You can absolutely know that I was soooooo incredibly breathless!!!! That was absolutely a needed ending! And to be honest, I wasn't expecting that. I wasn't expecting they would put it there this clear. I thought the chat with ash was the little part for episode 1 and then they pulled this out and I absolutely freaked out completely.

I was absolutely stunned and I run around like a maniac because I couldn't believe it and I was soooo thrilled and wahhhhhhh.

Besides, I saw more Everbyte in this part. Not because of him, not because of the style we're used to due to duskwood. Because it was made with so much creativity and so smart.

Your Leraje design is so beautiful!!!! I loved Ammeh's story so much and your design brought it to live marvellously!!! It felt like you guys made her a completely new and original character instead of a copy of Byleth or Dimitri.

Oh, dear anon! let me smooch you =3= Thank you!! Hope you had left a good comment on Ammeh's work, because It's beautiful 💕. I mean, it's not a duty, but it's always appreciated by authors 🫶 Now, for brainworms I can't really say much because she's mainly under @ammeh7 's conception. I only translated her in visual language👉👈. If you ask me about those visual aspects I can expand🫰. For example, Given Byleth's and Jeralth's raw haircut, you could imagine Leraye should have look like a wild kid on the streets, however, Alois have been with them, and who knows where his spouse and daughter are during that time. I just imagine they could have go to them and get the extra help needed for those stuffs. But of course, it's not really something on me to say. Perhaps They went to someone else for a fresh haircut who knows (tbh, i went with the 2 idea that came to my mind, If I were serious I should've explored different hairstyles and such). Besides, I did Leraye's hair thinking about a mix of both, Dimitri and his princely straight hair, and Byleth's fluffy and wavy hair (I draw her fluffy bc Look at Sitri's). So since she has those royal genes, that hair must be something manageable ✨ I could expand on her clothes too. Since Jeralt and Byleth's clothes have similar patterns, I imagine Jeralt must know some tailor he can commission. In addition, since he already has experience in that matter, he can tutor Byleth on the topic of "Wearing big clothes because kids grow like weed." So some type of garment that can be adjusted over time comes in quite handy, since they can't carry a lot of things. Not to mention the footwear because it is also changed every so often. So sometimes you have to be creative xD I also could think of motherhood suits Byleth so nicely, since being a teacher made her grow, now that she doesn't have that in Hopes, she can take this chance to learn and develop herself a bit. And there's Sothis too. Perhaps Sothis wakes up early and she is fond on the little kid so she is less condescending than what was portrayed as in this game C:

Btw I looooooove the idea of Leraye could have a preference for bows 🥺. I like to think Byleth learned bows because for kids, it's convenient to just hide than fighting in close range (It totally doesn't have to do with the fact That I almost always made my Byleth a Falcon knight with bows bc brrrrrrr). Bow knight Leraye would be Awesome!! 🙌💓 (I am concerned about her strength though 😅)

Art stores! Okay that may be a bit cliche for an artist but just going into any art store and walking through all the displays fills me with so much creative spark like "Ooh, I could use this or that to create something!" Of course that doesn't end well with my wallet hehe xD; I often joke that when stressed I need to go out and touch paper in the art stores lol Need instant pick me up? Just go to an art store! Curious what ideal date will be for me? Bring me to an art store. The answer is always - the art store.

Music, sketchbook, solitude Okay this feels like 3 things but it is the combination of them that does the magic! I need alone time to unwind and be with myself and my art - not online or available and if I don't get enough of that I get super cranky. Lately I just close every messenger possible, mute my phone, or right out turn the internet off, cause at this day and age it's nearly impossible to have a moment of peace regardless of what status you put.

The Sea! I'm fortunate to live by the sea and I love it so much. I love staring at it, I love swimming, I love water, I love sea shells, I love pirates, I love sea adventure stories - anything and all sea related sparks joy! Probably good place to mention that I get easily sea sick xD;; which absolutely does not spark joy!

