i havent even thought about what starter im going to choose omg... i don't think i have any preferences towards type, i usually just end up liking pkmn based on vibe and aesthetics LMAO, and I've never played any game except for platinum (and I haven't even finished my first playthrough of it....) so i have zero experience in choosing starters,,,, THIS IS EXCITING

bloomburrow might have the title for the strongest complete set of face commanders on average for any commander product. all four of these guys just have absurd lines of text on them.

Bello working off of both enchantments and artifacts is incredibly open-ended, and making each of them 4/4s with indestructable is by far the silliest part. the card gives you a lot of leeway. you can use both artifacts and enchantments for the best of both; they all are given haste, so you don't have to set up before you pop off; they all are given indestructible, so you're never punished for swinging board; they are each given an individual card draw instance, so you have plenty of cards to work with. bello is in my opinion the strongest of the bunch because he's so much more honest than the other three and still does all that!

Hazel is one of my favorite magic characters ever. god i love her. she's the face of my new golgari storm deck i'm excited to showcase at my table tonight :) in my opinion Hazel is so strong because she just does so much! mana? big check. she'll make all the mana you need as long as her and her army stick on the field. plus, she makes the army herself with the populate effect every end step! Hazel is technically the most restrictive of the four, requiring a tap to make mana and an end step to make tokens. however, Hazel's effects are so strong she doesnt care. Hazel is, in my opinion, the most versatile commander of the four. want a simple tokens deck packed with overrun effects? check, hazel makes two squirrels for each of your end steps and black and green are packed with solid big-board effects! want a value-pile populate deck? check, hazel can make a copy of any token every end step, and support the deck with her mana ability! want an aristocrats pile built around strong sacrificers? check, that's golgari's whole deal, and hazel turns the sac fodder thralls into mana and then makes more of them! want a combo-heavy spellslinger storm deck? check, Hazel has you covered in the mana department even if you run only 11 or so token making effects, allowing you to stack your deck with card draw to storm off! she can do a lot of things if you just build her in the right way, and she's definitely my favorite golgari commander of all time :3

Ms. Bumbleflower has. i mean. cmon. "Whenever you cast a spell, target opponent draws a card, then put a +1/+1 counter on target creature"? she is one of the best combo deck face commanders ever. any storm count spell loop can be implemented and if she's out she has the potential to make infinite value with the vast array of scurry oak effects, and even without them she will deck out your opponents unless they draw into a counterspell or removal piece. in this way i almost think ms. bumbleflower is too weak for cedh tables (who are running so many free counterspells and removal spells) but too strong at any other table; she's in a bit of a weird spot. still, ms. B could easily be a contender at a cedh table with how light of a touch she needs to pop off. i havent really explored ms. bumbleflower combo routes at all, but MH3's Evolution Witness comes to mind immediately: "Whenever one or more +1/+1 counters are put on Evolution Witness, return target permanent card from your graveyard to your hand." i'm almost sure theres a relevant permanent card that can be inserted in between those two girlies to deck out every opponent :P

finally, Zinnia. did you know that Hazel of the Rootbloom isn't even the strongest token-based face general in bloomburrow commander? this is because while hazel can make copies of any token, you have to first create the tokens yourself. furthermore, the vast majority of the tokens you copy in hazel are smaller, less useful simple tokens. Zinnia makes good tokens. any card in your hand with zinnia on the field can be copied for 2 mana, with the copy being a 1/1. we don't care about power and toughness though (least of all because Zinnia themselves becomes bigger with every new token, making it an effective threat without even trying), we want token copies of strong creatures with good abilities. a token copy of a creature can often be much stronger than a nontoken creature. this is because the tokens can be doubled, populated, and copied very easily! Hazel might make a big board of dorks that can be tapped for mana, but Zinnia makes a big board of threats that have strong and valuable abilities, especially in tandem with each other. if i was building the deck, i'd think Sakashima of a Thousand Faces would be a relevant include, copying creatures and offspringing himself for even more, while enabling legends that go infinite with a copy of themselves (my lovely Omarthis, Ghostfire Initiate jumps to mind!) to be offspringed as well for a GG.

