sorry for being super late to the zhuge liang time-loop party but image we're several iterations in and our boy kongming is sitting in his little mountain hut waiting for liu bei to show up like he always does but this time sun zhou yu turns up instead

oh ho this is a hilarious concept! this is the enemies to enemies timeline we all need. i think it would make more sense for lu su and zhou yu to turn up, because of the simple reason that sun quan is a duke at this point and can't leave the palace for such an extended period of time vs liu bei the one-horse warlord.

ok, the timeline needs to be super fucked up at this stage in order to bring these two togather, because in the alpha timeline even though kongming was fairly well known as a genius hermit, he hasn't done anything so extraordinary at this stage that it warrents a personal visit from the two most powerful people in the southland.

i think we can do this by making him kinda new to the whole timeloop thing, and he accidentally/on purpose reveals some future events in order to get liu bei to find him faster, and it ends up backfiring.

picture this: kongming is sitting in his thatched hut, tears in his eyes, heart all a-flutter, waiting for his beloved leige lord to turn up, and the servant is like "master, there's three important men at the door" (idk who the third guy should be but it's a nice round number. maybe huang gai?) kongming: !!!! "ok, I will play some music to set the mood. i was rude last time by falling asleep and i want to make a good impression."

not even 3 bars in and a VERY familiar voice calls out "you're flat."

kongming is so fucking outraged that for a second he forgets to be surprised because that was ONE HALF-STEP DOWN, ASSHOLE!!!! YOU trying getting reincarnated and deincarnated several times over and then meet your soulmate (he called liu bei that irl, look it up) and see how steady your hands are, asshole!!! god, this is just like wei wuxian from my danmeis...

then it dawns on him that none of the peach garden trio have musical literacy. he runs outside, takes one look at the three men in his courtyard and is like "well, this timeline is a wash. aight im gonna go out back and bash my head in. on second thought, i should do it here and freak zhou yu out. suicidal existential despair is no excuse not to troll zhou yu."

but the afformentioned takes this opportunity to stroll into kongming's bedroom, and starts tuning his qin (not a euphamism) without permission. kong ming says passive-agressively, "i see you're quite adept at tightening another man's strings" (not a euphamism), zhou yu replies "a neglected instrument is like a neglected soul" (not a euphamism), "are you offering to duet?" says kongming through gritted teeth to which zhou yu replies "oh don't worry, i can see you're out of practise so i'll be gentle and take it slow," (not a--) and it's at this point lu su grabs huang gai by the elbow and goes "wow, what a nice bamboo grove! the two of us are going for a walk! a nice LONG walk FAR AWAY in the BAMBOO GROVE for THIRTY TO FORTY MINUTES! see you in THIRTY TO FORTY MINUTES!"

Bruuuuuuuce Arnold Johnston, where are you?" The Woman now yelled a bit angrly but dident want to be upset cause of her unborn Child.

"Im deeply sorry, Lavender" the Man who looked a bit like a Punk replied. Than he kissed his Wife passionatly on the Lips and of course her Belly. "Do you have the Gift for my Parents?" Lavender asked.

"Oh no i totally left it upstairs" Bruce replied a bit sweating.

"Oh boy, i hope you dont turn out like ya Daddy" Lavender said jokely but kissed her Husband back.

Some Hours the Doorbell rung and Bruce and Lavender were there. "How nice too meet ya two" Iris and Ash told them. They got hugs and nice Gifts. "Well well well, you two are super happy; right?" Ash asked smiling. "Hes sometimes silly, but hes my Prince" Lavender grinned and kissed her Husband. "We were so proud when ya fought for him" Iris replied and hugged her Daughter. I’m so glad you mentioned this because I didn’t quite notice it as an added bit of their dynamic, but they both, as the should go, got a little bit of what they’ve wanted!!!! Which is really charming that they both kinda stay stubborn in their ways, regressing or simply doubling down respectively, and then actually both grow a little bit by the end! While obviously they should progress (or land somewhere other than where they’ve started until that’s another point/purpose), it’s just a charming detail they did get something, by actually dropping the delusion/confronting a bit of who they are and what things are actually like in reality.

