aries Mars placement makes the Aries Rising overrule the Libra Sun. Still, we shouldn’t forget Taichi is a softy with a big heart. He just needs the right people around him to get his charm on and Taichi definitely has some great people collected in his life who can help him think and make decisions.
A few things I want to point out before I stop rambling, because this analysis is already WAY too long.
Taichi’s midheaven in Capricorn in combination with his Libra Sun and Aries Rising makes him very ambitious on the intellectual side! Directly aiming for the UN and quickly climbing up the promotion ladder (and being successful like a true Cap, let’s not forget that).
His Mars was in transition from Pisces to Aries during his birth. Which means his Aries Mars is highly influenced by Pisces which could also explain why he spirals down as Pisces Mars has a lot of stormy energy on the emotional side (whereas Aries Mars has stormy energy on the physical side). When this emotional energy comes out negative, it can lead to mental health problems (!!! TRI DEPRESSED!TAICHI), especially when close friends and family (can you feel it coming? The whole Hikari-trauma is a thing) are involved.
His Libra Sun makes him in need of a group of friends and he loves being surrounded by them! Though he doesn’t like to admit that due to his Aries Rising. Taichi is such a conflicted boy…
An end note on these two boys: A heart to heart/hard friendship with a lot of mutual understanding and support <3

Prompt @winged-wolf-dreamer: Iori crushing on Koushiro when he's older. Not something that's reciprocated, but he just turns into a blushing, stuttering mess whenever Kou does anything. Bonus envy over taishiro too
Okay, now, while I want to emphasize that I won’t always be as inspired to do prompts like this since I’m still struggling to find any inspiration for Digiweek, welp, I must admit that I was hella intrigued by this idea. The relationship between Koushirou and the 02 Chosen Children is so incredibly interesting and definitely something I haven’t been able to put that much thought into (besides the fact that Koushirou is the most visible mentor in season 2 and that he and Taichi are literally their dads).
Now, Koushirou and Iori are obviously set up to be paralleled with each other - not only is Iori the heir of the Crest of Knowledge and also one of the shortest of his group, but both of them deal with their own inner turmoils in regards of their family backgrounds - and what that means for the development of their personal value systems. On one hand, you have Koushirou, who struggled with his sense of belonging, since he didn’t know who he was and where he came from due to him being adopted, which led to him focusing on his computer and developing a natural affinity for gathering knowledge (outside of himself) and solving problems - he would like to connect with others, but starts off struggling with it. However, through the adventures in the Digital World and his interactions with his partner and fellow Chosen Children, he grows into a person that actually is quite a persistent teacher, someone who thoroughly enjoys supporting others. He becomes a person “to look up to” due to his experience - and thus, to me, it makes perfect sense that Iori would not only admire but also crush on him.
Iori’s upbringing, the fact that his father, whom he also greatly looked up to, passed away - it all leads to him having a very strict, very black and white moral code at first and thus he also has a hard time to connect with others, although in different ways than Koushirou did/does, since their respective roles within their groups couldn’t be more different - while Koushirou is “the right hand” of the main protagonist, the brain, the active puzzle solver and natural plot driver, Iori is more of a thinker in the background. He contemplates a lot, he tries to figure out and deal with things internally - which is why I don’t really see him becoming a “blushing and stuttering mess” in front of his crush. He’s more the type to panic internally - and thus has a hard time approaching others casually. The last point - besides both of them being very curious people - may also be one of the biggest similarities they share and also something both of them gradually have to grow out of. So I can imagine that watching Koushirou may be a big inspiration for Iori in this regard (at least if we’re talking about their 02 characterisations). Just generally seeing Koushirou being so confident in front of their group, seeming so comfortable in Iori’s eyes - how could he not fall for (and probably also aspiring to be like) him?