It is a rainy day on Dotaku, most shelter under awnings and sit watching the weather from cosy positions in cafes, frequenting the arcade by the docks, and wandering the greenhouses to dodge getting wet. You however have found your way out to a pitched marque with a handful of pokemon inside, one somewhat gloomy looking member of staff with them handing out treats. The staff member wears a zip up Dōtaku green jacket, only noticing you after a moment, a middle aged man with a rounded shape and kind eyes, one thick moustache hiding his top lip but yuo can tell he smiles.

"Come to make a new friend today? We''ve still got two trouble makers searching for the right match, maybe one would suit you. Would you like me to tell you a little about them?"

You nod, eyeing the four, two of which ocming more forward with looks of intruigue.

You're not unfamilair with bulbasaur, this one however looks very unusual, its bulb is no bulb at all, complexion far lighter, with the brightest eyes watching you. "This little lady was hatched right here on Dotaku, but she lacked what give bulbasaur their energy, not having been hatched with the seed that grows to be the typical heafty bulb on their backs. It wasnt an issue, happens from time to time, and so the Professor planted one within them, and put them in recovery. We had a freak power cut and the containment unit that had her in it was breached by Morelull spores. They took hold in the fresh surgery area,and when her bulb started to grow, it came out like this. Peach has checked her over a hundred times, and she shows no adverse issues other than being less tolerant of direct sun, and a little more active towards the end of the day and night time. She's jolly, sweet and curious, but quite young, so she can be a little naive about things. She shows a lot of talent with spore attacks, but struggles with more phyical moves. In time she may prove a very functional contest pokemon should she like that lifestyle." Moving along the line, more at the back chewing on a rather destroyed toy is an Aron with darker metal than normal, and more spikes than youre use to seeing.

"He was brought in with several dents, and substantial damage, this little bruiser despite being sick at the time was picking fights with things ten times his size. The dents were buffed out where possible, he shed chunks of his shell, and regrew in tough as ever with time. None of his damage was long lasting, and when asked wether he wished to return home, he decided travel was a better choice for him, seeing many visitors battling at the island inspired him I suppose. They do very well with steel tying and struggle with their usual rock moves, so we'd advise against pushing them down that route if they're not comfortable doing so. He has a fondness for Sour foods and likes a lot of pampering, though he may seem bashful about this at the start. Buffing their shell up so it shines will bring out a very pleasent disposition in this critter, so we advise you keep a cleaning set on hand for those days when its rainy or theres a lot of fights ahead. He mixes well with others, but can be a bully to weaker constitution mons, so keep an eye on them. We nicknamed him ‘Chunky' but he has no real affinity for the name, so feel free to discuss a pick a new one."

Next along, sitting directly in the centre of the table, so you couldnt possibly miss it, a curly tailed feline looking pokemon.

"This ones Belladonna, a real diva. Her old owner spoilt her rotten, and her behaviour got out of hand because of it. She's since been retrained and the naughty personality traits have been reeled in to a more managable level. She has become well behaved with other pokemon, socilising shouldn't be an issue now, she shows a great enjoyment of walks, but will not roughhouse, soexercise with her should be very heavily based around play and games more than battling. She loves a brush, loves to be doted on, and may weaponise her cute apperance, so dont let her get the better of you, clear systems and rules in place with reward when followed is key to her not taking full advantage of you. She has a good heart, just takes a little while for her to warm up to you."

The final one in the line is a cacnea that looks like its been stretched in a taffy puller, who sits with its little legs swinging off a crate.

"And finally that little man is perfectly healthy, happy, and otherwise well adjusted. He was brought in because someone thought there was something wrong with him, there isnt, he's just tall. His variant type has been seen working in tandem with ranchers in hotter climates to manage pokemon herds, their evolutions can see all around for a fair distance, and srve as rgeat guards, towering over their normal counterparts. He's got a real level head on him, and should grow to be a fantastic friend. He loves spicy foods, and tends to put others before himself alot, so make sure to give them dedicated time and space to maintain their health and happiness."

figuring out teams for characters who dont have canon teams/only partially full kinda fun sometimes .