They make me so ill, I think. I love my little bad coping mechanism mfs. They rlly thought if they just just dug their heels in, stubborn as shit, double down again and again, it’d just work out. oh man. so i never actually finished writing a fic for the event (even tho i REALLY wanted to) but the ones i liked writing the most was a fill about leo and draxum (where leo was an absolute shit to draxum) and a fill i was writing of a rise age swap au (where mikey was the oldest and leo the youngest--not a one to one swap, more like a shuffle)

as for reading, i kept myself from reading most of them at the time of the event so i wouldnt accidentally just write someone else's ideas, but there were some really great fics that got published for the event!!

tho i can i can be biased here and say that i really liked the two fills that i got for my "(rise) leo needs glasses" idea lol. they're both really great fics and i really enjoyed them a lot!!

If you wanna play some angst with a modern twist I'd recommend something alike "Recovery of an MMO Junkie": a wholesome anime in which the main character (a woman in her 30s in the original anime) decides to leave their job and enters into videogames to spend their free time... it has themes like depression, job burtout and online friendship... The anime is very wholesome and all the main characters are people in their 30s who are barely starting to date and meet people...

Dimitri leaves his job in his 30s because he is serverly burned out and depressed and since he already has a ton of money decides to isolate himself and play videogames all day (Imagine a huge online videogame like genshin impact/FFXIV), he meets a lot of people online and he slowly starts to recover. His character is the how he'd like to present himself or more like acadimitri to other people: preppy, super polite and kind, he meets Byleth's character and they become friends online and offline (without knowing who the other is!).

Imagine Dimitri's character something like pink haired magical girl and Byleth's... pretty much Jeralt (whom Death's she's not done recovering from).

Even if don't like the prompt I'd still recomend the anime to you, it's very wholesome if you like some nice adult romance (in the sense that the protagonists are mature adults not in the R18 sense LOL).

i can totally see dimitri as moriko. a depressed modern dima is 100% going to indulge in videogames as an escapism copying method ( :c ).

i could make byleth work in sakurai's role, maybe erasing some of his original shyness (dimitri would work as him too!! but i prefer your original idea <3) and with more straightforwardness, but still! byleth would be super supportive of her online friend, no matter the game they play in 🥺

(also, im sorry but moriko and sakurai are LITERAL SOULMATES??? them being best online buddies in not one but TWO videogames? they finding the other in every universe...... so dimileth coded u.U anon you should know i spent all the anime screaming in delightful :'] )

also, evil of me, but what about sylvain as koiwai? i usually love when sylvain is watching dimileth pining for each other and decides to step in to help them- and it's exactly what koiwai does :'] to make this idea work similar to the in-anime story, maybe i could go like this:

sylvain is dimitri's childhood friend but in adulthood they didn't stay in touch much; meanwhile sylvain and byleth became work collegues. (of course sylvain tried to flirt wit byleth at first, but she quickly made clear she was NOT interested, and eventually they became friends.) after *insert shenanigans that makes byleth and dimitri meet irl*, sylvain meets dimitri again and convince him to go out a bit; this way sylvain notices dimitri is starting to have a crush over byleth so he starts doing his evil dimileth plans (are his eyes deceiving sylvain, or byleth has just smiled for the first time since he met her while talking to dimitri?). "unplanned" dimileth date, leaving them alone together, making dimitri jealous, forcing them to play together so they can discover their online identities? all sylvain's superb mastermind!

(also sorry but kanbe gave me felix vibes lol)

also, i LOVED that moriko and sakurai's characters were switched gender, so i'm totally with you about giving dimitri a madoka-style avatar and byleth a jeralt-like one :'] if i must be honest, the whole "oh nooo irl people cant know i play as a man in game" from moriko ended up tiring me a bit (not that it isnt well done, but it got too long as a "plot issues" imo while it wasnt an issues for anyone xD), but i totally can see dimitri worrying about this same thing, my boy's fav hobby is worrying about meaningless thing; just for byleth to end his gendercrysis issues in a sec (also yes- why not having nonbinary dimitri in the end? 👉👈)

moriko's eternal hunger works best for byleth of course; but it won't stop me from making "dimitri-wants-cheese" jokes uwu

HEHE OH THIS IS SO FUN i do ...... i love sleepy little guys . ok hello its next day valentine and i wrote a whole long paragraph and then fell asleepers and i dont wanna take fifty years to reply to asks the way i always do so im just doing jeddie and yvonne bc theyre my tippy top favs rn :3 im really into syd too rn but if i take the time to do a big research dive into eveery time hes ever mentioned sleeping im gonna fuck myself over bc i can Vaguely remember him having sleep habits of some sort that are brought up once or twice and if i dive into all that this is gonna take even longer to post!!!!!!!

