Quack Pack Summer - Huey, Dewey and Louie vacationing with their sisters, cousins, brothers and friends and girlfriends in Hawaii - Quack Pack AU - Summer - Duckverse - Quack Pack - My version - Gift for my friend

I drew and finished it on 7/31, just in time for this seventh month.

Although summer started on June 21, which is the longest day of the year, summer is certainly not worth it without the most important item, which is swimming and enjoying the beach by the sea or by rivers or lakes. So in these months we can enjoy rest and sunbathing as well as fun on the beach and good swimming. So I drew my favorite characters (preteens and teens to be exact) from Quack Pack or my Quack Pack AU versions as they play. Dugan Duck (Fethry's nephew) and Shamrock Gander (Gladstone's nephew) built a great sandcastle, and Newton (Gyro's nephew) eats ice cream, and Louie Duck, who loves animals, rides a dolphin. Besides them there are also Gosalyn Mallard, Huey Duck, Dewey Duck, April, May and June Duck (Daisy's nieces), Honker Muddlefoot, Webby Vanderquack, Phooey Duck and Zico and Zeca Carioca (Jose Carioca's nephews).

What is Clara and Webby's wedding like?

They have a spring wedding in the gardens of Gearloose Grotto! They each had their mothers walk them down the aisle, it was very lovely.

Everything went off without a hitch.

For the most part.

See, there were no real spy or supervillain shenanigans when it came time for the wedding. Emma, Steelbeak, and Fethry arrive without any problems a few days before, and Mad Ducktor bought them the pizza stone that was on their registry and no one is quite sure what to make of that.

The only slight hiccup was that, on the last day Clara was on Avenging Angel duty before the wedding, she got hurt. She landed wrong while taking down a thief and hurt her knee. Fortunately, nothing was broken, and she didn't tear anything, so surgery wasn't in her future, but it hurt a lot and she had trouble putting any weight on it. Boyd tells her that, with some rest, she'll be fine.

Clara, in the infirmary, begins to panic because Webby cannot know about this and enlists Boyd, Newton, Louie and Sylvie to help her hide her injury from Webby. Which ultimately involves hiding Clara from Webby. Which is hard, because Clara can't really walk on her own, and needs to rest, and because she's still living at the Grotto at the time, where all the wedding prep is happening, so she can't exactly hide in her room while she alternatively applies ice and heat to her knee. Fortunately, the Grotto also provides a lot of places to hide. Clara manages to keep Webby away for a little bit, encouraging Webby to spend time with Emma since it's been a while since they were together and obviously Webby and Clara were going on a honeymoon immediately after, so Webby should spend time with her mother.

Webby is oblivious to Clara's distancing techniques at first, but then the day before the wedding she's worried Clara has cold feet. Through a series of circumstances, Clara didn't get some pain meds when she was supposed to, and accidentally did something to aggravate her injury, but it was time for the rehearsal and Clara's trying to hide the fact that she is in a good amount of pain and Webby misinterprets it as having second-thoughts and gets upset.

They have a small fight, and Webby storms off, and Clara runs after her. Or tries to. Webby hears Clara cry out, turns around and freaks out when she sees that Clara is on the ground and obviously in some serious pain.

Boyd, who was not subtle in his disapproval of this plan from the get-go and not hesitant to say "I told you so", takes another look and basically tells Clara that she's back to where she started. He gets pain meds in her, and ice on her knee, and then leaves Clara and Webby to have another talk, in which Clara confesses that she hid the injury because she didn't want Webby to worry and wanted Webby to have a magical, perfect wedding.

"Our wedding is going to be magical and perfect, because I'm marrying you, Clara. I love you, and I'm ready to shout that to the world, make a solemn vow to love you for the rest of our lives."

All is better between the two, and the only real change that occurs the next day is that everyone forces Clara to sit down a lot more to rest her knee.

When it comes time for their first dance, Webby tells Clara to put her feet on hers, dancing for the both of them.

All in all, it's very sweet.

Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby, May and June all have brown eyes of the same or close shades, since the triplets are identical, Webby can perfectly disguise herself as one of them without contact lenses and May and June are clones of her, and this way their eye colours aren’t biased to any one of their colour schemes.

Donald’s are earthy brown and Della’s are sky blue, reflecting that he’s more grounded, practical and negative and she’s the more optimistic, excitable one and the pilot. But also, they’re each other’s theme colours like yin and yang.