I already have talked abt Argenta's team previously bc of CiaCM but im still sticking to my decisions . Meganium specifically is her old starter/possibly child of her original starter? still trying to decide. But Meganium is just such a Her pokemon to my brain in no way i could explain. Same with ninetales it just feels right. Dragonite from the tcg cards and Skarmory from pokemas. Apharos and Floarzel have less explanation else then the vibes just felt right for her

thorton bottom text. Most are from pokemas/one a reference to pokespe team. Rotom just Feels like a thorton 'mon and Cyclizar just feels right in my heart

Dahlia swaps out Medicham for Quaquaval ! It fits her dancing theme to a t as a fighting type more then Medicham. and also the more i can ignore medicham the better. for the hoenn brains i don't think most of them would shuffle their teams too much and stuff down the line but i do have Thoughts abt additional pkmn they'd have. Specifically how much Greta with a Zoroark would suck so severely it should be banned from the Battle Arena. which is exactly why she should have one. Same logic for Aegislash. "How would she have a Sneasler?" how do half these people have the legendaries they canonically have. Its free real estate.

Tucker's is mostly just following his trend of pokemon that would all later receive mega evolutions bc HOW did all his canon mon receive them. He's the reason the battle frontier didn't return /j

Arbok being an old pokemon from her youth who was already old when she caught him and is now a little too under the weather to battle all the time. Dunsparce. Typhlosion Mamoswine and Skitty are based off some of her anime-only housecats but i let the first two evolve over time! Skitty is a menace to society. Skitty will make everything Your issue. Lucy refuses to accept anyone trying to tell her that her Skitty is the worlds biggest problem causer skitty.

Okay so I was mildly obsessing over the Punkmon line and how cool it is when I realized it would fit perfectly with Gumdramon too. And then I drew this for some reason even though it would have just been easier to make a diagram with the reference book art or something but oh well.

I’m going to rant a little below the cut, just a warning.

OKAY.

So yeah, even though it doesn’t really need explaining I’ll show my findings for why the Punkmon line fits so perfectly as an evolution for Gumdramon too. This line is rocking so hard it could potentially be used to resolve two of my incomplete line OCDs which is crazy.

So getting the obvious out of the way, they’re both purple dragons. They have a lot of visual similarities. And they both use their tails to fight in some way, Gumdramon’s hammer, Punkmon’s pick, etc. And I think they both have fire based attacks so their elemental association lines up too.

Then theres the reference book entries. They’re both lil show offs! They want to look cool when they fight and pull a crowd, it’s so cute!

It also says Gumdramon is mischievous too! A mischievous little guy becoming a hardcore heavy metal anarchist is so good thematicly!

And if you wanted to, their designs are similar enough you could insert Arresterdramon/ Arresterdramon Superior Mode as the Adult/Champion or the Ultimate/Perfect if you like them better.

I was always sad that Gumdramon didn’t get a full line and just got a bunch of mode changes after Arresterdramon and the Punkmon line could solve it so well! (I know Xros Wars/Boy Hunters wasn’t really about evolution but it still bugs me. Like Boy Hunters was way less about Xrosing than main Xros Wars so they really should have just gave Gumdramon a full line, but oh well)

But yeah! I really hope they use this line in the future in some way, it would make me so happy. Even just being able to evolve Gumdramon down the Punkmon line in one of the games would be cool.

Also I didn’t look around to see if anyone else had already said this before so if I’m like the millionth person to point this out, I’m sorry!