i think jedidiah gets sleepy very quickly and easily but is kind of in denial of this fact . hes like an old man the second its like 8 pm hes getting sleepy but he forces himself to stay up until 8 am thru the sheer power of paranoia and freakishness anyway . he gets kinda sleepy mumbly he like tries to go on long rambles but its sort of incoherent and quiet . also i think he sleeps in the weirdest positions EXCLUSIVELY he cant sleep if all his limbs arent bent in weird positions and his head isnt tilted weirdly and his pillow isnt in the most hyperspecific configuration possible . also i feel like he needs a clock by him to sleep ..... he needs to Hear the ticking or he cant sleep . i also think he has a lot of rituals (sorry for ocdjedding i cant help it) abt checking to be sure sydneys alive and shit like that so he tends to like . practically fall asleep and then get very anxious and checky and then almost fall back asleep again and hten loop for a while before he properly zonks out

yvonne i think is very much the opposite she can stay up SUPER late . whenever theyd hang out w the above at night jeddied start nodding off in the middle of it and yvonned shake him up . i think they tend to snore and sleeptalk theyre Quite noisy when theyre asleep joshua is deeply annoyed by it but yvonne tells him 2 stop being a big baby . i think they get very grouchy when shes tired in the mornings they NEEED to wake up late and have had breakfast in order to talk to u or else theyre grumbling and glaring and making huffy noises about it . on the contrary i think at NIGHTS when shes sleepy shes very silly and chatty and they go on big rambles and enjoy cuddling up and things like that . tired vs sleepy ........ i think they also sleep Splayed About all over the place and i dont think they usually have a blanket they seem like the type to run hot to me ... goths who run hot i salute u . they can also sleep anywhere i feel like they can sleep in a chair or leaning against something or at a desk or standing up at any time if theyre sleepy they can just zonk out

with satoru it’s not a question — it’s a statement. he declares it — that we are together in every universe, that he’s sure of it bc he can’t imagine it otherwise bc we’re meant to be and he’s sure he finds me in every one of them (he’s super cringe tbh but it’s sickeningly cute). and he drops this during very mundane but tender moments like waking up next to each other or right before falling asleep or when chopping vegetables together or drying each others hair or when loading groceries into the car or whenever i break a wine glass and crouch down to pick the broken pieces up but he slaps my hand away and picks them himself so i don’t accidentally cut myself.. it always catches me off guard

I’m glad you like her! She’s supposed to look very bookworms on first appearance but she’s much more like delinquent in personality. Not a bad person per day but pushy, is what I describe her as. I should have known people would like the tall lady, they always do lol.

That kinda remind me of how some real world country treat young veteran. Wasting all your limb and prime day to fight for country and come back. - Dabi in the tank. Literally half conscious corpse pinned to a board like insect specimen. And have no say in who can come visit him? His smack talk is right they treat him as animal inna zoo. And the audacity of Endeavor who want to reconcile? I mean look at all the smack talk when Endeavor try to talk to him. Shoto and the sibling and the mom should be the only one allow to visit him. Not Endeavor. Dabi only reply nicely to Shoto because he’s the only one who doesn’t into this forced reconciliation things. Shoto just want to talk to him, what’s his favorite food.

At least Dabi should have a say in denying who can visit him. And Endeavor should get more shit coming his way more than just losing an arm and retired. Dishonorable discharge equivalent of hero association or something, get his rank revoked at least

Force reconciliation is a big problem in asian family. Esp abusive household one. Personal experience, sadly. They could done so many wrong and everyone still expect you to reconcile because they are *parent* regardless of how much damage has been done, how many time you try to communicate with them that they hurt you and it’s way too late to listen to what left of your kid. Or that they never listen to you and push you into walking on path of self destruction just to prove themself to the parent.

- Chisaki, oh they did Chisaki really dirty. He’s reduced to animal that bang their head on things in concrete box with no enrichment already. And now his pops going to add even more pressure on already broken man. I was expect something along the line of he’s getting bit more sanity and say sorry to Eri or something. Or at least have realization that he sucks and want to work on fixing the damage (manually, because his quirk factor is arm and quirk doesn’t work on prosthetic)

Also what kind of grandpa just left their grandkid to the guy who have no idea how to be good parent and never check up on them before Chisaki put him in coma anyway. Do you even visit Eri after haul her off to Chisaki lab? Do you never give a damn about Chisaki mental state growing up? It take a long way for someone to actually become mad scientist and no one even notice that? Equally terrible.