Walking home from work at dusk Okay this is also super specific xD; I love walking and I'm fortunate that my city is fairly green. I love zoning out during my walk to work and back. On mornings I get this refreshing movement, some good podcast but it's on my way back that does the magic to me. I love the air at dusk, everyone closing stores and heading home, the sun has bathed everything in golden hues, the farmers markets smell of any and all foods as everyone is preparing to close for the day - everyone is going home and I too am going home. Timeline wise "so build me a cottage of sunlight and stone" takes place right after "and played like a record on endless repeat", which if you remember ends with a conversation between Dream and XD about escalating Dream's villainy to the next level. Up until this point Dream has been mostly small-scale, harassing farmers and burning down buildings and committing petty thievery. And bothering Technoblade. (mostly bothering Technoblade). Now, though, he's stepping it up, because that's the only way to keep and hold Techno's attention, which Dream desperately needs to do. You're going to get more information on the nature of Dream's bet and why he needs to win it in the next chapter or two of "to a familiar tune we resist"! I'm so so so excited to post that next chapter. I just have to finish writing it.

Just to make it a bit easier if it was hard to follow - timeline is that when Techno was eight, the Blood God possessed him and used him to go on a killing spree and kill like, a whole third of the world. Dream met Technoblade shortly before he was fully possessed, when he was dying in the Creative God's garden (read: graveyard) and Dream saved him. (these are the events of "to a familiar tune we resist"). The Blood God was stopped from continuing the spree by ~interferences yet unknown~ and now, over a decade later, Dream and Technoblade meet again, this time as villain and hero. (these are the events of the first three fics in the series, "all my foundations are laid next to yours", "in part, in whole, in pieces", "and played like a record on endless repeat"). At the point of "so build me a cottage of sunlight and stone" in the timeline, I believe Dream and Technoblade have been facing off for about a year or so? I'm not looking at any of my reference materials at the moment, so I might be wrong, but that's what I remember off the top of my head. Things are going to continue to escalate after this for about another year or so, before the fic and scene that's I've had written for nearly three years occurs. I'm so excited to publish that, when it finally happens. If you have any more "kill me softer" questions, let me at 'em! I'd love to answer them.

Okay no, for real xD As much as I do love that AU, that’s not my answer xD I am a big fan of AUs in general & am pretty much willing to read any regardless of whether or not I’m familiar with any source material OR if it’s not a genre I enjoy. (Bc it’s fanfic & my fave/one of my fave pairings so like. It’s always a genre I enjoy!)

One of my favorite AUs I’ve read tho is this one, which isn’t shippy, altho the writer does write Jaytim. It’s just… a really creative alternate origin for Tim & I love it. (Also! Gender-fluid/trans!Tim!)

Robin, Flamebird, & Sparrow - Moxibustion — Batman and Robin get injured a lot in the field. It's a fact, they can't deny it. Somehow this lead to them gaining their very own paramedic.... whether they want one or not. It's fine, sort of? Now if only they could get their erstwhile paramedic to stop getting hurt...

17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?

Highly specific AU? One based off of the Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. Basic premise? Necromancers are extremely powerful, but due to the way their powers feed off of life, they’re also very sickly looking and physically weak. They are paired up with cavaliers from a young age, who swear vows to protect them from harm (vows which include the phrase, “One flesh, one end”) & serve their needs. The original plot is also enemies to lovers, so like??? Yes.

Anyway, my thought is that Jason ends up as Tim’s cavalier, unwillingly, but as they grow closer, they become fonder of each other.

IDK if I would want to include the Lyctorhood plot (which, what Lyctorhood ultimately is does count as a spoiler for the first book? So I won’t explain it here just in case!) but. I do think the dynamics there would be fun~

Much like that other anon, I can also see not-great parts of myself in JC (and YZY for that matter), and they're big flashing warning signs of: HEY MAKE SURE YOU KEEP WORKING ON YOURSELF SO YOU DON'T END UP BEING LIKE THEM (and maybe it's tooting my own horn, but I feel like seeing those horrible parts in myself makes it easy to write *canon* JC :p). But despite that, I also liked JC because I enjoy villains, redemption arcs, messy sibling relationships, and messy sibling reconciliation post-redemption...Except most of the fandom doesn't even see JC as someone as anywhere close to villainous, or someone needing a redemption arc, or needing at least a good fucking dose of self-reflection to reach a place to reconcile with his brother.

And I have to wonder if it’s other messy sibling relationships (Thor & Loki, Zuko & Azula, Gamora & Nebula, etc) that have so warped the fandom perception. Because JC and WWX don’t fit the pattern of the other sibling pairs, since JC is “hey what if we combined the *worst* parts of Thor *and* Loki or Zuko *and* Azula,” or etc. He has privilege and insecurity, pride and cruelty, anger and impulsiveness without a heart of kindness. He doesn’t have prodigious strength and skill, but neither does he have prodigious intelligence or creativity. He is not the outcast from society, but neither does he find a group of friends/found family/family. Maybe both JC and WWX get so warped as fans try to mash them into at least one of those other classic sibling patterns, even though JC is just painfully average in many regards (whereas WWX has so far above average in so many categories XD).