Interestingly enough, both of them also have a “counterpart” character within their respective groups that (somewhat) makes them get out of their shell - Taichi and Takeru. Koushirou is his most open self when he’s with Taichi, not only because they’re portrayed as best friends early on, but also because they bounce off of each other quite well as “brain and brawn”, driving the adventure/plot forward most naturally - but due to their closeness, Taichi is also the character Koushirou gets most (openly) frustrated about, either when he gets into sacrifice mode, does something stupid unexpected or when he doesn’t open up to him and pushes him away. The latter is also a very interesting parallel to Iori and Takeru: Iori would certainly like to understand Takeru better, who obviously doesn’t open up to him either and displays rather contradicting behaviour, which makes it even more difficult for Iori to “categorize” him. Which makes “getting closer to him” quite hard to achieve as well.
So again - while Iori might certainly be able to observe Koushirou and learn how to (better) deal with idiots who keep their inner conflicts to themselves as well, he might also... Get slightly jealous of the relationship Taichi and Koushirou share with each other. Whether you read it as friendly or romantic... Iori, now being 17 years old, might feel like he’ll never be able to compare to this kind of openness. And that he might never be(come) as close - or as equal - to Koushirou as Taichi, two adults in their early twenties (as of Kizuna) who have been through hell and back together.
Tldr: It’s a bittersweet, unrequited crush - but maybe it’ll also help him to understand himself and how to deal with others even better.

I found your blog right now, and can I say how much I love your art??? Your expressions and designs are so fun and I can’t stop looking at them. Would you mind explaining more about your Camp Cretaceous and SCP AU? It’s totally fine if you don’t want to though!
I’m sorry, I’m overwhelmed with emotions since your art is so good.
Omg! Thank you so much! You can not believe how happy seeing this ask got me! As for the AUs? I would be more than happy to info dump about them, but be warned the SCP au doesn’t have as much development as the Camp Cretaceous AU.
SCP AU:
Originally, the digidestined were SCPs themselves, with their own unique abilities, and I will probably put more thought into that idea, but I decided to change it after I had issues thinking about what to do with the characters. Now, the AU has the SCP Foundation finding out about the digital world and decided to label it as SCP-9901, with the digimon and the digidestined labeled SCP-9901-02 and SCP-9901-03 respectively. This leads to digidestined across the world being kidnapped by the foundation and trying to escape. Some of the digidestined get ahold of some of SCPs to help them escape, some being ones that already exist or some that I thought up.
Camp Cretaceous Au:For this au, I will talk about each character separately, and will only mention stuff from the first two episodes.
Sora: She is 18 years old and one of the Camp Counselors at Camp Cretaceous.(Don’t worry, They had to take classes before this!) Her father got her and Tai the job. He works as a digsite researcher for Jurassic World. She and Tai were already friends before getting the job, and both taught children how to play soccer which is why her father thought they would be good for the job. Her mom didn’t think it was a good idea as she thought Sora could get her, and boy was she right! She and the other counselors will follow Roxie and Dave’s storyline where they try to find the kids. Things will go differently for them as they won’t end up on the boats like Roxie and Dave did.
Taichi: You already know that he only took the job because he had to make sure that Kari was safe. Most info for Taichi is already explained in Sora’s paragraph, but I do plan for him and Yamato to have several arguments throughout the storyline, though I plan for them to better get to know each other after they have to go search for the kids. For episode two, instead of two campers going to the Carnotaurus cage, I plan for Yamato and Taichi to go with Daisuke. Yeah, Sora wasn’t too happy about them endangering one of the campers, but hey, Daisuke had the time of his life and helped save Yamato.
Yamato: He is 18 like Taichi and Sora, which should have made working with him easier, but no. He decided to be difficult. He’s only here to make sure his brother is safe. (He had to beg a lot for his friend to get him the job.) He’s good with the kids at least. The kids also like to hear him play songs, which ends with Miyako always freaking out about how they have a famous rockstar as a counselor. He has issues getting the youngest kid to relax, but Sora seems to have got it covered.