Scrooge has brown eyes, hence Webby’s, that are deep, warm, firm and proud and have seen the most experience of anyone who’s ever lived. Just one look into them can make you feel utterly reassured and inspired; yet when you put the rest of Scrooge aside they’re easy to imagine in the face of a plain, scruffily dressed poor boy who disappears into the crowd.

Beakley’s are a serious brown. This helps give her and her granddaughter a false sense of biological resemblance.

Launchpad’s are brown like his jacket, or a cup of hot chocolate on a bad day, or - OH NO THE GROUND -

Lena has grey eyes, like a stormcloud… or faint shadow. I headcanon that when she was born out of Magica’s shadow, her colour palette was purely monochrome as an extension of her origins (including her sweater, which is two shades of grey) and she chose her blue shirt and dyed her feathers herself in an early assertion of her individuality. Magica gave her white, grey and black, but blue like her magic and pink like her girlfriend were all Lena’s decisions. They’ve always been her favourite colours. She thinks her super form having blue eyes is really cool and poetic.

Violet has blue eyes, but a dark shade that looks almost purple in certain lighting.

Daisy has very bright, distinctive turquoise eyes that she coordinates her outfits and makeup to match and bring out.

FLINTHEART GLOMGOLD has intense green eyes, symbolic of his all-consuming greed. He’s always ‘seeing green’, if you will.

Mark Beaks has pale blue eyes that can go from innocent, cheerful and charming to cold and hard as ice in an instant. BOYD’s are much darker, as seen above.

Gyro’s are light green. The rarer colour reflects his eccentricity and drive to create new, robotic life and help it grow.

Gladstone’s are the precise green of that wad of American paper money on the the ground that he just happens to have stumbled across, while Fethry’s are deep blueish teal like the ocean he so loves.

Drake’s are blue, matching Jim Starling’s before him, both providing a nice contrast with the Darkwing Duck colours. But as with Mark and BOYD, you could never confuse these pairs. They’re not actually that different in shade, they just have such a different look to them. And yes, this does mean that the Mallard-McCrash family has three different eye colours between them - the brown eyes common in the McDuck-Duck family show their innate unity and prominent theme of inherited traits, but the diversity of the found family’s eyes highlights that they came together from totally different origins.

Fenton’s are very dark brown. He thinks they’re boring and nondescript, while Gandra’s sparkling blue ones are so alluring. She, on the other hand, sees in them his unshakeable resolve, earnest moral conviction and the peaceful stability he offers on a bedrock of emotional strength. His mother’s are likewise almost black, but much more hardened and intimidating.

Quackfaster’s are blue, incredibly sharp and piercing with an unhinged glint that shines menacingly even from within the Achives’ deepest shadows. There are supernatural beings with literal glowing eyes who have saner, less unsettling gazes than her. Don’t fuck with any of the Duck family, that goes without saying, but for the love of all that is good, don’t fuck around in their library.

Moonlanders have different eye colours to Earthlings: gold is equivalent to brown, red to blue and purple to green, contrasting with their green or blue skin. Lunaris’s are gold, bright, sharp, charismatic and calculating. Penumbra’s are red, making her look all the more dangerous and aggressive, but also sneakily making her and Della a low-key red/blue pair in this small way.

So, I was thinking about something. In DuckTales, there are exactly four characters in the show with canonically colored irises (not counting power-ups): Boyd and Gandra both have blue eyes, and Goldie and Gosalyn both have green eyes.

So, that got me wondering: What color eyes would the other DuckTales characters have? For simplicity’s sake, I’m limiting it to natural eye colors (brown, blue, etc.)

No its peak its Fausto Vitaliano. Fausto Vitaliano is the funniest guy. He wrote a story where Mickey Mouse becomes House M.D. and called it ‘Mouse’. Fausto Vitaliano is not standard. Fausto Vitaliano is a genius. Chapter 11 of Tutti millioni has Scrooge going on a long adventure of betrayal and ups and downs to get his eleventh million, only for him to lose everything and then get it back by inventing ice lolly’s. The entire story had nothing to do with his eleventh million. That part happens in one panel in an offhand mention. You see the vision? You see the unparalleled genius of master Vitaliano? He doesn’t write for Topolino anymore because they couldn’t contain his massive mind. His first full duck story was about Fethry and trains. Fausto is the funniest person on this planet.           Gladstone hesitates. An unusual action for the gander, but this was an usually somber mood for the loon as well, so he supposed it was warranted. The hesitation also laid in his response. He... didn’t know what Fethry meant. Or, well, he did, but he couldn’t relate. Gladstone found more often than not that when he was alone, he wouldn’t speak at all. For as much as he joked about singing his own praises, he was shockingly quiet when it came to being on his own. While he came off as a great conversationalist, and he was, he more often than not didn’t care for the things coming out of his own mouth. And as much as he was the only person in the world that understood his own tirals and tribulations, it wasn’t worth hearing the bullshit he told himself on the daily spoken out loud. 