So JC just turns into...the always-perfect Gary Stu, the Jiujiu Knows Best who has to tell his poor, emotionally- and politically-inept brother what's what to make sure that idiot takes care of himself. Or whatever.

Anyway, I’d like to thank the fandom from turning JC in all his horribleness from one my favourite characters to someone I can’t *stand* anymore, and turning me off from pretty much every sibling reconciliation fic even though that used to be one of my favourite fic genres -_-

I do. I have plenty of good memories, I also have some people from the fandom that are still around and I have little chats with at times (mostly casual short banters), and the franchise's characters, story and lore still mean something to me. A huge chunk of it is defo nostalgia. Though other than the figurines and plushies I have on my desk, I haven’t watched or looked at anything related to the franchise; I am just not that fussed about it anymore. I might give S4 a shot, to see how the story will end but again, not too fussed.

I just do what I want to do nowadays and it is liberating. Yeah sure, it’s bony bone boys, SFW and R-18 stuff, and many AUs based on a game but the creativity I get to pour out without any limits makes me very happy. Hmm...i think it varies honestly. It's just about being comfortable. Dipping into the "dark side" (ha, my star-wars dad humor is so amazing) is a bit risky for any fandom. But Dinluke is 7-8 months old with only 1,150 works in it (in comparison to the OTP i just left, Stony, that has nearly 41,500 works). Something edgy and dark can stand out. Dinluke is also, as canon-speaking as possible, a super fluffy and soft ship so adding in something rather dark can feel risky or uncomfortable, even if the reviewers are typically kind and are not looking to just leave flames on a fic that goes over something they don't care for; but I do think some fear that can happen. There as also some "issues" on people showcasing they dislike the idea of Dark!Din and I think that may have freaked some people out (cause I mostly only see/saw Dark!Luke--which isn't my thing I enjoy).

But, honestly, I think some people want to keep their softer stuff separate. So maybe a compartmentalization thing. I think quite a few people who do it already have an audience and don't want them to be isolated or chased off by adding something so new. I also think a lot may have readers they know and don't want a conversation on it lol

I'm over 30. I've been in fan fiction since I was like 13. I've been dabbling and full-blow writing dark and possessive themed stories for years. I'm just a bit more comfortable with it after 20-years of doing it. and though I have people who follow me who know me LITERALLY (like BFF and my cousin) on Tumblr...i only feel mild embarrassment and shame cause 1) i know they have their own stuff, 2) we all are deep into fandoms and know the laws of "hey, let's not talk about it in real life unless we both want to" and

3) i am a dead tired Millenial who just doesn't care XD I have a job I hate (now leaving! but still not starting a career) trying to finish a degree, handling some heavy anxiety and depression and insecurities, that worrying too much over a fic is just...not possible?

I mean I do worry. I fret and think people are going to hate it all the time. But I just tell myself it's fine if people don't like it. It's ok if I get flamed. It's a fan fiction. I am writing ti for myself with the hopes others will enjoy and feel inspired to write something similar. My energy is going to worrying and hating my job rather than my Dark!Din content.

ALSO, I "protect" myself and others and over-tag. I put tags and warnings in front of every chapter. I will make sure everyone who reads knows what they are getting into. as rude as it may sound, it is not my fault if someone gets on, say, Little Bird, and hates it's dark content and tells me so, when I mention how dark it is and give all the warnings I can think of before the start of each new edition. If someone does that, it feels like they are looking to say something rather mean rather than anything else.

Censorship and exploring different aspects of creative writing in fan fiction can still be a tight-rope of a topic and debate.

I just leave myself open for critiques ("hey, you didn't mention this trigger--could you please warn us next time?" types) and just realize in all of this to just smile, thank the person for their time, and move on from feeling bad about it. It's about learning how to make it better the next time and ensuring people who truly wish to avoid it can do so.