This is for the femmes that due to their transness, their brashness, and their inability to compromise, exist on the edges of what 'woman' means. Some reject womanhood outright for an alternative nonbinary trans masculinity. Some see femininity as the absolute trap that it is. These are women who reject conventional femininity for something more butch, more futch and above all else transfeminine. I don't want this to be a binary punk movement. I want this to be something for the nasty nonbinary punks that have had femininity define their identity in some powerful and violent ways. This is for nasty gruesome grrls who have had their femininity denied. For the mascs and femmes who deny feminitiy outright for their own sanity. This isn't a movement just for cis women and they/thems, and womxn. this is a movement for transfems, transmasc, nonbinary freaks, trans androgynous art hoes, messy drag queens, sexy hermaphrodites, hard kink trans sex workers, the absolute nastiest femmes and mascs and enbies with shitty attitudes. Set 12: Bastion Accord

Ba-Baaaaa!

So! In honour of the first request from @chronojumperintraining as well as the new episode that just aired (don't worry no spoilers here), we start properly shifting these articles just from Rogue Deck analysis, to full on Meta Deck Analysis as well! What better way to start that then with a deck that's had an evolution long in the making which does Not disappoint at all? Bastion Accord!

CONT:All of your grade 3 or greater front row rear-guards cannot be chosen by your opponent's card effects, and get [Power]+5000. (Active on opponent's turn too) AUTO:At the end of the battle this unit attacked, choose one of your grade 3 or less rear-guards, [Stand] it, and if your opponent's vanguard is grade 3 or greater, it gets "AUTO1/Turn:When this unit attacks, COST [Counter Blast (1) & discard a card with "Bastion" in its card name from hand], and this unit performs drive checks until end of that battle." until end of turn.

Eye-catching content: Free restand?? Bastion Persona-Blast to drive check?? Resist?? Perma +5k??

This card is just about as insane as it looks and it only gets crazier from here! Here's the list I've been testing that really brings out Accord's full strength

Let's dive into some decisions behind this deck!

Firstly! The big new card from Set 12 outside of Accord himself, Grandeur Edge!

[CONT](Hand):When a grade 3 card would be revealed from your hand for the cost of your card's ability, this card may be regarded as revealing two cards. [CONT](RC/GC):If you have a vanguard with "Bastion" in its card name, this unit gets [Power]+10000/[Shield]+10000. (Active on opponent's turn too)

This card is one of the best things that Bastion's ever gotten, and it shouldn't be too hard to see why! By counting as 2 g3s, if you choose to use the Bastion ride-line, you dont need to keep as many g3s in hand in order to pay their costs! Also gaining +10k power as well as shield with a Bastion VG? It's Kokabiel and Pride Protection Dragon but way better because you can use it as a body on the board as well!

Now onto a pair of cards where one shines way more than the other, but the latter is still important! Sapient Owl and Rondahlia!

[CONT](RC/Hand/Trigger Zone):During your turn, if you have a vanguard with "Bastion" in its card name, this card gets grade+2/[Power]+2000. [AUTO]:When this unit is placed on (RC), if you have a vanguard with "Bastion" in its card name, COST [put a grade 3 or greater card from drop into soul], choose one of your vanguards, and it gets [Power]+5000 until end of turn. If a card with "Bastion" in its card name was put for this cost, and you did not Counter Charge this turn, Counter Charge (1).

This card single handedly plungles Bastion into Promo Hell, but for those who truly want to make Accord shine, the price is worth it! This card supplies early aggression, easy boosting, soul fuel and counter-charging! And even if you can't put a Bastion into soul with its effect, theres one other card that feels Great to target with Owl who also segues well into the Choices section of the article: Brave On Sky-Trimmer, Rondahlia!

An English version of a card?? Revolutionary!!

Jokes aside, its synergy with Owl should be quite obvious, by dropping Rondahlia for a ride-up, you can send it to soul with Owl and give a backrow Grandeur boost for a Massive Alden Swing, or any other massive swing if you like!

This synergy is also why we dont run Dark Strain, alongside the fact it works better in the long term, where you might want to Persona Ride on Accord before you ride to Prime next turn but you only have a single rear to give boost to? If you used Rondahlia the turn before, it feels so nice to get to use her second skill!