Takeru: He is 15 and he got invited to come to Camp Cretaceous after winning a writing contest involving the Park. He met Hikari before any of the others as they arrived earlier with the Camp Counselors. He and Daisuke argue a bit, and sometimes Miyako will join in. The others usually don’t though Iori asked them to be quiet once, which led to Daisuke getting a bruise on the head, and all four parties involved apologising. Though now, they’ve all learned that Iori can kick their asses if he ever chose to. Takeru plans on writing a book about their times here with Hikari’s beautiful pictures to go along with it. Once they found out Iori drew, they dragged him into it too.
Hikari: She got invited to Camp Cretaceous after Ingen saw her photography blog. Her first day sadly didn’t lead to anything interesting, but she, Takeru, and Daisuke all snuck out to go see if she can get any cool photos of the velociraptors. They almost got killed if the counselors hadn’t shown up. The Counselors scolded them for a while, and Daisuke was barred from going to Wu’s lab, she and Takeru wouldn’t have been able to either, if their brothers weren’t their counselors. Poor Daisuke though. Atleast, she won’t have to deal with his flirting while they are at the lab.
Daisuke: Daisuke is 15 years old and his soccer team is sponsored by Ingen, and that led to him and the captain of the other soccer team sponsored by Ingen to be Invited to Camp Cretaceous. He was so happy to hear that he and Ken both got invited. After their teams got sponsored by ingen, they had to go against each other a lot. This led to a rivalry between them, and it sadly wasn’t a friendly one at first, but then Ken warmed up to him and they became quick friends. He and Ken get to play soccer with two of their counselors as they are also soccer players. Isn’t that the coolest! The other counselors and campers try to play too, sometimes. Hikari seems to know a bit about soccer from her brother, while Takeru and Iori have experience with sports, so they fared better than Miyako and Yagami. Once when Iori asked him to be quiet, he retaliated by calling him a pipsqueak and Iori threw a book at him, though he had already realized that it was uncalled for before the book was thrown.
Ken: He had never really been a fan of Ingen, his parents weren’t either, but he could never really remember why. He thinks it has something to do with Sam. So when he found out that ingen would be sponsoring his team, he was not pleased. He knew it would help his players though, so he allowed for the sponsorship. He found the captain of the other team rather annoying and overbearing, and chose to kick his ass in soccer. Though one day, he was accidentally injured by Daisuke, and Daisuke helped him get to the bench. They ended up talking some more, and became friends. When he and Davis were invited to the camp, he planned on declining, but Davis got him to agree. It took a lot of persuading for his parents to agree as well. The first day wasn’t that eventful for him, though he knew that was different for some of the others. Davis told him all about it when he woke up. Sadly, Davis wasn’t allowed to go with them to the lab, but they still had fun. One of the assistant doctors was very nice to them all, though he felt like he had seen the guy before. He couldn’t place where though.
Iori: He is the youngest of the Campers, at 13 years old, but he would say that he’s also one of the most mature out of the group. Especially since he didn’t try to get himself killed on the first night, unlike some of the other campers. He doesn’t understand why Miyako was jealous, sure they got to see velociraptors but they also almost died, yeah no thanks. Though, he’s pretty sure Miyako wasn’t as jealous once she found out Daisuke had to clean dino excrement. When he got to the lab, Miyako ran off, but he atleast got to talk to the nice doctor that was walking them around. He got to watch some ankylosaurus hatch, the doctor even let him hold and name one. He remembers the doctor mentioning it imprinted on him or something like that. Sad that he didn’t get to learn the doctor’s name.
Miyako: Miyako is 16 years old and she wasn’t even invited to the camp, but Cody wasn’t going to go unless she went, and Ingen was surprisingly easy to hack anyway. She was excited to see what Camp Cretaceous had to offer too! The first day was pretty boring, but then she found out that some campers snuck out without her! Though Daisuke ended up with a rather unfavorable job, instead of going to the lab, so that sucks for him. While she was there, she decided to snoop inside Dr.Wu’s office. She got caught though, and Dr.Wu forced them to leave. Cody was pretty unhappy with her afterwards, Hikari told her about what happened while she was snooping, and explained why he was upset. She and Cody talked though, and he wasn’t too mad anymore.