Im somewhat convinced that they just hate Chisaki. While I love armless bearded depressed Chisaki. He got no further character development, no backstory to explain why he sucks or why he choose to do this. Just mad scientist become pile of mess and now adding his pops as a cherry on top

Doubling down on my "the ending to BNHA is intended to be satire on how society can be trained to uphold broken systems and commit great injustices with much enthusiasm and patriotism and any attempt to change the status quo will be quashed to thunderous applause" hot take because no way in fucking HELL did I just read "after the manga repeatedly drilled into us that this was the story of how Deku became the greatest hero in the world, after he defeats Shigaraki and becomes Quirkless again he gets a job in fast food"

The story is literally ending with nothing fundamentally changing, a bunch of good people have died, become disabled, and or are now powerless, the people in charge of many of the systemic evils that actually created many of the series' threats and antagonists are just totally fine, kicking it chilling not being punished at all, Endeavor as a symbol of the broken Hero Society, a top hero who turned out to be literally beating his family behind closed doors, isn't punished at all, his family even still talks to him, he still has a job as one of the most top paying Heroes, while Shigaraki and most of his friends are dead

The story is ending with Deku not just powerless, but LITERALLY powerless: he's a fucking KONBINI EMPLOYEE? So he doesn't even have any power or authority as a cop or a government employee or like, even a clerk for a hero? You're telling me they couldn't even reward the guy who saved the planet a high paying desk job somewhere? He's literally punted down to the bottom rungs of Japanese society the MICROSECOND he's Quirkless again?

How genuinely fucking depressing. Oh my god guys, Deku did NOT deserve this. Jesus Christ if you're gonna make anyone Quirkless and give them some sort of shitty humbling job that'll make them appreciate life more, Bakugou is RIGHT FUCKING THERE--

It really helps to take some time to focus on yourself and to help to try to find time to relax. You're doing the best you can - don't sell yourself short. Man... Tengen knew he had fucked up

The wives looked at him weirdly. He whispered to them to go inside and leave them alone for a while. They nod and go inside leaving the two of them. "[name] I'm sorry"

She couldn't even look at him. she wanted to scream and cry and hit him, but she didn't. "ill promise to never do this again [name] please just forgive me" he said sitting next to her and rubbing her back.

she didn't forgive him but she told him a classic "yeah sure ok" Tengen thought it was enough and smiled at her. little did he know she was still very mad at him.

After 3 days of Tengen and his wives to staying home, they had to leave. the wives didn't say goodbye as usual. Uzui hugged you and tried to give you a kiss but you turned your head around and he had to kiss your cheek. he was in disarray by your action and he tried to console you but his crow didn't allow it. you scrubbed your cheek super hard after that.

"I'll come home early today ok?" he said hugging [name] again and successfully giving her a kiss on the lips.

It was the evening now, [name] got dressed up. she had decided to go to the festival alone. when she reached the festival she wanted to cry. there were so many couples deeply in love, happily eating and talking.

she wanted to cry. she knew Tengen would never give her that type of love ever again. Then she started herself as a woman altogether. she started crying just thinking about her marriage. [name] started making her way home, still crying. Of course, no one cared about her, they just gave her strange looks.

but there was someone. someone who cared for her in the crowd. Our demon king Muzan. [name] didn't even notice him. but he did. it was as if time slowed down for him when you walked past him. that sweet scent and melodious heartbeat. had his past lover really been reincarnated? When he was about to call for you his human daughter called out for him and he had to go. he would come for you tomorrow.

It was now the next day. Tengen and the three others would arrive home today. they would be tired so you wanted to make them a warm dinner. you made your way to the market for some last-minute shopping for dinner. then you saw more couples shopping together. you thought about your marriage. if you could see into the future you about never marry him.

[name] was so lost in thought that she didn't notice the vegetables dropping from her bag. Luckily Kibutsuji was there, "excuse me miss you dropped something" she turned around to meet the red-eyed man. "oh Im very sorry" she replied. oh, how happy Muzan was by hearing that sweet voice of yours again. he kneeled down picking up the tomatoes.