Now onto a more avant-garde choice, the Blaster Rideline

Anybody who's played Bastion even during OverDress's infancy will know what it feels like to call a trigger off of Fort's skill, and that's what we're aiming to prevent! It also helps to avoid calling a top-deck Prime (thats happened to me more than you would think) and losing a copy of our Kill Button. Yes it needs counter-blast to work, but with the speed the meta is at right now, you'll likely be eating an early damage, especially if you're going 2nd which this rideline really shines in the case of!

Those are the big power-cards, with units other than that feeling fairly obvious in use (Sajess to get over defensives, Alden for Draw, Prime as Kill Button, Surrogate to search Prime and a Rear) with Form Up being a flex-spot but also nice to help force extra guard on a accord swing boosted by Owl

Overall this deck is extremely strong, it can light people up without even needing to rely on Prime, but if they can get to Prime with a Rondahlia moving to soul? You better pray that you've worn them down with a rush enough that you kill on next turn if you even get one!

I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what next week's deck is going to be! It has something in common with 2 other decks I've shown off, but it isn't a Masques deck, I wonder if anyone's willing to try guess!

which pokemon do you think is the best design wise

God thats hard, there’s so many amazing pokemon designs… i think theres a lot of rules when it comes to pokemon design specifically, and some of it is super subjective. But personally, I love when pokemon does final evolutions that look like knights or armoured beasts.

I LOVE golisopod having these huge claws, the waist having an armour plate hanging down, the hunched posture showing weight… Decidueye just has a really pleasent design to look at overall, the colours are perfect and theres so much personality..

I think chespins line in particular shows such a nice progression from the starter to the middle evo, with a final evolution that has trace remnants of the other two but is also a completely new pokemon instead of a linear progression.

but this + that event page line about pouring coffee while captain hands in tokens or whatever got me thinking about it again, because as with most other ppl who has threatened the crew's lives (most cuz some times has been....a bit complicated...), gran does not necessarily fully trust ppl day1. ive been over this before so im not gonna be lengthy on it, but especially in the case of sandalphon he 1) was out to hurt vyrn 2) kidnapped lyria. and those things are like. the no1 things gran cant forgive. they will be sad about his situation and while they themself are quick to reach out they're easily swayed by lyria who reaches out even quicker. cue the complicated era of 'ofc we'll take sandal in but also i cant forgive u for those things and i dont trust u alone with either of them for a long while' and further complicated feelings of being upset they cant forgive (which that alone is something they struggle with (thank u grand olivia fate eps)) even when they Do start to trust sandalphon wholeheartedly

then theres things like ppls "please take care of sandalphon for us" and the mixed bitter feelings towards Those words about someone who tried to hurt their besties

->this whole thing translates to their relation with & feelings towards crewmembers with similar stories as well, its just sandal-focused cuz the entire captain teasing 'ur fingers are delicate' and a lot of his lines during the event. theres a looooooot of rollercoasters of emotions gran goes through upon their & the crews relation growing, even if they always will be ready to help & defend ppl no matter what their trust % is toward someone.

im gonna be honest i havent read sandals stuff outside of events but the gran & sandal relation story thats developing in my silly little thoughts was thriving throughout this event

thank you ^_^ I love Espeon, it was my first partner ride or die pokemon in my first pokemon game (shield). but I also love Alolan Raichu because it's my two favorite types. also Alola is the goat and so is Alolan Raichus design

Nightmare Polycule: The cirsed creation of like. 4 people on a niche fandom discord. Polycule consisting of pretty much every adult character in the series. It's awful and somehow the best thing ever. The potential for both crack and angst is unmatched. The divorced parents energy is OFF THE CHARTS. Marcia realizes she is a morosexual and has a crisis about it. Gringe confronts his prejudices by falling for a no-good wizard. Jillie Djinn is Marcia's ex and also dead and also GHOSTING ON HER COUCH which makes it very hard to bring her boyfriends over. Marcellus tries to be dramatic about the fleetingness of human life (except his) and gets made fun of until he confronts his trauma instead. Sarah and Mrs Gringe are having tea and getting a break from the drama.