Jou: That assistant doctor that’s been mentioned, yeah that's him. He is 19 years old and he works for Dr.Wu. He thinks Dr.Wu is pretty pretentious. His parents and one of his brothers work for Ingen, too. When he’s not working at the lab, he is hanging out with his friends, Mimi and Izzy. He even got them access to check out the lab. While they were doing that, he was assisting in giving some kids a tour. They were all very nice, and the youngest one seemed to really like the baby ankylosauruses, one even imprinted on him. Jou decided to let the kid name that one. Sadly, the kids had to leave after one of them was caught in Dr.Wu’s lab. This meant his friends had to leave too.
Mimi: She is a famous 17 year old vlogger and singer. She wanted to get some good videos on the park, and it was a perfect excuse to see Jou! She dragged Izzy along for the ride too! They spent their first week there just checking things out and making silly videos, but for the second week they decided to do a deep dive, starting with the lab. They just looked around the lab in the beginning, but then they got bored and decided to check Wu’s office. They found out about some weird dinosaur before they heard someone coming and left the room.(It was only Miyako though,) What they found seemed to upset Izzy though, she doesn’t know why though.
Koushiro: He is a famous programmer that sometimes joins Mimi in her videos. He lost his parents in an accident involving the construction of Jurassic World, and he plans to find out more about what happened that day. He goes to the park with Mimi, using the excuse that he also wanted to see Jou. When Jou invited them to the lab, he knew that it would be the best chance of finding out more information. What he found was somehow worse though. Did they really think this dinosaur would be better than the last one they made? He needed to know if Jou knew about this, but he couldn’t do that if Mimi was with him. Maybe he could ask his friend Tai if he could get him in, since he’s working at the camp for the summer. (Sadly, he doesn’t get the chance though.)
God, that was so many words. If you have anything else to ask, feel free to!

What are some characters you wished interacted more in Adventure/02? I always wanted to see more Joe/taichi (because wow they both have some shit regarding responsibility) and sora/koushiro! Also in 02 I wanted more sibling moments between the Yagami and Ishida/Takeshi siblings :’)
Immediately Sora/Kou and Joe/Taichi jumped into my head before I even finished reading so like same
Your icon is super cute btw!!
Sorry if all of this is a mess apparently if you give me a platform I just spout nonsense about digimon for days lmaoo
TL;DR: Sora/Kou, Joe/Taichi, Mimi/Yamato, the siblings but with maybe some closure to the Yagamis on some level if that makes sense at all
I feel like Sora and Koushirou were the two characters who believed in Taichi the most and really stuck by him, and supposedly knew each other before the digital world, but it’s honestly hard to recall any scenes where they acted incredibly close to each other? I know she defended him when Taichi was teasing Koushirou and trying to whack his computer and they also shared their opinions on Taichi during the Skullgreymon issue. There might be some scenes, but I’m honestly blanking. Yet I can think of specific examples for Taichi and Koushirou and Taichi and Sora off the top of my head (the gate episode for the former and Taichi saving Sora from nanomon). So maybe the series didn’t mean for them to be very close friends (I think there’s a chart and they aren’t shown with arrows between each other), but I always felt like they would mesh well together even if their main reason was just to bond over Taichi. But I think Sora has shown and would be open to just listening to Koushirou and encouraging him and I think Sora is mellow enough for Koushirou to be comfortable around. I actually kind of wish Sora and Koushirou had gone together in Adventure to look for Taichi because it seemed important to both of them, though I get narratively why they wanted everyone to split up. I kind of wish there was just more Sora, Taichi, and Koushirou being tight-knit overall and something more of an overt trio, since again they were the one’s who already knew each other more closely iirc.
