sO. time for LONG POST.

I have been sleeping on Arcane for a while. I didn’t know much about it, it looked cool but I just wasn’t sure about it since it was based on League and I’ve never played, didn’t know what I would be getting into. Anyway I watched it all in one sitting. HOLy. SHIT. I already knew the animation was peak and the music was amazing, but just holy crap man. I didn’t know the EXTENT of it.

The texturing of all the models and the backgrounds and the animation is stylized ALL THE TIME, EVERY SINGLE FRAME OF THE SHOW. But the plot. OH MY GOD the PLOT. I didn’t know at ALL what was happening in this show less than a day ago besides what everyone was posting about the new season. Nothing. I didn’t expect such a beautifully well written and entertaining and gut wrenching masterpiece.

The characters are so endearing, every single one. They all have deep development and tragedy etched into them. Everything connects. It’s a dangerous dance of sorrow and anger blinding decisions and love guiding people onto the paths of their lives whether bad or good.

I can’t believe I have been SLEEPING on this ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE. Every shot is beautiful, every line delivered with such passion, the music, the choreography, all of it. It definitely uses its budget to the limits and it is so revolutionary for animation.

I am so freaking sad that i’m only getting into it now right before it ends but im also so happy that i got into it while theres still content for it right now. But yeah still very sad i slept on it.

A really bad trait of mine is that I do a lot of things out of spite, including refusing stuff, especially when it comes to media.

Like, these past two days everyone around me was like "OMG NIMONA IS SOOOO GOOD YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT!!"

And you know what? I don't care. Now I'm not gonna watch it JUST because everyone is screaming about it

But I’ll watch anything so long as it’s supernatural/fantasy and significant WLW representation. And when I say “significant” I mean both characters in the ship either have to be main characters or given a lot of focus on their characters individually so they seem like real breathing people, not just figures to fill a quota.

Well. I just spend the last...hours...well technically the whole evening binge watching season 2 of Arcane. And what can i say? DAMN.

The story left me at so many points with an open mouth. I thought i knew roughly in what direction it would go, and let me tell you: NO. NO I DID NOT. Which i loved because so much media has become so damn predictive that it is no fun to watch anymore. Character development and and a wonderful bow tighening the different plotlines together. Just wonderful.

And the animation. This series ist just a freaking love letter to it. So many creative ideas to use the art to convey emotions and atmosphere. It was a freaking treat for the eyes and i loved every second of it.

The music was wonderful again too, through i thought there were a little to many songs. It robbed the music of the impact and presence it had in the first season. But still not bad. The one at the beginning of this post is my current favorit after the first watch.

So if someone read this till now and it isnt clear yet: A GIANT BIG RECOMMENDATION! Watch this series! It is worth it!