Nokia/Ami: (spoilers for the game) all the fan stuff ive seen for the game is painfully straight unless its focusing on the two ships where one character is canonically gay n in love with the other (protag of the sequel game with his gay bestie i forgot the name of n yuuko/fei) n ami is usually just drawn on her own BUT theres a lot of canon subtext between nokia n ami mostly as a result of not much actually changing based on if u play as a boy or a girl regardless nokia to some extent likes ami she flirts with her talks about their relationship as if theyre already dating theres a scene that parallels a m/f couple in the game that plays exactly the same between ami n nokia with two other characters saying something along the lines of ah young love during a mandatory side quest ami gets offered an implied sex doll that looks exactly like nokia (weird story there the quest ends with it being heavily implied that the people that take the dolls end up having their organs harvested while their minds are stuck in a digital space called eden unaware that theyre not in the real world) n she has to think about it before declining the offer nokia's character arc is working to become a strong leader n reliable friend cause she wants to stand next to ami instead of relying on her theyre childhood friends but forgot about it ok i need to explain a bit more of the story so like as kids ami n nokia along with three other characters met beta testing for eden n one of them ended up getting eden syndrome to make sure theyre all able to leave safely (theres a thing called eaters that if u get eaten by put u in a coma cause theyre storing the contents of ur brain in them) n a guy who wants to use the eaters to get to the next stage of evolution removes their memories of the incident so years later as teenagers ami nokia n arata (one of the childhood friends important to the story but not to the ship) become friends again n reunite on eden where ami ends up getting eden syndrome but in a funky way cause she was logging out as she got eaten so she has a cyber body that over the course of the game deteriorates n at the end of the game ami basically dies right as everything is being fixed all the victims of eden syndrome are no longer comatose but ami is cause yknow kind of deteriorated too much n it happened right in front of nokia's eyes as she reached out for her hand so they could go home together n nokia cries for the only time in the game cause of that but ive genuinely never seen any fan stuff of them interacting so despite them being teased romantically n built up as being really important to eachother theres nothing not even like nokia with takumi (boy protagonist) im submitting it specifically as nokia/ami just cause i like wlw ships more if u want to do it neutrally protag's surname regardless of gender is aiba sorry if this is incoherent its been like 6 months since ive played the game

people often ask "why isnt psyduck/golduck psychic type" which is a fair question but the usual answer is "psychic is a special rare type in gen 1" which isnt true at all! theres drowzee, mr mime, starmie, slowpoke, exeggutor, and jynx! its not an uncommon type (counting full evolution lines, there are 14 psychic types! a tenth of gen 1 pokemon)! i think its literally just that they already had two water/psychic types in the same area (seafoam islands) and they didnt want a third. which admittedly would be kind of silly

okay so!! theres two right? ones named slots and the other is named roulette and their two of my dads pokemon he uses for work sometimes but not all the time. he got them both as gabite like 2?? years ago?? and theyre siblings. they were pretty close to evolving when he got them so they werent gabite for long lol.

despite being wild caught and likely spending their entire life in or around area zero theye sosososo friendly now. they werent initially but being spoiled will change a pokemon VERY quickly lol.

slots is a guy and roulette is a girl but its kinda hard to tell since they both got a lot of tattered fins and stuff from growing up in a0. theyre mostly trained to fight dangerous pokemon down in the pit + search and rescue since my dad is one of the rangers that works down there (which is why they were caught from the pit. it was decided every ranger assigned down there would use a full team of six pokemon and that outside of partners they may have had before that were deemed strong enough to hold their own down there, everything else had to be caught in the crater as the non-paradox pokemon down there have developed to be stronger to deal with the paradoxes they now have to share a space with) theyre very very sweet even if theyre great big land sharpedo lol

fun fact actually! the garchomp line is like a bunch of big scaley murkrow! they live up to the whole dragons hoarding treasure thing. its most prominent with the gabite but even garchomp may fight over pretty crystals and whatever other treasures theyve hoarded. we've actually seen a few instances where members of the evolution line have traded treasures if both have a gem of some sort the other wants and they arent particularly attached to. this is why slots and roulette keep sitting on me. i have a bunch of piercings and what not so they're trying to add me to their hoard

eden is a californian cringefail girlflop who, at the start of her story, has recently lost her job and is on a countdown timer until she runs out of money and has to move back in with her mom. an unacceptable outcome.