I agree on the Joe and Taichi bit, too. I think there could have maybe been a few more instances where Taichi, well, relied on him and the two kind of commiserated about everything. Joe clearly had a lot of worry for the team and was willing to like risk his own life for Takeru and stay beside Mimi a few times because as her counselor he felt responsible and Taichi had a lot of baggage trying to do right by everyone all the time and wanting to be The Very Best and it felt like sometimes he could kind of feel the heaviness of it especially when Hikari came in; it just felt like they should have a late night therapy session together and there could have been some times when Taichi turned to Joe for some advice. If there was more than once I don’t really remember it right now? I know Taichi had a support pillar in Koushirou and Sora and Yamato at some point, but I honestly think it would have been nice to sprinkle in more of Joe there, and maybe have Joe even gain more confidence in his role in the team to just put his hand on Taichi’s shoulders and say, “Take a break,” but instead it always felt like he micro helped, which I guess was big, but idk Taichi should have his mom bake Joe a cake just to say he’s swell. But I also think it would be nice if Taichi could be a pillar back in kind. I don’t really remember if anyone was specifically there to support Joe back when I think about it except maybe Sora when she helped at the diner arc?? I also think this would have been nicer to explore in 02 and have Joe help herd some of the new youngsters more, but it kind of felt like by Our War Game Joe was a little more… not around? Was always kind of weird to me that the “reliable” one was never around. I know his crest in some iterations is honesty or sincerity, so maybe that’s why haha, but he did always come off as trying to be reliable, so I always fall back on that.
Also Mimi and Yamato would have been interesting to see…. interact at all?? I think in the novels he makes her cry at one point iirc and there was the scene at the graves of the fallen digimon, but I can’t recall any other impactful scenes where they straight on interact?? I feel like the scene where Sora breaks down and Yamato is pretty understanding could have also translated into some scenes with Mimi, like he could go from being annoyed by her and agitated to accepting her strengths and maybe through her find that being more emotional isn’t always a weakness, idk. I also remember Yamato once grilled a fish and so I always thought he’d end up being the cook of the group down the line so when it was Mimi in the epilogue I would kind of imagine her having him on her show for a segment, like cooking in rough conditions or something and talk about the food he eats in space idk it was a weird thing that stuck with me as a kid and it’s hard to kind of forget…
Overall with 02 I really wish there was just more of the original cast and they expanded their relationships from 01. Maybe not get rid of the new 02 cast members because I do really love them, but just integrate the original digidestined in more. I get that it’s hard to balance a large cast, though, so I get why they didn’t. I really feel like Sora, Joe, and Mimi just got forgotten about in the full narrative, though. I also would have still liked more relationship building between like the siblings as you said as well. Family was a pretty integral part of the original series in many ways and while they did seem to kind of bring it back in the ending iirc, there was a HUGE emphasis on the sibling dynamics in 01 I felt was kind of dropped by 02. Like it was even written in a prophecy?? I will admit my memory of 02 is fuzzy and due for a rewatch but I recall Hikari getting something of a developing episode re: her attachment to Taichi or some comparison she was making towards him about herself that I don’t remember, but I’m pretty sure he like… had no part in it really? I think even the dub just was like, “Let’s not even write in that issue.” I could be wrong on that, though. It just felt like Taichi was more distant than he had been at the end of 01 and maybe that’s just age and he grew up, but I still feel like it needed a resolution and he could have either had residual fears or at least have a “letting go” episode maybe so they could both grow together or something for the audience to bare. I felt like if anything Taichi and Hikari’s arc should have ended with him trusting her more and I guess he kind of does since he leaves the fighting to the new kids on the block but it was more like… he gave the responsibility to Daisuke (not a bad choice, this is nothing about Daisuke ofc). It just would have been more full circle imho if he maybe gave Hikari the goggles or something— like she didn’t have to be the leader I guess but it would have been kind of symbolic of him seeing her as strong finally and acknowledging her, you know? That’s probably a different road entirely haha Hikari and Taichi just had a really sweet bond in 01 so I remember it being a little jarring when I watched 02. I can’t remember much about Takeru and Yamato together either so :(
