The year after 02, in 2003, Steve & Frigimon encounter Daisuke again: Daisuke: Oh, hey! Steve: Hey. It's nice to see you again after the last time... Daisuke: Yeah, that was something, wasn't it? Steve: (Well, I wasn't really there for "that") Steve: The remainder of that night was a quite nice dinner at the local restauraunt, so it was all thanks to you. Daisuke: (Oh!) Daisuke: Hey, no problem! We're glad to help!! Steve: (Chanukah was at the beginning of the month that year, so...) Steve: This year, it might be a little different. Steve: Anyway, we're planning to grab food on the 25th again, want to join us? It'll be the 6th day of Chanukah for me but-- DAISUKE: (!!!) Steve: (I'll take that as a 'YES')

Ni’s shippy chart for 02 group (+ Wallace the lone traveler)

So for a while i was really really debating making a post about how i see the ships i like and honestly i was too afraid of posting anything about this with the biggest fear of people’s reactions to my own headcanons and preferences.

However, i can’t agree 100% with everyone and no one can’t agree 100% with me.

This post is about my personal preferences and how i see them. Please if you don’t like any of those interpretations... I’m sorry. You’re free to disagree with me as you please. There might exist something else we both agree with though...

So, this chart was made... last year to illustrate to my friends how i ship those characters. You will notice someone is not present and it’s because... Yeah, Iori’s too young for this. And some ships are not totally present here (which i call by “lowkey shipping”), so the ones here are the ones i definitely high key ship.

But the arrows direction you can get the idea of what i see in each of those ships. Again, just high key stuff, the low key ones are omitted but will be mentioned in this post.

Daisuke - As much i’m vocal about shipping him with all of those, i do think he’s too oblivious to a bunch of any other people he has a crush on. So the ones i high key ship are Daisuke→ Hikari and Daisuke → Miyako. Note the “?” on Dai-Miya arrow, which it’s what i just said: the feeling he’s too oblivious about those feelings to the point he isn’t that sure about it.

Low key ship views: Daisuke→ Ken (I think Daisuke would a long time later, but not in 02 era, to have feelings for Ken); Daisuke → Wallace (In the same sense as the previous one)

Ken - I definitely cannot ignore Ken → Daisuke in the span of 02, but he was too young for this, and I really like to think through 02 to Kizuna he simply tried his best to the point he also discovered his interests on Miyako (yes, i HC he’s bi/demi). In which Miyako is ALSO that oblivious but somehow they managed to get into a relationship. Now, who started it or not it’s according to my mood, but I prefer pretty much the Ken → Miyako direction thanks to a few friends and artists 🤣

Low key ship views: Ken → Hikari (old favorite by the simply fact i like “Darkness x Light” pairs. No, i do not ship the Frontier twins romantically) ; Ken → Takeru (I love the romantic tension between them, like the ol cliche “enemies to friends to lovers” hehe) ; Ken → Wallace (?? YEAH KINDA OF... I just want them to meet someday in some material, GDI!)

Miyako - She’s just like Daisuke in this category. She has been gushing on how hot and cute people are that it’s funny she married Ken who was one of those people she was gushing about and calling hot and cute. I really think it’s pretty clear that she likes both boys and girls (lol, Mimi is her other crush, but not present in this chart) -- so then, Miyako possibly has low key crushes on other people but being completely not sure if they’re strong or just... well, her claiming this person is hot or cute.

Low key ship views: Miyako → Daisuke (not pictured, but i think she had a crush on him somewhere between 02 and Kizuna) ; Miyako → Hikari (again, something she’s not much sure about, but might be there...)

Takeru - Ok, this one is funny. The lack of Take-Hika is because... I’m one of those people who definitely see nothing romantic or romantic tension between them*. Sorry, it’s just how i see it. However, i do see a lot of ^_^ faces at Daisuke and Ken. While Takeru does not do any of those faces at the girls... Because his mom raised him to drink respect women juice. So then i totally see the romantic appeal from Takeru → Daisuke direction.

Low key ship views: Takeru → Ken (explained previously) ; Takeru → Wallace (something something they would be great as a couple imo...)

Hikari - Just like i said, i don’t feel like Hikari likes Takeru romantically* (and again, this is a ME problem) so my only interest in a romantic ship with her is... Well, Hikari → Miyako, but note the “?” there: Hikari is not sure about it at all, because i think she’s pretty much AroAce. I think she could discover something after 02 and before Kizuna. Who knows, i think this is the only way i can see it...

Low key ship views: Hikari → Daisuke (by the sheer idea of her and Takeru secretly fighting for his soft-and-tsun heart) ; Hikari → Ken (already explained previously)

Wallace - This is a wild card. I know he flirts with girls as possible coping mechanism, but i don’t think he really really has romantic interest on them. However he would enjoy so much provoking Daisuke by calling Miyako, Hikari and Mimi pretty and cute hehe~~ So yeah, i do think the Wallace → Daisuke direction has a cool potential so i ship it this way.

Low key ship views: Wallace → Ken (already explained too) ; Wallace → Takeru (same here)

* = I’m sorry to be a bit blunt, but ▽ gave me more headaches than joy, so i can’t really... consider it as proof for Takeru → Hikari or Hikari → Takeru 😩 The same series misreads Hikari as brocon and i... i hope i don’t have to explain why... orz

But like i said, i’m totes fine with disagreement on any of those.