incidentally some years ago, earth made first contact (or rather, they were contacted by) alien life. an entity calling itself the Trans-Planetary Collective (the TPC network) reached out to the people of earth, or so its said, with a cryptic message suggesting that earth would soon have the opportunity to join their esteemed ranks. after that day a strange satellite began circling the earth, surrounded by an impenetrable shield.

soon after, various objects containing super advanced technology began appearing in cities all over the world (conveniently in the form of cute wearable accessories!) giving those who possessed them incredible powers! it was extrapolated that the alien visitors had chosen a number of humans to receive their gifts and act as their proxies on earth, demonstrating humanity's capacity for goodness and heroism in order to prove themselves worthy of joining the great collective and entering into a new age of human evolution. (not that everybody who received their gift intended to use it so generously..)

the relationship between the mysterious alien "sponsors" and their chosen proxies remains pretty one sided, but it quickly becomes a highly coveted position. in a short few years, being a proxy hero became synonymous with celebrity.

eden has long been a total proxy fangirl, but where new proxies used to pop up constantly, the phenomenon has started to die down, and shes lost whatever slim hope she had of being chosen herself. until she comes across a strange ring lying abandoned on the beach...

edens new sponsor is from a far away planet called Scabbertorax, and is in fact one instance of an elaborate hivemind, a sapient infection which has already devoured and possessed all warmblooded life on its home world. its also a lot more... hands on than the usual sponsor, having been transported directly to earth contained in edens ring and entering her body to control her directly.

eden is able to fight off the virus' influence enough to maintain her autonomy, but the two are stuck together now, inextricably biologically entwined. scabby (as eden starts to call it) wants to use edens body as a host to prove the might and glory of its home world. eden just wants that sweet proxy hero gig. so, they come to an understanding.

trouble is, the hero they create together, scabigail, is.. pretty scary looking. and almost immediately shes labeled a villain by the media. this is a problem, as public reception plays a surprisingly big part in hero work here. it also puts her unwillingly at odds with the other local heroes in her area.

plus, if eden wants to keep her apartment she needs corporate sponsorship as well as alien. many other proxies are already holding various ad deals to fund their heroism and the extravagant lifestyle that the public expects of them, but no one wants to slap their branding on a hero who looks like a wad of chewed gum with teeth.

thus begins the uphill battle of convincing scabby to let eden be in charge of their brand, shaping them from a gory monstrosity to a lovable (lethal) magical girl!

little does eden know theres still a lot about her alien sponsor and the TPC itself that she doesnt understand....

the supposed coalition of peaceful planetary leaders is actually a massive media conglomerate composed of the most wealthy and influential figures of their respective species. there was never any real intention to bring earth into a new age. they came across earth by chance and, entertained by the humans propensity for meaningless squabbling, decided to create what is essentially an elaborate reality show along the lines of "what happens if we give these silly apes some advanced alien technology and make them fight for our approval?"

each planet involved has a pet proxy theyre rooting for, but no one counted on scabigail, the dark horse with a sponsor completely unaffiliated with any planet on the TPC network. hailing from some backwater dwarf planet and immediately breaking the No Direct Interference rule, scabby presents a serious problem to the very conceit of this game.

naturally many of the other sponsors want to get rid of scabigail, but theyre unable to directly intervene lest they violate their own rules. so they have to try and influence their respective proxies into seeing her as an enemy in hopes that one of them will manage to take her down.

the more she overcomes however the more the audience starts to root for this unlikely underdog, further complicating the issue. the network cant get rid of her, but they also cant let her win, or who knows what their investors will do! the political implications of a Scabbertoraxian even being recognized as meaningfully intelligent by their viewership alone could be disastrous!