I'm so hype about the overwatch deathlock rebels, finally my gurl Ashe gets a more clear background story but I sad at the same time because it seems like many hate ashe for unreasonable causes. They hate Ashe just because she gets in the way of a their ship. These are the same people who said they're not in the overwatch fandom because of ships, but throws rock just because McAshe is hinted to crush/smth. Btw I'm a McGenji shipper but I do like McAshe stuffs too and I see its potential as canon

I've been so out of things lately because I'm still REELING from that book, I swear I have never known a feeling quite like this one? xD I was afraid the book might end up validating a lot of toxic ideas people had about Ashe, but instead I feel it completely outruled them and showed that, whether people like it or not, she and McCree had a pretty good relationship (whether you wanna see it as romantic or not) back in the day. The minute these two were face to face in Reunion my shipper senses just went BONKERS, and I already thought that Reunion was all they'd ever give us, canon-wise... but nope, they just went all out with this book and now there's so much more context to so many little things in Reunion too *sobs* I am completely overtaken by these cowboy renegades, my head's cowboy brainrot 24/7 since June 1st xD

But yep, people are really unbearable with their mindless Ashe hate. I keep thinking that, if she were a guy, everyone trashing her would jump at the opportunity to ship her with just every possible male character they could find, not only McCree. I don't even know, honestly, just how difficult can it be to ship what you ship without turning any characters into boogeymen because "they get in the way of the ship"? It's a childish, dumbass thing I've seen in fandoms since I was a kid and I can't believe I'm still seeing it happen in this godforsaken year of 2021. Ashe and McCree are absolutely at odds in the latest events in Overwatch's timeline: I love the idea of them slowly regaining their trust in each other while working together to stop Null Sector, Talon or whatever they'll be fighting in OW2. But anyone who DOESN'T ship them? They can easily imagine whatever else they want to imagine for their future and move on just fine. McAshe absolutely can be seen as a past relationship, or even as a past friendship with unresolved feelings, when making content for any other ship with McCree or Ashe, if they even feel the need to acknowledge it altogether. It's not even challenging to do this.

Heck, as someone who has spent ages creating content for a ship that, however much traction it has gained lately, isn't likely to become canon, where one half of the ship has been in a canon, confirmed, actual relationship since the show ended (even if it's still not confirmed as his endgame relationship), this hissy fit by the Ashe haters, mainly from the-ship-that's-better-off-not-named, is beyond ridiculous. I've written stories where a canon relationship ends, giving way to my OTP, WITHOUT trashing the other character in the canon relationship, and without turning her into a monster just to justify my ship's existence. If I can do that without a hitch, I don't see how they can't? It makes no sense to me, honestly.

There's also an apparent uproar because McCree and Ashe are "het" now? There's no canon confirmed sexuality for either of them to this moment, no matter if there were definite sparks flying in Deadlock Rebels, just as there was no confirmed sexuality before the book. A lot of people think of McCree as bi, and that headcanon wasn't killed somehow by the contents of this book, was it? Heck, I'm even thinking of games like Dragon Age, where straight characters have deliberately been written to reject advances from any same-sex MCs, and players have made mods to romance them with same-sex MCs anyway because they don't give a flying fuck about canon sexuality if it's straight. In my experience? That's how fandom always works. Typically, it's when characters are confirmed gay that anyone who shipped them in straight relationships have to back off, since it's highly frowned upon to alter the sexuality of any gay characters. But even if a character has nothing but opposite-sex love interests in canon, the fandom always does whatever it wants. Why the heck is it different here, to the point of spewing that much vitriol at Ashe just because she exists and McCree is/was into her?

Oof, I just say live and let die, man. Frankly, I am living the dream with this book, I've loved every new tidbit of lore it offered, especially those recontextualized hints of Reunion content (hell, even the "plothole" with the Est. 1976 in the Deadlock logo was addressed, it's amazing xD). Apparently, McAshe shippers aren't entitled to "canon status" thanks to the cinematic, or through all the history these two characters share, history that's been expanded through this book... I find that fair and valid, but just so, no other ship is entitled to demand for canon status, not in this franchise, not in anything else, as far as I'm concerned. Blizzard has made a bunch of bad choices in the last years, there's no denying that, but as far as I can tell, caving in to what a certain cluster of fans demand just because their ship is "popular" has NEVER resulted in anything good. If anything, every time I've seen big media give in to whatever their loudest fans want, the quality of their content tends to spiral downwards at ridiculously rapid speed, because that isn't what their creative vision used to be, and it's not an organic choice but a forced one, done just to sell more (and typically, they don't achieve that goal at all). Could list a few examples of that, but I'd be here all day, I suspect x'D