I think they balanced a lot of relationships and backstories and a huge complicated plot pretty well in general just overall and they made the characters so goood but I guess that’s on my essay on some of the things I would change re: their relationships i’msosorry

Meanwhile with DigiAdvs 02's Daisuke+Co. & KouTai [and some O.C.s]
Taichi: Maybe we should continue this tomorrow... Koushiro: That's right, we have some leads, but it will take a little more research... Taichi: (I'm concerned about Koushiro overworking self again.) Koushiro: (I know a little better now, but I do have to research this.) Ken: (*leading Daisuke near the door*) Excuse us for a moment. (*Takes Daisuke out of Koushiro's office*) Daisuke. What Has Been Happening. DAISUKE: (*SWEATING*) Listen Ken I'll tell you everything as soon as we can--- KEN: Tell me everything. I may be able to research into their past to find out "what happened" too, but I'll need a better lead. (It'll also help take some of the pressure off Izumi.) KEN: (And it looks like I need to keep a closer eye on Daisuke now.) Shane: (I'm already watching out for Daisuke, but this is really out of all of your leagues.) Ken: ... Wormmon said earlier Wormmon could "feel" something "near" you. Tailmon kept looking intently in the direction too. DAISUKE+SHANE: KEN: I'd like to speak with this person. DAISUKE, Leading Ken bit further away from the door: (It's not that you can't try, but they're difficult!!) KEN: (*I* was "difficult" too.) DAISUKE: Ken, once in room next door: Please show yourself. SHANE: (*remaining Digital*) (If I don't want to talk I won't. Especially not with this person.) Daisuke: ... (They're not showing.) KEN: I see. Ken: But, since you are "attached to" *my* Queer-platonic Life partner, this might prove to be "inconveniencing". DAISUKE + SHANE: KEN: If you believe I'm letting Daisuke out of my sight from now on, you're mistaken. DAISUKE: KEN--- SHANE: ... Shane, Digitally Materializing, Looking at Daisuke: It's not like I'm *directly* involved in the things happening to Daisuke. Shane: (You KNOW This.) Daisuke: (I KNOW But Ken Is LIKE THI---) Ken: You are truly (Still?) a Chosen, aren't you? SHANE: ... SHANE: If I said I wasn't? (Was??) Daisuke: Ken, I already talked with them. Shane doesn't even want to Jogress--- Ken, Looking at Daisuke: ... Ken: Daisuke might be (mostly) unbothered, but now that we know, I'm involved. Shane: I have nothing against you either. Ken: Then answer my questions. Shane: Fine. What. Ken: You were tied to "that place" but now you're "here". With Daisuke, *IN* *Odaiba*. Why? Shane: Your guess is as good as mine. I was pulled back out of the Digital void when *Daisuke* tried opening the gate. (So.) Ken, LOOKING At Daisuke: DAISUKE: (I DIDN'T KNOW!!!) Shane: Anyway, I mostly stay "behind" only *watching* as it is, since I can't *do* muc--- SHANE, Physically wobbling in: (WAIT---) DAISUKE, reaches with free arm to steady: SHANE LOOKING AT KEN: (If *YOU* keep hanging around, *you'll* get dragged into all this TOO, *AGAIN*, Probably-) Shane, grunting in Daisuke's general direction: *Give me a minute*, I'm--- (*wobbles, GLITCHES*) KEN, Looking at Daisuke: (This is BAD.) Ken: (If this keeps up, *they'll*---) DAISUKE: (I KNOW BUT????) SHANE, Steadied: I'm ok. (*breathes out*) Yeah, I'm ok. (*glitching back out but still visible*) Shane, to Ken, VerY very Tired: (It's not like I *want* to be here trailing Daisuke, OK?) KEN: (If you think I'm just going to leave this ALONE---) DAISUKE: (YOU TWO)--- Shane: ... (Turns back to Stare at the Wall for a while) (I prefer staying quiet anyway.) Ken: I have more questions. Shane: I'll only answer what I actually *know*. Daisuke: (What IS This.) Daisuke, to Ken: (...Hey, I appreciate it, but Later, maybe, then...) Ken: ... Shane: (I'll Just Stay Over Here.) Ken: (You still have to answer my questions!) Shane: (Maybe I SHOULD have stayed in the Void---)