You continued to conversate with him, you have never felt happier. while talking to him, there was something familiar with him almost like you had seen him or talked to him before. but you couldn't pinpoint it.

time went quicker when you were with him. You two got along so well that he even won you a pretty little clip from the claw machines at the festival. he was so sweet! if only Uzui was like him.

as he placed the pin on your hair, you felt how unnaturally cold he was

"oh it looks like it's late I shall head home now" you spoke as you smiled.

"of course, we could meet another day. it's really late now its dangerous to go alone let me accompany you"

"you're too sweet! alright let's go"

it was weird that you were taking a stranger to your home. but does it really matter? it's not like he could get inside your home after all.

while walking to your home, Kibutsuji kept the mood up by making various conversations that kept you interested. "well this is my stop" you said. "ok. goodnight sleep well uhh.." Muzan spoke

"its [name] what about yours," you asked him "you can call me KIbutsuji" he smiled "oh ok, Kibutsuji I hope you have good sleep"

after he left you went inside and started cooking dinner. You were so much happier now. meanwhile, Uzui wanted to get home as soon as possible and grab his love, his wife his [name]. When the trio arrived they saw you, they saw how you were so much cheerier and even singing a song while cooking.

you were even wearing perfume, your hair was done, and your makeup looked lovely. and he saw the pin she was wearing. the pin Muzan won for her. Tengen immediately started assuming that his wife was cheating on him. he grew angry.

later on, Uzui once again left [name] out and went to the festival with the other three. they got into an argument about it and he brought up how she was cheating on him with another man.

"YOU'VE PROBABLY BEEN CHEATING ON ME THIS ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP [NAME]!!! YOU'RE A FUCKING WHORE. THAT HAIRPIN YOU'RE WEARING IT MUST HAVE BEEN WON BY A MAN FOR YOU!!"

"whore...?" [name] had tears in her eyes uzui immediately tried apologizing but she had enough of this. this was her time to fight back.

"AM I A FUCKING WHORE FOR WANTING TO LOOK PRETTY FOR ONCE? THIS PIN? YES, A MAN WON IT FOR ME. DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY? I WAS FUCKING CRYING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET TENGEN!!"

"BECAUSE OF YOU! I WAS CRYING BECAUSE OF OUR FAILED MARRIAGE. THIS MAKEUP? I WANTED TO LOOK PRETTY FOR YOU! SINCE YOU WON'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE ME!! AND THIS PERFUME, IS IT A CRIME THAT YOU WANT TO SMELL NICE?"

Tengen was in tears hearing those aggressive words leave your mouth. he did deserve it.

"I've had enough Tengen I think its time we part ours ways, you enjoy your life" said [name]

"no please [name] I promise I will trust you! please just don't leave me" Uzui got down on his knees begging for you to stay. "I'm sorry Uzui but its over"

she made her way to her room, leaving Uzui and the three wives crying. well not exactly the three wives, they didn't even know you properly it was Tengen himself crying his eyes off.

You had to sleep in Tengen's estate today. it was already midnight and there would be demons outside. Only if you knew that you shouldn't worry about that since your lover was their ruler.

that night you had the weirdest dreams ever. almost like a rewind of your past life, you saw the same man you called your friend killing so many people, and you learned his name Muzan Kibutsuji.

The next day, you waited till evening to move. the new 'friend' you met at the festival yesterday told you that he'll be at the festival when the sun sets and you wanted to go with him.

Tengen and the trio had another mission somewhere nearby yesterday and left after your argument so they would be back by this evening. as you were about to leave they arrived. he begged you not to leave but you refused, alas he had to set you free. it was his fault after all.

after meeting up with Kibutusuji you went to a bar to get some drinks. You told him everything that had unfolded in your home and he seemed to genuinely care. "you know Kibutsuji, I really like you" he seemed shocked. yes, you did drink but it was not enough to get you drunk. it must've been an honest thing.

he took you to a hotel, and it happened so fast. All the unreleased love just unraveled itself and for the first time ever you actually made love with someone.

in the middle of the session, you uttered his full name. He froze and started choking you! he asked you how you knew his name. Out of complete fear you told him about the dream you had about him and that you knew he was a demon but you couldn't stop loving him. he cried after those pretty little sentences. he has never felt so loved ever before.

It's now been 2 months since you and Muzan have been together. Now there's even a little half-demon half-human baby growing inside your tummy! you were so happy with him. who knew demons could love this well.

one day, when Muzan was gone with work or something you had gone to the market to buy some baby clothes for your little one. Unfortunately for you, there were demon slayers nearby. one of them being Tanjiro.
