James Vega wasn't sure how he'd wound up wearing a suit.

Well, alright, he did, obviously, but the speed with which he'd gone from ordering pizza in Sunshine's apartment to ordering a skycar to take himself, Tali, Ashley, and Brooks to some fundraising event on the Strip had left his head spinning. 

"Commander really doesn't like dressing up, huh?" he asked, glancing sidelong at his companions. He didn't really know Tali'Zorah, definitely didn't know Brooks, but he was at least familiar enough with Commander Ashley Williams's record and reputation to find some common ground. She was taking point on this mission while Sunshine, Kaidan, and Liara worked their techie magic, with Tali as their go-between. 

Ashley snorted, a smile twitching at the corners of her lips as she finished pinning her braided hair back out of her face. Some hair remained loose, falling gently about her face to soften the practical updo and take it from 'obviously on an op' to something more akin to date night. 

Not that this is a date. James pulled his gaze away, focusing his attention on the live feed from the optics that passed for windows in this model of skycar. Obviously. It was a super-important mission to figure out who was trying to kill Sunshine -- aside from all the usual people trying to kill Sunshine, anyway.

"Everett is a firm believer in comfort over style," Ashley replied, and it wasn't hard to pick up on the affection in her tone. "Always has been."