Not that he would tell Fethry any of that. 

          “ I suppose I have vague recollections of what you mean, Feths. ” His voice isn’t necessarily soft, but it’s toned down from its usual boastful drawl. “ The fear that only you will ever understand what it’s truly like to be you. ” He at least understood that, even if it usually took place in an unwillingness to listen to himself speak.

“Good morning darling.” Elvira puts a gentle kiss on Fethry’s forehead. “How did you sleep?”

「 ☆ 」  Yawning, Fethry hums happily at the familiar feeling of a kiss against his forehead, bringing back memories of when he was young. Rubbing his eyes to get rid of the last remnants of sleep, he blinks blearily before aiming red hues up at his Gram, light reflecting in them and making them appear a tad pink. Heavily-freckled face beams with a smile, feathers disheveled from sleep and barely fixed even as he runs his hands through the ones atop his head. Not that the mess matters much, a hat soon plopped atop of it. Blowing the end out of his face, the black puffball at the tip now dangles by the side of his cheek.

❝  I slept great! Probably one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time!  ❞  He chipperly replies, starting to bounce on the balls of his feet.  ❝  Thanks for letting me stay here, Gramma! This place really feels like home.  ❞  Honestly, this is far more of a home than his technical childhood one. The scents and sounds washing over him like a well-worn blanket, enveloping just senses with a comfort he can’t find elsewhere. And he’s TRIED.

Choosing to believe that’s to Gramma’s merit and not the detriment of everywhere else, Fethry powers through in an excited blur, tail giving a few rapid flicks and hands clenched in front of himself,  ❝  Oh-oh! Guess what?? I….  ❞  A pause for emphasis, hands enthusiastically drumming in front of him on an imaginary set,  ❝  Bam-bam-baaaaaaaaaaa! A job!  ❞  Arms stretched upward, all signs of tiredness gone, Fethry stretches to the tips of his toes— for all the good that does for the runty loon-duck —and hastily continues,  ❝  Uncle Scrooge offered for me to be a scientist! Well- okay…  ❞  

Plopping down onto his feet, Fethry shrugs and says through a light laugh,  ❝  It’s more janitor than scientist, but that’s practically a stepping stone. And it’s in a real lab in a real ocean with real water and real fish who live in the real water!  ❞  Smiling eagerly, Fethry leans a bit closer and pipes,  ❝  Pretty cool, huh?  ❞    「 ☆ 」

     The lab always felt too crowded now that Scrooge had reunited with his family. Everyone coming and going was bad enough, but having his two interns and one of his nephews having free reign of the place was maddening. Nothing was ever where Gyro left it, there were messes left about that certainly weren’t his, and there was always something new that he had to work around. For someone with the title “Head of Research and Development”, the chicken really did have to answer to a lot of others below him.

     The one highlight of the day was when Gizmoduck left the lab to respond to something in the city, leaving him with more peace and quiet to focus on his inventions. Finally getting into the groove of his work, the inventor grabbed one of his many notebooks to jot down ideas while he went to grab some tools he left in another part of the lab. He wasn’t pulled out of his thoughts until he walked right into some large object that he knew hadn’t been there before, landing on his rear. Momentarily put in a daze, Gyro gained his senses back and took a good look at what had obscured his walkway. It was obvious to him who was behind this.

     “FETHRY! Why is there an aquarium in my robotics lab!?”

If he wanted to, Dugan could’ve talked back. He could’ve ran across the street as the crosswalk light still flashed green. It was tempting. So, so tempting, but Mama told him to be good. Maybe this whole nephew thing wouldn’t be so bad, adopted or not; maybe he just needed to listen for once.

Grownups were always looking for compromise, weren’t they?

“Okaaaay.” With a sigh, the duckling took Fethry’s hand. It was a good thing that the aquarium was just across the street. A good thing that the two of them loved all sorts of wildlife, marine life included.
