affinity photo has like a really high concept process for removing backgrounds and such in the selection brush and selection refinement stuff, but I feel like in 90% of cases I would be better off just roughing it with the polygonal lasso or masking to a vector or something instead of trying to wrestle with the damn things

the upshot is that once you get the good part of the image separated out, the process for everything else is really slick. like as someone who likes adding a lot of filters to things, the fact that most of them work without permanently altering the original image or each other is super handy. saves a lot of repeat steps.

Though I will say, the reason we get Quackity's reasons or at least can reasonably extrapolate his reasons is because we get his pov.
